Hiiii could you write a Remus Lupin (as an adult) with x reader who is a student at Hogwarts? Like a teacher x student one maybe? Like Remus knows that that is wrong but he can’t resist her even if he really tries to. Write smut or fluff both is good :)
Thanks in advance 💐

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~°~❦~°~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     You walked down the spiraling staircase that lead from your dorm to the Ravenclaw common room, a series of hallways, and eventually the majestic great hall at Hogwarts.
You wrapped your cloak around yourself tighter in the chilly September temperatures. Even though you were within the walls of the castle, you still felt the cold in the air and rubbed your arms to stay warm.
     You finally came to the great hall, stopping for a second to look around. Even though you’d been going to school here for six years you still found it a breathtaking sight. You kept walking and found a spot at the Ravenclaw table next to Penelope Clearwater, your best friend of four years. You sat down, piling food onto your plate quickly and shoving it into your mouth even quicker.
     “Woah, slow down (Y/n)!” Penelope said.
     “Good morning to you too,” you teased, “I’m in a hurry. I’ve got Defense Against the Dark Arts in ten minutes.”
     You had probably taken too many classes for your own good this year. But you wanted to take as many subjects as you possibly could in your last year at Hogwarts. And you wanted to start this year off by not being late to your first class.
     “So do I,” Penelope took a bite of a biscuit, “Third floor right? I’ll walk with you.”
     You finished your breakfasts and gathered your books, heading towards the staircase that would take you to the third floor.
     “So who do you think we’re gonna have this year?” you asked your friend. Every year since your 5th year when Professor Quirrell had been killed in a fight with Harry Potter after he began aiding He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, you’d had had a different Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. You shuddered, thinking of the dark wizard.
     “I don’t know, but I hope whoever it is actually teaches us something instead of the other way around,” she said. You laughed, knowing she was referring to Professor Lockhart, your last DADA teacher.
     You turned a corner, passing a few other students with early classes making their way down the hallway.
     You walked into the classroom and found a man with his back to you, his head bent over a book on his desk. His robes looked well worn, and his brown hair looked as if he’d been running his fingers through it. Upon hearing you and your friend walk into the classroom, he turned around noticing you and Penelope and giving you a warm smile.
     “Good morning…,” he paused waiting for you to tell him your names.
     “I’m (Y/n) (Y/l/n) and this is Penelope Clearwater,” you answered.
     “Well Miss (Y/l/n) and Miss Clearwater, I’m Professor Lupin. I’m afraid you’re a bit early, but please take a seat anywhere you like.”
     You smiled back at him as you went to sit in one of the chairs closest to you. Penelope sat down next to you and began flipping through one of the textbooks she held. You watched Professor Lupin as he went about what you assumed was finishing preparing his classroom. He looked tired, as if he hadn’t had a good nights rest in some time but there was something about the way he carried himself that seemed to hint at a subtle energy. Intrigued, you continued to watch him. He mumbled a few spells, rearranging what you hoped weren’t crates holding some sort of magical creatures.
     “(Y/n)? Did you hear me,” Penelope broke you out of your thoughts.
     “Oh, sorry, got distracted. What did you say?”
     She rolled her eyes, smiling, “I just asked what you thought of the Professor but I think I have my answer.”
     You blushed despite yourself, “What’s that supposed to mean?”
     “Nothing,” she said cryptically.
     You wanted to press her further but plenty of other students had started to filter in and take their seats and Professor Lupin now stood in front of the class, waiting.
     “Good morning everyone,” he said, “as most of you know, I am going to be your Defense Against the Dark Arts professor this year.”
     He started pacing and continued. “I hope all of you will take this class as an opportunity to not only learn how to defend yourselves but to grow as witches and wizards. I want you to look inside yourselves. Most of all, I hope you come out of this class today with more questions than answers. I can see the potential in all of you as I look around this class and ask that you always apply yourselves to your full potential so you can become the best versions of yourselves.” He looked at the class with a smile and a twinkle in his eye.
     You listened aptly and could have almost sworn he was looking right at you as he finished his speech, his eyes burning holes into your forehead. You looked down quickly, smiling to yourself.
     “Now if there are no questions, I invite all of you to turn your books to page 10 and let us begin.
₊˚ ✧ ‿︵‿୨୧‿︵‿ ✧ ₊˚
     “I’m telling you, you like him,” Penelope said as she fought to walk faster to keep up with your pace as you tried to get to your next class and away from this conversation.
     “Penny, he’s a professor and you’re delusional.”
      She pulled at the strap of her bag as you guys walked. “I see the way you look at him.”
     You stopped abruptly, “Since when did focusing in class because I want to get good marks become fancying the teacher?” Besides, there was something about Professor Lupin that you just liked, even though you were only a few months or so into the school year. And not only because he was, you thought, attractive with his bright smile and kind eyes. He was intelligent and wise but also patient and you could tell he really cared for his students. Not that those students necessarily included you…
    “I see the way he looks at you too,” your friend wiggled her eyebrows.
     “Ok, that’s it! No more romance novels for you,” you began walking again. You quickly added, “And besides he doesn’t really like me, remember?.”
    “I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Penelope matched your pace, “Why wouldn’t he? You make perfect marks and answer all his questions in class.”
     It was true. You had kind of become known for being a teachers pet in most of your classes—much to the amusement and teasing of your best friend and the appreciation of your professors. Especially Lupin. Until recently, he had beamed every time you answered one of his questions or volunteered to demonstrate a spell. However, lately you got the feeling he didn’t like you all that much. Or at least was indifferent to you. You weren’t sure why, and couldn’t be certain, but you thought you didn’t imagine that he avoided looking in your direction. You tried to tell yourself it didn’t bother you, but it did. You cared about his approval, wether you wanted to admit it or not.
     “Drop it, Penny, ok?” She didn’t look like she would drop it anytime soon.
     “‘Oh, Professor Lupin, what spell would you recommend using here? What is the counter-curse to this charm? Why don’t you love me? Why haven’t you asked me to marry you yet?” She mocked, giggling.
     “I heard that,” you snapped, not looking back.
     You walked into Defense Against the Dark Arts together and found all of the desks pushed to the side and a group of students crowded in the center of the room with Professor Lupin standing next to a large wardrobe at the front. Turns out your pause in the hallway has made you a bit late, so you and Penelope snuck in right as class was starting.
     “Alright students: Boggarts,” Professor Lupin said, not noticing as you two entered the classroom late, “who can tell me what they are?”
     “They’re shapeshifting creatures, known for turning into the worst fear of whoever comes upon them,” you answered instinctually.
     “Show off,” Penelope mumbled, teasing you. You elbowed her in the rib.
     “Very good, excellent!” Lupin beamed, looking around the grouping of students trying to find where the voice came from. Upon seeing who had answered him, he looked down and cleared his throat, continuing. You bit your cheek and looked at Penelope, as if to say: See? She furrowed her brow.
     “Boggarts can only take the shape of a fear. They have no form of their own and therefore cannot hurt you. Now, I’m going to open this cabinet and I want a volunteer to step forward—don’t worry, you’ll all get a chance to participate—and at my command use the spell ‘Riddikulus’. Are you ready?”
     The first student, a nervous-looking boy with red hair, stepped forward.
     Lupin took a few steps backwards, hand ready to open the cabinet. “Now, relax, hold your wand like so…and remember, the only thing you have to fear is fear itself.”
     He pulled it open with a flourish and within seconds a large scorpion took form. The boy let out a yell and jumped backwards but Lupin stayed calm, telling him what to do. Eventually, he was able to gain control of himself and the scorpion briefly donned a cowboy-hat before it was gone. The class applauded and the boy held his chin a little higher than he had before.
     In turn, all of your classmates had a go with the Boggart, which turned into a variety of fears from snakes to clowns to a stalk of celery, and when it finally came time for you to step forwards you weren’t feeling particularly terrified.
     “Ready?” Lupin asked. When you nodded, he let the cabinet open and you almost stopped breathing entirely.
     There, in front of you, was who could only have been He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named himself, grinning wickedly. You felt your legs turn to lead and watched as he reached out a bony finger towards you. You, of course, had never actually seen him, but you had no doubt that’s who stood in front of you. Rooted in place you felt like the world was spinning. You heard the other students’ distorted screams, as if they were coming from very far way and the last thing you remembered was Professor Lupin’s concerned face as he rushed towards you before everything went dark…
₊˚ ✧ ‿︵‿୨୧‿︵‿ ✧ ₊˚
     Light. The first thing you saw was a bright light as you squinted your eyes and tried to make sense of what was happening. You shut your eyes again. The last thing you remembered was being in class, the screaming of your classmates, and Vol—
     You shot up, your memory returning. You looked around you. You were sitting on a couch and appeared to be in a small sitting area decorated in browns and greens. Your head pounded but you felt wide awake. Suddenly, a voice startled you from behind.
     “Miss (Y/l/n), good you’re awake.” You looked around you and saw Professor Lupin standing in the doorway behind you holding a steaming cup of tea.
     Embarrassment flooded through you. You attempted a smile. Lupin walked over to you, handing you the cup of tea and offering you a piece of chocolate.
     “Take this,” he said gently, “It’ll help.”
     You took them gratefully. Lupin sat down next to you.
     “How are you feeling?” He asked, “Does anything hurt?”
     “Just my pride,” you smiled ruefully. Professor Lupin smiled back at you, the first time he’d really smiled at you in months. You wondered what had brought on the change but figured it was probably just because you’d passed out in his class and he felt bad for you.
     “There’s no shame in being afraid, (Y/n),” he assured you. “If I’d known your Boggart would take the form of Vol—You-Know-Who, I promise I wouldn’t have made you face it.”
     You appreciated his attempts to make you feel better, but you doubted anyone had ever fainted in his class before. You didn’t even know why, really. You-Know-Who was gone, or at least that’s what everyone was saying. There were…rumors though. But still.
     “How long was I…out for?” You asked.
     “Not long,” he answered, “I know your friends will be glad to see you awake, though.” He made to get up.
     “Wait,” you stopped him, “where am I exactly?”
     He sat back down. “Oh, right, I—I brought you to my chambers. It was the first place I could think for you to lie down.”
     “Well, you have lovely taste,” you gestured around the apartment, admiring the decor. Professor Lupin laughed. “I’d say it’s nice in here if I wasn’t here on the grounds that I fainted in front of the whole class like a total loser.”
     Lupin smiled, “Like I said, there is no shame in fear. And you’re not a loser. You’re one of the brightest students of your year and any Professor would be lucky to have the honor to teach you.”
     You were touched. You weren’t sure that  Lupin had uttered this many words to you in a month, much less so complimentary.
     “Thank you,” you told him.
     He looked at you warmly, and then as if suddenly catching himself, he looked at the clock on the far wall and said curtly, “Well, I really should be getting back to class and you need rest, stay as long as you like.”
     You didn’t know what had brought on this sudden change in the professor’s mood but it frustrated you. You were grateful to him for helping you but suddenly just as you felt like he saw you as a person again, he dismissed you. Maybe on any other day you would have just let him leave, but now, lying on Remus Lupin’s couch and having already made a fool of yourself, you surprised yourself by saying, “Why do you hate me?”
     Lupin stopped in his tracks, turning around, “(Y/n), what?”
     Now that you had said it, you couldn’t stop saying things. “It’s just, I’m a good student. And I always participate in class and you can’t even look at me! And then you’re kind to me one second and the next you just act like I don’t exist. I just—what did I do to you?” You realized your head was hurting again and you leaned back on the couch cousin.
     Lupin looked like he was fighting with himself and then he ran a hand through his hair and sat down beside you. “Miss (Y/l/n), i don’t hate you I can promise you that.”
     When you didn’t say anything, he continued, “I think your a phenomenal student—person. Your bright and kind and wise beyond your years—” he breaks off, “and it isn’t that I don’t like you. I—the problem is, I like you too much.”
     What? You didn’t understand him. He sensed your confusion and tried again.
     “I never in my wildest dreams imagined saying this to you,” he looks down, “but here we are. You deserve the truth. I like you, Miss (Y/l/n). A lot. And the reason I find it hard to look at you is because I cannot deny my attraction to you and I know how wrong it is but I can’t—gosh I can’t believe I’m telling you this. I can’t resist you and it’s painful to look at you when I know I can never do anything about it.”
     You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. Of all the things you’d expected him to say…. You found yourself blushing. You tried to form words but couldn’t, your head still spinning. Lupin stood up.
     “Now I think it’s best if I leave,” he moved towards the door.
     “Wait,” you found yourself saying. You walked closer to him, close enough so you could see the faint scars on his face and smell his scent of vanilla and cinnamon. You looked into his eyes and saw the struggle there. You didn’t know if it was the lighting or adrenaline or maybe it was still the effects of what had happened this afternoon but you leaned in and suddenly you were kissing him.
     He pulled away, “(Y/n), we can’t—” but you pulled him in again. This time he didn’t fight it, kissing you back softly at first, hesitant, but then more passionately and you could feel the months he’d spent  waiting to do this but telling himself it would never happen. He moved a hand to your hair, the other on the small of your back.
     He pulled away again. “(Y/n), we don’t have to do this. There are plenty of guys your age who’d be lucky to have you and I don’t want to tie you down with a—”
     “I want you,” you interrupted, kissing him again.
     Neither of you heard as the door opened and—
     “(Y/n),” a voice said, “someone said you were in here and—” the voice stopped abruptly.
     You and Lupin pulled apart, gasping as you turned around and stared at Penelope. Her mouth was open and she was looking between the two of you in utter disbelief.
     “Well, I just wanted to make sure you were ok but it seems you are,” she mumbled, a small smile forming on her lips.
     “Miss Clearwater,” Professor Lupin started but you interrupted him.
     “It was my fault Penny, I kissed him.”
     “Now, Miss (Y/l/n),” Lupin began but this time
     Penelope interrupted both of you, now smiling big, “I don’t care who’s fault it is, I’m just glad it finally happened.” You stared at her, amused.
     “Hey, I’m the one who said you were in love with him after months of you obsessing over him and—”
     “That’s a gross exaggeration.” Your cheeks flamed and Lupin smiled down at you. “And Penny—”
     “Don’t worry, your secret’s safe with me!” She beamed, putting a finger to her lips. “I’ll be outside.” She walked towards the door, looking at you wickedly.
      “I’ll be out in a minute,” you called to her. And then you and Professor Lupin were alone again.
     “Sorry about…that,” you said.
     “Don’t be,” he put his hands in his cloak pockets, “I didn’t know you were obsessed with me.”
     “Ok, I’m going to kill her!” You stomped your foot but you were smiling.
     Lupin looked at you seriously now, and lifted a hand to brush your hair out of your face, “Still think I hate you?”
     “Maybe a little less,” you teased. You clasped his hand and he interlocked his fingers with yours.
     “You’re beautiful, (Y/n). You know that? You’re one of the most special people I  know.”
     You leaned up and kissed him gently. “I’m so glad this happened,” you whispered.
     “Me too,” he said.
Hell's Hounds Magic and Mystery Incorrect Quotes
because i said so and because Coil just updated
Dazai: What are you talking about Hermione? You love it here!  Hermione: I'm not sure I do, I think I've just developed Stockholm syndrome.
George: Dazai's first detention, I'm so proud.  Fred: Whoa, back up. Why did they get detention?  Ron: Because they're an idiot.  Hermione, terrified: They can do that??
Dazai: *coughs blood*  Fred: Don't die, Dazai!  Dazai: Don't tell me what to do! Draco: I made tea.  Ron: I don't want tea.  Draco: I didn't make you tea. This is my tea.  Ron: Then why did you tell me?  Draco: It's a conversation starter.  Ron: It's a horrible conversation starter.  Draco: Oh, is it? We're conversing. Checkmate.
Ron: Why aren't there friend pick up lines? Pick up lines to make friends like-  Ron, to Blaise: Hey, that's a cute outfit. You know where it would look better? On nobody else, because you're a beautiful individual.  Dazai, to Hermione: Be my friend or I'll set your entire family on fire.  Fred: There are two types of people.
Lockhart: You wanna fight?! You got one!  Dazai: Okay! *raises fists*  *Fred runs in, scoops Dazai up in their arms, and runs away carrying him*  Lockhart:  Lockhart: What?
George: You've been given a new job to do, but I'm worried it might make you angry.  Draco:  Just say it quick, like ripping off a band-aid.  George: You have to teach Dazai how to do magic.  Draco: ...put the band-aid back on.
Dazai: *gets set on fire and screams in agony*  Dazai: Nah, I’m just kidding. Fire does nothing to me.
Dazai: Arson? Oh, you mean "crime brûlée".
Dazai: I’m telling you, my dogs are competent.  Blaise, rushing in: Dazai! Fred tried to make pasta in the coffee pot and now it's broken!
George: If I can't cause tiny bits of chaos every day, I think my body will shut down.
Fred: Dazai, wake up!  Dazai, half asleep: Five more minutes…  Fred: You’ve been in a coma for two years!  Dazai: …  Dazai: Okay, two more minutes…
Fred: I’ve only had Dazai for a day and a half but if anything happened to them I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.
George: Hey, can we stay in your dorm tonight?  Dazai: Why?  George: Fred fiddled with an ouija board and cursed ours.  Hermione: Ron doesn't know how to banish spirits, so he just threw salt at them and yelled "DOES THIS LOOK LIKE A HOTEL TO YOU?!"
Draco: What are you planning to do?  Fred: Hey, now.  "Planning"?!  Do you KNOW who you're talking to?!
Draco: Stop failing.  Dazai: Don’t tell me what to do! I'll fail right now!  Dazai: *Succeeds*  Dazai: Dang it!
Draco: How do you sleep at night knowing people don’t like you?  Dazai: With the fan on.
wait so is Kia’s last name Lockheart or is that just a name he goes by also can we call him Mr.Kia or Mr.Lockheart
or is it strictly Kia or Dr.Lockheart
You guys honestly can just call him Kia ♡ if you wanna be more professional? You can call him dr. Lockhart. It makes him giggle. Mr/dr Kia seems silly to him. So just Kia is fine ♡
Here's a few other names he goes by!
With his husband's around
Kia Alexander arden (ernest)
Kia Alexander greenwood (skit)
Kia Alexander mc Coughlin (jack)
(Aide takes kias last name. Aide jabberlock or Aide lockhart)
Jelly belly
Tickle ribs
Kia (that's a given)
Dr lockhart
Captain (his past lore)
Doctor (flusters the shit outta him)
Baby bones (but that just puts him in a really soft and shy mood. If it's his husband's or his parents calling him it he gets super shy. Anyone else? He gets Hella offended and playfully annoyed)
Dadheart for those who see him as a comfort character as well. I'm sure there are more names but that's all I can think of.
I just wanna say, DUDE. The majority of what I know about amrev comes from your blog. Your in-depth posts literally have me FOAMING AT THE MOUTHH I don't have much time to read longer books due to school but I wanna feed my obsession so do you have any books on the shorter side or some websites/archives I can research/read a bit quicker? If not it's totally fine.
Also off topic but I'm loving "It Began About Dusk" on AO3 <3
OH MY GOD THE FLATTERY‼️‼️‼️ you’re making me blush here anon. im so glad that you find my posts helpful!!! AND IM SO GLAD YOU LIKE MY FICS i have a chapter of it began about dusk in the drafts rn so you’ll get more content soon
now this is a tricky question because im absolutely insane and ive barely ever read short books. right now im reading His Excellency by Joseph J Ellis and i recommend it!! its only around 2-300 pages which is the shortest history book ive got VSJWBW primary sources can be really good to get in book form, things like Common Sense by Thomas Paine, Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior (Washington’s rule book), and Memoir of Lieut. Col. Tench Tilghman, Secretary and aid to Washington are all primary sources i have on my shelf that are short and sweet.
i also have Hercules Mulligan by Micheal J. Obrien which i haven’t read but is VERY small. there is also James Monroe by Gary Hart which is short but i have not finished (i dont even truly remember reading it but i annotated part of it apparently), The Drillmaster of Valley Forge by Paul Lockhart is a little longer than those others, but still isn’t chernow levels of wrong, but i also haven’t read that one. Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates by Brian Kilmeade and Don Yaeger isn’t the most serious history book, but it is pretty good and an easy read.
as for secondary source websites, start with encyclopedias ie Britannica, which post short articles on different historical figures and events that give you the overview. from there im gonna point you to the National Park Service. this is the best thing the US government has ever made for researchers. this is all your battlefields, winter encampments, historical reproductions, and former capitals. also check out private residences turned museums, such as Mount Vernon, Monticello, and Schuyler Mansion. these institutions have an abundance of easily accessible information on more than just the people who lived there.
now the Library of Congress was a good decision on Jefferson’s part, but it can be inaccessible if you don’t know how to use it well because their website is one of my least favorite things about being alive. so instead, i recommend using Founders Online for any primary source regarding the founding fathers or amrev figures. the Washington Papers are filled to the brim with almost everything that went out of headquarters during all 8 years of the war. founders online is the shit
all of these websites i’ve mentioned are free to access, because i do not pay money on any research tools besides books out of spite for late stage capitalism. also any primary source is 100% accessible online. that includes memoirs and court transcripts, which can be very helpful
also i really do recommend watching documentaries and informational videos on the subjects you’re interested in while doing work or other things if you’re someone who does that (ik some people don’t have background noise but im just assuming you’re as neurodivergent as i am) because you can absorb just a little of that information and it being about a subject of interest can make academics seem a little less miserable!
i hope this is helpful and if you have absolutely any further questions, feel free to ask. i know im very privileged to have the time and resources to read long ass books, which is why i very freely share the information i absorb with the public bc i believe education should never be gatekept by anyone. so if you have any questions, im happy to research them for you, or at least point you in the right direction. love ya!!
I made some fluff!
Severus Snape and The Chamber of Secret Growing Affections and Confusing Feelings
Word count :1200 ish
Severus Snape x Gender Neutral Object of Affection
Warnings: a swear word or two.
Summary: The new teacher's assistant is charming in a way that Severus can’t help but be affected by.
“Oh bollocks.” Snape muttered under his breath as he rounded the corner into his classroom and found the new teacher’s assistant hanging out of the cupboards on the far side of his classroom.
The new aid was something of a conundrum for Severus. They were irritatingly charming. And not in the usual way that charming people were irritating. They did not force their attentions on people, rather they had an annoying tendency of drawing them in and making them laugh when they least expected it.
Just yesterday in the staff room everyone was gathered around slagging off the new Defense against the Dark arts hire, Gilderoy Lockhart, and the sweet smiley thing had made him choke on his cup of tea with unexpected laughter when they had called him a “caped cunt”. Snape hated to admit it, but they really lit up a room, especially with unexpected vulgarities. Severus felt so uncomfortable with this newfound sensation of being grateful when the stranger arrived to join his normal comfortable group. It was contrary to his nature.
The other reason Severus was consistently made so uncomfortable by the teacher’s assistant was currently staring him in the face. The eager thing had purchased themselves several repeats of what they no doubt deemed a suitable aspiring teacher’s apparel. On its surface the clothes were guilty of nothing, plain white shirts, and several colours of the same set of tweed wool garments. It was the fit that was the problem. They had so nicely chosen a cut that suited their body and the wool clung then swept away in a manner most enticing.Their waistcoats truly drew the eye in, two rows of brass buttons on each one in a V shape. It was not good either way, look down the V and there was their waist, looking like it needed hands placed on either side and look up the V and their chest was there, so nicely encapsulated in wool and white shirt. Now this fresh hell of their rear end protruding from his cupboards when he had not expected to be so presented with it.
“Oh Severus! Is that you?” They exclaimed when they hear his approaching footsteps. They started wiggling out of there and the Potion’s Master forced himself to look away. “I don’t want you to think I’m snooping. I saw your list you left me on your desk and I saw no reason not to get started right away since you have a free period. So far I took out all the textbooks and cleaned them. I was just getting rid of some cobwebs before I put them back.” They announced cheerfully as they stood up.
Snape nodded. “Thank you.” He said tightly, for he could think of nothing else to say. He noticed today’s necktie was green with white dots. They had seventeen colours of necktie and counting. It bothered the dungeon bat that he knew how many neckties he had seen them wear. It bothered him more that they had a black snooty mark on their nose and it was disgustingly adorable.
“You have something on the end of your nose.” He informed dutifully. They fished for a handkerchief and wiped at their face.
“Did I get it?” They asked.
“No.” Severus answered and then, before he knew what was coming next they had taken their glasses off and were looking up at him with their surprisingly lovely eyes and wiping at their nose more, leaning in closer, asking for assurance that they have gotten it now. Worse, they hadn’t gotten it, leaving Severus no choice but to take the handkerchief from their outstretched hand and dab at the tip of their nose and now that their glasses were pushed up into their hair he could see there was more on their cheek. He followed the soot across the face of the annoyingly alluring aid.
“Thanks!” They smiled as he finished. “I have an appointment to help the golden blunder after you, and you know how foppish he is. Would probably send me off the scrub up before I was allowed to enter his rooms.” They laughed and magiced the books back into the newly clean selves. “What else can I help you with, Severus?”
Why did his name sound different in their mouth? Why did their voice colour it in that way? “Nothing really. Early in the school year I do not need much assistance. In a few weeks if you can help me run potions result testing, I find that the most useful.” Severus informed.
“Ah gotcha. Test the sleeping draughts and what not?” They ask, putting their glasses back on.
“Yes.” Snape answers, feeling the need to step away now that the cleaning of the smudge was complete but not wanting to make it uncomfortable.
“As long as you promise not to make fun of me if I snore!”
“I don’t make…fun…”
“I’ll make it fun. Don’t worry.” They winked at him. Actually winked at him. “If you don’t want to use me any more I guess I’ll go see Clocktart.” They rolled their eyes, which got so sparkly when they were smiling. Severus suddenly felt he must have tied his neckcloth too tightly.
“If you wish… I could scrounge up some more things to do if you would rather spend time down here than go up to see him.” Severus offered tentatively.
“Could you?” They asked, turning back from leaving and coming back over. “Gilderoy really has no trouble treating me like a lackey. I’d love to hang out down here if you have something for me.”
Severus didn’t really have anything for them to do, he suddenly realized. He had been about to brew an example potion for his 7th years. “How are you at chopping?”
“I’ve been told I’m quite good with my hands.” The little grin at the corner of their mouth always made Severus feel quite wary. Is that smirk friendly? Couldn’t possibly be anything more than friendly.
“Well if you’d like, you can help me prep ingredients. I will have to check your work, I’m very exacting when it comes to preparation. Just so you know what you’re getting yourself into.” The head of Slytherin warned.
“Oh I don’t mind you looking over my shoulder. I’ve always been glad when someone tells me what to do and exactly how to do it.”
There were a great deal of things Severus would like to show them exactly how to do. He had to shake them all out of his head. It was only September. There were a lot more months of having this tweed covered, bespectacled, smiley person under his nose and he knew he needed to stop mistaking their twinkly eyes for flirtation.
Still, later in the morning when they called him over and asked him to correct their form using his hands he had to wonder. When they walked behind him while he stirred, they placed a hand on his back. Just to let him know they were behind him? When they got them both a glass of water while Severus was in the middle of brewing without his asking for one.
When the potion was finished and they were on their way out, they stopped right beside Severus, rested their fingertips on his wrist and said “Thanks for saving me from spending all day with that self obsessed nightmare. You’re my hero.”
So many possible responses came to mind and none quite right so Severus just smiled and tried not to read into the lingering fingers. He went back to to the brew, preparing a vial, and he almost didn’t realise the lingering smile he wore on his lips. When he did, he whispered “Bullocks” under his breathe once more.
Seth Wingstrom: Ace Attorney - Devil's Advocate
After five long years of studying to be a defense attorney, Seth Wingstrom is ready to hit the courtroom opposite his twin brother Raphael. The two are determined to work as a team amidst the chaos of the Dark Age of the Law and set an example, to hopefully turn everything around the way a certain idol of Seth's once did.
Everything goes topsy-turvy, however, when Seth's first case is thrown into his lap by the amnesiac Verity, who insists that one Friday Adett is innocent of murder. It's not long before Seth's new acquaintances start clashing with his existing one, and he's forced to question whether his friends or his brother have his best interests at heart, all while trying to concentrate on doing his job.
Who is Verity? Why do star and Friday care about him so much? What is Raphael hiding from him? And what connection do they all share with currently missing prosecutor Pandora Spinelli?
Work in Progress
Seraphina Bright, Vendetta ver Captionem, and Joshua O'Reilly used to know each other as kids, before time and tide separated the three of them. Now, reunited on the same college campus, the three have discovered that a lot can change in ten years. Sera's attempts to see past the flaws of her former friends are harshly interrupted, however, when the three tumble into the fantasy world of Arcadia without any warning.
Greeted by the toony Cadell Lockhart, the three seek her help in returning to the real world. Cadell, seeing the pain they're all in from their lives, is reluctant to aid their quest... but though the trio may have been removed from reality, reality hasn't been removed from the trio. Their trauma and personalities clash wildly with the idyllic, fun-loving Arcadia, and it's a race against time to return them where they belong before their presence destroys the blissful world that Cadell calls home.
Giving Up the Ghost
Sasaki Akiko has been able to see ghosts since they were eight years old. They don't know how it happened. All they know is that their mother Sasaki Aoi got arrested, and then they were living alone with their useless father, Hidaka Hitoshi. But they're almost eighteen, and as long as they can get away from him, they should be fine.
Unfortunately, things are about to become a lot more complicated with the arrival of several new people in their life. The death of Aoi in prison has offered them a chance to bond with the mother they barely remember, their hopeless father has tumbled head over heels for grocery lady Jackson McIntosh, and lonely little Uchiyama Ayaka is begging them to find her dead brother so she can tell him goodbye.
Their mother is warning them that Hito is up to no good. The homeless kid Jackie's taking care of, Ko, seems familiar in far too many ways. Holes are cropping up in their memories.
Something is wrong, and Akiko's going to get to the bottom of it if it kills them.
An author who write bittersweet endings. Created a puppet so it could be someone better than her. (backfired)
A patient, diligent author who will take any task given to her. But mind you, she still have some limits even if she is an Immortal.
ᵇⁱᵍ ˢⁱˢᵗᵉʳ ᵛⁱᵇᵉˢ
Name: Jiyoon Lockhart (Han Jiyoon/한지윤)
"Jiyoon" 지윤 means "purpose" or "Good Luck" "Han" 한 means "King". "deep sorrow" or "resentment"
Nickname: Author/ Luck, LuckLuck
Other nicknames: Beauté froide/ Cold Beauty, Reine des Arts/ Queen of Arts, Reine des contes et fables/ Queen of tales and fables (Rook), Pufferfish (Floyd), Mushroom Appraiser (Jade), Fine potato (Vil), Author (UiO), Witch, Story/Fable maker (Mitch)
Relatives: UiO (So-called Sister), Miren (Half-brother), Aori (Cousin)
Species: Immortal (was originally a mortal at the age of 18)
A quiet laid-back immortal who enjoys being the one to witness peoples actions, on rare cases, jumping in if she ever sees a reason to do so. She rarely engage in any form of contact often letting her interest or curiosity lead her to new association. She finds inspiration in what little acts the people around her do, observing from afar, or interacting with them.
She is quite a curious soul despite roaming worlds and seeing many fascinating things throughout her journey. She is a responsible person who just wants to rest.
Hobbies: Drawing and Writing
Dorm: Pomefiore
Tumblr media
Best Subject: Arts
Club: Science Club
She is free to create and destroy anything, so why not?
Favorite Food: Pastries, Sweet and Spicy
Despite liking spicy, she prefers something that is mix between
Least Favorite Food: Bitter and Unpalatable
Bitter melons? Yes, never show that to her, even if you force her.
Unique (World) Magic: Written Effect
With something to write on and a quill, pen, and ink, she can write anything she wants to happen and create anything out of the paper.
It is possible to use it multiple times on multiple mediums. (notebooks, paper, etcetera.)
Sometimes, her written stories can come true, so careful when you ask her to write you something~
Examples of her power
Sentence: Written Effect (this is her most used)
The incomplete version of her power, works simply as what she says happens. Though as the writer she needs to be in the 3rd perspective, referring her subject as how she sees them (i.e. describe them)
ex; A light guides them to safety, running away, fluttering softly.
Story: Written Effect
A completion of her book allows her to bring it to life, creating a very own universe for the "story" to play through the written words. She can also use it at the existing world, as long it has not happened yet.
Time ahead: Written Effect
works as a prediction as what she writes inside of her book happens in a specific time she wants. Using Time Ahead: Written Effect drains her energy significantly, depending on how heavy the content she wrote and want to happen.
Sacrifice: Written Effect
[DATA EXPUNGED!]
Was used a couple of times before Mitch decided to seal it away.
Original World: A world full of chaos. Now can't go back since the medium, UiO is with them.
Original Worlds Alias: Witch of Creation and Fables, Regressors Companion, Calamity Luck
--Additional Info!--
Jiyoon cannot stand Azul's blabber for contracts... she would very much explode in anger if he continues to advertise near her vicinity...
Writing stories and drawing is one of her stress relieves.
If given any chance, she, will curse Vil Schoenheit proudly... in her language of course. :)
Jiyoon just accepted her fate being followed by Rook Hunt after she confronted him and requested him to stop. Spoilers; he didn't.
Jiyoon and Lilia often talk about the past, sometimes hinting the trauma and talk it out together.
Curses (and poison) does not affect Jiyoon, though it will inflict pain, it will just vanish in an hour or so. Vil's unique magic does not affect her either.
She create paper origamis and paper human to either aid her in her work or put some entertainment.
She is accidentally Jade's (unexpected) friend after she accidentally let out a slip of information about certain mushrooms. (She tried her best to get away and lo and behold, it did not work.)
She is best friends with Kyong Dae and they regard each other as sisters-in-arms.
Origins: Claudia Strife is Cloud Strife’s mother and the caretaker of the Orphans from the Nibelheim Orphanage. Before she had settled down in Nibelheim, Claudia was part of a Sami group that used to live in the Nibel Area. She would often hunt, sew clothes from reindeer pelt with her mother, ski and snowboard with her friends and cousins, woodwork with her uncle, and listen to folk songs. Soon after Shinra started to become more mainstream when they put their first reactor in Nibelheim, it became noticeable that the plants and flowers started to wither and die and monsters started to appear around the village. As the villagers saw the Shinra Company as a very benevolent organization that denied that their reactor was responsible, they blamed the Nibel Sami for their “enchantments”. Since then, Claudia’s family has been discriminated against as some villagers even attacked them.
When she was about fourteen years old, she met a young man, named Styrmir Strife, who was a chemist who experimented with alternative fuel sources and toxicology. The teenage boy empathized with her clan and offered them to live on his field. This led to a conflict between the two childhood friends that eventually caused its breakdown. Brian did not even attend their wedding nor saw the birth of Cloud. After Cloud was born, the Myrsky Clan had left to head northward, which would make their visits less frequent.
Styrmir taught her alchemy during their marriage in secret from Shinra, mainly for materia and herbs. The couple had since experimented in their basement. Claudia also became creative when it came to creating medicine. She would then sell them to Dr. Lenox for his office.
One day, when Cloud was about a year old, Styrmir went hiking up to Mt. Nibel to get more herbs. However, he did not come back later that day. Days went by, with search teams, and there was no sign of him. Styrmir was presumed dead weeks later, leaving Claudia as a widow and raising an infant Cloud alone. Brian did attend Styrmir’s funeral but this had led to an argument between him and Claudia. It had gotten so intense that it nearly resulted in physical violence before they got separated.
Claudia and Cloud were deemed outsiders due to their Sami heritage, furthermore with the Mt. Nibel incident with Tifa. The only ones who were not prejudiced against her were Ms. Shaw, who is a reclusive older woman, Dr. Lenox, Mrs. Lockhart, her daughter, Tifa, and a handful of villagers. Dr. Lenox had hired her to be his pharmacognosist.
After Cloud had left for Midgar when he was 14, Claudia had become lonely. She would often stay at home and make medicine for a few years until one day, the villagers found a disturbing discovery. A few of the villagers discovered that there were mako tanks filled with young children in the Shinra Manor’s basement. She was one of the first people to clean them up and put them in the temporary infirmary. She even got some reindeer pelts to keep some of them warm when blankets ran out. Unbeknownst to her, she started an emotional connection with them as she noticed some scars on their bodies.
In the village meeting, Mayor Zander asked for any potential solutions to this sudden discovery. Brian wanted to contact Shinra for an explanation and that they should take the children. However, Claudia was quick to counter that, stating that Shinra was the one who put those children there and their intentions would be bad. She also mentioned that Shinra abandoned the children for the gods’ know how long. She offered to care for the children. Mayor Zander reluctantly agreed with her. While gathering some materials from the manor, she accidentally awakened Vincent. Though she was afraid of him, he managed to calm her down. After his explanation, she told him about the orphans and Shinra’s connection to them. Vincent decided to help her and the orphans, knowing that Hojo was connected.
Once the children awakened and recovered from mako poisoning, Claudia gave the children their names and the old clothes donated from some of the villages. She soon discovered unusual traits they have, such as how some of them either look like siblings, have deformities, or have strange abilities. Despite this, Claudia has grown attached to them. When the Turks tried to collect them back, the caretaker quickly called in Seldon, who is the village’s photographer and record keeper, to take photos of the orphans and send them to the newspapers as blackmail against Shinra. From this, Claudia can protect the orphans as the company does not want to hurt its public image.
Fortunately, this had worked. Though a bit too well.
This had drawn out Junio Shinra, the second wife of President Shinra, making her Rufus’ stepmother, and the PR executive. All she cares about is her public image and seeing herself as being above others, especially when it comes to Rufus. As soon as she saw the orphans, she was disgusted by them and angry that people sympathized with them. However, she used them as an opportunity for Shinra’s public image to avoid any discussion of war crimes. She decided to be a sponsor but with conditions. Reeve, knowing Junio, decided to be a co-sponsor, just to make sure that Claudia and the orphans were safe.
That is just the beginning for Claudia as the caretaker.
Hi! I hope you’re doing well!
I just wanted to ask about which, in your opinion, are the best books on Washington’s generals and staff? Working on a project and I’m stuck as to where to go for good info on this as a lot has been published on some of these men. I have a copy of Lefkowitz’s Indispensable Men, and a good hold on Hamilton in particular, however I was wanting to dig a little deeper into everyone else.
Apologies if this is a lot, but I figured I’d come to you as I’ve seen you’ve done an extensive amount of research for your own works. Thank you so much in advance and again, I hope you’re doing well!
George Washington's Generals and Opponents by Billias - not my favorite book on the subject of these people, but probably one of the most useful for what you're asking about.
My scope is pretty limited when it comes to which books I'm willing to read on individual characters, but my biggest recommendation for understanding the aides beyond what's in Lefkowitz (and really understanding Lefkowitz better) is to understand the military aspect of the war itself. Take it from the strategic level down to operational campaigns and all the way down to the tactical day-to-day movement. If you can demystify the military culture they lived in, it's a lot easier to imagine the context of what they're talking about in primary sources. Summaries of the whole war:
A Short History of the American Revolution by Preston - easiest summary to digest- salacious & offensive at times
The War of the Revolution by Christopher Ward - most useful. hands down.
The Glorious Cause by Middlekauff - meh. it's good but I don't enjoy it.
A Guide to the Battles of the American Revolution by Savas and Dameron - very very useful for tactical understanding of specific battles
The Real History of the American Revolution by Axelrod - sociopolitical and military summary. wholistic.
Summaries of campaigns or long encampments:
George Washington's Secret War by Thomas Fleming
The Philadelphia Campaign by David Martin** fav
Valley Forge Winter by Wayne Bodle
Fatal Sunday by Lender and Stone
Southern Campaigns of the American Revolution by Morill
This Destructive War by Pancake
The Road to Guilford Courthouse by Buchanan Steuben:
Drillmaster of Valley Forge by Lockhart
The Life of Von Steuben by Kapp Lafayette:
Lafayette by Unger
The Marquis- Lafayette Reconsidered by Auricchio
Adopted Son by Clary
WEREWOLF WREAKS HAVOC ON COMMUNITY,  SPRING EQUINOX ATTACK
2nd April 1986
Dearest readers, it is I, Gilderoy Lockhart, acclaimed columnist for the Daily Prophet and expert in Defence Against the Dark Arts. Today, I must share the horrifying tale of a werewolf attack that occurred outside Mr Mulpepper's Apothecary on the spring equinox. What started as a seemingly ordinary day quickly devolved into chaos, injuring several individuals.
The werewolf burst through the doors of Mr Mulpepper's Apothecary, attacking everything in sight. Its first victim was RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE, who fell in one foul slash of its claws. ANDROMEDA BLACK let out a blood-curdling scream but pulled out her wand and fended off the creature just long enough for ANNABETH PEBWORTH, DORCAS MEADOWES and DOUGAL MCKINNON to come to her aid. The group hit the werewolf with spells, sending it flying into Cobb & Webb's.
ANDRESSA PARKINSON was in conversation with LUCIUS MALFOY when the werewolf advanced upon her, slicing her with its talons before turning its attention to ROSALINE DAVIS and clawing down her arm. Fortunately, Dougal had sealed the monster's mouth closed, preventing it from biting anyone. Annabeth and Dorcas froze the creature, but the chaos was far from over.
I suspect someone uttered a reverse spell, freeing the werewolf from its frozen state. No beast can escape Petrificus Totalus and Glacius without aid. Annabeth, Dorcas, and Dougal were determined to stop the creature from causing any more harm, but despite being battered and bruised, the werewolf was too quick for them. It managed to escape in the direction of Hyde Park.
The victims of this horrific attack have since been transported to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, where they are receiving the best possible care. However, as a precautionary measure, I have personally emphasised the importance of administering the Wolfsbane Potion to anyone who may have come into contact with the werewolf.
In light of this appalling event, I urge everyone to remain vigilant and aware of werewolves and other magical creatures. While I have offered my expertise to the Ministry of Magic, they have not yet launched an investigation to identify the werewolf responsible for the attack.
Let this incident be a stark reminder that the magical world is not without its dangers. We must all do our part to ensure the safety of our community.
PANIC ON THE STREETS...                                                              OF LONDON
“Panic on the streets of London Panic on the streets of Birmingham I wonder to myself Could life ever be sane again?” - Panic, The Smiths (1986)
tw: blood, violence
The sound of music, clinking glasses and raised voices were heard long into the night. Events like these bring the strangest of people together, which is why some may have found it peculiar to see [MARLENE MCKINNON] with [ROSALINE DAVIS] arguing loudly about the last Ministry sanctioned event. Amongst them [ANNABETH PEBWORTH], [ANDROMEDA BLACK], [EDWARD TONKS] and [CORDELIA DAVIS] weighed in, though as some can attest that evening, some were more hinderance than help when trying to hush the scene that turned many heads.
But no one turns heads quite like [GILDEROY LOCKHART] who spent his evening rubbing shoulders with the pure-blood elite, namely [BELLATRIX BLACK], [RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE] and [REGULUS BLACK], who didn’t seem too impressed by his confidence and tendancy to talk about himself rather proudly.
Another proud peacock also drew attention that evening, [LUCIUS MALFOY] found himself a thorn between beautiful roses [VALERIA BULLSTRODE], [ANDRESSA PARKINSON] and [NARCISSA MALFOY] where the term flustered was quite frequently used until his cousin [CALLIOPE MALFOY] appeared and offered him a napkin for his “sweaty upper lip”.
Calliope signaled the chaos that was about to ensure that evening. Swanning into the event with a letter from Voldemort in their pocket, they selected Valeria as their prey, lured them into Knockturn Alley, had them wait for a moment alone and reappear as a werewolf. Claws extended, they attacked Valeria, waiting until she was unconcious to shift back into their human form. Taking Valeria’s hand they dragged her blood across their skirt, ripped it in a few places and emerged from the alley giving an oscar worthy performance.
Falling into Lucius arms, Calliope told of a wolf on the run who had attacked Valeria. Cordelia ran to her aid and began working to save her, but little did she know she’d have her work cut out for her that out.
In the distance a howl...
A werewolf burst through the doors of Mr Mulpepper’s Apothecary, attacking everything in sight.
First it was Rodolphus Lestrange, down in one foul slash of it’s claws. Andromeda Black let out a blood curdling scream, pulling out her wand and managing to fend it off long enough for Annbeth Pebworth and [DOUGAL MCKINNON] to help her. The group hit it with some spells that sent it flying into Cobb & Webb’s, before it took off insearch of it’s next target.
Andressa Parkinson was talking with Lucius when it advanced upon her, slicing her up with it’s tallons before quickly turning to Rosaline Davis where it clawed down her arm. Luckily, Dougal had sealed the monster’s mouth closed, leaving it unable to bite anyone. Annabeth then froze the creature, until Calliope Malfoy, still not finished creating chaos, muttered a reversal spell under their breath letting the wolf go free.
Annabeth and Dougal were not going to let it leave, but although battered and bruised the wolf was still too quick and made off in the direction of Hyde Park.
Before it could, it caught a scent. Familiar, that made all of the fur on it’s back stand on edge...
Bellatrix Black had been searching for Rabastan, confused as to why Calliope was in the alley yet a wolf was still attacking.
She’d seen that face before, knew those eyes, the markings.
“Corin Hale.” She said under her breath, her eyes wide.
With that the wolf howled just once more, long, deep and sad before running off out of the alleys, leaving Cordelia Davis and Edward Tonks to treat the wounded and apperate them to the hopsital and Bellatrix to consider the grave effects of Corin’s escape.
Swallowtail Butterfly
Swallowtail butterfly was an interesting film with elements of found family. Another even more interesting portion of the film is the background and careers of the actors that took part in this film. Specifically, that of the actors for Glico and Ageha. The director, Shunji Iwai used many different camera angles throughout the film which made the movie feel as most modern films. By far the greatest development that occurred throughout the film has to be with Ageha. Her slow and matured performance was captivating. I have to say though hearing “My Way” over and over again go pretty old and I still have that song stuck in my head now.
Starting with Shunji Iwais directing, he used many wide and far angle shots. Each of the shots included many characters in the film and large areas of open land and space. You can tell the budget was significantly higher for this film with the variety of areas they were able to cycle between to make this story. The helicopter shots in the beginning and end though were very disorienting though personally. The modernity of his shots from handheld angle, crane shots, close-ups, and the like all portray the growing technology capacity and development of the film industry in this era. This variety is likely what led more films to have additional complexity paired with a impactful storyline.
The element of found family is one that remains a strong element throughout the entire film. Ageha starts off with no name and is treated poorly by the other ladies who knew her mother and her. They sell her off and Ageha eventually makes her way to Glico. Glico takes her in and ends up treating her like a sister and aided in her finding a job in Yentown too. Glico also puts her trust in Feihong in the initial parts of the film but this dissipates as Feihong is arrested. Feihong demonstrates his care for both Glico and Ageha and the bond between them is shown several times. From Ageha bringing Feihong food in jail consistently, and dressing up each time. To Glico calling Feihong for help when she is being pursued by Ryanki’s gang. The relationship in this triangle breaks in the middle of the film but is restored again at the end. Ageha ends the film more outspoken, and Glico has forged and cemented her relationship with her new family, giving up being a singer. While Feihong is killed, he serves as the invisible and shared tie between Glico and Ageha, making the experience of their shared loss increase the bond of their relationship. This is seen as the two mend flowers to twine for Feihong’s funeral.
Focusing on the actors, there is some interesting information concerning the actors or Ageha and Glico. Glico’s actor is actually a Japanese singer whose stage name is Chara. With her role in Swallowtail Butterfly and other films, along with her voice, helping to elevate her in both the film and music industry. Ageha (Ayumi Ito) also went on to actually be a voice actress. She is the voice actress for Tifa Lockhart from final fantasy. Tifa may have even been modeled after Ayumi.
