No, babe, cuz here's the thing, I've been thinking about Buck and Eddie trapped in a no win situation since the speculation about a disaster in the finale started and then i obviously fell down an ao3 hole and there only one thing that would make them leave the other behind and that's Christopher. But i was thinking something along the lines of "one of them is in mortal danger and trying to save them is gonna get them both killed and one of them has to go home for Chris" and I kept imagining Eddie having to leave Buck because the behind the scenes pics from Oliver and my fantasies of getting Eddie screaming "you're not doing this to me again" but the more i think about it the more i think the only thing that would make Eddie leave Buck behind is Christopher being in imminent danger. And i also keep coming back to Taylor and that damn emergency beacon. Why? Well, Eddie already lived through 2 natural disasters with no way of knowing if Chris is okay so what's to say that Eddie didn't give Chris an emergency beacon? So in my crazy theory dream right now we have Buck and Eddie trapped. Eddie is in better shape than Buck. Eddie can get out if he needs to but he can't get Buck out and he's refusing to leave him behind. They are fighting, Buck is telling Eddie to just get out because Christopher needs him. Eddie is saying Chris needs both of them. Their phones ring (because obviously Christopher's emergency beacon alerts both of them) and Eddie needs to leave Buck behind because he needs to get to Chris. Angst ensues.

Rolan Headcanons

How Old is Rolan? (SFW)

Inspired by a conversation between the amazing and wonderful @darkurgetrash and I the other day that made me want to compile my thoughts in one place.

I believe that Rolan is anywhere between 27-35 years old. Why?

-As someone who is (nearly) 36 years old and went through a traumatic upbringing, I have a lot of experience in this subject and I’m here to shed my weird expertise and light on this. (Also, as a side-note I believe that Rolan would have the most fire skincare routine if he was in a modern au situation)

-Let’s just start with the physical signs of aging. Like the dark circles under his eyes, people who are older get worsened dark circles under their eyes from stress, lack of sleep, etc. Now there are such a thing as hereditary dark circles in humans (I have them) but again, they worsen with age.

-His face shape is another very distinct sign of aging and a real difference to help you spot people in their 20s vs people in their 30s. While your face shape doesn’t necessarily change as you age, your features do become broader as your skin loses elasticity and that natural youthful glow.

-Rolan’s face looks to me like a more mature adult face in that respect and when you compare him to younger and older tieflings it seems to be consistent.

-I know the big topic of debate is the wrinkles, could he be prematurely aged by the stress he’s gone through? Absolutely, he does have some signs of premature aging around his eyes from a hard and stressful life (I also have these lines). I agree here.

-But take a look at Cal and Lia, they have also had hard lives but appear much younger than Rolan. However, they both seem to be adults, not youths, which makes me put them in their early to mid twenties. (In my mind: Cal is 23, Lia is 27, and Rolan is 32-33)

-Going into the less physical subject of debate that goes with this topic: The apprenticeship. I don’t think his apprenticeship necessarily means he’s young you can start an apprenticeship at any age and what we do know about Rolan’s background makes it all the more likely he got a late start in life. I sincerely think Rolan wouldn’t have wanted to leave Cal, Lia, and their mother before the Descent of Elturel and their mother’s subsequent death.

- I actually believe that her death was likely a catalyst for him wanting to 1. Get stronger to protect them and 2. Need to leave Elturel for it to actually make that happen.

-Furthermore, I think some of his prickly exterior and facade of bravado are a sign of age as well, not immaturity. Those both come from a place of shame, shame that he has likely felt over a long time which could be worsened by the perception that he hasn’t achieved more in life. (But I could just be yapping on this one lmao)

These are just my thoughts on this subject, let me know what you think as well. At the end of the day, we are all just making sh*t up, which is the true spirit of Dungeons and Dragons lmao (also falling deeply in love with a background NPC with no last name).

THE NEON LEON

(I) A rise to leadership

Pun intended bc Leo would love it

Has this been done yet? Of course, but i love ranting about my favorite characters and boy, rise tmnt has so much to rant about (well, the whole tmnt franchise has enough material to speak for HOURS buttt rise lives forever in my heart so yeah i'm biased). Might talk about mutant mayhem in the future idk.

Leonardo Hamato/Splinterson has always been the leader, the one that carries the weight of carrying the team and following splinter's steps as the next "head" of the family (as said by splinter in the 2012 tmnt). And yeah in much of the versions of the turtles, this is a very important aspect of his personality, it's his literal purpose; it's the catalyst for a lot of the narratives and storylines seen across the tmnt universe: His fights with Raph, his anxiety, his inferiority complex, his constant wish to be better, how he sometimes neglects (or simply goes against?)his brother's feelings in order to keep them and the team itself safe.

Being the leader is both the weight and medal that comes with being Leonardo, that sisyphean task that we will always see try to accomplish over and over again.

So if we want to explore why he is a great leader... shouldn't we take that weight off his shoulders?

And that my people, it's what rise does perfectly. The best way to prove that Leo is a great leader? To show us how he can handle the team from the shadows, let us see how well he knows his team's strengths and shortcomings.

But don't just make him want to be the leader, no no, show us why we should all trust him to.

First of all: Leo panicking at the face of danger, might be useful sometimes.

Honest to god: i think the rise writers and animators are amazing. They're so GOOD at showing us important pieces of the characters even without directly saying it.

First of all, he doesn't have a fight or flight response because he straight up waves his ōdachi directly at anything that attacks him and his brothers (bro has kill om sight sense, he literally sliced warren one time, remember?). He will always have the advantage, even when surprised. Also the way he lightens up the situation with his witty banter and one liners when stress is too much? Extra points for keeping team morale up👍

Or in a different case, leo's panic when the mad dogs get in trouble upon a stronger rival. Why is it great? Because even though he's losing his absolute shit, he's able to act and take the next conscious step; even when it's used for laughs: He calls for his father when his family is in danger. It may sometimes be a funny gag ; like in "Flushed but never forgotten" or soul fucking wrenching like when they're attacked by shredder and RAPH IS PROTECTING DONNIE AND LEO SCREAMS AND I- *ehem*. But he knows splinter it's capable of defending them, he trained them after all (this may be arguable when talking about season 1 splint but well, he still recognizes his father as a ninja and his master).

And thus, the next marvel of Leo:

B) He's completely aware of the team's abilities

He's a middle child, he has seen everything, and the most perfect example of it: Many unhappy returns.

BOY IF THAT'S NOT THE MOST AMAZING DEMONSTRATION OF LEO'S LEADERSHIP AND STRATEGY IDK WHAT ELSE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR

He trusts his siblings completely, sure he looks out for them and supports them when needed (while being sarcastic about it), but he knows they're amazing at the hero thing.

I wouldn't doubt it if Splinter; being with Leo most of the episode saw just how in control he was of the situation and went: "dude...why are you not the one leading the team? You're...actually so smart wtf????"

C)He knows how to dial down his brother's enthusiasm and calls out his father's faults (and sometimes hypocrisy)

Remember the paper thieves episode?

That's peak leader Leo

The whole team was full on trying to get killed for the lols, and what does he do? Pulls them to the side and explains why they should start with something more simple and gives a speech on why focusing on the "easier task" it's still a good hero job (look out for the small/weaker ones, right?)

Not only that, but he's the one that constantly calls out his dad's mess ups, remaining by his brother's side and defending them (THIS IS NOT A SPLINTER SLANDER, I'M SAD DAD SUPPORTER AND I WILL TALK ABOUT IT LATER) seen as one of the YouTube shorts or when splints nags then about keeping secrets from him: he stands for his team, "you are not supposed to do that/you do the same thing you yell at us for"

He both inspires and defends his team, and hey; a leader is not the one that orders, but the one that motivates and supports you.

D) He's their personal hype man

Cue back to point B, he is amazed by his siblings abilities, even if he dies hide it sometimes. Remember when mikey wanted to go on a solo mission? He's fully on board and never doubts mikey is in control of the situation (sure he does go to "save him" with the others later on but come on, you all heard the call and saw Raph panicking. He trusts him but he's still his little brother y'know?)

He knows Donnie is an absolutely genious and is completely aware of Raph's dedication to the hero gig and responsability.

April and Splints? He knows they're completely capable of holding their own and willingly helps them when the situation calls for it.

hm, so. hi! first of all, i am thinking *a lot* about the grad school universe, so thank you for creating something so amazing? second of all, sorry about the rambling i'm about to do.

so, i was stalking the tag of this universe and saw that tweet of the "crying, manipulative and whore" emoji, and you said it was giving you cady vibes. and then i realized that most of the situations we've got to see of cadina involve regina messing up in some kind of way and cady dealing with that. but! i'm really curious to know about a situation that is the opposite. cady is just in a bad mood and regina is left to deal with it. cady messes up in some kind of way and regina doesn't have it within her to know how to proceed.

i did saw cady liking to tease regina in a lot of ways in your fics, but it still makes me think! i get that regina is very insecure on a lot of things about herself and their relationship, like questioning how cady chooses her even after all these years, even if she drives her crazy. quoting the third chapter of your fic (i am obsessed, yeah, sorry), "Regina hates when they fight. She hates that it's always her fault. She hates that she never learns.", it makes me think. there is no way is always regina's fault! i choose to believe that she is just too insecure to realize a time when cady was the one that started a giantic fight for no big reason.

and also! in the fourth chapter, we've got to see cady being jelous of regina, and regina is pretty cool about it. is there a time when regina does not get cool about, but freaks out instead?

yes there are definitely a lot more scenes and aspects of their relationship to explore as the universe grows. it's mentioned they break up all the time but we haven't really seen that yet and what it looks like, so i definitely have plans to explore that. as far as cady messing up, of course it's not always regina's fault! that would be unrealistic. but yeah for sure, regina is super insecure and after she cools down from a fight, i think she definitely realizes that she is a catalyst for certain situations and fights, and she almost always escalates dramatically. i mean. that's just who she is. so even if it's just something small they're bickering about, sometimes she's liable to push too far or hard and then cady will get actually mad, so regina has to find it in herself to try to apologize/deescalate which isnt always easy for her, thus making her feel once again like it's her fault.

i think there are definitely situations though where cady is in a bad mood or something and regina has to deal with that. that also is a bad cycle because regina doesn't always know what to do or how to act, and i think it's easy to argue she likely wouldn't have the best track record of making good choices when it comes to dealing with cady's ~emotions~. Regina's go-to is anger or deflection... I think if Cady was upset Regina's suggestions wouldn't always be what Cady was looking for in that moment. And then that pisses cady off, trapping them in a cycle of fighting or bad moods. this relationship is the epitome of healthy relationship goals obviously.

as for the tweet about about being a crier manipulator and whore with the 🥺 emoji LOL, i was definitely not thinking about this in the context of them fighting hahaha. i was thinking of cady like totally preying on regina being whipped for her and down bad for her cute face and so she can get her way sooooo easily. regina doesn't always start a situation by being all about pleasing cady but you know she ends it that way because she can't stand when cady is mad at her for more than 20 minutes, and even when they're being playful and not fighting, i think regina is almost always first to cave! regina has spent her whole life getting what she wants... i think there is something so desperate in her to have this script flipped and cady for sure knows it. hence why she thinks cady was sent to torture her personally. i understand this is just a personal read of her character and their relationship so if people disagree that's totally cool lol.

as far as jealousy goes, regina definitely has had times where she hasn't reacted as cool with cady being hit on etc. but it's very situational. i think regina experiences a constant battle between feeling superior and inferior. for instance, she's not gonna look twice at some freshman hitting on cady. regina is so far above that kid she knows it's irrelevant and even acknowledging him is insulting to her. but at the same time she definitely feels insecure that cady might emotionally connect with someone regina thinks is more......... for lack of a better word, stable? than she is. regina is aware that she is extremely reactionary so sometimes she just says whatever and does whatever and gets mad or upset but she doesn't mean it, or she just needs to walk away and come back, and she probably sometimes feels insecure cady will want someone less volatile. cady doesn't obviously. cady understands this about regina and even if it pisses her off and drives her crazy sometimes, it's not a deal breaker.

welp hopefully that was some fun meta for you because this got long! this ship is fun to play around in the sandbox because they are both a little too obsessed with each other and that makes them act pretty extremely sometimes. but they're still the biggest softies for each other. okay cool thanks for the ask i should go now before i write 10k more analysis.

Sorry I know that term mostly used for 80's & 90's BL pairing in BL manga or from shoujo (like CLAMP) that have tragic ending, but I see people used it for non-canon pairings in shounen, too....

And GoGe means Gojo as top (seme) and GeGo means Getou as the top (seme). Same with BkDk means Bakugou as top (seme) and vice versa.

For me, I don't mind if they're switching but I prefer top Gojo (GoGe) and top Midoriya (DkBk)....

I think BakuDeku canonically makes each other better. They complement one another in how they think they're meant to be heroes and their competitiveness acts as a catalyst for their individual improvement. Over time, they've become way more cohesive but, at the onset it looked pretty dicey.

SatoSugu.. I think that may have been a one-sided improvement. Geto encouraged Gojo to be more humble and consider his responsibility toward the weak and, while I wonder if we'll get another side to the story as we did with Gojo, right now I would say that things were going well until they weren't. We could argue Gojo perhaps gave Geto more confidence but circumstances kinda dashed that, didn't they?

Corrupted Player with unsettling Ben Drowned situation singing the Song of Healing in reverse my beloved-

I have a vague outline shambling around in the vague approximation of a story if that helps? It came to me in a bout of insomniac frenzy, basically it involves Player getting Isekaied yet again to Lora's Hyrule, meeting Candance and then Lora, an impromptu duet with dance involved (going back and forth between Farewell Wanderlust, The Calling and The Horror and The Wild by The Amazing Devil, one because the songs are amazing, two because I feel Lora's voice and the male singer's fit, and three because I think Player deserves a chance to go absolutely off about their frustrations in musical form if it's very far in during Player's Aid as a treat) because Lora realizes they don't know how to fight there and the quickest way is to basically throw fuel in the dramatic theater kid fire and impromptu duet-fight with them, plus he'll probably have a blast having a singing and dance partner for once so it's a win-win, shenanigans ensue as impromptu Disney Prince mode activates, and then either Candance comes back in with Operetta and start teasing him like "Hylia darn it Lora again?" While it finally hits him what he just did, poor boy is probably very flustered and apologetic the whole time (though it's funny if Player is just like "New favorite Hyrule, can we do it again?", Because that was a main character moment and they could do with some Theather person shenanigans and hijinks, plus they actually fight well here! Rhythm games served them well!) While Operetta/Zelda and Candance start to figuring out their situation, or, for comedic shenanigans, The Chain eventually gets Isekaied there (because let's be honest the mission the Chain is on is basically a mix of Isekai and Time Travel Shenanigans with many extra steps to places they know Dink basically just threw them into the most convoluted road trip ever), accompany Candance and Lora's Zelda back, and basically walks in on the duet and more shenanigans ensue honestly I haven't gotten that far yet insomnia did most of the job, I can either tag you or send it here once it's done, choice is yours *shrugs*. Also, he can likely hear the background music, and if Player can as well shenanigans ensue, I will not elaborate today because Tumblr has this little thing called character limit and I don't want to bother you much with my insane rambles xD.

Some things on Seraph/Fia because why not? It's basically the condensed version:

I absolutely agree that they erased his character, but they also did so to the other champions and Una because he probably tried to aid his Ganon so he wouldn’t be corrupted along with Una, but failed and that brought forth the Calamity and it’s Malice as an unwitting catalyst to it, because you can’t tell me that this man wouldn’t have seen his shield brother slowly being driven insane and would not try and do something about it. My main theory is that him and Una tried to separate Ganon from Demise’s curse, maybe like how Dusk gave up part of her powers to help Midna way back when, but it instead trigged the curse like some sort of freaky kill switch, and when he died it wouldn’t give up during his initial defeat, so instead it corrupted and reanimated his body into what we see now in TOTK, which led to Seraph/Fia and the Zonai likely sacrificing themselves to hold it back after they finally got it and the body pinned down and cornered and Una coming in to finish the job for now (Could be how the Luminous Stones came to be, lots of people think it’s what remains of the Zonai’s souls or magic), there’s evidence Malice has existed for as long as Sky’s Era in Zelda (likely a remnant of Demise’s power from his initial rise to the surface, it’s likely that dark water in the Ancient Cisterns basement that does damage to you like how Malice does, you can also find cursed enemies there and which other era has the highest amount of Malice in the air and a lot of cursed, reanimated enemies? Wild’s.), And it clearly corrupts, reanimates enemies, learns and evolves, it’s very likely that the Blights we fight in BOTW is just the Malice corrupting Sheikah tech due to how animalistic they, Guardians and it’s fellows Calamity Ganon (Boss) and the Divine Beasts act in game (heck the only reason the Beasts likely weren’t as aggressive as they could have been was because the Champions were doing what Flora was and holding it back). But it wouldn’t have had reason to react like that unless something was really wrong with it’s vessel like say, Ganon acting off the usual script, since most of the time Ganon just seems to get more and more mindless as time goes on from Demise’s curse (as we see in Legend’s and Hyrule’s branch and the beast forms in Time and Twilight’s), it wouldn’t have had reason to give up on reincarnation unless something was seriously off. It was Demise’s kill switch, a way of ensuring Hyrule, Hylia’s Reincarnation and the Spirit of the Hero would suffer in case his physical reincarnation couldn’t or wouldn’t do it.

I kind of feel like that would make him and Una feel honestly guilty and responsible for it, guilt for failing to help a friend, responsible for the Calamity and honestly seeing what Wild and Calamity went through later (because honestly Calamity’s timeline can only really exist because Wild didn’t succeed at first) would probably feel like a Lynel’s kick in the gut. To probably match the sucker punch Wild and Calamity would give him because “WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT WASN’T EVEN THE ACTUAL ORIGINAL GOODS?!”

... Now I kind of want to see them react to this possible theory, just out of morbid curiosity. I feel like the possibility would hit both of them like a truck.

Also probably would have custody battles with Twilight over Wild and Calamity, I will probably elaborate it on another ask plus the possible mythology connections. And the fact Wild's arm got corrupted in the TOTK trailer gave me the awful possibility that Seraph/Fia's situation is a Pure Vessel one.

First of all I really love the format of your reading. I think I've said this before but I'll say it again. I love how your reading is divided into ten different questions each looking at different aspects of the topic. They give me a well-rounded view of my situation. Changing the world is really one of my dreams, whether it's little by little or in whatever way. I know that it's one of my life purposes so this part really resonates. She could be a little stern but still caring when she actually gets to teaching. That's very different from my usual casual attitude. So I can see the discipline teacher part xD

You're right. I've always worked well when I'm alone and able to see to things with my own standards, methods and goals. I actually am a tuition teacher. Actually I think tuition is way more relaxed than in a school setting because schools have very rigid activities and teaching flow that you have to follow through.

With that being said it would absolutely be better if I could be a private tutor complete with my own freedom but not every parent wants that they usually want the system in tuition centres lol.

3. Should you change your job?

It's true that taking that step out is not what I usually do because I have different things to consider. Yes discernment is key. I'm very, very, very afraid I'm gonna make a wrong move and everything just comes crashing down.

4. What should you go for?

I usually am the one people go for advice. I don't know how well I could do as a counsellor though, probably with a lot of trial and error as like most things I do. Healing work is a large part of my practice so to do it as a job would be amazing. I like that this appeared in the reading because it has been crossing my mind lately.

5. What do you want to achieve from these? What is your main goal?

Emotional satisfaction is very true. Even now with the games and the healing work, they provide me rewards in terms of emotional satisfaction. They give me a sense of purpose, direction, skill improvement and accomplishment. I believe that the darker themes I have to go through I have to learn from them so as to provide others insight as to how another person went through that. All things require a sacrifice, a give and take. If energy is this sacrifice then it is a worthy one.

You are right that there are noises in my head from different things. You are also right that the one screaming the loudest right now is this conflict of whether to change my job. You said I can make use of this noise, that it serves a purpose. This is my second favourite part of the reading because it gives me a feeling of an adventure. Hahaha the attending certain courses part had me chuckling because my boss has been talking about it. So my best friend of 6 years now, let’s call her Carla, recently had a convo with her long time crush (who she works with) about their mutual feelings for each other, which is amazing on the surface, but this other girl is currently in a relationship (with someone they work with as well). Since she approached Carla about these feelings first, she basically said she couldn’t live the emotional cheating lie anymore, so she was gonna end her current relationship to be with Carla. They talk for hours, it ends with a kiss, the whole fairytale she-bang. The problem is, this was a week ago— and every single day since, she’s been arriving to and leaving from work with the same s/o, still in the relationship. Carla says they appear hostile towards each other like they’ve been fighting, but the only information Carla has gotten from the girl is “I tried to end it but they wouldn’t let me!!!” without any insight as to why they seemingly need to have the same conversation several times. Earlier today, she sent Carla a message apologizing for hurting her in the process of “figuring things out” which was confusing, because she initially she had said she was only confessing her feelings for Carla because she was fed up with living a lie and that she was going to end it. She also mentioned that a relationship and working things out between them would only get more messy because she’s considering moving out of state soon.

When I heard all this, I told Carla that it seemed like she only confessed her feelings because she knew she wouldn’t have to actually deal with them at all (hence the moving portion of the text and the fact that she still hasn’t ended her relationship), and that the whole thing sounded like a breakup text before anything even began between them. I also told her that getting into a relationship that started with cheating and would become long distance soon after would be horrific, but despite how hurt she is she is still adamant about trying to make it work and that she would even move with her. Personally, I think this girl is extremely manipulative and has been from the get-go — but I don’t want to be too harsh on Carla out of risk for pushing her away. I know how this sort of thing usually goes: best friend has problems with girlfriend, so best friend slowly but surely cuts said best friend off to remain in the relationship no matter how toxic it is. I don’t think this girl is serious about her at all and that she is extremely selfish, and I’m really concerned at how blinded Carla is because she hasn’t been in a relationship for a long time. What can I say/do to help her understand that this whole situation is a disaster waiting to happen without pushing her away?

Story under the cut:

Eventually, Alex's group comes across a task that they need a magic-user for. Since Hyden is still useless on that front thanks to his injury, and for some mysterious and unfair reason nobody is super keen on helping the ancient evil wizard get his powers back, even though he PROMISED he would not immediately betray them if they did, they must seek out another mage to help them with this task. Mages are extremely hard to come by these days, but luckily, it is rumored that a witch lives in a village several days' south of here...

On arrival, they find that the witch has passed on, but her bookish hermit of a son, Theo, has taken up her mantle. Theo is reluctant to help at first because he would rather sit quietly in his big empty house by himself and reorganize his bookshelves, but when Hyden introduces himself (using his full name and former title, against everyone's advice) he quickly change his tune. It's not every day that you meet the time-displaced historical figure you wrote an essay stanning in middle school! And he'll be advising him and helping him with his magic, too? What a rare opportunity for a nerd like him!

Hyden is pleased to FINALLY have somebody who understands that he is smart and amazing and definitely not evil. Unfortunately, his hopes about whispering in Theo's ear and plying him for certain... magical favors... are largely hamstrung by Alex, who (correctly) suspects that Hyden is scheming something and stands guard over all their meetings.

Even so, Hyden and Theo get along pretty well, bonding over their shared interest in magic, history, slightly excessive amounts of fine wine, nerdy tabletop war games, and (importantly) Hyden's own life and accomplishments. They finish their work, and the day when Alex's group is set to go home (and Hyden with them) rapidly approaches.

Hyden begins to grow uneasy. Who knows when he will come across another magic user again? Especially one so sympathetic to his plight. During one of the rare moments when Alex is out of earshot, he gets Theo alone and makes an offer. Hey buddy. We're friends, right? We understand each other. And you've seen how they mistreat me, how Alex doesn't trust me. They treat me like a prisoner! But you'll help me, right? I just need to get my powers back. I need some... magic catalyst stones. Like a bunch of them. Please? If you get that for me, I can... I can take you under my wing and teach you my secrets. I'll make you my magic apprentice. How's that sound?

Theo is unsure... yes, he does want to help, and that does sound like an amazing opportunity, but on the other hand... he doesn't want to leave his house. Sensing he is losing control of the situation, Hyden sweetens the deal. Help me and I'll bring your dead mom back to life.

Every Tuesday and Thursday at exactly 3:50 PM, Y/N placed an online order that consisted of an iced chai tea latte with oat milk and a butter croissant from Harry’s coffee shop, Queen Anne’s Coffee.

Y/N never forgot to add, “warmed up pls! thank you :)” in the section for comments, and she always tipped. She would then come into Harry’s shop approximately ten minutes later, walk up to the ‘pickup’ counter, grab her items, smile at Harry, and promptly leave. Harry never even so much as said hello to her, but he was irrevocably captivated––even if she was a complete stranger.

Harry decided that when Y/N came in today for her usual, he’d finally talk to her.

Business had been unusually slow for a Thursday afternoon but Harry didn’t mind–when Y/N came in, he’d be able to have a proper chat with her without having to rush the conversation along to help other customers. His gaze kept floating up to the cat-shaped clock hanging above the door, anxiously awaiting 3:50 PM when Y/N’s order would come through on the iPad and he got to read the words, “warmed up pls! thank you :)”

Harry didn’t know why he was so nervous to speak to her. As the owner of his very own coffee shop (and it’s only employee), he got to know the people who came in regularly well, even developing genuine friendships with some. It bothered Harry that this beautiful person gave him business two days a week and the only thing he knew about her was her name, which is only because he can see it when she places her order online.

When the iPad Harry keeps plugged up atop the counter chimes, he doesn’t even have to glance at it to know it was Y/N but he does anyway, feelings of excitement bubbling in the pit of his stomach. He was finally going to talk to her! Harry contemplates scribbling his number on the side of her cup as he’s writing her name but decides against it, not wanting to be too forward before they even formally meet.

When Y/N comes in ten minutes later, Harry can immediately sense something is wrong. She hardly looks up once as she shuffles from the door to the counter, hoodie pulled up and drawn tight over her head.

“Are you okay?”

Y/N doesn’t look up or even acknowledge the fact that Harry spoke. Even though there’s only two other people in the shop besides them, Harry figures she might think he was talking to someone else and addresses her by name.

Why did Kim ask Chay those questions?

I think it might have been another ‘test’. He’s a guy that doesn’t trust easily. Jeff said in the character story that Kim has a big ego, so I think Kim is convinced that whatever he thinks is right [i.e everyone lies, deception is everywhere] so he baits his little questions ready to have his suspicions confirmed when Chay lies.

He’s basically just seen a shrine to himself in Chay’s room. He wanted to check whether it’s true or not, what Chay is really hiding. He has to investigate that due to his nature, he’s unable to accept things at face value. So he set the questions out there to see whether Chay would lie. He’s still Kimlock Holmes-ing his way through the encounter, it’s just the goal changed slightly — the info he was confirming wasn’t about Porsche anymore.

I don’t think he was ready for an honest answer. I don’t think it probably ever occurred to him that Chay could’ve said “you’re the one I love!”. Mainly because he expects people to be lying/deceptive. If anything he’s probably a little shocked by Chay’s honest confirmation.

For the love song I said maybe Kim wanted to test what it was like to feel open and honest love for once, like a fact finding mission but I’ve changed my mind slightly after reading @ellaspore post saying he intended to cut him off. How will their story progress?

Alternatively, in terms of integrating worlds the only bridge I can see is Porsche, who in essence is also part of both worlds [Chay’s bright one vs the mafia], so maybe he plays a part. Maybe Porsche will be a catalyst: if something happens like Porsche is seriously injured (and Kinn won’t let him out of his sight so he’s stuck at the house) and so Chay needs to visit him at the Main House instead — that’s Chay’s first step into the dark world and Kim capitalises on that opportunity?

Either way it’s not going to be easy and I think we’re in for some angst, especially once some truths are revealed. It could end up in a ‘if the bone’s not setting right you have to break it’ situation — they begin a relationship but it’s foundation was built upon Kim’s initial ulterior motives. Kim’s not actually a bad guy so he might try letting Chay go either to start fresh/honestly [break the bone] or just completely end it to preserve Chay’s happiness/light [if you love them let them go]. However those ‘let them go’ storylines never work out, so it may just be a way of delaying the storyline until Chay is no longer a minor/so young or something.

So many ideas but not enough info for me to solidly commit to one so you can have them all 😂 sorry it’s so long.
