i am currently studying computer engineering as my college major. i have great interest with the intersection between design and engineering.

in my free time, i love to learn (just learning in general). some of my favorite hobbies are ballet, reading books and playing video games. i also love being creative... i also really like anything related to astronomy and self-improvement.

academic interests: engineering, computer engineering, ux/ui design, human computer interaction, design, ai, robotics, astrophysics i have degrees in history (focus is on american immigrant history), visual communication design (graphic design) and liberal arts.

i don't think i'll ever stop learning.

i hope that sharing my journey would help and inspire someone out there. ♡

hi, my name is Renee ♡ I am a computing graduate who is interested in all things tech, mainly ui/ux, game development and ai.

I have always followed codeblrs but I have finally decided to take a step forward and make one! I will mainly be using this blog to document my journey as I complete Dr.Angela Yu's 100 Days of Code Bootcamp on Udemy. I am also hoping this helps me in getting more inspiration and getting back into the habit of development.

Hello, I'm Iris, a disabled undergrad student navigating through life. This year has been CRAZY.

If I think about it, 2024 has been a year full of treatments that haven't worked, my disability getting worse, so much pain, so much failure. I completed my first year of undergrad, and figured out routines for myself, and decided how I want my day to be structured. And I think those can count as wins too.

But I think the biggest win of all was that I made it. I made it through this hell of a year.

Looking back, a lot of people have helped me, knowingly or unknowingly.

I don't have many high expectations of 2025. Maybe I'd complete writing my first book. Maybe I'd lose some weight. Maybe I would get cured. Maybe not. Either way, I'm excited for what the future holds for me. I am excited to meet new people, share new ideas, have deep conversations about life and goofy talks about nothing in particular. I'm excited to give all the love in my heart to the people around me, to gain opportunities to help and make other people's lives better. I'm excited to continue this journey of life, even though it sucks sometimes.

Starting my new position has been insanely busy as of late, and admittedly the only studying I've been doing is about the company. Theres so much more I'd like to learn, especially for this new position so I'm adjusting my "study priorities list" to account for the new changes

The "eat the frog" method needs to be its own category on my list, because there are a lot of impactful items that I'm putting off- but that could be done in a weekend. These for me are quick, high priority and high impact things (ie. a tool that could put me ahead at work)

My frogs:

High priority (2-3 hours every day):

First day at new job!

Monday 8th January 2024

OMG today was the best! The new job’s office (not in the picture background, I'm at the doctor's there...) has so many cool chill people in it, so far I wanna stay here forever!

Had induction meetings, and a tour around the office, everything was so cool! Another 2 people joined so I wasn’t entirely nervous thinking I’m the only one who would be confused on the whole onboarding process. Work’s in an old-like building with a Grunge aesthetic vibe going on, absolutely love it! And music plays in the background which is so much better than the old job which was in complete silence 🤐

I'm just super excited to start working on the project + the team seem, and are, super friendly and helpful! Thank God for a smooth process getting here, yay!

I'm excited to share that I'm starting a new chapter by diving into fullstack web development. In just a couple weeks, I'll be embarking on courses to learn HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python and more...

As a stay-at-home mom of one, I'm thrilled for this opportunity to expand my skills. I've always loved learning new things, whether it's knitting, gardening, or coding. Now I get to take my self-education to the next level!

My goals are to stay focused, avoid burnout, and find a healthy balance between studying and family. I know there will be challenges ahead, but I'm determined to succeed.
