VUE by e-onsoftware for environmental world building. Something to fiddle around with to create some powerful, in depth background scenery. (very high CPU usage)
Style3D Atelier, a clothing simulation software with posable models to see how clothing folds form and interact with the body. Free trial exists, how much of the Programm is usable after free trial expires is still unclear to me. Will update later if it stays a viable source (for the real time cloth simulation, this requires a good CPU, too.)

"Je ne reviendrai pas à RTL. C’est ma décision. Voici pourquoi.
Il y a quinze jours, mes propos sur la colonisation algérienne ont créé le débat. La direction de la radio m’a dit avoir enregistré de nombreuses protestations de la part des auditeurs. Pour faire droit à l’émotion suscitée, il m’a été demandé de ne pas me présenter la semaine suivante, en m’indiquant que je serai le bienvenu, ensuite, pour continuer à défendre mes points de vue sur l’antenne.
J’ai compris et admis la démarche des dirigeants de RTL. Je l’ai trouvé équilibrée et respectueuse à mon égard. Et puis, le jour de suspension est arrivé. C’était mercredi dernier. À partir de là, concrètement confronté à ce qu’il faut bien appeler une punition, ma perception de la situation s’est modifiée.
Même décidée dans le cadre d’un dialogue serein et compréhensif, une punition reste une punition. Si je reviens sur l’antenne de RTL, je la valide, donc je reconnais avoir fait une faute. C’est un pas que je ne peux pas franchir.
J’attache un prix particulier à la question de la présence française en Algérie entre 1830 et 1962. Je ne suis pas concerné personnellement. Ni mon père, ni mes oncles, ni d’autres membres de ma famille n’ont participé à la guerre d’Algérie. Je n’ai pas non plus de connexions ou de liens avec des Français rapatriés de ce pays. J’ai découvert cette histoire de manière banale. Je me suis intéressé, voilà déjà longtemps, aux conditions du retour au pouvoir du général de Gaulle, en mai 1958. La question du maintien de l’Algérie dans la France était au cœur de la crise politique. Je me suis alors demandé ce qu’était cette situation, quelle était la nature de la présence française et aussi celle de la cohabitation des communautés sur ce territoire.
Ce que j’ai lu dans les livres écrits par des historiens méticuleux m’a horrifié. Les massacres de musulmans se sont succédés tout au long des 132 ans d’occupation. Un statut dit d’indigénat, appliqué à partir de 1881, a privé les premiers occupants de l’espace de tous droits et leur a imposé des servitudes archaïques et injustes. Chassés des terres les plus riches, ils ont végété dans l’extrême pauvreté. La scolarisation des enfants a été parcimonieuse. Tout ceci dresse un tableau indigne de la France au regard des valeurs d’humanité qui font sa réputation dans le monde.
J’ai vécu comme une injustice maintenue l’absence de reconnaissance officielle par le colonisateur des traitements dégradants infligés à cette population. Les propos que je tiens sur ce sujet depuis des années sont liés à ce sentiment. Pour cette raison, et pour cette raison seulement, je ne peux pas accepter d’être puni pour les avoir répétés.
Je regrette la situation qui s’est créée. J’ai passé de belles années professionnelles à RTL. C’est une radio que j’aime. Mais c’est ainsi.
Une précision pour terminer, parce que j’ai vu à l’œuvre durant ces derniers jours ces faux nationalistes qu’effarouchent les vérités de l’histoire. Le pouvoir algérien d’aujourd’hui est une dictature. Il l’est depuis 1962. Le peuple algérien mérite, comme tous les peuples, la liberté et la justice. Il en est, hélas, privé depuis trop longtemps. Par ailleurs, je m’associe, comme je l’ai fait depuis le début, aux demandes de libération de Boualem Sansal, injustement emprisonné à Alger.
Un jour, c’est mon espoir, la France, mon pays, conviendra de sa part d’inhumanité dans l’histoire.

Hello~ Do you know anything or have any resources about Sophie Dupont (Carnot's wife). I would like to know more about her, such as her personality, appearance, stories and so on. Thank you~
Let me start by saying that I'm very thankful to you for asking me this question. Indeed, since I began studying Carnot's life more thoroughly, I have been intrigued to know more about his wife: a modest, yet talented woman, whose loyalty and goodness were of fundamental support for Lazare throughout his whole life.
This post is going to be a bit incomplete, though; or rather, not how I planned to write it in the first place. There are two sources, quite useful to shed light both on Sophie's personality and certain biographical details, that are currently inaccessible to me; these being her letters to Madame de Salaignac and the more recent work Les dames Carnot de 1764 à 1789. So, I limited myself to quote and translate every document or note I could find about her, hoping to potentially refine my research in the future.
Marie-Jacqueline-Sophie-Joseph Dupont de Moringhem - formerly de Lierdt - was born in Saint-Omer on 22 July 1764 and baptised on the following day in the parish of Saint-Sépulcre, as stated on her birth certificate:

Acquaintance between the Carnot and Dupont families happened through Sophie's father and Lazare's younger brother, Claude-Marie Carnot de Feulint.
It's not clear when they exactly met, but surely after the latter was garrisoned in Saint-Omer in 1788; we know the place though: the salon of Madame Ballard d'Invillier. [1] There, not only did Feulint met Jacques-Antoine Dupont de Lierdt, - somebody who shared the former's view regarding the socio-political situation of France of that time - but also his three daughters: Sophie, Adélaïde and Gaëtane, who, according to Hippolyte's memoirs on Lazare Carnot, “distinguished themselves for their beauty and education”. [2] Adélaïde caught the attention of Claude-Marie, who in return must have made quite an impression on her, given his charming personality. [3] The two eventually married on 11 May 1790 and Lazare was one of the witnesses; it's possible that he met Sophie there, if they haven't already before during some family reunions.
In September 1790 Lazare Carnot was seriously injured in one leg while working at the sluices in Asfeld; his younger brother insisted on bringing him to Saint-Omer to facilitate his recovery and looking after him. Actually, those who showed themselves eager to do that were Feulint’s wife Adélaïde and sister-in-law Sophie. It's during this fairly long period of recovery that the latter and Lazare came to know each other better, becoming intimate. Indeed, the two spent several hours together every day: In order to distract him, Sophie entertained Lazare playing the piano - she was indeed an excellent pianist -; she also wrote music for his poems and learnt to play his favourite game, trictrac. In return, Lazare wrote poetry specifically for her. [4] As expected from these premises, it didn't take much for the two to fall in love and some months later the marriage between Sophie Dupont and Lazare Carnot was celebrated in the church of Salperwick. Here's the certificate of their union:

According to Jean and Nicole Dhombres [5], Carnot devoted the following poem, titled Le fils de Vénus [6], to his wife on the very day of their marriage. It’s a reference to Cupid, indeed the son of Venus; the poem is thus a tribute to the love felt for Sophie:
Qui définira cet enfant , Aussi vieux que le monde ? Marmot dont l’empire comprend Les cieux, la terre et l’onde ; Qui les yeux couverts d’un bandeau, Lit dans nos coeurs, tient le flambeau, Qui consume et féconde?

We don’t know many specifics about the everyday life of the Carnot family after Lazare was elected to the Legislative Assembly. Something we can say is that he and his brother - a deputy too - moved to Paris and their wives followed them. They all lived together under the same roof in Rue Saint-Florentin. When the future Organizer of Victory became a member of the Committee of Public Safety, he spent most of the day either in his own office or in meetings with his colleagues, coming back home - when he could - around 6 PM to dine; a couple of hours later he was already back at the Tuileries. [7]
A few days before the fateful 9 Thermidor, on 19 July 1794 Sophie gave birth to a boy. Considering that the couple had a child born dead in 1793, this event must have been truly joyful and heartwarming. It’s on this occasion that Lazare wrote another poem to his wife, Souhaits pour un nouveau né, “Wishes for a newborn” if we want to translate it in English. Unfortunately, the child died just a year later, on 10 August 1795. This was a severe blow for Lazare, but especially Sophie, who, because of it, fell into a severe depression. [8] In order to distract her and improve her state of mind, the former accompanied her to various parties that Director Paul Barras arranged at the Luxembourg Palace. There, Sophie met someone who she would soon have formed a strong friendship with: Joséphine Beauharnais. [9]
The years between 1795 and 1797 ended up being quite troublesome for Carnot, given his position of Director and the constant clashes, let alone divergences of opinion he had with his colleagues; the same, however, couldn’t be said for Sophie. Indeed, she kept herself away from the insidious realm of politics, partaking in the mundane, bourgeois life the Luxembourg Palace had to offer, taking care, according to the testimony of Antoine-François Lomet, of making her house welcoming:
The wife of the Director arranged the house of her husband according to the tastes of the beau monde: tea rooms, music, glittering balls…[...] A part of Barras’ feminine protegés overflowed the Carnot family’s mansion.
A letter that Thérésa Tallien, the famous Notre-Dame de Thermidor, sent to Sophie - probably in 1796 - might suggest that the former could have been among the guests, since it shows - if not an actual friendship - at least, a polite interaction between them:
When my husband, Madame, asked Citizen Carnot to celebrate with us the anniversary of 9 Thermidor, I had reserved to myself the pleasure of asking you on my own accord. I was deprived [of the opportunity] due to the nature of the previous commitments of the citizen La Revellière, which were common to both of you. May I flatter myself, Madame, that you may deign to compensate me by spending the evening of the 12th and insist additionally with much kindness to bring the Citizen Director, Madame your sister, and her Citizen husband. [10]

If, at this point, Sophie seemed to have finally found peace and relief from her depression, what would have soon happened challenged her steadfastness once more: in August 1797, Carnot prompted her and their child Sadi - born in June 1796 - to go back to Saint-Omer, for the position of the Director was becoming more and more critical. His fears about a tumultuous destitution revealed themselves true when on the night between 17 and 18 Fructidor he was forced to flee from Paris and France altogether, not to fall victim of a coup d’état. Carnot was proscribed: all of his personal belongings were sequestered and sealed, as those of Sophie, until proven that her husband was serving his sentence in Cayenne; her house in Saint-Omer was at risk too. A divorce was the only way to relieve the Dupont family from this burden. It was a hard and much suffered decision, which Sophie refused to take initially; pressured both by her father and husband, though, she eventually agreed. [11] The divorce was officially approved on 17 July 1799, as stated in the 5th volume of the Gazette de nouveau tribunals:
Article 13 of the law of 19 Fructidor year 5 states that various individuals, named in said article, shall be deported without delay. That their belongings shall be sequestered, immediately after the publication of the law and that their withdrawal shall not be granted until the individual’s arrival in the place decided for the deportation. Ex-Director Carnot is one of those affected by this law. Nothing has attested his arrival to the place of the deportation yet. His wife, whose personal belongings are among those sequestered, summons her husband at his last known address. She asks for the separation of property, the selling of the objects, which constitute the part of shared possessions and its takeovers. She presents a memoir to the administration, because of the requisition.  The Commissioner of Executive Power presiding over the Seine department inverveins. He claims that the summoning is null and that Citizeness Carnot has no right to ask for anything, as long as the requirement in the article 13 of the 19 Fructidor law is fulfilled.  The Commissioner of Executive Power presiding over the tribunal makes a distinction. Indubitably, he says, the liquidation can only be settled administratively. But as far as property separation is concerned, only the Court has the competence to decide over the matter. He adds that her husband’s deportation is a legal reason to obtain said separation, since the wife cannot rely on marital surveillance and collaboration anymore. The Commissioner estimates, consequently, that it is time to: Receive the Commissioner near the central government, for the intervening party. Give default of appearance to Carnot. And, for benefit, since the deportation does not allow Carnot to manage and administrate the shared possessions, to declare his wife separated from him together with her own belongings. And to refer, for the liquidation, this citizeness to administrative proceedings. The Court adopts these conclusions.Sentence of 4 Messidor, Year 6. [12]
Once Sophie got her dowry back, she used it to help her husband financially abroad. Moreover, during these difficult times, she gave proof of great resolution against all the slander coming both from left and right wing journals and pamphlets towards the ex-Director and consequently herself too. She remained faithful and never disowned him. About her conduct, Carnot expressed himself as such:
[The resolution of Sophie] that exposed her to false judgements demanded her a great strength of mind. [...] [She] had to make sure no one, not even her relatives, knew the reasons behind her conduct [about the divorce] and to endure in silence the blame on her. [13]
After 18 Brumaire, with the establishment of the Consulate, the divorce was annulled.
During the period in which Carnot worked as Minister of War for Napoléon - from April to March 1800 - Sophie went back to the tranquil life she led before the Fructidor coup, taking care of her family and above all, her child. She kept cultivating her friendship with Joséphine, a relationship dating back to the Directory, proof of which is present in personal letters and favours towards the Carnot family as far as taking care of their children is concerned. Indeed, the First Consul’s wife became greatly attached to Sadi, often looking after him while his father and Napoléon were busy discussing military matters. [14]
Further information about Sophie and the life she led after Carnot resigned from his functions as Minister can be found in the correspondence between her and her friend Marie-Marguerite de Villeneuve, also known as Madame de Salaignac. Unfortunately, the file containing the letters seems to have been lost; today only a brief summary of them exists in the article Madame de Salaignac et la famille de Lazare Carnot by Louis Richon. Here, we discover that Carnot with his family eventually went back to Saint-Omer, devoting his days to science and the education of his two children. As for Sophie, she supported her husband with familial duties; she proved herself to be an attentive and affectionate mother, watching over the health and education of both Sadi and Hippolyte, the latter being born in 1801.  Richon’s article only mention a single excerpt of a letter penned by Sophie, which I decided to report, because it gives a glimpse of her personality:
...Sadi n’oubli pas les complaisances qu’ont eues vos chers fils pour lui et m’en parle fréquemment, il me charge de les assurer qu’il ne les oublira [sic] jamais et les prie de vouloir bien recevoir 100 milles baisers, ce sont Madame, ses propres expressions. Il jouit d’une excelente [sic] santé, il me semble que depuis qu’il a été vacciné, elle s'améliore tous les jours, il commence à scavoir [sic] parfaitement lire, un peu écrire, une légère teinture des mathématiques qui paroit [sic] etre un de ses goûts particuliers qui tous les jours lui en fait n’aitre encorre [sic] plus le désir en voyant son papa en être occupé à tous les momens qu’il n’employe pas à l’instruire. [15]
EN: Sadi has not forgotten the compliments which your dear children addressed to him and he often talks about them with me, he entrusted me to assure them that he will never forget them and he begs them to receive one hundred thousand kisses, these are Madame, his own words. He enjoys excellent health, it seems that after the vaccination it gets better each passing day, he has started to know how to read, to write a bit, a smattering of mathematics, which seems to be one of his particular interests, that makes him eager to know more every day, by looking at his father being busy with it all the time he does not spend teaching him.

In the correspondence with Salaignac, Sophie often talks about her health issues, which probably ended up being the cause of her premature death on 6 February 1813. What follows is her death certificate, kept in the Parisian archives, section of the Etat civil reconstitués:

On the topic of Sophie’s death, there’s also the following letter that Carnot wrote to Joséphine [17], notifying her of the sad event. Indeed, despite the altercations between Napoléon and Carnot following the latter’s resignation, the friendships between their wives remained unchanged:
A l’Imperatrice Joséphine, 6 février 1813. Madame, Je viens de perdre la plus vertueuse des épouses et mes enfants la plus tendre des mères. La mort m’a enlevé celle qui, depuis vingt et un ans, partageait mes longues traverses et mes instants de bonheur. Jusqu’à son dernier moment, elle a conservé la reconnaissance des bontés dont Votre Majesté l’honora : je dois à sa mémoire le soin de la rappeler encore une fois aux sentiments d’affection qui vous caractérisent et qui sont si précieux pour toute âme sensible. Cette digne compagne m’a laissé deux gages de sa tendresse : l’un Sadi, que Votre Majesté a presque vu naître, et qu’elle a comblé d’amitiés dans son enfance, est assez grand âgé pour comprendre toute l’étendue de la perte qu’il vient de faire, il est élève de l’Ecole polytechnique ; l’autre, Hippolyte, est âgé de onze ans. This worthy partner [of mine] has left me with two proofs of her tenderness: one, Sadi, whom Your Majesty almost saw being born and whom you have loaded with friendly kindnesses during his childhood, is old enough to understand the importance of the loss that he has just suffered; he is a student at the Ecole Polytechnique; the other, Hippolyte is eleven years old. I am, with respect, of Your Majesty the most humble and obedient servant. Carnot. Paris, 5, Rue Neuve Saint-François, Marais.
Until now, I’ve only listed some biographical details and documents, from which it’s possible to get an idea of Sophie’s personality; but what about her appearance? There are only three depictions of her, one being a physionotrace made on the occasion of her marriage and the other two for which both author and date are still unknown.

The first picture comes from geneanet.org, the other one can be found in Evelyne Lejour’s master thesis Famille Carnot: Des mémoires en héritage [19]. Lejour quotes Les dames Carnot as original source for the portrait; given that said booklet is written by a descendant of Lazare, it’s possible for said portrait to come directly from the family archives and consequently to be the one made by Boilly in 1813 that Marcel Reinhard mentions in the second volume of his work. [20]
As stated in the beginning, the few sources I managed to find clearly aren’t enough to draft a complete portrayal of Sophie; nonetheless, I believe there’s no mistake in saying that she was a gentle, good-mannered woman, who always supported and sided with her husband even during the most critical moments of his career. Such loyalty and devotion weren’t exactly the norm in a time in which marriages weren’t often based on genuine feelings of love and affections between the two parties. The same can be said for the relationship with her two children: she took great care of them, making sure they were always in good health and that they committed themselves to their studies diligently.

Antimony
Who would you be if you didn’t—couldn't—exist?
After an accident involving a faulty regulator, Antimony came to a harrowing realization—nobody recognized her. Friends and family alike greeted her as a stranger. She quickly found that the true extent of the situation was even worse: once any conversation ended, she was immediately forgotten as if she never existed. To all of Solution Nine, she was no more than a temporary hallucination, instantly erased.
...Or more precisely, almost all of Solution Nine.

Credits become significantly more difficult to earn when nobody remembers your existence. Most jobs were impossible for Antimony, since employers wouldn't recognize her once the task was complete. For a while, selling whatever junk she managed to scavenge in face-to-face transactions was her only viable source of income.
Eventually, though, Antimony found it was far more efficient to simply steal whatever she needed. Thanks to her condition, she could take anything, anywhere—even directly from a shopkeep's hands—with no repercussions, so long as she could get away... and she had always been a damn good runner. On the rare occasions she did get caught, it was only a minor inconvenience; the Sentries would confine her, leave, then return to a cell holding an anonymous citizen with no criminal record. Whatever strange affliction had befallen her, it extended even to Everkeep's internal databanks.
Sometimes, to keep life interesting, Antimony would target the same establishment day after day. Though they couldn't remember her, they could remember the crime, and Antimony made a game of setting off the countermeasure-du-jour.
One day, after the fourth successful heist that week from a True-Vue convenience store, Antimony sank to the curb to enjoy her ill-gotten snacks. Even from a couple of blocks away, she could still hear the shop's freshly installed alarms shrieking uselessly in the distance. She grinned and popped a fruit pellet into her mouth.
"Gimme some of that," commanded a gruff little voice, somewhere over Antimony's shoulder. She turned to find a Milalla's outstretched palm making grabby hands at her spoils.
She rolled her eyes. "Buzz off, kid."
The Milalla let out a defiant huff, and said, "You're the kid here, punk, and I'm going to take a share of the goods, unless you'd rather me let the Sentries know about your little operation."
Antimony froze, and the fruit pellet on its way to her mouth clattered to the pavement below. "You—you've been watching me?"
"As if it's hard; you're stealing in broad daylight! Frankly, I don't know how you keep getting away with it, but whatever your secret is, you shouldn't be wasting it on... shitty convenience store food." The Milalla had helped himself to the snack bag and was frowning at its contents.
"That's... not possible," Antimony whispered. When the Milalla gave her an incredulous look, she continued, "Nobody knows who I am! Ever! If you've been watching me, that would mean you can remember me..."
"Riiight... Okay, on second thought, keep your snacks," he said, taking a cautious step back. "I thought you had talent, kid, but maybe you've just got a couple of screws loose."
Antimony's eyes widened as he turned to leave. "No—wait! Please... just, here—let me prove it to you!"
He stopped, then looked back. Antimony braced for the blank stare of a stranger, but his face showed only an apprehensive little frown. She could have wept with relief at that. Instead, she sprang to her feet.
"Wanna see a neat party trick?"

Antimony and her companion made their way down the street, convenience store coffees in hand. No alarms were screeching after her this time. The Milalla's eyebrows were furrowed as he stared at the steaming cup.
"He smiled at you! Told you to 'come again,' even!"
Antimony shrugged. "Like I said, nobody remembers me, ever. You're the first person I've met who has. Ever since I became... like this, anyway." A thought occurred to her, and she blinked. "I'm Antimony, by the way. Sorry, didn't think to introduce myself—there's usually no point in it."
She looked down at the Milalla, and for the first time, really looked at him. Behind round little glasses, his sharp green eyes were lined with the beginnings of minute wrinkles, and she felt like an ass for calling him a kid. Despite his rough demeanor, his clothes were decently made and well-tailored. And yet, there was something about his appearance that seemed... off; she was having trouble placing it. Eventually, she realized what was missing.
"Wait, where's your regulator?" she asked.
He chuckled, "In my line of work, s'best to avoid plugging a tracking device into your skull." He held out a tiny hand. "Name's Kenek."

Yang: *still half asleep* ... Jaune? Why are you...
Jaune: You got a motorcycle, right? I need to use i-
Yang: *now fully waking up* Woah there! Bumblebee isn't something that i- mfhm!?
Jaune: *placing his hand on her mouth, making a silence gesture* Don't wake up the other.
Yang: ... *Slowly nod*
Jaune: *removing his hand* Now, i know Bumblebee is like your baby, and i wouldn't ask you for help if i didn't have to leave but-
Yang: *aghast but still whispering* You are leaving!? W-why?! *As her eyes get used to the dark, she can see that Jaune is in his complete armor.* Does it have anything to do with what happened yesterday?
Jaune: *looking away* It's... nothing any of you should be worried about. I don't want anyone else to be hurt.
Yang: ... *Shaking her head* I can't just let you go alone, just wait for me and-
Jaune: *fear in his eyes* No!
RWB_: *Waking up from the sound*
Ruby: *looking at the source of the sound* What the... Jaune?
Weiss: *taking her scroll to get a bit more light* Why are you here!?
Blake: *take one look at him* ... You know, if you wanted time alone with Yang, you should have told me.
Jaune: ... Shit.

Jaune: *sigh* That's the best i can say, yes.
Ruby: But why don't you want our help?

Yang: Wait... Is that man..?
Jaune: *looking at the ground* He was one of them, yes.
Yang: *eyes glowing red* And you wanted to go fight him alone!? Didn't you warn Blake of the same thing?! That she would get killed if she tried going against the White Fang by herself?
Jaune: *shaking his head* It's not the same, nothing is the same.
Blake: Ok, that will be the kettle calling the pot black, but what do you mean it's not the same? I almost died at the dock and against the mecha. Had it not been for my team...
Jaune: We don't have the same goal at all. *Getting up* You want to stop the white fang, yes? Well, what *point to himself* ""I""wants is to murder the sons of bitches who tortured my best friend!
The room turn silent

Johnny Rockfort organise une soirée dans son quartier, un gala caritatif, pour booster sa popularité. Les élections auront bientôt lieu, et les sondages sont serrés, entre Rockfort et Sadia. Lui, qui prône l’équité des classes, des origines, pour que plus jamais la pauvreté ne soit un frein. Elle, qui prône l’égalité des genres et la liberté d’aimer. Sa compagne Cristal, star de la télé, sera présente, c’est assuré. Même si certaines sources soufflent qu’elle a été vue dans un bar lesbien un soir où Sadia le fréquentait.
Alors que les candidats défendent la sécurité de vivre et d’être qui l’on a choisi d’être, des rebelles sèment la terreur dans la ville, la nuit venue. Des vétérans de guerre, qui ne se remettent pas du terrain, des horreurs. A leur tête, Zéro Janvier—tellement traumatisé et détaché de son identité, il réfute l’idée d’avoir un jour de naissance, et en a fait sa nouvelle identité. A ses côté, l’ancienne star du grand écran Stella Spotlight, désenchantée depuis qu’elle n'est plus la préférée.
Ils vont tout faire exploser. C’est Ziggy qui l’a entendu à l’Underground Café. Quand MJ lui a annoncé, fière comme jamais, qu’elle allait jouer de la guitare pour le gala de Rockfort, il l’a suppliée de ne pas y aller. Si seulement elle était restée à l’Underground Café, ce soir-là. N’était-ce pas assez de jouer pour lui ? Il l’écouterait jusqu’au matin, et encore après. Mais elle voulait la gloire, et le gala lui donner l’opportunité de jouer devant le pays entier, d’être télévisée.
Alors depuis l’Underground Café, Ziggy regarderait le spectacle, jusqu’à la fin. Et puis au matin, il se demanderait pourquoi se lever, et comme tous les matins, il se lèverait parce qu’il faut bien payer le loyer.

Lore.FM, ou pourquoi créer un "Audible pour Archive of Our Own" n'est pas une bonne idée
Ce blog n'a pas l'habitude de couvrir des sujets d'actualité, mais qui sait, peut-être le devrait-il. Du fait du caractère récent des évènements dont je vais parler ici, je ne peux pas espérer atteindre le niveau de détachement et d'objectivité que je tente d'avoir dans mes autres posts, donc je vous invite à vous renseigner de votre propre côté. Je ferai de mon mieux pour ajouter des sources à ce post dans un avenir proche.
Que se passe-t-il ?
Lore.FM est un projet d'application mobile et de site web qui vise à produire des versions audio de fanfictions publiées sur le site Archive of Our Own. La créatrice du projet est particulièrement active sur Tiktok, où elle décrit le projet comme un "Audible pour Ao3". Le projet affirme avoir été créé dans une optique d'accessibilité pour les personnes malvoyantes ou celles qui préfères les formats audio. U
Il y a pourtant quelques gros, GROS problèmes inhérents à ce projet.
Le consentement des auteur.ices dont les fanfictions seraient importées sur lore.fm ne semble pas être un facteur pris en compte. C'est pour moi le plus gros problème de ce projet, qui semble destiner à faire du profit sur le travail d'autres personnes, et ce sans leur accord.
Du fait que leur travail se trouverait sur une application séparée d'Ao3, les auteur.ices ne seraient pas en mesure de recevoir des retours sur leur travail. Ni commentaires, ni bookmarks, ni kudos, pas même une simple vue.
D'après les propos de la créatrice, il serait possible de demander de faire retirer sa fic... en donnant des informations personnelles afin de prouver que l'on en est bien propriétaire, dont votre adresse, numéro de téléphone et adresse mail.

Je ne crois pas devoir expliquer pourquoi donner des informations de ce genre à des gens qui, on l'a établi, ne semblent pas se soucier du consentement d'autrui.
Quid des auteur.ices décédé.es ? Quid des personnes ayant cessé d'utiliser Ao3 ? Quid de celles qui fréquentent peu les réseaux sociaux, et pourraient ne pas avoir vu passer l'information ? Comment feront ces personnes pour défendre leur travail ?
Ce procédé est malhonnête et irrespectueux. Ce n'est pas un projet au service de la communauté, puisqu'il ne profite pas aux auteur.ices.
Un deuxième axe qu'il me semble important de mentionner est le fait que le logiciel qui transformerait le texte des fics en média audio incorpore certainement de l'intelligence artificielle partiellement ou totalement. La créatrice affirme le contraire, mais de sérieux doutes ont été émis à ce sujet.
Dans une communauté qui tourne autour de la volonté des fans à créer de leur propres mains, je ne pense pas que l'IA mérite notre attention.
Que faire ?
Tout d'abord, ne pas paniquer. Il ne sert à rien de courir supprimer toutes ses fics et de s'enfermer dans une caverne tel un ermite parce le monde est trop décevant. Ce projet, même s'il est d'une éthique douteuse, reste un simple projet, qui n'a pas encore été matérialisé.
Si vous avez peur que vos fics se retrouvent sur cette application, il existe un moyen de défense : Verrouillez vos fics. Elles ne seront plus accessibles qu'aux utilisateur.ices possédant un compte Ao3, ce qui réduit grandement le risque que vos fanfictions soient collectées par des bots, ce qui sera probablement la méthode de collecte de ce projet.
(Si vous souhaitez un tutoriel à ce sujet, n'hésitez pas à envoyer un message ou une question à ce blog)
Si vous tenez à supprimer vos fics, assurez-vous d'en garder une sauvegarde. Rien ne vous interdit de le reposter à un moment plus propice, et il serait dommage de priver le monde de tant de belles œuvres.
Si l'idée de fanfictions audio vous tente et que vous souhaiteriez en faire l'expérience de manière éthique, je vous encourage à vous pencher sur le travail de la communauté des podficcers, des fans qui se spécialisent dans l'enregistrement de version audio de fanfics, avec le consentement des auteur.ices. Vous pouvez les trouver sur Ao3 via le tag Podfic et sur Tumblr sous le tag du même nom.

George est un homme bourré de qualités. Je lui envie toutes ses qualités humaines, son sens de la diplomatie et du compromis. Je ne suis même pas certain qu'il soit possible de se disputer, ou même de de se fâcher, avec lui. Il a une voix grave, douce et apaisante, qui fait des merveilles avec ses interlocuteurs, même les plus racistes. Et pour ne rien gâcher, il est cultivé et très intelligent, même si parfois un peu candide. Je comprends que ma soeur soit tombée sous son charme et ne rêve plus que de l'épouser. Ce sera l'union d'un volcan et d'une source d'eau pure.
Tu trouves sans doute que j'en fais beaucoup pour te le rendre agréable, mais je serais bien peiné si tu ne l'aimais pas, autant car il est mon ami que mon futur beau-frère. Je suis sans doute jaloux de ses qualités maintenant que j'y réfléchis et que je me relis.

George « Mais par la Sainte-Vierge, Antoine ! Qu’est-ce que tu fais ? »
Marc-Antoine « Je sauve la vie de mon frère. »
George « Et c’est tout à ton honneur, je te l’assure. Mais la façon dont tu t’y prends… Si il veut rester, tu ne réussiras pas à l’en dissuader. »
Marc-Antoine « Il partira, peut importe la façon dont je m’y prends. Je ne peux pas prendre le risque de le perdre. »
George « Il va finir par te détester. Tu lui parles comme si c’était un enfant qui ne valait rien. Tu veux le briser ? »
Marc-Antoine « Tu ne comprends pas. Tu n’as ni frère, ni sœur. Toutes les nuits, je fais des cauchemars atroces où je vois son cadavre à côté de ceux de mes sœurs, d’Aurore et… et de mes enfants. Je n’ai aucune nouvelle depuis des mois. Des mois ! Je ne peux rien faire. Je ne peux pas reprendre la France à moi seul pour retrouver ma famille. La seule chose que je peux faire, c’est mettre mon frère à l’abri. »
George « Je te comprends, crois-moi. Mais en t’y prenant ainsi, tu vas le perdre. Je me souviens il y a quelques années quand tu m’as confié être heureux de te rapprocher de ton frère après une enfance distante. Tu veux vraiment perdre ce bonheur ? »
Marc-Antoine « Tout ça n’a plus d’importance désormais. Il peut bien me haïr à en crever. Tant qu’il est vivant, c’est tout ce qui compte. »
George « Je persiste à penser qu’il y a d’autres moyens. »
Marc-Antoine « J’ai un devoir envers ma famille, et je compte bien le remplir. Et mon devoir aurès de mon frère, c’est de le protéger. Tu ne parviendras pas à me faire changer d’avis. »
George « Non, je le vois bien. Tu es aussi buté que Cléo… Oh, Cléo… »
Marc-Antoine « Je ferai en sorte que tu la retrouves. Je serai honoré de t’avoir pour beau-frère George. Tu es quelqu’un de bien, vraiment. Ne perds jamais tes scrupules. Et c’est pour cela que j’ai besoin de ton aide. Si tu parles à Jean-François, il pliera plus vite. »
George « Je n’ai pas envie de jouer les arbitres entre toi et ton frère. Vous avez tous les deux des points de vue parfaitement légitimes, et vous êtes tous deux mes amis. »
Marc-Antoine « Je suis navré de te mettre dans cette position, mais je t’en supplie ! Il vois en toi tous ses espoirs. Tu t’es enfui, tu as quitté une sécurité relative pour te replonger dans cette guerre. Tu l’as fait pour tes convictions. Jean-François te ressemble. Tues ses espoirs dans l’oeuf. Comme je le fais, mais avec douceur. »
George « Pourquoi ne pas avoir commencé par là ? »
Marc-Antoine « C’est évident non ? Ça n’a pas marché. »
