Eddie didn’t like children. Well correction, he didn’t like little children. He watched the tiny humans run around the streets of the trailer park with their capes and missing teeth and it freaked him out. He saw the woman two trailers over with a baby in his arms and cringed at the sight. The little ones freaked him out. What good were the little fleshbags other than staring unseeingly into the distance and screeching through the neighborhood? He didn’t know so he avoided all of them like the plague.

Steve loved kids. He loved the innocence they had and the glow in their eyes when they looked up at people. He remembered when he had innocence and a shine of hope in his eyes. Simpler times those had been. But he loved kids, helping them and making sure they kept their innocence and hope for as long as humanly possible. However, he too didn’t like little ones. Babies were so frail and fragile that he was always far too scared to even go near them.

That’s why it was the perfect option to adopt a four year old girl and her six year old brother. They were big enough not to be “useless fleshbags” according to Eddie and they were big and enough not to be seen as overly delicate to Steve. When they chose to adopt the siblings into their small family, Steve and Eddie made things complete.

robin slips off the top of a high rise. nightwing without thinking (and without a grapple) jumps after him and manages to wrap himself around robin but they are now hurtling towards the below traffic. red robin and red hood are standing at the top watching them fall when red pulls a line from his belt and hands it to hood.

“don’t let go.” he says and hood can barely manage a “what?!” before red is jumping off to grab the other two.

and that’s how robin, nightwing, red robin and red hood were seen all dangling precariously from the top of a high rise.

Sabo’s not being serious though he’s just forwarding from Garp (who is not being ironic) . But in all seriousness Sabo would probably say “GOOD MORNINGGGG” and scornfully demean Ace’s lack of energy and the fact that he said good morning at 1:37pm in the afternoon. Anyway, this continued for about 2 years before Ace realised he was not in the family group chat and was not receiving these from Garp anyway. Suddenly everything made sense.
