So, I’m like 90% sure my English Professor is a Jason Todd Variant.

First off, he’s an English professor, but you must be thinking, Dude, men being English professors isn’t really special

Well, he also has Red Hair, Blue eyes and is from New Jersey. (Okok, I believe in black hair white streak Jason Todd supremacy, but bear with me)

He’s kinda built, And sure, he’s a little on the short side… probably 5’8” but like… he didn’t have access to a Lazarus pit

But like, he uses fancy words in the same sentence as ‘fuck’ and if that is not the most Jason Todd thing to do, Idk what is.

Maybe I’ll ask him about his favorite book or something, but like… later in the semester.

And I must admit that it reminds me of jason.

pairing: jason todd x fem!reader

a/n: this is jason todd with the white streak in his hair bC I MISS THE WHITE STREAK. also the reader has the power of empathy.

also, the reason i went this direction with it is because the lyrics remind me of what it be like to be with jason as red hood. he would lash out with emotion because he doesn’t know how to control them. and he’s still angry about the fact that bruce replaced him, and left him for dead. i hope that makes some sense! :)

summary: you’re boyfriend jason is acting suspicious, and you want to find out. you don’t know that he’s red hood.

warnings: a little angst, fluff, smoking, drinking, etc. this is basically a mini-fic.

walking into the bar, a cigarette smoke and booze aroma fills the air, typical for a bar. already feeling the stares and gazes of men that were looking for a good time. the skimpy outfit you were wearing catching the attention of men and women alike.

one man in particular caught your eye. wearing a brown leather jacket, a pair of blue cargo pants, and an angry expression on his face. blue eyes filled with resentment. walking over to the bar and sitting one seat away from him, you order your drink and sneak glances at him every once in awhile.

at one point he catches you staring and feeling a little bit bold, “what’s got you so angry, you look like you could take a load off.” smiling not-so-innocently, he turns to you and looks you up and down, “huh…if you’re looking for a one-night-stand, i’m not your guy.”

“who said i wanted to have sex with you? i just asked you a simple question, it’s obvious you’re pissed about something.” you snickered, trying to get him to loosen up a bit. “i mean, i’d like to sleep with you because you’re hot but-“, you ended your sentence there.

even though he still looked pissed, he gave a small smile. “it’s…complicated.” he looked back down at the bar as you move to the seat right next to him, “well…if you feel like telling me, i’m willing to listen.”

of course, jason being the big softy he is, looked at you. the innocence in your eyes, he knew you were being genuine, something that was really hard to come by now.

jason sighs, feeling himself break, who could resist a pretty girl like you? he didn’t know, he just knew it wasn’t him.

“okay, but not here.”

and that’s how you two met, probably the best part of the relationship.

and probably eight months of knowing each other, you became official.

at this point you knew about how he was a previous robin and was killed but brought back to life. you knew he was angry with batman for replacing him and leaving him to die.

the often times jason would have nightmares, you would comfort him, holding jason in your arms as he silently cried into your shoulder.

but it wasn’t always so cute.

he moved into your apartment, and sure it may have been extremely early on in the relationship, but both of you felt as though it was the best decision.

things started to get a little weird, he would stay out late, coming back between 4:00 A.M. and 6:00 A.M., and when he did come back, he was covered in bruises. he always tries to convince you that he was fine, but this was seriously worrying you.

the man you loved was going out every night and getting hurt, and was constantly lying to you.

you knew he wouldn’t cheat on you, and the bruises didn’t look like hickeys, so you ruled that out.

“jay? can we talk?”

you say leaning on the doorway of your bedroom, your boyfriend laying on the bed, looking like the fine specimen he is.

“yeah, what’s up?” he says looking up from whatever he was doing. jason pats the space next to him, inviting you to sit next to him. you sit in said spot and take his hand in yours.

“please be honest with me, what’re you doing on those nights where you come home really late at night?”

you look into his eyes, feeling his emotions change from content, to afraid. jason’s eyebrows furrow, pulling his hand away from you.

“i’m not doing anything.”

“really? because every time you come home, you’re covered in bruises, your lip bleeding, and you’re wearing this weird symbol on your chest. why are you lying to me?” you raise your voice, tired of the constant lies.

“it’s non of your concern!” in turn, jason raises his voice, acting defensive because he would hate it if you saw him for the monster he felt like he was.

“actually, it is! you’re my partner, my one and only, if we’re going to do this, you need to trust me!” you were almost yelling at this point, and jason wasn’t having any of it.

“IT’S NOT YOU I DON’T TRUST!” he snapped, soon realizing that he had scared you, seeing you flinch.

jason sighs, “listen, i’m sorry okay? it’s just if i were to tell you, you’d be out at risk just because of who i am. you mean too much to me, and i really don’t want to lose you.”

he feels a huge weight lift off of his chest, finally admitting that he felt like a monster for what he did.

jason puts his hands on either side of your face, leaning forward and pressing his forehead against yours. his white tuft of hair falling in front of his eyes.

“i understand that you want to protect me jason, but i can’t help but worry about you when you’re out every night, coming home with injuries, and i don’t know what you’re doing. you are the most important person in my life and the last thing i want is for something to happen to you.”

you lean in and kiss him softly, letting him know that you weren’t going anywhere. “if you don’t want to tell me right now, that’s fine, but please don’t lie to me, remember, i’m an empath.” you giggle and smile. he looks at you with so much love and adoration.

“i know, i’ll never get away with lying to you.”

“no, no you won’t.”
