As a psychotic system who is quoigenic, please do not use psychosis as a scapegoat for your anti-endo sentiments. You do not get to sit there and say "endos are just psychotic, not actual systems". Our system experiences do not come from our psychosis, but even if they did, would that mean we deserve to be harrassed?

Delusions and hallucinations are worsened for a lot of psychotic people by active harrassment and/or denial. If someone actually is a system due to a delusion, they are just as real as anyone else because you know what? They feel like they are, and that will not be changed with any amount of yelling at them or putting horrible asks in their inbox. Their percieved reality is altered but they feel the experiences of being plural and we are not qualified to go around accusing people of being less real. Feeding into delusions can also cause harm and every psychotic person is different, but harrassment will not help anyone.

You let your hatred of a community of plurals just trying to exist bleed into ableism toward others who are already so stigmatised. You do not care about psychotic people or disabled people at large, you only care about pushing your hate forward. We are not your "gotcha" card.

While on the subject of plurality, I cannot stress enough how some terms are not interchangeable for everyone and how important it is to respect that (otherwise it can come off as kind of dehumanizing).

If someone uses the term "headmates" for their system, please do not use "alters".

If someone uses "fictive" please do not use "introject" for them.

The same applies to a myriad of other plural terms but the main point is: respect what people call themselves

Uh, so I know I might gain the ire of some folks, but not all systems doubt their plurality. A vast majority do, but not all, and there are some systems that have never doubted they were plural once.

I feel like mentioning this because I see it stated often as almost a fact of plurality, and I know this is an area fakeclaimers could possibly exploit. Now sure, if you don't doubt most fakeclaiming will be water off a duck's back, but it's still something that could be taken advantage of, and I don't ever want to see that happening. Systems that don't doubt are valid, just as ones who do are.

Traumatized Endogenic System flag!

for endogenic systems who have trauma! this may be due to your system not having to do with your trauma, being traumatized after you formed (like us!), or even having alters with exotrauma (also like us)!

We don't know of any books, but there are academic articles on endogenics!

General Articles:

Enacted Identities: Multiplicity, Plurality, and Tulpamancy: It's talking about plurality, but is heavily focused on the non-traumagenic sides of the community.

Multiplicity: An Explorative Interview Study on Personal Experiences of People with Multiple Selves: One endogenic system took part in the study, and the researchers discuss their overall findings and the possibility of some sort of hereditary component to some systems.

Dissociation and Transformation: Talks about the possibility of dissociation being a symptom of good health, rather than always pathological.

Dissociative Experiences in the General Population (pdf): Surveys a city for dissociative experiences, and found that at least some spontaneous dissociative experiences may be due to endogenous factors.

Alterity: Learning polyvalent selves, resisting disabling notions of the self

Differences Between Trance Channeling and Multiple Personality Disorder on Structured Interview: Compares trance channeling and MPD (what is now called DID), and concludes that differences in experiences may have to do with whether they're trauma-based or not. (Channelers aren't necessarily endogenic, but it does go into why despite having multiple identities, trance channelers don't have DID. This may be relevant for some forms of spiritual endogenic plurality.)

New Age 'Channeling' and Theories of Dissociation: Applying a 'Structural Dissociation of the Personality' Model to the Case of Jane Roberts: A really good thesis comparing a famous channeler (Jane Roberts) with dissociative identity disorder. So, there you have it!

A RAMCOA survivor used the term "system hopping" to refer to their own experiences. The anti-endos took this Tweet and ran with it, using them as a pawn and claiming that the term was stolen from the RAMCOA community.

They repeated this lie over and over again with zero sources, until the creator of the Tweet felt like they had to delete it because they hated it being used to verbally abuse people.

Personally, I think the deletion of the Tweets is unfortunate, and wish that there were archives available for informational purposes.

But this explanation does make things clearer. It explains why the narrative only started over the last year or two after "system hopping" had been in use in the community for at least 8-15 years. (8 that I've been able to find sources for. 15 according to Lunastus.) It explains why even the people who say they are "part of these communities" don't even provide any personal experiences of when they encountered these terms for the first time. And it explains the overall lack of any evidence for these claims.

Can we toss this on the ever-growing pile of anti-endos lying and twisting facts to defame the plural community and terms we use?

Can I repeat, once again, that this is why these terminology debates like the ones surrounding terms like "endogenic" and "tulpa" should not be taken in good faith, because anti-endos will lie to attack any of our terms as ways to prevent us from speaking about our experiences.

It's rare for children to display distinct alters (not impossible, just a rare occurrence in a rare disorder (based on numbers, it's considered rare, yes), alters tend to form in mid-teens)
