upholding my tumblrs title but im thinking about this white guy who made my characters in art blender and it was like. atrocious. he made my two guy characters handsome which is fine, i suppose (one of them was like white 12/13 and pre puberty clearly but i let it slide since it wasn't god awful. his art blender thing of my hispanic character wasn't bad either, i actually liked it)

but oh my lord his art blender of my asian character felt like a hate crime.

she looked maybe 13 in it which is fine. she had imperfect skin, thick glasses, and slits for eyes. which on its own is a little iffy, but the fact that he made the white boy around her age (WHOS YOUNGER THAN HER ACTUALLY) have 'perfect', clear pretty boy skin and a perfect jaw felt so. wrong.

obviously the guy who made these was white. so i told him why this was messed up and why it made me uncomfortable. he acted like he was hot shit for understanding that he was in the wrong but whatever. it just baffles me to this day on how oblivious people are to underlying context when it comes to race.
