There is currently a massive (and growing) bundle of games available on itch.io with money raised going to Abortion Funds in the wake of the attack on reproductive freedom in the US Supreme Court.
It may seem like a small thing to buy some indie games for just $10 but bundles like this are a fantastic way to contribute real tangible good to the world. 700+ game designers said that they care enough to give up the collective profit on their games so that we could collectively raise money to effect change in reproductive justice. Get some really phenomenal games, and use them to recharge after taking action in the streets or fighting back in other ways. We are in for a long fight and preventing activist burnout is the only way we can win.

The March in DC for National Abortion Justice Day gave me hope that we will prevail and a path forward to help the cause. I am not defeated: I am rejuvenated and we will not go back!

holy saint brigid, midwife and healer, foster mother of christ, pray for us. you once showed mercy and compassion to a pregnant woman who was not in a position to have a child at that time; you ended her pregnancy without judgement, allowing her to make her own choice about her family and her body. in the same way, please show compassion and give aid without judgement to all those pregnant people who are going to suffer indignity, illness, loss of autonomy, and death under this decision by the US supreme court. dearest brigid, pray for us!

So many feels this morning at the Chicago Bans Off march, but the dominant one is disgust. This all feels so useless and performance. One protest after another for five years. Record setting turnout in two elections. And still we go backwards, not forwards, at the mercy of one party actively working to roll back decades of expansion of individual rights and another too timid to take a stand on anything. What even is the point of these events at this point? What do we imagine we're going to accomplish?
We disrupt traffic for a morning, chanting slogans steeped in the lies of the American promise. "Abortion is healthcare" is hardly a compelling argument in a country where people die every day because health care is treated as a privilege, not a right. "This is what democracy looks like" has taken on a dark new meaning where democracy looks like powerless people screaming into the void while their rights are stripped away.
The other side organizes and strategizes and consolidates their power. We vent our rage by taking a collective walk. And we wonder why, despite all our chants to the contrary, we are in fact going back.

I literally do not care what the Bible says about any political issue. I am not Christian. Christian scripture should have zero effect on my life or my personal freedoms.

Just to emphasize: Mike Johnson is an antivaxxer, an anti-abortion forced bither, he believes the job of poor women is to give birth to an infinite supply of low wage jobseekers, he is a climate change denier, he wants to cut Social Security + Medicare + Medicaid, and he’s a “Trump won!” Republican. And House Republicans just unanimously voted for him as Speaker of the House.
Please take note: there are no “moderates” in the Republican Party.

Dave Wasserman
@Redistrict
"I've seen enough: in a victory for the pro-choice side, Ohio Issue 1, a measure to establish a right to an abortion in the state constitution, passes."

I am begging people to understand that reproductive rights is as much the right to become and remain pregnant as it is to terminate a pregnancy.
Encouraging all people capable of being pregnant to get their tubes tied or get a hysterectomy isn't the solution you think it is.
Most people who get abortions do so because they want to be able to get pregnant in the future.
Back-alley abortions often leave people unable to become pregnant again, even if they want to. Legal, safe abortion ensures that a person can terminate a pregnancy while still retaining the option and ability to become pregnant again.
PoC, disabled people, and trans and intersex people have historically been barred from the right to get pregnant and reproduce. These marginalized groups have faced sterilization and maternal mortality for a long time.
If you think reproductive justice is only about the right to *not* be pregnant, you are woefully misinformed.
Reproductive justice means people should be able to control their own bodies, whether it means ending or preventing a pregnancy, or becoming pregnant and remaining pregnant.
Reproductive justice means that healthcare providers should and must address the barriers and dangers PoC, disabled people, and trans and intersex people face when it comes to obstetrics and gynecology.
Reproductive justice means lowering the maternal mortality rate for black people in America.
Reproductive justice means not sterilizing disabled people and providing safe options for disabled people who want to become pregnant.
Reproductive justice means acknowledging that trans people may want to become pregnant and not mandating they be sterilized in order to legally transition.
Reproductive justice means not sterilizing intersex babies and children in the attempt to make them fit into a dyadic, binary sex.
Reproductive justice is not just about abortions.

📍 Today marks the anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade, which struck down several Texas laws that criminalized abortion. Roe changed the abortion landscape in the U.S., though it didn’t ensure access for everyone. Roe should have been the floor, not the ceiling for abortion access. As we come up on almost two years since Roe fell, it is hard not to see the same issues resurfacing. In Texas and throughout the country, pregnant people are facing criminalization for their pregnancy choices and outcomes. The reality is the Supreme Court’s decision and the state bans that followed don’t recognize the intricacies of people’s lives and experiences. Abortion bans harm real people and their families.
✊ It’s on us to continue the fight for our rights, not only for us – but for future generations.
Image description: Digital illustration of a diverse group of eight faces. There’s text in the center that reads, ‘abortion is freedom,’ with secondary text scattered throughout the image that reads, ‘from poverty, from a future I don’t want, from a life threatening pregnancy and from the wrong partner.’

WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court ruled Friday that Americans no longer have a constitutional right to abortion, a watershed decision that overturned Roe v. Wade and erased reproductive rights in place for nearly five decades.
