Cyborg, the Greatest Titan

So there was once a seemingly innocuous question asked on Titans Twitter:

Though some used it to prop up their faves, it turned into a serious and big discussion: Who is the Greatest Titan, epitomizing what it means to be a Titan the most?

There were a variety of answers, majority being one of Dick, Donna, Starfire, Raven, or even Wally. But what I noticed was the surprising lack of one answer: Cyborg.

One of the most popular Titans, whom DC clearly sees as one of the Titans Trinity (upper right corner):

Whose removal from Titans lore caused a massive fan uproar, yet among Titans Twitter, probably the most dedicated of Titan fans, Cyborg's name was barely mentioned as a candidate to be the Greatest Titan:

He transformed the team from simply being a group of former sidekicks to a safe haven for all teen heroes

The Titans Are About A Team of Teens That Grew Into A Family

A Family of Teenagers that not only help each other in the struggles of being a hero but also the struggles of being an adolescent, having turbulent emotions in a turbulent world

And who has committed to this mission more than Cyborg?

Victor who fought for the team when everyone including past leaders like Dick and Donna walked away:

Why: Because he knew how much future teen heroes needed the Titans. To guide them and give them a home as the Titans did for him long ago

Stubbornly keeping Titans alive when everyone else wouldn't, allowing Titans to reach their greatest potential: a global network so any teen of any generation can find a home

A man who because the Titans gained utter defiance in who he is, saving not only himself from despair, but also became devoted to giving other teens that same courage, inspiring them to show that they are not freaks nor they are ever alone, thus changing so many lives (go to 2:38 for the start of the iconic speech, but I recommend starting at 2:17)

(Teen Titans 3x13 - "Titans East" - Cyborg's defiance in who he is prevented him from falling to Blood's mind control, defeating Blood saving his fellow Titans, and thus saving the day)

Victor is not only a candidate to be the Greatest Titan, but ultimately is the Most Deserving.

Cyborg is the Greatest Titan, the Lynchpin, without whom the Titans will not work and ultimately cannot because he believes in it the most and thus embodies its ethos the best

OKAY SO let me talk about one of the best and funniest solo side stories in the original Teen Titans comics, so Aquaman decides (for whatever reason) to send Garth to land school.

Babyboy turns out to be a genius and is on his way to score a 100% for his entrance exam which is great!

ALAS, tragedy (a boat) strikes! Garth gets conked in the head on the day of the exams and the evil principal decides that concussion or no, babyboy MUST take the test today (ridiculous by the way). Fortunately (for him), Aquaman too agrees that this is ridiculous and he "won't let fate ruin his future" so he decides the best course of action is to...

Make use of his telepathic powers and give hints using sea animals to nudge Garth to the correct answer! It's not really cheating if your boy already knew the answer, is it?

I appear to have drawn the wrong Enigma - I didn't realize until just now that you said "Peter Milligan's". I thought that Enigma was a creator-owned Vertigo series unaffiliated with the DC universe?

They're a thing in the Teen Titans cartoon,where Summer leads the Mid-West Titans(my fanteam consisted of Summer Kent,@jellyjays ' Blitz Cross and a bunch of canon characters)

Summer is Ember and was adopted as a toddler by Clark and Lois when he was 8 instead of his much darker comics origin and him becoming half Kryptofang was earned by him doing a quest when he was 10 for Fantasma,who passed on in old age and fused with him

Roy's trans and audhd like Summer(canon 2 me actually)

They're also sun-coded4sun-coded and himbo4morosexual(Roy is the morosexual)

They met out in Jump City instead of a big super thing and it was at the arcade when Roy started playing the game next to Summer's and they made idle conversation that led to them discovering they're both Titans and so they made a whole day of it with followed up pizza eating,Summer flying Roy around in his arms which is how he started crushing on him and going mall shopping which is how SUMMER started crushing on ROY

This is it's own episode titled 'Aphrodite's Arrow' and this is only the first half as the rest is action and angst with Roy backstory reveals that Summer comforts him over and Lex attacking Mid-West Titan's Tower and Roy helps them rebuild it as symbolism for Pink Arrow's dynamic i.e Two people with broken pieces putting eachother back together

Roy openly flirts with Summer nonstop and calls him straight up romantic nicknames and Summer just.Does NOT pick up on it,Roy's not even dropping hints he's dropping 100+ level rizz yet Summer can't pick shit much less me

Summer flirts back completely unintentionally and Roy thinks he's sending mixed signals but is into it so it works out.It's an open secret they love eachother and they never deny the couple allegations

Roy helps Summer dye his hair and Summer helps Roy keep his gear well-managed

They're so touchy it's insane.Only gets worse once they actually start dating and their number three love language is physical touch,number two acts of service and number one is words of affirmation

They get together in season 5(Kory's season,she deserved and earned one)when Roy needs to return to Star City and Summer needs to return to Metropolis but they keep finding ways to communicate and miss eachother so much on their trips they run in for a kiss as soon as they make it back to CJ and go on the dream date they'd been planning in their heads in little bits throught all the episodes

Summer had his own Slade apprentice arc when Clark died but in this verse nobody knew about the Kryptonian Regeneration Matrix except him just yet and Slade took advantage of Summer's weak mind and vulnerable state at the time to take him under his wing as 'Cora'.Roy saved him both at the time and afterwards as he put him back together

This was the penultimate issue of the series, the cancellation of which had already been announced. The following issue would be the last, featuring Bumblebee and Guardian looking through a casebook to learn the untold tale of the formation of the team. When Bumblebee and Guardian finish the other members arrive to announce that the Teen Titans are being disbanded so the members can purse their own solo careers.

That didn't last long, though, as the team would be back in 1980 under new management - Marvel Wolfman and George Perez - as the New Teen Titans.
