Good morning. Coding up some Gregorian chant at 6am truly makes me at peace. This finishes up retypesetting chants progress at page 50 of 92. Making progress!

My toddler is teething and had a low fever, but luckily is sleeping well.

I need to redo my Horarium again. Singing the 7 hours of the Little Office has been a bit too much, so I'm scaling back to 2 hours - Matins/Lauds in the morning and Vespers/Compline in the evening - like the recommendation from Traditional Lay Carmelites of Fatima (TLCF).

Speaking of TLCF, I need to give the Prioress of TLCF a call some time to see how she's doing. She is a mother herself and just recently had another grandchild. As I've been discerning the way of her Traditional Carmelite order and seeking her guidance on it, she's given me such great advice about motherhood and tying it to Carmelite spirituality.

I had a whole day yesterday to focus on work while the kids were at their grandparents. I hate to admit that I need a day away from the kids to catch up on what I need to do, but I feel so much more at peace.

I updated my work hours to 6-8am and 10-5pm so that I can get focus work done in the morning. I honestly get the best work done when it's dark out. 🦉 No distractions and no one needing me helps me focus on algorithms and software design work. It really doesn't come naturally to me, so the extra focus works.

Dear St. Anthony, please pray for me so that I may find the answers I need to solve what I need to do for work.

Dear St. Joseph, please pray that I can put in a full day of work.

Dear God, thank you for my job, my education and the work that I do and for letting me walk this path in Your name. I hope to be a good example of Your will through the uncommon life I live as a Filipino-American woman in tech in California and mother of 2 boys. I'm sorry for any times I have anxiety, imposter syndrome, procrastinate or lose my temper. Please help me to offer up those shortcomings to you.

I haven’t posted on here in awhile but since I deleted all my other socials apps, I thought I’d update this one. Here’s a few things that have been going on in my life.

⭐️ I got laid off from my job January of last year.

⭐️ I streamed on Twitch for 6 months. Loved it!

⭐️ I joined Flatiron School’s software engineering bootcamp.

⭐️ I made my first game demo

⭐️ in November I graduated from the bootcamp with the knowledge of full stack software engineering and the goal to be a backend engineer or game dev

⭐️ now as the new year starts I’m excited to secure a job and achieve the goals I set out to achieve by starting a new career!

also can we just talk about the fact that in the Wish World, a woman can get away with calling another woman beautiful without setting off everyone's queer panic, but when a man does it to a man, it tips over the edge? so the Kates of the world are flying just under the radar, but are likely to be more emotionally repressed as a result - and yet, all the queer or queer-coded characters in this world are offered the same security and protection from doubt by the prospect of entering into an opposite-sex marriage...

okay some people genuinely really need to accept that the ONLY "queer coding" in saiki k is when they make gay jokes. there is NO other intentional queer coding, and i think people dont understand that claiming rep where it isnt there is much much more harmful than you think it is... just headcanon! its fun! you guys act like youre going to fucking die if you ship/hc something not canon, so you convince everyone that everything you say is canon ☠️ its literally insane

theres a HUGE difference between a headcanon or ship having what YOU see as canon backing, and a hc or ship that is actually implied or canon...

the only ship that you could argue is implied in saiki k is terusai, thats literally it, you could potentially make an argument that yumekai could be reciprocated towards the end, satoumiya, or MAYBE mikosai, but im pretty sure thats it...

nonbinary saiki is one of my personal favorite headcanons (one of the only ones i pretty much ALWAYS have in mind when talking or writing about him, it's practically a given) and i think it has pretty good canon backing, but its not ACTUALLY implied.

hes FAIRLY certain that his biological sex is male, and all evidence points to that, but he doesnt know and specifically says that he doesnt know what his true gender is... he clearly has absolutely zero discomfort with masculinity OR femininity, doesnt know or care about his gender, and is comfortable with either sex... he seems very happy to just be either...

seems like pretty solid evidence, but you also have to realize that there is literally zero chance that the author intended for saiki to be read as nonbinary, or trans in any way, this was literally just an excuse for plot and to have a reason to take advantage of his shapeshifting to do crossdressing/genderbend chapters ☠️ i love to see it as him being nonbinary and i think it has a lot of backing, but its not canon or even "implied" at all.

theres a lot of other examples of this kind of thing in this fandom, like theres a lot of people who claim that kubokai are queer coded (its usually just a joke when people say things like "hehe my ship is so canon" but im talking about like... people who see yumekai and go "um 🤨 this is LITERALLY homophobic because erm um kubokai are basically canon and queer coded and you shipping one of them with a WOMAN is HOMOPHOBIC" lmfao) and i am actually just not even sure where this comes from because they dont have anything that can even be twisted into romantic subtext, theyre just a popular ship because they have a good friendship. which is great! but theyre like the LAST thing i wouldve expected people to claim as implied or canon. they are absolutely not. the only thing i can even think of that might make people think that is saiki saying they look gay in that one chapter ☠️

Bridgerton states from season one, through Simon and Lady Danbury, to season two, with the Sharmas, to Queen Charlotte, from the beginning episode to the end spelled out clear as day, that racism exists in this world and many of the characters of colors have been impacted by it in some way. And, supposedly, I'm supposed to believe that Marina, that Kate and Edwina, that they all had more privilege and power than Penelope? No, I don't think so, a lot of things aren't right with that statement.
