It’s 2am and I just woke up and the pain meds are wearing off so sorry I’m being crazy everyone but this Monday I found out I could get top surgery on Friday and I asked the universe for signs in the form of cardinals, crows, and butterflies. Well the very next day I come face to face with a cardinal in a bush outside of my class building. I normally don’t even sit there I just had extra time and happened to think to walk over to this bench. And then the day after that a crow flew in front of my moms car when she was driving me to my pre-op. And then as soon as I get out of surgery, I see butterflies on my tumblr dash. And as they’re driving me home from the hospital we got lost in a parking garage and we were in an aisle that was labeled “Aisle *picture of butterfly*”. Like a picture. And ever since I’ve been seeing butterflies pictures everywhere!!!!! So just more proof and comforting signs from the universe that everything is great :) ALSO I keep seeing hawks everywhere which is so weird bc I had never even seen one until a couple of months ago when this guy started hanging out outside of my apartment and I literally saw multiple on the way to and from the surgery and my boyfriend keeps mentioning he saw them without me. And I looked it up and it says it means safety and your guides are watching over you. Isn’t this crazy!!!!

What Blessings Are Coming To You Within The Next 3 Months? {Patreon Exclusive}

The first blessing that I’m seeing is that your intuition is going to be almost tethered to you. You might feel like your intuition comes and goes - or at least your ability to connect to your intuition, since your intuition is always there - but sometimes you might feel like you are being blocked from tapping in to it. However, one of your blessings over the next three months is that you are going to experience your ability to tap into your intuition in a very consistent way. Your intuition is almost going to feel bound to you. Like you can’t get rid of it. Like it can’t go anywhere. Like you can’t be blocked from tapping into it anymore. And this is going to give you the opportunity to use your intuition to protect - not only yourself - but also other people. I’m seeing your intuition even scaring off energies in the spiritual realm as well as energies within other people who don’t have your best interest in mind. I’m seeing that the people who this scares off may be frightened by how it seems like you’ve all of a sudden been able to see through them by this point. For others of you, I’m seeing that you may be meeting new people who your intuition warns you against. The strength of your intuition and how they feel you’re able to see who they truly are and their true intentions will scare them off, because it seems to them like the secrets and the things that they would much rather hide are clearly being perceived by you.

Your next blessing is that whoever has been persecuting you, vilifying you, and sending a bunch of hating energy your way is going to experience a complete reversal in the direction of their negative energy. Whoever has been sending this persecution your way is going to be experiencing it for themselves. You may have done a return to sender for the witches out there or the magicians or the people who have discovered the ability to manipulate energy. Whichever way you do your return to senders, it is going to work and it is going to hit this person intensely. All these people. As I’m even seeing a group. It’s almost like they wanted to burn you at the stake (figuratively speaking), but there’s going to be a complete transformation in the direction of the energy. Whatever energy they’re sending your way is going to come back onto them. This is even hitting the bystanders. The people who have enabled this person or group who have been vilifying you. The same people who stood by and just watched and didn’t say anything and didn’t step in. It’s going to hit them too.

Another blessing is that you are going to experience some type of virility. A viral moment that you have manifested because you stepped into the magician energy and understood that you had all of the tools to create and manifest whatever it is that you wanted to. You’ve been using your resources around you to create a stable foundation. You’ve been using your natural skills and abilities and for this, you are going to experience huge popularity. Maybe even fame. This fame could be related to messages that you give out or advice or counselling. Or the way that you empower people in someway. I am even seeing that you may be given the opportunity to sign a contract. Or this is you being in the position to give other people contracts in order to work for you. If you’re the one being given a contract, this is being given by someone who has a lot of leadership energy. A lot of masculine energy. They have a lot of abundance and it’s almost like they own their own kingdom figuratively and they see your potential. They see your skill. They see the magic in what you create or what you do and they wanna add you into their empire. This person could come across as quite intimidating in a way. There is a lot of Aries energy that this person has. This definitely could be a masculine. There’s also something about tapping into your intuition with this person because working for them will require you to give something of yourself. To sacrifice something of yourself and I don’t feel like this is a negative energy because this is about your blessings - however, just make sure that you know exactly what you’re getting into so that you can be prepared for whatever the work is that you’d need to do for this person.

The first blessing that I’m seeing for you guys is protection around your financial stability. Protection around your career, your job, your business, and maybe even your family since the 10 of Pentacles is out here. If you are worried about an elderly person - specifically an elderly woman - then she is also protected in terms of her health. Her health will be stable. This could also be protection around an inheritance from an elderly person or an elderly woman. So if you are worrying about an inheritance possibly being taken from you unfairly, then don’t worry. That inheritance or windfall of money will be yours and it will give you a lot of financial stability and blessings. Your finances are growing quite quickly. I’m seeing multiple streams of income, and together, they will create a very stable income for you. I’m also seeing a scenario for someone in which an elderly woman is trying to deceive or lie or take from your family for financial reasons and you are protected from this elderly woman. She has quite a cold and callous energy. She may even come across as evil within her mindset and the things that she is willing to do, but you don’t need to worry because you and your family and your families’ assets and money are protected from her.

The next blessing is an amplification in true, genuine love between you and another person. For most of you, I am seeing a romantic relationship but this could definitely be a best friend or someone who is just very close to you. It could even be a family member, but the communication of love between you and this other person is definitely going to increase. And again, I’m seeing your connection with this person being very protected. The protection around this connection with this person is actually getting stronger. You are vibrating alongside this person at a very high frequency. You are both individuals who have high frequency within your energetic field. Both of you can tap into pure, genuine love for yourselves as well as each other, so lower frequencies and lower vibrations really can’t affect you and your connection with this person. If this amplification of love isn’t with another person, then I’m also seeing that this is just an amplification of love towards yourself regarding the way that you talk to yourself. As well as how you talk about yourself to other people, and even the way that you think about yourself. There is more alignment within yourself over these next three months because of the fact that you have increased your self love. You are treating yourself and feeling about yourself the same way that you would a partner who you love, so just take which message resonates - whether this love is about you and the connection to yourself or you and another person.

Another one of your blessings is a secret, and I feel like this isn’t necessarily a secret to you, but it is a secret that you will be holding. In terms of you working and collaborating on a project with other people. If this is a secret to you, then I’m seeing that there are people collaborating behind-the-scenes, and again, these people are collaborating as a way of protecting you. You might not even realise this consciously, but for some of you, there may be people who are working together to protect you from someone or something. The blessing is that you are going to be able to collaborate with people who are a very protective group of people. You could even be in some type of hidden or secret group and I feel like you’re going to learn a lot from this group of people. I’m seeing a lot of studying. A lot of taking notes. Whether this is literally or mentally. This group is going to be teaching you a lot of practical advice. They could be giving you valuable information on how to structure something for the sake of your financial or practical stability. This could have something to do with metaphysics and manifestation, but I’m definitely seeing that your blessing is learning from a feminine energy who has a lot of knowledge alongside other people. And all of you will be learning very valuable information on how to reprogram your mind or your life. I’m seeing a bunch of code - programming code - in my mind, so I feel like this is the energy of learning how to manipulate energy. How to see through what most people would call “the matrix” or the illusions and how to reprogram the matrix for the sake of your own benefit, stability, and comfortability. This is hidden knowledge that you guys are learning and this is a big blessing, so please value it and make sure to take notes and study what you need to in order to put this into practice.

So the first thing that I’m seeing is that any blockages that have prevented you from showing up as your authentic self and expressing your authentic identity is being removed. I’m seeing that you’ve had a history of being attacked by other people for your authentic nature. However, part of this blessing is realising that there is a lot of knowledge to be acquired about yourself through your authenticity. I’m also seeing that you could be connecting with a group of people. I’m hearing up to 2 people who are also authentic in their nature and somehow teach you how to step into your authenticity too. Or you may have given up on expressing your authenticity because it seemed to be the root cause of a lot of pain and conflict that you had to experience, however I feel like you are going to be intuitively seeing the value and the worth of your authentic nature. You could also be teaching other people about authenticity. You could be the one helping someone else who has been so beaten down for their true self, and this could be another way that you find value in your authentic energy - by helping others.

Another part of your blessing is also the wisdom that you are gaining. And I feel like this wisdom about yourself is something that you will have to defend, but you are prepared to do so. And I’m seeing two very loyal people again - these could even be spirit guides who are helping you to defend your knowledge about self and your knowledge about authenticity. This blessing contains a lot of self empowerment and standing up for yourself. Defending yourself and having support in the process. Your creativity is also a huge part of your blessings. You’ve been crafting something, and again I’m seeing two energies here in this card about creativity. These two energies are being depicted as the silhouette of two crows, so I feel like these are two spirit guides that are protecting your creations. Perhaps 2 people who have passed over? Your creations are somehow bringing balance and justice into your life, and I’m hearing that you are relaying messages from the divine and channelling what you’re intuitively picking up on within your creative process. Whatever it is that you create, it is something that is futuristic. It’s something that might not be entirely popular now but I am seeing that the energy that you have been putting into this creation is coming back to you in the form of monetary value, mainly. Whatever you’re creating, you are making from the heart. Your heart space is being channelled into this and it makes sense because your intuition is definitely connected to your heart. I am also seeing that another blessing could be your leadership when it comes to being the protector of other people. Perhaps up to 2 other people in particular. I feel like you are not just defending yourself. You are also defending other people who have been hurt in the past, as well as teaching them how to value themselves and their authentic selves.

Personal Protection: Surviving the Holidays

I'm of the opinion that far too many people around this time of year are fucking around, and it's high time they get to the finding out part. With major holidays right around the corner, many of us will be facing relatives we'd rather not see, parties we'd rather not go to, and conversations we'd rather avoid or exit as soon as possible. Political spats, unwanted opinions, snide remarks -- I believe that what you give out, you ought to receive back.

So, obviously, let's do some magic about it.

There are three main components to my method:

The Bubble;

The Quills; and

The Shake

The Bubble

Exactly what it sounds like, "the bubble" is the outermost layer of protection around you. It's the barrier between you and the unpleasantness you're trying to keep out.

The bubble can be one item carried or worn (such as a hat, crystal, or charm), or it can be multiple. I usually spring for two items, one to absorb/recycle and one to bounce/return to sender.

Absorb:

I've got a relative who is, at their essence, a fucking downer. That would be fine if not for the fact that if they're having a bad time or are mildly uncomfortable, it's about to be everyone's problem. This kind of negativity is something to absorb, not bounce. Sending it back would only double their misery, and that's no good for anyone.

So, instead, I have a special charm that I make for occasions when I know they're going to be around. It consists of a little piece of sponge that's sat in salt for a while atop a transformative sigil. The sponge, once fully charged and ready, will absorb the negative energy and recycle it into more positive feelings.

This means that their negativity won't impact me at all, and I actively improve the atmosphere. Their bad attitude can't do anything if everyone around us is only getting good vibes. The charm is powered by the exchange of negative to positive energy, so it requires no charging. However, it's smart to discard the sponge once it's done its job.

Bounce:

But sometimes, somebody's got to face real consequences. There are some things I don't want to deal with at all. Like gross political opinions from my conservative, religious family members. Or questions about having children.

The idea of the bounce is to reflect things before they reach me. It's a sort of glamor spell that projects an aura of "don't bother." It essentially lets me be passed over for conversations I want to leave or avoid entirely by bouncing attention away from me.

Negative energy, bad vibes, whatever you want to call it -- the goal is to return it to where it's coming from. Someone who's being an asshole will feel like an asshole. If it works right, they'll stop talking altogether because they're so irritated with what they're saying. I've had aggressive, vocal relatives go completely silent because they were receiving their own rancid energy back to themselves instead of the attention they were hoping for.

For me, this spell takes the form of a charm on my keys. It's a form of an evil eye charm -- not the blue-eyed stare you most likely think of, but another symbol meant to distract attention from me to it. It's a little pewter casting of the fig sign, an old and obscene gesture. It works on malevolent spirits best, but it does a great job of repelling unfortunate people, too. It bounces their nonsense back to themselves, often causing confusion, which forces them to reconsider what they're saying.

Again, this lives on my keys, which live in a key bowl when they're not clipped to my pocket or belt loop. The key bowl has a multi-purpose charging setup for the keys, my wallet, and other assorted charms I might wear when I go out.

The Quills

Sometimes, things get past our main line of defenses. That's fine, it happens. But under these circumstances, it happens because someone has deliberately crossed a line. So now, they get the quills.

When I say "the quills," you should be picturing something like a porcupine. Adorable, yes, but fuck with it at your own risk. Those quills aren't just for show, and neither should yours be. This is your second line of defense, and it's where we turn to offense.

Accordingly, the quills aren't passive spells like the bubble. These require conscious activation and direction to give you maximum control over their output. You can make your quills passive, but I often find that baneful workings work best when you're specifically choosing to use them.

Yes, baneful, and let me be perfectly clear: The goal is to harm whoever's crossed the line. You're not just returning to sender. You're catching what they've thrown at you, lighting it on fire, and pitching it back at full force.

To that end, there are two approaches I typically take (and are you sensing a pattern? I like to do things in twos). One spell to sharpen the tongue and give as good as I've gotten, and one to induce the smallest of lingering curses on the target.

Sharpen

The whole point of the quills is to make yourself an inconvenient, difficult target. Part of being difficult to swallow is not going down easily. Often, the answer is to avoid the conversation or problem altogether, but it isn't always possible. Or satisfying.

Sometimes, you gotta take a bitch down.

For me, this charm needs to do two things. It should boost my confidence in standing my ground and add some oomph to my argument. I have a pin with a particular design on it charmed for this purpose. The needle operates as the quill for stabbing (the oomph), and the design provides the confidence. Anointed with my Fuck Off Oil and laid in a dish of salt, garlic, and red chili flakes, the pin becomes extra spicy and effective.

This one has to be recharged each time it's used. It always lives on the same jacket, but I'll anoint it regularly to keep it fresh. If I use the charm on someone, I'll take the pin off at the end of the night and set it in the spicy salt mixture.

Linger

By far one of the most effective methods for reducing nonsense from unpleasant people I interact with regularly is lingering consequences. When someone associates bad luck with interacting with you, even on a subconscious level, they tend to avoid you.

Consider this the "slow poison" on the quills. The goal isn't to ruin their life by any means (although, I suppose you could...). It's just to make yourself unpalatable on an instinctive level. Think of how poisonous frogs are brightly colored to display that they're, you know, deadly. That's what we're doing here.

I prefer to use something kind of dangerous. Something you can hold onto and point with is best, in my experience. I've used a broken piece of glass, a rusty nail or screw, and various thorns. Right now, I'm using one half of a rusty pair of old cooking shears. The handle broke, but the blades are still sharp as hell. Waste not, and all that.

Anoint whatever the sharp, dangerous thing is in an oil infused with herbs and spices of your choice (again, the Fuck Off Oil is a good example). Or, if you prefer, coat it in something like hot sauce, urine, rust, or other corrosive and unpleasant things. Once prepared, stow it in your bag. Or your glove box, if you drive, since this makes a nice on-the-go curse to cast at shitty drivers.

You don't need to pull it out for it to work, but if you can get to a safe, secluded space (like a bathroom), it can help you focus. When you're creating it, you should set up an activation word, phrase, or motion. I prefer a motion -- something like tapping wherever the object is, a swirling movement with my hand, and then pointing at the target.

The curse you place is up to you. I tend to go for something like feeling nauseous or getting a headache. The spell should draw a connection between them being nasty to you and the unpleasant feeling, whether overt or subconscious. They'll be more cautious and reluctant to be a dick to you afterwards.

The Shake

Like a dog. Get that shit off of yourself.

No matter how thorough you are, there are always gaps and particularly stubborn people getting into them. Something they say just sticks to you like a burr, sharp and irritating. Or depressing, maybe.

The idea behind the shake is literal. You're forcibly removing the heavy weight or annoying itch someone else has placed on you. The shake isn't necessarily an item like with the bubble and quills. It can be, but it doesn't have to be.

Essentially, the steps to the shake are:

Identify what feels bad

Shake that shit

Resume normal activities

Maybe it's the neurodivergent in me, but physical movement is incredibly soothing. Self-regulation tactics are essential for survival. Transforming that into a little spell ritual at the same time is just two birds with one stone.

When things get overwhelming or I can feel my bubble failing to keep everything out at once (such as if a fight breaks out or someone decides to go in depth about one of my triggers), I remove myself from the situation. That's the first step. Retreat to a safe place, whether that's outside, in my car, in the bathroom, or elsewhere that's quiet. The second step is to figure out where in my body the anxiety or bad feeling is sitting. Often, it's in my shoulders and hands, but sometimes it's elsewhere.

Step three is to fucking shake. Shake those hands, roll my shoulders, jump up and down. Whatever it takes. As I do, I'm forcibly dislodging everything unpleasant out of myself and into the open air. And because I've got the negativity-absorbing bubble, it'll take the bad feeling and repurpose it into something more positive. Then, once I'm better, I can go back.

Again, you don't need an object for this, but you can certainly create one. Options would be comforting items, fidget toys, or even something like a joint. Sometimes, you just gotta blow smoke about it. You know?

Fun fact, though: You could also carry a vessel to contain the Bad Feelings for later use instead of letting your bubble absorb them. This comes in handy for people who are particularly abusive... as an example of what you want them to experience under the force of a more involved cursing.

What is Banishing? The How-Tos and Methods

Banishing is a direct form of expelling energy or spirit from your space. Used to get rid of a specific energy, spirit, or person. Can even be used to banish a bad habit if you really wanted to. It is a strong form of defensive magic versus cleansing which is more of a brush out the door. Banishing is you picking whatever up by the scruff like a wet cat and throwing it out the window.

You can incorporate cleansing and banishing methods together. Make it spicy, get the job done in one go.

Here are some banishing methods that are within my grimoire.

Spiritual

Smoke - Burning Dragons Blood, Frankincense, Hyssop, Rue, Cedar, Juniper, Blackberry Leaves and Pine are great herbs to burn for banishing and purification. You can also make a herbal spray as well.

Candles - Banish from your space using corresponding banishing candle colours like Black.

Herbs - Can be made into satchels, jars, sprays, spellwork and other items for banishing.

Sigils - Create a banishing sigil for your space, self or working.

Powders - Powders like GTFO powder are great examples for banishing's

Witches bells - Witches bells hang on your doorknob or on your door (inside the home) for protection and banishing. When someone comes into the home it rings, banishing negative energy.

Spells - Return to sender, uncrossings and freezer spells are good examples of banishings. Write the target's name on a black candle with intention, dress with corresponding oils, and write a petition to place under the candle to effectively banish them from your space/life.

Energy - Visualize a powerful bubble of protective light of any colour. Visualize it pushing out of your chest and visualize it burning up the energy and pushing it out of your space. Can be energy-taxing so please drink some water and eat a snack.

Black salt - Salt (I use sea) mixed with charcoal, eggshell powder and protective & purifying herbs. Used in warding, banishing and protection. Please be careful around pets with salt as they can get sick if eaten.

Physical

Baths/showers - Submerging yourself in water with banishing herbs and oils. You can also shower with banishing herbal soaps and hang a mesh satchel with purifying herbs over your shower head.

Physical - Literally taking pots and pans, screaming to get out of your house. Both annoying to the neighbors and effective for spirits.

Vocal - Prayer to deity/ancestors/guides/etc for assistance. Prayer from a holy book. Incantations are normally followed by another action like ringing bells.

Protection Magic & Baneful Protections⚡️

What are Baneful Protections?

Baneful protections can be considered both a form of baneful magic and a form of protection magic. When beginning baneful work, this is usually what I recommend starting with. Baneful protections are protection spells that produce some sort of consequence when energy hits it. This can be done without the use of physical taglocks (like names or dates of birth) because energy is able to act like a taglock. For example, some of the baneful protections I have set up will reflect any energy that hits it back to its source while others trap that energy instead (so it can be used later on).

It is very important that even though you are protecting yourself, you aren't accidentally tethering the energy to you. In my first baneful protection, I used my saliva to tether the protection to me but instead I tethered all the negative energy the spell had trapped to me and had a horrible case of bad luck for weeks before I realized what I had done. As a rule of thumb i personally don’t include any personal taglocks in baneful protections and always make sure to include a petition that details my exact intent for the spell.

When to use Baneful Protections:

Baneful protections can be used instead of or in conjunction with other forms of protection (see my blog posts for more information on alternative forms of protection magic). I personally didn't have any baneful protections before I was hexed (for the first time) and now I have some just as a precautionary measure. Baneful protections are most beneficial (in my opinion) if you are surrounded by a lot of negative energy or work in an environment that is mentally draining. These protections can help combat the toll that it takes and prevent much of that energy from staying with you for an extended period of time.

It is really up to you whether or not you choose to incorporate baneful protections into your practice. It is worth it to note that this spell work is considered baneful magic, so those who believe in "doing no harm" may choose to forgo this and stick to regular protections instead. Whatever you choose, be sure to do your own research before attempting any new forms of spell work.

Return-to-Sender Spells:

Mirrors- mirrors have the ability to reflect an image so they are also able to reflect energy. Putting up a mirror on your altar or incorporating a piece of a mirror into a spell is very effective at returning energy to its source.

Burning the bottom of a candle- this is a common one and it is also my preferred method at returning energy. The way I do it is by burning the top of the candle like normal and visualizing the energy that you wish to return. Once the candle is flat, I will flip it upside down and light the other end of the wick, symbolizing the return of that energy to its source. This can be done many different ways so check out what other practitioners do to come up with your own method.

Petitions- petitioning is a really great tool that I utilize in most of my spell work because it is an effective way at manifesting a specific intent. It helps if you know the name of the person who sent you the energy for this method but it is not necessary. As long as you have a clear intention and some return-to-sender oil you can make an effective spell.

Running water or rivers- running water has been viewed as being able to carry energy from place to place so it is possible to use it to return energy to its source. In the shower, you can imagine the energy running off of you, down the drain and back to the person who sent it. Another method is throwing your petition into a river and having the river carry it back to its source. (This method also works with a toilet if you are feeling especially feisty!)

It's important to note that the concept of spells, hexes, and curses can vary widely among practitioners. Some may follow positive and ethical paths, while others may engage in practices that involve more negative or harmful energies. Here's a general overview:

Spells:

Spells are rituals or actions performed with the intention of bringing about a specific result or change.

They can be categorized as positive (such as healing or protection spells) or negative (such as banishing or binding spells).

Spellwork often involves the use of herbs, crystals, candles, symbols, and spoken words to channel energy and focus intent.

Hexes:

A hex is typically considered a negative spell with the intent to cause harm or misfortune to the target.

Hexes are believed to work by manipulating energy to bring about negative consequences.

It's important to note that many practitioners follow the Wiccan Rede, which encourages the use of magic for positive purposes and advises against causing harm.

Curses:

Curses are similar to hexes but may be more severe or long-lasting.

They are often intended to bring about significant harm or suffering to the person targeted.

Some practitioners believe in the concept of the "Rule of Three," which suggests that any energy or intent sent out into the world, whether positive or negative, will return to the sender threefold.

I do follow the rule of three because everything comes back to you; as you sow so you shall reap. So be careful with any spell (or hexes or curses) because it may come back to you!

It's also important to approach the subject with respect and cultural sensitivity, as different traditions and individuals may have varying beliefs and practices. As with any belief system, there are diverse perspectives within the witchcraft community, and not all practitioners engage in hexes or curses.

what to do before you start a spell?

I will explain step-by-step how I prepare before any spell.

I clense my space.

I protect myself with a symbol or by praying to a god, which means that I am dedicating that spell to the specific god or asking for protection and guidance during the spell.

I prepare everything I need and clense it with smoke one by one.

The first thing I did was light up a white candle to keep track of the spell with the flame (I will do another post where I explain better how to read flames).

📝 WITCH TIP 📝

This is something to make when you’re bored/want to do something witchy, and also for whenever you are again in the future.

Make a list on a physical piece of paper (or print it out after). On that list—and feel free to make it LONG, and also know that you can add onto it again whenever—include everything witchy youve ever wanted to do, “chores” that are part of your craft, things you like to do that are even just vaguely related to witchcraft and your practice, types of magic youve never tried out or want to improve on, etc. Big, daunting things and small, minuscule, two-second things. Make a huge list.

Cut out every individual bullet point in that list. Fold them all up, put them in a jar (heres a good use for any of those old candle containers or spell jars), and whenever youre feeling bored or want to do something witchy, pull out one of those pieces of paper. Feel free to re-pull if you don’t like the one you got. Then, do it. You can throw the paper out when you’re done or put it back in the jar whenever you want.

You could also do the same thing online using one of those spin the wheel websites too. Since this is all left up to chance, you may also ask a deity or spirit or the universe or whatever beforehand to make sure you get the most relevant/helpful task.

Enchant your hairbrush for healthy and good looking hair

Enchant your glasses for clarity

Enchant your debit card for attracting money

Spin around, look up, and the first thing you see? Enchant it

The "Stuck Heart": A Protective Fiber Talisman/Charm For Your Home

Note To Reader: This working was inspired by Gemma Gary's Charm from her book "The Black Toad". And this inspiration was for a recent project that I did for a Magickal Fiber Class. Plus, working with fiber is a more humane and sanitary option than actually having decaying organs within your home. However, if that's your jam, then go for it!

The protection of our homes and loved ones is of utmost importance to all of us. We go to great lengths to secure our homes, install security systems, and even perform rituals to ward off any negative or malevolent energies. However, have you heard of the powerful charm of the stuck heart?

The stuck heart is another charm that has been used for centuries to protect homes and its inhabitants from the influence of malevolent spirits and ill-wishers. It is believed that the hearts of horses or other large animals, stuck with thorns and pins, possess a strong energy that can keep our homes safe from any harm.

Traditionally, the stuck heart is placed within the chimney or hung within the roof space of a home. This is done in secret, without the knowledge of the occupants, for the charm to retain its protective powers. It is believed that if the stuck heart is disturbed or removed, its effectiveness diminishes.

The symbolism behind the stuck heart charm is quite intriguing. The thorns and pins represent the obstacles and negative and malevolent energies that may come our way. By trapping them within the heart, we are effectively shielding our homes and loved ones from their harmful influence, while returning the sent energy back upon the sender.

Fiber "Stuck Heart" Charm

The possibilities for this charm are endless, limited only by your imagination, creativity, and practice. There isn't much in the way of instructions, but if you choose to hand stitch, I highly recommend using "Print-Stitch-Dissolve" paper for a smoother stitching process.

For my charm. I opted to use felt for its thickness and ease of handling. To secure the pins I stuffed the heart with poly-fill (but you can use whatever you have). Additionally, I incorporated the symbol of a spider's web designed in a clockwise direction to not only trap any harm but also enhance the power of the incantation. Don't hesitate to add your own symbols of strength and significance to make this charm truly yours.

Lastly, feel free to enchant this charm in any way you see fit, but I enchanted my charm over Frankincense and Myrrh smoke while saying this incantation I wrote:

this is either a group of people who your r2s is directed to, or multiple individuals. you might not have even targeted anyone in particular - just anyone who’s an enemy (open or hidden) - and i’m seeing that there are a lot of people getting their negative energy thrown back to them.

you guys have supporters of some sort. a small community of people who really love and support you and you appreciate them. this community has bonded together thanks to your practice and development with something.

you began something small but it’s been very well received and you have an extremely stable foundation for whatever this is that you’re developing. i definitely feel like this is either in your local community, or online. and the oppositions who are getting their karma have been evil-eyeing tf out of your success. even if you only see this success as small and brand new or “nothing that great”. others would disagree, pile 2.

they don’t like how loved you are and they don’t like the fact that you’re actually successful with something that requires skill. what you’re doing requires an investment of time, effort, and diligent practice (maybe even a god-given gift) - all of which these people feel like they can’t compete with.

their karma is that they’re going to expose how immature they are in reaction to positive news about whatever project you have going on. i see them embarrassing themselves in front of a community (whether it’s one of their communities or in front of your community of people).

their finances will also be fucked with, since i feel like they were probably evil-eyeing yours. they’re going to have a major restriction on their cash flow into their bank accounts. i’m feeling saturnian energy so you could’ve called upon saturn when doing your energy work or you could’ve done this work on a saturday (since saturn rules that day). there’s definitely going to be a fluctuation in their finances, and they’re going to feel immature and dissatisfied with where they’re at financially.

they’re not going to have the stability that they need to feel like they’re a grown, responsible adult. i’m seeing that they might want to move out of their parents house, or develop a career, or save money to buy a car. whatever it is, they’re going to be prevented. they’re literally going to feel like they’re still a young teenager when these people could be in their young adult/middle-age/elder years.

i’m seeing that some of these people - or one of these people in particular - is clearly very attention seeking. they’re going to be ignored by the group of people that they usually receive emotional fulfilment from. this group of people aren’t going to want to deal with them anymore because they’re so draining.

they’re going to feel under appreciated and undervalued. i’m seeing that these people might put in more work at their jobs than their coworkers, but they’re the ones who are singled out for “not doing enough” whenever they feel like taking things easy. they’re not allowed to “slack off” which is actually just them lowering their work effort to the same level as their coworker’s. their manager/boss expects the excessive work effort all the time and it’s going to take a toll on their emotional and mental health. they’re going to be aware that they’re selling themselves short but feel like they can’t do anything about it for some reason.

i’m even seeing that for some of you, some of these people have been copying you or your work. either way, nobody’s really paying attention to their plagiarism the way that people do to your originality, but this will be exposed and realised by many people. it’s going to be obvious or it’s going to be made obvious by someone in particular. a fire sign perhaps? the king of wands is the card that represents this person. this exposer is someone who puts in A LOT of hard work and passion into their own projects, so plagiarism is a huge pet peeve for this person. that’s why they’ll be the one to expose these copycats.

this person is going to be backstabbed heavily by someone who they believe truly loves them. they could be experiencing more conflict with their partner/whoever they’re dating more than usual, but they’re adamant on finding a solution to these problems.

their person on the other hand? not so much. this backstabbing might not even be that. it could just be their partner breaking up with them and they take it as a betrayal because of their abandonment issues.

for those of you who know that this person is single, any attempt at offering love will be rejected. and i’m seeing brutal rejection too. they could’ve brutally rejected you in some way, and now they’re going to be humbled. any chance of genuine romance and love offers of substance isn’t available to this person now. or anyone that they get into a relationship with will be a hidden enemy. they’ll fall for them though.

they might also be verbally attacked by multiple people. i’m hearing “verbal jumping” 😂. this could also be the way that they speak to themselves. they’re going to become their own worst enemy and verbally abuse themselves to the point of sabotaging major blessings that they’ve been trying to manifest. this could play out in work, friendship, or love for them.

i feel like this person is an insecure person to begin with, and they were evil-eyeing and psychically attacking your intellect, your abundance, your money, and your ability to attract people who are genuinely loving to you (romantic or platonic). that’s why they’re experiencing all of these things. this person could’ve been attacking your physical appearance in some way, but i’m seeing that upon the return of their jealousy of your physical appearance, the decline in their mental health will negatively affect their physical. this person might prioritise their physical appearance and i’m seeing that they’re not going to like the way that they look at all.

they’re also going to have to watch a major blessing or some major abundance pass them by because of being stuck somewhere. stuck in a job that doesn’t pay well? or stuck in a relationship that doesn’t make them happy? whatever it is, life is going to taunt them with something or someone who would’ve been way more of a blessing to them. but they’re going to miss out on this. i’m seeing because of their lack of action. they’re feeling stuck. i really feel like this missed blessing will be caused by them staying loyal to a relationship that they clearly aren’t being valued in.

i’m also hearing that the more that they get hit with their karma, the more you receive abundance and major bouts of growth with your manifestations. you guys may have used Jupiterian energy in this return to sender to gain abundance alongside protection from this.

for a lot of you, this person is going to have a decision to make in a 3rd party situation that they’re put into. that’s probably why they feel stuck in their situation. they’re still going to stick around and compete for the attention of their deceitful partner instead of getting tf out, and they’re going to have to deal with missing out on some major abundance because of this too.

“11. Favourite Spell”

Hello! I hope you’re having a great day yourself.

To answer the first question. I settled on favourite type finally after much mental debate.

My favourite spell overall is Return to Senders. Why? I enjoy cleansing myself as a form of self care and I like throwing back negative (sometimes positive) energy at the speed of light if it’s sent to cause harm towards myself or loved ones. I always return it harder than thrown towards me originally.

I consider this spell personal in how I do it as I add extras but I absolutely can post a basic Return to Sender done with a candle if requested.

“14. A kind of witch you really admire, but could never be yourself?”

I absolutely respect and admire more ceremonial type practices but I am not that structured as a person. I am all over the place and I wouldn’t be able to keep up with a strict schedule with my adhd. I also struggle heavy with fatigue so unfortunately it’s also just something that’s not sustainable for me to do constantly, especially long term.

I just have a deep level of respect for that amount of dedication. I’m mostly a chaos practitioner in nature so I have some level of structure but I’m definitely not a traditional ceremonial chaos magician in that regard so I’m more comfortable with the eclectic sphere.

Folklore, Superstition & Protection Magic🕯

What is Protection Magic & Why do People do it?

Jason Miller (in his book Protection & Reversal Magic) describes protection magic as "taking reasonable precautions" against magical attacks and although this is true, the belief that everyone is out to get me doesn't feel very helpful. I agree that protection magic as a preventative measure is super important but I can't say that I do it because I'm expecting people to hex me. When people do things like send the evil eye your way, most of the time it's subconscious (although people can be assh*les). I like to think of protective magic as a barrier preventing that from sticking or affecting me long term.

Protective magic is also great if you work with spirits or entities. This allows you to have more control on who you are letting into your space. An example would be having a ward that lets your ancestors in but keeps other restless spirits out.

Types of Protection Magic:

Warding- the best way I like to think of warding is like putting up an energetic shield. These "shields" can be semipermeable or non-permeable and allow us control over what energy & spirits can enter our space. You can ward other things besides a space, you can also ward yourself, your name, image & more.

Banishing- this is the act of forcefully removing either an entity/ energy from yourself or your space. The key word is here is forcefully, it is different from cleansing because of this. Where as cleansing might be equated to dusting or wiping down a countertop, a banishment is like deep-cleaning.

Witches bottles- a form of protection which historically involves bodily fluids. It was originally used to protect from witches but in modern days, it's used by witches to protect themselves and their space.

Poppets- poppets are not to be confused with voodoo dolls. They may have similarities but voodoo dolls (and the tradition they belong to) are closed. Poppets can be used in all kinds of magic, but I like to use them in protection spells. Putting a poppet (with a personal taglock) under your bed can protect you while you sleep.

Baneful protections- baneful protections usually involve some sort of consequence for negative energy they catch. Some have a return-to-sender embedded within them and can pack a real punch if hit. Of course, with any baneful work, the wording and not just the intent is really important here.

Historical Forms of Protection Magic:

**Every culture will have their own protective items, additionally superstitions vary depending on the region. Researching what items are protective in your culture is a great way to connect with your ancestors.**

Red string- we often hear about the red string of fate but red string also has protective properties. Red string as a protective talisman appears in Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and more. Red string is usually tied around the wrist as a bracelet (you could also incorporate knot magic and make it a whole spell).

Railroad spikes- not only are they made of iron, which is seen as being able to repel spirits, but their mundane use makes them strongly associated with protection. You often see them placed in the 4 corners of a house or property.

Coffin nails- appear in many different traditions, both closed and open. As a tool, they are open, just make sure if you are researching ritual uses that you aren't stumbling into something that's closed. Most coffin nails are made of iron and can be used in protective magic to break curses, repel evil and reverse spells.

Evil eye (also called the nazar)- appears in many ancient and modern cultures (like Greece, Egypt & more). It was used to ward off the evil eye and is believed to break or go missing when the evil eye is cast.

Bells- bells have many historic uses, in ancient Rome and Greece, bells were used as amulets. Either to incite fear on the battlefield or to protect animals and the home, there is a great deal of archaeological evidence to support their use (source: The sound of Magic? Bells in Roman Britain by Eckardt & Williams). Modern bells can be used as wards & in cleansing.

A Warning Return-to-Sender Empathy Hex

WARNING‼️

please be careful !! make sure to thoroughly discard any negative energy and better yet do a protection spell so it doesn't come back at ya. dont use my hex to target people who didn't do anything to you , don't wish physical harm and don't go overboard. if someone steps on your foot on purpose don't wish them to get covid 19. it won't work. i see there's a lot of people who have crappy moral compasses , so if your compass is *too* misfit with mine (read my pinned DNI post for reference) then you'll probably want to be careful doing this hex or just don't do it at all (since this works *against* nasty people , not for them). this includes people who unethically buy crystals and take/buy seashells from the beach to use in their practice knowingly (which are both disgusting and harmful to the environment) and/or dont care thats its bad. this is a hex meant to warn the target if they keep doing bad stuff theyll have a more serious hex or a curse. they might have nightmares , moderate inconveniences , loss of an appetite , loneliness etcetera. it sort of depends on what they did to you since you're reflecting their negative doings back on them. they'll feel what you/others felt and know that they were wrong. this spell is supposed to be a learning lesson for the target so they stop mistreating people.

ingredients:

amethyst - nightmares and fear for target , strength and protection for you

black onyx - reflect your negative energy back to them and their negative energy does not come to you

5 tacks - sharp pain for target , precision for you

something to put the tacks in (like a bulletin board)

something to write on , preferably a leaf

red ink , paint or blood - to make the warning come across as serious and clear to the target

black ink/paint

lavender to put their defenses to sleep (candle , herb , oil etc)

instructions:

put a projective layer over your lungs and air passages in case any negative energy tries to harms you.

focus on the energy in your room , sensing any areas where there seems to be harmful energy. breathe it in and store it in your lungs , making sure it doesn't absorb into you

center

each deep breath inhale all the positive energy around you and that you've left around. each exhale , exhale all of the harmful energy you absorbed into an energy bubble (visualize). then imagine and feel the bubble getting smaller as the ink/blood/paint , amethyst , black onyx and tacks absorb it.

ready

place all the ingredients around the leaf. (what you do with the lavender depends on the type of lavender it is. if it's oil rub it on the leaf. if it's a candle just burn it. if it's the actual herb then just place it near with intention.) write the name(s) on the leaf in the red ink/blood/red paint: "dear ____ , dear __ , for [what they did] ... "

action

whatever you will stab your tacks into , write a sigil that returns their ill-will back to them in the black ink. place the leaf over it.

stab the first tack into the leaf , then say , "You will know what you said and did was wrong"

stab the second tack , then say , "You will feel the pain I felt from now on"

stab the third tack , then say , "People will say and do things you don't like"

stab the forth tack , then say , "Have nightmares of my warning out of spite"

stab the fith tack. now say , "The people you dare hurt are protected."

now write , sincerely [your name] (optional)

make sure your intention is set so that the hex is not undone until you take the tacks out of the wall.

tips:

do a deep cleanse of yourself , your room , your wards and ingredients you used after hexing and make sure you have a proper cleansing ritual. do a protection spell afterwards. better to think about hexing someone before actually doing it , at least for a day.
