This year has definitely been a year. I've devoured so many wonderful fics by so many amazing authors. Thank you @hprecfest for the super fun rec categories and for some fic inspiration! Here are 23 fics that I read and loved in 2023 (although some are quite a few years older) ordered by ship.

1. A post-canon fic

The Discreet Gentleman's Connection by pluto (gayrights420) [Drarry, E, 80.4k] 🌼🔥 I had the absolute pleasure of beta-ing for this fic, so when I say it is amazing, it truly is just that. Fast burn on the smut via Floo sex, slow burn on the in-person falling in love. Satisfying in all the best possible ways.

2. A fic that made me laugh

AITA for being "obsessed" with my childhood nemesis? by @rainstormradish [Drarry, M, 4.3k] 🌼📲 Draco on a reddit forum is hilarious just on its own, but the banter and formatting really bring this fic to life. Amazingly creative, had me in stitches!

3. A comfort fic

The Eighth Tale by @letteredlettered [Drarry, E, 12.0k] 💔⏳ An oldie but a goodie. I constantly find myself coming back to this fic and having my mind blown every single time. Time travel timey-wimey angst.

4. A fic with art

Dating Draco - A Visual Game by @itsphantasmagoria [Drarry, M, Video Game] 🌼🎮 This is a fic in video game form!! Amazing art and lovely story where YOU get to make the choices for Drarry's happily ever after.

7. An unreliable narrator fic

Sea of White by @dividawrites [Harrymort, E, 8.6k] 🔥🤍 Deliciously hot, creepy, and strangely sweet. Love their dynamic here, the unrestrained lust. Harrymort "die" and lose their memories, so, of course, then they bang.

8. A fic that made me cry

Far Apart, Far Away by @unmistakablyoatmeal [Hinny, minor Drarry, T, 1.6k] 💔💍 Infidelity angst has never been this good. I love the layers of emotion in this fic. Quick punchy sections that really pulled me in.

9. A Muggle(?) AU fic

Pleasant Hope by @ac1d6urn, @sinick [Snarry, E, 41.6k] 💔⛪️ Pastor Severus!! The angst, pining, and self-discovery in this fic is superb! I love the interwoven magic and detailed world-building of this little town.

The Last Trial of Peter Pettigrew by @sleepstxtic [Prongstail, M, 20.8k] 💔 🐀 Holy moly, this fic!!!! Is this my new favorite fic?? Possibly. The concept is brilliant, so creative and nuanced. The Peter character study using outsider perspectives is genius. Seamlessly balances canon and new scenes.

11. A pre-canon fic

Careless by @tax-onomic [Luther, E, 1.5k] 🔥🪞 Lucius/Arthur my beloved rare pair!! I am captain of the Luther ship, and Tax's fic hits all the right spots. The pining, the sniping, the prickly personalities with emotional vulnerability underneath! And all in the middle of a hot smut scene. Perfect.

12. A canon-compliant fic

Scottish by thepadfoots [Chedric, G, 749] 💔🌟 Lovely Cho character study focused around her Asian identity and the boy she loved.

13. A fic rated G (more like T though)

Lion-Hearted Girl by MinnieQuill (odainath) [Minmione, G, 4.5k] 💔🦁 I know the large age gap might scare some, but their relationship feels very organic in this fic. The setting is grim, but there is always hope in the darkness!

Snakeskin by @cntrl15 [Bellastoria, E, 3.7k] 🔥👠 Talk about a rare pair! Astoria/Bellatrix only has 2 tagged fics on AO3: this fic and the drabble I wrote based on it. But read this fic, and you'll see why I felt the need to write more in this universe.

Master of None by @nanneramma [Snormac, G, 5.5k] 🌼🧘 Severus is so wonderfully cranky, and Cormac is fine AF. The surprise pairing of 2023 that I never knew I needed and now I'm obsessed with!

17. An under-rated fic

Sun, Shadow, Shade by @naomijameston [Snuna, G, 700] 🌼☀️ Post-war fluff. Sunshine Luna is the perfect match for sullen Snape. A short and sweet fic for this underrated ship.

18. A canon-divergent fic

but somebody's gotta do it by nocturn [Pangulus, T, 920] 😄🧟‍♂️ This fic will make you say WTF but also huh, okay that totally works. The concept is WILD but Lyra executes it wonderfully. Pansy drags Regulus out of the inferi lake and they flirt a little while he gets de-corpsified lol.

In his embrace by @loneamaryllis [Snarrymort, het!Snarry, E, 48k] ⚡️👀 Dark and dirty but so so good. A Voldemort Wins AU where fem!Harry is taken as prisoner. Snape's mindset as he tries to save her (and is forced to rape her) is so twisted and mesmerizing. Mind the tags!

20. A thought-provoking fic

Icarus by @thistlecatfics [Millvansy, M, 20.0k] 💔🍾 War trauma, addiction, codependency! This fic is messy with emotions but has a strong, beating heart underneath. I am in love with Parvati as she deals with Pansy's addiction and Millicent's denial — three beautiful, imperfect girls.

21. A holiday fic

A Time, Dark and Divine by @moonflower-rose [Dronarry, E, 17.0k] 🔥⛱ HOLY FREAKING FUCK!! The sexual tension in this fic is off the freaking charts. Drarry seducing Ron while on vacation in Portugal. Sign me the fuck up!

12 fics I’ve enjoyed recently…

Last year I did a short-lived “weekly rereads” series to spread love for old favourites that kept me afloat when reading new things became a struggle. I was looking for ways to stay active and contribute to the fandom with minimal effort, and I found solace in revisiting fics that I hold dear in my heart. This year, spring brought the @dronarryfest to pull me back into reading mood. Fandom is starting to speak to me again after a very long time, and the euphoria hit me with inspiration to write this short rec post for my recent reads. I am joining the party a bit late but on the off chance these escaped your radar, here are some fics I’ve really enjoyed during my catch up moment in February/March, and a few I’m planning to dive into next. It’s so nice to be able to write comments and rec blurbs again! What have y’all been reading lately?

HP fics:

Wet Leather by @lqtraintracks (E, 492 words) - Harry/Sirius

I live for LQT’s rare pair drabbles especially when it’s for my beloved Sirry because nobody writes this ship like them. The A+ characterization always takes my breath away: so much tension laced with yearning, it feeds my horniest deepest Sirry cravings tripping between guilt and absolution. This short is full of heat, want and sweet indulgence, with the usual tenderness underneath driving me up the wall and making me soft and hot for these two. Also, “my drenched little pup” excuse sir I’m??? 🥵

Nightswimming by @sweet-s0rr0w (M, 5k) - established Drarry, Dron, implied Dronarry

One of my instant faves this year, what a masterclass in tension building! As always, I’m so impressed by sweets’ short form. The brilliant banter and relentless sexual tension put me at the edge of my seat praying for MOAR. The atmosphere is so captivating I could feel the temptation on my fingertips, and have I even mentioned Ron’s spot on voice?? Superb bromance dynamics, late night drive aesthetics, an impressive amount of characterization within 5k and a teasing ending full of promise, come and feast!

Borrowed Time by @the-starryknight (E, 7k) - Dron + Harry

Another delicious Dronarry treat, now showcasing established Dron, body swap, the sexiest UST you’ll see today and an incredibly satisfying payoff. Once again Starry delivers peak romance with their “hot & sweet” trademark mixing compelling dialogue, witty flirting and uncomplicated smut full of want but also trust, understanding and intimacy. Forget the maddening anticipation, the domestic slice-of-life tone made me swoon - the characters are so clearly fond and familiar with each other it’s only natural for them to come together like this.

Heart to Hearth by @jtimu (E, 7k) - Drarry

This fic is a breath of fresh air and I still remember how excited I felt reading it for the first time. I’ll never get tired of seeing Harry get utterly horny confused at an attractive and carefully guarded Draco being competent at his odd yet surprisingly fitting job. Repairman Draco is indeed mouthwateringly efficient with his long hair and coveralls, and their tentative and awkward dynamics are just excellent. Love the subtle humour, the bits of repair magic theory and the earnest slow burn, with a smooth progression towards deliciously indulgent smutty times. Amazing concept, perfectly executed.

Long Haul by @wolfpants (E, 8k) - Drarry

Wolf is killing it lately, loved their Dronarry but this fic stole my heart with the long haul love premise. The image of their encounter - Harry holding his passport between his teeth, Draco with Muggle headphones around his neck - stayed with me the whole night. Harry loves flying and connects with NYC for the same reasons I do, so this fic spoke to me in a very personal way. I love everything from the title and bold flirting to the scorching hot and intimate smut with smooth daddy Draco! Not too long ago I prompted Florence’s “End of Love” for Wireless - unknowingly, Wolf wrote the NYC fic I’ve dreamed about when I thought of it 💜

Permanent by @citrusses (M, 14k) - Drarry, Dron

I’ve always been drawn to time travel and Citrus set up a thrilling, mysterious mood that’s impossible to resist. I was deeply intrigued not only by the plot but also by the complexity of these characters - a belligerent Harry with daddy issues and a saviour complex (yes pls!), edgy and focused Hermione, perceptive and kind Ron charming his way inside our hearts, and a lonely Draco trying to make sense of the plot, handle his feelings and find his foot in the post-war world. I loved being inside his mind - such brilliant characterization - and seeing the golden trio through his eyes. This fic has a wistful, melancholy tone mirroring Draco’s longing for Harry that hit me right in the solar plexus. It is also a great Ron study, and I’ll admit that made me fall even harder for Dron. Finally, it is tender and devastating as all good things are. A brilliant read and an instant favorite.

Dick Chicken by @oknowkiss (E, 15k) - Harry/Draco/Ron

Believe me when I say this is the Seinfeld AU you didn’t know you needed because you don’t wanna miss out on this. Hands down one of the most entertaining fics I’ve read in a while, this is hysterical funny, witty and steamy. The perfect mix of crack-y and casually horny vibes with a quirky Draco, a lovable and relatable Harry, and a hot Ron who’s 100% there for the ride, this chaotic trio will pull you into an unhinged journey and you’re gonna thank them for that 🤣 superb Harry pov, a warm and playful atmosphere that feels intoxicating, and a glorious shower scene followed by a fake orgasm competition. You’re heard it right. Run don’t walk!

Knot Your Average Coworkers by @thecouchsofa (E, 22k) - Drarry

Office romance is my kryptonite and I couldn’t stop giggling as I made my way through this wolf!Draco treat. I was instantly smitten with the charming characters, the delightful silly knotting jokes 🌝 and the good old oblivious friends/coworkers to lovers dynamics that always gets me. Pining Harry wooing Draco through cooking is SO my jam, the perfect mix of sweet comfort & unbearable UST that fills me with joy and anticipation while also wanting to smash their heads together “kiss kiss fall in love” style. Yum!

Cargo Case by @sleepstxtic (E, 23k) - Drarry

This was such an exciting ride, I love the inherent yearning & intimacy of break up/make up stories and this case fic kept me engaged and rooting for Drarry (and Pansy/Parvati!) the whole time. It was wonderful to see them not being antagonistic after a break up for a change - there’s delicious ust, fabulous Draco & Pansy brOTP, not to mention their super cool job. I was as invested in the plot as I was in the romance, and I’ve had a really fun time following them around. Undercover boyfriends for the win!!!!

Truth to Materials by @toomuchplor, lately (E, 54k) - Drarry

Another fabulous plor fic as per, this artist!Draco story immediately won my heart with the hilarious opening scene and the perfect combo of Draco’s “brazen gay” voice and Harry’s “bi panic” mind. What a delight! Love the clever dialogue, the mood so chaotic horny but the humorous tone making me giggle my way through the delicious loo sex scene. Unique premise, great pacing, fantastic cast and charming characterization - this fic is so easy to devour it doesn’t feel like a 50k journey at all. The story is great fun, very engaging but also delivering multiple tender and heartkick-y moments. It checks all my boxes including our king Ron Weasley putting a banana into Draco’s sculptural arsehole 🤣 what else could I ask for?

Skybound by @xanthippe74 (T, 61k) - Drarry

As a longtime fan of Ghibli’s movies, I was over the moon to see one my own faves adapted to fit the HP universe. This is the Howl’s Moving Castle AU we deserve, a light, enchanting and fun read with a lovely smooth Draco and a lovely earnest Harry making such a great pair. I love how Xan played with the original material making adjustments here and there, and giving life to Timpsy, the apprentice elf with a whole subplot involving mistreatment of magical beings. Very sweet and creative read!

I love that this author writes for all of my favorite ships, I feel so spoiled! This is (yet another) banger following the 2nd Dune movie and a fascinating dive into Paul’s fractured mind struggling between his long-standing affection for Duncan and the intrusive thoughts under BG’s influence. So intense, vivid and thought-provoking. I was hooked from beginning to end and deeply immersed in this universe. Love me a fic about emotional implications and complications while delivering excellent character studies, this is the shit I live for right here 🤌🏼

Either because of its campiness and witty banter, its drama, its weirdness, amazing soundtrack and costumes or its diva-like personality taking center stage. Please don't take this poll seriously.

Please don't fight we're literally just ranking the straightest gay movies and transest cis people. The most conforming and queer paradox.

Because of the tendency of this site to call something "gay" just because 2 conventionally attractive men stand next to each other for 5 seconds, I'm not counting shipping possibilities that much. The level of drama, camp and the number drag parodies it has is way more important than possible romantic relationships or sexual tension in submitted films. Also there's ace and aro people voting. Keep them in mind!

It has to be cishet but somehow still queer. Can be the camp, general weirdness, gnc clothes, sassiness, the inclusion of a diva, accidental coding, or some other secret option. Honestly if you find a way to reason so hard it works, you could even try to submit The Godfather (... it is very quotable...)

Submit movies that aren't just American!

Submit movies that are cult classic masterpieces or movies that objectively suck!

I love Mamma Mia but it does have gay characters. This poll came about because I found that a lot of older movies had queer fans that were able to connect to others through these movies while creating their own spaces. This was despite the movie being "straight and gender conforming". I love that there's more rep now, but I'm aiming for this to poll contain more vintage movies for a reason. and I want to expand my watchlist. I'm aware that there are movies from the 70s, 1920s, and other older eras with explicitly gay themes and characters like Victim 1961 or Salome 1920 (and I encourage you to widen your scope of historically significant films) but this isn't that poll.

Old movies with very stealth trans or gay coding with its side characters and unintentional lgbt+ coding is allowed, but you know these things can be hit or miss. Besides, I put Heathers on here even though it's homophobic. Fun but homophobic. You can submit movies with homophobia or conformist themes to a degree.

Given that not a lot of people watch older movies, the battling polls will be paired by decade until it gets whittled down to the finals where old and young will both compete.

Competition will start May 1 in honor of The Wicker Man 1973, which i wish counted as a poll entry, but I limited myself to one movie I'd slip into the tournament despite the fact that there's not a lot of lgbt fans of the movie. And this was my runner up because I really liked The Exorcist's Regan and Karras. Unless someone else submits him, Wicker Man's not gonna be there. pfft, all my fics have the happiest endings.

nope. i did get hate on a supportive/love comment i left on a friend's fic once. that's, like, 7th circle of hell troll behavior to be hating on a comment.

i do write smut, yes. my smut has been described as [insert various descriptors like "inferno", "blazing", "scorching", and lots of🔥] hot paired with soft/romantic/sweet. i.e. fluffy smut. smuff.

recently, i've had the immense pleasure of listening to my fics read aloud in published podfics. and let me say, this is a brilliant way to spot weaknesses. and while my banter may be good, sometimes i maybe inject too much action into my conversations. it disrupts the flow. also, long, plotty fics ellude me. i'm a pantser/gardner style writer and plotting/outlining makes me hyperventilate.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

yes, if used sparingly, and in such a way that i (as an english only speaker) can intuit what is being said. and also if translations are provided as a footnote. i've got a french-speaking Draco in my Dron fics [1] [2], where he lapses in the heat of passion.

Okay thoughts? Insanely witty and eloquent reg interviewing boxer james and trying to make him trip over his words to knock him down a peg but james is quite smart too so their banter is just on another fucking level and they both start getting a little heated and ppl are unsure if they want to pound each other or pound each other. But it is Regulus' profession afterall so he bends James’ words to his will which is infuriatingly hot.

Mayhaps? Thoughts on how the interviews go? I'm in love with your brain pls, some crumbs? 🤭

AAAAAAA THIS IS AMAZING NONNIE AND HONESTLY . PRETTY ACCURATE i'm actually so very excited about writing the interviews, it's one of the things i'm looking forward to the most!! reg does assume at the beginning that james is just some dumb arrogant boxer and . james IS incredibly cocky but that doesn't mean he's an idiot, and reg is . quite taken aback when he sees how easily james can keep up with him . he also never expects the audience to enjoy their banter so much, he was sort of waiting to get some hate considering how loved james is and the way some of his comments about him border on condescending, or even a lil mean. but james always finds it soooo amusing and has an answer ready for reg, so ppl love to see them together!! a lot of them do ship them/think there's a lot of sexual tension between them, but some of james' most hardcore fans can't stand reg and hate that he's his interviewer

reg does bend james' words in whatever way he wants, especially at the start, which is one of the things that james finds most . interesting?? fascinating?? about reg. it's what draws him to reg, apart from the obvious physical attraction. but as they begin to spend more time in each other's company and get to know each other better, james also learns how to bend some of reg's comments.. and it absolutely drives reg up the wall

remus and you would love to read and talk about the books the both of you picked up during the week. and during quiet rainy nights, you'd light up cinnamon candles, putting your head on his lap while he'd read to you, and playing with your gorgeous curls. BUT if the both of you picked up the same book, you'd have contrasting opinions about them and would banter endlessly about who's right and who's wrong. it was a tradition the both of you had since you were friends, but it didn't stop even after you started dating, because it was one of the roots of your relationship.

remus is the mastermind behind the shenanigans of the marauders, and the two of you would pull a few fairly devious pranks on your mates. maybe color sirius' hair in a fluorescent color or maybe change the power on james' glasses or maybe set a few harmless spiders under peter's bedclothing. it was all fun and games until it fired back on both of you.

the two of you have very intense conversations sometimes, discussing about mostly about psychology, literature and art. he likes to listen to you and your views about different aspects. and sometimes if you'd rant about something he didn't have an idea about, he'll learn about it and discuss it with you the other day (and vice versa).

remus loves to sketch, so maybe when you're daydreaming or sleeping, he'll sometimes sketch a portrait. but he'll never show you them, of course. because some of them he'd sketched when the both of you were friends. he didn't know you had your own stock of little paintings and poems about him where you describe every other feature of his in a mesmerizing way. eventually his secret is revealed, and so is yours.

remus wouldn't like your choice of music at the beginning. but it starts to grow on him over the time. because the music reminds him of you, and he feels it's a piece of you and your mind which he wants to keep close by him.

remus was never one for parties and neither were you. so the both of you sulk around when james and sirius run around like little children, drinking endlessly. it's not alcohol or any other substance to abuse, but it sure as hell feels like it. he'd very happy to say the least, to find a sulking partner at parties. it fuels his introverted side, because he knows once the both of you escape the party with pizza boxes tucked under your shirts, you'll open up once again and fill his eardrums with your voice.

at an aspect, of your love for him, it becomes like fire and ice. because he's loathing himself after a dreadful full moon, but you're sitting by him, taking care of him. it melts his poor heart how much you take care of him and how much you love him. but he thinks he doesn't deserve it. he thinks he's holding you bounded. he thinks he's being selfish. but you advice him, and even scold him a little, telling him that being selfish sometimes wouldn't harm anybody. you'd also tell him that if you wanted to not be with him you'd leave him in the blink of an eye. but you wanted him, and loved him, so he could hold you bound as long as he wanted to.

remus loves your affection. he likes how you remember certain details about him and do little things for him. he likes how you ask for permission before you hug him, because he's very sensitive to touch sometimes. he thinks he's living in one of the books the both of you made fun of one day.

all in all, the both of you are blissed with each other! <3

Currently, Fate/Grand Order and related. Trying to get back into Naruto for specific reasons. Still slow at that one.

Yes. I do. I do my best to get responses out within a day or two, but sometimes, work, people, and a mix of both make it so replies are delayed. Also being used to some comments being a mix of "why didn't you write this" and "read this to like this one character better." Damn it Fate fandom.

Uh. (stares at AO3 works) Some short stories in Small Sparkles that involved Tomoko nearly dying or actually dying? That's really it. Angst is why Lang told me to cut down the old Danganronpa crossover way back and I'm glad I did.

Maybe all of them? Because I do want to keep giving happy endings. Least I can do.

(stares at all the previous anons and guest reviewers who tried to get me to like Wodime and LB7 onwards for Fate/Grand Order) Yep. That's why my AO3 works are all locked to registered users only. Keeps the bullcrap out.

No. I tried once, didn't get into the actual act, only implied it, and immediately mentally combusted afterwards. Friends were very nice in encouraging me and being supportive.

No. Thank goodness for that.

No. It'd be nice if someone did. I remember back when I was exclusively writing Civilian Pianist in my college days that someone asked about translating it into Spanish. Never saw more than that. Don't remember if they even got around to it.

If you count me asking Os/@windwardstar and @langwrites for help in writing Kei and co in The Sea and Stars, yes! Also, there was Silent Feathers. Kinda went places.

14. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

...Civilian Pianist. I really want to go back to it, I do, but a combination of Boruto sucking ass whenever I try to look up reference, family deaths, and my own changing writing style means I'm floundering a bit. Still want to go back. I mean that much.

15. What are your writing strengths?

Per @partialdignity and @lovingempress, last I checked - fluff, exploring emotion, and hurt/comfort. Which I'm more than happy with considering I wanted to write for all three.

16. What are your writing weaknesses?

Fight scenes (thanks for passing your weakness down, Lang), angst, and occasional bouts of witty banter. Still working on all three. Some of my best Fate chapters I wrote from the memories of toxic work environments, racist things people have called me on public transit, as well as uncomfortable real life things, and I think it says something when my partner has to call me and distract me with talk about Kamen Rider to get me out of the dark corner because I can dive deep.

17. Thoughts on dialogue in another language?

I've been trying to use that sort of thing more in Passing Days since the little bits of Vietnamese I sprinkle in make Master Vy - and by extension the Chaldea I write for - so much bigger in how the Servants try to interact with a Vietnamese Master. It helps me look up and practice saying the accents I've always struggled learning with my parents when I was little too. Still a work in progress, though, but it's fun!

18. First fandom you wrote in?

Yugioh GX. On a word document that's long been deleted because old family laptop, middle school me writing, and being very embarrassed by it.

19. Favorite fic you've written?

Honestly, it's coming up to Passing Days even though I've poured a lot into every story I've written. Because Fate/Grand Order has so many characters, shaped up by the story and my own experiences playing through the story - writing out things that could've happened or interactions I wish could've played out help me challenge myself. Push me outside my "fluff/comfort" bubble.

Because not everyone takes nicely to the tiny stubborn Vietnamese girl who wants to fight for her family. It's a good personal challenge.

marco / connie.

no cause marco & connie are so [clenches fist], there's so much drama there from what we had in their backstories to then the introduction of the destroyers & both of them falling into this toxic destruction of other's making but their love kept them alive long enough to reunite.

my only criticism would be that i wish we had more of them because it really felt like we didn't get much before connie was kidnapped & it made me sad, though the side manga helped to alleviate that.

marco / striker.

the obsession. marco trying so hard to get away from this life but the ghost of striker haunts him until he resurrects in that obsessive love to drag them both down to somewhere marco can never abandon him again. their promise they made as children ended up being a curse & it's so good to see, especially since even after marco's death: striker is still haunted. he'll never escape that man & it's unhinged!

mitch / clementine.

not one of my top ships for clementine but it's definitely up there in the top five because their immediate sardonic, witty banter together definitely endeared me. i think clementine can recognize that surly attitude in him that she definitely had in season 3 & it endears her to him. meanwhile mitch is definitely lowkey fascinated with this all knowing girl that just showed up out of nowhere with a mouth as big as his.

louis / clementine.

my second favourite clementine ship, these two immediately caught my attention when i started playing the 4th season because louis is exactly what clementine needs. someone who can break through that very tough wall she's built & remind her that she's still a kid, as well as someone who regards aj as someone that's the most important thing to her.

canon did them so dirty, why did they do that to my poor boy :((

violet / clementine.

i did really used to like them more but the behaviour of the shippers in two [redacted] servers just absolutely turned me off from the ship. they do have some really cute moments but i do wonder if violet's whole demeanour would end up dragging clementine further into her negative traits rather than someone who will hold her accountable & remind her that she's still a kid at the end of the day. idk.

clementine / minvera.

oh my poor baby scrungles. i loved their dynamic from day one & minverva remains the top wlw ship i have for clementine cause they're just so [clenches fist] fucked up. while other ships serve to remind clementine that she doesn't have to be the way she was for survival anymore, clem / minerva would go the exact opposite way in minerva dragging clementine down into her own trauma because she can't do it alone.

so much good toxicity that i always love to see play out ✨

luca / sherry.

for a background couple, they excel in married energy & i love how nonjudgemental luca is of his wife's profession: in fact he seems to adulate this aspect of who she is & put's her on for show, so everyone knows how amazing his wife is & how much he adores her. get you a man like luca!

loretta / nina.

oh my god no these two would be so cute & i like that they also seem to represent the future of ergastulum, wanting to do better for the good of the people there & that would be something they connect over greatly. also loretta hearing about nina's favourite drink from worick & she ends up buying an entire caseload wheeze.

maverick / svetlana.

not something super on my radar but there's just something so intriguing about these two & how they exist in the dyamics of their "families", how that would interconnect with how they exist within each other.

delico / yang & yang / erica.

putting these two together bc oh the dynamics here are just so !! delico as the replacement for the sister they both lost, that playing into their mutual guilt & tension between each other, they would die for each other & kill for each other but would that extend to what they become if they ever got erica back. how would that dynamic warp & twist with what erica has become, the traumatic psychosexual connections & all three of them just needing to be together. so fascinating.

alex / galahad.

not one of my main ships for either but i can't deny they would be so cute together, especially with galahad's protectiveness over alex & him convincing her to let loose & enjoy herself a little! adorable!

striker / beretta.

the definition of evil soulmates: they'll watch the world burn for each other because even with striker's obsession with marco, he remains at beretta's side. they're two puzzle pieces, a bullet & a gun, a whip & blood splatter. they'll burn the world. they'll survive in each other time & time again because this is just who they are.

he's such a sap, and desperately wants to be loved the way he loves other people, and i think he'd find that in you. while i don't consider him the most academic or witty, i think he would enjoy joking around with you and having hours long conversations about anything, just so he could be around you and listen to you talk. also, i'd consider 5'9 to be tall, at least for a girl, and something tells me a tall girl would have steve whipped. from the way you dress, i think he'd find you a little intimidating, but he'd be drawn to you. in a similar way to nancy, i think he'd find a powerful woman attractive.

that would be enough to make you melt into a puddle, so in awe of how you found someone that was so like you, and who understood what it was like to want that ache in your heart and the butterflies in your stomach.
