Hello! I really enjoy your art style and your comics! Your style is very unique, and makes what you make stick in my brain longer than most posts!
I was wondering about what your thoughts were on the Interns/junior agents in the second game?
Honest thank you. General Psychonauts 2 spoilers below. Nothing major.
My feelings on them weren't very positive at the beginning. I grew fonder of them throughout the game though. But after beating the game; Them, and many other aspects were revealed to just be that. They're okay, but nothing deeper. If I had to like any of them it'd be Sam, Adam, and Lizzie. I either forget, don't care, or dislike the others.
Although, while occasionally fun to draw and think about, they suffer from from not having anything extra about their lives to latch onto, like the campers. I like sticking to and basing stuff off of canon, and there is not much canon to write off of.
Mixed feelings on them as a whole, again. I find the hazing they did to Raz a bit silly. In a negative sense. How old are they? Teenager or Adult? Doesn't matter much. At any age I can't imagine doing that to someone. Nevertheless a kid instead of someone your age. Call me new-fashioned, but I think its cruel and unusual. I don't find the scene after funny either. It's a bit weird to sit through.
And characters don't have to always do morally good actions. Doing the opposite doesn't make a character bad. I just don't see why/how we're supposed to ever like them afterwards. I don't understand how they ever get along or "become friends" with Raz. Remembering this detail really sours my opinion of them all. Unless I'm recalling wrong. Even if they aren't friends by the end, they're still at least a bit chummy. If I was Raz, I'd never interact with them again if I didn't have to.
But I'm not Raz. And he can do whatever he wants. This self-disrespecting, approval seeking kid. A kid who thinks that if he impresses the people older than him he'll be treated on their level. A kid who believes that he if he just proves himself, they'll treat him like a regular human being. And that's not unrealistic. He's 10 after all. But it makes me sad.
I enjoy these asks, really. But letting you all know now, many aspects solely about Psychonauts 2 I am not the biggest fan of. I love Psychonauts, I just think many new aspects of the sequel are contrived or boring. Not that people can't or shouldn't be fans of the stuff! Just please don't expect too much here.
I actually have a mild comic written and drafted out about them. Hasn't been worked on in a while.

I know I just sent an ask regarding the Miss Raven relationship post, but I saw the scrapped Yuus one and I wanted to ask smth related (⇀‸↼‶) sorry if two asks in a row are too much in this regard too!
first of all I LOVE YOUR STYLE 😭 it's so cute, I always get excited when you post art. and it's so interesting to get to see a part of your creative process in making characters, even if they didn't end up existing. ( THE ONEE-SAN YUU... Miss Raven was saved from falling for another charming smile... and so were the rest of us )
in regard to ocs, I wanted to ask... do you have any other twst ocs? I think I read some old posts about some RSA ocs, but I wanted to ask specifically if there's another "big" one in terms of story/being as fleshed out as Miss Raven 🧐 or if you ever plan to make another Big Oc™️ in terms of lore like u did for her
also... I wanted to ask... now that you finished her main story, is there any other long form (?) stories you want to explore with her? I know you're hosting the future!au event rn, and you've written more side stories (?) about her in similar events... but I mean as in- again, a longer sort of story. I'm just genuinely curious, since I really like your work + her specifically and I'm curious about whatever you have planned for her 👀 but ofc it's totally okay if you have other plans orrr if you'd prefer to let the heavy Raven lore rest for a bit!!
[Referencing this post and this blog event; the asker’s Miss Raven relationships ask is here.]
adskjblfabfqyovf OTL Thanks??? I get anxious about posting my art because its usually hand drawn, non-committal sketches 💦 I personally really like reading about other people's creative processes so I tend to scribble notes all over my drawings, and then they get all messy and cluttered... I'm glad you like them regardless though.
I like drawing Onee-san!Yuu’s art eyes and hair… She is very dainty and cute! Her personality is fun to toy with too, since how she acts and how she’s truly feeling are so starkly different. I’ve thought about her so many times, it’s almost like she’s psychically reaching out to me in an attempt to have me formally implement her 😂 Again though, not sure if I’ll ever settle on a Yuu because the concept of a Yuu does not really interest me.
Aaaah, my RSA OCs were back from like 2020-2021. I never did manage to flesh them out and I think I’ve lost the fire to. I have several NRC OCs that I haven’t shared because they aren’t that fleshed out either. Of those, I think my favorite is my twisted!Iago (who is in part also inspired by my own pet)… He’s just a punk ass (first year Scarabia) kid and Jamil’s self-proclaimed minion (Jamil has no idea who he is).
Ironically, I think the most detailed NRC OCs I have at the moment are the three based on mob students:

Even then, I don’t think they’re super deep… Pome A can be summarized as "ex-delinquent who now has the goal of becoming 'a gentleman'" (similar to Deuce, who wants to be an honors student). Scarab B is basically a Jamil fan boy (though he's less angry/pushy about it than Sebek is; he has more eager puppy energy). The most detailed one of the bunch is Octa A, who is very anxious (Idia-sh) due to being sorted into Octavinelle, where his dorm members are constant sources of stress. Outside of that, he's a very... homely "boy next door" type. I picture him coming from a tightly knit island town and helping out his family at a community center where they help people find jobs that best suit them. (If you couldn't tell, a lot of Octa A's backstory is inspired by the Lilo and Stitch animated series.) The mob student OCs were conceived because I thought it would be funny to sometimes write from the perspective of unrelated onlookers watching all of the crazy stuff that happens on NRC campus and just going, "What, AGAIN????" They feel more like unserious gag characters, if anything.
I have actually considered writing a sequel to the Tale of the Cursed Raven for the longest time! If you've read the original tale, Vil, Azul, and Idia play prominent roles throughout it. The second saga would theoretically give the other dorm leaders (Malleus, Leona, Kalim, and Riddle) importance. Note that 3 out of 4 of the dorm leaders in the latter group are nobles or have noble relatives. That's because the (potential) sequel would involve themes of social status and who gets to shape the future. A-And hey, maybe it could focus on Raven's relationship with L*ona instead of J word this time-- The synopsis is as follows: Having finally broken her curse, Raven Crowley is now free to live as she wishes in a happily ever after of her own making... or is she? One day, a strange invitation arrives from an unknown sender, beckoning her to Briar Valley. Amid whispers of Malleus Draconia's ascension to the throne and a grand ball to decide the dragon's bride-to-be, the timing is certainly strange. "This is far too suspicious," she thinks. "I simply won't go." Then a sparkling carriage pulls up to the gates of Night Raven College, claiming to be looking for a princess in black feathers. Accompanying that carriage are two men cloaked in white and a woman that shines like starlight.
"Who are you?" Raven asks, feeling as though they've met before in some distant past. "Why, I'm your Fairy Godmother. I'm here to make all of your dreams come true."
Perhaps this meeting was always meant to be.
(I WANT TO BE CLEAR: despite how the synopsis sounds, it is NOT meant to be Raven x Malleus. I would appreciate it if readers refrained from discussing this topic, please and thank you.)
As you can probably tell by that 💦 the story sounds very ambitious... and unfortunately, I don't feel comfortable writing it because we're still missing so much from the canon main story. I'd like the OB Malleus and Grim arcs to complete so I understand the full scope of the story and how the loose ends are tied up (particularly Malleus's reaction post-OB and how, if at all, he embraces change). More lore on dragon fae would be helpful as well. I'd also ideally like a Briar Valley hometown event so I can see what the culture, traditions, people, politics, etc. are like before I attempt to depict it in my writing.
In this sequel, there would be many OCs introduced--at least 4 of them! I've been cooking a lot behind the scenes ^^ One of these OCs you've actually met in the original tale; it would be the Enchantress (Estella) that originally cursed the Storyteller. 2 of the other OCs are what I would describe as Estella's helpers, who are meant to be her equivalent to Silver and Sebek. One is inspired by the concept of the “messenger dove + dove with the olive branch” and the other is inspired by Swan Lake. The 4th and final OC is basically all but confirmed would be a foil character to Malleus, an ambitious nobleman twisted from Nerissa (the villain from Enchanted).
Here’s some doodles I have of the 4 OCs I mentioned! The first two are “the dove” and “the swan”, respectively. The bottom two are concepts for twisted!Nerissa and Estella.

This sequel would expand more on Estella's motives and background (something I mentioned in my afterthoughts), as well as tie in history and political intrigue as Raven’s forced to navigate those circles. It would most likely be set a year or so in the future, and the events that take place would inform Raven’s internship decision in her fourth year. (She would be a scribe in Briar Valley!) I’d like part II to feel like a story event that supplements or follows up on the development in part I/the main story.
xbjsbsjsjsb Anyway 🤡 That’s all I feel okay with revealing for now. I want to be clear and reiterate that this is all just a theoretical sequel and I’m not sure if I’ll actually get around to writing it. It’s definitely been fun to conceptualize though ^^
I’ll leave you with this concept art:

I was writing out a really long meta analysis piece on the og Beauty and the Beast on how music and lighting were used to tell a story and I tagged you in it because I thought it’d be fun to debate some of that stuff with you but now I can’t find it in my drafts at all! It’s all gone 😭 so I came to your blog to make myself feel better and found your post about Zazu in the Mufasa movie and seeing you draw the characters in the original Disney style really cheered me up. Their animation used to be so beautiful and had so much love in it (your art was gorgeous by the way, it actually looked like a real lion king film!)
Anyway! If it’s not too much on you, I’d like to hear some rambles on Disney, it could be about anything really, but I’ve just gotten some really awful news tonight and I need something to take my mind off it please
Oh I'm so sorry to hear that! I want to be there for you. You're so kind about my art, thank you; I wish I'd seen the post. I’ve had it eat my drafts before like thirty times; recently my phone is doing this fun thing where I can’t type more than two paragraphs without tumblr freezing up, so I’ve lost more that way.
Let’s see…let’s talk about Disney’s Sequels! In these trying times of remakes and prequels, the Direct-to-Vieo Sequels start to look pretty good right about now, don’t they? I think they actually got better as time went on and money went into Disney Toon studios, but I’ll list my top three and explain why!
Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (no I’m not biased leemee alone)
‘The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride
Bambi II
I can explain myself.
Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch
This movie is amazing. It repeats the best things about the original Lilo & Stitch (tight focus on character-relationships, character-specific comedy, and a simple story) while still having its own vibe, as if these are the exact same characters you know and love, but they have a recently-new normal.
Stitch isn’t a destructive artificial-brain figuring out how to think outside his programming anymore—now thinking outside his programming is the new-normal, but he still has to learn how life with a family works. Lilo isn’t lonely anymore, but she is still stuck in her own little world, in a way. Nani isn’t struggling to keep her family together anymore, but she is still struggling to keep them all happy. And Jumba and Pleakley get character arcs, which is beautiful.
If you’ve never seen it, I don’t want to spoil it. It is a really good movie. They took this concept, which was originally from Chris Sanders’s early story ideas for the first movie, where Stitch is in danger of death but Lilo’s love revives him. And they made a movie out of that.
It’s great, because Lilo is still working through missing her parents. The movie doesn’t brush that aside, or act like having Stitch fixed everything for her. Instead, she’s become singlemindedly focused on winning the same competition at hula school that her mom did, because she wants to feel a connection with her mom, and because her peers are still treating her like she’s worthless.
The thing is, Lilo gets the confidence to try and win this because of Stitch. She’s downcast and believes that her bullies are right. You get the idea that this is how she would feel if she were still a lonely orphan. But this time, because this is the sequel, Stitch is there.

So he tells her they’ll win the competition together. And in this movie, while Lilo is struggling with getting her sense-of-worth from Stitch, or a hula competition, Stitch is struggling with his sense-of-worth, too. He’s glitching out and his programming is forcing him to act destructive all over again. He’s not sure if he’ll always be bad—he’s wrestling with the possibility that he’ll hurt Lilo and his new family.
And in the meantime, Jumba is trying to solve the problem, but he’s afraid he’ll fail, and lose his worth in the eyes of the family, as well as lose Stitch. And David, in a little side-story, is afraid he’s losing Nani, that she doesn’t value him.
All of which sounds really dark, but it’s really an interesting place to take the characters, and truthfully the whole film is so lighthearted where it needs to be, but not afraid to be earnest and emotional, either. And the point of it is really good. It’s “love is more powerful than death.” It’s powerful enough to overcome questions about self-worth, and it’s powerful enough to overcome the gaping hole that loss and failure and other forms of death leave. It’s gorgeous.
2. The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride
People take issue with this sequel because…I mean, look at it. There are parts of it that are animated really well, and the character designs are good, until you measure it up to the original Lion King, and then it’s just not even the same league. Besides, the writing is very dramatic, sometimes the sound editing for the characters’ dialogue is placed strangely or feels like the pacing is weird…
But I love it, and not just for nostalgia. I love it because it is about a new set of characters (like a sequel usually should be) but the previous set of characters still act in-character.
Not everybody agrees with me. Because Simba seems much less fun-loving, and so uptight and formal, that he doesn’t feel like the same character we knew and loved in the original Lion King, at all.
But it only takes like one second of thought to realize that, as a brand new king who’s uncle murdered his father and emotionally blackmailed him, and was able to do so easily because Simba himself was so self-centered and reckless as a child, and then Simba made big mistakes by running from his responsibility for so long…
…where we find him in this sequel makes total sense.
Of course he’s feeling like he has to overcompensate for abandoning the kingdom and getting fooled by Scar. Should he realize that not everyone is going to betray him, and he is the real King and can rule gently and fairly without being over-controlling? Should he? Yeah. But like. This is Simba. His major character flaw is thinking too much about himself—it used to be thinking he was awesome, then after his dad died it was thinking he was unable to be a good leader and everything was his own fault. Now, everything he ever dreamed about being a King, he dreamed when he was like the lion-equivalent of nine years old. And found out it was all wrong. He’s having to figure this out with only his father, whose very absence is a sore spot, as an example. Of course he’s suddenly obsessed with being just like his dad, and that makes him talk all formal, and pass strict judgement, and say things like “I’m seeking counsel from the Great Kings.”
Of course Simba would be protective of Kiara. Overprotective. Lying and controlling. Because as a child, he and Nala almost died over and over. And the worst of the worst things happened to him, as a cub.
Of course he wants to banish Kovu. It’s not because he’s racist. (What does that even mean?) It’s because he was betrayed and manipulated as a young, naive cub by someone who claimed to love him, then broke his heart and his life. So when a dark lion who literally looks like and claims connection to Scar waltzes in and appears to be manipulating his daughter and stealing her young heart? Yeah, no, it wouldn’t be Simba if he didn’t overreact.

But that’s enough about Simba. I think the movie’s real strength is symbolism and premise.
First off, it continues the symbolism of a reflection in its own unique way. The movie is very on-theme. Its point is “Hate divides us, but love completes us.” (Its not “We Are One,” that’s just Movie-Speak)
Kiara feels incomplete. Divided from a whole other half of who she is. She says so as a cub. She’s not just a princess; she feels like there’s a part of her that wants to be capable and bold and take action. But she can’t be that, she has no outlet for that, because as the Princess, everyone is always over-concerned for her safety and wrapping her in like, wild-animal-bubble-wrap. Then she meets Kovu, and he is capable, and bold, and takes-action—he seems independent. (He’s not, at first, but he has more control over his immediate actions than Kiara seems to.) And he gets her and loves her, and she loves him, despite their flaws, so that is her missing half.
And with him, he doesn’t know how to just enjoy life. He’s been trained his whole life to act out of passe-down hatred; he’s been run through drills, and theres even a scene where Kiara has to teach him how to play…and then he goes back home to his sister, who clearly also wants to play, but just calls it “fighting.” That’s the world he comes from.
But he meets Kiara, who is all about trying to enjoy life and have fun, and it’s a whole new outlook for him. It’s what he had seeds of before his mother’s hate stamped it out, and Kiara completes it for him. So they really are each others’ other half. And they have that in common. Kiara could be independent and a capable leader, if her father’s hate (which manifests as paranoia and overprotectiveness against danger) weren’t stamping it out. Kovu could have fun and protect good things instead of killing, if his mother’s hate wasn’t stamping it out. Dividing the good parts of them. But then their love for one another overcomes all that and brings them together.
And they do that literally, with the reflections in the water. Simba needed to learn his father lives in him, he’s a part that can’t be separated. Kiara and Kovu needed to learn that love makes them part of one another—that’s the key to no longer being divided.
Just like how, in the end, love forgives—so the Outsiders are able to come back into the Pride. Instead of being divided, the prides literally merge into one, and are completed. Love all that.
If you think of it all as like, “how do we make Simba into a strong King when he has so much baggage to overcome?” And this adventure with his new family teaches him that? Then you can see it’s a really beautiful movie.
And I love, of course, that Mufasa appears to be orchestrating all these events. Like, there’s a Higher Power at work. It’s all good.
Bambi II
This movie has the same vibes as Lilo & Stitch 2, even though it’s a midquel.
I love that Bambi gets his own characterization and character arc in this movie, even though he’s pretty one-dimensional in the classic film. But yet, none of this feels out of character for Bambi. He’s sort of gentle and very young, but you can see glimpses of dreams and ambitions and even strength that show off what he’ll be like as an adult Great Prince of the Forest.
I think the animation is very good, soft and cute. It’s not so much about realistic-cartoon-animal movements, graceful and charming, like the classic was, obviously. This animation is more about emotion and appeal. Which I appreciate, because the story is, like most good Disney sequels, very relationship-based.
It’s about Bambi being cared for by the Great Prince, and how the relationship between a father and son is about more than duty; it’s about nurturing. I just love that. I love how carefully they build up Bambi as feeling distant and unsure of what’s going on in his father’s head, but wanting to please him nevertheless. I love that the Great Prince doesn’t know how, exactly, to care for or relate to Bambi, so he defaults to just telling him how to be dignified and Princely.
I especially love the scenes with Ronno or the Great Prince. I like the fact that those old Disney sequels can take a character that didn’t have a lot of dialogue or screen-time in the original, and build out a whole story around those characters, giving them personality and writing that somehow always feels true to those characters. The Great Prince might not know how to father, but even when he’s insecure he has a kind of put-on calm and reserve. He’s not made a fool-out-of, ever, or bumbling. I love that Ronno, on the other hand, is ridiculous and brutish, just a little-boy bully…but he’s also truly threatening, for Bambi and Faline and their friends.
I think the emotion in this movie hits really well. Because they’re so careful to interweave Bambi’s emotions about losing his mother and wanting to find the same feeling of safety he had with her in his father, with The Great Prince’s emotions about wanting to “do his duty” even if it hurts when he feels he’s not what’s best for Bambi…
Because they build that up believably and spend all their time on that instead of big, epic adventures or larger-than-life tales, the movies turn out really well.
Honorable mentions to Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time, The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Beginning, Tarzan II, and Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure
I hope your day is better tomorrow, friend.

Splatoon's 10th year anniversary
Splatoon, ah splatoon. I cannot believe it's been 10 years since you had graced the world with your presence. And how it's been 10 years since you've had me in your clutches.
Where do I even begin? I still remember so vividly of the summer of 2015, when I got a Wii U and the first Splatoon game for my bday. I was in university back then, summer vacation, addicted as all hell to the lore. And once I finally got my hands on the game, I went ham. I played that thing all day every day on the tiny CRT TV we had in the laundry room area. I had to use a converter to be able to plug the HDMI cables in, and yeah, I couldn't really read the text on screen easily or even make out the aiming reticle at all! But despite the situation, that didn't stop me from having fun.
Making silly miiverse posts, drawing squid kids, doing turf war and some ranked here n there…. it became such a core part of my life, even when I went back to school! Fun fact, this is one of the first pictures I made, waaaay back when in 2015! I still love it hehehe:
Splatoon really got my artistic juices flowing cause there was so much fun stuff to draw about!!! It helped me create a whole array of squid kids, who have grown up and changed through out the years. Here's one of the first iterations of Abby and Pilos, before their designs solidified to the ones we know today:
Those who have been around my squid days back then may recognize this as a plot point for Newbie, the mini comic!
And who could forget the star of the show: squid Lilo! Who at the time, was basically my in game squid. He got put into so many situations lmaoooo. The iconic outfit he mainly wears today is based off of my old inkbrush gear:
Splatoon has lead me to meet so many cool ppl! Even if we don't interact much anymore, I'll always cherish the memories. PLUS WHO can forget one of my most common splat phrases: splatoon got me laid. This is true btw. Multiple times. Those squid fuck lures work wonders ;)
But in all seriousness though: Splatoon has made such a huge impact on my life, in so many ways. It has jumped into my top 6 games, and I continue to play it via its sequels. Salmon run is my beloved and is such a great mode to sink my time into.
I love playing with my friends, or just doing a few matches by myself (sometimes a few = 6 hours of playing cause I'm having so much fun!) I really cannot emphasize what this game has done for me. Character creation, art, comics, zine projects, new connections, thousands of hours of fun across 3 games. Buying merch…so much merch. This game has been an important part of my life for the past decade.
Thank you, splatoon, for being so awesome for all these years. For giving me a reason to live during some dark times in my life.
And thank you all for reading this. Happy 10th anniversary Splatoon! You're still a kid now, you're a squid now~
#splatoon#splatoon 2#splatoon 3#not too sure on the future of squiding with the SW2 bs going on.... we shall see I guess#but I will never forget how important this game and franchise are to me as a whole....#I could go on and on about my experiences but that would be way too long to type lol#I love you so so so much splatoon#thank you for everything

Virtua Fighter (1994, SEGA Saturn)
So I said I'd be reviewing Saturn stuff I play.
Straight up, I'm a fan of this series. I'll try to be impartial as I can through this review but, heads up, I love it. Spoilers, I guess?
VF1 was not my first VF. Back in the 1990's my Saturn was bundled with Sega Rally, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, and Virtua Fighter 2. What an absolutely legendary trio of introduction games, there's no wonder I fell in love with the console immediately; and indeed, looking back I'd still say they're three of the system's finest. Play them. Now.
So, anyway, spoiled rotten by the amazing Vee Eff Two always made the first game seem quite basic to me. Threadbare, even. Except, those visuals. I couldn't get my head around them; in a good way, I assure you! Contrary to everything I'd heard at the time about VF1's graphics being "bad" and the texture-mapped VF Remix being released as an 'apology' for it, I thought those flat-shaded polygons were stylish as all hell. And I was here for it. And I'm still here for it.
Aside from how stylish the aesthetic is, it's got some problems and they're much-publicised. Polygons in the fighters can flicker between light levels or on/off entirely, and certain camera angles (usually during replays, or the intro) cut off parts of the arena that aren't even too far away, that's a hell of a myopic draw distance. And I'm not sure whether this is a side effect of me playing the game on Saroo or not (because I don't remember it from back in the day) but I've been witnessing certain HUD elements flicker when the action gets hectic. Bit messy.
But the thing is, the game really shines I think. Although the basic punches and kicks of every fighter are identical, they've got real character and strengths/weaknesses and all eight of them are real fun to play (even if I get the most mileage out of my main, Sarah, who I play most in every VF game). It's real fun to just slap these boxy fighter around, y'know?
But also, the game's strong in other areas. Not its meagre content, something also oft-discussed due to being constrained to arcade, versus, and a ranking mode; but the sound. Oh lawdy, that sound. Where do I start?
Music's catchy as all hell, even with the occasionally-grating reliance on that 'get go!' sample (oh, hi there end credits theme), but aside from one or two tunes that do this, there are some BOPS. Jeffry's theme, looking squarely at you. Hell, Sarah and Dural have some bangers too -- probably why both of them made it unchanged into the later Fighters Megamix.
But the sound effects, oh my, the sound effects. I'm more about how well sounds communicate the game's action over how 'nice' they might sound; but VF delivers in both areas to my ears. Firstly, there are different 'hit' sounds for different kinds of impacts (with a very clear 'reverb' to that thumping 'counter hit' sound, something Saturn VF2 didn't do right if I remember correctly) and it's never unclear what the audio is telling me. But also, they sound great. Hitting sounds crunchy and has impact, I dare say this is a really iconic bunch of effects here. If I were to levy a single criticism in this area, it's that vocal sounds are few and far between; but the sequels addressed this. It's good!
And that, to me, is the crux of how I feel with VF in modern times. I don't disagree with my older self that it's somewhat basic compared to later games, but as a streamlined VF experience; or even possibly an introduction to the series' staples and tenets; it's good. Not as great as the series would later go, but still incredibly fun.
I was about to end the review there, but there's one talking point I forgot to mention. Everyone seems to forget to mention it; which is why it's important for me to, even awkwardly-inserted into the tail-end of a ramble such as this. And that is, how well VF moves.
I'm not even kidding, it beat contemporaries like Tekken and ToShinDen to the punch and yet none of its rivals had animation anywhere near as damn good as VF's. Some movements are a joy to watch onscreen (such as that backflip with seemingly no other use than CPU Kage stalling for a time over victory) and absolutely cement that aesthetic in my mind as being "better than people in the '90s knew". Of course, I gather from YouTube comments here and there that I'm not alone in preferring this game's look to the later Remix and that assures me that I'm not quite as weird in that as my schoolfriends of the waybackwhen insisted. It looks good. It sounds good. It moves good. It plays good. It's good. 4/5

Do you have any top tier horse yuri fic recs?
Hmm, i got a couple, lemme think
This one is a very sweet slice of life EG Sunset x Scitwi one, its got a lovely interpretation of the characters; With the expected but very welcome pairing of cool punk girl and adorable nerd. and i plan on doing fanart of it! The writer knows her stuff nyeheh =v= This is the best "Rarity and Applejack get drunk together and mushy stuff happens" Fic i seen out there, a trope that is surprisingly recurring, ive seen others like this! But this one is the best, hands down. A mutual of mine wrote it and its just a wonderful time! This one is a super fun horror esque rarijack fic where rarity is haunted and applejack tries to help her. its got fantastic prose and its just damn lovely! I've done fanart of it before, its a sweet one, and its also just a really interesting direction to take Rarity's character that i'm almost sad to not see more of. Overpowered rarity whennnn Although i don't ship twilight and trixie, this fic of this pairing, that is still ongoing, is fucking hilarious. The comedy has wonderful timing, and the takes on the characters are endlessly entertaining
Stay tuned to this wonderful fic of Rarijack anthros (Inspired by the ones i designed, too!!) 'cause its gonna have a sex sequel that i've already gotten a sneak peek or two of, and i'm frotthing at the mouth about it. biting things even (i sketched the cover btw!)
This fic isn't rly horse yuri but its 1000 words of Sunset Shimmer being the utter insane badass i always wished she was; and I will continue writing her like so. I'm glad to see another writer also concidered the same
If you're like me, and think that sex is funny, this fic and it's two sequels are for you. Sunset Shimmer throws a party of deranged proportions that ends in debauchery and indulgence that nearly destroys the fabric of equestria; and it's consequences are hilarious. This is a rly cute short trans rarity fic, and it has a delightful amount of rarijack within. utterly adorbs. Almost sad to see it so short! Finaly, i'd be amiss to not recommend the fics i've written myself; Here are my two biggest and most awesomest i've done: The Return of Midnight Sparkle Is a take on MLP where there is no EG universe, and rather, Sunset Shimmer is brought to the mane 6 per twilight's request, and she absolutely does not feel like she belongs, and its a narrative about her desperate attempts of fitting in; and dealing with the fallout of her failings. I put an inordinate amount of effort on this one, even drawing covers for each chapter. I went DERRANGED with the idea of "what if sunset shimmer was on FIM and also it was gay as fuck." i basicaly wrote an entire season of the show and its finale. If you're a fan of Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle as a pairing, cannot recommend enough. Here's some of the art i made for it. Insanely sick chapter covers im super proud of The Princess and the Peasant is an all you can eat buffet for Rarijack enjoyers, I've taken the baseline of the story of "shrek 1" and i made it about Applejack and Rarity; And also expanded upon it and fixed some of the annoyances with the og story (No third act misunderstanding! On the contrary. Third act understanding. SEX.) The humble farmer Applejack has to rescue fair Princess Rarity from a dragon keep, and escort her across Equestria to ensure that her farm and family are safe. Of course, on the journey, those two grow a bit close... Too close. VEry very very veyr close. Here's a comic i've made of one of my fave scenes of it lmaooo Cannot express enough; If you're a fan of rarijack? This fic is EVERYTHING for you.
#writing stuff#ask#thanks for the ask. Please read my fanfics#I've been CHERISHING writing lately#its been an utter joy#fr fr

🎶Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal🎶
Hey dude! It’s me. 💛. Your (self proclaimed) number one fan. So, I really loved the Spooky Jim story and its sequel. I can only imagine it was a hard character and stuff to write for because honestly we don’t know a whole lot about him (#justiceforJosh’slorecharacters), but you still managed to hit it out of the park, just like always.
So, I am actually going to shake it up…I will not be requesting TØP (*gasp*). Don’t get me wrong, I have ideas and I LOVE your work, but I know you’ve been writing them a lot. That, and I’ve been on a bit of a Danger Days kick recently.
So, my request. I was wondering if you could do a MCR Danger Days one shot for me. I was thinking that the reader could maybe be Dr. Death Defying’s daughter (adopted or biological) and they could possibly be in a semi-secret relationship with Party Poison. The other members of the Fab Four know about it, but Dr. D doesn’t. Anyways, maybe one night the reader sneaks out to meet up with Party (maybe to see a a Mad Gear and Missile Kid show. Maybe just because. Your choice!). Somehow or another Dr. D finds out about the relationship (my idea is that Dr. D figures out the reader snuck out and sent Show Pony after her and Show Pony finds out and tells him, but it can be anything), and we end up getting a protective dad speech of some sort.
Sorry if that is too specific. If it isn’t something you want to do, I completely understand. ☺️
Secrets in the Zones - Party Poison x DR D.'s daughter!Reader
Warnings: bit of angst lol
Word Count: 1337 - shorter sorry!
A/N: HEYY #1 FAN! I 100% agree, Josh's lore characters need more screen time and a larger voice! I want to hear Torchbearer talk - like PLEASE 🙏 I LOVE writing TØP but here's something different like you requested! I'd been super into TØP for the last year and I think the last time I was into the Danger Days lore was about a year ago so it was super fun to revisit this! I'm guilty of using chat GPT to help me with this as I was struggling a little bit hopefully it's okay. Enjoy! Can't wait for your next request! P.S. There's a Josh fic I just posted before this so definitely check that out bc I've treated you with two fics today :)

The desert was alive tonight. The cool air prickled against my skin, a sharp contrast to the day’s oppressive heat, but it was the sort of night I loved. It made sneaking out a little easier, less likely to draw the attention of anyone holed up in Dr D.’s bunker. My dad, Dr. Death Defying, was glued to his radio station, sending out messages and songs to the Zone each night, surrounded by his friend Show Pony. I stepped softly across the cracked, dust-covered floor of the bunker, slipping my boots on and making sure my jacket was secure. The neon patch on the back reflected my Killjoy name — Riot Rhythm — though my father preferred to call me by my real name, something that reminded me that no matter what, I’d always be his daughter and likely never a true Killjoy.
Tonight wasn’t just about escaping the bunker, though. It was about him.
Party Poison.
The leader of the Fab Four had stolen my heart without even trying. His fierce determination, his loyalty to his friends, the way he fought so hard against Better Living Industries… all of it had drawn me in. The others knew. Kobra Kid, Fun Ghoul, and Jet Star had all figured it out by now, throwing subtle winks and knowing nudges whenever they saw us together. The only person who didn’t seem to know was Dad, too focused on keeping everyone in the Zones safe.
Slipping out the door, I made sure to avoid Show Pony’s makeshift patrol route. As Dr. D’s assistant and best friend, Show Pony had become something of a caretaker when my dad was too busy running the airwaves. The last thing I needed was for them to catch me sneaking off again.
The roar of a motorcycle engine caught my ears in the distance. There, under the cover of night, I spotted him — Party Poison, waiting in the shadows. His red hair glowed like a fire under the moonlight, and when he saw me approach, he smiled. His smile was the equivalent of my dad’s transmissions–it brought hope.
“You ready?” Party asked, voice low but playful.
I grinned, nodding. “You know it. Where are we headed this time?”
He leaned in close, his lips brushing against my ear. “Mad Gear and Missile Kid are playing at an old hideout past Zone 3. Figured we’d catch the show.”
My heart skipped a beat. I loved the wild, rebellious energy of the Mad Gear shows. It was dangerous and chaotic, everything that BL/ind stood against, which made it all the more thrilling. That and Party had introduced me to their music a few months ago, pirating me the cassette for my birthday.
“Let’s go, then,” I whispered, hopping onto the back of his motorcycle. As the engine roared to life beneath me, the wind whipped against my face, and for a moment, I felt completely free. With Party’s arms steady around me, I didn’t have to think about my dad or the constant threat of Dracs. It was just the two of us, racing through the desert, neon lights of the city in the distance fading into nothingness.
At the Mad Gear and Missile Kid show, the music was loud and wild. I stood close to Party, feeling the beat reverberate through my body. The chaos around us was exhilarating — masked fans dancing, shouting, living in the moment. Party pulled me closer, his arm wrapping around my waist protectively.
“Glad you came out tonight,” he said, his lips close to my ear so I could hear him over the music.
I smiled up at him, my heart swelling with affection. “I wouldn’t miss it.”
For a moment, everything felt perfect. But just as quickly as the moment came, it shattered when I spotted a familiar figure in the crowd.
Show Pony.
My heart sank. They weren't here for fun; they were here for me.
I nudged Party, nodding toward the entrance. “We’ve got trouble.”
Party’s eyes followed my gaze and landed on Show Pony, who was skating through the crowd, scanning for me. “Shit,” Party muttered under his breath. “Let’s get out of here.”
The two of us slipped through the crowd, trying to make our way to the exit before Show Pony spotted me. But luck wasn’t on my side. Show Pony’s eyes locked onto mine, and in an instant, they were skating after me with determined speed.
“Riot!” They shouted. “Stop!”
I broke into a run, Party keeping pace beside me. The two of us darted out the door, but Show Pony was right behind me, cutting me off before I could get to the motorcycle.
“I’m not letting you leave,” Show Pony said, crossing their arms. “Your dad sent me. He knows you’re out here.”
My heart pounded in my chest, guilt washing over me. I hadn’t meant to sneak out and cause this much trouble, but I also couldn’t stand the thought of Dad finding out about Party and I this way.
Party stepped forward, his expression serious. “Look, we didn’t mean to cause any problems. We just—”
“Save it,” Show Pony interrupted. “I’ve kept this secret for too long Y/N.” They used my birth name, indicating this was it–this was serious.
I bit my lip, unable to meet their gaze. “It’s not what you think.”
Show Pony sighed, their gaze softening just a little. “I’m not here to judge, but you can’t keep this from him forever. You know that, right?”
I nodded. “I know.”
Show Pony glanced at Party, then back at me. “Come on. Let’s go back. You need to talk to Dr. D.”
Back at the bunker, my heart raced as I stood before my father. Dr. D leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, his expression unreadable.
“So,” he said, breaking the silence. “You’ve been sneaking out to see Party Poison.”
I winced at his bluntness, but there was no use denying it now. “Yeah.”
Dr. D sighed, rubbing his temples. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
I glanced at Party, who stood beside me, his usual confidence replaced by a quiet tension. “I didn’t want you to worry. I didn’t want you to think it would distract me from… everything else.”
Dr. D’s gaze softened, but his voice remained firm. “You’re my daughter, Riot. It’s my job to worry about you. But this… I don’t want you sneaking around, putting yourself in danger. If something happens out there, I need to know where you are.”
Party spoke up then, stepping forward. “I care about her, Dr. D. I wouldn’t let anything happen to her.”
Dr. D studied him for a long moment before nodding. “I know you wouldn’t. But this can’t be a secret anymore. If you’re going to be with my daughter, I need to know she’s safe — and that means no more sneaking around.”
I felt a weight lift off your shoulders, relief flooding through you. “I’m sorry, Dad. I didn’t mean to keep it from you.”
Dr. D sighed, standing up from his chair and crossing the room to us. He pulled me into a tight hug, his voice soft in my ear. “Just promise me you’ll be careful. You’re all I’ve got left.”
Tears stung at the corners of my eyes as I hugged him back. “I promise.”
Party stepped forward, resting a hand on my shoulder. “We’ll be careful, Dr. D. I swear.”
Dr. D pulled back, giving Party a long, hard look before nodding. “Alright. But if anything happens to her, you’re gonna have to answer to me.”
Party grinned, saluting him. “Understood.”
As the tension in the room eased, I finally allowed myself to breathe. The secret was out, but instead of the chaos I’d feared, there was understanding — even acceptance. And for the first time, I felt like I didn’t have to hide anymore.
Out in the Zones, the world was full of danger and uncertainty, but here, surrounded by the people I loved, I knew I’d be okay.

askpostin!!
goob mornin!! its asktime!! feat. the stealingpotatoes sequel canon continuity, stuff, and me saying the words 'force divorce'
aww thank you!! honestly drawing Din is always a fun challenge bc i-- well 1 i have to draw a helmet which is a Struggle but 2 (more importantly) bc I rlly have to think How Can I Show The Same Emotion i'd usually rely on expressions for but with body language (ESPECIALLY when Din isn't like... the Most expressive in the show) but good to know I'm pulling it off!!! :D
LMAO all of these options are amazing omg. tbh all three of them are Mostly Just Jedi, I don't think Grogu takes the Creed but his nationality (planetionality??) is definitely Mandalorian so he's still a Mando in that way!! and Din might get him some armour cause like... he's technically still a Foundling, Luke doesn't take ppl from their famblies!
can you imagine if it was a competition tho. the prize is 3 solid years of therapy
@sunrisemcash LMAO maybe he blends his food and eats it with a straw under the helmet
i was actually drawing her tales of the jedi redesign!!!! they finally replaced the boob tube in canon 🙏🙏

@timetoreadit-blog-blog aww thank you so much!!!! i got another message abt me replacing canon so good to know my new canon is Spreading lolll
@yourfreindlynighborhoodspycrab LMAO love that
@pingasking-brhdft I THINK HE SHOULD BE APOLOGISING TO MACE IF ANYTHING LMAO also force ghost Padme is absolutely force-divorcing Anakin's ass lolll

Deltarune Chapter 3 Predictions!
Okay, so, Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 are releasing IN A FEW HOURS by the time this post releases, which (I’m sure for many) is SUPER exciting after the long, LONG wait. Chapter 2 is what turned me into what I can classify as a “megafan”, and I played it within… like, a year or less of its release, so I’ve been there for a lot of its theories and brainrot. (*human, i remember you’re… friend inside me.)
After it releases, I’m basically going to go radio-silent on pretty much every single possible outlet where spoilers could be spread. BlueSky, Tumblr, YouTube, I’m not even going to look at my Steam reviews. (Note: This plan was made before Toby coincidentally advised fans to do the same thing if they wanted to avoid spoilers. It’s just sensical, but still interesting nonetheless.) For someone as chronically online as me, it might be difficult, but I’m going to draw and/or watch Milo Murphy’s Law for the first day or two and then watch the first ten episodes of the new Phineas and Ferb revival when they go to Disney+ on June 6th. (Also, unrelated, but I also predict Irving will be in one of the scenes for the “fake” sequel of Meap Me In Saint Louie. I don’t know why, I just feel it in my bones. Pun unintended.)
So, here’s a detailed explanation of my predictions for Deltarune Chapter 3! Maybe a little bit of stuff for Chapter 4 as well, but mostly things for Chapter 3! Some of them are for sure incorrect, but still. Here we go!

As you can see, my ideas for predictions all started on October 10th, 2023. Yes, you heard me right, 2023. We’ve been waiting for quite a while, haven’t we? I think that’s Chairiel in the bottom-right corner. Look at that! The whole thing was purposefully a little low-ish effort, but it’s still legible enough for me to post. (I hope.)

The prediction for more than 7 chapters came from a HalfBreadChaos video about hidden Chapter 8, Chapter 9, and Chapter 10 start-up screens in the files, but looking at it nowadays, it seems unlikely. I also don’t think Chapters 3 and 4 will be on the same day anymore.
Here are some more specific chapter predictions!

It’s a funny idea (and would parallel what people thought Chapter 2 would start with, when Kris grabbed the knife and what not), but the difference here is that Chapter 1 was always intended to be a standalone demo, and thus, a haha funny bait-‘n-switch is more expected than for Chapter 2 to do so (as it would’ve been expected to release alongside all the other chapters). Plus, the potential of a Dark World in Kris’s home is too much to pass up, in my opinion at least.

Using my chart and assuming the Dark World for Chapter 6 is in Alphy’s Class, a chalk-based boss would be interesting and funny for how Susie would react towards the chalk wanting to eat HER for a change, or something. Though, in my opinion, it lacks the design cohesion of the two current secret bosses we have (Jevil has a somewhat complex design, and Spamton is simple but he has a complex design when you fight him as Spamton NEO, which contrasts to this design’s simplicity), and, like… wasn’t the whole point of Chapter 1 that Alphys didn’t have any chalk? And she never got any in the end anyway?? Unless she gets chalk in-between Chapters 2 and 6 (or if she has dialogue in Chapter 2 about getting chalk I just forgor), this just seems like a fun idea for a fan character at best and implausible at worst.
Well, those are my more general chapter-specific predictions, now onto the big guns! A full outline of what I think Chapter 3 is going to look like. You know, based on information I either didn’t have or didn’t fully understand in 2023 that built upon and/or ignored any future reveals. Here we go!

(To not get your hopes up, I will clarify this is the only image in color and with an explanation provided in the drawing itself.)

I thought it would be funny to make Mike a literal “red herring”. Get it? Ohoho… you will.

Omega Flowey reference (intentional)! The reference is how Tenna’s eyes are green with red pupils. You know, how, like, Omega Flowey has the…? Yeah, you get it.

In my mind, my “Tenna” interpretation is otherwise calm and somewhat motherly with an infrequent tendency to be neurotic and angry. She wouldn’t really crash out like this. Maybe she’s just embarrassed that her first experience with a Lightner is met with scorn and ridicule? That makes some semblance of sense.

Classic Allegedly classic display of a “mother” (Tenna) dragging her “daughter” (Susie) into doing something she doesn’t actually want to do.
(realizes right now this is basically just a spin on the Queen/Noelle dynamic but less funny) Hey, wait a minute…

In case one of my estimated 1/2 of a viewer caught on to the terminology I was using earlier, you’ll realize that I’ve been referring to Tenna by she/her this whole time.
“Wait!” You may or may not be calling out to your screen for some reason. “Spamton referred to a person with he/him pronouns on the website from Spamton Sweepstakes where the name ‘Tenna’ was first mentioned!”
…I, uh, didn’t see that part when first coming up with the concept. Whoopsie-doopsie!
Fun fact: When originally taking a photo of this particular comic (several months ago, as I was planning to upload all of them to my BlueSky but got zero engagement and got fairly demotivated), I scribbled over “TV lady” and replaced it with “TV person”. But I decided before posting this to just bite the bullet and confidently proclaim my wrongness because it factors into the story I have planned! Or, HAD planned, I guess, since this is a scheduled post… oh well.

Looking at it again after a while, I thought Ralsei had the titular Delta Rune emblem on his pajamas, but no, it’s a cute little teddy bear head.

Drawn “We should go look for her!” text jumpscare. AHHH! Feel like there should’ve been a “Hm? She was c-captured? Oh no!” beforehand, but, bygones.
In case you couldn’t tell, before doodling all these, I actually have not drawn any of the Deltarune characters before. I’ve drawn Sans and Papyrus (and Flowey…?) a lot before, but other than that, I haven’t really drawn much other UT/DR characters. Hm. Maybe I’ll do more of that eventually.

You know what else I forgot? I forgot visible-goat Ralsei doesn’t have his hat. Literally. I was told twice by my sister (who is as big if not a bigger Deltarune fan than I), MONTHS apart (with the second time being a day or two prior to writing this), that the whole point is that Ralsei stopped wearing his hat, but I don’t know, it’s an iconic character piece! I would say he looks naked without it, but his hair tuft alleviates that problem somewhat.
Said hair tuft in question infrequently appearing on Ralsei’s head alongside the hat… double whoopsie-doopsie. (Whoopsie-doopsie-boopsie?)

Ralsei doesn’t actually say anything brutal there, it’s just a buffer for the funny. The buffer wouldn’t exist in-canon. And the Shadowman brutality also wouldn’t exist in-canon. OHHHH MY GOD I just realized the implications of the needlessly depicted brutality against the first primarily-black Deltarune enemies, wowwwwwwww oh my god I promise I am not bigoted I am just very bad at thinking some things through sometimes. The humor is supposed to be that they are doing these needlessly brutal things to innocuous everyman enemies, NOT from the harbingers of justice enacting such violence against otherwise innocent civilians with that specific color palette! Please believe me! I can already feel my 1/2 a viewer drop down to 1/4 a viewer! I’m just short-sighted!!!!!
Oh, and also, I don’t know if “The Real Shadowman” exists or not, but he would probably just be a one-room NPC you meet who’s the “origin” of why the Shadowmen are named the way they are, somewhat washed-up, bitter, and nostalgic and all that. Maybe there’d be some extra dialogue if you have The Original Starwalker in your key items too, that’s be funny.
Also also, you probably noticed from the first comic thingy-ma-doo, but I chose not to use a color picker and just used “*shrugs* close enough” colors when filling it in, even if the drawings are less than two panels apart. Do with that what you will.

Yep. Toriel wasn’t captured. She’s just been wandering around aimlessly. I’m surprised she hasn’t encountered any Shadowmen.
In case you’re curious, that little robogoober is “Rembo”, made from the Dreemurr’s TV remote! The one with batteries that was found on the couch. As shown by the battery on his head. (There’s a different empty remote next to the TV, right? From flavor text by interacting with the TV? That exists, right??)

The “WHIR” would be the same one from the chainsaw Mettaton uses to intentionally almost get the human’s soul in “Cooking With A Killer Robot”, by the by!
This is also a demonstration of Toriel’s fire powers! Because yes, I imagine they’d be a spell in her toolset if she’s a party member, which I maintain she will be. Yes, I believed there was going to be a weird route in Chapter 3. New evidence causes me to doubt that claim nowadays, but, for now, go with the narrative on this one, mkay?

…Well, batteries are toxic, right?
Oh, and also, I’ve based a lot of character expressions off of Ren from Ren and Stimpy. I watched a noticeable chunk of it. Like, the first three seasons (though I’m aware Prime Video is missing like half of Season 2, coincidentally being some of if not the best episodes of the entire show, so I guess only part of Season 2) and the first episode and a half (or maybe two halves?) of Season 4. I watch shows in order, waow !
Hm? You expected a Tumblr post about Deltarune to talk about Deltarune? Beginner’s trap. You’re smarter than that, my 1/8 a viewer! Your smile also brightens the room and makes people feel more comfortable around you.

Toriel would be very happy to see Kris, though I’m unsure if she’d be happy that they’re in where she is in the first place. And probably put together that Susie’s there, too.

Ralsei’s superficial understanding of family dynamics (He Has: No Parents) caused him to automatically assume Toriel was married. Boy… they are not off to a good start, huh?

I like the first Toriel drawing, it’s fairly on-model, but you know what I don’t like? The second choice.
Not because it’s juvenile or “edgy” or anything like that, but the phrasing. Instead of the awkward clunkiness of “Some homeless guy, he has guns in his robe right now”, it could be a much more succinct “Some homeless guy with guns in his robe”, or to comedically accentuate the negative, “Some homeless addict with guns in his robe”. Still though, in principle, it’s a… somewhat cute reference to the whole “Ralsei with a gun” thing. Though, statistically speaking, it is one chapter too late. Does this mean that Chapter 4 will have a reference to “doobie Ralsei”? Or would changing the choice to call him an addict cover both bases?

Originally, I was gonna do a whole “erm, well, to be fair, you don’t know that Kris wasn’t talking about Ralsei when referring to their friend in Chapters 1 and 2 if you call Toriel” bit, but then I realized… uh… Susie. Susie is pretty concretely confirmed to be the friend Kris was talking about, in Toriel’s mind at least. Though, on second thought… “He’s my friend” is both rather clunky (like the first choice, golly) and lacking that natural Kris conviction in the choices you choose for them. So! I propose instead, the first choice be changed to “My teammate”. Here’s how the interaction would go:
Toriel (with that one shocked/serious face): Your… teammate?
Ralsei: Yes! Kris and I are members of a team set to… well…
Ralsei (again): …to stop disaster and to make the world a better place!
Toriel (turning towards Ralsei): …
(Toriel turns back to Kris and waits for a moment or two before continuing.)
Toriel: I shall trust your judgement, Kris. Despite not fully understanding it.
Toriel (again): You are a smart child, and I know you would not put your faith into someone who doesn’t deserve it.
Toriel (turning to Ralsei, serious; internally): (Something about this character makes me feel… uneasy.)
Ralsei (still facing Toriel, happy; internally): (I’ve never had an authority figure guide me before! I’m so excited to see what it feels like!)

She doesn’t need to say Kris twice… back-to-back… uggghhh, whatever, I’m griping with my own work. In case you’re unaware, this is the designated “Kris would choose this if they still had free will” option. Do with that what you will. I know Kris can’t.
Get it? Because they don’t have free will? Eh? Ehhhhhh?
Hey, why is there only 1/16 a viewer left…?

Here’s where the visual portion of my predictions end! However, I shall continue on from this point, with some extras afterward, too! Not with full dialogue for every scene obviously, and not even dialogue for every important scene, but still, you know.
Though, I would say instead of “converging”, in the first option, Ralsei would say something like: “Oh! I almost forgot! We’re looking for the third member of our party, Susie.” And Toriel’s like “Susie? Of course… it’s only natural she was also brought… wherever here is.”
And then after THAT it would properly converge with dialogue about Toriel wanting to join the party, wanting to “lead”, Ralsei telling her that Kris usually leads, Toriel stepping in and explains that she’s Kris’ mother, and thus, not only responsible for what happens to them but also needing to protect them from danger, and telling Kris to stay close behind. (Gameplay wise, Toriel wouldn’t join your party at this point, but rather, vaguely trail ahead of you for a few rooms like she does in Undertale.)
After Toriel walks off-screen into the next room, Ralsei would both be filled with a sense of wide-eyed wonder at Toriel’s protective nature (He Has: No Parents) and somewhat disappointed/maybe even a little annoyed that Toriel’s proclaiming herself as the leader.
Anywho, you continue into a bunch (like four) of puzzle rooms with a vague “news channel” theme, Tenna reappears, with a tied-up Susie in a gaming chair to the side or something. She explains that they never finished their news report! She also explains: “Unfortunately, Mike sprained his elbow while trying to make it to this room, so our substitute weathermen will fill in for him today!” Down come the Weather Boys. The presumed weather minibosses in Chapter 3. For the news! Susie complains that she doesn’t even have the chance to fight, and Tenna appreciates her “free spirit” so she lets her go, just to help battle and what not. Toriel’s watching from the side, but unfortunately unable to help.
After that miniboss is said and done, Tenna takes Susie back after a short-lived congratulation and heads off. Toriel reluctantly admits that Kris definitely has more knowledge on how to beat the enemies of “this strange place”, and so agrees to let them lead. She puts herself second in line after Ralsei, though. And that’s kind of the gimmick of the chapter! Instead of Susie being with you, for the majority of the chapter, Toriel is your second party member! You need to help show her the ropes on how to battle and probably make her learn “T-Action” during a mandatory encounter with more Shadowmen (or another enemy/group of enemies) in the next room. This is most definitely an incorrect assumption, given all photos we have of Chapter 3 battles include Susie, but it’s an interesting idea, gosh darn it!
The other main gimmick of the chapter is that there are a bunch of different areas that each represent different channels! And, naturally, Tenna can always have “breaking news” reports in the middle of a channel area because that’s her thing. She’ll probably just banter with you and maybe give you some fights, overall being more involved than King or maybe even Queen is when it comes to battles. The different green rooms serve as a sort of buffer in-between channels with signs telling you what channel you’re supposed to go in. Westerns! Sitcoms! CW-esque dramas! Cartoons! And, most importantly, the Godzilla-esque place, with the Godzilla stand-in being something you need to literally travel up in order to beat. (You beat it by turning off a conveniently placed level at the top of its head. It’s just an animatronic, after all.)
Rembo will reappear again in an SNL-inspired improv “comedy” show, alongside — you guessed it — Roulxs Kaard! He gives very bad stand up. “I’ll wast the first personeth to say it: Whatst ist the dealeth with staying in Kris’s pocketh all the timeth? I mean, thou stay in one placeth all the timeth without ever getting to embark elsewhere? I felt more free when I was underth the rule of a totalitarianeth king!” No laugh track will play. (Though if you check Lancer in your inventory afterwards, he will note that he felt “Lesser Dad always had a penchant for comedy!”)
He gets mad at the Fun Gang for “totally stealing my thundereth”, Ralsei quietly notes that he’s talking unusually casually, and a boss fight commences with him and Rembo in tow. Skit-based “remote” attacks ensue.
I also predict that Toby’s post about asking who Lancer is actually foreshadowing! Let’s break it down.
Lancer
Dancer
Prancer
Mr. Generosity
We’re just so happening to get 4 chapters released in total. Let’s see how well the first two line up.
Using the logic I’m so needlessly indulging in, “Lancer” would be used in Chapter 1. This makes sense; Chapter 1 is his introduction and is the chapter in which he’s most relevant. Calling him by his actual name is fairly straightforward.
“But wait”, my 1/32 of a viewer might be asking, “How does Chapter 2 relate to ‘Dancer’ in any way?” WELL, if you recall, what does Lancer do when you idle during selection of your Key Items? Dance. And he’s also associated with Queen’s Mix Tape in your Key Items, too.
What of Chapter 3 and 4, though? Well, in Chapter 3, he would supposedly be “Prancer”. Prancing is a form of movement, usually taken up by horses. So, I predict that in the aforementioned Western section, you will be able to use Lancer as a horse to navigate. And, incidentally, I believe Lancer will turn to stone much slower than he does in Chapter 2, if at all. Why? Well, Ralsei said that a Darkner “may not belong if they go to another (dark fountain)”. Emphasis on may.
Think about it. Lancer is supposed to be, like, a playing card, right? A playing card is out of place in a computer lab. That’s why he turned to stone. But a playing card at someone’s home? Well… that just might do. fits a lot more obviously! People usually have playing cards in their home. It wouldn’t be unordinary. Perhaps in the living room, but even still, it’s much more natural.
And finally, “Mr. Generosity” for Chapter 4. This builds off the point I was making earlier. Taking into account the fact that (if Chapters 3 and 4 are on separate days) Chapter 4 will take place on a Sunday, and the prevalence yet inaccessibility of the church so far, it is basically guaranteed that Chapter 4 is going to be in the church. A playing card doesn’t fit at a computer lab, but I’d say it fits even LESS in a church. (Unless the church has one of those… playing areas… I guess? I’m choosing to ignore that possibility because it doesn’t fit with my narrative, though.) This would logically mean Lancer would turn into stone super fast. And I predict that, because it’s literally church, Lancer’s statue will be treated like a religious figure named “Mr. Generosity” with his devoted followers citing “His silly little face and rotund little body inspire all of us to be more generous. That’s why we call him Mr. Generosity.” And I think that’s a really funny idea. And if you recruit everyone in Chapter 4, Lancer’s happy about “finally having a fanbase outside of the people my dad forced to make one!”
The secret boss will also be based off of the empty remote I was talking about earlier (if it exists). Instead of Rembo, he will be called… Gembo, and speak only in L33T speak. He feels empty because no batteries but he still has life because blah blah blah Gaster shenanigans. Hurr dee durr, that’s our Wing Gaster! He’ll turn you green, dodge his attacks that harken back to a bunch of different channels and ones not even touched on by the different areas like spy movies, cartoons, or soap operas.
There will also be a scene near the end of the chapter where Ralsei asks if you wonder how Susie’s doing. If you agree, you’ll get a little scene where Tenna acts very motherly to Susie in a way that suits her vibe surprisingly well, and shows her her own trailer in the green room (and this area would probably be where the magic door that allows you to switch between locations is). Susie is pretty happy about having a healthy maternal figure.
Anywho, final Tenna fight of the chapter, two rooms before the fountain! It’s a relatively standard finale, basically being like Queen’s fight before Mecha Queen. HOWEVER! If you’ve been using Toriel’s fire magic to defeat enemies, you can do what people theorized on Tenna: SCREEN BURN. This won’t affect Toriel emotionally as much as it did Noelle, but Tenna will definitely not make it out alive. This won’t affect the story too much either, but Susie will close up a little more and be considerably bummed out. (Tenna’s boss theme will also be called BREAKING NEWS. You heard it here first, folks!) If Tenna is fought on the normal route, she will go to Castle Town regardless if you fight or act against her. She’ll definitely have some fun interactions with Queen.
SIKE! Remember Mike? The red herring? He was the big bad the whole time. He did sprain his elbow, but used it as a distraction to make it to the fountain and stop the heroes there once and for all! You see, if the fountain closes, all of its networks and what not will go down the drain. That’ll lose him money! And put many others out of jobs! So he has to defeat you in a spectacle the TV world will never forget!
He’s a floating fish. He’s the second-hardest boss of the chapter (under the secret boss, naturally). Normally, you do it with Susie and Ralsei, but in the Weird Route, Susie needs to take a breather to deal with the loss of Tenna and Ralsei tries his best to comfort Toriel after the technical atrocity she committed, in his own Ralsei-y way, so you need to do it solo (like Spamton NEO, kind of)! He uses cameras and show equipment and the like as attacks. You can only beat him via attacking (like King), so give him the best you got! (He’ll be in the jail next to King in Castle Town afterwards, regardless of route.)
After sealing the fountain, the gang (minus Ralsei, plus Toriel) wake up outside the Dreemurrs’ home and find out it was on fire because when Kris made the fountain, they accidentally did puncture some pipes and set the stage for a fire. Undyne had to drag them all out of the burning building herself! (Undyne and Napstablook are there, pulled up in a cop car.) Toriel begrudgingly realizes they have to spend the night at Asgore’s, which Susie is somewhat uncomfortable about (and sullen if you completed the weird route). They go, cutscene plays, maybe you overhear Toriel and Asgore sort of reconcile if you’re on the normal route or otherwise remain stagnant in their relationship. The end… of Chapter 3. Not sure what the hook would be to connect to the next chapter, though maybe Susie jokes about having to go to church tomorrow because she jokingly remarks “that whole situation put the fear of god into me, man”.
Time for my final, less loosely chronological predictions!
One of the two new secret bosses will be (slightly-to-moderately) more popular than the other, but the less popular secret boss’s theme will be the one most talked about by the community. Kind of a yin/yang situation here. They will also regularly be drawn as a duo, which is to be expected.
I also predict that one of the secret bosses will not be a boy! Jevil and Spamton were both boys, it’s time to lay low on the testosterone around here! I mean, come on! Can’t you see how manly they are?! It’s almost giving me a headache!
You won’t go to Ralsei’s Dark World/Castle Town until the beginning of Chapter 4, where you go and put your stuff in and what not before heading to church and then returning to Ralsei’s dark world after. A third or so of Chapter 4, after going to Ralsei in Castle Town, will also be in the Light World!
The Weather minibosses will have somewhat funny dialogue in Castle Town, talking about their other jobs since they’re technically substitute news reporters. The blue one talks about being an infomercial salesman, while the yellow one just talks about being the owner of a small sandwich deli shop. Good stuff.
And finally, Chapter 3 will NOT have a weird route due to the whole “applicable/not applicable” thing the community discovered a while back. Where Chapters 1 and 3 are not applicable, but Chapters 2 and 4 are applicable. Noelle’s definitely going to be a party member in both; ergo, a Weird Route in both. Sorry, Screen Burn truthers.
I’ll definitely edit this post afterwards to add alt text to the images, but any acknowledgment of if my predictions were right or wrong will be saved for up until a follow-up post in which I go into massive detail about it. I’ll definitely do predictions for Chapters 5 and beyond and make long, needlessly circumlocutory posts about them too, so you don’t need to worry! The monkeyman2020 Deltarune pipeline has only just begun to bloom.
Thank you, my 1/68 a viewer, for… hey, wait a minute, the last one was 1/32! It’s not even decreasing exponentially anymore! What in the what?!
Sigh. I suppose I’ll let it slide for now, lest I go insane. I hope my infinitesimal amount of readers enjoyed all this neurodivergency detailed predictions, and I’ll see you all on June… what, 6th? 7th? That’s probably reasonable. Take care, everyone!

The new "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" movie is VIBRANT! The unique and ambitious style with handdrawn textures and effects is fun and flashy and incredibly colorful - there have been comparisons to Spiderverse, yet TMNT:MM is very much doing its own thing (there is a fair bit of flashing in this movie too, so be warned, but not on the extreme scale of either SV movie). The animation is beautifully naturalistic in its acting and the action really pops. The character designs have great funky shapes, purposefully significantly uneven in a way that delights me with their lack of symmetry.
It's always fun seeing how the characters and backstories change with each iteration trying to do something different. (It's part of why I'm trying to watch my way through different Transformers shows. I think it's neat how the characterizations are always different.) I've only seen the "Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" show and movie (and enjoyed them a lot), and the boys and the world are wildly different to that, and I still enjoyed this iteration of them very much too. The turtles are young and adorable and, while they did kick ass, they were also excitedly talking over each other and making stupid jokes and being a little... uncool? In a way that felt resonant to the experience of being a teenager just having a good time and finding stuff you like and trying to find other people like you. The banter was fun and silly and realistic and teasing. And occasionally heartfelt, though most of the characters are (as many people do) constantly disguising their vulnerability with self-aware jokes.
The story is straightforward (it's kind of simplistic and not very deep at all, honestly, but I enjoyed that just fine) and moves along quickly at a fun pace. It's very like Spiderverse in that I think it's accessible while expecting you to be familiar with basic superhero tropes, so it's a real blast if you're already fond of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles like I am, and I find it so refreshing to watch things that are unapologetic about their basic concept being more than a little ridiculous. There are lots of references, but they felt like references that people naturally make, especially teenagers with relatively little exposure to other people. This is a really silly movie! And the movie is like, "Yeah! This is silly! Isn't it great?! Now look at what we're going to do with it!"
The humor runs towards being pretty gross (puke, ooze, other bodily fluids and body humor, and some pretty extreme body horror regarding mutants) at times, depicted pretty graphically on screen. Which I kind of enjoyed, it's neat sometimes to see a movie go there, but I need to underline the vomit warning because that stuff was excessive. The movie also gets quite violent at times. As with most superhero media, they do beat up a lot of generic goons without pausing to consider the broken bones that would definitely be happening. (Very vague spoilers:) There's a nonconsensual medical experimentation scene that's a little disturbing, with repeated electric shocks, and the drawing of bodily fluids, though they keep telling jokes through it to try to keep it light. The final battle is also pretty destructive and did make me go, "They're just babies! (They're like 15ish.) Leave them alone!" a few times.
So, if you're looking for something fun and silly to go see, something that looks totally unique and vibrant on the animated scene, something that made me nostalgic for just joking around with my geeky friends by ourselves when we were teenagers, then I recommend going to see this movie! Especially if you enjoyed any previous iterations of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles even in passing. Though if you're a die-hard fan of a particular previous iteration, maybe you'll be annoyed by some of the adaptational differences, idk, and if you don't like any previous TMNT stuff, then this is maybe not for you. I'm looking forward to the TV show and the sequel that have been greenlit already!

Hey Raven! 👋🏻 I just went through your #my art, and i wanted to tell you that i really really really like your artworks of Miss Raven and Co. You truly put a lot of effort into your artwork, and it shows! With each new drawing, you seem to be getting better! ✏️💕
As i mentioned earlier, i really liked your Miss Raven drawings! they're so cute! especially when you drew Miss Raven in alternative clothing. I also like how much detail you put in your designs for Miss Raven, like the ones for the Fairy Gala or Masquerade Ball are so beautiful 🥺 and still fit her character!
The one you did with her wearing different dorm uniforms from each dorm was such a cool idea! it was interesting to see how she may have appeared if Miss Raven was transferred to said dorms! call me biased, but i liked the octavinelle design the most 😂 but poor Miss Raven. If she had to work part-time in Mostro lounge, she'll have to avoid two predatory Eels 😭 One wants to tease her while the other either wants to squeeze her or dump all his work on her cuz he isn't feeling it today, then there's Azul who takes advantaged of the fact that Miss Raven is close to headmaster Crowley and makes profit 📈 Run Miss Raven Run!!!
Anyway, I think i'm going to steal her away and fight off a certain dangerous and manipulate Eel, a Skilful Hunter, a Lazy Lion, and a dude with the power of christ (idk is Rollo x Raven even a thing?!).
I always look forward to seeing a new artwork of yours truly~
[Referencing this tag!]

Wehhh 😭 I’m glad you find enjoyment in my silly little doodles! Art is definitely an area I’m less comfortable with, but I do like dabbling in it when the mood strikes.
There’s something therapeutic in designing a new look for your OC! You take the time to consider their individual style, the overall theme, and how you can marry the two to create a cute outfit~ I’m really happy with how Raven’s Fairy Gala Couture came out; it’s definitely one of my favorite looks for her. The Masquerade outfit was also fun for me to assemble, but it seems a lot less cohesive in hindsight (probably because I didn’t line + color it, so it’s harder to distinguish individual elements??).
The NRC dorm uniforms (+ the sequel with RSA and NBC uniforms) was another cool project! I think my favorites from those are the Heartslabyul look (just because I’m a sucker for the Alice in Wonderland aesthetic + Raven is twisted from the raven in its infamous riddle), the Diasomnia look (it gives “fairy tale princess turned knight” energy), and the Noble Bell look (because the extra fabric is nice and flowy). You can see how the environment and the personality of each school/dorm influences her, right? ^^ It’s also interesting to think about how differently Raven might have turned out if each of these places had more of an influence on her life.
Bruh 💀 I think she’d die if she worked at the Mostro Lounge, dealing with customers and shady coworkers and employer… though that’s not to say that any of the other dorms would necessarily be better! Miss Raven would have gripes with or rivals in each of them somehow. It’s the Night Raven College way, I guess??
One of these things is not like the other… Looking back on it, 3 out of 4 of those are basically predatory-prey dynamics there there’s a type developing and I don’t know if I like it/j 😂 I’d say Jade’s the “main” love interest, while Rook’s the “oh, he’s cute” one… L*ona kind of started as a crack ship but now I think it’s more of a one-sided thing?? Like, Miss Raven still sees L*ona as sort of a rival, whereas he’s grown a little fond of her but knows he can’t do much to sway her… It’s the eternally “second place” syndrome… 😔
Rollo has the most complex relationship with her (sure, call it a ship if you want 😂), built primarily on a strange savior complex. He did some heinous stuff and dislikes her because she’s very pro-magic—but I think there’s a part of him that feels like she’s a lost lamb that’s been led astray by Draconia and therefore he needs to “save” and “correct” her. Problem is, he’s bad at Emotions so his anger gets redirected at Miss Raven herself. Meanwhile, Miss Raven realizes the similarities between herself and Rollo, so she wants to be a friend to him. She sort of forces him to be her pen pal (thinking that writing down how he feels will help him cope with what happened). So weirdly enough, Raven wants to “save” Rollo and Rollo wants to “save” Raven (but both suck at communicating well).
Who knows, we’ll see how things play out from here Nd when the whim to draw strikes next 📝

30 day no fanart challenge
this is the meat of the challenge: no fanart for 30 days (oh wow lol) 1. drawing categories/prompts instead of IP: it can be *anything*, it can be food, hobbies/professions, folklore/mythology. eg: actual taiko drums instead of taiko no tatsujin characters, cute dinosaurs instead of yoshi, cool hedgehogs instead sonic (lol) 2. IF i happen to wanna draw fanart, it's gotta be at least 100 years old (anything before 1924) eg: drawing fanart of John Tenniel's Alice (1865) and not disney Alice (1951), Albert Lynch's Joan of Arc (1903) and not Clone High Joan (2002). ps: im not sure about famous people yet, but i think ill go with the same idea that theyd have to have been dead before 1924.
here's some stuff ive drawn with that in mind, even though i hadnt stablished the challenge yet lol

why a no fanart challenge? well well well, if this isnt another post artist alley eulogy lol
here's some background feelings: after having helped promote 2 japanese food festivals and tabled on both its artist alley's, and knowing myself, and having grown up in the age of comic/book to film adaptations and the rebootprequelsequelmagaddon, it's really hard for me not to fanart, even though i trashtalk hollywood all the time for not taking risks and doing original stuff, lo and behold, i do the same. who am i to judge _anything_ when i watched all three star wars sequels in theaters and crushed on kylux for years, i was kneedeep into hannigram, i gave money to the barbenheimer industrial complex. how can i blame RGG for not letting kiryu go when i _cried legit tears of joy_ when pirate majima was announced? (granted, it's not as bad as the kiryu situation lol but this is about ma$cots, not me lol)
i love a lot of characters, a lot of stories, im always jumping from show to show, game to game, and coming back to them. but i wanna go beyond my love for other people's art and be in love with my own, now that im at a better skill and mental state. it might not resonate as much, specially at the japanese festivals im a part of, but i wanna try. and im gonna start slow, i *am* going to draw japanese food, japanese animals, and create my tiny little scenes and see what comes up. i love stickers with every fiber of my being lol so ill always have in mind that ill draw stuff that i would wanna stick on my own sketchbooks and journals. but i need to do this, at least for 30 days. who knows what will happen later, you know? a friend of mine once said that colored pencils are like sugar, and graphite pencils are like veggies. and i feel like fanart and not-fanart is the same. we love fanart, but it's not healthy to only draw fanart... also i love people who delve into IP OCs and stuff, it always seems a lot of fun. i could try that, but i think ill cut my fanart ties cold turkey and then i can figure something out, i dont know lol i could go back to d&d character sheets lol another side note: i went to film school bc i loved watching movies. i wanted to tell stories, but i had no idea how, and i didnt think i had the talent for drawing. i started studying japanese and bullet journaling, bc i had the urge to draw, and those were the mediums that were close enough to drawing i felt i could try. and then hannibal happened, i had a roommate who was learning to watercolor, and i was like, screw it, let me draw hannigram bc i love them lol ive had the opportunity to make some movies, but logistically and creatively, they never felt as good as having the spark of inspiration, sketching, linearting, painting, printing and selling these tiny ass stickers. there is some control freakness in that, sure lol but there's also a need to build confidence in my own abilities, which sadly i didnt have a space for in movie sets... anyway, ill always mourn not having spent my teens drawing, but im making my kid self proud now <3 also i might post my new stickers at some point, i still havent made a pinned post lol but someday, you know so yeah, if anyone's reading this, ty lol TLDR: if you draw, write, sculpt, whatever, anything, and you tend to do fanart, ask yourself if you're fanarting a bit too much, if there's a way of turning your love for these characters/worlds into something different and more you.

holds out hands . may i hear your oc lore
since this is a sequel to this unanswered ask from my main

ill give you my agents (and 2 related ocs) bc giving you all the ocs in one post will be really hard i have SO MANY. too many. ANYWAY sillies under cut!!!
lets start with 3 because thats where the timeline starts
heres a p old timeline drawing thingy that still holds up i think

yeah just read through it. holds up. three is mostly the target of self projection lmao.
smore fun facts ab them:
they were team callie in the s1 final fest
they are wildly competitive
they sleep with an eyemask on bc the scrred eye glows in the dark (it bothers eight)
they value abilities over looks on gear so most their outfits are atrocious unless someone forces them to look good.
they can speak octarian
if they had a penny for every time they let an octarian who just got to inkopilis live with them theyd have two pennies. which isnt a lot but its weird it happened twice right?
which brings us to the next one which is actually an octoling oc i made back in like 2016??? def splatoon 1 era. shes been redesigned a bajillion times but the story is mostly the same. after the octavio fight she is also one of those octos who tried to get to inkopolis. this one was found by three who was like. i jave no idea what ur saying ur coming with the the old man totes knows octarian from his divorce. this n that and they teach eachother language and culture and its sweet and cool and they probabyl had some wlw stuff going on until 3 had a wholeass gender crisis

this is her btw. the drawing on the right is more up to date. im still thinking of renaming her. ill never find a name that fits. her original name was marianna but thats too close to marina!!!!!
shes also a fashion designer! she likes to use traditional octarian or military designs in her clothes. her pieces are not meant for turf wars though. shes still in close contact with three, and they hang out a lot. she wants to get three to ask the squid sisters if they could wear some of her clothes on a splatfest. three forgets.
next up!!!!! agent 4. i have two of those. they independently became agent 4 and then unrelatedly also became college roommates.

hash is more of a canon adjacent agent 4. poser, loser, really dramatic and really loud. kidna does whatever they want and also likes to leave graffitti on the kettles they clear. theyre also an only child. they also call marie mom jsut to annoy her. also their hairstyle is the bob in the front but the back is spiky/shaved. theyre a silly lil punk.
ikarus is a cynical asshole. and also a self centered poser whos set on looking cool for whoevers watching. he has 2 younger siblings and 1 older sister. hes from outside greater inkopolis, thinks hes better than the in city inkopolitans but behaves the exact same. he sucks i love him. he really looks up to n respects marie bc she reminds him of his elder sister. his fav brand is toni kensa
ikarus got the agent job first, n got rlly mad when they found out that theres another agent 4 bc he didnt show up enough nd marie just hired someone else. they share a uniform. they try to annoy eachother by puttinf the weirdest smelling stuff in the uniform b4 leaving it at the canyon. when talking ab em as agent 4 i like to use #4 for hash and n°4 for ikarus
the two also have a 3rd roommate

she doesnt have a name though. and if she does i forgot it :(
the three actually make a pretty good unit in their apartement. hash and ikarus only find out theyre both agent 4 when its time for the boss fight and both of them show up to get it done with. theyre both very competitive. they end up fighting over it and hash wins. ikarus is on the truck w sheldon and marie and is yelling insults at the battlefield until marie shuts him up so she can sing.
thw three roommates also always do salmon run shifts together. if they fuck up on a wave they always blame it on the one freelancer. yes they also kiss.
for eight i actually made this ref here recently!
theyve always been really fascinated with inklings and also were going to become an engineer before running off and landing in the metro.
they are very well spoken but also pretty shy. they try to make a good impression on people. finds it hard to trust others.
it took a while until he got used to sleeping in a bed. still sleeps with an eye open sometimes. its a habit.
theyre usualyl the one forcing three into at least okay looking clothes. oh also this tall loser likes to wear heels n platforms. hes literally taller than marina and still wears heels.
he actually started learning inklish back in octo valley from really outdated books. after coming to inkopolis hes been given a buncha annotated language books from marina (and from three, who still had the ones they used w the other octo girlie). but they still end up using some really old phrases and words that kinda leave some people perplexed.
oh also they're not THAT good at fighting (they were never a soldier) theyre smart and persistent though. still ended up severely in debt w pearl bc of the metro. pearl offered he can just work as stage crew for off the hook for a few tours or so and theyre good. he took the offer immediately bc bro barely got income to repay that all normally.
#whew that was barely organized but ummm yayyyy thats them!!!!#i have WAY more ocs but these are the agentssss#keep asks coming!!!!!#agent 4#agent 3#agent 8#ikarus#hash#eight#three#splatoon agent ocs#splatoon agents#new squidbeak splatoon#splatoon oc#splatoon#fin scratching

Don't Be Quick to Judge the Acolyte (A Star Wars Opinion Piece)

I have always loved Star Wars. Ever since being introduced to the original trilogy as a kid, I have been a massive fan of this legendary sci-fi franchise. From one of my all-time favorites The Clone Wars, to the more recent shows like The Mandalorian, I always get a sense of joy and excitement whenever a new piece of Star Wars media is introduced or announced. Of all the related projects set to come out this year, the one that has intrigued me the most, is the live-action series "The Acolyte". First announced back in 2020, all of the details that I have heard regarding this series I find fascinating. A mystery thriller set during the High Republic Era, with an emphasis on showing the perspective of the Sith and drawing influence from martial arts movies. Some of these details are the things that really drew me towards it. Aside from its main space opera trappings, Star Wars has been known to explore various sub genres, especially in some of their most recent projects. These details alone have me both excited and curious to see what this series will bring to the table.
However, while I wait in anticipation, I noticed that not everyone seems to share the same feelings as me. On the internet, there has been plenty of negative discourse towards the series, mostly towards a few of the casting choices and the creatives involved in the series. It honestly still kind of baffles me as to why people are so quick to be so judgmental on a series that isn't even out yet. I guess what I'm trying to say is that maybe we shouldn't be so quick to judge this series.
As someone who has seen a lot of movies and TV shows, I always like to approach everything with an open mind. I don't judge something based on what I want it to be, rather I just take it for what it is, regardless of how it ends up turning out. The same can certainly be said for Star Wars. I've been aware of the discourse surrounding the controversial sequel trilogy. Though I didn't outright hate them like some people did. When I saw each one in the theater, I just took them as they came, paying no mind to the nitpicks or flaws unless some people point them out afterwards.
When it comes to a massive IP such as this one, you're bound to have some people who will dislike or disagree with some of the narrative choices you make. Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but that doesn't mean that we should say hateful things just for kicks, nor should we let some people influence how you feel about something. I've heard some people say that there is a fine difference between "good" and "fun". I don't want to name names here, but I will say that even if some parts of Star Wars aren't perfect, it can still be fun to watch. Sometimes there are even parts of Star Wars that are both good and fun, the original trilogy being an obvious example.
Look, if I'm being honest, I don't like trash-talking Star Wars because, at the end of the day, it does still mean a lot to me. Plus, to their credit, some of the newer stuff under Disney have had some hits here and there. The best example I can bring up is Andor, the prequel/spin-off to Rogue One. I remember when it was first announced, people weren't really as enthused about it, some even saying things like "nobody asked for this!". Then, the trailers dropped, and it began to draw people towards it. When the series officially dropped, it turned out to be a big hit with both critics and audiences.
With all that being said, I believe that the same thing might happen with The Acolyte. I have a feeling that the show might surprise us when it drops and turn out to be a hit. Of course, we don't know for sure, but until then, I say we should at least give this one a chance. Let's not be so quick to judge it.

oh the woes of having multiple hobbies....
i think it being artfight month is making me sink back into the 'i shouldn't want to do anythin but draw until this is done' mood i usually have during the semester which is.. ick, kinda
the other day i had the urge to write (unmedicated too!! that doesn't happen very often anymore!) and i should've jus acted upon that but i ended up guilttripping myself w the whole 'you should do art instead its only 30 days its only once a year' which is already so suffocating. i ended up doing neither actually in part bc i psyched myself out abt making a choice so in the nd i made no choice (typical when unmedicated so this is the okay-ish norm tbh) and think i tired myself out enough to go to sleep. i woke up to an art file on my laptop so i intented to start smth i guess
also i think checking out an ipad from campus during the semester is so much easier to draw on vs the hassle that is drawing on my display tablet these days. i miss my wacom if only bc it was wireless and thin and easy to power on and get going. with this new tablet i have to plug in 3 diff cords and its bulkier nd i gotta scoot my laptop on my desk to still be in reach bc the tablet has no touch function and it takes A LOT of power and effort out of my laptop thats 12 yrs old now. it makes drawing digitally that much more of a chore tbh and is partially the reason i've doodled so much traditionally in the past year and kept all my digital art for uni work only
which another point. is uh. idk i think i'm rambling now but. last year i got super excited for artfight and drafted a bunch of stuff digitally and was sitting at the coffee table in the main room of my apt for the first time in so long and it was going well until i got rly into tetherverse again n started working on the sequel like mad and that stole away a lot of my drawing motivation. i had two handfuls of of artfight attacks sketched and only ever finished a SINGLE one last year which was terribly disappointing. and then i think realizing that at the end of the month absolutely killed my desire to work on the writing project i'd grown so passionate about too. vicious cycle all around rly.
i dont want it to be llike that this year but once again now that artfight is here even tho its a fun thing i've made it a "requirement" in my mind which kills all my passion to work on it. i think the term is... obligation? when something turns from doing it for fun into an obligation i Have to complete then i lose allllllll motivation and desire to do it. it's THEEE reason i'm always telling my dad i could never write books for a living, bc writing is a hobby first nd foremost and although i enjoy it a lot i know as soon as i become tied down to a project and i Have To complete it or face consequences then it will suck all the fun out of it
this is the same way for school and part of the reason uni's been so hard since.... ever, really, and it's jus taken me long to realise it. i get really into an art project at the start and then as deadlines and check-ins and such creep up i become less and less engaged. i have no trouble completing things in one sitting if given the time to do so if i'm 100% invested and engaged. during spring break 2022 i stayed up for almost three nights and two days and did nothing but research and write almost 25k for a fic opener. if i had work or anything else those days i literally cannot recall. the only thing i remember doing is taking a break to walk 15min to go and pay rent and that's when it rly set in how much caffeine i'd had and how long i'd been up writing.
all of that to say that if i'm into something i can waste away working until it's done. i've said this before bit making a wip folder for art Killed™ my art creating process. i used to have one file open and work on it until it was done, and if that took me more than one full day then i'd sleep on it and finish it the very next day. i don't rmember that happening very often. now i leave things unfinished all the time and its terrible. i also have a Lot Less free time to be fair but also. also. i cannot multitask so as soon as i save a wip and move on to the next it fucking bites the dust. i've gotten into the habit of leaving smth unfinished in another window on csp in hopes that i'll jump bck to it but i stopped that after a while bc i jus collect windows like i collect internet browser tabs.
i also think to go along w the time thing.. i have to mentally acknowledge that i have sufficient time to devote to smth. i'm not the type of person that can do smth for 15 min then jump up and do smth else. if i could write 100 words a day for a fic every day then i'd have far, far less wips than i do now. its harder especially to do this for fic bc a lot of what i do is longer work and sometimes i have to sink into it. if i'm writing for a 50k+ fic i haven't touched for even a month then i need time to go over what i have and what my plans are. it's much harder to work on a longer fic after a bit has passed than it is to pick up a shorter one bc it requires less time to dive back into the world. especially if its been like 6mo-1yr, before i even start writing again i gotta reread everything i've written up to that point. that takes more than a day, and i might get tired and move on to smth else before i've even finished rereading which is so exhausting. it's exhausting to work on so many diff things at once.
with art that means i gotta have time to fight w my display tablet and get everything settled. it takes so much work and effort that if i only have a couple hours, i feel like even that's not enough bc i know i'll have to stop before i'm done. if it takes me 90 minutes to get into drawing and i gotta be ready to leave in another 30 then like whats???? the point rly???? that's how i think tho!!!! it sucks !!!!! if i'm up at 8am but ik i have smth to do at 5p then my whole day revolves around that thing happening in 9 hrs. when it hits 12p i theoretically have enough time to do smth but executive dysfunction makes it hard to pick a singular task to prioritize, and when its 3hrs away from w/e i have to do suddenly nothing is worth it anymore. i'm very much a 'sink into it' creative person which means i cannot jus dive in and work on smth. i gotta have music, i gotta have some focus, i gotta be comfortable, i gotta have my mood set to w/e i'm doing, i gotta know what direction i'm going in,a nd i gotta have energy and enthusiasm to do said creative task. all of that aligning w/ inattentive adhd is so hard and makes life so miserable, but this is compounded even moreeeeeee by not being able to work unless i make my mind feel like i have ample time to do so. mainly bc if i get rly into smth then have to stop for an obligation that i'd rather do less (mainly work! rather would do anything but work but alas) than what i'm doing currently then it drains all my energy very rapidly and i get so disappointed. w/e i'm doing after, whether it be work or class or w/e, is with an air of such disdain bc it interrupted the 'special thing i was doing' that it makes life hell in all honesty. i want to put myself thru that the least amount of times possible which is why i never start anything i know i'll have to put down w/o being able to finish. let me rephrase that. being able to finish as i'd like it. working on a super long fic but writing enough for a chapter or running out of steam on my own and finishing a scene and then being dragged away to smth else is fine, bc i've "finished" on my end even if not in full. it's being interrupted in the middle of the process when i'm not ready to quit, basically. that kind of "finished" is what i mean. if i have 2 hrs and it takes me an hr to find references and i'm not exhausted after that then another 20m to sketch smth decent and only with like half an hr or so left am i into what i'm doing then what's the point?? especially when, as established, i can push a drawing into the wip folder and forget abt it if i'm no longer "into it" when i'm back and have time to draw again.
long rambling i'm tired of but basically it's the season of drawing obligations again and i wanna try this year to have fun and do what i want but ALSo not feel guilty abt doing smth that is not drawing for other ppl, which i already do so much of year round anyway (i love it, this is not a complaint). i wanna be able to write and play pkmn and read and do whatever and not feel like i Have to be artfighting every second of the day.
