New AU! Well, it's part of my whole Loth-Werewolf AU, I just really wanted to start writing the bit with a little puppy Ezra, so, I did that. This takes place ~10 before rebels.

Costumes I think the ghost crew would wear for Halloween (or a Star Wars version of the holiday)

- Ezra bridger: I think he’d go as ghost because it was easy and I think his older self would be a ghost as a morbid joke since they thought he was dead for a lil bit 💀 but fr? Prob a werewolf or a pirate if he and sabine matched for fun (not shipping although I have nothing against sabezra). I can also see him in a skeleton costume but ALSO HE WOULD GO AS LANDO HAHAHA. I think he seriously dresses up for Halloween. Like different costume every year. Except for after Kanan went blind. He was too “grown up” and “going through something” for it 🙄

- Sabine: Vampire. I feel it in my bones. That or a pirate matching with Ezra. I also see her painting her beskar to be temporarily Halloween themed. Something artistic.

- Kanan: I don’t think he’d dress up for Halloween. I doubt Jedi are super into costumes and he’s just never grown up doing it so it’s eh. I think it’s also because he gets embarrassed. Strangely, I think he’d wear a costume once after he went blind and reconciled with Ezra to up the morale for everyone. In this universe he is definitely not dead because I said so. If he did(or almost died), then also a ghost costume 💀💀💀

- Hera: I can see vampire as well for her, but I think her costume would be something boring like “rebel pilot” costume where it’s just her orange flight suit with a rebel helmet 💀. She’d think it was funny.

- Garazeb: He thinks he’s already scary looking enough so he’s the kinda guy that says “this is my Halloween costume wdym” if Ezra pesters him. In the Ahsoka series however, I seriously believe him and Kallus would have couples costumes. (Hera tried to get Kanan to do a couples costume ONCE and he shot it down immediately before you ask) What those couples costumes would be, idk.

- C1-10P: Chopper would definitely stick a Jack a lantern he carved himself on his head and call it a day. He would also chase Ezra with the carving utensils on purpose. Idk what plant a pumpkin would be in this universe tho.

- Jacen Syndulla Dume(? I’m adding that because I like the idea of Kanan and hera keeping both last names) Hera would think it was adorable to dress him up when he was a toddler (even if it was impractical) I bet she’d dress him up like a lil meillorun 😭. When he was older obviously he’d want to be a Jedi for Halloween even if Kanan is a little perturbed by being a kid’s Halloween costume.

That is all. My answers are final and I do not take constructive criticism. Unless you want to come up with couples costume ideas for Kalluzeb. Then I do.

I have yet to actually see a single episode of Rebels. So aside from gifs I've seen of certain scenes (mostly Ahsoka running into Anakin as Vader and Maul's final fight with Obi-Wan), I have little to no knowledge of what actually happens in it.

Before I start watching it, however, I want to make a list of the things I think I know and then do a little compare and contrast sort of thing once I've completed it. No need to correct me if I'm wrong on anything and I will ask for no spoilers (for the time being), but we'll see how well that goes.

Anyway here's what I think happens in Rebels based on the gifs, fan art and random other fandom related shit I've absorbed through osmosis:

The main character is Ezra Bridger and apparently he gets a boyfriend near the end of the series??? Good for him.

Kanan is Caleb Dume, Depa's padawan. He's the fan favorite.

Kanan gets married to a Twi'lek Rebel fighter named Hera. I'm very happy for them both.

There's a Lasatt voiced by Joe DiMaggio. I think. I've heard there are a lot of fart jokes related to him. I'm really hoping there isn't.

Ezra goes Sith for a period. Or like flirts with the Dark Side? Idk something emo is going on with him.

Maul kidnaps Ezra and tries to make him his apprentice. I assume this is the part where Ezra goes emo boy mode.

Sabine becomes Manda'lor. And then gives the Darksaber to Bo-Katan. Who then isn't the Manda'lor because she didn't win it via mortal combat? Idk, man, Favroni are on one with this bullshit.

Tarre Vizsla gets introduced in Rebels and he is the only valid Vizsla (besides Paz) to ever exist. I refuse to stop stanning our canon Mandalorian Jedi. Don't ever change, Tarre!

I don't actually know who Sabine is, but her design is very reminiscent of mid 2000s "cool girl" character aesthetics and it feels sorta aged to me. Regardless of this, I'm assuming she's a great character as I haven't really seen anyone shitting on her.

Ezra and Sabine are in a relationship? Were in a relationship? No fucking clue.

I think Obi-Wan mercy kills Maul in front of Ezra????? If that's the case, Ezra would technically be among the few people to know that Obi-Wan's alive and where he's hiding. I'm going to assume he's just keeping his mouth shut?

I've heard that Sabine is a lesbian??? I have no fucking clue what she and Ezra got going on then, but in this house we stan all queer identities so whatevs.

Thrawn makes an appearance. I somehow knew about Thrawn being in Rebels, but literally nothing else. Which is weird 'cause I remember reading the books as a kid but I've retained no memory of them. Anyway, looking forward to seeing his blue ass.

I think Ahsoka gets her badass codename "Fulcrum" from the Rebels show. I will be very happy if this is true.

Hondo Ohnaka tries to sell one of the main crew. Idk who. And I don't even know if this is even true. But I know this little rat man and I would be shocked if he didn't attempt to do something.

Kanan is part werewolf. I have no fucking clue what the lore explanation for this is. I just keep seeing shit that says he's a werewolf and I refuse to budge on this until I figure out otherwise.

WIP ask: Kanan Jarrus MD & Werewolf Kanan

Kanan Jarrus, MD

Synopsis: Young Caleb Dume is gifted when it comes to Force healing. Even after Order 66, he still can't seem to leave that part of him behind. So he adopts a new name and identity and becomes a medical doctor—a pretty damned good one, too—and sets up shop on Lothal.

His practice flourished though his income was only a fraction of what it should have been. The Empire’s stranglehold on the economy meant that life was difficult and expensive, and Kanan didn’t feel right charging the suffering citizens full price for basic care. So he bartered with them. A loaf of bread for a child’s cough medicine. Parts for his speeder bike from the mechanic whose broken finger he treated. Information about the rebellion from the wounded insurgents he let in through the back door.

Yes, Kanan Jarrus was a rebel sympathizer. And he did everything he could to help them short of dusting off his old lightsaber and throwing himself into battle. He had turned his back on the Force years ago, and he felt that he was doing more good here as a physician than out there fighting and running. But if they ever called upon him for help, Kanan would answer. Without question.

There was a group of rebels known as the Spectres, led by Hera Syndulla, a Rylothian Twi’lek and skilled pilot. Kanan had become very close to them since starting his practice. One day Hera showed up with a scrawny teenage boy beside her, an orphan who had been living on the streets.

“Our new crew member,” she said with a smile and a helpless shrug. “It’s been a while since he’s seen a doctor. Can you give him a checkup?”

“Absolutely,” Kanan said.

Ezra was remarkably healthy for having been homeless half his life. A little underweight and small for his age with a slight vitamin deficiency due to intestinal flukes, but Kanan eradicated the parasites with a stout dose of dewormer and then gave Ezra a booster shot—and a candystick, even though the boy was fourteen and didn’t even flinch when he was pricked. 

Hera paid for Kanan’s services by giving his ship, the Asclepius, a full diagnostic and fixing that rattling sound in the starboard ion engine that had been worrying him for weeks. 

It was a good arrangement.

Werewolf Kanan

Synopsis: A medieval/sci fi fantasy AU where two Jedi monks await the arrival of a former member of their Order—with Ezra as the virgin bait.

The temple was cold and empty. Ezra shivered and tucked his hands deeper into the sleeves of his robe. He kept his eyes moving, watchful. His ears picked up every little rustle and creak. Moonlight peered through the paneless windows and painted the stone floor a radiant white-blue. Ezra could see its crescent form slowly sailing across the starry night sky.

The beast would come tonight. Father Windu and Sister Billaba were certain. “It is the fourteenth anniversary of his fall,” they’d said. “He always returns to the temple on this night.”

“Who is he?” Ezra had asked them. “You talk like you know him.”

Father Windu and Sister Billaba had shared a sad look with one another. “He is old enough,” Billaba said. “He has a right to know.”

Windu sighed. “He was once like you, Ezra. An intelligent, gifted young man who was destined to join the Order. Then, fourteen years ago, we were ambushed right here in the temple during the evening service. Werewolves, at least six of them. Caleb was brave, but he was no match for even one of them. The red wolf, Maul as I am told his name is, grabbed him in his jaws and fled into the night. We thought Caleb had been eaten, but then he returned a few months later in the form of a werewolf and slaughtered the stableman, Okadiah. He had eaten most of his organs by the time we arrived and fought him off. I hear he goes by the name Kanan now.”

“Our Caleb died that night,” Billaba said in a tight voice. “The boy we trained and raised is no longer with us.”

Absolutely love the scene where kanan starts panicking when the Inquisitor and the Seventh sister take Ezra and the little moment that he has with Sabine after he tries looking fo Ezra! From Demons will come 'round (to hunt you again) from No Need for Open Roads series

Wolf's Heart

Chapter 4. Ezra

I dont know how long I was in that cell for, as there wasn't any real way to tell the time. Sometimes the wolf would come and sit at the cell door, either with food or just to stare at me all weird like. Like he was watching me, waiting for me to do a trick or something.

The wolf itself was huge, about as big as one of Kanan's horses. Its fur was a dusty black, sprinkled with gray. I could've sworn i saw tints of brown or red, but that could've just been blood. Its eyes were a deep molten gold, with a slight ring of red around the irises. Its triangular ears always seemed forever at attention, hardly moving. The fangs were as big as my hunting knife and stark white against the black of its lips. The tail was long and, when sitting or otherwise at rest, curled around its hind paws.

"Look" I said when i finally to be uncomfortable, "I'm not some circus animal. I'm not gonna do tricks or anything. If you're gonna kill me, just stop wasting my time and just do it already".

"Nobody said anything about killing you, boy. I simply like to watch, observe, and think. I would hope you see nothing wrong with that".

"Um...it's a little creepy".

The wolf sighed through its nose. "I suppose you prefer the other then?".

"The other? The old guy with the hood? Nah, you're both equals now as far as creepiness goes".

It rolled its eyes. "Fine. I'll leave you be then".

Before I could say anything, it was gone. Damn he was quick. When I was certain I was alone, I went ahead and pulled out a book to read. Sadly it was hard to concentrate on the story or even the words, as it all just reminded me of home

I didnt think I'd miss it so much, but I did. It hadn't even been a full week, as far as I knew. All I wanted to do was go home. Sabine was right; The wolf was a monster that needed slaying. I tossed the book at the wall of the cell in frustration.

"There's a shortage of good literature in the galaxy. It would be a pity to damage that" it was the hooded man.

"What do you want? Here to stare at me too?" I asked, my tone harsh and sharp.

"Actually...I came for conversation".

Conversation? Why didnt he just talk to the wolf? I eyed the shrouded figure suspiciously as he sat in front of the cell, still in the darkness.

"The wolf finally told me your name. Ezra...I like it".

"Thanks. What about you?".

"I have had many names over the course of my life. I don't remember my birth name. Most of my life I was called Maul. But I've tried to shed that image".

"Image?".

"That I'm some predator or something. It fit years ago, but now...now I wouldn't harm anyone unless they tried to harm me first".

This caught my interest. "You were a warrior once?".

"Many years ago yes. I was an assassin, indeed a predator of sorts".

Interesting. "So how did the wolf get you?".

"Always going back to him" I thought I heard a smile in that voice, "the wolf helped me after my brother's death. He helped me to defeat his killer, but now I am his caretaker".

"Youre a slave here. Well that explains a lot. But the wolf is just an animal isnt it? A really big animal, but an animal nonetheless".

I saw him shake his head. "No, he's more than that. He's a lycan, a werewolf".

"Then he can turn human?!" I stood up, "He'd be weaker! We can put an end to him!"

"But then you'd have to kill me".

"What?!".

"It's also a part of my debt to guard the wolf at his weakest".

I couldn't believe this! He could've easily turned on him, could've helped me! In anger, I threw my pack at the bars with a frustrated growl, causing all my stuff to fall out. He saw the one picture I kept of my biological parents and, before I could grab it, made it levitate to him. I felt myself pale a little. He was like me!

"Give that back!" I demanded, shaking off my surprise.

"Your parents, I take it?".

"What's it to you?".

"Just curious. They look nice".

"Give it back!" I Force-pulled it away, "Don't touch this! Don't ever touch it!".

I didn't know why I was so angry. I missed my parents, biological and adopted. I hated being confined, the feeling of being trapped. I wanted to be free. I heard something slip through the silver bars and I turned. It was a gloved hand, his gloved hand.

"I'm sorry Ezra. I didn't mean to offend or upset you"

I could see him a little. He had an odd, almost cat like face. He was covered in black markings, the skin between them red as blood. His eyes reminded me of the Wolf's eyes. I didn't say it aloud and, hesitantly, took his hand, squeezing it slightly.

"It's okay. I just miss home and...I hate feeling so confined...".

His eyes expressed sympathy. "How about this: I will speak with him about possibly letting you have a room here and spend time outside".

"You'd do that?" I asked.

"I can't guarantee a yes but I will certainly speak to him on your behalf. He seems curious about you".

"That.. would actually be great!" I already had a plan.

If I could get the Wolf to trust me, I could escape. Maybe not kill him, but I could get out of this mess alive.

"Excellent! I'll talk to him when he returns. I'll be right back with supper".

I smiled as I watched him leave. Maybe this would be easier than I thought. I ignored that still small voice however that said I was wrong...

Kuniya supposed xe could have just left the pup alone.

He wasn't part of xyr pack, even if he was part of the larger clan-pack, and he seemed to be handling himself just fine.

His father's species gave him a degree of safety he wouldn't have otherwise. To all others, he was just a human Loth Werewolf.

Sure there were rumors about his mother never going full human and what that could mean, but they had been easily brushed aside with her injury and the statement of that sort of transformation being too rough on her "human" body. Her sellout purple eyes were equally easy to explain away with some distant non-human ancestor.

Kuniya snickered, Mira had always been brilliantly clever, masterfully stealthy and impossibly strong willed. Or stubborn.

Maybe a little too stubborn. Xe thought.

It was her stubbornness not to abandon the settlers and come back to the safety of the pack that led her to her current fate. Arrested and taken away and most likely dead.

That stubbornness had orphaned her son.

She easily could have done the same, or even better work if she had left that cursed, noise, rancid smelling city. She could have turned her husband, the human would walk through lava for her, and raised her pup without issue with the safety of a pack, could have given him the support and family he needed. Loths didn't do well in small numbers.

Hell, Mira frequently visited even though she supposedly lived in the city with her husband.

Loths needed other Loths.

But, xe knew the clan-pack leaders had stopped questioning Mira's decisions long ago.

And it wasn't like xe was biologically related, (xe was as far from the pup as one could be without being from an entirely different clan) and therefore more obligated to take the pup in. Xe certainly wouldn't be expected to care for the pup themself, at barely fourteen, xe wasn't old enough yet.

So Kuniya could totally leave the pup and wait til some of his actual family came and claimed him. He had met them before and liked them well enough.

They would certainly do far better than the settler Mira had entrusted her son with. The filthy rodian had turned tail and ran straight to the Empire first chance he got.

The pup's pack would come for him.

It was fine.

The pup would be fine.

So why do I keep coming back?

Kuniya of course, knew the enormous risk of trotting into a city as a wolf in broad daylight, and while the blank slate-ness of humans made it easy for xyr to pass for one, xyr eyes and other less human features would give them away. Yet here xe was, crouching on the roofs with only a hooded cloak to hide them, risking everything to obsessively watch over a pup that wasn't even part of their pack.

To the rest of the galaxy, and most importantly, to the Empire, true Loth-Wolves were extinct. It was important to keep it that way while the species recovered and guarded their homeworld. And xe was risking it for this one pup.

Kuniya hadn't even been particularly close to Mira. Her son was hardly an acquaintance to xyr.

Xe felt that pesky tug towards the child again, the signal he unknowingly gave off. Since his birth he had been suspected of being gifted, all of them had some gift, others had it stronger. He was strong, growing stronger with age. Less controlled too. He was painting a target on his back by existing.

Kuniya knew there was more than that compelling xyr to watch over this pup, to take care of something so small and fragile that had been abandoned. To protect him.

Xe knew the pup's situation reminded xyr of xyr own.

To be young and have your parents stripped from you was something xe wasn't sure one could recover from. Though alone for a bit, xe had been quickly reunited with xyr pack, the wound scarred neatly. This pup had been alone for longer and betrayed. If xe didn't do something, that scar wouldn't heal properly.

And that was why xe was watching over this pup, just to keep an eye on him until he was found by his family and taken to safety, away from the leering eyes and taunts of those other than them.

And if that part of the pack was too busy or unable to provide for another pup, well, Kuniya certainly wouldn't mind having a little brother.
