Last year I wrote a silly little Wolfstar fic while I had covid and it turned out it wasn’t just silly but also a story about queer joy and the second best fic I’ve ever written. It’s a 5+1 muggle au story (around 9k words) that mainly focusses on Teddy and Sirius (the last part is giving all the wolfstar fluff a person could ask for). Sirius and Teddy are both trans and Sirius takes the role as some elderly queer wizard and shares some wisdom with the kid that lives next door. There’s coming outs, young love, old love, fluff with a dog named Padfoot, Sirius going full sims mode for a minute and sweet banter. What more can you ask for? It’s cute, believe me. And I also wrote two more stories in the same universe because I just couldn’t get enough of them. Making the terf’s characters gay and trans and happy just makes me feel alive.

very tempted to add to the type of "wine-dark* sea" discourse on ancient colour names and call blue AND green by the same name. gonna start innocuous and say things that could be ambiguously green/blue like "the sky was as clear as jade", and then clothesline unsuspecting readers with "the blue grass and trees". the best part of writing is the PVP.

**my hot take is that red wine served in a clay (opaque) vessel would just look black, so it's describing a dark, stormy sea. source: i drink wine out of teacups.

i think a lot about how the roman thermae and bathing culture is presented as a sign of how Civilized and Advanced the romans were but one of the essential parts of the thermae was the caldarium, essentially a sauna, which was heated up through the floor.... under which slaves constantly had to toil to feed the fire while suffocating in the heat and steam that would rise through the floor to make free romans and the slaves' masters get a nice sweat, free to move on to the cold baths in the next room whenever they wanted.

I just texted to ask the neighbour with whom I swap cat sitting favours if she could catsit this weekend -- she is about 20 years younger than me and other than cats we have almost nothing in common -- and she texted back "i can do it. have your back" and then a hands-clasped emoji and I felt a rush of the kind of love that soldiers must feel for each other in foxholes.

Alex is truly so kind to offer to help him build his new bookcase, but Henry’s worried about him getting heat stroke. “Really, Alex, it doesn’t have to be done today. The books can wait a few days, I promise.”

“Nah, I know how much you love sorting and alphabetizing and seeing all your books organized. It’s not a big deal, H, really.” Henry opens his mouth to try and dissuade him from continuing and to instead relax, maybe offer him a cool glass of iced tea. But before a sound could escape, Alex grabs at the hem of his shirt and promptly pulls it over his head, making every single thought escape Henry’s brain instead. Just when he thought it couldn’t get any hotter, Alex had brought the temperature of the entire apartment up a few degrees.

Miguel can't say shit, this is in comics so this is prophecy, it has to be a canon event and Spider-Ham would always be happy to babysit. Also can we appreciate details when it comes to genetics, Max has blue eyes like his mom but everything else resembles his dad, and Charlotte has lighter skin than her brother and blonde hair which is also a possibility with biracial kids, they can be blonde too, literally everything is possible and her hair is curly and her eyes are brown. And I'm crying cuz you'd think people like Miles and Gwen would come up with a better name than "George Jefferson" lmfao they named him like Harry Potter named his kids. And Charlotte is her mom's fan how cute ❤️
