Eve, Kate, Mark and Rex! Nailing some ideas down on how I wanna draw them in the future, and enjoying messing with their designs like usual! Not a fix-it whatsoever just fun + ref for the future! I cannot do realistic styles so translating them into something I can do while still being recognizable is peak. I will mess with Rex's suit more. Trust. I Kate so much now. Look at her <333333

AFAICT the problem is that Standard English does exist, but the Standard English doesn't (unlike the situation with Italian, Croatian, or Icelandic; I'm not sure to what extent this is true for German, French, or Spanish, all of which are spoken in multiple major countries) - that is, there's about two dozen (maybe more) different claims to Standard English, from Orrm to Wijk (and maybe a few even later than that - Rosenfelder in particular might qualify).

AFAIK probably the only one of those with lasting influence to the present day is Noah Webster's standard, though Brigham Young's standard also has some extant currency, and I guess Strunk & White's standard would count if we ignore how incomplete it is.

The mid-18th century, but yes. AFAIK post-1776 there's been no attempts to impose a cross-national standard on English that didn't flop so horribly that they hardly count.

I actually love how ugly Merlin's outfit is in Merlin. BEFORE YOU YELL AT ME - I love his outfit, I think it's fun, but when you look at every other character, even other peasants, he literally is wearing ill fitting rags. Everything is too big on him (despite being like six foot but whatever) and his silhouette reeks of boring character design.

But like!! Yeah!! He is just Some Guy. I love how they never give him som epic mage robes or a cool outfit for more than thirty seconds. He is unassuming. He's over here, commanding dragons and controlling the weather in the medieval equivalent of stained sweatpants and a night shirt. It's great.

BliztOptimus in Shattered Glass how does that work?

To contrast the melodrama of the rest of the universe this is just a straight up rom-com where Wings is extremely weak to Optimus flirting while the other two desperately try to break the pair up. There's also the ticking time bomb of Optimus going "I need to kill him" when he realizes he actually starting to feel things but that's for future them to worry about.

For Blitzwing it's basically a purpose swap, Wings is the wildcard, Blitz is the strategic thinker while Zing is the impulsive one. Just that the way they go about it is different- Zing for example instead of being confident and carefree is a chronic worrier and impulsively flees when things go bad. Blitz takes into careful considering how his actions affects people and while he doesn't smile has a generally warm personality. Wings however is as destructive as a blizzard once he gets going, following wherever the wind blows and currently this is having a schoolgirl crush on Optimus.

Optimus Prime however is manipulative and unempathetic to basically everyone. He got kicked out of the academy and got the suckiest job of repair team manager and now he's stuck on this stupid planet. Courting Blitzwing (or trying to) is a fun challenge to do to distract from all this. Though his growing anger at Megatron twarting his plans and robbing him from the honor of killing the Decepticon leader is fraying on his nerves.

They're both still loyal to their causes (Blitzwing is a picture of a loyal Decepticon while Optimus' loyalty is more to the idea of himself ruling as Magnus) but Optimus likes sometimes to lead Blitzwing on that he's willing to change sides.
