Kaz Brekker stood in his small, cramped attic room, and stared out the window. Fat drops of rain pelted the glass and Kaz lips twitched as he watched a few last minute shoppers rush home through the downpour they were facing. His ungloved hands were clasped in front of him, but they dropped to dangle at his sides instead when he heard the door creak. “Hello Inej.” He said, his voice hardly louder than a whisper. She had wanted him to be aware of his arrival, for while the door had creaked, no other sound was made until she stood at his side, her slender fingers sliding into his. Kaz squeezed them, marveling at her soft hands, and the fact that he could do this. Hold the hand of the woman he loved without freezing up, or shaking, or having violent flashbacks. She had broken his fear/hate/dislike/trauma of touch slowly, recruiting Jesper for help, since the two of them had known him the longest and were closest to him, so their touch was known. It still made Kazs heart twist a little, in fondness and affection, when he thought of how ready the two had been to help him overcome this. The thought that they still cared for him, despite all he had done, despite who he was, and how he had treated them. Albeit there own selfish reasons for wanting to break his hatred of touch. They had gone slow, and Kaz was grateful, though he knew they were both eager. Despite her years at the menagerie, Inej’s love language was touch, and Jesper had grown up in a very affectionate household. But they had always been good about it.
Inej had never touched him except maybe to brush against his side in passing, or a light hand on the shoulder. And Jesper had refrained from hugging him, or slapping him on the back, or ruffling his hair the way he was prone to doing with other Crows. Instead Jesper had always kept his hands to himself, knocking their shoulders together in silent comradery, offering a fist bump in place of a hug. It had never been intended to break his dislike of touch, but now it had turned into it. Inej would slide up behind him and press herself against his back for a second, longer each time, before pulling away again, never staying long enough to suffocate him. She would trace patterns across his chest and shoulders and brows, fingertips trailing lightly across his skin. She would brush their fingers together, maybe hook one or two, but never for too long. Never too much. Jesper increased his shoulder bumping activities, and sometimes would even venture to drape his arm around Kaz’s shoulders for a quick second before pulling away again. When Kaz would sit down, Jesper would sit next to him and grab his legs so they slung over his lap, playing drums on his good knee. As time had worn on, Kaz had found himself enjoying the simple touches, and on occasion he would even miss them, or seek them out. The two Crows had never pushed, and somehow also knew how much Kaz was able to handle without he even knowing himself. Apparently today was a good day, because Inej slid her whole hand inside of his, entwining their fingers together. Kaz let his thumb circle lightly on her knuckles, and she rested her head on his shoulder. “Hello Kaz.” she whispered. “Hello Jesper!” Came the call from the door as it was kicked open and Jesper strolled in. He grinned at them both, joining them at the window and draping an around around Kaz’s shoulders. Kaz rolled his eyes. His room had always been a safe haven, a place he could get away from everyone, but somehow that everyone no longer applied to the Six of Crows. Not that Kaz could say the definition of his room had changed. “Its a beauty aint it?” Jesper asked with a pleased sigh, leaning his head against Kaz’s. “What is?” Kaz asked in mild annoyance, leaning his head away only to knock it back harder. Jesper snorted, rubbing his head before placing it right back where it had started. Kaz grumbled. “Our city.” He pointed at the window. “Ain't she gorgeous?” he breathed in reverent awe. “You got the best view of her Kaz. Thats for sure.” Inej hummed her agreement but Kaz frowned, trying to see the city the way they did. As a place of beauty. And maybe it was the fact that he was holding Inejs hand without his gloves. Or maybe it was the fact that despite his attempted annoyance at Jesper, he was really enjoying the way his arm wrapped around his shoulders. Or maybe it was his throbbing head from knocking too hard into Jespers, but whatever the reason, it was as though Kaz truly was seeing the city through new eyes. “Yes.” he breathed, blinking a few times in surprise. “She really is.”

Weapon.
One to disarm. One to fear.
Ballister stood still, looking at the boy in front of him. Ambrosius Goldenloin, the Golden Boy of the academy. The blonde, younger than him, was quickly showing him just why everyone adored him so much.
He'd thought of Ambrosius as a complete idiot, a total jerk, a spoiled brat. It was, well, shocking, to see him act like anything but. They fought, and Ballister won, and Ambrosius looked like a caged, confused animal. It was a stupid brawl, merely a misunderstanding, and Ballister had never actually won against a classmate. Sure, he was the most energetic and motivated student in the whole class, but the pure force of will he had wasn't enough to match whole childhoods of training.
And Ambrosius bowed.
It was slow, and kinda painful. Ambrosius Goldenloin bowed, bending over with a careful reverence. His long hair was loose now — Ballister had lost his own hair tie, too, and they both had a million of leaves and tiny branches in their hair and faces and clothes. The fight had started because Ambrosius said something stupid, but Ballister didn't even remember what he said. He was too stunned, too captivated by the respect he was being shown for the first time ever.
He'd always been a reckless boy. It felt right, and he wanted to, so he launched himself forward and hugged Ambrosius, because where he came from love was the only way to show trust, physical affection was the biggest form of friendship.
"Let's make up" he said, smiling with ease — he'd seen Ambrosius as some sort of god-send child-angel, but he felt so alive and real trapped in his arms, he breathed erratically and he had a heartbeat.
A voice in the back of his head told him this wasn't okay. He shouldn't, he couldn't, he didn't deserve to be so familiar with this boy. But hadn't he hugged all his roommates back at the orphanage? Hadn't he shared a warm embrace with every kid that offered him help?
When there's no money around, trust is the best currency one can give. He shouldn't, je couldn't, he didn't deserve to treat Ambrosius Goldenloin like he would any other kid, but he wanted to, he really wanted to. He wanted to become a knight, and it was working out. He wanted to have a friend, and there didn't seem to be any other way to get one than launching himself head first into unknown waters and hoping for the best.
"...sure" said Ambrosius, after a few seconds. And Ballister was almost starting to regret this, when the other boy's arm surrounded him, too, and he could feel the warmth emanating out his skin. The gross smell of the sweat. The trash and dirt all over him. The quickened pulse.
Ambrosius, suddenly, started giggling. He pushed Ballister away with a soft movement that he could never imagine would ever come from the cocky kid in the tv ads. But this wasn't Ambrosius, the child prodigy. This was Ambrosius, his classmate and newly acquired friend, who was blushing all of the sudden.
"Sure, let's be friends. I'm sorry, by the way. I didn't mean to be rude to you"
Ballister started cackling at the other boy's face, sorrow and regret painted over it, hunched over by the lack of breath. He didn't even remember. He didn't remember shit. The situation was so absurd — one second, he threw himself against an idiotic blonde for saying a stupid comment, the other, he practically tackled Ambrosius Fucking Goldenloin into a hug, all because he wanted to.
Ambrosius wasn't that much of a jerk, he came to find out later, together, in the blond's bedroom, patching each other up to avoid getting scolded by the nurse. He was rather kind. Rather human.
And a little bit pretty.
.
The clashing of swords and armors, bodies and fists, metal and iron, flesh and blood invaded the place.
Ballister cornered Ambrosius, smiling. This was fun. Their first time actually wearing their knight attire at practice, where they usually used bodysuits or something else. Armor was way heavier, and infinitely harder to maneuver in. However, Ambrosius's training seemed to languish when confronted with Ballister's line of work.
Ambrosius had been trained, sure. He was born to be a knight, raised to be a captain, and prepared to be the best; and he would've been, had it not been for Ballister.
Ballister, who went around, more often than not, helping the maids of the Institute to carry heavy loads of whatever they were transporting, who climbed trees for fun and grew up running errands.
Their bodies clashed, again. Metal against metal and sweat mixed with sweat; Ballister smiled, and so did Ambrosius. All the other couples were done already, and their eyes were fixed on the pair. Ambrosius and Ballister seemed to ignore the fact, hitting and moving and launching and escaping with ease, laughing slightly whenever the other wavered.
Ballister gave him the fatal blow. Or what would've been the fatal blow, had he used a bit more force. Instead, Ambrosius doubled over with pain, while their coach reluctantly announced Ballister as the winner.
Again.
.
Ambrosius and Ballister looked at each other, frowning. One in front of the other, swords raised, ready to fight all the monsters in the world. They stared.
They had fought, cried, laughed, made out, screamed at and enjoyed things, together. Like two cherries on a stem, like two sides of the same coin. Never seen without each other.
Both of them were adults, now. Even if Ambrosius was barely sixteen, and only an adult because of signed paperwork, they were legally, adults. And they were going to be treated like adults, from now on.
(It wasn't the first time. Had they ever been kids? Ballister couldn't remember. Had they ever been free?)
"From now on" said the Director, walking around them. Every pair of knights stood still and stiff, looking at each other. They always worked in couples. "I want all of you to understand weapons"
Her heels clicked against the floor at every single step she takes. Weapons. Ballister's heart starts to feel heavier in his chests. Weapons. He feels so ready, to take the laser bows and the energy-powered arrows.
He looks around, they all do, murmuring to each other, to themselves. Weapons. They expect to see someone bring them in, or to be told that the lesson will be moved and received outside, where the weapons will be awaiting.
The Director, however, keeps her rhythmic pace. She tells them to close their eyes, and they do, excited.
"I want you to think, for a moment" her voice, cold and bored, makes Ballister's excitement die almost immediately. "To really feel what it's like, to be alive."
They do. Ballister breathes in, slowly, and remembers sunny summers and deadly winters in an orphanage. Joyful springs and melancholic autumns in the Institute. It's calming, if only for a bit.
"Your blood" she adds, enunciating every word, "Feel it, feel it run in your veins. Feel your skin tingle, your hair"
They do. Ambrosius remembers that he's just a bunch of bones, guts, meat and cartilage, all put together to make him... well, him. It's comforting, in a sense.
"Now, open your eyes"
They do. Ballister and Ambrosius look at each other, smiling for half a second, too happy to see the other to hide it immediately.
"In front you, lies the deadliest weapon ever"
(she looks at Ambrosius when she says this. She looks at Ambrosius when she says this. She's already planning the future and he's going to be a vital part of it)
"I want you to try and understand what you are. All of you. You're knights, almost. You've been trained and been instructed"
She instructs them to get their swords up, again. They will fight, again. Like that, all. bundled up, all together. Ambrosius can feel someone hit his back, and he tries to communicate his confusion over to Ballister. Where's the weapons?
The Director tells them. All about it. They're not people, anymore. Not normal people, anyway. They're the best of the best, and the blood that runs under their skins is almost like the oil under a car's metal. They fight, confused and used to bigger spaces, to less people.
She tells them to watch out. They're a weapon, and the person in front of them is, too. Good weapons can be modified, upgraded and polished.
(They can also be disarmed. They can also be disarmed)

Wondering about the Darkling’s motivation last chapter- is he trying to get revenge by messing with kaz, jealousy of his bond with Jes and that Jes is with him, just really doesn’t trust kaz enough to back off, all three?
All three, plus more! First of all, it’s nice that Kaz said everything he wanted to hear and gave in to him but he’s not actually going to believe Kaz until he’s actually physically at his feet (metaphorically) (probably) because it’s nice that Kaz said all that but it’s still Kaz and he doesn’t have the best track record for honesty.
Second, he’s absolutely still jealous of Kaz’s relationships with other people and wants to be the only person Kaz talks to. In a petty way, he’s also still punishing Kaz for leaving him in the first place. He’s going to keep making Kaz miserable until Kaz is with him again because really, it’s only fair (in his mind.)
Most importantly, though, he’s doing a great job of making Kaz look absolutely completely insane to everyone around him and systematically destroying his credibility even though he’s not even physically there. He doesn’t want Kaz to have allies who trust him, he wants to make sure if Kaz does come up with a plan on his own no one will trust it enough to go along with it, and that no one will believe he’s not crazy even if he does tell them the truth.
It’s also just tons of fucking fun. Casual cruelty towards someone he deeply loves who broke his heart.
There’s also something about making Kaz miserable without him, watching him fray at the seams, still keeping him exhausted, having him always on alert, trusting no one, frustrated and fighting. It’s going to make a nice contrast for when Kaz comes back and he backs off. He won’t be in Kaz’s head, Kaz will be well rested, well fed, validated, treated like royalty. The carrot and the stick. Keep Kaz feeling awful without him and good when he’s with him. “I told you that you could stop fighting, and now that you’re here you get to.”
Is it fucked? Yes. But it’s completely logical to him, he thinks it’s only fair, and in the end he believes it’s all for the good of their relationship long term. All couples have spats ♥️

A Time to Love and to Fight
Part Ten
Summary: Enjolras and reader grow closer.
Notes/Warning: Nothing terribly risqué
May have strayed a bit more away from Enjolas in this chapter as well. That said, I still tried to keep it to how I believe it would play out with him. That said.. Be nice! Feedback is welcome! Want to be tagged, please let me know! Chapter 10…this is so fantastic! Thank you everyone! 💐
My sweet treasure - Mon doux trésor, Don't worry, my treasure. I have you. And I will not drop you. - Ne t'inquiète pas, mon trésor. Je t'ai. Et je ne te laisserai pas tomber. My sweet treasure but what if I wished to ravish you? - Mon doux trésor mais et si je voulais te ravir ?
“Mon doux trésor, till my dying breath I will always enjoy how beautiful you look as you smile up at me.”
“Enjolras, please.” You fretted in his arms, gently tugging on his lapels. Never wishing to silence him. But hearing him mention his death once again was almost too much for your dear heart.
“What do you wish of me?” His voice was so soft, you almost cried hearing how gentle his voice was.
“Please, never leave me Enjolras,” You swallowed. “Even in death.”
His face changed as you spoke. His hands came up to cup your face. Something flickered in his eyes that was not merely the flames of the candles.
You hoped you had not sounded like some lovesick child. All you could do was return the gaze of his eyes. His eyes enflamed you completely while also managing to send a sharp chill down your back.
A sound came from within him. You had never heard it before. Then before you had a chance, to breath, he tore himself from you. Leaning against his table, it creaked loudly under his weight.
Standing there, you felt positively run through. Oh how you wished you were more versed, in being around a man. You’d know what to do.
You walked over and laid a hand on him. He turned so suddenly, his eyes falling on you as if he had forgotten you were there. It made you took a step back.
******
He couldn’t even imagine parting from you as well. These kind of emotions, were making his stomach knot horribly. It he wasn’t so pleased to have you here, he surely knew he’d feel ill.
“Mon ange, parting in a few hours will be hard enough. Though I wish with all that is me, that Lachesis will look kindly upon and grants us,” He pressed his lips together. “Will permit us to have such a gift.”
He would never allow death to steal you from him.
Remembering some of his old fencing moves that made him incredibly light on his feet, he managed to draw close to you while also pulling you close.
The slightly dazed expression that graced your face was so sweet, like a flower with fresh dew on its petals.
“I once again must ask, you trust me?”
“Yes, of course. Always.” Your voice was soft.
Easily, he picked you up. He could not suppress the chuckle that bubbled up from deep within his stomach as you clung on to him. Gently, he nuzzled your temple before pressing a kiss on you cheek. “Ne t'inquiète pas, mon trésor. Je t'ai. Et je ne te laisserai pas tomber.” As you tilted into him, he knew he had chosen to do the right thing.
The churning in his stomach only heightened only now there was a kind of sweet dizziness that accompanied it. It was as if his old university days had snuck up on him with this feeling of exhilaration that would come when he would play at leaning out of incredibly high windows only bracing himself by his booted feet. Though holding you in his arms was far more enjoyable.
He strode over then placed you gently down onto his bed. “This is not too different from when you and I lay under your incredibly tall, yet welcoming willow tree.”
As he spoke, he could actually was as the pink rose in your cheeks.
“Where our only comfort comes from your quilt, the plushness of soft moss, and each other.” You nodded. He undid the buttons to his coat and under jacket as he stood beside you.
You reached out as he began to turn. Taking your fingers he drew them close and grazed them with a soft kiss.
“I am not going far. But I don’t wish for these to come between us.” He gave your fingers a soft squeeze before he brought your hand down.
“Are you alright with this, my sweet?” He ran his fingers through his curls, as he stepped back.
You nodded, before grabbing a handful of his blanket you hid your face.
“Oh my sweet girl, must I remind you. Please don’t hide from me, and also please, please use your words.”
“My ability has been stolen from me.”
As you spoke he could hear how breathless you had become. Coming back over he gazed down at you in his bed. It was such a sight that his entire stomach tightened.
He licked his bottom lip before biting it. “Shall you permit me to lay beside you?”
Seeing you turn scarlet in the candle light, he smiled gently as his own cheeks warmed. You nodded. “Yes, yes you may.”
*******
His heart squeezed, exquisitely stealing away his breath as your soft body remained against his. With a trembling hand, he gently ran his fingers along the contours of your face. “You are so beautiful, mon trésor.”
With you as close as you were, he could feel that your heartbeat matched his. He felt how breathless you had become. “Mon trésor, calm that racing heart. We can not allow the sharp pain of our love cause you to swoon.” He smiled softly as you nodded, leaning into his touch.
“Perhaps if you were to kiss me, I shall not faint?”
He pressed some kisses here and there, not yet going back to your pillow some lips. Lingering as his eyes met with yours, he brought his lips to the hollow of your throat. Delicate scent of you made his breath catch.
His lips did not linger and soon he met yours with his own. As he did so, he felt as your soft body press even more against him.

RavenClaw wants to kidnap Jesse
Just a little oneshot for my Warrior Cats OCs, it's posted on ao3 too
----------------------------------------------------
RavenClaw had never been an early riser, not until recently that is. She wanted to keep the rest of the clan from finding out. She slipped out of the den, her years of sneaking past sleeping cats had never helped her more. The moon was still hanging in the sky but purple lined the horizon soon to twist into pinks and oranges and then into blue. By the time Ravenclaw couldn’t see camp the sky had shifted to pink, the morning smell added to her good mood.
After a long walk she could eventually see the outline of a large twoleg nest, the pointed top of the nest pointed to the fading stars. Looking down towards the clean white fence surrounding the nest she kept her eyes towards the wonkiest plank in the fence, the bottom of the plant bent and curved outward, the nails sticking through it bent and dull. A shadow shifted under the board as fur slid through the cracks between the boards, a wide grin spread across Ravenclaws face as her eyes widened in recognition. Her slow pace walk quickenned into a run and then into a sprint, she then skidded to a stop where the white face of her fluffy mate stuck out from the white plank, his paws stretched out to drag themself further out. “Now Jes, you know you can’t fit yet.” Raven giggled at his discomfort, “yeah well if I don’t try the board will never bend enough for me to ever get out.” His strained voice highlighted his struggle. “Move you fluffy oaf, I’m coming in.” RavenClaw pushed her face into his neck to push him back out of the gap. He stumbled against her force, for such a large Maine coon he lacked strength, especially with his wobbles.
Jesse couldn’t fight her pushing and backed out and away from the gap to let her through. “There we go. I wasn’t able to bring you any fresh kill this time, I woke up later than I wanted to. Maybe tomorrow I can bring you something still breathing so you can try catching something yourself.” She sighed as moved to push him over and lay herself over his clean white fur. “Stop taking advantage of my wobbles to lay on me! You know I wouldn’t be able to catch anything.” they huffed, stretched out on his side. “Yeah well I can weaken it a bit for you, maybe then you can catch it.” She nuzzled into him further. “But then it wouldn’t count. Even if you didn’t weaken it, you bringing it to me is cheating.” There was a pause in the air before she broke out into a laugh, “I don’t understand your obsession with fairness. It’s life and death, making things easier isn’t cheating.” She shoved her paw into their face, “well for a forest cat I guess nothing counts as cheating.” He huffed. “Hey now is that a dig at me? Have you grown back the pair those twolegs snipped off?” Her gentle grin stretched into a smirk, pushing him to challenge her further. “Hey too far! Unless you’re ok with me batting out your last eye.” He’d gotten cockier since their first meeting, he had been trembling like a leaf then. “Wow I guess you really have gotten more confident. Is this a sign you finally want to be dragged out of this stinky twoleg nest?” Her smirk dropped into a hopeful smile, “I..I don’t think I’m quite ready for that yet, I haven’t even met any of your uh..” “Clanmates?” “Yes! Clanmates! I haven’t met any yet.” He stuttered through, it seemed he only had the confidence for a few teasing lines today. “Well you’ve met me, I’m not the easiest to get along with. I think the only one who would trust me enough to let me drag them out here to meet you is Crowstar, but I’m not sure she’d want to meet a kitty pet who's not 100% sure they want to leave the twolegs.” She slid off him and helped push him up. “Well if you were to bring her here for me to meet her, I would be 100% ready to leave with you.” He looked down at her earnestly. She stared up at him for a second before showing off a toothy grin, “well we better start making that gap big enough for you then!”
She glanced up at the sky that had now turned to a gentle blue, her clanmates were probably awake at this point. Ravenclaw turned to look at Jesse who was already sharing a look of understanding. Walking towards the gap she slid smoothly out of the fence, she almost startled when she heard Jesse throw himself against the fence in an attempt to break it open wider. “Hey now don’t hurt yourself! We can work on it over time.” She rolled her eyes at his eagerness. “I’ll get hurt as a warrior, might as well get used to it.” He whimpered, “We don’t hurt ourselves intentionally!” She said watching him push against the plank. “Somehow I doubt that looking at you..” He whispered. She gave a warning bat to his face before turning and flicking her stubby tail at his face, she heard a sneeze as she giggled and began her walk back to camp.
----------------------------------------------------
If you're curious about my OCs and why I'm still using such a generic name for RavenClaw I'm open to questions. I'm also happy to take criticism, I haven't written creatively for over a year so I'd like to get better

2012 Rasey - Catch
| Send "Stumble" for your severely injured muse to fall into my muse's arms. send "Catch" for the reverse
What happens when you take a mutant trained in the art of ninjtsu, for protection or not, with a bad temper and bouts of rage? Tossed in with a reckless hotheaded human seeking out hunt down threats? You get the combination of two idiots willing to go and make the same possible dumb choice. Though some took it as the better option than either being left on their own. Thanks to Raphael's short fuse being easily lead into a fight he can't handle. And Casey's general lack of care for his own well being. Partnering them up? Made it so someone was there to care about Casey's well being and in the same vine have someone there to have Raphael's back in a fight no matter threat of it. So patrolling around the city was just the norm for the pair.
Often the firsts to have any kind of inkling when their long list of constant threats to be on the look out for showed their faces. Especially any with a connection to Shredder himself. Like Fish face and dog pound. Despite how many times they fumbled they were still trusted with some of the bulk of Shredder's plans. So the second Casey and Raph caught sight of them? Of course, they tailed after to see what they were up to. And as much as Raphael loved working along side Casey? They were no ninja and easily got found out.
"Oh great job klutz!" Raphael barked out towards Casey as they were in the middle of dealing with a few foot bots. Going all out on the buck of bolts as he torn a metal limb straight out from it's socket. And used it to hurl out towards another. Form and such meant nothing when it came to just taking out as many as he could. Half ignoring Casey's rebuttal do the whole klutz comment. When Raphael had to snap his full attention back into the fight, no long dealing with the robotic ninja's the foot didn't mind to spare so easily. Instead being face to face with Fish Face himself. Now Raphael was trying to be more cautious. They just needed to stall long enough for his brothers to get to them.
Unlike the bots Fish Face was maybe just as bad as Raph aiming to hit and make those hits count, even after their mutation they were still pretty deadly with the knife they preferred as a main weapon. Raphael wished that was all he had to worry about. Trying to hold their focus on him so to keep them all here long enough for the others to join up, well avoiding getting bitten. AGAIN! By Fish Face meant fighting in a way Raphael wasn't a fan of a focus on defense and it showed as his weakness. Once fish face was close enough he took a bite against his bicep and planted a metal foot against his plastron to knock him back.
"Hey you-you fucking...woah" Raphael was all to familiar with Fish Faces poison bite. Even if je was slowly building an intolerance to it, that fucking stuff still did a real number on you. As Raphael tried to scramble up to stand he felt light headed suddenly. Trying his best to follow after fish face and the foot bots still remaining only to stumble and sway with each step taken blanace was far off his legs felt like jello and he think he was? Oh no he was sure he was falling. Falling back into something just left Raphael to stand in confusion. Tilting back his head he tried to get a look at what was holding him. "It's too early for fuckin' Halloween." Raohael complained slightly trying to break out kfnthe hold from the cheap ass skeleton decoration he fall on top off. Only for it to start taking in a voice that belong to Casey? Raphael's arms were hooked by Casey's own arms as he tilted back his head angled back as he tried to understand who or what he was looking at. Feeling the hold on him losen as Casey moved to push his mask up.
"Oh," Raphael beak pulled into a soft smile, his tail unfurled as she allowed it to be slightly behind himself. His vision on Casey was nearly dreamy as he gazed uo at his boyfriend. "Is my prince coming to kiss his princess to break the cruse of the posion?" Raphael asked, uncaring for the fact that not only had he called himself a princess, but he also called Casey a prince. A low churr bubbled from the back of his thoart.
Arm lifted up to hold around Casey's shoulders slowly pulling himself up to his feet as he twisted around near about throwing his other arm around Casey so he could hold on to them and have a better look at Casey. Still lacking a sense of balance he leaned more in towards Casey than anything. Easily knocking them back till the pair fell into a pile of tangled limbs on the ground of the wear house. Raphael’s ears were deaf to anything Casey was saying right now only aware he had Casey below himself.
Green eyes stare turned softer a glint of list crossed over them as he stared down at Casey below himself. Tail wagged hard behind himself, the poison in system clearly was fulling in his blood stream at this point "Oh more than a kiss uh?" Raphael nearly purred when he spoke, lowering his head down to playfully and slowly lap his toung across the side of Casey neck. "I can work with that~ you know I can never get enough of how you moan for me after all" Raphael says before softly planting kisses to Casey's neck.
"You wanna be a good boy for me instead?" Luckily or not, depending on your perspective, Raphael heard the collective foots steps of his brothers and looked up at his brothers. But to his current state of mind? Raphael saw them as something else. As he lowered down and growled lowly above Casey. "Oh don't you even he's mine and you all know it!" Rapahel not leaving a moment for miss interpretation here on his own thoughts right now.
Leo just looked about done, as he looked down to Casey as if this was somehow the humans fault before he sighed and remarked about needing the anti venom to Donnie. As he then turned to Mikey to have go with him and try to catch up with Shrdders forces before they got away. Leaveing Raphael to contuine keeping graud over Casey as if his 'mate' were in risk of being taken from him. Giving warning growls the whole time.

Toi, moi, un rendez-vous?
Gn reader
You were a family friend of the Joestars, and as such were invited to help them take down Dio so that Holly's health would return to normal.
At first glance, you had deemed Polnareff a creep, always flirting with women the first chance he got-unable to keep it in his pants.
You later admired his reasoning for staying by the Joestars' side, both having saved the other's life a few times while fighting off Dio's henchmen.
To avenge his sister as Polnareff wasn't able to protect her and to get back at Dio for using him as a measly pawn, taking over his brain. Removing his free will.
Having family of your own to return to, you kept the true reason for the journey to Egypt secret from them.
All they knew was that it was related to your work with the Speedwagon Foundation. They trusted the Joestars, having known their family since before you were born.
The two of you fell into a routine, cleaning up the other's wound. Polnareff didn't like blood, insisting on going to you for stitches, not wanting to spend more of Joseph's money on another hospital visit. Holding the pin light steady as you worked. Immediately rushing to grab a bag of ice for your bruises.
What Polnareff didn't know was you were secretly learning French so you could be all romantic and ask him out on a date in his mother tongue.
The only one who knew was Kakyoin, hearing you struggle with the pronunciation but he never said a word. Personally finding it endearing, while attempting not to play wingman from afar.
When you thought yourself fluent enough, you went to Polnareff's hotel room. Knocking lightly on the door.
'Can I come in?' Opening the door, he led you to his bed. Taking the desk seat nearby, not wanting you to be uncomfortable. He's mostly curious as to why you look so nervous. Did he do something?
'J'ai étudié le français pour te demander ça. Tu me plais. Ce que je demande, c'est que tu iras à un rendez-vous avec moi?'
Polnareff's raised his hand to his cheek, feeling how red he'd gotten at your forwardness. 'J'aimerais bien, mon cheri.' kissing you on the cheek. Unable to hide how giddy he was.

Training and Criticism
Leather Jackets and Cardigans: Part Two
Isaac Lahey x werewolf! reader
Masterlist
Word count: 1,450
Tagging: @noonesheren @linkpk88
“It’s a school night, you know. We shouldn’t be out this late.”
“Mom told us to do this, Jes. These guys haven’t had the time to learn like we did, so it’s our responsibility to help.”
You could hear Derek from the other room, explaining to his betas that they were getting help. For all his confidence and stubbornness, your parents got through to him. Isaac, Erica, and Boyd weren’t nearly well trained enough to survive having the Argents in town, especially with the addition of whatever creature had killed Isaac’s father. So you and Jesse were volunteered to help.
“Who else is supposed to help us? Scott clearly isn’t the way to go.”
“He’s not the only wolf in town.”
Jesse stepped into the room first, closely followed by you. Isaac tried his best not to look floored by the realization that you were a werewolf too, but it wasn’t hard to tell. You offered a little wave, then sat on the wooden stairs while Derek stood in the center of the room. His betas scattered, then took turns trying to catch him by surprise. Jesse stood beside the stairs, mumbling criticisms to you each time Derek caught one of them and threw them to the floor.
After twenty minutes spent running in circles accomplishing nothing, Jesse stepped in.
“Okay, time for a break. Derek, you’re going about this all wrong.”
“Excuse me?”
“You’re excused.” Isaac sat up on the floor with his packmates on either side of him. “You’re throwing them in the deep end of the pool and getting upset when the best they can do is stay afloat for a few seconds. That’s not how anyone can learn effectively.”
“If you have a better method, beta, then go right ahead.”
Derek never took criticism well. You could vaguely remember meeting him as a kid, watching him wrestle with his siblings whenever they teased him. Now he had more power than he knew what to do with and he still acted like a petty child.
Jesse directed Erica and Boyd to sit with you while he started with Isaac.
“You’ve got more experience than they do. You’ve had a full moon already and some time to adjust to your heightened senses. That will serve you well.”
The two stood a few feet apart, circling each other for a moment before your brother lunged forward. Isaac barely dodged him the first time, but wasn’t so lucky with the second swing. He hit the floor with a dull thud and looked up at your brother as if expecting to be yelled at.
“Unfortunately for you, I’ve had my whole life to work on this. This creature, whatever it is, won’t go easy on any of you. You’re at a disadvantage every step of the way.”
“Pretty sure we’re supposed to be giving a pep talk, Jes.”
“What is there to be peppy about here? You’re all incredibly new to being werewolves, there’s an incredibly skilled and ruthless hunter family here, and there’s some unidentified monster killing people.”
“But you’re all a pack. There’s that.” You hopped up and moved to help Isaac to his feet. “Jesse and I can work in tandem like a well oiled machine, not just because we’re siblings, but because we’re packmates. We’re aware of every shift in body temperature, the smell of every emotion one another feels, everything. I know him like the back of my hand and vice versa. We have to.”
“So what does that mean for us?”
You offered Boyd a comforting smile.
“You need to know each other, really know each other.”
Derek was clearly upset about everything you were telling them. He could still remember what it felt like to be a pack. The Hales were a tight knit bunch who trusted each other implicitly, but that was all long gone now. His betas didn’t have time to sit around telling each other their deepest darkest secrets and forming inside jokes. There was a clear and present danger that they had to focus on.
“They need to learn to fight, now. We don’t have time for anything else. So are you two going to help with that, or should I send you back to your parents?”
Jesse tensed up behind you and your hand shot out to grab his elbow. He shook you off and went to another room with the testy alpha. You watched him go, then started talking with the other betas. While you explained a bit about how you could hide your status as a wolf, your brother tried to keep his voice low.
“Packs aren’t about violence, Derek. They’re about connection. Until you learn that, all you’ll have is a bunch of unprepared teenagers.”
“I know they aren’t ready. That’s why I’m doing what I can to teach them to survive. That's all we can do right now.”
You led Isaac to the middle of the room and stood apart like he had with Jesse. You walked him through how to sense an attack coming, encouraging Boyd and Erica to try the same thing.
“You have no business being alpha, you know. You see your betas as soldiers and you think strength is something to be stolen, not earned. I pity every one of those kids in there.”
“That’s pretty big talk coming from a seventeen year old. What do you know about strength or war?”
All three betas circled you, taking turns trying to lunge at you while you listened to the conversation in the other room. Even with your attention split, none of them made it far before you’d knock them back and tell them to try again.
“I know that being reckless like you gets people killed. I know that my family has lost too many of us to hunters and alphas who think they can tear us apart. I also know how you got your power by killing your own uncle. Regardless of what he did, you killed him for your own gain.”
“What are you even doing here, if you have so little faith in my abilities?”
“I’m here for my sister. You turned her best friend into one of us and I’m not about to let you get him killed.”
Jesse came back just as Erica managed to knock you to your knees. You smiled up at her and gave a little thumbs up as she backed up.
“That’s a good start.”
“You’re going easy on them.”
You scoffed. Isaac helped you to your feet, though you both knew it was unnecessary. Jesse watched you brush off your knees and check the time.
“Everyone has to start somewhere. Now, we have about an hour before we need to be home for dinner. Let’s see what we can manage by then.”
Jesse got even more into the training than you did. You both lost track of time, so Derek grudgingly sent your parents a text assuring them you were alright. It was nearly midnight when Jesse called it quits. He looked over to find you fast asleep on the stairs with Isaac’s leather jacket draped over you.
Isaac himself, despite feeling sore and tired, gently took you in his arms and carried you out to your brother’s car. Once you were settled in the backseat, Jesse slipped the leather away from you and held it out to him.
“It’s alright, she can keep it for now.”
“Take it, dude. She hates the leather.”
Isaac’s brow furrowed.
“She does?”
“Yeah. You’ve known her for a decade, Isaac. When have you ever seen her wear or appreciate leather? Cardigans are her thing, always have been.”
Isaac thought about it for a second and nodded. You did have a lasting love for cardigans, always curling up in one big enough to act as a blanket. You would often shake the sleeves out to let them cover your hands, flapping them around and playfully hitting him.
“Thank you for helping out tonight. I know it wasn’t your first choice.”
“Anything that helps Y/N is my first choice. If you know how to keep yourself alive, that means she can focus more on schoolwork than on whether or not your idiot alpha got you killed.”
Isaac bristled at the insult to his alpha, but he understood Jesse’s frustration. He’d always acted as your protector, being the closest in age to you of all your siblings. He was just doing his job, Isaac supposed.
“Well, thanks anyway. Drive home safe.”
“Don’t get caught by the police.”
Isaac hurried back inside while your brother left. You slept soundly the whole night, dreaming of a day when the Hale pack was once again something to be admired.

Jesper with s/o who really knows how to kick ass (aka sis was trained by someone)
Jesper with a Trained S/O
a/n - I love the pairing of Jesper and the pet name honey too much aaah. Also this was written over two nights when I was half asleep so forgive me if it isn't top notch xoxo 💗💝
Warnings: fighting, poison, bruises/cuts but no real mentions of blood or anything
Tumblr media
so
Kaz obviously employed you because of how amazing you are at any type of combat
but when asked the specific reason, he had only responded with a cryptic answer that gave the Crows nothing
"They're an asset to the team. Just as all of you are."
you would train at extremely early hours of the morning, often seen jogging back up the stairs to your room drenched in sweat right when others first awoke
but no one knew what you were actually doing
until Inej caught you in the training room in the Slat, practically beating a punching bag
the funny thing was, you didn't look as though you were a street fighter, one who had developed their own adapted technique that would get them by in a scrap
your punches were calculated, muscles flexing in just the right way and stature perfect
it was the ideal stance for a real fight in a ring
she didn't say anything and instead decided to get up just a little earlier each day in order to observe you
she was caught when she let the door creak accidentally, but instead of kicking her out of the room you only offered to leave so she could use it
she refused and said she'd rather watch you
and she did from then on, you having no protest or apparent problem with it
sometimes, you'd go up against Inej and circle each other warily, not daring to underestimate the other
you had only been on a few low level heists with the Crows at that point, Kaz mercifully easing you into the work
but it was noticed by Nina that whenever it was necessary to run and hide, you could sprint with full stamina and hardly break a sweat unless it was done for a long amount of time
she also noticed your heart rate barely raised
she brought it up once
"Ugh, (Y/N), I'm so jealous, you literally must be super-human, how are you so energised?"
this was said through panting breaths as she bent to rest her hands on her knees, much like the others were doing
this meant in turn it wasn't really registered by anyone
only you
you didn't really mind people knowing you were trained in combat, but didn't flaunt it or let anyone know without them finding out
you would act casually when found out, downplaying your skills
everything was a threat in the Barrel, and saying one wrong thing near one wrong person could cost you your head
you hadn't stiffened when Nina said that, only nodding and grinning, leaning against the wall with your hands in your pockets yet not saying anything verbally
you knew how to play the game and in order to do that, you had to let them subconsciously dismiss the very idea itself
Albert Einstein iq I'm telling you
psychology at its very core
you know
so
it's all forgotten until they see your skills put to use on a heist
if you've watched now you see me 2 and watched the spectacular card sequence, the next part is basically that
your tactful hand at cards could beat Kaz Brekker himself
on the heist, you know one of Kaz's sacred backup plans
only one, mind you
so, it's like the card sequence
you're all going in as guests but you and Kaz will shoot the card with the information between you and your separate searches
"Hands the other way, ma'am."
Your hands flew the opposite way, palms now facing the guard as the card was quickly flipped between your fingers, and with a single, efficient flick of the wrist Kaz had it in his possession.
"Alright, on your way you go."
Jesper had only seen because he was stationed behind you, otherwise he never would have known it was so seamless
Nina told them later that kind of thing seemed to be a regular occurrence as your heart rate had been completely average
showing how confident you are, go bestie
it was true
you and Kaz had trained for that heist often however barely for any length of time at all
the best part for you was that you had been checking how noticeable it was and flipping the card back and forth between you in meetings
Jesper's eyes had widened comically when he observed the whole thing and his jaw dropped
you laughed as you stepped past and kissed his jaw, making it close promptly as he chased after you, desperate for answers
your cards can also be poisoned
and in another heist they doubted you
because they had seen you help pull something off but not use any as a weapon
you were motioned by Kaz to appear innocent until another signal was given, one of which only you and Inej had been paying attention to and so understood
but after you hissed at Jesper out of the corner of your mouth, he stayed subdued too
you remained eerily silent as they pushed you against the wall and searched your pockets
the cards were brought out and ridiculed, even if you had cleverly concealed knives, now you knew how you would kill these men
after the go ahead was given, you burst into action, swooping downward and catching the man holding you off guard
you collected the cards and grinned as you stepped back, now the front most Crow in your little pyramid formation at the end of the street
"And what are they gonna do?"
A malicious glint appeared in your eye as Jesper tapped your shoulder, thinking you had backed yourself into a corner here.
but then, your hand flew out and struck one clean in the eye, making them wail and drop to their knees as you flung another card, swiping a man's cheek
they did not fall until a minute later, that minute consisting of you whipping cards at them and Jesper tugging on your sleeve
he'd do that a lot, before he knew of your training and maybe after too
it wasn't that he thought you couldn't handle yourself, just that he wanted to protect you in any way possible
so pulling you behind him was a knee jerk reaction, desiring to save his loved one from any possible threat or danger
he would do anything for you, let a bullet pierce his chest, a dagger land in his throat, as long as you emerged okay
it was only later, when you got Kaz to pick up the cards, saying it would be easier to wash them with a cloth than learn how to balance the slightly differing weight of a new pack
you made Kaz do it because he had leather protection and knew of the poison darkening the edges of the cards to an inky black
they were kept in a special and specific packet so there was no possible way of you being hurt unless you were completely careless
that was completely unable to happen because you were wary enough to know what to do and what not to
but Jesper still insisted you left them in his coat after he found out, wanting you to be totally risk free
"What if you're not with me? How will I use my weapons?"
"Well, my darling, that will not be the case," he paused to snicker at his unintentional joke about the container then continued, "because Kaz will absolutely keep us together at all times."
You hummed thoughtfully, "How do you know that?"
There was an immediate answer, no moment of hesitation from your sharpshooter, "He simply can't handle how fantastically amazing I am on his own, knowing I am far superior and so will continue to pair us together to avoid having to face that foe."
"Jes, honey, he could partner you with Inej or Nina or Matthias, you know that, right?"
He was stumped and his mouth opened before closing once more.
the cards were still not handed back though
don't worry, new ones were purchased after Jesper insisted on 'clinging' to the other pack like a lifeline, according to Kaz
he did find out about this after you saved his ass in a fight with them
he was so mad, not that you'd defied him but that you had put yourself in danger with the cards
but after Inej pointed out he had to trust you at some moment in time, he softened
because how could you think he didn't trust you?
he didn't ever want you to have to answer that question and set about trying to rectify the situation
you received breakfast in bed and apology cuddles
"I trust you."
It was the mantra he had been repeating for days and you smiled as your hand came to rest upon his jawline.
"I know, darling. I know."
You were met with a soft kiss to your collarbone as his head dipped to fall into the crook of your neck, wrapping his arms around your waist in a tight but gentle hug.
He hummed before continuing, "Just wanted to make sure, honey."
the cards were left wordlessly on your bedside table, drawing a small sated smile from your lips
after he came to terms with the fact that you were a Dreg, a Crow, someone who would be targeted because you were entwined with him, he became just a little overprotective
not that you minded
just reassuring him often you were okay and he was too
after Wylan came along, you politely requested to know if he could make some kind of thing that would make the cards easier to collect
he came up with the idea of a magnetic substance that could be brushed over the centre of the cards, meaning if you kept one in your hand and waved it over the others, there would be no time delay in which you would have to pick them up
again
the added weight, even such a small increment, affected the momentum needed and angle necessary
for days, you were flinging your cards at a wall, barely stopping to eat, wanting to be useful
Jesper dragged you back to bed several times in the early mornings with coaxing syllables and sweet words, promises on how you would get it right tomorrow
"Sweetheart, just come back to bed. Wait a few hours and try again. You're so close to getting this. I just know it."
As you wrapped yourself in the comforter his hand came to stroke your cheek, "There you go, see, you were looking half asleep on your feet, doing yourself no good anyway, lovely. Or those cards."
when witnessing your physical combat skills, Jesper would let a surprised chuckle fall, not fully in control of himself
watching you flip an enemy who had underestimated you over your shoulder never got old
neither did seeing your boot swivel slightly on their chest as you proved just how skilled you were
awww such pure and innocent love
"Don't think I won't beat you in a fight again, Lion. Or there won't be another opportunity for you to."
"That's my partner!"
"Alright Jes, bit much but thanks for hyping me up."
Just as you turned and both of you were about to walk away, a cold and clammy hand clamped over your ankle and you instantaneously recoiled.
Then, before Jesper or the Dime Lion knew what was happening, your fist connected with his stomach, hand coming up to cover your false and exaggerated yawn.
"So cool." Was whispered from your sharpshooter as you stalked off, boots clicking on the gravel pavement.
he had forced you into a chair, begging you to let him take care of your now bruising knuckles and you begrudgingly agreed
"Wasn't so bad, huh?"
"Don't push it." Was the joking response as his arm slung over your waist, and his thumbs brushed over the bandage he had applied so carefully as his hand covered the one you had let hang at your hip.
"Wouldn't dream of it, darling. Don't have the foggiest why you would assume such of me."
if you ever couldn't handle the entire situation and obtained an injury, Jesper would stay by your side
when a minor one, like a small gash on your forehead appeared, he would insist on personally caring for it
and if major, he would hold your hand, allowing you to squeeze it as hard as you wanted when the pain became too much
the same went for the other way round, you giggling at bandages wrapped all around his head like a bandana
but only after you knew he was alright
if tears filled your eyes, caused by relief, his thumb would come up to brush them away and slightly pull the corners of your mouth into a weak and wavering smile
"I'm alright. I'm okay, honey, you just remember that."
the both of you would press gentle goodnight kisses to each others foreheads or lips, forgetting a bruise or cut
this would end in frantic apologies and inevitable laughter when you kept speaking over one another
basically, Jesper thinks you're so badass, amazing and fantastic, reminding you just how highly he regards you everyday
you will protect him and he will protect you, no matter what

kaz x jesper- kaz is injured and jesper has to touch him to help & kaz realizes maybe he doesn’t mind as much when it’s jesper
NONNY I LOVED THIS PROMPT!!! Sorry it took me a few days to get to, I once again intended a drabble and accidentally wrote nearly 1000 words 🤷Hope you enjoy!
Dammit.
Kaz knew it was bad, the moment he tried to get up and stumbled instantly, ricocheting off the nearby wall with a grunt. Pain danced as white stars behind his eyes, and he blew out a harsh breath, gritting his teeth. The Dime Lions were still shooting over the barrels at them, so Kaz ignored the radiating pain in his shoulder, the slow stickiness that was creeping through the thigh of his trousers. Using the wall to brace against, Kaz raised his pistol and took out two Dime Lions who peered over the barrels at the wrong time.
‘Nice shootin’, boss!’ Jesper was in his element, revolvers in both hands, rattling off bullets with a crow of delight. Kaz risked another look towards the Dime Lions, at the same moment Jesper fired off a final shot.
The last thug fell.
Jesper turned around, blazing a triumphant smile at Kaz. Kaz managed a grimace before he collapsed against the wall again.
‘Kaz?’ Jesper’s voice was worried, as he hurried to Kaz’s side and reached out a hand—
‘Don’t,’ snapped Kaz, pulling back.
Jesper’s hand hovered, then fell to his side. ‘Well, boss, we have to do something. I know a separated shoulder when I see one, and I’m fairly sure you’ve been shot in the leg.’
Kaz scowled and picked up his cane, knuckles probably white beneath his gloves. ‘Come on,’ he said, leading them away at a slow, hobbling pace. He ignored Jesper’s mutterings of ‘obstinate bastard’ from his side.
They were only an alley away from one of Kaz’s tiny safe houses — a hole in the wall, really — just big enough for the two of them, and stocked with a cache of food, drink, and medical supplies. Kaz grabbed the half-empty bottle of whiskey off the shelf, pulling the stopper free with his teeth and drinking down a long pull. The alcohol burned through his body, and he took another drag, willing the pain to dull, just a little. Jesper was already rummaging in the medical supplies, pretending to be busy, until Kaz took his third swallow.
‘Okay, that’ll do,’ Jesper said, getting to his feet and pulling away the bottle. ‘Let me put your shoulder back.’
Kaz glared at him, ignoring the flutter of anxiety in his heart. Jesper’s face softened a little, his silver eyes intense. ‘Look, I’ve done it before. It’ll hurt like a bitch, but it’s better than waiting til we get back to the Slat.’ A pause. Then: ‘You can trust me, Kaz.’
Kaz looked away. He wasn’t afraid of the pain. Pain, he could deal with. He’d had plenty of practice. But the thought of Jesper touching him, his hands manipulating Kaz’s body, putting him back together… Another shiver rippled through him, but this one didn’t feel like anxiety, Kaz realised. More like the high of anticipation, the brief moments before a brawl.
But he did trust Jes, didn’t he? More than most. More than any, really, except maybe for the Wraith.
And Jes was waiting (for once), quiet (for once), for Kaz to take his time in deciding.
‘Fine.’
Jesper didn’t hesitate. He stepped into Kaz’s space, braced his palm against his body, and snapped Kaz’s shoulder back into place. Kaz cursed and snatched the bottle back up, downing another shot. Jesper was eyeing him warily. ‘I need to strap it up, Kaz, or it could pop out again.’
Jesper had that look to him, the one he got when he should fold but goes all in. The one that meant he wasn’t going down without a fight.
‘Over the shirt,’ Kaz said, looking away from Jesper.
Jesper pulled out a length of bandage, and moved slowly towards Kaz. ‘Here we go, then,’ he murmured, and Kaz tensed as Jesper moved his injured arm, gently but firmly placing it across his chest. He started to bandage it in place, but Kaz was focused on Jesper’s touch. The waters were there, always there, the coldness at his ankles, the rotten stench of flesh on the air, but something was different.
Jesper carried on binding Kaz’s arm, holding him so the injured joint didn’t get jostled too badly. Soon he was done, looking at Kaz with fondness in his eyes.
‘You gonna let me take a look at that gunshot?’ Jesper asked after a moment of silence.
Kaz tried to push away the flicker of anticipation the question caused. He shrugged, one-shouldered, as if he didn’t much care either way. ‘Might as well.’
Jesper was silent, again, as he cut away the material at Kaz’s thigh. Kaz grumbled only a little: his trousers were ruined either way, from the hole the gunshot had made. Jesper whistled, long and low, and then his fingers were on Kaz’s skin, gently probing at the wound. Kaz gritted his teeth, focusing on the pain rather than the touch.
But as Jesper cleaned away the blood and gore, poked a little bit more at the wound (‘Saints, Kaz, the bullet just skimmed your leg. You’re a lucky son of a bitch, you know that?’), and started to gently patch him up, Kaz realised what was strange.
When Jesper touched him, the waters rose much slower than with anyone else.
He focused, now, on Jesper, rather than the pain. On the way his hands soothed Kaz’s body, like he was calming an anxious horse. On the way he moved much slower and more gentle than Kaz had ever given him credit for.
And when Jesper looked up at Kaz, those silver eyes lingering on the curve of Kaz’s lips, a glint of suggestiveness in them, Kaz bit back a smile.
Maybe it was worth getting injured every once in a while, after all…

✧・゚: the day you meet again, rain runs from drooping leaves.
petrichor. a deep voice calls from within your memory as you walk. the scent left by rain is a rather unique combination of natural chemicals, slightly different to each region depending on the plant life that most thrives there.
as if to prove his point, you remember the man stopping to pluck a glaze lily from the earth, dotted with the same gentle smell. an innocent enough gesture. yet as you took the flower from his gloved hand, an abrupt sense of belonging crashed through your chest.
but the scent grew cloying over time. easily, even, with dainsleif’s tales of the old nation of khaenri’ah, and the archon’s ties with your missing sibling. that same fragrance of rain is rotten in your nose as you walk, the ball of tension in your throat doing little to keep you grounded.
because suddenly, your thoughts drift back to him in every stray moment. every past conversation is taken apart with a careful hand, yet is still unskilled in pulling out the lies you want to find. no matter what you do, you know that in the familiar stalls and cloudy reflections of shop windows will remain memories of zhongli, as hard as you may try to keep your eyes averted from them.
you find him with ease, the notion of knowing him so well curling in your stomach. but you choose to give yourself the benefit of the doubt; while a man of substance, it’s not hard to discern what zhongli’s hobbies may be.
it’s a lie and you know it.
there was only ever one place he chose to go to on days like today, anyway, where the clouds hang low and dark in the sky. they cast a temporary shadow over the world, the greenery and water mingled in a soothing dance with the air.
the ambience is lost on you as you climb the stairs of the pavilion, turning towards the veranda with rocks in your boots. he sits behind a thin screen that hangs down to block the rain, back turned to you. there’s a golden pot of tea next to him that still steams.
“___, it’s nice to see you.”
you haven’t said anything yet, but it’d be foolish to assume he didn’t hear you coming. your chest feels heavy as you try to take casual steps forward.
“you as well.” the words come out in a mumble as he finally turns towards you, eyes clear of suspicion. but, you’re sure not to mistake this as trust — zhongli must be aware of the bittersweet reunion between you and your sibling, regardless of his status of retirement.
“i hadn’t been expecting you.”
a small smile quirks his lip as he raises a hand, silently calling to a member of the waitstaff. a brief recount of your sudden arrival is all that’s needed before he places an order of your favourite beverage — a pot of sweet herbal tea you’d shared many times before.
you bite back your words and nod your thanks.
there is no barrier between you, not that there ever has been — you are alike in your positions of rebirth, and share the sentiments that come with leaving something cherished behind. but as you settle into the chair across from him, he can’t shake the notion of a strong connection beginning to sever.
“recently,” he clears his throat softly, naturally in a way only he can manage. “how have you been fairing?"
“i.. could have been better. but, that’s just how it’s been lately."
zhongli nods. his eyes do all they can to ease your tense figure from a distance, gentle as he says, “…after this all, i hope you’re alright.”
somewhat unbeknownst to you, his words are truthful. while aware of the situation on your mind, he is prepared to withstand any reaction you might have; whether you choose to forgive him or would rather never see him again, it is nothing he doesn’t see coming.
but the moment you pale hearing those words, he almost reconsiders.
“so i guess it's true?” you pause to let the waitstaff place a teapot in front of you, decorated with the delicate purple leaves of a wisteria tree. zhongli takes note of the way you put aside your gloomy expression to send the member a comforting smile while they pour your beverage, reassuringly easing the tension they must inevitably feel interrupting such a situation.
he’s looking into the depths of his tea cup when you try to meet his eyes again. you may be alone once again, but the awkwardness has not disappeared.
“…don’t you have an excuse?” your hands wrap around the warm cup in front of you, your eyes jumping from one place to another, not in panic, but disbelief. zhongli sees the way your words affect you, the bitter poison they must taste like after holding them in, the anxiety in knowing that he may be just the type of person you hope he isn’t.
he pauses for a few moments, the pattering rain insistent on the overhang not far from you. but he will not ever be the one to deny you the luxury of the truth.
“no.”
he states his answer simply, deliberately taking a sip of the tea that has long gone cold in his cup. in that moment, zhongli would use any means necessary to avoid seeing the heartbreak in your eyes.
“it was a contract.” he says, finally placing the cup down and breaking the defining silence. your eyes find his quickly.
he wants to tell you. tell you what? that you have every right to be angry with him for hiding the information you seek? that despite the horrible and deceiving man he’s become, he’s begun to realise that he wants you to be there to forgive him? there is little within the scope of reality that he is truly capable of hiding from you, and he curses the world every day that it has to include this.
“i sincerely apologise.” zhongli’s voice is low, the retired god seen nowhere in the regret that lines it. “but i cannot break a contract, not even for you.”
zhongli has always been a meticulous man; his suits are ironed in a specific way that he prefers to handle himself. he will talk about operas for hours if not prompted to stop, yet will only ever attend showings at one theatre. he is the same with the agreements he makes, steadfast and reliable in everything he does.
you only wish he could make an exception just this once.
words are jumbled in your throat, different scenarios and endings fighting to come out on top — you want to say something. there is no reason to give into the satisfaction that would come with walking away. yet when you open your mouth, your words escape you.
what do i want to say?
you walk away only when you’ve convinced yourself that it must be better for both of you this way, to separate yourself from the idea of him so you can finally see the entirety of him.
as your figure disappears below the veranda’s stairs, zhongli feels little. he knows there should be a cold bite, a flicker from deep within him that only comes when someone may never return, yet there is not even a moment of hesitation. he reminds himself that he should be prepared to see to whatever conclusion you reach.
silently, he pushes the cup in front of him to the centre of the table with the intention of leaving it to be collected. instead, he can’t help but notice how it rests next to its companion in the set, designed to be the counterpart to yours.
the artist had clearly intended the two to symbolise night and day, yours painted a deep purple complimented by an old wisteria tree — his, however, remains a golden colour, and contains the image of a blooming glaze lily.
he tears his eyes away, fighting against the fear of you, too, leaving for good.

(If the ending seems rushed it's because it is, I was tired of looking at it. This has been on my drafts for a while.)
@messedupmoon
It took Danny about half an hour before he could admit it to himself: he was totally lost.
"I thought you said you knew where he was!" He hissed quietly at the kwami in his hair.
"I do," Huginn said, "He's somewhere in Paris."
"You are the worst kwami ever. Paris is huge!"
"I could have said he was somewhere in France."
Danny made a frustrated sound as he pulled out a paper map, not trusting Google to give him the proper directions. As he did so he failed to notice the other person running towards him.
"So I think if we just-oof!"
He collided into someone else and they both went sprawling on the cobblestone. Danny's hand flew up to his hair, making sure Huginn was there and wasn't sent flying where people could see him.
(They weren't careful enough in Amity one day and his parents are more convinced than ever that Phantom is a ghost. He really didn't want to send Paris into a panic of something similar.)
The other teen groaned as he lay on the cobblestone, a look of resignation on his face.
Danny scrambled to his feet and went to help him up, "I am so sorry! Lo siento-nope, that's Spanish. Wait what's french for sorry?"
"Désolé."
Danny blinked, and focused on the guy that grabbed his outstretched hand. He grinned as Danny pulled him to his feet.
"Je suis désolé is what you are looking for. But you could always just say it in English."
Danny flushed, "Yeah, sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going."
He waved him off, "I am sorry as well. I was not looking either. My name is Adrien."
"Danny." Danny looked at the crumpled and slightly torn map, "Uh, would you be willing to help me with directions?"
"Oui. One of the tourist attractions? A hotel?"
"No, not a tourist." Adrien shot him a questioning look. "No really! I'm looking for this guy. I have this….problem I'm hoping he could help me with."
"Where does he live?"
"I don't know."
Adrien raised an eyebrow.
Danny huffed. "All I know is his name is Wang Fu and he owns, like, a tea shop or something in Paris. My source was rather useless when it came to directions." He winced as Huginn pulled at his hair in retaliation.
Danny saw that Adrien was giving him a funny look. "I know I'm making like no sense but I already tried Google and all it did was take me to the Eiffel Tower and I don't have the name of his shop cause my source hasn't been to Paris in forever-"
Danny groaned into his hands.
Adrien was silent for a moment, and then he said, "I think I know who you are talking about."
Danny peeked through his fingers to see Adrien making a thoughtful face. Adrien grinned at him. “You are lucky. Master Fu is my Chinese tutor. I would be happy to show you his shop.”
Danny stared at him, hands dropping from his face. “You’re serious? Don’t you have somewhere else to be?”
“Oui,” Adrien shrugged, “My Chinese lessons."
Danny let out a surprised laugh, “Talk about good luck!”
Adrien snorted, “Good luck tends to avoid me these days.”
“Oh you got a case of Murphy’s Law too?”
“Sans aucun doute,” he replied wearily.
Danny had no idea what Adrien just said, but he could relate.
It was only a ten minute walk to Fu’s shop, in which Adrien and Danny had spent making small talk. It was pretty cool to chat with a local who was happy to tell him all about the hidden spots in Paris.
Danny really wasn’t here for sightseeing, and he had to go home in a couple days, but it was still cool.
“-and if you are ever caught in an akuma attack, I find alleys are a good way to stay clear of the damage.”
Danny blinked, “Akumas?”
Adrien gave him a curious look, “Yes, Hawkmoth’s akumas. You should have been informed of that when you came into the city. They give out booklets.”
“....I’m not very good at listening.” Danny could feel Huginn laughing silently in his hair. “That sounds like a supervillain.”
“It is a supervillain who takes someone experiencing negative emotions and turns them into a rampaging monster with a butterfly called an akuma so he can steal the miraculous of Ladybug and Chat Noir.”
Danny blinked incredulously. At least Huginn was right in the fact that Paris would have the answers they were looking for. If Wang Fu didn’t have anything to offer, maybe he could find Paris’s resident heroes for some answers. Looking around, he didn’t notice any damage similar to his own fights.
“And here we are!” Adrien gestured to the almost hidden massage parlor.
The two of them walked into the shop, the bell above the door announcing their arrival. “Un moment!”
Danny shivered with his kwami as the two of them felt the magic in the air wrap around them.
“Bon après-midi, Sensei!” Adrien called back, “J'ai amené un ami.”
“Un ami?”
Wang Fu himself was very short in person, and gave Danny a very confused look as he walked into the backroom beside Adrien.
“Um, hello sir.” Danny waved awkwardly, mentally trying to figure out how to get Adrien away long enough to talk about his miraculous problem.
Huginn solved that problem by jumping right to it, almost literally. Adrien gave a squawk of surprise as the small black kwami flew out of Danny’s hair and up to Fu. “You are the last guardian correct?”
“Huginn!” Danny hissed.
“We need your help.” Huginn continued regardless of Danny stressing out behind him. “Something went wrong with the miraculous.”
“Umm….” Adrien was looking between Danny and Huginn with wide eyes.
Fu looked curious and somewhat baffled himself. “A crow miraculous? I had thought the Miraculous of Passageways and Death was nothing but a myth.”
Danny threw up his hands. “Oh sure! Let’s just forgo any sense of secret identities, it’s not like my enemies are trying to kill me or anything.”
“You are a Miraculous holder?” Adrien asked, looking like he got hit over the head.
“More or less,” Danny muttered. He sighed heavily before lifting his bangs.
Wang Fu muttered something that had Adrien flushing as he reached up to look at the scars on Danny’s forehead. “My miraculous fused to my head.”
“And I thought my kid had bad luck!” Another black kwami flew up to poke at him.
“Plagg!”
“I see we’re outing all the identities today.” Huginn said, “Is Hawkmoth next?”
Danny smiled at Adrien, “Hey! Same hat!”

FFXIV Write 2021 #15: Thunderous
Tumblr media
((A longer one. Violence, blood, and fire. Not safe for heretics or dragoons as we step back to last week and the aftermath of “Heady”...))
“There they are!” X’rhun exclaimed. “Thank the gods!”
Alberic only puffed a breath in agreement as they ran across and down the ravine to where Aeryn was tending to an ashen-faced Heustienne.
“The cavalry has arrived,” the injured dragoon said dryly, her damaged chainmail removed to allow Aeryn access to the wound. Not the worst Heustienne had ever taken, but more than bad enough.
“Thank Halone you’re safe,” Alberic said as X’rhun dropped to his knees next to the women to lend his own aid if needed. “We heard from Kal Myhk you’d tangled with a group of heretics—”
“They took us to Avengret,” Aeryn’s voice cut him off; quiet, too steady, too calm.
For a moment the world paused, until X’rhun’s tail lashed as he turned to look up at Alberic.
Aeryn wasn’t looking at him, her hands resting on her knees now, feet tucked under her. Heustienne’s gaze flicked between Aeryn and Alberic, her own questions barely held back.
“Let’s get Heustienne upright,” X’rhun said gently. “And then get back to—”
“Anyx Trine?” Aeryn interrupted. “Will they tell me the truth if I ask? They must know. If what she said is true.” She turned her head slightly toward Alberic without raising her face, looking at his boots. “She said I should ask you.”
“Aeryn…” His mouth was dry.
She looked up finally, lips parting to say more, but instead she drew in a sharp breath, eyes wide and shining silver, not seeing Alberic or anything else around her now.
He groaned, whether in fear or agony or relief, he wasn’t certain.
——
Alberic followed Corran Striker into the house. It was a pleasant little place, clean and airy. The edges of the walls were lined with brightly painted flower and vine designs, and small pieces of colored glass bordered the custom-framed windows to allow some of the light to also reflect rainbows into the rooms--that couldn’t have been cheap, Alberic thought.
“Please, leave your helm and lance by the door. I think my wife will forgive the boots this time.”
“I keep the lance close to hand, you understand,” Alberic replied as he at least set down his helm on the table by the door.
There was evidence of children; their house slippers by the door, a doll on a chair, a set of tin knights cluttering the low table in the sitting room. His heart ached. “What a lovely home,” he said. “Will the missus and children be joining us?”
Corran shook his head. “Emelia’s running some of her crafts all the way to Fallgourd in the Shroud, and took Zaine and Aeryn with her for the fun. They’ve been cooped up too long, she thought.” He smiled fondly. “It’s a way she deals with her homesickness, and shares that part of herself with our children; she grew up traveling part of the year selling wares as a girl in Thavnair.”
Relief, but also renewed wariness prickled along Alberic’s spine as he followed Corran to the kitchen, leaning his lance on the wall right behind his chair as he took the offered seat at the dining table. “Thavnair? That’s a ways away. Explains the colors though.”
“I got rather lucky,” Corran replied, his tone warm and genuine. “She misses it, but is somehow willing to stay with me.”
“Ever think of visiting?” Alberic asked casually as Corran went about the motions of preparing the lunch he had offered the tired dragoon when they had accidentally met in the treacherous priest’s chapel. Corran had seemed surprised to learn of Comfraire’s heresy, but had offered hospitality despite his own shaken state.
“If there wasn’t always so much work to do, perhaps someday we could,” Corran said quietly.
“I think I’d take the chance, perhaps even move permanently, were I a common man with a family. Get the children far from the war, among the wife’s people.”
“I won’t lie; the thought has occurred to me,” Corran said. “Though I’m surprised, Ser Azure; I’d think one like you would want to keep promising future soldiers for the war in Ishgard.”
Alberic shrugged. “As I said; were I a common man, with a foreign wife who misses her home and children with futures to think of.”
The chronometer in the hall ticked steadily as Corran worked. “Perhaps. Though much as she misses Thavnair, I’d miss Coerthas. I love my home, Ser Azure. There’s little I wouldn't do to see our homeland prosper.”
Alberic did not reply, not trusting his tongue to respond to the man’s gall.
As Corran came to the table with sandwiches and a decent-looking ale, Alberic smiled. “Then perhaps you can aid me in protecting our homeland,” he said. He hoped he was wrong about Corran. “I am tracking a dangerous creature I believe the false priest Comfraire was working with, coordinating an imminent attack from the Horde.”
Corran raised an eyebrow. “I’m but a simple farmer, Ser. I don’t know what help I could be.” He glanced down at his plate.
The chronometer in the hall continued to tick.
“Know you of anyone Comfraire spent time with, when not pretending to holy duties? Places the priest liked to go when not tending the church? I hear you were among those who escorted the fellow on his daily walks.”
“A duty many of us in the community shared,” Corran replied, tone growing strident. “Do you accuse me of heresy merely for minding an old man on his daily constitutional?”
“No of course not,” Alberic answered. He pulled the correspondence he had found in Comfraire’s hidden desk drawer from his pack. “These letters however do indicate guilt.”
“Well that is another story, isn’t it?” Corran asked, leaning back in his chair. The humble farmer demeanor fell away as he crossed his arms. “Why play along?”
“I wanted to be wrong. You seemed like a decent man with a family you love.”
“I do love them,” Corran replied, voice low and cold. “You’re very unlucky you came this day.”
“She doesn’t know what you really do, does she?”
“And once we’re rid of you, she never will,” Corran said bluntly. “Our war doesn’t concern her.”
“And the children?”
Corran’s grey eyes clouded like thunderstorms, his lips drawn into a snarl. “You’ll never touch them.”
They both leapt, chairs clattering to the ground. Alberic reached for his lance while Corran moved with preternatural speed to the sideboard, pulling a hidden blade he managed to raise in time to block Alberic’s swing.
The house was torn and broken as they fought, Alberic barely able to acknowledge the damage as they threw each other against walls and through furnishings. Corran had an advantage with his shorter blade in the cramped space, but Alberic was a far more practiced fighter. If he could get hold of a sword--or better disarm Corran of his--then the heretic would soon be at his mercy.
He finally saw his moment, spinning his lance to baffle Corran’s blade before using his more heavily armored frame to knock the taller man through a door and into what had to be the master bedroom.
The sword went sliding the opposite way down the hall, and Corran laughed bitterly.
“Give it up, Striker,” Alberic said, pointing his lance. He could see Corran’s waist and legs, but the broken door obscured his head. “Tell me about the coming attack!”
Corran's laugh only continued, growing deeper and more growling. Alberic’s eyes widened as he saw Corran’s body jerk, bones cracking and skin tearing, swelling as scales overtook skin.
He swung to drive his lance down through the man as a roar shook the windows, and through the back wall an aevis tore its way inside, the colorfully bordered window panes shattering across the bedding. The dragon leapt at Alberic, and he swung up, barely blocking the creature’s jaws from clamping onto his still helm-less head as they skid down the hall from the momentum of its impact.
Alberic managed to roll out of the way as the aevis let loose a gout of flame, the fire catching on broken furniture. It came for him again but he had made it to his feet, dashing back toward the kitchen for room to move. The aevis lunged at him as Alberic braced himself, a heel against the base of the sink.
His lance caught the beast’s chest and with a roar of his own from his Inner Dragon surging forth, he used the dragon’s momentum to pierce it deeper, throwing it over his shoulder and halfway through the large window, more bright glass breaking as the thing flailed, screaming flames across the yard as it bled out around the lance through it.
Alberic had no time to retrieve his weapon as Corran came for him, tearing apart the walls to fit his new bulk through them to get to the dragoon. He was larger than most transformations Alberic had seen, a heavy red wyvern, powerful and burning, his eyes filled with the same intelligence they had held as a man.
Alberic swore and dove out of the way of claws longer than his own hands. He managed to duck and roll under and past Corran and back into the hallway, needing the smaller space to disadvantage the dragon. Assuming said dragon didn’t just shoulder the walls out of his way, his fiery head rearing back to blast Alberic.
He barely managed to dodge, the heat unbearable as the walls with their pretty flower paint warped, melted, and crisped in the heat, flames now filling the house. He couldn’t last in here much longer, but also couldn’t let this fight further endanger the rest of the village, the commotion surely drawing attention, though any other knights would be too far away while Corran likely had more allies nearby.
His feet hit more metal that clattered, and he remembered Corran’s sword. As the beast came for him again, Alberic ducked to retrieve it, rolling in low as Corran leaped at him. With another shout, Alberic swung up, sliding along the floor on his knees as Corran passed overhead, the sword slicing down the wyvern’s side.
Corran screeched, landing heavily against the door in a tangle, blood flowing freely, wings and talons unable to get purchase in the too small space.
Alberic breathed heavily as he stood and hurried into the kitchen. The aevis was still jerking through its death throes, making a pathetic, pained cry as he yanked his lance from it, more blood pumping onto the sink and floor.
Alberic returned to the hall. Corran watched him, panting himself, lifesblood pooling around him as smoke filled the air.
“Finish me,” the dragon rumbled, in something resembling Corran’s voice. “But I want a promise first.”
“A promise?” Alberic asked. “Why should I pledge aught to a heretic?”
A weary claw gestured, holding a limp, blood-covered ragdoll. Alberic went cold. “For...them. They’re innocent. But we both know...Inquisitors….”
Alberic coughed as he shivered. They wouldn’t care that the children were only children. They wouldn’t care if Mistress Striker was Thavnairian--if anything, that would make it worse for her, no matter if she truly was unaware of her husband’s sins.
“Maybe...she’ll take them home,” Corran said. “She misses it. They could have…Not this.” His eyes met Alberic’s.
They were the grey eyes of a man.
Alberic nodded. “I promise,” he answered, as he pushed his lance through the wyvern’s heart. “Your family won’t pay for your sins.”
When he opened his smoke-stung eyes again, the dragon was gone, Corran Striker’s lifeless form before him, eyes colorless glass, smiling in relief.
Alberic considered for a moment, then drug Corran’s body toward the heaviest flames devouring the house, throwing him into the fire. With luck it would be so burned as to obscure how he had truly died, if Alberic was to keep his reckless promise.
The aevis in the kitchen was dead finally. Alberic retrieved the correspondence knocked to the floor during the scuffle, and gritting his teeth, threw all but one sheet into the flame as well; there was mention of a tower. If nothing else he could salvage something from this mess.
The heat and smoke were too much now, and people outside were shouting and trying to put out the flames, a woman screaming as she glimpsed the dragon half-hanging from the kitchen.
Alberic stumbled outside, battered and bloodied, and fell unconscious at the feet of the Strikers’ neighbors.
—————
It took only a few eye blinks before Aeryn’s groan echoed Alberic’s from a moment before. X’rhun tried to call to her, but she was on her feet in the next eye blink. She whirled in Alberic’s direction, braid whipping so quickly the end came back around to strike her cheek, unnoticed. Her eyes were a storm, lightning crackling in them.
Alberic did not move. He distantly realized that there was nothing any of the three of them could do to stop her of all people.
She flung herself forward and he took the weight of her body slamming into his, her hands gripping at his coat.
That was all.
Alberic didn’t dare move as she trembled against him, head down. X’rhun and Heustienne watched, breath held. Perhaps they had realized the same thing he had.
"I'd forgotten the windows,” Aeryn said hoarsely. “They were almost new; a Starlight gift from him, for Mama."
Alberic said nothing. What could he say?
“You didn’t tell me.”
He sighed. It took a moment to make sound. “By the time I’d realized who you were, why you were so familiar...Well, we had that mess with Estinien and neither of us were in any shape for more terrible revelations. Not the easiest thing to tell a girl you’re the man that killed her father, regardless of the why. And...If the Inquisition, the Ward, if any of them had found out…”
“I’d have handled them,” she said. Neutral, a matter of fact. She wasn’t one to boast.
“Perhaps,” he said. “I thought...Your mother took you to Thavnair. You would have a life there, away from the war. I never expected you to return. To be...this.”
“You should have told me.”
“I know. And you know I’m a sentimental, craven fool.”
She laughed, a wild, bitter noise, finally looking up. Her eyes locked with his, and he thought for as much as she looked like her mother, her eyes were too much like her father’s.
“X’rhun, can you make sure Heustienne gets back to Anyx Trine?” She said, not breaking her gaze with Alberic. The storm still rumbled in her eyes, but all he could see was old smoke.
“Of course,” the Seeker answered. “Aeryn—”
“I’m going home,” she said, shoving Alberic away. He staggered, barely managing to keep his footing. She was stronger than she looked. “I need time to think and rest.”
“You mean Revenant’s Toll, yes?” X’rhun demanded, tail still lashing.
Aeryn only nodded once as she retrieved her pack from next to Heustienne.
“Call me via ‘pearl when you arrive,” X’rhun insisted.
She paused for a moment, then nodded again, shouldering her pack and walking away.
“What the seven hells am I missing?” Heustienne asked after they watched Aeryn’s red coat vanish among the hills. “What did she see? What did you do?”
“Later,” X’rhun said, helping her to her feet. “Let’s get back to something resembling civilization first; Avengret’s heretics may still be on the trail.”
Alberic said nothing, simply following along as they made their way across the wilderness.

I Will Leave You Words- Kaz Brekker
Summary- A young boy and girl, met in the darkest valley, away from each other, to see the stars and moon. When they caught a glimpse of each other, they exchange and left some few words for each other.
Tumblr media
gif is by @crowbrekker <3 so.... this is my first kaz brekker fanfic so pls be considerate lmao and my first post in tumblr, for that matter. idk i had this idea in my head so i decided to make a tumblr account in the middle of the night :) fanfic’s inspired by Je te laisserai des mots- patrick watson’s song and I LOVE IT SM AND I NEED ANGST. + i’m still half way of the books so this might be a lil ooc so sorry anyways here we go!! (i changed the age of kaz when they moved to ketterdam so instead he and jordie moved in ketterdam around the age of 5 and not 9)
What such good lies it was what came out of your mouth. Love, the most unexpected thing for such Grisha like you. A Tidemaker, and a powerful one. Your parents had died when you were a kid, and you were taken to the Darkling’s services. Such good power like yours needs help. He’d told you. You, being a scared and naive girl at the moment, didn’t see the evilness in his grey eyes, and you let him train you. For years you were in his army, fighting.
But you wouldn’t forget your life before your parents had died. You were all living in Ketterdam, and it may not be the best place to live when you are a runaway Grisha, but it was alright for you, it’d felt like home, or how you define home is.
Your parents were runaway Grishas; Inferni and Heartrender. They did not want to be a part of the war, and so they run, ran with their powerful Tidemaker child, you because they knew Darkling would want you to be in his side if he ever finds you, and that will certainly not be happening as long as your parents breathe.
While you were staying in Ketterdam, your family had lived in a small apartment, inside the shadows where no one can find you easily. You weren’t allowed to go out seeing as Ketterdam was dangerous, and your parents were the only ones to go out to get some money and food.
You obliged their orders and stayed in your apartment. The apartment was small, but it was still neat for one to live in. Whilst your apartment was located on one of the darkest alleys of Ketterdam, your apartment was tall, yet small, enough that you could see the stars twinkling underneath the shining moonlight, You’d rest your little cheeks on your smalls window and stare at it, the longing, sad stars reflecting back on your kind and tired eyes.
And then, all of the sudden, you had found a boy, lost and scared, on the alleys of your apartment. You were fast and logical enough to hide underneath your table; Remember, my child, Ketterdam and its people is not one you would trust. This man was a stranger and was probably just lost. So she hid.
She stayed there until the boy seemingly climbs to the top of the others apartment roof; using its back stairs. There the boy sat quietly and comfortably, watching the stars. You blinked, why would a young boy, your age, climb up one rooftop just to watch the stars?
You never knew why, but the boy’s name was Kaz Brekker, and his mother would sometimes take him on top of the highest grounds near their farm to watch the shooting stars. He seemingly turns around when you were peaking out the window, staring at him in awe.
He’d stared back, and he had smiled at you. You froze and felt your cheeks hit up as you subconsciously. closed your windows and flopped on your small bed.
That was the start of the nights you’d see him. And you kept seeing him.
Je te laisserai des mots     I’ll leave you words
For over the years, he’d go to the alley of your apartment, to watch the stars. You guys were now 8, kids who met at 5, and you started to interact with each other for over 3 years. You’d been able to sneak out when your parents weren’t home, and lay a note on the ground of the rooftops, and wait until the unknown boy would be there, and he, too, would leave you a note of words and poems and dreams.
“Do you like the stars, too?”   “Stars are wonderful, don’t you think?”   “Yes! I’m Y/N L/N!”    “Well, hello, I’m Kaz Rietvield.”
Every wakening of the breezing nights, you kids would interact with each other by sending little notes to each other, every night in your 3 years of friendship. You, still yet not allowed to explore the world and was only ever inside your apartment, would send him waves and smiles that could light up the world in distance. He’d blushed, look back at the stars, and would read your letters. Your smile could light up the world, seeing as it lit up his life.
Living in Ketterdam as orphans weren’t easy. Jordie Rietvield, his beloved brother he’d told you about in one of his letters, was going back and forth to jobs, just to keep them alive. Jordie had sent Kaz off to school as he works. Kaz, after schools, would go sit by the rooftop right opposite where Y/N’s window is and would leave her notes about his day.
Everything was alright in their little world. Until it wasn’t.
Y/N’s parents were dead. They caught the Queen’s Plague. It seems as though Kaz Rietvield and Jordie Rietvield had, too. The last time she’d seen them was when they were taking their bodies out on the ocean.
You’d cried. He was dead. Her friend from the other sides of the stars and darkness was dead.
You snuck off a ship headed towards Ravka, and when you were sent off to Keramzin, you had been tested as a Grisha and was taken to Os Alta, where they trained you in combat and how to use your Tidemaker magic- or science- or whatever, you never really cared. As for Darkling, he’d become your mentor, like a father. He’d tell you stories he uses to know when he was a kid and will help you in your Tidemaker skills.
En sous de ta porte     Underneath your door
You were living a good life, but you never forgot the face of one dead person. Kaz Rietvield. You’d still send letters on Ketterdam, even if it was pointless to send letters to a dead man. You always addressed it to that apartment and made sure the letters were sent. You were being crazy; sending notes to someone who would never. . . no, who could never, again, read your letters, your stories, your dreams, and the stars.
After the wars of Ravka, you travelled around the world, in disguise, still. You is still yet to trust everyone after what happened to the Darkling. After you went to different places of the world, your last destination was Ketterdam, the home of the lost, the home of the stars, and your home.
En sous de la lune qui chante    Underneath the singing moon
Whilst you were in the ship headed towards Ketterdam, you were looking at the sea, where your parents’ and a certain young boy’s body now lied within. You slowly bent down, the tip of your nails touching the seawater as you started to play with it, tears forming on your eyes. You were in the middle of the ocean, above was the moon, and you started singing for the lonely, peaceful moon.
It wasn’t great to be back on the sea of the dead beloved ones.
When you arrived at Ketterdam, the first thing you had noticed was it was darker, now as dark as the once alley of your apartment where you- Again, there it was again, thinking about the dead. Everything seems to remind you of him.
And so, you went straight to that alley of where you lived, seeing it pitched black. Of course. You’d grinned. You looked up at the starry sky and see the twinkling eyes you once dreamed of seeing again in your Ravka days. It feels good to be back.
Tout près de la place où tes pieds passent     Near the place where your feet pass by
You stayed in the middle of that alley, not noticing a dark shadow watching you over your apartment’s roof. That shadow seemingly furrowed their eyebrows when you decided to walk to the stairs of your neighbors' house, where you dreamed of going to just to see a certain boy.
Because of the dark, starry nights years ago, you never truly saw what he looked like, but you knew he had ebony hair, and a smile you will never once forget.
When you arrived, you saw that your letter wasn’t there, and started to look everywhere, eventually climbing on the rooftop. There it was in front of you, the most beautiful shooting stars you’d ever seen. Wow, you thought. This was the best view of the stars in Ketterdam, no wonder he chose to pick this spot. You smiled to yourself, looking at your apartment’s window, seeing it empty. You smiled sadly, imagining your old self looking back at you, the orange light behind you making your whole body more noticeable. And then you realized, that boy knows how you looked like, but you don’t even know how he looks like.
You eventually left that valley. You decided to go to the place where they delivered letters around the world until you passed a club, a dark but loud club.
   The Crow Club.
The Crow Club. That’s a funny name, you’d thought. You went inside and heard people gambling, drinking, and just having fun. You smiled to yourself, even in that pain and suffering you felt and saw 2 years ago, in the war, you were still the girl you once were.
You decided to go to the bar side of the club and ordered a drink. You tied your magical hair in a low ponytail as you waited for your drink until a Zemeni man had appeared beside you.
“And what’s a pretty lady doing here, all alone?” The Zemeni tried to flirt with you, adjusting his coat and ordering a drink.
You smiled kindly at him, taking your drink as you look at him, “Thanks for the flattery, Zemeni. Y/N.” she said.
The boy smirked at you, “Jesper Fahey, at your service.”  he winked playfully again. You did not notice five sets of eyes looking directly at you and one boy whose eyes stayed on yours for the rest of the night.
He remembers. He remembered all of it. Your letters. Your dreams. Your hair. Your smile. Your eyes. The stars. . . all of it. He didn’t need a reason, but when it comes to you, he had every reason why you were the most amazing and spectacular girl ever.
His crows found your letters scattered on Kaz’s table when they were planning their Ice Court Heist, and he was forced to tell them who you were, (after some death glances and threatening threats.) He remembers it all like it was yesterday.
Kaz Brekker also remembers that day, when he was alone in the sea, the body of his brother dead, as he thought of you to keep him calm, as he thought of you. . . as he made you his reason to live.
When he was back ashore, Jordie had haunted him, and he couldn’t go back to you anymore, not knowing you had already left. And so, years later, when he’d finally become Kaz Brekker, Dirtyhands, the Bastard of the Barrel, he came back to that dark alley, seeing all your letters from Ravka.
Caché dans les trous de temps d’hiver    Hidden in the holes of wintertime
He kept all of it. Hidden. Safe. It was his one memory of you, and if that letters got destroyed, you would only be living in Kaz’s head, full of memories of Jordie and revenge, and he couldn’t bear to make that happen.
Kaz never replied. You were safe. Alive. And that is what he wants.
Until he saw you in the bar, until his brown eyes looked into your Y/E/C’s. Until he saw you, truly, not the girl hiding behind her window. Until he saw you close. Until you were finally there.
And yet, Kaz still felt like you were stars and oceans away from each other. Maybe it was always like that. Darkness and distance in between you and him. Maybe it was bound to happen, either way.
But Kaz didn’t want to believe that, and he actually convinced himself that he was cursed, never to loved, and to be loved. The memories of Jordie came flooding in, the water drowning him again.
Until you looked back at him with that smile of yours he used to remember. One that reminded him of the stars. One that reminded him of a boy that once loved the stars and one girl who also loved the stars.
You furrowed your eyebrows at him, and Inej Ghafa, his wraith, who was sitting across from Nina Zenik, planning the heist, looked at the frozen man on the stairs.
She smiled softly; she knew you. Kaz would always send her to get some important letters of his on a dark alley, where you were an hour ago, and she saw you.
Kaz was still looking at you. And you were looking at him. Now, the water was gone, Jordie’s haunting eyes were gone, and it was just you. And your wonderful smile.
Et quand tu es seule pendant un instant     And when you’re alone for a moment
Unbeknownst to you, you didn’t know he was the infamous Kaz Brekker, named like a boy you once knew, Kaz Rietvield, but you didn’t need to know that. He didn’t need you to know that. Kaz Brekker would fall if you left him again, and so, he approached you after composing himself.
He was Kaz Brekker and you were Y/N L/N. Not Kaz Rietvield and Y/N L/N.
Kaz promised to himself he would send you notes and letters, but he couldn’t find himself to do so. He didn’t want you seeing the boy who had once loved the starry sky, now a monster full of revenge. A greedy man of power and money.
He wanted you to remember that boy you met years ago to be the same boy. Kaz Rietvield was dead, Brekker wasn’t.
“Would you leave me words, too? ‘Cause I feel like I’m the only one contributing to this friendship.”   “I promise, then. I will leave you words as you do.”   “Hooray! Now, look at the stars! It’s a new one! The brightest!”
I will leave you words. You and Rietvield promised each other, but not Brekker. Oh, no. This was another love story to tell in another lifetime.

INEFFABLE - Kaz Brekker
ineffable (adj.) too great to be expressed in words, utterly indescribable; too sacred to speak of.
Chapter Fourteen
The next morning, the Crows had made it back to the train that took them through the Fold. They were lying on their stomachs behind their carriage, watching out into the field. Elham could feel that Kaz’s body was tense next to hers, and she scooted closer to Inej, her side touching Inej’s. Inej didn’t seem to notice the movement, although Kaz seemed to relax a bit.
“How many are there?”
Kaz looked closer out into the field, scanning the area around the train for men. “Two. At some point at least one of them will have to go tell a superior what they found. We’ll go in then.”
Jesper turned to the Crows on his right. “Not to be that person, Kaz, but...are you sure you can drive that thing?”
Kaz looked certain, and he sounded exasperated, as if Jesper’s lack of faith in him was unjustified. “Yes.”
Elham rolled her eyes, mumbling. “Because you’ve driven a train before, yeah, I’m sure you’ve got this.”
He ignored her, turning to Jesper. “On the way to Kribirsk, while you were busy hugging bait--”
Jesper interrupted. “Milo. The goat’s name was Milo.”
“I was memorizing Arken’s timings.”
Inej looked uncertain. “Not to gang up on you, but, Jes has a point. Arken’s system was complicated and the ride was chaotic. No one would blame you for missing a count.”
Elham and Kaz both turned their heads, simultaneously speaking. “Jes?”
Jesper smiled. “It’s Suli, for friendship.”
Elham scoffed. “I may not know much Suli, but I can guarantee it’s not. Or is Jes, here, right, Inej?”
Kaz didn’t let her respond. “Trust me. Arken and I think alike.”
Elham chuckled. “Saints, I sure hope not.”
Before Kaz could respond, an explosion went off, and the Crows turned to watch the train go up in flames.
Elham suddenly couldn’t control her laughter, setting her forehead on her arms rested out in front of her.
“Of course.”
Jesper turned to her. “Too soon to appreciate the irony, am I right?”
Kaz ducked his head down, closing his eyes, jaw clenched. Elham noticed the movement next to her and murmured quietly next to him.
“Hey, it’s ok. We’ll figure it out, Kaz. There has to be another way across...and if there’s not, I’m not opposed to Jesper’s idea of opening up a bar and brewing beer. I could be a barmaid, yeah?”
Jesper chuckled. “You? A barmaid?”
“Beats being Heleen’s little fawn, right? Besides, I’d be a good barmaid.”
He was still laughing, but the humor had left. “Yeah, you’d be just about as good of a barmaid as you’d be Queen of the Barrel. And stop joking about Heleen, alright? It’s not funny.”
Elham smiled at him sadly. “If I don’t laugh, I’ll cry, Jesper.”
His face was full of pity, and she turned away, looking back down at her hands resting on her arms. Inej leaned closer, brushing her shoulder against Elham’s.
“I think you’d make a good Queen.”
Kaz finally spoke up, the ghost of a grin on his face. “A dangerous one, at least. I’d hate to be under your reign.”
Elham glanced up at him, smiling. “I’d spare you. Probably. I’d at least consider it.”
He rolled his eyes, standing up, motioning for the Crows to follow.
---
The Crows used the last of their money to get a room, and Kaz had spent the last half hour trying to figure out what to do. Elham took this time to practice with her new sword, Jesper duelling her with a piece of wood he had found.
He was out of breath, flailing around the room. “This isn’t fair, you know? You have a nice sword, I have a stick. You’re literally called the Valkyrie, this is not a Jesper talent, why can’t we use guns?”
“Stop whining, Jesper, you’re fine. Keep going, I need the practice.”
Kaz scoffed in his chair, almost laughing. “No, you don’t.”
Inej came in, clearly amused by Jesper being chased around the room. She turned to Kaz.
“The skiff is still here. Travelers downstairs are complaining. They were due to cross this morning.”
Kaz nodded. “Orders from the Black General. He plans to cross on it tomorrow.”
Jesper stopped running, holding his hands up in surrender. “The General? Is that the same general who tried to, oh yeah, kill us all? And use Elham to build a literal flaming wall of fire and darkness? That one?”
“He has the Sun Summoner.”
Elham turned to look at Kaz, face contorted in confusion. How did he know that? And why hadn’t he told her? Was there anything she could have done to stop it, to protect Alina? Inej stepped closer to her, clearly upset.
“Was this your plan all along? To have the General get her back so you can take her again?
“My plan is to get us across the Fold. We aren’t prepared for another fight.”
Inej raised a brow. “So you’re not going to take another run at Alina? And you’re really willing to let a million kruge go? All you want is to cross the Fold?”
Kaz grumbled, but nodded, standing up.
Jesper stepped forward. “Hang on. Are we talking about boarding a skiff with people who will recognize us? People who don’t like us much?”
Kaz pondered, turning to Inej. “We’ll have to blend in. Who else was on that skiff?”
“Some people from the winter fete. Dignitaries from Kerch and Novyi Zem on their way home.”
He raised a brow. “And now they’re audience to one more light show.”
He was silent for a moment, and Elham swore she could almost hear the gears turning in his head. She leaned closer to Jesper, whispering.
“Scheming face?”
He nodded, whispering back. “Scheming face. We’re not gonna like this, are we?”
Kaz finally spoke. “Jesper, how did you enjoy playing a Zemeni guard?”
---
By nightfall, a plan was set in motion. Inej was perched atop a balcony, waiting to signal Elham. Elham waited until she got a nod from Inej, and turned to see a group of men walking her way. Kaz and Jesper came out of the alley behind them, walking slowly.
Elham approached the group of men, a smile on her face. “Excuse me, sir?”
One of the men stepped forward, smiling. “Yes, miss?”
Elham smiled, moving closer to the man like she was going to tell him a secret. He leaned in and waited. She set her hands on his shoulders, lightly gripping at his coat. She could hear the man's friends chuckling behind him. Before he could speak, she drove her knee up into his gut, sending him bending over and stumbling to the ground, clutching his stomach. She delivered a quick kick to his face, and he was out cold.
The man’s friends quickly scrambled to their friends' side, checking to see if he was ok. “You bitch, what did you do that for?”
One of them stood to move towards her, and she gripped the hilt of her sword, but Kaz and Jesper beat her to it. Kaz used his cane, Jesper used the base of his pistol, and they both swung at the same time, each taking out one of the remaining men, knocking them unconscious.
Jesper smiled, bending down to grab one of the men under his shoulders. “Nice job, love. “
He turned to Kaz, who hadn’t moved. “Are you gonna help?”
Kaz just swung his cane up into his grip, holding it up for Jesper to see. Elham rolled her eyes.
“Oh. Well isn’t that convenient for you? Elham...please?”
She sighed, grumbling. She hooked her arms under the smallest looking man, lugging him up. “Fine! Only because I nearly cut you earlier and I’m still feeling slightly guilty.”
“That was a very close call, by the way, I think you still owe me.”
“Jesper! I’ll drop him!”
“Fine, fine. Come on.”
---
Ten minutes later, Jesper had successfully stripped one of the men from his outfit, placing it on himself. He was admiring himself in the mirror, smoothing down his coat.
Inej was rolling her eyes. “You look fine.”
“Oh, I look more than fine.”
Without looking up from the papers Kaz was fabricating, he handed Elham the dress she had worn at the fete.
She grabbed it from him. “You’re not serious? Why does Inej get to wear the cool coat and I’m stuck in a dress again?”
“Because. We’re blending in. You’re supposed to look nice, like the rest of the wives who came from the winter fete will.”
Elham peeked out from the corner she had ducked behind to change. “Wives?”
“You’re playing Jesper’s.”
Jesper grinned, turning to Elham. “My love! I must say, I do like you in a dress.”
Elham grumbled, stepping out from the corner, once again in the dress. “First your wife, now Jesper’s, why do your plans always involve me playing a wife?”
Inej chuckled. “He had you play his wife? I would have loved to see that. You already argue like an old married couple, it wouldn’t be that much of a change.”
Elham’s cheeks heated up, and she suddenly found the fabric of her dress very interesting, fiddling with it. Kaz finally looked up from his papers, quickly changing the subject.
“Just be happy I’m letting you keep that sword strapped to your back. If they ask why you have it, just say you bought it in town as a souvenir or gift or something, and that you don't want it damaged in the cargo hold. I’m sure you can think of something dramatic enough that one of those pampered wives would say before causing a scene their husband would have to buy their way out of.
Before Elham could come up with something sarcastic as a rebuttal, he continued. “Alright, I made some edits to the papers. Should be enough to get us through the checkpoint and onto the skiff.”
Jesper leaned forward, looking confused at his paper. “Huh? No one is ever going to believe I’m that old.”
Kaz only looked up at him. “You tell yourself that.”
Jesper scoffed, clearing his throat and stomping off. Kaz smirked, looking back down at his papers. Inej smiled, and Elham called after Jesper dramatically.
“It’s alright, my love! I like older men!”
He called back to her, huffing. “Shut up Elham!”
---
The Crows were now in line to board the skiff, papers in hand.
The guard at the table spoke. “Consider yourselves lucky. You’re traveling with the Black General and the Sun Summoner, which means you’re about to witness the destruction of the Fold.”
Elham mumbled under her breath, stepping up closer in line. “Yes, I’m so lucky to be boarding with people who want to kill me, very excited to be here, honestly.”
Jesper stepped up to the guard, handing him his papers along with Elham’s. She stood at his side with her arm linked through his, smiling. The guard looked over the papers, glancing up questionably.
Jesper smiled. “I know. I look amazing for my age.”
The guard shook his head, handing them back. “Well, I thought you looked older.”
Jesper let out a pained laugh, and Elham hid her smile, grabbing his hand. “Come on, love.”
They headed to the skiff, when the crowd started whispering amongst themselves, glancing behind them. The Crows turned to see Alina emerge from the tent, a black cloak engulfing her. The Darkling followed closely behind, scanning the area.
Elham quickly turned back around, seething. “Please let me kill him.”
Kaz scoffed, using his cane to push her forward. “Not a chance...well, at least not today. I’ll consider it again later.”
---
They boarded the skiff, quickly moving to the back, hiding in the shadows, away from Alina and the Darkling at the front.
Jesper spoke quietly. “ Good news? It’s just as terrifying as I remember.”
Elham turned to him. “How is that good news? We’re completely exposed.”
Growling was heard in the distance as the Fold drew closer, and Elham felt her heart sink.
Jesper sighed. “If I’m meant to die today, and one of you survives, make sure I have an open casket.”
Elham gripped Jesper’s hand, giving it a squeeze. Kaz kept his eyes locked on the Darkling.
“No one’s dying today. No mourners, eh, Creed?”
Elham grimly smiled at him, and the Crows replied in unison. “No funerals.”
The skiff plunged into darkness.

The Asylum
Synopsis: The U.A was a known Asylum. Known of being the current house for the most dangerous persons with the most tragocs backstorys and trauma. An universe where quirls dont exist, but heroes take the places of doctors, students are trainers and of course; villains are the pacients.
I am planning to do for all the boys I write and Shigaraki version of it (surprise shiggy stans!) Let me know if you would be interested.
Kai Chisaki:
You are currently a new doctor that the Asylum recide to take under their wing. Obviously not to good intentions. Since there is a pacient no one seems to even dare to croos his dorm room... so will you be able to tame the beast?
Tumblr media
The limo you were in along with Nezu and the famous doctor Toshinori Yagi along with his aprendice Izuku Midoriya was sorta of glamorous... too much to your own point of view. But how could you point that out? Espevially to the ones whose kindly offered a job as soon as you got your graduation.
You were viewed as the "too kind and sensitive" to be a doctor or a psychologist, yet you still remained your ground and got your degree! And was now facing the kind hearted doctor Toshinoru himself! He was the most respected and talented doctora of all Japan, who just couldn't admire him?
The car came to an stop and Nezu gaze a hearted chickle after finsihing his cup of tea, which didn't even dropped a drop of the drink, before smilling at you as Toshinori and Midoriya helped you out.
"You two are too kind!" You spoke as the boy blushed crinsom red and laughed nervously as Nezu caught your attention.
"(L/n)-san, uou must know that despite us having the best of security measures, evil persons live on here and they can and some even will hurt you. Poor Midoriya-kun had to deal with a teenage girl around his age last week and almost got stabbed."
You widened your eyes as you saw by thhe corner of your eye the poor boy shivering at the memory as Yagi patted him by the head with a nervous chuckle.
You followed Nezu when he entered the building and found the place surprisingly intact even if hearing some shouts, psyotic laughter here and there..
"Im so sorry to not introduce the place for you (L/n)-san, but I have not only young Midoriya here but also another "student" to take care of." The man laughed as you smiled up at the man.
"I understand. Having onterns at such a young age must give some work." The blonde chuckled as he waved while Midoriya wished you a good first day at work before Nezu called you to stand beside him on a elevator and pressing the button to go down.
The number of the monitor, indicating the floors, were lowering as you arched an eyebrows until you jumped at hearing nezu giggling.
"We have floors that indicate which state our pacients mental health is... the lower the floor, the more these expecific pacients of oura need desperately for help."
"I see..." you picked your bag and took out the paste that only had the name and doccuments of your future pacient... Chisaki Kai.
A man around 20 and 25 years old that was a surgeon once, raised by a mafia boss. After being catched of by police for trying to make an unknown and forbided drug he was arrested. His adopted father had gotten ill and eventually put into a coma... in desperate to gain some blood for the elder the only with the compatible blood type of his father was his nephew... it seems that he had almost taken the blood of the girl by force due to desperation after he got out of prison...
Not even succeding on helping the old man, he got send to the Asylum after the acussation of his poor mental state. He got into a physical and heavy fight coincidentally with another pacient of here, and lost both of his arms.
He seemed also to have some sorta of OCD. His mysophobia being so advantege that not even if he comes to contact with dirty places, but even if he felt nervous or angry, hives would appear on his skin... also suffered from PTSD attacks and was paranoid, seing figures of assasinans and monster of four arms after the loss of his father and own members...
This patient is considerated one of the mosy dangerous around here even if missing both arms, now aparently substitute by prosthetics..
NOW you knew why anyone hasn't been very fond of him... the man had beaten up three of his previous doctors and almost send one to heaven.
The sound of your gulp got mixed with the ones of the doors of the elevator opening and Nezu menyioning for you to follow him on the hall.
The entire hall was super and almost shinning clean as you walked through it.
"As you saw on his file. Chisaki has a serious matter with dirt, even going as far as to almost beat our janitor after finding a piece of fry lying on the cafeteria. After that, he reveives his meal only on his room in hopes je doesn't cause such a tragity like before..."
"I see he is pretty... demanding." You muttered as Nezu stopped by a door made of Iron as he searched for a key.
"Surely, not even one of his doctors got the chance to knowing kore than his files, so I wish you to be the lucky one." The man smiled at you before pushing the door.
"... who is it?" The voice came from the darkest part of the room and you saw a hunched over form after squinting your eyes hard enough. The voice was deep and low kinda sexy even
"Chisaki. I have the honor to present you the doctor (L/n) (Y/n)-"
"Ah, another doctor I see." It came as a scratchy sigh, his head lifting up to reveal a man with gorgeous golden dull eyes and brow hair similiar to the woods of a pine, his skin pale amd the prosthetics arms shine the light of the halls back into your eyes.
This was against your own code.... but damn this man was hot.
"Is.. a pleasure to meet-"
"Lets see how much long will you last..." he said with a empty smirk before falling back to his stoic and empty expression, staring at the wall and demanding for you both to get out.
Nezu sighed as he accompanied you to outside and looked at you expectedly.
"... I think I can deal with him. He doesn't sound too bad as his files give away." You smiled at Nezu as he gave a rather relieved sigh and shook your hand in glee.
"Great! Your consulta will hlbe in his room witha bodyguard waiting outside to provide you security as he will be handcuffed for extra care."
You frowned at that as the man handed you the key and accompanied you for an tour around the whole building... Handcuffed? This was a bit extreme...
Wasn't it?
.
.
.
You breathed in and out as the guard was already set on post to watch over. Turning the key to open and quickly close it as instricted by other doctors and collegues.
"Hello." You greeted softly while closing the door as he stared at the table he was handcuffed with "I believe we didn't had a much pleasurable start due to Nezu there..." you seated on ths chair in front of him as he gritted his jaw.
It was silence for a bit as you sighed in sympathy.
"Listen, I have nothing here. Neither to hurt or touch you. I also took at least three showers before coming here to talk with you. I was rather excited to be honest." You smiled at him as he only arched an eyebrow up, still stoic expression.
"Foolish." He gritted through teeth as you tilted your head in confusion "You heard of me getting three people at least to the verge of death... Tell me, how cam you defend yourself from me?" His voice lowered dangerously but you still remained grounded. Surprisingly not even feeling scared.
"You mean also from the... monsters?" You saw how his muscles tightened as his eyes widened at you before narrowing them deep into your soul.
"Dont play like that. I know no one can see them... is just me."
"Well, that is true..." you leaned a bit towards him "But that doesn't mean I cant just try to understand you."
"Is that supposed to make me laugh? I dont need this stupid shit." He hissed while glaring at you.
"I suppose... but when was the last time you talked with someone though?"
It was silent... then he just sighed a bit shakily before starting to scratch the upper part of his arm...
"Get out. Now." You hummed, eviting to giggle at the shocked face he tried to hide at sieng you actually was leaving after he demanded.
"I will be back by tommorow then. Have a nice day Chisaki." You left the room and was inspected by the guard for any form of bruises or injuries and yhey were impressed.
"You're the first one that didn't got injured with that guy over there..."
"I think i just might be getting somewhere with him if I try hard enough."
.
.
.
Slowly but surely you got to talk with Chisaki. He still remained reserved most of the time, but as soon as you brought up the topic of a mess on the first floor was enough to make him complain about the quality of this place.
It wasn't exactly a start... but you did needed to get some sorta of trust of him on you.
One day you were about to enter the room and saw the episode everyone warned you about. His hallucinations.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" you dodged the table he threw with all the force he had near the door as you closed immediatly when you heard the bodyguard calling for others to help put Chisaki on a straightjacket.
"Get out! Get OUT! GET OUT OF HERE!" he shouted at the top of his lungs as he lunched the air and walls as you watched in wary and worry in your eyes as you tried to aproach safetly from behind.
"Chisaki-" you gasped when he almost punched you if it wasn't for your good reflexes "Chisaki listen to me!"
Ee only let out a bloody scream as he tried with all his forces to attack you before he caged you by the wall as you gagged at the metal hand on your throat.
"Chisaki.. im not here to hurt you-!" You tried to push more air into your lungs as he growled.
You tapped his shoulder out of desperation and immediatly gasped for air as he jerked away from your touch, blinking as if he had just woken up as you coughed.
When you opwned your eyes and saw him standing up, looking at you in shock you sighed in relief while getting up.
"H.. How? How did you make him to..?" He whispered while looking around the room in desperation "H-He was just... here-! He was HERE!" He shouted, his anger coming back as you walked towards him.
"Chisaki.." his amber and wrathful eyes looked into yours as you asked softly "What was in here?"
"It was.." he looked at the ground comflicted before grasping his hair with a groan "No no.. cant be... CANT BE! HE ISN'T HERE!"
"Who isn't here? Chisaki?"
"MY IDIOT FATHER!" he shouted "HAPPY NOW DOCTOR?!"
You widened your eyes as he breathed in shakily before dropping on the ground and crossing his arms to support his head.
"But... why would your-"
"Not the one in my files..." he groaned before looking at the wall numbily "My biological shitty one... an abuser. Use that to get a promotoon or whatever brat.. just leave me alone."
You furrowed your eyebrows down at him. Your heart speaking louder than your mind as you gently aproached him and seated next to him, maintaning enough distance to mantain him on a comfortable state.
"... I thought you didn't remember your biological parents." You commented as he linched the bridge of his nose.
"How could you forget someone that made your childhood a living hell?" He breathed out "I dont even know why I am even telling you this..."
"... let me guess.. abusive?" You spoke with sadness as he chuckled darkly.
"Pitying a sociopath and murder now doctor?" He brushed his fangs away "Don't. Is pathetic."
"Abusive." You confirmed as you stared at the wall he was facing at "Instrict father and negletful mother..?"
"... the man was an arrogant bastard... always beating and just taking away any sorta of ways of basic needs.. while my mother was a selfish women whose always called me a failure. A burden. A mistake... my father on one day was about to beat me up for grabbing something to eat..when I grabbed his gun to defend myself and accidentally shot him... the woman called the police on her own 5 years old child can you imagine that?" You stared at him in sadness.
No one knew his backstory. No one knew anything about him when he was under 12 years old. His archive compeltely erased... and there he was.
"The visions you have... is of him?"
"... a more like fusion or something." He groaned whipe scrwching his face "Has his face but has the arms of a beast... and four arms... other times is that Shigaraki that took my arms... others are my mother just trying to stab me or hold me down while she yells for me to... to behave..." he sighed shakily "Is the session over yet?"
You frowned before slowly aproaching him and taking his metal hand on yours as he widened your eyes.
"Is over.. but if you want i can stay here... to make sure those assholes wont be back." You smiled up at him as he stared at you like you grew three heads.
"I... I believe you have other places to be...?"
".. I enjoy having your company." You smiled again "After all, you dont deserve to be left caged alone.. You're still human after all.."
He stared at you before looking at the wall as you giggled a bit at the tips of his ears getting red as he thought over and over again.
Was he... was he really worth of being called a human?
.

"This new medication here might give some colateral effects, so after taking them i need you to tell me. But asides from that they will releave a but if that itchy feeling of your hives and the other will help a bit with your-"
"Hallucinations" the man completed as he analyzed the bottle only to sigh and open it later "I saw them once in the hospital I worked for."
"Oh I see!" You replied cheerfully at seing an opportunity to talk with him "I know you were an explendid surgeon."
"... kind of. Had almost a heart attack when blood was spilled on my skin now at then. Sicks.." He looked at you snorting before the hint of a smirk started to form only to dissapear as he took the two piles onto his hand.
"Uh.. You need to eat first to take your meds." You warned before he could plop the pills on his mouth... he stared deep into your eyes as he lowered them on a napkin and leaned on his chair while crossing hsi metalic arms.
"Then I guess I wont be taking it. The food of this place is horrible and disgusting. Not as much as my room." You arched an eyebrow at him before furrowing them in worry.
"What? Dont they clean your room? The halls are even shining. And what about the food?"
"Not quite." He sighed "A precary job, and some guards like to come by and dirt the place just to give me a headache... the food is just the same."
You hummed before getting up.
"Well then, I guess I have to grab somethings and demands some changes..."
"Oh, how adorable. You getting my food? Make me laugh some more doctor, Im dying to see it." He spoke on a nonchantly tone as you only poked your tongue out at him before muttering that you would be right back.
To him it seemed like hours you had gotten out and even dared to scold on how slow you must be.
"I brought you what seems to be your favorite! Not the food from the cafeteria, I swear!"
He watched in amusement and accidentaly smiled at seing you there with what was once his favorite food until he flinched at your gasp.
"I see a smile thereeeee!!!!" You pointed at his face repeatedly as he surprisingly gently slapped your hand away while taking the bag.
"You're such a nuisance." He sighed, hating how his mouth drooled.
"I washed the fork."
"But I didn't even-"
"I know you Kai." You giggled before widening your eyes and slapping your hands over your mouth in shock.
His eyes were also wide open as you felt your face heat up.
"Im so sorry! It was so unproffesional this oh my Go-"
"Is..." he interrupted you while looking at the opposite direction of yours "Alright... surprisingly my name doesn't sound... so bad when you speak... doctor."
Your eyes softened a bit as a flustered and quite a happy smile graced over your features that made him blush even more.

"Is impressive!" Toshinori and Nezu exclaimed together as they saw the progress yoh had made with Chisaki only in a matter of months as you giggled. "You're a god send (L/n)-san!"
"Please!" You waved them off in embarrassment.
"No no, none of that young one!" Yagi snorted "We decides to give you a week of vacation after such an amazing progress like that! Starting today!"
"T-Today?!"
"Yeah! Dont worry about your pacient, we will get him a substitute just to make him take the meds."
You didn't had much of a choice since they already send the poor guy over his way.

Two days... two days and you simply wasn't here. Just seing a trembling hand almost throwing the pills at him as he sighed in dissapointment. Two days and he hadn't see the face of his beautiful and pretty doctor of his... he couldn't believe it...but he was so desperately craving them. To hear her voice, to.. even feel his hand brush against hers...
He jerked up when he heard the sound of the door opening, narrowing hus eyes at seing that the doctor whose entered his room, wasn't his doctor.
"U-Uh... I-I'm here to-"
"You're." He standed up from his bed "Not." He walked close to the shivering doctor "my (Y/n)."
Before he knew it, he saw visions of you being handed and taken away by one of these monster as he shouted and beaten up the man, the security guard allerting all of the bodyguards about the pacient 14 leaving his cell and attacking others.
The alarms set off and all securities were called as he toom them down ome by one as he shouted with all the forces of his lungs:
"WHERE IS MY DOCTOR?! GIVE HER BACK!" he shouted as he took each one of them down and even managing to stab one of the doctors and one of the security guards witha freacking pen that was in the pocket of one of the pacients that was nearby.
“GET THE SEDATIVE AND THE STRAIGHTJACKET! QUICK BEFORE HE-” the poor guard had his head locked on Chisaki metal hand as he slammed him into the wall into the point it bleed.
He shouted in pain when he felt the syring on his neck, his body starting to get drownsy as he was threw down on the ground, still trying to fight until the end as he kept calling for you...
“Help me... PLEASE! I WILL BE GOOD! IM SORRY!” He shouted and cried at the same time “WHERE’S MY DOCTOR?! (Y/N)!”
He shouted your name until he had no voice or force t do so as his body gave out....

You ran after scoldng every one that tred to stop you as you searched for the key of Kai’s room.
You had received an emergency call after three weeks of your vacation and to say you were both terrified and worried was a understandement. You needed to see Kai. Just thinking about him prisioned on his room and on a jacket made you feel horrible... you even heard the possibilty of the U>A taking away his prosthetics arms due to “security measures”.
You opened the door and loghten up the lights to see Chisaki laying on his bed. A numb look towards the ceiling as you whimpered his name and went to stand close to him.
“... did you come to kill me..?” you widened your eyes as you thought the urge to tear up as you looked for the key of the straightjacket that Nezu gave it to you after your begging.
“Kai im so so sorry...” You whimpered while freeing him... HIm blinking as if he just notices your presence and moving his arms before sitting up.... looking at his metal fingers move, one by one..
“..Are you another hallucination...?” he flinched at your hand coming in contact with his cheeks ashe looked at you as if he was about to kill you right there.
“No... Kai, feel me.. I’m here. Aren’t the meds helping you anymore:”
He stared at you for a what seemed like a decade before he brushed his fingers on your cheek before choosing to bring you close on what seemed like a hug, since he coulnd’t feel with his prosthetics...
A shaky sigh leaved him as he clinged onto you.
“I... You weren’t taken away... I dont feel sick with your touch...” you hugged him back with a shaky inhale before breathing out.
“I wont be taken away... Im your doctor after all...” you buried your face on the crook of his neck and inhaled his clean scent. getting drunk by him.
You didn’t know when your lips came in contact, but they did... and you didn’t even cared about your carrer anymore, you only carried about him... you knew this man could and would get better. You just could feel it.
“You want to know something?” he whispered after the kiss as you hummed “You sound more like an angell to me. My angel.”
