playing engineer is so fucking fun but you really have to know how to script his buildings or else you cant play him really smoothly and i think thats an inherent flaw in game design tbh. takes being an actual fucking computer engineer to play engineer

What the fuck is wrong with you.

This has to be the single worst, most egregious example of bad UI/UX I have ever seen in my entire life.

And I do not say that lightly. I have been daily-driving Linux for the past seven years, so I have seen my fair share of horrid interfaces.

But this is on another level. Whoever made this needs to spend at least a week reevaluating their entire life and the choices that led to this moment. Monumental failure.

i am currently studying computer engineering as my college major. i have great interest with the intersection between design and engineering.

in my free time, i love to learn (just learning in general). some of my favorite hobbies are ballet, reading books and playing video games. i also love being creative... i also really like anything related to astronomy and self-improvement.

academic interests: engineering, computer engineering, ux/ui design, human computer interaction, design, ai, robotics, astrophysics i have degrees in history (focus is on american immigrant history), visual communication design (graphic design) and liberal arts.

i don't think i'll ever stop learning.

i hope that sharing my journey would help and inspire someone out there. ♡

🪄 Day 2 / 7 of Developing Steam Demo from Game Jam Game

The features I want to finish by day 7 are:

Skill making system (from randomly found components in the dungeons)

Random passive ability pickups (+ various stat upgrades like HP or Shark Teeth UP)

Basic overworld traversal system

Was busy today, but got some progress on a skill-making menu. I like magic circles, so there's gonna be magic circles.

Y'all ever feel like the ffxiv gpose camera is re-teaching you photography framing? Or rather, giving you chances to learn it in an environment that lets you completely and entirely fuck around with things? (As opposed to the curse of real photography; all lighting and camera positioning must be done by you AND be in accordance with the laws of reality. fucked up I know)

Idk how to say it, I just feel like something is clicking for me now that didn't when I took multiple straight up photography classes. Doesn't help that I've never been much of a fan of camera work, so maybe it's just actually fun this time now that it's it's digitized. Not 100% on that one lmao

tumblr's photo viewer sucks immensely, it's overly complicated for what it needs to do, i shouldn't have to wait an additional 15+ seconds for an image that's already loaded on my screen to load in what is essentially a separate application, it's literally faster and less annoying to download the image and just open it on my phone if i want to zoom in on it and look at the details, plus i don't risk accidentally swiping up and being subjected to some freak shit image that i don't care about and did not want to look at. does anyone understand. i feel like i'm going insane

just downloaded and set up firefox and i like it a lot more than google chrome already!! been putting off this switch for years, but it literally took like five minutes max to download extensions etc. and most of them got transferred over from chrome anyway. a very chill experience
