here's the Meleanor chibi speedrun! upfront warning for some flickering and/or flashing throughout from all the sped-up zooming/layer changes.
it turns out I only really recorded up to when I exported the PSD for the first time, so I went back and recorded a bit more to at least show a little of the reworked cape breakdown and background. and then bounced her rig around so you can see a bit of it too! the parts I'm not too embarrassed to show, anyway
even sped up it's still like 47 minutes (s-she took a really long time to make okay), so there are timestamps/chapters in the description if you click through! I certainly don't expect anyone to sit and watch it through, but maybe it'll be interesting to skip around in?

two things about lena kelley:
1. she says "i'm afraid i won't be able to join you at the [pub]". what if she literally can't leave the OIAR building?
2. she says gwen doesn't "have what it takes" to do lena's job. that could just be a jibe at gwen's work ethic, sure, but what if there's a deeper meaning to it? what if there's another, less mundane requirement to be a manager at the OIAR?

Wow OK so…
I just finished reading the 🧊🍈 short novel and I'm in denial, how good it was
I laughed so much, idk if it was intentional, but just…
I love it so much
That's all the words that I can say atm…
I still need to digest how good it was

Over the years, I've gotten a lot of cis people messaging me about how they should go about dating or courting somebody who's trans, and I always felt like my responses would almost... disappoint them because there isn't this magic secret to dating us.
Cis people, if you want to date us, just date us. We're human beings, we're not wild animals to tame! I promise you can have a healthy relationship with a trans person without needing to feel like the world will end if you mess up.
Trans people who date cis people often want to feel secure in your acceptance of them. You don't have to talk about our transness for hours on end to prove that you accept your loved one. You don't have to put on a display and cabaret about how Much You Accept Us. Just be a person around us, and let us be people, too!
I almost want to disappoint cis people by reminding them of this. Some of the best relationships I've had with cis people have been ones where my transness is acknowledged, sure, but it's acknowledged in the same way that my left-handedness is. It's not a joke to them, it isn't something to be horrified about, but it's also something that they don't objectify me for.

hi! first off i wanted to say that i love your art so much its so so pretty and secondly i was wondering, since youre like the ceo of ryomina, if you had any good ryomina fanfic recommendations ? :>
THANK YOU :D !! and hehe thank u for giving me the chance to ramble abt the two ryomina fics that have been consuming my brain lately (that are both written by my lovely fellow ryomina ceos <3)
first off !! the twilight wants him back by @chatlote
it's a canon divergent fix-it fic that takes place from november onwards featuring sees ryoji :> I think my favourite thing abt this fic is the way lina characterises both ryoji and makoto, like I genuinely adore how she writes them in this fic. both of their inner worlds feel so rich and detailed and i adore how the pov switches give us a look into makoto and ryoji's different outlooks !! seeing makoto and ryoji's different perspectives on the same events is so interesting and it adds so much depth of their interactions. it's been such a joy so far to watch those two slowly get to know each other while also exploring how makoto's dealing with everything he's experienced up until then (the way she shows how makoto's been dealing with loss is so. augh <3) and I'm so excited to see where this fic is headed ^_^ every update has me kicking my feet in excitement hehe
and then there's persephone's curse by @sweet-sirin
this fic took me on such an emotional rollercoaster that it hasn't stopped rolling around in my brain since I read it. it takes place post canon and if u know abt persephone than u can probably take a guess as to where this fic is going. I don't wanna say too much bcs I think this fic is best experienced knowing as little abt it as possible but its just a beautiful exploration of ryoji and makoto's characters and just how stubborn they can be in their own ways, especially ryoji. there's so many scenes in this fic that are just stuck in my brain. it felt like every single scene and every piece of dialogue has some sort of underlying/second meaning and it was a ride unpacking everything as I was reading. everything feels so purposeful and meaningful its just so. augh. it emotionally destroyed me and I don't think I'll ever recover <3 it'll live in a special corner of my brain forever
Also !! I haven't really gone down the ryomina fic rabbit hole myself yet so if you or anyone reading has some fic recs of their own please send them my way !! 🙏🙏

Did your character designs for Lunar Boy go through any fun changes?
Yes they did! Lunar Boy took 4 years to write and draw, and we were developing it long before that too! A lot of the characters went through story and visual changes, mainly in terms of fashion. I pitched Lunar Boy in class with one of the goals to be more fashion-conscious in character design (and maybe as a vessel for exploring my own identity in the process). I think the most prominent one being Aminah (the trans girl mentor of our titular Lunar Boy):
She was originally much older (like a graduate), and more punk-leaning, with a shaved head and sleeveless denim (and leggings?? why oh why past-me). As we got a hold of the color schemes in middle-grade, we toned down the darker colors in the cast for brighter more inviting colors fashion-wise. Aminah evolved to being more of a butch beach girl, because we wanted her to be sportier and wear looser clothes to combat the Southeast Asian heat lol. As she was aged down to be more of a high schooler, we figured it would make more sense if she was more jock-like. She now sports an outgrown undercut with a mullet. And that's where her design ended up!
Other characters went through similar things. Dariya (Lunar Boy's mom) got more personalized hijabi fashion, I gave Indu more than just hoodies to wear, there were originally three step sisters but for story reasons they got fused into one sister and she became an amalgamation of all of them.
I think out of the characters, Alon (angsty step brother) probably stayed the most consistent. We had a very specific look in mind for him. So yeah! A fraction of the many changes that happens when a graphic novel is in the oven for so long, haha. Thank you for asking, I hope you'll enjoy Lunar Boy once it comes out on the 14th of May!
