Album: a path
Artist: haircuts for men
Released: 2021
Genre: vaporwave
Review: I’m not really a vaporwave listener, so nothing super informative in this journaling session. There’s a very chill space that this album occupies, cool blues and muted purples if I had to put a color to it. There are elements of futuristic / cyber to me, like the sound is encased in chrome, and it’s a brand new listening experience for me. The way the sound fades in and out of focus, as though underwater, lends a dream-like quality to the music. It’s a bit hard to pick a favorite track: they’re all so long and in so many different styles, blending together into each other, that any pick feels arbitrary. It’s more an experience than anything. All in all, it gives the feeling of being somewhere else— a transcendental kind of vibe where one track fades effortlessly into the next and leaving you in an exciting, unfamiliar space, shining like new metal and watching the waves overhead.
Favorite Track: the anneliese exorcism

I must sleep. Sleep is the mind-healer. Sleep is the big-life that brings total ability to fucking do anything. I will face my bed. I will permit the blankie to pass over me and snores to pass through me. And when sleep has gone past I will turn the outer eye to greet the new morning. When the sleep has gone there will be everything. Energy and will to live will remain.
