Under the Cut: Role in the Plot, Introduction, Official Questions answered Part 1 & 2

Role in the Plot: NPC / Secondary Rival

- will investigate murders and murder attempts (turns up after murder and failed attempt) - will try to protect everyone (after failed murder attempt: guards the intended victim, no matter who it is) - {NEW} will not guard Azul, because she knows that he has enough strong guards and they don't like each other (but would still guard him, if he had no one else to help him, very hypothetically)- will intervene in fights if she comes across them (tries to stop the fight, so no one gets injured/killed) - will try to stop a murder attempt, if she walks in on it (fights the attacker and tries to capture them) - will sneak/run away, if someone has a gun (Undine knows what she's made of and that she can't win against that)

Introduction

In this AU, she moved with her family from Germany to whereever this school is, while her friends stayed back in Germany, so she is on her own at this school (still in contact with them though). Her family is actually political very right and hates foreigners, so they also hate to be foreigners, but one parent got such a great job opportunity here, you know: money. At any rate, Undine tries to be a "good" foreigner and "integrate" (assimilate). So, she prefers to get into fights (only with "bad guys" who "deserve it", of course) after school, to not be bad at school by breaking the rule against fighting there.

Other "values" taught at home are racism and queerphobia. With the bad influence of her parents instead of the good influence of her friends, Undine believes in these "values" much more. By mouthing off about her outdated and cruel points of view, Undine has ruined her own reputation at this school.

Her desire to be heroic and popular (even stronger in this AU) is constantly thwarted by herself. It's not just that she ends up discriminating students in her mindset to look down on differences to put herself higher, she also comes across as annoying, ignorant and patronizing when she tries to help people with little daily struggles (because there are so little big stuggles at this lame, mundane school).

While it is unclear, if Jade really has a romantic interest in Undine (as rumour has it, but that rumour could easily be false), he is certainly interested in the contradiction between her heroic kindness and her villainous rude side and the resulting "entertaining behaviour". Undine is curious, if the rumour is true, but won't ask Jade outright. She wouldn't risk to get rejected by someone she doesn't even have a crush on. Goes against her pride.

In an AU, where she is not at a disadvantage with others having magic, but she herself not, Undine is pretty strong. She won't admit it, but her motivation to get stronger in the Martial arts club isn't just her wish to be heroic and save people, but also her less heroic lust for power (which physical strength is).

Her close friends call her "Dini" - but she doesn't have any close friends at this school.

I hope Undine isn't too problematic with her discriminatory ways, but I thought if murder is okay, then her misdeeds should not be too hardcore for the AU. Undine can change and learn to be a better person - with some good-influence-friends, patience and learning from mistakes it's possible, even in this AU.

Undine Eisner No Yan Sim AU Q&A Part 1

1. Does your OC have parents or family in the AU? If not, what is their current living situation?

Yes. Undine lives with her parents and has a good relationship with them. Her parents, followers of right-wing populism, are a bad influence, raising their daughter (only child) to be racist, queerphobic etc. The teachers at the school step up and try to teach her to be more tolerant.

2. What are their thoughts on Quartz?

Quartz has an unusual skincolour, so... While Undine doesn't outright bully people with a different skin colour, her racism manifests in a casual form, by her avoiding them, being wary of them and being less kind to them. For example, Undine would help Quartz, if she sees another student bullying/attacking her (unless she knows of a context that justifies it, like... you know... Quartz trying to kill someone), but she wouldn't help her if she fell down or dropped some things, when she would help white students in such little scenarios. Since she is so distant, Undine isn't close to Quartz at all. She barely knows her. Undine has no idea, what she's up to. While Undine isn't crass enough to admit it out loud, she is more suspicious of not-white people, so she will easily suspect Quartz to be a criminal.

3. What is their thoughts and relationship with Azul? How did they meet Azul?

Undine has no respect for guys who have a harem (which Azul has in this AU apparently, lol). Someone who can't choose and commit isn't worth her (romantic) interest. Normally, Undine stays away from Azul and his admirers. She has actually never met him alone until now and has never had a proper conversation with him. She only knows him from seeing him around and hearing other people's stories about him. She will protect him from harm and danger, but out of principle - Undine will try to save every student, whose life is in danger.

4. What are their relationships with other characters/OCs?

Crowley: If Miss Eisner gets sent to my office one more time for political incorrect commentary, I shall have her put together and hold a presentation about why discrimination is unacceptable and the benefits of tolerance at school. A recording of that will look good on the school's website - I mean it is good to share the resource with the public, so that everyone can learn from it...

Azul: Undine is easily one of the most foolish students here, very naive and narrow-minded. I don't like people like her.

Vil: Undine is a perfect example of someone who has neither skill nor talent in acting. Unfortunately, she tries to put up her nice-girl-act every day, despite that. It's so bad, that no one could fall for it...

Ace: Yeah, Undine is really way too nice. She just agrees to help me with everything I ask of her, as long as I don't want her food or ask her to go throw my trash away. I found out that her limit of taking requests from the same guy is two per day, then she catches on that she gets used as maid and gets snappy, hehe.

6. What is your OCs goal for the school year or in life?

Get good grades, do good, be heroic.

7. Your OC is being framed for murder of another student by Quartz, how does your OC react to that? Does your OC know it's Quartz?

Outrageous! Undine will prove her innocence and look for the real killer! If she knows who framed her, she can guess the killer is also Quartz.

8. Your OC notices Quartz carrying a weapon in her skirt pocket. That's strange since the female school uniforms don't have skirt pockets. Does your OC report this?

Yes.

9. Where is your OC usually with or at during school? Classes? With Azul? Skipping class? Where do they eat lunch?

Undine doesn't skip class. She eats lunch in the cafeteria. She is usually alone.

10. How are your OC's grades?

Overall good, but nothing special. She's failing English, because she is too far beneath the first language level, that is taught here.

(No Yan Sim AU) Questions for OCs part 2!

1. What is their magic level? What type of magic are they’re best at?

She does her best with the potential she has, Undine wishes to be more powerful of course. She has no Ultimate Magic (yet?) and sticks to the basics, using the four elemental types. While she is decent with all four elements (nothing unusual), Water is her strongest.

(Fun fact: The OG version of Undine does not have magic.)

2. If your OC is magicless, how do they defend themselves from someone attacking them with magic? Are they good at fighting?

Undine is not on the strong side of the power scale for her magic alone. She is good at physical fighting and has an attack style that includes both magic and physical attacks, with a practised sequence that will throw guys, who try to make out a simple attack pattern in her fighting style off. Undine tends to evade spells as much as she can, because that way she can use less of her limited magic for defense.

3. Your OC stumbles upon a dead body a few feet outside of the school. Do they report it?

4. Which elimination tactic is preferred to use on them?

Misleading of her investigation - after Undine catches a wrong "killer" (ideally a rival), she will also stop guarding any rival target.

If Undine accuses Quartz - just say she's being racist again. Everyone will buy that that's all there is to her suspicions, unless she has solid proof.

If you want to eliminate her as rasicst/queerphobe, the best tactic is to befriend her and change her ways through a good influence.

5. How are your OCs outside of school? Do they have jobs?

Undine has no job, so she just enjoys her free time outside of school. She consumes media about heroes at home as her hobby. She will blaspheme about schoolmates much more at home with her parents (who encourage such "criticism") than at school.

6. How social is your OC? Do they stray away from crowds?

Outgoing, but judgemental - it's complicated. Crowds don't bother Undine, she may join the crowd if it revolves around something she likes, like some delicious food in the cafeteria or school drama. But she avoids the crowd of Azul and his fans, she finds this crowd stupid and annoying.

7. Which TWST character does your OC believe should have more admirers than Azul?

Undine thinks no one should have as much "simps" as Azul has now, no one needs that many romantic options, that's just ridiculous. Since Azul doesn't commit to one, Undine thinks he isn't worthy of any admirers, so in her opinion, he should have 0.

A bit of a romantic at heart, Undine grants everyone else a love interest, so they may/should have 1.

Everyone except Leona (Undine clashed with him the past, her taking the L of course), he can stay alone for all she cares.

If the Game-Yuu is at the school, Undine will also except this person, because Game-Yuu can't be classified as boy or girl. When it comes to Undine's queerphobia, she tolerates/ignores the sexualities LGB and A, but she is more avoidant of T and I. To her, someone with such a "flaw" is not that admirable. But because there are so many stundents who are gender-queer at the school, Undine gets slowly used to the concept.

If there are the Manga-Yuus at the school, Yuuken, Yuuka and Yuuta, Undine will also think they are more admirable than Azul, because unlike the Game-Yuu she can classify them as boy, girl and boy respectively in her little drawer-brain.

8. What are your OC's weaknesses? Are they easily manipulated? Easily overpowered by?

Undine is too wary to get tricked/manipulated easily. If you try that, she may turn the tables on you.

Undine's favourite persuasion tactic is: "You want (to be) X, and if you do action Y, you will be/get X."

Undine is easily owerpowered by strong magic spells (when you manage to hit her) and a powerful pyscical force (but you have to be very quick too, or else she'll run away when she notices that you are much stronger than her).

9. Why does your OC like their crush?

Well, Undine doesn't have a crush. But here is what she's generally into:

Jade might have a liking for her!

He usually talks with her a little bit, when they cross paths in school. Undine can't tell if Jade is trying to flirt. Isn't it his normal behaviour, that he is talking a bit smooth?

At any rate he likes her enough, to not let someone get away with killing her, so if you eliminate Undine, Jade will will have it in for you.

11. Since reputation and popularity are kind of different, is your OC popular in and outside of school?

In school: Bad reputation, not popular.

Outside: Average citizen, just a stranger to all the other strangers in the city. Barely interacts with people not from school, but makes the same blunders as in school when she does.

Online: Under a pseudonym that is not recognizable as Undine. Has no own content, just exists as follower.

For I must confess my most grievous apologies to the world. How utterly selfish of me, a mere shadow of existence, to dare to draw breath in a society so deeply, so profoundly inconvenienced by the likes of me. You see, being trans? Why, it’s hardly an ordeal at all!

Of course, it does not weigh on me, not in the slightest. It’s not as if my identity is treated like a stain to be scrubbed out or a weed to be plucked from the pristine garden of humanity.

Oh, no, no, no, far be it from me to suggest such a thing.

How terrifying it must be for you, oh brave protectors of the binary! To see me breathing, walking, persisting. An abomination in your orderly little world of pink and blue. I can only imagine the unbearable agony of your fear. You must lie awake at night, staring at your pristine ceilings, haunted by the specter of my pronouns.

I couldn’t possibly comprehend how terribly frightened you all must be of us. Truly, I am sorry to have unsettled you with my mere existence. What a burden it must be to see us, to hear us, to know we walk among you! The audacity! I shudder to think of the terror you feel when we, oh, I don’t know, ask to be called by our names or request not to be killed. Such radical demands, no wonder you’re all quaking in your boots!

Our pain, our suffering, our daily torment? A mere trifle! It’s not as though I wake every morning to find the weight of my identity pressing against my chest. It's not like its a scream buried so deep in my chest that I can feel it scraping my ribs every time I breathe. It’s not like we carry this anguish around like a warm, familiar blanket, clinging to it, wrapping ourselves in it, because at least it stays with us, at least it doesn’t turn away.

But please, tell me more about your suffering. Tell me how hard it is for you to live in a world where people like me exist. Tell me how we threaten your values, your traditions, your fragile sense of reality. Tell me how inconvenient it is to acknowledge that we are human, that we are here, that we are not going anywhere.

Let me assure you, with all the venom we can muster, we will not stop fighting and we will not stop living, no matter how much it offends you.

Because heres the thing: your fear, your hatred, your desperate, grasping need to erase us? It is nothing. It is hollow. It is the pathetic whimper of a world that knows it is dying.

Like I do think Gen X having to come to grips that Gen Z and Alpha don't think they're cool anymore is something that's been on the horizon for awhile now, especially since the 2010s was dominated by Gen X's nostalgia and attitudes. While I recognise that the portrayal of Mrs Bennet in Pride and Prejudice (1995) is far from faithful to her character in the novel and it arguably did irreparable damage to how she is perceived by the general public... I really love Alison Steadman so, personally, I can overlook the inaccuracies and enjoy her performance.

Admittedly, it's entirely because of a British sitcom called Gavin and Stacey; her character in that is a similarly frazzled mother, so I sort of view her interpretation of Mrs Bennet as RegencyAU!Pam from Gavin and Stacey rather than an attempt to be a faithful portrayal of book!Mrs Bennet.

She's an amazing actress with great comedic timing and many quotable lines. Two of my favourites from Gavin and Stacey are:

I mean, I can totally imagine Mrs Bennet getting some juicy Meryton gossip and exclaiming, 'it's all the drama, Mr Bennet. I just love it!' while he ignores her completely and carries on reading...

Undine in "magikey AU" by @quartztwst

Sorry, no specific attacks, I thought about it and didn't get any idea for a move that really fits her.

I have a backstory instead:

This is the same version of Undine that was already in the No Yandere Sim AU, she got isekaid into this world when the big bomb exploded the entire school at the end. Just a normal day at school for her and then - BANG - she feels disoriented for a moment as she wakes up in a gate. Crowley opens the gate and tells her that the Dark Mirror summoned her here for a reason, to become one of his magical people!

It takes a while for Undine to understand what happened to her and everyone else at the school, as well as that she is in a different world now, where her family and friends don't exist. She is naturally furious at whoever killed her and lots of innocent people with that bomb! If she ever finds that villain, she will get revenge justice will be served.

Soon, Undine comes across a group of her classmates from the previous world. She runs up to them and tells them that she is happy they survived the bomb as well - but they don't know what she is talking about, they don't even recognize her and deny that they went to school with her. Undine has to wonder, if her classmates have lost a part of their memories, or if these people are alternate versions of her classmates, native to this world, and her true classmates are dead after all.

Is she the only one who has gotten isekaid? Is she the only one who remembers another world?

Perhaps that can be her chance to start over with these familar faces. After all, in the previous world Undine has has ruined her own reputation at school by mouthing off about some outdated and cruel points of view. But this time she'll do better! Her plan: "Woke people can't be reasoned with anyways, so I'll just keep my opinions to myself to not upset those sensitive weirdos."

Perhaps that way she can get that popularity she always wanted after all! She get's to be a hero like she always wanted as well, it's like living the dream! (If only she still had her friends and family with her! At what a price that dream has come!) And for that power she always wanted... well, Undine just has to figure out what to do with this key! She just has to develop some awesome, powerful, practical, unique signature attacks... yeah, that might take a while and a lot of brainstorming.

Perhaps it will help to see, who the villains are and what they do? Then she can create moves, that counter the enemies on point - wait, aren't those all guys from her old school!? "Why are they even villains?, in the other world they were good students, on the commitee even, really on the right path in life and in no way criminals!"

Undine really has so many questions about what's going on in this world. Among them also how the secret identity thing even works, how people can't recognize her in her magical girl outfit, even though her face is unchanged and on full display. But based on that, choosing her nickname as her magical name shouldn't be a risk...

Skills she still has are basic magic (even without a key) and martial arts. Using that as a starting point, Undine is currently trying to come up with her first attack as an enchanted martial arts move. It's a starting point.

At the same time, she continues to go to school in this world, so that all that studying in the previous world wasn't in vain - she still aims for that graduation.

Kinda deranged rant time, but, I was just thinking.

I've been wondering some time ago, could Thistle be one of the "no sex until marriage" people, because I do think that it is realistic for him to be old-fashioned at least in some ways. And if he was, then that would make the situation with him and Kiera a bit funnier but also sadder.

By that I mean. They have sex for the first time after Thistle locked her up in his house. And I think that, being aware that proper marriage will never happen in their situation, his line of thinking was "well, this is as close as we could ever get to being properly together, so why not". So they fuck (and definitely not just one time), and in his mind it means that now everything is serious and there's no going back, and then Kiera just. runs away. And it was like, GODDAMNIT KIERA, TAKE SOME RESPONSIBILITY, YOU CAN'T JUST TAKE HIS VIRGINITY AND THEN NOPE OUT OF IT!!! (She didn't actually nope out of it, but for Thistle it looked like she did)

No wonder Thistle was so mad at her after that. Her running away was read not just as a rejection, but an outright offence.

MagiKey AU: The Blue Eye‘s Key

Since I didn’t explain my OC’s ability initially and Dini is new to being a magical girl, I take this as an opportunity to explore her navigating the world and figuring out her powers in narration. LONG POST!

Part 1 (+ Status)

with Yuu [MagiKey User "Fragaria"] and Quartz [MagiKey User “Qix Trix”] as supporting characters (I hope you like the surprise-fanfiction of them, if not I apologize.)

Undine was looking out of the window. The view of the city was uncannily familiar. It was almost the same view she had had from her old school and it was almost the same city. But little things were off, like the decorations on the balconies on the house nearby, the design and placement of the bus stop and the graffiti in the neighbourhood. She knew that other places in the city were not as recognizable, after she had read about the villains leaving the sites of their fights with the heroes in ruins as they fled into the dark alleyways: a park, the stadium, the aquarium and more locations… 

The building Undine was in resembled her old school – well, as it had been before that big explosion at the end – from the outside. And it was a school in this world as well, but a foundation orphanage institution at the same time, which was convenient for Undine, because it gave her a roof over her head as a minor without any family. Her family did not get isekaid alongside her here, after all. Undine had considered for a moment that alternate versions of the people she knew, maybe even of herself, could live in this world. After all, she had encountered some alternate versions of some of her old schoolmates. She had tried to log into her account in magicam then, but it hadn’t worked. She had made it anew and searched for her parents online, but there was no sign of their existence in this world, either. Looking at the uncanny city, Undine thought that perhaps she preferred it that way, because meeting her family in this world would likely be just as off and her real family was irreplaceable.

“Man, she’s still standing there and staring at the street. Just staring”, she could hear a vaguely familiar voice remark.

Undine turned around and saw Quartz, a girl she recognized from her old school. She was wearing a different school uniform, but aside from that Undine somehow got a notably different vibe from her. She couldn’t quite put her finger on it, but it was not in a bad way?

But who was that beside her?

Undine’s brain performed the old and from the very beginning of her upbringing instilled method of classifying a new person as male or female – based on the uniform this was a girl. But what was with that face? Just a black void with yellow- no way, it had to be a mask, right? Perhaps there was even another familiar face underneath? – Undine was staring, as she thought this, too puzzled to look respectfully.

“Hey, new kid! Hi! I’m Yuu!”, spoke the mysterious one with a surprisingly cheerful voice, that threw her off even more.

“My name’s… Undine”, Undine answered a bit dazed.

“Oh, I am an entity, if you are wondering about my face, where I originate from: unknown, I’m a citizen of Sage City as far as I can remember, though. And my pronouns are they/them! What are yours?”

Undine swallowed and bit her lower lip for a short second. To make sure the thoughts that stirred up in her mind at that did not get out, as they had had in the past.

(They, them, it, yeehaw, all that woke- then again, a weird entity can really be built differently without a simple sex-)

“I’m just a she/her”, Undine said and pulled her mouth into a slight, intended to be friendly smile, that didn’t reach her eyes.

“And this is Quartz”, introduced Yuu.

“Ayo”, added Quartz. “It doesn’t matter if you’re black or white hell you can even be yellow!”

“Okay”, uttered Undine, confused about the turn of the conversation for a moment.

Was that bait to check if she was a racist? Undine supposed that racists were a big topic for Quartz with her strangely gray skin and for Yuu as well, because they were targets for them. They probably had gotten harassed many times over the years, it made perfect sense that Quartz was wary of strangers.

Well, Undine clearly wasn’t a threat then. Sure, there had been some dumb statements from her in the past, that had been kind of racist back at her old school. But she had never bullied people. And the incidents in which she had made certain comments on beastmen had definitely gotten stopped at that school, her teacher had really put his foot down there and taught her some better manners.

Well, she had not made any comments to beastmen, but about them… At home that was just something that came up in the family conversations. It was normal that Undine’s parents slandered their co-workers and Undine herself her schoolmates as they talked about their day. And she had to learn to not bring that kind of talk with her to school.

She wasn’t doing anything bad to anyone anymore, nowadays. So her days of mildly being a racist were behind her. It’s only a crime if you use the weapon to hurt someone, not when you hide it at home. Unless the weapon itself is already illegal, like an unlicensed gun. But then it’s also racism, when- when not even an analogy can change the image.

Damn!

If Undine was completely honest with herself, she would be a lot more comfortable in this conversation, if she was talking with normal people. She knew that was morally wrong of her. She wanted to turn it off, but couldn’t find a light switch in her inner darkness.

Practice, she thought to herself. Fake it till you make it. Act normal, until it starts to feel normal.

What was this life in the new world, if not a second chance? Undine wanted to be better than before, to finally live up to some basic moral standards.

Especially, because she was supposed to become a real heroine now. If she thought about it, whoever had summoned her (Crowley?) had made a bold choice to give her a magical key before she had completed her redemption. Perhaps that was, why she hadn’t figured out what her powers were and how to use them yet? Because she wasn’t ready to be a heroine.

Determination filled Undine. She wanted to do better, she wanted to become worthy, to become good.

She tuned back in to the conversation. Luckily for her, the others hadn’t noticed her introspection break, because Quartz was talking about school or something: “-and the teacher had enough and went on a rant about smartphones making students stupid, Professor crashed out.”

“The teachers at my old school saw smartphones as their, our, the school’s worst enemy”, said Undine to contribute something. “Turns out it’s something else, because I don’t think a smartphone was what blew up the school in the end.”

“Blew up the school?”, repeated Yuu, clearly unnerved about this story.

“Hm, yes, I hope it doesn’t happen to this school, too”, meant Undine and added a “But surely that is very unlikely. I feel safe here.”

She had not planned to bring that up, but it had just come up. The need to yap about a traumatic event, probably.

“Damn, that’s a sick story. But yeah, you’re as safe as can be here”, spoke Quartz. “We have some really good magical people in our area, heh.”

“I know!”, agreed Undine. “I’ve already looked the local heroes up. They’re so cool!”

From there on they had a nice chat about magical people, Undine even learned some new details from the fans. It was pleasant, even though a thought irritated Undine at the back of her mind: She was not one of the good and cool ones.

Undine was barely a magical girl. Sure, she had a key, but she failed to unlock any special abilities with it, so far. It had been two weeks of trying now, and still no progress. She knew, that most magical people figured it out pretty immediately and that she was failing to meet the expectation. Disappointing.

So, when she was at the school for magic users later that day, she was determined to give it her best, while sparring with some senior magical girls. While her martial arts and basic elemental magic spells were on point, she still lost every round against various other students, always getting done in by the special abilities of her opponents.

“Wooaahh”, she gushed in a state of awe, magically bamboozled, as Qix Trix pulled out a long line of tied scarves – and got tied up with the textiles right away.

Undine had the feeling that she was learning a lot about the abilities of her colleagues during these spars. They were inspiring. Undine did not want to copy someone else’s special ability, but at that point she would settle for something that was very basic and similar to moves that other people had.

As soon as she was untied again, Undine announced that she would try something. She gripped her key and thought of superheroes with super strength in her favourite shows, about the way the would throw powerful punches at their opponents. Enhance my strength, she ordered the key in her thought, before she went up against Fragaria, a user known for great strength (and who was also the same sort of lifeform that Yuu was, so that was just a species that existed in this world).

It was no good, Undine’s punches were the same as always. She could tell that Fragaria was holding back, so she wouldn’t hurt her. Fragaria was way out of Dini’s league and this fight was also over soon, with Undine beaten into submission. Perhaps Undine was holding back herself and that was the whole problem, after all she didn’t want to hurt any of her peers here either or genuinely fight them in the first place. The respect and admiration she had for all these people she saw as heroes could hold her back here.

“I’m sure you will figure it out soon. We can all see you doing your best”, said Fragaria and gave Undine a strawberry along with the encouragement, a magical strawberry that was part of her powers.

Undine said thanks and ate it. Only then she felt stronger than before, from someone else’s power. That left a bitter aftertaste.

After the sparring session she went to see Crowley and asked him, if there was an opportunity to fight weak villains, who were a challenge but not way too much for her beginner level.

After lamenting about her being a difficult student and bragging about himself being oh so very patient and generous, Crowley gave her the advice to go to a cemetery.

“I’ll try to learn at the job and go to the cemetery tomorrow”, Dini relayed to her teacher.

“Who is coming with you?”, asked the instructor.

When Undine explained that Crowley sent her there alone, so that she would get the challenge she needed to unlock her powers from the weak enemies that were expected to be there, the teacher frowned, but didn’t disagree.

But as soon as Dini had left, he pulled someone with more power and experience aside and asked: “Could you watch over Dini tomorrow with discretion and step in to help, if she gets overwhelmed by the enemies at the cemetery?”

The answer was affirmative.

“Becoming a heroine is my childhood dream. This is different than I had dreamt it, the reality is more brutal than a sweet fantasy, with the power comes the danger and the responsibility. And yet sometimes it is much on point, I can feel like I’m living in a superhero-story.”

(Undine is a fan of the superhero genre, but hasn’t consumed any media of the magical girl genre at all, so she misunderstands what genre she’s in.)

Age: 17

As Undine: A quiet girl, who pays attention in school and gets good grades. She is up for making small talk with some classmates and peers at the orphanage. When invited to join a game or some other event, she comes when she has the time and energy to do so.

As Dini: A magical girl, who likes to be prepared. She studies her enemies and allies, memorizing their moves with cue cards. Her fellow MagiKey users know her as a late bloomer and have noticed her strong (beginner’s?) determination. While rather quiet in social situations, Dini speaks up to share her thoughts on strategy and opponents. She can get rather vocal with the opponents and insult them during a battle, weaponizing her awareness that her words can upset others.   

Mental/Emotional Strength: ★★★☆☆ (It was hard on her to lose her family and friends as she had gotten isekaid. After some time and making new friends, she will get better in this area thanks to emotional support.)

Physical Strength: ★★★★☆ (Once Dini unlocks the ability to magically boost her strength, she will have all five stars when she actively uses it. Even without it, she is on the strong side, thanks to her training in the Martial Arts Club in the previous world.)

Stamina: ★★★★☆ (The fourth star is due to sheer determination. Dini can push herself to her very limit, but she will be very exhausted afterwards.)

Strategy: ★★★★☆ (Dini can use her knowledge of her enemies and allies to come up with a plan. She is also quick to spot opportunities and make the best of them. While it is good that she doesn’t trust everyone, she can be a little bit too distrustful, too secretive and therefore she can come across as distant and hard to click with.)

Popularity: ★★☆☆☆ (While Dini is not disliked by people, her peers don’t find her very endearing or awesome either. Since she is still new to being a magical girl, the public does not know her yet.)

Strengths: Aside from her fighting skills, Undine can also be diplomatic. She can mediate when there are quarrels within her team and make convincing arguments for people to join her team in the first place.  

Weaknesses: Her old flaws are still there, her narrow-minded judgemental worldview and her desire for power. While she usually has these thoughts under control (doesn't act upon them) and overpowered by her morals, they could resurface if she gets pushed too far.
