Severe Winter Roof Damage
Tumblr media
Worried about how your roof will perform during the frigid winter months? Knowing how to prepare your roofing system for a challenging and freezing winter will help you mitigate and prevent common wintertime residential roofing issues.
Tumblr media
New Image Roofing Atlanta gathered information on winterizing your home’s roof for the winter months, damages caused by freezing temperatures and winter storms, and when to call your roofer.
Preparing Residential Roofing Systems for Freezing Weather
Your home’s roof is the primary defense against severe cold weather. Preparing your roof for extremely low temperatures is essential to its resilience and prevents potential costly damages. Consider the following strategies for winterizing your roof:
Inspect and Repair Shingles – Conduct a thorough roof shingle inspection. Look for any missing, damaged, or curled shingles. Replace or repair them to ensure a solid and protective surface.
Clean Gutters and Downspouts – Clean gutters are crucial for water drainage, especially during winter. Remove debris, leaves, and blockages from gutters and downspouts to prevent ice dams and water backups.
Tumblr media
Seal Roof Leaks – Address existing leaks (as quickly as possible) by sealing them with roofing cement or calling your roofer to fix them. Leaks can worsen during freezing temperatures, leading to ice formation and more significant damage.
Check Flashing and Ventilation – Inspect flashing around chimneys, vents, and skylights for visible signs of wear or damage. Ensure the roof’s ventilation system is unobstructed and functioning correctly to prevent condensation and ice buildup in the attic.
Read more about roof ventilation at newimageroofingatlanta.com/residential-roof-ventilation
Insulate Attic Space – Proper attic insulation is essential for maintaining consistent and comfortable indoor temperatures. Insulate your attic to prevent heat loss, significantly reducing ice dams and damages caused by freeze-thaw cycles.
Tumblr media
Trim Overhanging Branches – Overhanging branches can accumulate snow and ice, increasing the load on your roof and potentially causing severe damage. Trim branches away from your roof to minimize falling debris and ice accumulation.
Install Ice and Water Shields – Consider installing ice and water shields along your roof’s eaves. These shields provide an extra protective barrier against ice dams and prevent water infiltration during freezing conditions.
Remove Snow Accumulation – After snowfall, promptly remove accumulated snow from your roof using a roof rake. Excessive snow load can strain the structure, leading to potential collapses or severe structural damage.
Caution: Call your roofer before trying to repair your roofing system alone. Attempts to DIY roof repairs can void warranties, cause an insurance claim denial, and result in costly out-of-pocket expenses.
Damages Caused by Freezing Weather
Most weather-related damages can be prevented by acquiring a Roof Maintenance Program. A maintenance program helps you detect issues and correct them long before they result in costly repairs.
Ice Dams – A primary issue during freezing weather is ice dam formation. These dams occur when melting snow refreezes at the roof’s edge, leading to water backups and potential leaks.
Tumblr media
Freeze-Thaw Cycles – Fluctuations between freezing and thawing can cause shingles and flashing to expand and contract. This repetitive cycle may result in cracks, leaks, and overall roofing material degradation.
Condensation – Inadequate attic ventilation can lead to condensation in cold weather. Condensation can contribute to ice dam formation and compromise the roof’s structural integrity.
Snow Load – Excessive snow and ice accumulation on a roof can lead to a heavy load, potentially causing structural damage or even roof failure. It is crucial to monitor this accumulation and remove snow promptly.
Tumblr media
Brittle Shingles – Freezing temperatures can make shingles more brittle and susceptible to damage. Brittle shingles are prone to cracking, breaking, and losing granules, significantly reducing their effectiveness in protecting your home.
When to Call Your Roofer
Persistent Ice Dams – If you detect persistent ice dams despite your preventive measures, it is time to call your roofer. Roofers can address the underlying issues causing ice dams and implement solutions to prevent further occurrences.
Leaks and Water Damage – Leaks are urgent issues that require immediate attention. If you notice water stains on your ceiling or walls, or if you experience leaks during thaw periods, immediately contact your roofer.
Snow Accumulation Concerns – If you are concerned about the snow load on your roof or cannot safely remove accumulated snow, it is advisable to call a professional roofer. Roofers have the expertise and equipment to address snow-related issues safely.
Note: While snow accumulation occurs more frequently in higher elevations, more powerful winter weather systems have been known to drop significant snow at lower elevations.
Structural Concerns – If you observe signs of structural damage, such as sagging or bowing, immediately call a roofer. Structural issues pose significant risks and should be addressed promptly to prevent further damage.
Emergency Repairs – In case of emergencies, like sudden leaks or damage caused by extreme cold, do not hesitate to call your roofer for emergency repairs. Prompt action can minimize the extent of the damage and prevent further issues.
When filing an insurance claim for roof repairs or replacement, it is crucial to understand how your deductible works in relation to your policy and payouts on approved claims. Watch this video for further information.

Avoid Costly Home Repairs: The Importance of Regular Gutter Maintenance
Tumblr media
When it comes to protecting your home, few systems work as hard behind the scenes as your gutters. At Blackridge Roofing, we’ve seen firsthand how neglected gutters can lead to major — and expensive — damage. Whether it's a leaky roof, mold growth, or even foundation problems, the cost of ignoring gutter maintenance can add up quickly.
Routine gutter maintenance is not just a seasonal task; it’s a year-round responsibility that plays a crucial role in preserving the structural integrity and longevity of your home. If you're in Salt Lake, Utah, or Davis County, keeping your gutters in top condition is especially important due to seasonal weather changes.
Why Gutter Maintenance Matters
Gutters are designed to channel rainwater and melting snow away from your roof, siding, and foundation. When they’re clean and properly functioning, they prevent:
Water damage to your roof and attic
Foundation cracking or erosion
Mold and mildew growth
Damage to soffit and fascia boards
Landscape erosion and basement flooding
But when gutters become clogged or damaged, water overflows and begins to pool in places it shouldn't — setting the stage for costly repairs.
Common Gutter Issues Homeowners Face
Many homeowners don’t realize there’s a problem with their gutters until the damage is already done. Some common issues include:
Clogged gutters due to leaves, twigs, and debris
Sagging gutters from accumulated debris or poor installation
Leaks and holes caused by corrosion or storm damage
Improper drainage due to misaligned or undersized downspouts
Addressing these issues early through regular gutter repairs and maintenance can save you thousands of dollars in long-term repairs.
Seasonal Gutter Care: What to Know
Spring & Summer
In spring and early summer, inspect for debris buildup and damage caused by winter storms. This is the ideal time for professional cleaning and checking for any signs of rust, cracks, or loose fasteners.
Fall
Autumn is peak season for clogged gutters due to falling leaves. Regular inspections and cleanouts during this time can prevent water overflow and ice dam formation as temperatures drop.
Winter
Ensure gutters and downspouts are clear before snowfalls. Ice dams can cause significant roof damage if your gutters are already blocked or compromised.
Benefits of Professional Gutter Maintenance
DIY gutter cleaning might seem simple, but it often misses hidden issues like micro-leaks, improper slope, or loose brackets. Hiring professionals like Blackridge Roofing ensures a thorough inspection, proper alignment, and long-term performance of your gutter system.
We offer:
Seamless aluminum gutter installation
Expert repair of damaged or leaking sections
Downspout realignment and replacement
Full-system inspection for wear and tear
With over 50 years of combined experience, our team knows how to spot issues before they become major problems — saving you both money and stress.
Protect More Than Just Your Roof
Gutters are interconnected with many other parts of your home, including the roof, soffit, fascia, siding, and even your interior. When one part fails, others soon follow. That’s why it’s important to view gutter maintenance as part of a holistic home protection strategy.
In fact, at Blackridge Roofing, we also specialize in:
Roof repairs and replacements
Soffit & fascia repairs
Siding installation
Painting and remodeling services
So if our inspection reveals additional damage, we’re equipped to fix it all — no need to hire multiple contractors.

Fall Maintenance Checklist for Commercial Roofs in Jonesboro, AR
As the leaves begin to fall and temperatures drop, it’s time for business owners to prepare their commercial roofs for the challenges of winter. For those managing commercial roofing in Jonesboro, AR, fall is the ideal season for maintenance, as the mild weather allows for inspections, repairs, and preventative measures without the urgency brought on by storms or extreme cold. In this article, we’ll provide a comprehensive checklist of essential tasks to ensure your commercial roof is ready to face the winter months ahead.
1. Inspect for Damage After Summer Heat
Jonesboro’s hot summer weather can cause roofing materials to expand, contract, and deteriorate. This fall, inspect your roof for cracks, tears, blistering, or signs of UV damage like fading or brittleness. Addressing these issues early prevents them from worsening during the winter months.
2. Clear Debris from the Roof Surface
Falling leaves and debris during autumn can clog drainage systems, add stress to your roof, and create mold-friendly conditions. Regular cleanings throughout the season help prevent standing water and maintain your roof’s integrity.
3. Clean and Inspect Gutters and Drains
Blocked gutters and drains can cause water pooling, increasing the risk of leaks and structural damage. Keep your drainage system clear of debris, properly aligned, and free from sagging or rust to ensure water flows away from the building efficiently.
4. Check Flashing and Seals
Inspect flashing and seals around vents, skylights, and HVAC units for loose materials, cracked sealant, or signs of rust and water infiltration. Repairing or replacing compromised areas ensures a watertight barrier and prevents leaks.
5. Look for Signs of Ponding Water
Flat and low-slope roofs are prone to ponding water, which can lead to material deterioration, structural strain, leaks, and mold growth. Ensure proper drainage or consider solutions like tapered insulation to prevent water accumulation after rain.
6. Inspect the Roof Edge
Roof edges are vulnerable to wind damage, making it crucial to inspect for loose materials, rust, water stains, or gaps in flashing. Securing these areas now helps prevent costly issues during high winds.
7. Evaluate the Roof’s Insulation
Proper insulation is key to energy efficiency and preventing ice dams. Check for wet, compressed, or thinning insulation, and address any gaps. Upgrading insulation as needed can reduce heating costs and protect your building.
8. Schedule a Professional Roof Inspection
A professional roof inspection is invaluable for identifying hidden issues, accurately assessing your roof’s condition, and recommending cost-effective maintenance solutions. Trusted experts like Southern Roofing and Renovations ensure your roof is prepared for the seasons ahead.
9. Prepare for Winter Storms
Winter storms can bring freezing rain, ice, and snow, so prepare your roof by installing snow guards, applying weatherproof coatings, and reinforcing areas vulnerable to ice dams or heavy snow. These steps ensure your roof can handle harsh conditions.
10. Keep a Maintenance Log
Keep a detailed log of all fall maintenance and repairs to ensure warranty compliance, track recurring issues, and streamline planning for future inspections. A well-documented record protects your investment and simplifies upkeep.
Why Choose Southern Roofing for Fall Roof Maintenance in Jonesboro, AR?
At Southern Roofing and Renovations, we understand the unique challenges faced by commercial roofs in Jonesboro’s climate. Dante Headcannons
Tumblr media
AN- I love Dante, and this fixation on DMC better not go any time soon, as I have ideas.
TW: Sexual Assault
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dante always comes to your place, not his. He’s not embarrassed by the fact that he can’t keep the lights on, but he doesn't want you being a subject to the filth he does live in, and a target for demons, so it’s to keep you safe. However, what he is embarrassed about is his lack of ability to cook. He could try and cook pasta, and he’ll burn it to a crisp, so he’ll just watch you do it with a hint of calm in his eyes. It’s the closest thing he’ll get to a normal, domestic life.
If you ask to come round to his home, he’ll say that things need redoing and it isn’t safe for you and he’s terrible with money and so he hasn’t got round to fixing things. However, he isn’t terrible with money at all, he’s quite good with it actually, but it all goes to rebuilding buildings and covering damages he and demons have caused. Sure, it means having no lights, heating, or plumbing working properly, but he’s willing to take that over people not having a roof over their heads. He gives to people who are less fortunate than him and he loves it, the way that they look at him with so much glee and how many times that they say thank you for his humility, it gives him pride.
Touch is his love language, he isn’t one for saying the L word, if he could give you gifts, he would shower you with them. He will always try and touch you, if it's either by holding hands, having his hands on your thigh, his arm around your waist, he doesn't care, he just needs that touch for a number of reasons:
He is touch deprived. Dante didn’t know it until you hugged him for a long period of time and he just felt the need for that 24/7. The feeling of warmth that you give, the calming presence of you in his arms is so addicting to him.
Boobs. He is a boobs man and so if he's a big spoon, expect his hands to come up your shirt and to your breast and give it a little squeeze before keeping it there. He will obviously ask for consent first, because he is a man of consent. He needs it.
Talking about cuddling, he is one warm man. Sure, a lot of men are warm, but Dante? Dante is a walking lava pit. It does wonders in the winter, where you’re shivering and he slides into bed and this massive heat pad is behind you, warming you up. It’s heavenly. Summer, not so much. You wake up drenched in sweat and overheating, and if you’ve felt the British heat, well, you may as well be cooking like a BBQ. It doesn't affect Dante, or so he thought. One time, you put your cold feet on his legs and he was caught off guard with how cold they were, but also with how nice it felt to feel cool for once. It was divine. Now you have a system of if your feet are freezing, you’ll simply place them on Dante and the small chuckle comes out of him is to die for.
If he’s out on a mission, he will talk off anyones ears about you. Depending on how long you’re dating, he may just start calling you his wife. He reached that level of trust in you and love for you, girlfriend doesn't cut it, he needs you to be his wife. Fuck the legalities to it. If you call him, he will answer no matter what. If he’s in the middle of a fight with a few demons or even a high ranking demon, or even Vergil, he’ll just answer it and fight the demon at the same time. He never misses a call.
Dante is a goofy person, we all know this and everyone has written to it to some extent, however, I rarely see people touch on his vulnerable moments because he does have his moments of vulnerability, however it depends if you’re close to him to express what he’s feeling. If you’re someone like a partner however, it depends how long you have dated and how long you have known him. If you're dating, it will take him months and months to open up to you about his past, not just about his mother and who he is, but his trauma with sex and how he was repeatedly assaulted when he was younger. It takes a lot out of him to talk about it, especially because he’s not told anyone about it, but because you’re his partner, you deserve to know as it will affect aspects of your relationship, like sex. He’s not one of those people who jokes about his trauma, he jokes about everything else but that, it opened old wounds that he doesn't want opening. (It also sucks that not a lot of people know about this. It’s in the novels)
Music is a lot for Dante. He loves it, and so if he finds a song, album or a singer/band, he’ll show you it with a wide smile and look at you to see each and every reaction you have to it. When you’re cooking, he’ll have songs playing in the background, if you’re sleeping, some sort of music is playing, and if you can’t sleep with background music, he has headphones.

Fishing was competitive these days. It was a bad winter and an even worse famine, and with beef and poultry no longer in the shops, the villagers were forced to turn to the shore to fish.
Your little village was nestled on a plateau of land that stuck out into the cold sea. The shore was lined with big, black rocks that had tumbled down from the looming hills over time and landed at the water’s edge with only a thin strip of grainy brown sand between them and the water. Travelling down to the shore over all those rocks was already hard enough, but it was even harder when you had to carry your boat on your back.
People had tried to carve trails through all the rock to make the beaches more accessible, but with all the storms that the area faced, the rocks just got tussled back around and demolished any trails attempted.
In fact, it had just stormed the night before. It pissed rain and spit wind so hard that people woke up to holes in their roofs. Naturally, the beach was all torn up from it, but it would always clean itself up and go back to the way it was at some point before another storm came along. And while most people were at their cottages fixing the storm’s damage, you saw this early dawn as a prime opportunity to fish.
Fish had also been scarce recently because of all the people turning to the water for food sources, but you knew that the previous night’s storm had tussled the waters, which meant the fish were probably scurrying all around. The sun hadn’t even risen yet as you dragged your wooden boat down the rocks in the dim dawn hue, the wood scraping loudly against the rock’s hard and bumpy surface.
Managing to get down the rocks without twisting your ankle, you finally plopped down into the pebbly sand with a huff of breath, pushing your boat off your back. This was only half of your journey, though, because you weren’t even going to fish here on the beach like most people did.
Adjusting the leather strap around your neck that was holding your oars to your back, you dragged your boat through the damp sand to the rickety wooden dock that stood beside the lighthouse. The lighthouse was even more rickety, since no one bothered to upkeep it since this beach was the worst beach for ships to come in at. They almost always hit the rocks because of how deep the water dropped off from the shore and how thin the strip of sand was.
You pulled your boat to the very end of the dock and then threw the oars down in it, and then your bag of fishing gear, along with your pole. Taking a deep breath, you prepared yourself as you began pushing the single person-sized boat into the water. When it finally was fully in the water, you quickly jumped into it, causing a splash and a stressful cracking sound as you struggled for a moment to catch your balance. Finally, you sat down in the boat and let it settle before getting your oars and rowing yourself towards your destination.
There was a little cove area almost like an island to the east of the plateau of land. It was your favorite spot to fish because hardly anyone knew about it. It was barely visible from the shore even during a normal day, but it was completely out of sight on this extremely foggy, dark morning. The fog became more and more dense the further you rowed out into the water, until finally you were completely blinded.
“Fucking hell,” you murmured, reaching into your bag for your compass. The fog had completely surrounded you now to the point where you couldn’t even see the front bow of your boat. It was getting colder further into sea, too. Though the air above was tolerable, you couldn’t imagine how cold the water below felt.
The salty, wet air clogged your nose as you finally felt the cold round of metal in your hand, bringing your compass out of your bag. Sniffling from the cold air, you tried to adjust and read your compass when you suddenly heard something behind you—a voice.
Gasping, you whipped around to look behind you but only saw the thick white of fog. The voice had been shrill and steady, calling out some sort of smooth singsong noise that echoed over the water.
And then you heard it again, clear as day, right in front of you.
Snapping back around, you still could see nothing but the fog, yet the voice was still echoing all around you. It was a single note drawn out, not quite a shout or a scream, just an eerie note drawn out through the fog. Chills overcame you, but not from the cold.
Setting your compass down on the boat’s bottom, you grabbed your oars and began to quickly row towards the east. The fog seemed to be squeezing in on you now, some of it even spilling over the edge of the boat like thick smoke. Your heart was pounding—you couldn’t see where you were going, and you could still hear the voice in the back of your head. You wanted to get to the cove fast.
Suddenly, the wooden oar in your left hand stopped against something. You paused and looked over—you weren’t even able to see the paddle of the oar, only the handle you held. You tried to move the oar, but it wouldn’t budge. What could it be stuck on? Even though you couldn’t see, you knew you weren’t at the cove by now, and you were still heading east so you hadn’t drifted back to the plateau. These waters were so deep, there certainly was nothing your oar could be stuck in.
It was when something tugged your oar right out of your hand that you shrieked and jumped so hard that the boat rocked, icy water splashing onto your legs. With your left oar gone, you quickly used your right oar to haphazardly row forward, having to switch it over to the left side to keep going straight, more of the cold water splattering over you. Though you were crippled now with only one oar, you were so afraid that you rowed even faster than you normally would with two oars.
Though your arms ached, you kept rowing as fast as you could until finally the fog started to thin out. You were starting to break out of whatever thick cloud of sea fog you had been stuck in. It felt like you could breathe again when finally you pushed forward completely out of the fog, letting your tired arms go limp as you looked behind you at the cloud of fog. You searched for the silhouette of another boat but saw nothing. What the hell had grabbed your oar?
Turning back around and taking a deep breath, you swiped your forehead with the back of your wrist—now your body was so hot it was steaming in the cold air. Looking ahead, you could finally see the cove just a little ways away.
Glancing to either side of you, you saw nothing but black water. These waters were always dark, mostly because of the black rock and black mud, but it was completely opaque now. All you could see was reflections of the dim grey sky above you and your own face distorted in the lapping water. You wondered what was below it—something that now had your oar, certainly. Shaking your head to rid yourself of the paranoid thoughts, you rowed on to the cove.
The cove was a U-shaped island that looked like a fragmented piece of the plateau your village was on—all black, rocky shores with limited sand, a cluster of dark, woody trees behind it that shielded it from the nothingness of the sea. The shape of the U was wide enough that the cove water leading up to the center of land was deep enough for fish to live. It was the perfect fishing spot, especially the further one went into the cove so that the island’s rocks and trees surrounded them.
Finally, you got to your favorite spot tucked further into the U shape where you were surrounded by the island, and you rowed your boat carefully until it was finally still. You glanced around the island—it was a little spooky in the foggy, dark morning. The trees were blackened, fog stuck all in them. The big rocks were an even darker black from the wet morning, and where there was usually a strip of sand, there was only a bunch of pebbles and rocks that must have been pushed onto shore from the storm. Sometimes, you would sit on the sand and enjoy the quiet alone, but you couldn’t imagine sitting on all those rocky pebbles.
You set up your fishing pole and cast it into the black water, setting the pole against the side of the boat while you opened your fishnet and made it ready for fish. You had even brought a little breakfast along—a pathetic piece of bread with a slice of cheese. Holding the end of your pole between your feet, you relaxed against the boat and ate your bread and cheese.
It took a minute before you got your first bite, bringing up a thick, silvery fish out of the water and tossing it into your net before recasting your pole. You were able to get three fish before suddenly they just stopped biting.
“For fucks’ sake,” you cursed like a sailor, bringing up your pole out of the water to see that something had taken the worm off the hook, even though you didn’t feel a fish bite. “Greedy fuckers. I’m tryin’ to eat, too.” You took another worm from your bowl of bait and stuck it onto the hook.
And then you heard it again.
It was the same shrill voice, but this time, it sounded like an eerie, angelic song. You froze. The voice lilted, echoing through the trees of the cove. This time, it wasn’t just a single note—it was words you could barely make out, but they were there.
Voda glubokaya i golubaya..
Your breath hitched in your throat. You lifted your head, eyes wide, and slowly looked around, seeing nothing but the black faces of the rocks and trees looking back at you.
Ya smotryu na tebya svoimi krasivymi glazami.
The voice was beautiful, etching out every syllable of the foreign language like poetry. It echoed over the waters in a whisper, filling your ears like honey. You held your breath. You wanted to ask who was there, who was singing, but there was a buzzing sensation through your body like fear, but something different. It was like the voice was reaching through your ears and into your brain, its angelic fingers scratching and poking and twisting your brain around until you were in a dumb daze.
It was when you noticed something in the corner of your eye that your fear came through more prominently. The water, black and opaque, to the side of your boat was rippling with motion. It wasn’t the bubbles of a fish. It wasn’t movement from your still boat. The water rippled from one end of your boat to the other, pausing between ripples like something was swimming right there. But you couldn’t see anything.
Your lungs ached as your breathing picked up, yet you stayed completely still. You watched the water ripple around the bow of your boat, and down the other side. It was circling you, and it was entirely too large to be a fish.
Podoydi blizhe, i ya ispolnyu tvoye zhelaniye.
The voice came again, filtering through the cove’s forest, over the rocks, right into your ears. You don’t know why, but you found yourself slowly leaning over the boat’s edge, peering into the black water that rippled as something swam below it. Your vision became hazy. Your skin felt numb all over. Your heart pounded dangerously fast.
Podoydi blizhe i ya tebya potseluyu.
You barely processed the sound of something brushing the side of your boat before you felt the hard vibration of something hitting the underside of your boat, something big enough to rock it.
“Woah!” you cried out, grabbing the sides of the rocking boat. You tried to get to your feet, but something hit the underside of your boat again, and it tipped over.
You had never felt such cold. The splash of your body hitting the water, and then the water flooding your ears, deafened you like the sound of glass shattering from inside your head. It struck your entire body like lighting—pure, icy shock and arctic pain. It almost felt like your bones cracked upon impact like a frozen branch falling off a cliff.
You couldn’t move as your body sank under the freezing black water. You opened your eyes, felt the cold freeze over your eyeballs. You saw nothing at first and wondered if you were dead, or even worse, struck blind from the freezing water. When you could finally see dim light filtering through the water, as much light as the cloudy early morning could give, you realized you weren’t blind. But the water was so cold, too cold to move. You tried to move your arms and legs, but you felt stiffened, shot with pain.
As you stared into the sea of black and tried to clench your frozen muscles, you saw a shadow forming in the water beyond. You could do nothing but watch with fear as the shadow formed into an unrecognizable silhouette.
Quickly, you glanced up and could see the shadow of your boat flipped upside down on the water’s surface above you. You didn’t realize how deep down you were. Even if your body was working again, it would take a minute for you to reach your boat.
You looked back in front of you. The shadow was closer now. You attempted to flail your arms and were able to move them a little. You screamed through your closed mouth, your lungs burning for air.
The shadow came into the glare of light in the water, and your scream intensified.
It was a woman, or something like it. A woman’s head, and neck, and chest, and torso, and waist, but right where her hips stopped, something else started. Where her thighs would have been separated and covered with skin, they were welded together and covered with scales. It was some sort of a fish tail attached to where the lower half of her body should’ve been. Instead of skin and legs, she was dark red and black scales on a long tail with a finned end that gently undulated in the water to keep her floating. Her tail almost sparkled in the light. It was so dark, but you could see hints of a deep ruby color between the dark scales. Her chest was bare along with the rest of her upper body. Her hair, a dark brown with reddish tint, bowed above her head in the shape of an obsidian flame. Her arms floated beside her elegantly, and you noticed her fingertips were black.
Then there were her eyes. A deep red like the color of her tail. Too much white between the bottom curve of her pupils and her lower lashes. Darkened around the lids with some sort of black paint. Even in the darkness of the water, the red of her irises caught you. Even in the fear, there was beauty. She was haunting, and her eyes stared you down like you were her food.
A mermaid, you thought. You’d only ever heard of them when the sailors of your town made it back from faraway fishing trips. Everyone had chocked the stories up to oceanic hallucination, but now here you were, face to face with one.
And then she smiled. And her teeth were ivory white, and in the middle of where there were some human teeth, there was rows of sharp fangs like blades. Her smile was uncanny, unsettling, evil.
And then you realized she wasn’t a mermaid.
Another choked, muffled scream bellowed out from your burning chest when she darted forward. You could feel the vibrations in the water when she swished her tail in a boast of strength, her hair darting behind her as she surged forward through the water with ease. Her eyes seemed to darken.
Screaming as much as you could underwater, you suddenly found that your muscles had defrosted with your fear. You swam upwards, kicking and thrashing as much as you could, your body fatigued from the cold and the lack of oxygen. Your muscles burned and quivered as you overworked them, your lungs aching, your throat burning, vision growing dark until finally you burst above the surface, gulping down a large breath of air and several more after that.
You didn’t have much time to breathe because you became aware that the siren was still below you. Looking around, you saw that your boat had floated too far away, and the nearest place you could go was the shoreline several yards away.
Before you could make a break for the shore, you noticed how quiet everything was. The siren could have easily grabbed you by now. You tried to look into the water that splashed up on your chin, but it was still black. A soft mist came down from the bleary sky, further wetting your head.
What if she was right below your feet where they kicked obscurely in the water? What if she grabbed you and dragged you down? Just the mere thought made you start to slowly float your way towards the shore. Maybe the siren was just like a shark, and it was only sudden movement that made her attack.
You kept slowly swimming backwards, craning your head all around to get a comprehensive view of the water’s surface around you. There was nothing. No swishing of water at your feet. No ripples on the surface except the ones you caused. Not even any bubbles.
Was she gone? Had she decided you weren’t worth the trouble? Or were you just hallucinating? Maybe this was the oceanic hallucinations everyone said sailors had. Maybe all that fog had made you paranoid.
Your body was rocking with how icy the water was, though you just felt numb now. You looked behind you at the island, wondering if you could seek shelter in the trees until someone came looking for you, or maybe you could make some sort of flotation device out of something. That was silly. Your best bet would be to go back to your boat and hand-paddle your way back home.
As you turned your head back around towards the direction of your boat, you gasped and froze.
There the siren was. Only the upper half of her head was above the water. You saw her hair, much more reddish now in the light, slick to her head. Her forehead, speckled with droplets of water. Her red eyes that seemed to reflect a glare of red on the surface of the water in front of her. Beyond that, only the bridge of her nose, the end of it under the surface. She was completely still, as if she was standing on flat ground. She was only maybe two feet away from you.
“P-p-p-p,” you tried to speak, but your body was convulsing from the cold, your lips numb and blue. “Please,” you whispered in a croak. It was getting hard to breathe as the harsh cold invaded your blood. You were begging for your life because, in the haze of your hypothermia, you recognized those eyes.
You’d heard stories from the village sailors about a particular siren. You’d seen her image sketched in books. Always those red eyes, that red tail. This wasn’t a mermaid, and she wasn’t just a siren. She was the deadliest ocean creature that all the myths and legends described. She’d instilled fear in children of your parent’s and even your grandparent’s generations just through stories of her malice. She commanded every corner of the seas, and sailors who were superstitious enough always kept an eye out for her during their voyages, lest she take them down.
She wasn’t a mermaid. She wasn’t just a siren.
She was the Scarlet Siren.
Somehow, she knew you recognized her. Maybe it was the look on your face, or the way you froze. She stretched her lips open in a charming yet malicious smile. And then slowly, inch by inch, she slipped under the water.
Letting out a choked scream, you quickly turned back towards the shore and started to swim. Your heart felt like it was going to rip right out of your chest if the Scarlet Siren didn’t do it first.
When you were halfway towards the shore, thrashing the water and letting out choked breaths, you suddenly felt hands grab your ankles and yank you beneath the surface.
You thrashed under the water, your long hair coming undone and floating around your face as you watched the Scarlet Siren come closer to you. You kicked at her so hard that your shoes came off your feet, your foot hitting her tail and feeling the fishy scales there.
The Siren’s hands were climbing up your body, grabbing at your coat and pulling it off as you spiraled in the water, trying to get out of her hold. Finally, you were able to kick her tail hard enough that the force sent you popping above the surface like a fish. You were able to take one gasp of air before she pulled you right back down again.
This time, the Siren growled and nosedived towards your waist, her teeth clamping down on the fabric of your shirt. You squealed as she ripped your shirt off with her teeth, the fabric so easily tearing. The blades of her teeth had caught the skin of your belly, four long scratches bleeding through your pale skin, the blood clouding in the water. The Siren paused at the sight of your blood diffusing in the water, distracted enough for you to kick her in the face so hard that she turned downwards in the water.
You took your chance to swim, popping up through the surface and pushing yourself harder than ever. The shore was right in front of you. Your body ached and the skin of your stomach stung, but you kept going until finally your fingers touched black rock.
Coughing up water, you lifted your body onto the pebbly surface, the blood from the scratches finally able to drip down your skin, the red following the lines of water on your waist. You flopped onto your back and pulled yourself more onto the shore.
You knew it wasn’t over. The Siren’s head popped out of the water, and her hands grabbed your ankles again. You cried out and tried to kick, but she held your legs down as she lifted herself completely out of the water.
You watched the Scarlet Siren crawl over you, her strong arms planting down in the rocks on either side of your head, entrapping you. The shockingly heavy weight of her tail crushed your legs down on the rock, the smell of ocean filling your nostrils. It felt like the end of your life. You thought to yourself, as the Siren laid herself over you, that this was what rabbits felt like with dogs. This is what lambs felt like with lions. Birds with cats. Fish with fishermen. Sailors with sirens.
“Now, what’s a pretty girl like yourself doing all alone out on these waters, hmm?” Her voice was shockingly heavenly, smooth like butter and sweet like a bird’s song. It caught you off guard and somehow made you more afraid. There was also some sort of foreign accent laced in her words, somewhat Slavic. How could a monster like herself look so beautiful and sound so sweet?
You could only make incoherent noises as you watched the Siren’s tail start to morph. It ripped itself apart, and the scales sunk inwards, and the flesh shaped itself into the shape of a human woman’s legs, and pale skin etched itself over them. She was now the sight of a fully human woman, naked and lain over you, except for her razor teeth and red demonic eyes and murderous intent.
“Do you know who I am?” she asked more seriously, her eyes flickering over you. Her underwater tactics left you in only a brassiere and fisherman pants.
You were shaking from the cold, but her body felt surprisingly warm on yours. Fear had overcome you, leaving you dumb and pathetic.
“Please d-don’t kill me,” you cried, tears rushing down your cheeks.
“You didn’t answer me, detka,” she continued calmly, bringing a hand to your chin and holding it. Her skin felt inhumanly smooth. “Do you know who I am?”
Breathing heavily, you squeezed your eyes shut. “The S-Scarlet Siren.”
The Siren puckered her lips. “What a demeaning term. My scales are more maroon, don’t you think? My name is Wanda.” She paused, pressing the pad of her thumb into the dimple on your chin. “What’s your name, pretty girl?”
You didn’t answer. She trailed her hand down your stomach, smearing the blood there before she grabbed hold of your pants. Sitting back on her knees, she started to yank them down. Instinctively, you fought her, trying to kick her away.
“Stop!” you screamed loud enough that a few birds from the forest cawed and fluttered. The Siren pursed her lips and used her strength to pull your pants off, but you flopped onto your stomach like a fish and started frantically crawling away.
“Stop it, human,” she growled, grabbing the back of your thighs and dragging you back down the rocks. Using the opportunity, she ripped the last of your clothing off, your brassiere, and threw it to the side. Grabbing you by your wet hair, she turned you back onto your back and lowered down. You were face-to-face with her now, about to try and push her off until she opened her mouth.
Voda glubokaya i golubaya.
YA smotryu na tebya svoimi krasivymi glazami.
Podoydi blizhe, i ya ispolnyu tvoye zhelaniye.
Podoydi blizhe i ya tebya potseluyu.
It was the song you’d heard earlier, before your boat tipped. But as she sang it this time, that buzzing feeling within you grew stronger. Her honey-like voice lilted in your ears as she sang, and you found yourself leaning upwards. Her red eyes, glowing now, watched you tremble as you weakly lifted yourself, your own eyes growing wide as she entranced you. You were very easy for her.
Smiling through her song, she snaked her arm under your waist and easily lifted you up, pressing your bare body to hers. You were so cold against her, so feeble and weak. Your eyes trained on her lips, your irises glowing red from her magic flowing within you. She could feel your mind breaking down, letting her in, growing weaker and weaker. Finally, you closed your eyes and leaned up to kiss her. The Siren held your head with her large hand and kissed you softly, her lips smooth and slippery.
Her song was how she got her victims, but her kiss was how she trapped them. You were under her will now.
Breaking the kiss slowly, the Siren laid you gently back down on the rock. “It’s much easier when you’re calmer, detka. Now, tell me your name.”
“Y/n,” you whispered inaudibly, but the Siren’s ears were trained enough to hear you.
“Y/n,” she repeated in her lilting voice, smiling with her sharp teeth. “You’re the prettiest one I’ve ever caught, y/n.”
Her eyes raked down your limp body that she held in her arm, her free hand pressing against the bloody scratches on your tummy. She gathered some of your blood on her blackened finger and lifted it up to her mouth, sucking your blood off her long finger. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head like a reptile.
Though you felt paralyzed, there was still some consciousness left in your head. You were starting to realize that there was a reason sailors didn’t let their women on their boats, and that the reason was hovering over you.
“You’re right, beautiful girl,” she purred, “But don’t even think about those other human women. You’re the best one of them all.” Her voice had an edge of malice, and it was sickening to hear it through the sweet, complimentary tone.
Her red eyes flickered back to the scratches on your tummy, and she leaned down, letting her long, snaky tongue slither out of her mouth and onto the scratches, licking up your blood. Her breath fanned over the expanse of your stomach, covered in goosebumps. Her hands gripped either side of your ribcage as she grazed her mouth over your stomach, landing on a spot off to the side before digging her teeth into your flesh.
“Ah!” you screamed out, feeling all the blades of her teeth stab into you. She let go, revealing a bloody bite mark on your torso.
“So sweet and fresh,” she growled.
A particular wave of water came up aggressively onto the shore, rolling over her ankles and causing scales to appear before the water receded and human skin covered it again.
The Siren moved to your chest, her large hand grabbing one of your tits and squeezing while she rolled her long, thin tongue over your nipple, her siren eyes flashing up at you. You squirmed, whimpering from the pain but also from another uncontrollable emotion. You were entranced by her, under her will, and had no control over any feeling she gave you emotionally or physically.
Moving her mouth to your other breast, she sunk her teeth into the mound of flesh, causing you to cry out again. You attempted to lift your arms to fight back, but she quickly snatched them and pinned them to the sharp rocks.
Voda glubokaya i golubaya.
YA smotryu na tebya svoimi krasivymi glazami.
Podoydi blizhe, i ya ispolnyu tvoye zhelaniye.
Podoydi blizhe i ya tebya potseluyu.
She sang again, her voice filling you as she gave you more bites between each lyric, blood now dripping down your sides. You were dizzy, from the blood or the trance or the entire situation, and helpless. Your blood was smeared across the entire lower half of her face, dripping from her chin, staining her razor teeth as she grinned. It was so strange, seeing a monstrous look on such a seductive, beautiful woman.
When the Siren glided her tongue down the center of your stomach, you felt a twitch within you. When her hands gripped your hips and scratched downward, coming to grab your tender thighs and spread them open, you obliged. You felt hotter now, as if steam would start rising out of your body into the cold air. There were already billows of fog coming out of your lips with each breath.
“Such a delicate angel,” the Siren purred at you as she lowered her body down. As she settled her elbows over your thighs, her legs tucked back into the water. The waves gushed over her bottom and onto her lower back, and when it receded, she had a tail again, halfway resting in the water, the crimson fin on the very end flipping up in the water instinctively.
You were naked, bleeding on the rocks, being overtaken by a Siren, the Scarlet Siren no less, but you felt overcome with a pleasurable sensation. It was a mix between drunken and sexual as the Siren licked her tongue over your thighs.
When she had you to a point of gyrating your hips for her, she finally put her mouth over your core, sucking on your sensitive nub immediately. You cried out, grabbing onto rocks as she suckled on you, causing arousal to already slowly gush out of you.
Her tongue was long and thin and bumpy, so when she lapped it over your slit and then pushed it deep inside you, you nearly went blind. She snaked her tongue in and out of her, her hands grabbing your thighs harshly as she forced your legs open wider, moaning onto your clit. She seemed hungry, ravenous, as she devoured you, and you felt the terrifying hardness of the very edge of her teeth almost hitting your sensitive skin every once in a while. You could tell that she had done this before, and you wondered what number you were going to be in the list of women she had killed.
“Ah!” you cried out, feeling yourself coming close already. The feeling was something entirely different, and before you knew it, you were clenching around her tongue and crying out, your body arching off the rocks.
“So delicious,” the Siren hissed when she retracted her tongue, staying where she was between your legs while you panted and squirmed. “And so tight.”
Without warning, she placed four fingers in a row at your entrance. You swallowed hard, your consciousness breaking through a little to fight back by thrashing around. You tried to close your legs, but she was amazingly strong.
The Scarlet Siren opened her mouth to sing her song, and you relaxed involuntarily. You could only scream when she forced four of her fingers into you. The pain was dizzying, along with all the blood you’d lost, and you were halfway unconscious as she stretched your cunt out around her fingers, forcing you to take all four of her unnaturally long digits. Your walls resisted, but she kept thrusting, lapping up any arousal and blood along the way. She bit into your thigh, rubbed her face in the wound and curled her fingers inside you, watching you tremble and squirm dumbly.
You finally started to come to when the pain went away, pleasure taking over. The stretch felt otherworldly, her tongue flicking your clit and lapping at it, fingers pumping deep and hard into you so that it was all you could feel. Besides the gentle waves of the water near you, all you could hear was the squelching noises that she committed on you. She devoured you and fucked you eagerly, hungrily, like an animal, becoming more and more carnal the more she had of you.
When your second climax crashed over you and you convulsed uncontrollably, whimpering and screaming and thrashing, the Siren chuckled victoriously between your thighs.
When the climax left you, your body dropped limp on the rocks. Your vision went blurry, and all you could see was red eyes hovering over you staring at you, and the dark crimson of blood on her face.
“You did so good, detka,” she lilted, caressing your cheek with her soft hand. “I think I’ll keep you.”
Fortunately for you, you could feel nothing but bliss. It was the Siren’s entrancement on you that made you feel heavenly as she took hold of one of your ankles and dragged you into the water like a dead fish, swimming away into the black and taking you with her.
Your abandoned boat still floated upside down a ways off from the shore. The cloud of fog was still on the sea’s surface, crowding into the cove. The water washed away your blood from the rocks.

Coming back after being almost a week without electricity, phone, and internet connection. Huge storms with lightning and rain, and winds. We have never have winds like that here and the roof of so many houses were ripped off, stuff flying, etc. All this bc global warming, and the deforestation and mining in our lands. At this rate, in 5 years we will have tornadoes, a thing we have never ever have here (edit: 25th may 2025 the first tornado, in the middle of a town at the south of the country, we are fucked). Nor our lands, infrastructures, states, and culture are prepared for this. Areas of the country are devastated, ppl have died, many are without electricity nor Internet connection so they are isolated. The houses are flooding with water, and the ones that not, are leaking from the ceiling. Too many neighbours and compatriots don't have roofs and the streets are full of fallen trees and pieces of roof material, no electricity, no signal, food rotting, but suffering at the same time for the cold of this terrible winter, and trying to do something, patching even when its gonna go to hell when the storm comes again this next days. More than 33,200 people affected and 41,500 isolated due to 5 days of rain and windstorms. In just a couple of days there were 170,000 homes left without power due to wind and rainstorms and even more as time went by.

If u want to help me to fix the roof, walls, to buy food and being warm this winter please check my PayPal. If u can't donate, please reblog bc thats the only way to make this being seen by ppl thus receiving help. I'm really not being able to keep living like this, i can no longer cope, so please share.
Here are in my PayPal or MACH . I took the kofi link bc they were charging me a fee.
Please, educate about global warming and the effects on Global South, specially for working class, chronically ill, autistic, disable, and long covid survivor ppl like myself.
Edit: I added links and pics
Edit: the weather is better (is finally spring at this current date 24th nov), but I still need to fix were I live/sleep bc the walls are broken and one of the walls is not a wall, but like 1cm wide stuff and all was bad build so even the door is twisted and dont work correctly, there is black mold that i think is damaging my ears, the paint is falling, the lamp has fallen, everything is broken and ugly, etc. I still need to buy food, meds, and everything so please, please, share or donate if you could. I don't want to survive like this and here, no one mask even when they were the ones giving me covid and they have making me also catch flu the other day bc they cogh over everything and don't care if they kill me, they are abusive and really violent people and are working to put me and everyone in danger. I dont even want to be in my country bc we will have a dictatorship soon, but I have nowhere else to go nor money to migrate (i need like $10.537 dollars or € 9.760,95 euros to pay all the documents, the bank money I have to show to prove I am a human being deserver of rights, the tickets, rent money and stuff to migrate).
I currently (date 14 Jan 2025) have $100 dollars donated (coz i spent 40 in food and meds this past month)
I know i will die here, but at least help me to survive in a less dehumanising way.
Edit: tumblr has blocked me from recive or send messages from the chat and comment of posts, so if you are trying to reach throughout there I can't see it, sorry, I'm cut from any communication (cant even see past messages from chat or asks), except send asks. I'm waiting that tumblr do something, but still hasn't even answered the help file I sent to them.

01. Lightning strikes twice
Madripoor, 10:47 PM
Rain sheeted down the neon-soaked streets as the Avengers jet touched down. You adjusted your suit, solar energy humming beneath your skin, ignoring the way Sentry’s gaze burned into your back from across the cabin.
Yelena Belova elbowed you, her black suit gleaming. “Try not to vaporize him before the mission starts, дорогая . Unfortunately, we need him”
dear, the nickname she had just for you.
“No promises, милая” you muttered.
darling, the nickname you had just for her.
You eyed the golden glow radiating from Sentry’s clenched fists. It involuntarily sent a shiver down your spine. You should never admit it, but behind that cockyness, you felt something, darker was beyond.
John Walker clapped to get everyone’s attention
“Listen up! The target’s a vibranium pulse cannon in the Highrise District. No collateral damage.” His glare landed on Sentry.
“That means you, Superman. Keep it down, I think we have the government shoved up our asses enough”
Sentry smirked, stretching lazily, the suit hugged him in all the right places, making you flush, fortunately the jet was dark enough to conceal it. Or so you thought
“Relax, Walker. I’ll save the fireworks for the afterparty.” His eyes flicked to you. “Unless the newbie wants to show off her… what’s your deal again? Sparkly Kryptonian cosplay?”
The team froze. Not good.
You calmly stepped into his space, as you walked solar flares crackling at your fingertips. “How about I show you after I save your ass out there?”
He stood up, letting a small, low laugh. Sentry towered over you, preying on you. He leaned down untin his breah ghosted your ears.
“Can’t wait to see that, Supergirl”
“My name is Solara” Your eyes held fire, anger boiling your veins. None of you backed down, for a moment it seemed like the world stopped. You heard someone clearing their throat from behind.
“If you’re done eye-fucking can we please move on to the mission please?” James Barnes, ex-Winter Soldier, said while finishing setting up his rifle.
“One second Mr Barnes-“ Another voice interrupted. The Red Guardian, Alexei Shohstakov “I can’t get this- ughh. Lena! come help your papa put belt on, I cannot reach” Yelena groaned in the background, going to help her father.
“We were not- ugh, let’s just get this over with, I wanna go home” You said while stepping away holding your ground. You were thankful for the interruptions because the way he looked at you was definetly doing something to you.
“Mood” you hear Ava Starr say in the background as she spralled on the seats twirling her gun.
Before Sentry could say anything else, Walker slammed his shield to the floor making everyone jump.
“Move your asses, now”
The Mission
Chaos erupted the moment you hit the roof. The cannon’s operator-a rogue AIM scientist-had already leveled three blocks.
“Flank left!” you shouted to Ghost, who phased through a wall.
“Left?” Sentry’s voice was heard over the comms. “Boring. I’ll take the cannon. Watch and learn.”
He shot skyward like a comet, but you were faster. Solar energy propelled you forward, frost breath flash-freezing the cannon’s barrel as Sentry grabbed it.
“What the-?” The weapon shattered in his hands.
You swooped past him, heat vision slicing the control panel. “Lesson one: teamwork.”
Yelena whooped over comms: “Solara : 1, Sentry: 0!”
His growl reverberated in your bones. “You’re dead after this.”
•••
Back at the Tower, you’d barely peeled off your suit when a golden light flooded the training room.
Sentry hovered in the doorway, sleeves rolled up to reveal corded muscle. “Still owe me that rematch.”
You didn’t look up, still focused on wrapping your knuckles. “Didn’t realize losers got a do-over.”
He teleported behind you, voice a rumble in your ear. “I never lose.”
The fight was a blur of solar flares and supersonic punches. He pinned you against the wall, grip bruising your wrists, but you slammed your forehead into his nose. He staggered back-laughing, blood trickling from his nostril.
“Finally,” he breathed, riled up. His eyes wild, almost manic “Someone who hits back.”
You charged, tackling him through a reinforced window. The night sky swallowing both of you
Midair, 11:59 PM
His hand found your throat as you grappled, both hovering above the city. “Still think you’re my equal?”
Solar energy surged down your arms, ready to strike at any moment. “I think you’re scared that I’m better.”
The Tower’s alarms blared below. He didn’t move.
“Oh, sweetheart,” he murmured. Sentry squeezed your throat just enough to highten your racing pulse, making your breath hitch “You have no idea what you do to me.”
Before you could snap back, Yelena’s voice crackled on your abandoned comm: “If you two lovebirds are done flirting, we have debrief. Get inside, now ”
And just like that, Sentry dropped you.
You caught yourself floating in from the window you guys broke.
He smirked, golden energy fading as he flew past you. “Tomorrow. Same time.”
“In your dreams,” you shot back.
His laugh followed you down the hall.
0.2 Thunder Without Rain
The debrief room was still buzzing from the mission. Yelena lounged sideways in her chair, boots up on the table, tossing a protein bar at you. “You need this more than I do, Sol. You look like you got hit by a truck.”
You caught it, rolling your eyes. “Gee, thanks” you took a small bite, savoring the chocolate flavor “You should see the other guy.”
Sentry strolled in as if he was summoned, golden aura flickering, blonde hair tousled from the fight. He leaned against the wall, arms crossed, a lazy grin on his lips. “Come on, Solaris, you couldnt have finished without me.”
You didn’t bother to look his way. “Solara, and no, Lena and I were doing just fine until you decided to play knight in shining armor unsolicited.” Venom laced your words, loud and clear
He laughed, the sound low and cocky. “Keep telling yourself that, sunshine. You need me, you always do”
Bucky cleared his throat, trying for authority. “Sentry, take a seat. We need to discuss our next plan” He does as he’s told, taking a seat next to Solara, she mentally rolled her eyes.
Barnes stands up circling the room “Let’s keep this short. We neutralized the cannon, but AIM’s not going to let it go. We need to act fast, and not let the Tower get compromised.” He then pressed the comm on his ear “Ava, report?”
Ava’s upper half body phased through the wall, appearing in front of everyone “They’re looking for us. I would say twenty to forty people, all armed. Suspicious weapons”
“New tech?” John finally talks, adjusting his guns
“Its possible, i’ve never seen anything like it before. We might need to split up and evacuate the building. I’m gonna take some of them down, call me if anything changed” Ava finally said before disappearing through the wall. Loud explosions and shooting sounds could be heard all around the building.
Yelena quickly says “I say we let Sentry go out first to do a quick clean up. Solara and I can evacuate the building, and you guys kick ass, yes? ”
Sentry shot her a look, then turned to you. “Aww, but you’d miss me if I got shot up, Stellar.”
You arched a brow at his comment “You know thats not happening, you’re bulletproof.”
You boldly get closer to his face, rematching the events on the jet “ But if they do shoot you, they’ll be doing us a favor.”
Sentry grinned, stepping closer, his voice dropping “You keep saying that but we both know that aint true”
You make a disgusted face “Fuck you”
Sentry smiled even more
Yelena made a gagging noise. “Can you two save the foreplay for after we’re done thanks?”
Bucky clears his throat, damn thats a reccuring habit, pulling you out of your trance. “We’ll do what Yelena said. Sentry, try to keep them contained here. Solara, Yelena, take the civilians out. John, Alexei and I will follow and aid Sentry with the intruders. Faster we finish faster we can rest, im exhausted” Bucky said with sincerety, is his age finally catching up to him?
Sentry stands up, his shoulder bumping into yours. He stretches and walks to the window
“Dont miss me too much, see you in a minute” He smirked and jumped.
Solara stood up, Yelena following close behind as they walked to the window.
“alright team! lets do this!”
They grabbed hands, and jumped to action
“What’s up with these people jumping out of windows?” John said looking at Bucky
Bucky only shrugged.
•••
The mission was a success, the people were arrested and the weapons are currently being investigated. John was right, a new tech is developing underground.
A few days later, the Tower was back to normal, a little too normal. No missions, no reports, no paperwork, no interviews, no emergencies..odd
Everyone was doing their own individual thing, Solara walked to the empty lounge to fill up her water bottle in a black long-sleeve crop top sportswear and leggins. John enters the room holding various files.
“What you got there Johnny?” you asked him as he sat down near the bar to read them.
“These are the files of the people arrested, i’m just checking if we left any valuable information for the report out”
You sat down next to him, patting his shoulder “Have you slept well?” you said noticing the dark circles under his eyes.
“I’ll sleep when i’m dead” He tries to quote Alexei’s words with a terrible russian accent making you both laugh.
“But seriously though, you need to take care of yourself, we cant have one of our own in bad shape. You’re very valuable for the team” You tell him honestly, John was like a big brother, and you admire the way he tried to make up for his past mistakes. You admire how he cared for everyone in his way. John only gave you a pained smile in response.
“Didnt know we were having a show today” you couldnt help to close your eyes in annoyance as you heard Sentry’s very distinguable voice from affar.
“Oh how I wish they would’ve shot him dead” you whispered annoyed, but thanks to his superhearing he heard every word.
He cockily grinned. It was weird seeing him dressed in something other than his fancy highlighter suit. Today he wore a tight sweatshirt and baggy pants, his hair was curly and you noticed how his roots started to grow back. Hah. Fake Blonde.
“Keep saying that to yourself baby- oh sorry, I keep forgetting you’re Walker’s” and not mine he wanted to say.
Oh, you had enough, solar flares danced your fingertips, impacient.
“Keep talking shit and i’ll have the pleasure of ripping your tongue out Homelander from Temu” Venom laced your words as you stood up, breathing heavily
“Oh? Supergirl has a boyfriend now? i’m hurt” He smirked, he knows how to push her buttons.
He loved it
Walker had enough too, putting the file down.
“Solara, Sentry-training room, now. Work out your issues before you break another window or one of you ends up dead. And Sentry no, I have a wife and kid, Solara and I are friends, nothing more. And if we were, that wouldnt concern you”
Sentry did a mocking soldier salute, but his eyes still lit up with malice “My favorite part of the day starts now.
Training Room
You squared off in the ring, the rest of the team watching from behind the glass. Sentry circled you, golden energy crackling at his fingertips.
“Ready to get schooled again, Solaris?” He smirked, eyes glinting with challenge.
You flexed your hands, solar energy pulsing beneath your skin. Already used to his shitty nicknames “I’ll try not to bruise your ego this time.”
He lunged, faster than sound, but you met him head-on-heat vision grazing his shoulder as he dodged. He laughed, delighted. “That all you got?”
You grinned, letting a solar flare ripple across your knuckles. “Not even close.”
He tried to pin you, but you twisted free, landing a punch that sent him skidding across the mat. He sat up, blonde hair hair wild, and grinned. “Damn, Titanium. You’re almost fun.”
Titanium? thats a new one
You offered him a hand up. “Almost?”
He took it, pulling you closer than necessary. “Keep this up, and you might even impress me.”
Suddenly a voice echoed through the intercom. “Just kiss already!”
You flushed, shoving Sentry away. He just laughed, as his back hit the wall with a loud thud oof he probably dented it, Bucky is gonna have my head
“You need to stop doing that Lena, seriously!” You tell her looking at the camera.
You felt her shrug “Can’t help it, im bored and spying people is the only good thing to do today” her voice boomed over the room”
You walked to Sentry again, pulling him up with your superstrength.
“You dented the way, Bucky is gonna make us eat shit” and he could only agree, a nervious drop of sweat dripped down his forehead.
Hallway
Yelena came down the security room, and looped her arm through yours. “He likes you, you know.” Her thick russian accent lacing through each word
You rolled your eyes. “He likes picking fights.”
She grinned. “Same thing, for him.”
Behind you, Sentry called out, “Hey, Titanium! Don’t forget-rematch tonight. Winner picks the movie.”
You shot him a look over your shoulder. “Hope you like rom-coms.”
He winked. “Hope you like losing.”
Yelena snickered. “Iconic.”
You couldn’t help but smile, the echo of Sentry’s laughter following you down the hall, the storm between you and him just beginning to rumble.
03. Eye of the Storm
The Tower’s atmosphere was lighter after that specific training session, but you couldn’t shake the feeling that the calm wouldn’t last. You, Yelena and Ava wandered into the kitchen, finding Alexei and Bucky arguing over the best way to make coffee.
“American coffee is like sewer water!” Alexei boomed, slapping the counter for emphasis.
Bucky shot him a deathly glare. “At least it doesn’t taste like jet fuel.”
Yelena rolled her eyes and grabbed a mug for you two “Ignore them, They’ve been at it for an hour.”
You grinned, pouring yourself some of Bucky’s “dirty water” and leaning against the counter. “I’ll take my chances. What do you think Ava?”
The girls looked at Ava spectantly, Ava shrugged while looking for something in the cabinet.
“Dont ask me, i’m british, we prefer tea” She dipped the tea bag, added hot water and sat with you two
“Cheers!” you clinked your mugs together.
Before you could take a sip, the lights flickered. You exchanged a look with the both of them-trouble, again.
John’s voice crackled over the intercom. “Everyone to the conference room. Now.”
•••
The team gathered, tension thickening as John face was unusually grim.
“AIM’s back,” he announced, tossing a flash drive onto the table. “They’re not just after us-they’re after the tech and put a bounty on Sentry and Solara.”
Sentry’s jaw flexed, but he kept his tone light. “Guess we’re popular, Titanium.”
You frowned, reviewing the files Walker pulled up. Schematics, blueprints, and a list of names-yours and Sentry’s at the top.
Yelena whistled. “They really don’t like you two.”
Alexei grinned. “Means you’re doing something right.”
Bucky leaned forward, voice low. “We need to be ready. If they come for us, we fight back-but we do it smart. No more solo heroics.” Now staring at Sentry
Sentry’s eyes flicked to you, something serious beneath the cocky exterior. “Don’t worry, Barnes. I’ll keep an eye on princess here.”
and here you thought y’all were progressing
You shot him a look. “I can handle myself, thank you very much”
He smirked. “I know. But where’s the fun in that?”
Later – Rooftop
You found yourself on the Tower’s rooftop, enjoying some time alone. The city lights stretching out below, it was an incredible view. Sentry landed beside you, arms folded, light steps.
“Can’t sleep?” he asked, voice softer than usual.
You shook your head. “Just thinking.”
He studied you for a moment. “You’re not scared, are you?”
You scoffed. “Of AIM? pff please.”
He stepped closer, the air buzzing between you. “Good. Because if you were, I’d have to do something stupid. Like save you again.”
You rolled your eyes to your brain, but your heart skipped a beat. “You’re impossible.”
He grinned, leaning in just enough for his hand to brush your cheek. “You love it.”
You swatted his hand like a mosquito, he feigned being hurt.
Before you could reply, the alarm blared-red lights flashing through the night.
“Emergency – Tower Under Siege!”
You and Sentry spring down the stairwell, meeting the team in the lounge.
Bucky tossed you two a pair of comm. “They’re here. Solara, Sentry-you’re with me. Yelena, Alexei, Ghost, Walker -secure the lower levels.”
Sentry cracked his knuckles, golden light flaring. “Ready, Solaris?”
You nodded, solar energy pulsing at your fingertips. “Let’s show them why we’re at the top of their list.”
He winked, stepping in front of you as the doors exploded inward, AIM soldiers pouring into the hall.
“Stay behind me,” he teased.
You shoved past him, blasting the first wave with a solar flare. “Keep up, Sentry.”
He laughed, launching himself into the fray. “Atta girl!”
Aftermath
The fight was brutal but swift. Solara and Sentry moved in perfect sync-his raw power and your precision overwhelming the intruders. When the dust settled, Sentry hovered above the last unconscious soldier on the stairwell grinning down at you.
“Not bad, Stellar. Almost makes me want to let you win next time.”
You wiped sweat from your brow, smirking. “In your dreams.”
He floated down, landing close enough that you could see the gold flecks in his eyes. “Every night, Solara.”
You shoved him playfully, but your heart hammered in your chest. The first time he called you by your actual hero name.
The others came by and you regrouped, finishing the job together.
The storm between you was growing, and you weren’t sure how much longer you could resist.
04. Calm Before the Crash
The Tower was quiet, the kind of silence that made every sound echo. Most of the team had gone to bed, but you found yourself by the rooftop ‘s emergency door, soaking in the last rays of the city’s lights. You let the energy hum beneath your skin, feeling the gentle warmth that always lingered after a fight.
If it weren’t for your superhearing, you wouldn’t have noticed Sentry approaching you quietly. For someone so powerful, he surely knows how to be sneaky. You trully were’nt in the mood for fighting so before you clapped at him coming to pick on you, you reconsidered your choices as you looked at him
He leaned on the railing beside you, eyes scanning the skyline. For once, he didn’t wear his cocky grin. He looked tired-haunted, lost even.
You broke the silence first. “Can’t sleep?”
He shook his head. “Not lately.” Wow, who would’ve thought this almighty god had trouble sleeping?
You studied him, seeing the tension in his jaw, the way his hands flexed as if fighting something invisible. You mentally, debated what you wanted to do. Ugh, i’m so going to regret this later
“You want to talk about it?”
He hesitated, then sat on the low wall, elbows on his knees. This pose made him look so fragile “Do you know what it’s like to be afraid of yourself?” His voice was raw, stripped of all the sarcasticness it used to have all the time.
You suprised yourself by sitting beside him, close but not touching. “Sometimes. My powers…they’re a gift, but they’re also a burden. If I take in too much solar energy, I could level a city. If I don’t take enough sun, I get weak, sick. There’s never a perfect balance.”
He nodded at your statement, staring at his hands. “When I got my powers, it was supposed to be a miracle. I was just a guy- Robert Reynolds used to be my only name. Messed up, addicted, looking for a way out. I participated in a human testing experiment, not caring what would happen, hell I trully didnt care if I died. They gave me a serum, and suddenly I was a god. But there was a catch. The darkness within me came with it-I call it The Void. It’s always there, whispering, waiting for me to slip and take over. I’m terrified of what I’ll do if I lose control.”
You listened, heart aching for him with simpathy. “People see the power, not the cost. Only want the glory. They don’t understand what consequences comes with holding any power. ”
He looked at you, eyes shining in the city lights. “If I let myself feel, I’d fall apart. The Void feeds on that. It wants me to be alone.“
You reached out, your hand covering his. “You’re not alone, Sentry, I know what it’s like to feel like you’re one mistake away from disaster. But you’re more than the Void.”
He squeezed your hand, his grip trembling. You continue. “You’re more than your power.” You found yourself telling him words that you once wanted to hear.
Smiling, feeling the warmth of his skin and the truth in his words. “Hell, I can’t believe im saying this. You’re an amazing hero Sentry, the way you contribute to the team in your own way is very special. Yes they’re may be times that I want to strap you to a rocket full of grenades, or even throw you off the Burj Khalifa for being a little shit. Still do to be honest, you wont leave me alone”
He chuckled “You want my head, I get it”
“But even after all that, I think you shouldnt give in to the darkness. I’m sure the team would be willing to help you out too”
“They all have been shoved down my ass enough” Remembering the events a few years ago. Solara probably doesnt know, maybe its for the better.
“You’re not alone in this Sentry”
“You can call me Bob… well, if you want I mean. Sentry is a sickass name, way better than Bob, probably the best name around here hahah” He said with a cocky toothy grin nudging your shoulder. And there he is
“Well Bob, since we’re doing friendly introductions. You can call me, Y/N”
“Y/N” He tasted the way her name felt on his tongue “Its nice, fits you like a glove, princess”
For a long moment, you sat together in the quiet, two people carrying the weight of the world, finding solace in each other’s presence. For the first time ever, his dickheadness wasn’t so bad.
The storm inside both of you eased, if only for a little while.
05. Breaking Point
After the last attack, the Tower was humming with tension. You’d barely slept, senses on edge, always listening for the next alarm. Sentry Bob had become a little distant since your rooftop talk. Not suprising. You caught glimpses of him in the halls sometimes, golden aura flickering like a warning sign.
You were in the gym, pounding out your anxiety on a punching bag, when the emergency lights flashed red. Sirens blared. The comm crackled with Bucky’s voice:
“Guys, we’ve got incoming-AIM, these dickheads aren’t holding back. Sentry, Solara, Yelena front line. The rest of us will follow. Ava, report and go stealth mode”
Using your superspeed, you suited up quick and sprinted for the main hall, Yelena at your side. “Stay close, Дорогая. Let’s hope that Ken Doll doesnt do anything stupid”
You managed a grin. “No promises.”
The main doors exploded inward. AIM soldiers in advanced exo-suits stormed in, weapons glowing with unfamiliar energy. At their center stood out a white figure-AIM’s new soldier weapon, its suit peculiary powered by the mysterious tech.
Sentry landed beside you, face grim. “Stay behind me, Titanium.”
You bristled. “Nope, not happening”
The fight was chaos. Sentry tore through the first wave, Yelena and Solara focused on taking down the second incoming one together, but the AIM soldier unleashed a pulse that sent him crashing into a wall. Unnotices by you, something flickered in his eyes as he staggered to his feet.
You blasted the weapon with a solar flare, drawing its attention to you. “Come on, big guy. Pick on someone your own size.”
It charged you, and a fight between the two of you broke in. That thing was fast, enhanced, powerful. It threw a punch but you caught it with ease. However, the person under let a chuckle as it blasted the tech’s energy through its widow bites?? hitting you and making you loose balance. This caught you off guard but you absorbed the next energy blast, letting it fuel you. Your skin glowed, hair floating as you unleashed everything you had-a beam of pure solar energy that you knew would knock them out. It did.
Unnoticed by you, a soldier prepared to attack from behind, his weapon pointed to you head as he was taken out inmediately. Sentry was at your side in a flash, but something in his eyes were wrong-too dark, too wild.
“You’re messing with the wrong people, if you want to live, you can walk away now” His tone was filled with undeniable malice.
A soldier charged at him but was instantly turned into a shadow?? “Or not, be my guest”
More soldiers followed to battle, however he brutally manhandled-every-single one with ease. He had a wild grin on his face, his eyes glowing white as the time passed.
Yelena quickly came to your side “Oh no, its happening again. Sol, quick you have to stop him” Her russian accent laced with something you would’ve never thought you would hear, fear
You didnt question her further and quickly made way to his side, grabbing his arm to try and pull him to his senses. Sentry grabbed your neck, grip tight. “Who do you think you’re? trying to stop me? i’m a god, you’re nothing”
He slams you to the wall, you wheezed as his grip tightened. “I dont know what he sees in you, you’re weak” He continues as he gets closer and smells your hair, a whiff of your shampoo makes him smirk. Your thighs involuntarily clenched as his right hand caress your hips leaning by your ear. “You want this don’t you, I can give it to you.”
Having enough, you cupped his face, with the remaining energy you had left, forcing him to look at you, your light meeting his darkness. “You’re stronger than this, Bob. I’m here. I won’t let you go.”
For a moment, you saw him-the real Bob-fighting to surface. He blinked, eyes going back to normal. Sentry’s eyes widened as he saw the position you guys were in, and looked back to the battlefield. You two shared a look that said fight, talk later as more soldier barged in
The battle ended in minutes. The team regrouped, battered but alive.
•••
The members gathered around the table, eating comfortably and chatting. This was a common routine after a big battle. However, Sentry sat by the window apart from everyone. His eyes held that haunted gaze you saw in the rooftop. Everyone noticed how tense you two were after the incident, but nobody dared to ask. You approached slowly, placing a gentle hand on his arm.
“Wanna eat anything? You should before the fridge ends up in Alexei and John’s stomachs” you whispered.
He looked at you, voice broken. “I lost it. I almost hurt you.”
You squeezed his hand. “But you didn’t. You fought it. Besides, i’m a big girl, I can handle myself” You flexed your bicep.
He let out a small laugh, some of the darkness easing from his eyes. “Keep telling yourself that, Solara”
For the first time, you felt hope-maybe, together, you could weather any storm.
06. Fracture
The Tower was messier than usual. AIM’s attack had left damage beyond the usual “repaint, move on” You courtly greeted the usual construction team working on the repairs as you made your way to the conference room.
The team gathered around the round table. Alexei sat besides his daughter who had a bored look on her face, Ava sat one chair apart leaving space for you, John sat on the other side with a small note pad filled with what you would assume were things he wanted to discuss, and lastly bucky stood by the whiteboard with some files.
The only missing one was Sentry. Not that you cared anyway.
“Sentry will be here later. He had a meeting with Valentina.” Bucky said for the team’s knowledge. Although the team didn’t have a formal leader, you all secretly agreed that if they were to be one, it had to be him. After all, he was the one that brought them together. Bucky rights on the board “Mission Report” damn. his handwriting is neat for a fossil.
“Anything you wanna comment on?” He asks before Ava raises her hand “Yes, they were twice the people we encountered before. At least 30 people per group, all armed with the same type of weapons”
You add thinking deeply “There was this person, who had a mask and a white suit, I would guess that was their leader. Although this person’s fighting style was different, but very familiar…almost like an enhanced black widow” You said truthfully.
Yelena turned to her in disbelief “You can’t be serious are you? The Red Room is gone, my sister and I made sure of that. “ You saw the pained look on her face when she mentioned Natasha.
“Dreykov’s dead, and not a single widow remains under the room’s control since we freed them all.” She huffed and Alexei rubbed her back, calming her down “Sorry, I got carried away, please continue” You gave her a sad smile, knowing that this was a sensitive topic “The person’s suit was oddly similar to the widow’s suits, also, they blasted me with two wrist guards similar to what you and Nat use. Coincidence? I think not”
John butts in, interest in his tone “Are you saying there may be a widow involved with this mysterious organization?” You nodded and Yelena rubbed her temple, clearly stressed.
“Well if there is one, she’s enhanced. I saw through the vents how she took down the lower level guards with ease.” Ava said. “Also, when are we gonna discuss what happened with Sentry back there? Seriously, he was crazier than usual”
Bucky nods “Solara, Yelena, when Sentry lost control, what happened before that?” You girls look at each other trying to remember
“Ah!” Yelena snaps her finger, remembering
“The white soldier blasted him with weird energy while me and Solara took down the others at the sides. You nod and add “After that, he completely changed” Everything discussed, John writes it down on his notepad. “Do you think the weapon had something to do?” Yelena asks Bucky.
Bucky grimmed, a clear thought passing through his head “This is more serious than I thought.”
Ava asks “What is it?” Bucky looked her way “We may be dealing with something similar to Superman’s red kryptonite. In the comics, the green one weakened him, the red one, however, made him loose control”
John snorted, eyes still on his pad “Didn’t take you for the kind that reads comics” Bucky palms his face grunting “It’s called having hobbies, Walker. And the first came out in 1938, for your information” Alexei stopped the banter “Sargent Barnes, if this is the case, what should we do? will Sentry turn on us?” He asked him with concern
“No I dont think he will, but we need to be precautios of whats coming. Keep Sentry at bay and investigate further. We can schedule a undercover mission to gather intel.” Everyone nodded.
Bucky hands Alexei some files which he passes around. “Some of the people arrested had criminal backstories with Hydra and Shield. Look for valuable info, Yelena if you can, get something out of any of them. That’s all for today”
The door opened, Sentry entered with his usual cocky grin. “Hope I didnt miss much” Bucky sighed and quicky summarized the meeting, including the part of the red kryptonite situation.
“Damn, Buck, who would’ve knew you read comics.” Sentry said with a raised eyebrow. John laughed loudly at his comment, fist bumping him. “I told him the same thing dude!” However, the energy of the room felt uneasy after that meeting.
•••
You found yourself in the kitchen later in the night, trying to make coffee, but the machine sputtered and died with a sad wheeze.
“Need help, Solaris?” Sentry’s voice behind you was a little too close, a little too smug.
You didn’t turn around. “Unless you can fix a coffee maker with your ego, I’m good.”
He leaned in, voice low. “My ego fixes a lot of things, sunshine.”
You snorted, grabbing another mug from the cabinet. “Like what? Your reputation for being a pain in my ass?”
He grinned, eyes glinting. “And you love it.”
You rolled your eyes, but your heart hammered. He was too close, heat radiating off him like a second sun. “You wish.”
He stepped back, cocky and casual, but you saw the tension in his jaw. You think he wanted you riled up, going back to his usual ways, rooftop talk long gone, and damn if it wasn’t working.
Yelena strolled in, hair in a half bun, jeans and hoodie, wait, isnt that my hoodie? . She eyed the two of you, then the broken coffee maker. “You two flirting or fighting? Hard to tell these days.” You shot her a glare. “He’s being insufferable.” Sentry shrugged, grabbing an apple from the counter. “She started it.” Yelena grinned. “If you two finally hook up, can you keep it down? Some of us need sleep.”
You choked on your coffee. Sentry just smirked, biting into the apple with a wink.
•••
Later, Bucky called a meeting in the lounge. “Someone infiltrated our database and our security team. We’re on lockdown until we figure out who leaked it. groups only. No one goes anywhere alone.”
Yelena immediately claimed you as her partner, but Bucky shook his head. “Solara, you’re with Sentry. Yelena, you’re with Ava. Alexei, John you’re with me.” You groaned. “Seriously?” Sentry’s grin was pure trouble.
You stomped furiously down the hallway to your room. Sentry following close. At your door you turned to face him “If you snore, I’m blasting you into the sun.” He leaned close, voice dropping. “You’d have to get close enough to find out.”
You shoved him, but he caught your wrist, pinning you to the door with a loud thudz The air buzzed with electricity. “Careful, sunshine,” he murmured, eyes locked on yours. “You keep pushing, I might just push back.” You glared, fighting the blush forming on your face. “Let go.” He did, but not before his thumb traced a line over your lips. “You’re fun when you’re mad.”
Having enough, you push him hard again and opened the door, craving to close it in his face and breaking all his perfect teeth. Inside, he glanced around your room: spacious, but comfortable. All sorts of paintings and posters decorated the walls, a small desk was filled with pens, notes, your bed was unkempt in a way that it meant that you planned to nap later. He saw a makeup vanity covered with polaroids of the team, you Yelena and Ava making funny faces, John sleeping on the couch and Alexei putting whip cream on his spralled hand, Bucky asleep as you drew things on his face with a smile and him in the back reading. He smiled at the sight.
You removed your hoodie staying only in a crop top, his eyes following you as you reached for the tv remote on the nightstand. You glanced his way “If you’re done staring, make yourself comfortable”
He sits on the edge of your bed, unsure when you said “I hope you like romcoms, you owe me one”
•••
Hours later, you woke up and found him in the floor, sitting alone in the dark. The cockiness was gone, replaced by shadows.
You glanced from the bed, silent for a moment. “You okay?”
He didn’t look at you. “I just thinking about that day, when I lost control”
You patted your side motioning him to sit, he does. “You didn’t. You fought it.”
He let out a shaky breath. “You make it sound so easy”
You swallowed, heart pounding. Remebering how the dark version of him gripped your neck, caressed your hip and whispered things in your ear
He turned, searching your face. “You’re dangerous, Y/N. You make me want to do things I shouldn’t.”
Sentry’s face starts getting closer to yours, you felt his breath on your lips.
The moment stretched, electric and fragile. You pulled away panicking “Let’s go to sleep” you quicky turned around, heart pounding against your sternum.
Sentry laughed, and the tension broke-but something had shifted between you. The storm was coming, and you weren’t sure you wanted to outrun it anymore.

So This is Christmas | Lucifer x Reader
Tumblr media
1.1K+ words | GN! Reader | CW: slightly suggestive toward the end
Home. A word that gave Lucifer an insurmountable amount of stress.
Home is where his brothers were wreaking havoc. Home is where you weren’t, because of family holiday traditions in the human world. Home is where his six greatest enemies lived and not a place he could quietly relax. And he desperately needed to relax.
Something had gone wrong with Santa again this year and the replacement wasn’t ready to take over. He didn’t see why it should be his issue but Diavolo entrusted the task to him so for a week he ran after Santa with a whip threatening everyone at the workshop and most of the toys weren’t even going to human kids as they were all very misbehaved.
Lucifer sighed as the house of lamentation came into sight and he was hit with a wave of dread. Thankfully it hadn’t burned down, there was a new hole but it’d been decently repaired and wasn’t an immediate concern, and there didn’t appear to be any water damage from Leviathan. All in all, this was a win and a very rare one.
Lucifer expected some kind of ambush walking through the doors, most likely from the Anti-Lucifer trio which was down to a duo with ___ gone. But what he got instead sent him into a state of shock.
He opened the doors and inside it was…beautiful. Beautiful in a way he was still becoming familiar with. It was decorated perfectly for Christmas and for the winter season.
Lights with pine wrapped around the railings, pictures on the wall were replaced with ones they’d taken from Christmas in previous years, the carpet was red and green and he could see a large tree in the dining room.
He grinned but remained alert. His brothers were suspiciously quiet which was never a good thing but when he saw why his concerns were through the roof.
There at the table sat his brothers smiling and welcoming him home.
Lucifer froze. “What. The. Hell. Did. You. Do.” He asked sternly and they shrunk in on themselves. Beelzebub remained unaffected as he was eating the turkey whole.
Asmodeus batted the back of his head and he let out a “hm,” and waved at Lucifer with a roll in his hand.
“Lucifer!” The most beautiful sound in the world to him graced his ears and he spun around to see you there in festive attire.
His heart melted and the anxiety completely melted away as you stood there, hands behind your back, innocently smiling at him.
“___,” he breathed and outstretched his arms as he walked to you. You met him halfway and embraced him.
“What are you doing here?” He asked, delight in his voice. His immediate change in behavior annoyed his brothers but they were getting more used to it.
“I came to spread some holiday cheer. I heard what Diavolo made you do.” You explained and Lucifer sighed loudly and rolled his eyes.
“Don’t remind me.” He mumbled and you nodded and took his hand, leading him to the large meal you’d helped set up.
You’d been on a video call with Mammom when you’d heard all hell break loose because Lucifer wasn’t there supervising. You saw the roof cave in and you knew there was no way you were letting it stay like that even an hour, not when Lucifer could get home any minute, it would absolutely ruin his holiday.
So, like the master you were, you ordered the brothers to repair the wall, stop fighting, and cook a nice meal while you used magic to decorate the house. But Lucifer didn’t need to know about all that drama. All he needed now was a nice meal, some drinks, and of course you.
And it was very clear what he wanted most was you. He moved your chair next to his at the table, leaving less than an inch of room between you as he cut your food for you and began spoon-feeding you with affection sparkling in his eyes.
Beelzebub nearly gagged on his food and the others were very clearly perturbed by the situation so ate more quickly than they normally would. A small fight broke out between Mammon and Beelzebub but Lucifer and you shot them a glare and that was all it took for Mammon to give up the turkey leg and let Beel have it.
Lucifer happily finished eating the human world food and set aside his plate for Leviathan to grab as it was his turn to clean the dishes.
Leviathan grumbled something about normies and took the plates and knives away.
“Did you like it?” You asked Lucifer giddily and he nodded and dabbed his chin with a napkin before wiping crumbs off your face. You never wiped your mouth after dinner because you knew Lucifer would do it for you and the small display of grooming filled you with happiness.
Sensing your delight with his small touch Lucifer got up from his chair and held his hand out for you to take.
“Will you accompany me tonight?” He asked you in a gentlemanly manner and you laughed and nodded while Mammon audibly gagged in the next room. This made Lucifer laugh as well and he swept you off your feet to carry you upstairs to his room.
“What would you like to do tonight?” You asked him and he smiled.
“Anything at all, as long as it’s with you.”
You were surprised by his more affectionate behavior than usual. Normally this question would’ve led to a mischievous gleam in his eyes and you panting beneath him on the bed. But now Lucifer was in an oddly blissful state of mind without ulterior motives, just love.
You tightened your grip around him as he carried you into his room and you nuzzled your head into the crook of his neck as he smiled.
“I have the perfect thing,” he said as he sat you on his couch. He walked to the record player and pulled a vinyl from his stack that was green in color. “I got this a few weeks ago thinking you may enjoy it,” he admitted and let the record begin to play.
Softly the comforting sounds of Christmas music began to echo through his room as he smiled at you, very proud of himself.
You reached out for him, motioning him to come sit next to you. He didn’t need to be asked twice and sat beside you, wrapping an arm around you as you nuzzled into his side to listen to the relaxing music.
Of course, once the music and gentle moment were over Lucifer’s blissful shock had worn off and he gave you a knowing playful grin that tempted you into his sheets that night.
If this is what Christmas brought about, he hoped it could last longer next year, and that you’d both have many more to follow.

I do not have a large follower base but I'm hoping people will be able to reblog this and get it to people who might be able to lend help
These pictures and words cannot begin to describe the pain the city is going through. Intentional wildfires razed the city. The houses lost are between 3000 - 6000. The official death toll is 99 people and hundreds of animals but the numbers could double as many areas of debris have not been searched and some bodies may have simply been disintegrated, while also having aprox 400 people unaccounted for. The bodies left on the streets are being eaten by dogs
People burned in their homes, in their cars, in the streets. They ran but the fire ran faster. Entire families have been lost, the damage is irreparable. Stories of bravery are abundant but also are those of tragedy. If you can, donate a dollar to Desafío Levantemos Chile (Challenge Lift Chile) as they are the only organization with Paypal for abroad donations.
Please reblog if you want. Every cent counts to let people have roofs over their heads before winter comes
