Today, TDI Tumblr, I’ve come to rant about Alejandro and how YOU GUYS TREAT HIM.

Alejandro is 18, allowing him to just BARELY pass as a young adult. Despite him still being so young, he is often sexualized due to his looks and personality.

The princess bride is an incredible movie but I have to say my very favorite scene is the sword fight between Westley and Inigo. (I fence so this scene is one of my all time favorites) Anyway what I’m proposing is that Andrew learned to fence growing up and kept at it. First because it would be very cool and second because I think everyone should fence especially gay royalty.

So. I drew it obviously but i also love the idea of this being one of Nathaniel and Andrew's first close encounters. So I also wrote it here, thank you SO MUCH for your tips on how fencing works and i hope it doesn't mess it up too bad that I switched around some of the rules, we'll say it's Palmetto's traditions 💕😅

And actually I think this it's how Nathaniel gets to be Andrew's bodyguard in the first place. You guys read the ideas below and tell me if you agree or not bc honestlyyyyyyy 👀

The first thing Andrew notices is that Nathaniel listens. He didn't expect to be taken seriously with "Don't come back until you're equal in the sport". Or he expected Nathaniel to come back time and time again to challenge him until he finally beat Andrew by luck or sheer probability. But the next time Day tries to hand Andrew's fencing off to Nathaniel again, Nathaniel declines (which infuriates Day in his usual huffy attitude but thats besides the point).

When Day goes over to question Nathaniel on it where he's leaning on the fence - again just watching - Nathaniel only says "I'm not good enough yet." Not "the prince ordered it" or "I'm not allowed to". It seems like he really is just listening to what Andrew said.

Day tries to say he's fine, he needs work but he's getting better. He won't get "good" without more practice. But Nathaniel only shakes his head.

Andrew finds this horribly interesting.

So Nathaniel keeps practicing with Day and maybe some others - maybe he gets to practice against some soldiers and he meets Matthew Boyd, the infantryman the myth the legend (was that even a rank back then I can't remember. Probably). Until finally, a good while later, Nathaniel actually manages to beat Day. They're both surprised, but time and time again Nathaniel proves he's at almost equal skill. And if he's equal to Day, he has a chance against Andrew.

Andrew's first hint that something has changed is that Day actually asks Nathaniel again - he'd stopped trying after a second refusal. The next is that Nathaniel actually accepts.

It's exhilarating to have Nathaniel on the other end of his challenge once more. It takes more clear prompting, but he even has Nathaniel talking again, though less boldly than the last time. He enjoys it (by Andrew's terms in a sport he still considers halfway useless) as much as he had the first.

Nathaniel wins fair and square.

After that, seeing Nathaniel take his words so literally and respect them and then best him in fair hand-to-hand combat? Andrew knows exactly who to ask for when Day's finally had enough of being his stand-in guard.

Slightly late to the Madara madness but I’m dragging it back into conversation because you’ve reminded me of the sheer amount of emotions I have about Madara’s first appearance to Alkaloid (and audience to a degree)

The gang just got done having an encouraging talk with each other and then Hiiro’s immediately like “speaking of communicating with each other I should tell you there’s some spooky ass energy going on behind that door” and Tatsumi opens it to protect the others, is greeted by the fucking hulk who tells him his name but that says they can just call him mama. He then takes one look at Tatsumi and decides “oh I could probably pick you up” and just. Does it. And then puts him back down when he asks because Tatsumi knows if he didn’t Hiiro would start biting people. Then IMMEDIATELY transitions into trying to get hired by the boys to train them because thwarting Eichi sounds fun, sees Mayoi and again IMMEDIATELY transitions into “man if only one of your buddies here happened to be a cryptic ass dance instructor. They should totally dance battle me about it not because I took one look at them and decided I was allowed to be the only schizophrenic in the room but for your guys’ stake… please” and then he gets his ass handed to him and just. Doesn’t leave. And continues to just watch them practice.

Now for something literally completely unrelated I don’t know too much about Chiaki but the more I look at him the more I just see the anti Madara/Mayoi. With them on the “If I form an even slightly close relationship with someone I have to return to nature until they forget my existence” and him on the “If I don’t leave our very first conversation with their number, an address and an itinerary for our week hangout next month I did it wrong” end

HE DID IT CUZ HE KNEW MAYOI WOULD NEVER OFFER TO BE THEIR OFFICIAL TRAINER OTHERWISE AND IF HIS PLAN BACKFIRES THEN HE GETS TO MESS W EICHI . SO WIN WIN . BUT OFC HE DOES IT IN THE MOST ROUNDABOUT WAY POSSIBLE. GOD.

also yes chiaki and madara being foils was definitely intentional . chiaki is everything madara hoped to become as a kid and what he wishes he couldve been now, as well as a living reminder of his own shortcomings. chiakis presence also reinforces and draws attention to madaras social alienation by highlighting how when madara was exiled, he left all sorts of holes in the lives of his friends and family that chiaki has now filled in his absence— ryuseitai captain*, the reliable bright kid his family (and kanatas family) saw him as that granted him his position as kanatas caretaker, someone his friends can count on, and most importantly, kanatas hero.

* madara himself handed down the position of captain to chiaki when he left ryuseitai, but part of that choice (as well as the choice to isolate himself and become a solo unit) was him acknowledging chiaki is better suited to the role and finally surrendering after years of fighting to become what chiaki currently is, and accepting his fate (or more accurately what he believes his fate to be) of being past his point of usefulness, now destined to be alone, biding his time and waiting until his death after having failed the one purpose he believes he was born to fulfill (saving kanata). tldr; madara handed chiaki the role of ryuseitai captain because he believed chiaki was better suited to the role and to denote that hes given up on himself (hence his reasoning for forming double face and taking the risks he does: having nothing left to lose now that hes already lost everything. but thats getting into a different topic so i digress)

im watching the 5 hunters finale and i wondered, people often write fics about dream in manhunt afterwards or during it, or draw it, you get it. and people often come up with like meanings behind it

i just thought, what if (canonically, if that term could be applied) manhunt!dream is a human the gods deemed to be too strong or powerful or something, and they forced him into this manhunt, to see how strong he really is? they make him beat the dragon but they make him fight a god at the same time. first george, then they bring in sapnap, then bad, ant, sam. all of them gods, all of them willing to try and kill him and see how strong this mortal is. but dream wins each and every grand finale matchup, so after the fifth one, the gods decide he really is this strong, as a mortal, or maybe they decide to turn him into a god, and thats how dreamxd was born. who knows?
