Really sweet Crow friendship thing we never seem to talk about: Kaz bought the Wraith for Inej, yes, but he bought it from Wylan. Wylan knew!

Imagine it!! Not only Kaz effectively confiding in Wylan by doing this, but also imagine Wylan spending the next week with Inej staying in his house knowing what was going to happen!! Like he probably didn’t know Kaz had found her parents but he knew she was getting the boat (and that would be her key to finding her parents herself if Kaz hadn’t done). Inej vanished from his house one morning to go to the docks at the crack of dawn and I like to imagine that he watched her from the window so happy and so joyous because he loves Inej and he loves Kaz and they’re going to be so happy

This is beautiful!!! And it’s CANON! Why don’t we talk about this more????

Matthias, closing the magazine and staring at the ceiling: I thanked her.

“Wy—“ he felt rather stupid once he heard the sniffling cries, and saw his friend jump, “—lan? Are you alright?”

After the day he’s had? A voice in his head chided him— it sounded like Nina. I’d say we’re well past asking if he’s alright. Blinking placidly at the room, Matthias had never felt so much like a bull trampling a field of wildflowers— far too large and unwieldy for the delicate machinations needed.

Wylan was sat on the bed, swamped in what was likely Jesper’s hasty attempts at care before Brekker swept him away. The pillows were propped behind his back, against the headboard. There was a scarf wrapped up in his hands as if he’d been pressing it to his face. He had not one, but two thick woolly jumpers pulled over his head, making his arms and torso look soft and padded in a way Wylan had probably never managed to actually obtain in his life. It made him look like he was part of the blankets.

It would be terribly endearing, if it wasn’t for the splotchy red flush across his cheeks and the way he ducked his head immediately from Matthias’s eyes.

“‘M fine.” He swiped roughly at his face, and Matthias had never believed anybody less.

He knew, though, if he wanted Wylan to look him in the eye anytime soon, he’d have to take fine for an answer. At least, for now.

Definitely not thinking about how (possibly) Jesper says “I love you” to Wylan and Wylan replies “I don’t deserve you” and then Jesper would be led to believe Wylan dies on the Ferolind before he could convince him he does deserve his love.

rereading the duology like everyone else, and it’s so funny how matthias’s perspective on wylan went from “ofc he’s new he looks twelve” to internally being like “yeah i get how you feel. my loudmouthed bisexual love interest also keeps flirting with me during important plan discussions, buddy”

Thwy are so funny. I will never be over Matthias being like "why is there a 12 year old on the team". And then they become buddies. He can carry him on his shoulders and they can wear a long coat and look like one person~~

Jesper and Wylan planning a bachelor for Matthias that includes copious amounts of alcohol along with a trip to some risque strip club type deal (as is common for men on TV). Matthias spends the entire time muttering swears under his breath, his face beet red behind his hands because the amount of skin involved is indecent "Mor til Djel. Knulle meg." Kaz spends the evening throwing back shot after shot of whiskey, the man hates alcohol (vices are weakness after all), but he'll be damned if he doesn't use it to "scrub this cursed event from the very fiber of his being. Wylan and Jesper have a ball of course, they compliment all the ladies on wonderful performances and give them extra tips, flirt harmlessly with ever member of the staff, and have pleasant conversation with the women they pay to give Matthias a lap dance (that he steadyfastly refuses of course). Basically imagine them as Rachel, Monica, and Phoebe in that one episode of Friends where they take Chandler to the strip club to get over Janice because Joey is busy at an audition
