people might be wondering about the state of ch.12 and uhh it’s going. I got a late start on it because my internet was being wonky this past week. But now I’m working on it, so here’s the update

#NCi7 #i write way too much #like i have an outline #but then i add random shit #the chapter was packed BEFORE i started adding extra stuff #but like im too attached to the random things #to want to delete them #so we'll see #i'm going to guess that im a third of a way through the chapter #so in two more days the first draft will be done #and then maybe i'll take another two days to revise it #and rounding up #might come out in a week #sorry i know it's taking a while #but uhh #my last few chapters were really good so i hope that makes up for it #nervous laughter #also in case u were wondering #most of those 21 pages is NOT them cooking

finally getting to work on yves’ outfit sheet 🥳🥳 she has plenty of surgical scars the old ones are from her and the new ones are from kressa. idk if it’s so clear but the scars along her arm are supposed to look like the skin has sunken in bc that’s where the bones from the slayer form has bursted through but she had more like a half slayer form in her dead three era since she was supposed to get the full thing when she actually succeeded the absolute plot - never got there she got a lobotomy instead

anyway yves having so many scars is real to me and what’s so bad for her is in her amnesia era she doesn’t know where they’re from and that freaks her out so bad but then it’s also the realisation that some look like they’re self inflicted is what spooks her even more 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

Its fun and easy to characterize the gang as dumbasses (and I love it) but !!! theyre also so smart !!! like, dumbass smart. Smart enough to get into princeton but also dumb enough to get a b in your own language (looking at you miles). Smart enough to make your own multiverse watch from scratch but also dumb enough to say "take a crap on the establishment i salute you" to a toddler (not that Hobie was wrong for saying bc he's right) Smart enough to be practically flawless and not even need to study but also dumb enough...just dumb enough. Pavitr is so dumb (in a good way).

Spidermen are kind of like jesters. They put on this goofy idiot persona but their minds are always a few steps ahead. I know it doesn't matter much but I see people portray the spider gang as academically unintelligent and like...that's just not them! Spiderman has always been that nerdy character who could and would ramble about advanced science bullshit if prompted!

Lots of dumbass bonding content but not as much "oh these little shits are also child geniuses" bonding content.

The way that ZaneChan/Zana was handled in canon is so disappointing looking back on it. Zane and KC literally only have maybe 4 significant scenes together before their kiss in the haunted house which leaves the ship feeling so rushed. Sure there's some build up during Aphmau's Year which was nice but again, it was maybe only 1 or 2 scenes. I also very much get the impression that after they kissed and got together, Jess really didn't know what else to do with them aside from having them make out constantly (which is very ooc for Zane imo) or not communicate with one another which is so frustrating to watch. And I feel they would've benefited from more scenes together before their kiss as well as after. Set up the mutual crush they could both have with small outings and them just spending time together. And once tensions begin rising in the relationship, let them actually talk it out! When push comes to shove Zane hits a breaking point and talks stuff out! And since s4 he seems way more willing to set boundaries and establish communication even with those he cares about. So why didn't he do this with KC? We don't need KC accidentally kissing Garroth to make any of that happen! (God I could write a thesis on how absolutely idiotic that writing choice was). Like it's actually so frustrating because a good relationship is right there but no we need to have more Aarmau moments bc Aarmau is our Lord and Savior apparently 😮‍💨 (and I'm mostly indifferent to Aarmau but man the fact it's literally everywhere gets on my nerves sometimes). It's just disheartening because I think aside from DanChan and some other relationships here and there, ZaneChan had the opportunity to become one of the best relationships from Jess' series. Also we never got that subplot with Ghost really resolved in a meaningful way? It was definitely in character for KC to be jealous of her flirting with Zane but why didn't we ever have a moment where she confronts Ghost and tells her to buzz off? Also,, I think it's so so icky that they made Emmalyn so obsessed with Zane enough to the point she kissed him without his consent :/ I have yet to understand why the characters continue to let Ghost hang around them when Zane has been clearly very uncomfortable around her in multiple scenes. Sorry for the essay I can get carried away lol.

i fucking LOVE character sheets sm; it is a relic from when i first broke into writing online and used to tumblr rpg ( cringe ). i just feel like they really help you see and understand your characters and figure out what they look like, how they act, what their motivations are, etc.

but yes!!!! i spend a lot of time on them and i haven't had a lot of time...recently, so i haven't been able to work on the ones i have for The Nasty Nina Boys From ( Fine As ) Hell, but you can have this little section i started on appearance in the ravenstan one ( he has been on my mind a lot lately, i srsly love him so much, he's my baby )
