I don't want a 3rd szn without Izzy. I just don't. Call me dramatic or whatever, but I'm so genuinely heartbroken by his death. I feel so betrayed. Izzy was the heart of the show, and now he's gone.

The aftermath of his death felt rushed, he wasn't buried at sea (like what the fuck, a lifelong pirate like Izzy would've wanted to be buried at sea) and the crew was just happy to get back on the revenge and set sail without their unicorn? Everyone just gets a happily ever without Izzy? Izzy died a painful death shot by a pompous asshole and for what? Some metaphor about the end of the golden age of piracy? Piss off. Closure for Ed? That could've been achieved a number of other ways. Izzy couldn't get any assurances that HE was loved? Even on his fucking deathbed? The man who protected the crew with life and limb? It doesn't feel right, and it never will. Izzy deserved so much better, and so did Con.

And worst of all, perhaps, is that Djenkins was planning on killing him all along. The whole time, while we were falling in love with the little angry man, rooting for him and rejoicing when he wore makeup in front of the crew and was vulnerable with them...he was a dead man walking.*

*I've seen ppl make rlly good points about how death was treated throughout the show and I wanted to add that context here. If I can find whose post I'm thinking of, I'll tag them

**Edit: Izzy's death was an incredible shock. EVERYONE ELSE IN THE SHOW survived their near death experiences!!! Stede got choked near to death, stabbed (twice!), and survived all of that unscathed. Ed got his head smashed in by a FUCKING CANNONBALL, pumbled by the crew and made it out with barely a scrape. Even Calico Jack could've (apparently) escaped death after being shot with a goddamn cannonball. The Swede was poisoned but was already immune to it. Wow! We (at least I felt this way), as an audience, believed that there wouldn't be any character deaths due to the overwhelming evidence we'd been given thus far. So after alllll the in show evidence that the laws of medicine or physics don't apply to ANY of the pirates, why suddenly apply it when it comes to Izzy? Hmmm??? It makes no fucking sense. It's cruel and unusual punishment. They really killed off the queer disabled elder??? Jesus christ. Did not a single person in the writer's room have a qualm about it? The optics alone are bad. But more importantly, killing off the queer disabled elder is inherently political, whether djenkins thought of it that way or not (& i dont think he did). The mere existence of queer people is inherently political in a society (the US), which wishes for our eradication. So killing off a beloved queer disabled elder, on a show which seemed to promise us queer joy and a happy ending, IS POLITICAL. it's a slap in the face and a punch through the fucking gut.

It feels doubly awful because we, as an audience, were given something we've never had before, an unapologetically queer show. One that didn't soften or censor itself for straight viewers. It was created with such love, at least it felt like, for us. So to be given that gift, and to feel recognized and seen and appreciated, only to have it snatched away...

I can only speak for myself, of course, but it's genuinely heartbreaking. I'm so utterly disappointed. I wish so badly that Con got more time with Izzy. I think Izzy means a lot to him, and he means a lot to us, too.

Classes have just ended for the day and unfortunately, you forgot your umbrella. You thought about running as fast as you can or perhaps wait the rain away untill you heard a familiar voice. "Baby! Heyyy~" a sing songy voice called out and you knew who it was. A big hand touched your shoulder and you didn't have to turn around to see his face since he put ot right Infront of yours. Teel colored hair with a black stripe, miss-matched eyes that their form looks drippy, and of course - his big toothy smile! Who else could it be other than your boyfriend, Floyd?

"Hey love." you smile at him but then you are reminded of the terrible rain outside and search to see if Floyd had an umbrella on him. "Whatcha look for? Did ya drop something?" he looks around him to see if anything was on the floor that belonged to you "no no Floyd, I'm trying to see if you had an umbrella or not. It's raining really hard outside and I don't really wanna get wet.." He's face showed you that he infact, did not have an umbrella with him, and yours immediately showed disappointment. What are you both going to do if none of you had an umbrella? Even your puzzled expression doesn't compare to the face you'll soon make once Floyd speaks his mind..

"Can't we just walk in the rain?? it'll he funn!"

The face of complete shock you had once he said that- does he want to get sick??? Last time he was complaining about how, "getting sick will be the woooorsttttt!!" now it's "let's get sick" Floyd's mood swings really are unpredictable... "so? Do you wanna or not? I have a shift soon and I know Azul's gonna kill me.." your boyfriend's voice woke you from your thoughts and your concerns and you just went along with it. Who knows, maybe walking in the rain without something to shield you from the rain will be fun! So you take his hand and hold it firmly, without saying a word you walk with Floyd outside, into the harsh rain.

"If I'm going to be sick it'll be alllll your fault Floyd! You betting take good care of me then." Even though you know Floyd won't be much help if you did get sick, especially if the both of you did, you still had to put him up with the responsibility of taking care of you. After all, wasn't being taken care of by your lovely boyfriend the best cure? Floyd just gives you a big goofy smile that tells you that for now he is ready to take that responsibility, but who knows if he'll feel like it later on.. Not to say that he won't be concerned! It's just that he might lay down with you and cuddle. But it's not that bad so the two of you will take both options!

The second you both got out you were immediately hit with a ton of water. The two of you were dripping head to toe with rain water and it made the cold weather feel worse on your skin, yet it seemed that Floyd was having the time of his life! "This feels soooo~ great!! It's like I'm back home, but the water isn't salty!" He made sure that you could hear him, after all with all the sound of the rain falling and hitting everything it was hard to make out what a person would say if they used a regular tone. "Floyd I'm r-r-" not able to finish your sentence you sneezed. "Pffft- you look like those soggy cats with a grumpy face!" He beems, even though you knew ge was probably right you still hit him, playfully. Still, Floyd knows you are cold and not really fit for this weather conditions. So he doesn't want to keep you outside for too long. Floyd takes off the jacket off of his school uniform and then snakes an arm around your waist, keeping you close so he could get the jacket to cover both of your heads. "There. Now you won't get as sick as you could've, aaand~ I'll keep you warm!" Not like this actually warms you up, the thought is indeed nice.

Aren't you glad Floyd is your significant other?

You and Floyd were stuck to his bed in Octivile as the two of you cuddle. The both of are now sick after your fateful encounter with the awful weather yesterday, and now the two of you are keeping eachother warm and cozy as Jade prepars you both a nice soup to keep you warm.

What event within the course of the game had the biggest impact on your character(s) and why? Were they directly involved with it? Did the knowledge of it inspire them to do better? Did it leave them with scars they're not keen on talking about?

I'm just gonna answer for Yasha, (otherwise we would be hear alllll day.)

Yasha's biggest event, was the a bunch of little events that culminated into the main event. And that is meeting Tsuyu. Seeing the Imperial Viceroy as an amnesiac and with Gotetsu protecting her was a shock to her system. Up to that point, nearly all Garleans (and Garlean sympathizers) had been either a) soldiers that really didn't know better, or b) complicit officers in subjugation and conquest of other cultures.

So seeing Tsuyu made her wary, incredibly wary. But Gotetsu was a trusted friend and ally, so Yasha took his word to heart. She tried to open up to the vulnerable Tsuyu, and they established a good rapport. And Yasha, being the hopeless romantic she is, fell for yet another individual. Yasha never told Tsuyu, or her other partners about this falling in love. She thought that Lyse and Arenvald would not truly approve. (Fordola wasn't in the picture as a romantic partner yet.)

So when Tsuyu became Yotsuyu again, and summoned Tsukiyomi. Yasha was devastated. Yotsuyu remembered all their conversations as Tsuyu, but still Yotsuyu went down her broken path. Yasha, guilt-ridden over what could have been, did strike her down, and Yotsuyu remarked with her dying breaths that Yasha was too good to her, and that she would cherish their friendship, to the end.

Yasha was a withdrawn individual until Shadowbringers proper started, causing Lyse and Arenvald to be very concerned. But to this day, Yasha keeps this young blossom of love that she had for Yotsuyu locked deep in her heart. A yearning for what could've been. Those two wonder, but as Yasha still doesn't want to talk about it, they let the matter rest.

But it did open Yasha's eyes to not see things with the Garleans as so black and white. Leading to her being more compassionate to the peoples of Garlemald when their homeland was destroyed by Fandanial's schemes. Just one little love cut too short, brought about such wonderful change in her.

And it gave her no issues when Arenvald and Lyse brought Fordola into their polycule. Yasha welcomed Fordola with open arms.

honestly, I wish we could've seen more of the park. Maybe visited some rides, or listed off their names, maybe even had a lawsuit involved 👀 I'd also like to see rush's tree, and to be told that the theme park and it's characters stem from a cartoon in the fic. Or, maybe in the sequel? The readers don't need to know alllll the lore, only what's important and relevant :] have a great day

This one class I took in my first semester of last year was like, a giant group project so we were stuck with the same people for all of it, and I got put in a group with this one guy who was like a giant to me (I was actually so jealous LMFAO like why can't that be me ?!) but he was so nice to me. One time we were coming out of one of the library study rooms (which had a temp. regulator thingy inside) and they'd all agreed on lowering it cause it was really hot outside except I was literally fucking freezing like shivering & all that, so we go outside first while the other two guys are packing their stuff and I (trying to be normal and make small talk) was like "I was actually freezing in there it was so cold...!!" and he just went "? why didn't you tell us though?" and I had to pause like damn... why DIDN'T I tell them??? so I settled on "oh I didn't wanna be a bother while we were working haha" to which he laughed and told me to just say smth next time and I was like OK 👍 and it was probably annoying to deal with someone like me all the time but he was able to be kind about it still which I really appreciate T_T

Also one day we were all working through last period and since we all had to take the metro / bus, we walked in the same direction and just separated wherever, so at one point it's just him and me and his bus stop is before mine, and it's right next to a stoplight so we paused and he just sort of lifts his hand in the air and I look at it for an inappropiate amount of time (like 3 seconds when it was meant to be a 2 second interaction) and decide on raising my own, like mirroring it yk, and he just laughs and takes my wrist and makes us high five and I was like OHHHH OK lol and then we said goodbye and I went home.

Like sometimes I think Maybe we could've been friends... but then I remember 👆 that he already had a group of friends and they were all pretty outgoing and not necessarily LOUD but they were always laughing & stuff yknow... like friends do.... and I realize like man I would NOT have fit in at ALLLLL it would've been so awkward for everyone involved. sobbb

it was slightly funny when people were like "why are you not letting me report inappropriate blazed posts" and staff had alllll the options in the world they could've been like "oops sorry!" or "oh we need to implement that you're right" but instead they were like "no it's fine because we already promise we love that post. we already made our guy look at it and he said it was awesome and we should definitely take this person's ten dollars in exchange for circulating their suicide note" like hey maybe bragging about your human moderation team is NOT the right move when they're approving blazed pictures of spread assholes and stuff.

like yeah ten is arrogant and leaning into the whole mentality when he divides yuri & mia as unimportant vs brooke as important but like. a) it's ten lol b) again. he was raised to think about history in that way. he's just now allowing himself to break these rules. it could've been the first step in a process to realizing it's alllll bullshit, including the fact that there's such thing as little people. the ending of waters of mars doesn't do it for me in the "lesson learned" respect. we don't see what would've happened if brooke had lived, and we do see the news story of mia & yuri telling how brooke saved earth. which shows to me that history still changed bc of the doctor's actions. there aren't immutable "laws" of the universe. but bc what brooke does is horrifying to him (she kills herself based on what he had told her!) and then ood sigma shows up like a death knell, he thinks he made the wrong decision. (and he can't handle thinking he made the wrong decision, hello time war trauma.)

i think the concert situation is a really unfortunate misunderstanding that could've been mitigated at many points.

(for those who don't know, at the chicago show fans were once again cheering over the members talking which made kim lip cry and decide to sit out of the rest of the show.)

all of my opinions on what went down should be taken with a grain of salt since i wasn't at the show, but i'm thinking that this was mostly the result of 1) culture clash + 2) poor planning + 3) tech issues.

1) culture clash.

a friend who went to the la show pointed out how much talking and how little music was performed at the show. when we tallied it up, it worked out to be just over an hour of music vs 1.5 hours of speaking content. for a western audience, this breakdown is pretty unexpected/abnormal, and i could believe that it would cause some restlessness.

also, western artists generally don't encourage quiet at any point in the concert, so constant screaming/cheering is seen as normal. if a western artist wants to speak, they generally wait for the crowd to die down, believing that once the audience realizes that they're not speaking they'll start to quiet. my impression of korean crowds is that they're quieter, + as others have pointed out, loona is just generally less hyped in sk, so they're not used to audiences with this much energy. western fans also tend to implicitly associate screaming = showing love and support and louder screaming = even more love and support. it's not seen as disrespectful, it's seen as showing love, which importantly, is not universal at alllll.

so this is where 1) culture clash and 2) poor planning collide. a restless audience who believes that screaming = love combined with artists who have different cultural expectations clearly do not mesh well. if the concert was tailored to the audience, it would make sense to have more music + less talking but even more importantly, crowd training for the girls. if they had been made aware rather than just being thrown in the deep end this situation, from the restless audience to the end result, might not have happened. so i think bbc is to blame for that.

but importantly!!! given that it seems like the girls were given no crowd training, there was still another group that could have prevented this situation from happening!! while i don't think that fans were being deliberately rude (and i'll expand on why), the only thing that could've stopped the situation from worsening is if the fans shut up when it became clear that lip was getting frustrated. but they didn't.

3) tech issues.

fans were cheering for vivi after she finished speaking, and kim lip began to speak immediately after vivi stopped talking (so while fans were still cheering for vivi). because of a mic delay, it seemed like lip hadn't started speaking so fans continued to cheer for vivi. from the stage, it must've seemed like people were intentionally cheering for vivi instead of lip, and that's what made kim lip cry in the end. if the mic delay hadn't been as severe, the situation would've been clearer for the members onstage - i'd like to believe that the people cheering for vivi would've stopped faster. however, i have seen some accounts say that a group of 20 or so people continued to chant for vivi after the mic issues ended. if that's true, then that particular group was just plain rude. i still don't want to believe that it's intentional, that they were just caught up in the moment, but in this situation impact matters way more than intent.

4) moving forward.

i think this is pretty obvious, but for anyone going to the remaining shows, just dont cheer during the speaking parts!!! i'm sure lip and the rest of the members feel terrible (heejin even admonished orbits on fab) so i'm hoping especially hard that the rest of the shows go smoothly and respectfully.

tl;dr

1 - different cultural expectations between the audience and the members made things worse. bbbc could've mitigated this, but likely due to inexperience, did not. this was poor planning on their part.

2 - tech issues caused orbits to cheer while unaware that lip was trying to speak. this caused the misunderstanding that vivi akgaes were ignoring her.

3 - everyone should just shut up during the talking parts, especially since this has been an issue at every show thus far.

Wow. Okay. So I just finished chapter 11 of FY and I could've commented but I wanted to ask you instead. Apologies for anon. I am too shy. But, I really like how Holly was somewhat unlikable in the last chapters, like 9. It's something I don't see enough of, and I can see in your comments it caused a stir too. But then the way you handled her trauma at the end of 11 and how she recognizes her mistakes and feels sorry for them was really powerful. Did you intend for her to be like that? So good.

AHHHH I'm really glad you brought this up, and thank you for doing so! I haven't talked about For You for a while.

From what I can remember, it was intentional, and when you get to Chap 12, you'll see it's kind of like Holly's main redeeming chapter for her behavior.

Even in canon, Holly is fucked up. She's an orphan with a loving memory of her family; She's constantly belittled and undermined at her job; Her father figure is blown to pieces in front of her, and she is blamed for his murder; Her (my HC) mother-figure/inspiring figure Vinyaya was ALSO killed in front of her; Holly herself was killed and felt every piece of it; and then she witnessed her best friend outwit her and take her place to then die in front of her eyes.

So, cut to my fanfic. Ch 1 we see tensions between Arty and Holly as friends, and we know from ch 1-4 (and Luna Minor story) that Holly and Artemis had some weird animosity while he's in space. Holly feels a lot of guilt for not being a 'better friend' and not being attentive or not taking Artemis' side on things. Cut to Ch 5, with that whole convo, she DEFINITELY feels responsible for him and his illness now. Tie in that Angeline has paid her to cure his mental illness. Tie in that he was just abandoned by his family, and Holly feels like, at this point, she's quite literally the root of all his trauma and issues (she also blames herself for his childhood trauma when he adventured with her). After Artemis' confession, Holly kinda breaks, but holds on strong, as we know her character to be.

This cracks her at the end of Ch 8. Obviously, Artemis and Holly are back to being tense and Holly loses Artemis as a friend and roommate. She has been taking care of him since 5, but no one has really taken care of her. Holly hasnt talked to anyone. She doesn't see a therapist. She carries alllll this burden, all of Artemis' burdens, herself. And when he leaves, she can't carry herself up anymore, so she crumbles.

She becomes destructive in 9. Mean and callous to Artemis (also jealous), cold and using Trouble, a total cunt to Lili, and of course this all blows over when she hates herself for her treatment of both Trouble and Lili and totally smashes Gronk Moss apart, not just in Lili's honor, but also Holly's outlet is to unleash all her bs on him. It kinda works, until she realizes in 11 that it didn't, and now with everyone and everything back in place, she can begin to recognize and process what she's done and said, her flaws, her mean side. It's all built up with no real outcome, and she folds under the pressure Angeline puts on her when she threatens she'll never see Artemis again unless she does exactly as Angeline says (Remember this for chapter 20 😬😬😬)

So, yeah! No idea if you'll read this all 😅 I went a lil off the wall.
