i think everyone should have a moment of disillusion with a creator they really like. not because of anything really wrong they do but just. an interaction that doesn’t go the way you think it will, a response from them that you don’t understand. a moment where you want to communicate something to them and they don’t hear it. it’s good for the soul.

Things that make some of my muses have to stop and just. Reevaluate their entire worldview for a minute.

Daniel: Going out on a hike or long drive, something that takes him into the continent and finding some picturesque overlook or pulling over in the middle of the Great Plains and looking at the seemingly infinite expanse of land. This is all his. He represents all of this. And at one point, he didn’t want anything to do with it. 

Noel: Hearing about the plight of foreign powers, be it a strained budget or political unrest of any sort, and the way his mind immediately starts going over ways he could potentially take advantage of that for the benefit of England. He doesn’t have to fight anymore, but every now and then he has to cringe over how absolutely ruthless he was once capable of being, and how on an instinctual level, it doesn’t seem to have really gone away. 

Bradley: He’s so quick to make jokes or take an offered situation incredibly lightly, which has fairly often led to an awkward conversation standstill where he realises too late he was a bit of an ass for a minute. He will tell himself he’s gonna slow down and try to think more before he speaks in the future. He doesn’t.

Gabriel: Rain. Anywhere, anytime, even just a cloudy sky and an uptick in atmospheric pressure has the hair on the back of his neck raising, and he’s going to start looking for anything in his vicinity that looks like it could be a flash flood hazard. The desert doesn’t soak up water quickly, and when it rains, it rains fast. When he’s away from home and in a more temperate environment, rain still solicits excitement and panic in equal measure. Desert rain is beautiful and dangerous and rare, and occasionally he has to just be emotional for a minute when he’s at a café in Paris and it starts sprinkling and no one does anything.

I've done so much research into Air Force Pararescure training and requirements that I've convinced The Forces That Control My Ads that I'm extremely interested in joining the Air Force/another branch of the US military. On the one hand, it's kind of amusing that research for my writing can cause something like this.

On the other hand, I just got 3 military ads in a row, and overall my ads have begun to skew towards conservative ideologies like forced-birth extremist politicians and pro-cop initiatives as well as various gun and "tac gear" advertisements (and I hate all of it, in case that isn't abundantly clear).

This is the problem with data-tracking for advertising purposes. There's no "actually, I'm not interested in any of this personally; I'm just hyperfixated on Sam Wilson right now, and I need to fact check this ten-word sentence that I'm going to end up cutting from the final draft anyway" button to prevent The Forces That Control My Ads from turning my daily internet browsing into a hell-slog of the conservative bullshit I'm actively trying to avoid both online and irl.

I'm vexed af about it.

After a inexplicable year long delay the Summer Olympic games are back on and with them comes the inclusion of skateboarding! I've got some feelings! Who better to complain about the Olympics than someone who will never be an Olympian anyway?
