series masterlist
It started to seem like days in the office began to blend together, the month and a half since you and Spencer got accidentally engaged flew by. It was a whirlwind of shoots, editing, and meetings as you prepared to announce it to the world.
After a few weeks with no leaks known to the team it was decided that waiting would be for the best. You and Spencer spent more time in front of the camera as ever before. You didn't expect so many of the wedding videos to be shot so early, but Zoe made the point that the wedding planning could take quite a while.
Your last shoot for a few months was scheduled for today. It was an Eat It Or Yeet It wedding cake episode that left you with a bitter taste in your mouth, literally. You waited through the first two, allowing Olivia to get a red velvet sriracha cake and Damien to taste a pickle juice cake, which he of course claimed to enjoy.
You stared Spencer down as you slammed the bell, just barely beating him as he screamed out. The cake looked normal, and frankly good. The slice of cake appeared to be a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, so you decided to take a large bite.
"Look at this!" You defended as Spencer criticized your bite. "It's gonna be good, Spence, and am not sorry about it."
You shrugged and laughed as he scoffed, shaking his head. He continued to claim you would regret it as the others began to count you down.
"I hope it's just super salty or something, you deserve it." Spencer called over the others, crossing his arms with a smug look as he watched you take your bite.
You sat back immediately, your face dropping as you covered your mouth. Garrett shrugged and laughed nervously as you looked to him with a saddened expression.
Spencer turned over his shoulder, grabbing the bucket as his faux anger had quickly melted into concerned as you chewed slowly. Courtney slapped his shoulder softly with the cards, chastising him for stealing her job.
You chewed in slow silence, choking out a wish for water once you had finally swallowed it. Cheers erupted as you gulped down your water, groaning as you sat back.
"What was it? I'm sorry I wished that hell on you." Spencer chuckled as he placed his hand on your thigh, giving it a gentle squeeze as you rolled your eyes.
"Shayne should try it." You stated, pushing the plate towards him as Shayne began to cackle. Damien scrunching his face as everyone else began to laugh.
Olivia sat in confusion, looking around to the others. "Wait, what is it?"
"Y/N, what you just had was.." Courtney began, moving behind you as she read off the card. "Chocolate malic acid cake! Which is made of chocolate cake mix, malic acid, chocolate frosting, and more malic acid!"
You gagged a bit as Spencer wrapped his arms around your shoulders after Courtney removed your bib. He placed a kiss to your temple, mumbling another apology as he chuckled. You pulled away, pointing your finger at Spencer with your brows furrowed.
"You should have to take the big bite for that. You put that shit on me so you deserve it, if it's the worst bite, which I hope it is." You spoke pointedly as Spencer's eyes widened, rasing his hands in surrender.
"Okay, that's fair." He quickly responded, nodding frantically as you laughed, nudging your shoulder with his as the next dish was placed on the table.
"I think Y/N could punch you in the face and you would thank her." Damien quipped, pulling a loud laugh from Kiana behind the cameras. Shayne was greeted with what looked to be a confetti cake, but there was no telling what it could really be.
Shayne groaned, rubbing his face with one hand as the other slowly hovered over the button, dropping his hand dramatically as everyone cheered.
"I want it to be confetti cake but it's probably, like, microplastics or some shit." Shayne chuckled as he got some onto the fork, rolling his eyes and flipping the bird when Garrett tells him to get more frosting.
Shayne was pleasantly surprised to get a normal cake, leaving Spencer groaning.
"Goddamnit, Shayne." Spencer slapped the table, laughing as Shayne gave a thumbs up and went back in for another bite.
Courtney called it to be a perfectly normal cake mush to the dismay of everyone else. When Courtney pulls the cover from the tray, everyone begins to count down in confusion.
The slice looked very similar to yours from earlier, maybe a bit neater, but near identical. Spencer silently hit the button, slumped in his seat as you giggled beside him. He stayed silent as everyone was in fits of laughter as Spencer's pure misery.
"You're doing this to me, I want you to know that." He turned to you, laughing softly as the countdown began for the final time.
Spencer waited, slowly moving the bite to his mouth. He remained stoic for a second, but once he had realized it wasn't something bad his eyes fluttered shut as he let out a soft whine.
You gasped as he grinned, finishing his bite to loud cheers as Courtney removed his bib. Spencer pressed a kiss to your cheek, laughing softly as you sat in bewilderment.
"Thank you for that, that was fucking delicious." He laughed, handing you a fork from Garrett, inviting you to try it.
"What you just ate was 'Mythical Chef Josh's German Chocolate Cake'! Holy cow, that was a lot of words." Courtney laughed, flinging the card behind her. You groaned quietly, mirroring Spencer as the flavors melted on your tongue.
"We're not gonna tell you the ingredients because he gave us way too many!" Courtney called out as laughter rang from everyone.
"Fuck, can we get Josh to make this for our wedding cake?" You laughed as you went in for more.
Spencer felt a tug at his heart strings,nyet another pang in his chest as you picked up another bite, his eyes following your every move.
He's known for so long that he was in love with you, he's known for fucking years. He got you two into this situation, you'd been around each other and focused on this wedding for a bit now.
But in this moment, a moment he'll be so thankful that Alex had swung his camera in time to catch and thankful that Kiana had fought to keep the clip in, he would realized just how much he loved you.
The words sat on the tip of his tongue, his feelings clear in his eyes to everyone but you. You just grinned at him, offering him a bite of the cake, your other hand hovering just below his chin to catch any crumbs.
All Spencer could bring himself to do was smile and accept. He stuffed his mouth to keep himself from spilling the vomit of words he wanted to say.
There was so many small ways he told you that he loved you, but he couldn't just say that; he knew a jumbled mess of a confession to his years and years worth of love for you would make its way out.
So Spencer was quick to grab his fork, nodding and giving a thumbs up as he took another bite, eating almost half of the slice by the time Courtney finished the outro, jumping from his stool almost as soon as wrap was called.
You scooted out of your chair in confusion as your eyes followed Spencer, watching as he quickly took off his mic pack and darted out of the door.
Shayne and Damien turned to you with similar perplexed looks. You were quick to follow suit as everyone began to shuffle about the set.
You head toward the central part of the office, catching sight of Spencer in the communal kitchen, leaning down to look into the fridge. He turns, a kickstart in his hand, as he notices your entering the small space. Spencer is quick to smile at you.
"What up, wifey?" He chuckles, opening the can as you raise a brow. He'd picked up the new nickname in the last couple of days after you were gifted a cup with it splayed across the side.
"You okay, Spence?" You questioned softly, approaching him with open arms, smiling as he opened his embrace. The two of you hugged as Spencer scoffed, rubbing your back softly.
"Of course l'm okay, why wouldn't be? This is honestly going way better than could've imagined." He grinned, that pang in his chest returning from earlier.
He wasnt lying to you, but it sure felt like it. He was having a great time, and it was going way better than he expected, but his feelings are becoming very, very strong.
Spencer didn't expect it to affect him this much, especially after this long. It almost felt like he was falling for you all over again. You pulled away, smiling softly at him as you took his free hand in yours, giving it a gentle Squeeze.
"We made an agreement, if anything is making you feel weird or uncomfortable you can tell me. I really fucking mean that, dude." You huffed, brows furrowed as Spencer chuckled and nodded.
"I know, it's all good, I swear." He stepped forward, placing a kiss to your forehead before he slid past you, quietly heading toward your office.
You stood there, chewing your lip softly as you slumped a bit. Spencer was really begining to worry you. His mood shifted so quickly, you'd gone the whole morning just as normal, even then entire shoot was fine. He just switched as soon as wrap was called.
Spencer seemed almost cold when you asked, shocking you a bit. You were used to telling each other everything, from the moment the two of you met, there was an unspoken trust that helped your friendship and feelings blossom so quickly.
So the feeling in your gut that Spencer was holding something back was much more jarring than you could've expected. You couldn't even expect it, this wasn't a situation you'd ever thought of before. You were lost.
You could only think of one person you could go to as you pulled your phone from your pocket, opening your texts.
"ki can we do lunch please?"
Kiana squinted as she glanced at her phone, the stage lights causing a glare as she sat at the Games' set preparing a board game for the next shoot.
She sat up straight, only slightly alarmed by the text. She'd been biting her tongue since Spencer rushed off, her romantic heart racing when you followed after him. She wanted to follow after you, wishing to be a fly on the wall but chose to stay, knowing you two needed the privacy.
She wanted with every fiber of her being to believe that you had something good to tell her, but the pit in her stomach argued otherwise. Kiana responded quickly, promising to meet you at her desk in five minutes.
"Lizzy," Kiana called as she rose from her seat, beckoning her over. "I gotta run, would you be able to finish this up?"
Lizzy agreed, nodding as she shooed Kiana off, ignoring her profuse thank you's. Kiana smile softly as she entered her office, finding slumped in her chair, spinning slowly.
"Wanna order food?" She asked you as she quietly shut the door behind herself. You skidded to a stop, nodding as your eyes met Kiana's. Your brows were furrowed and your stress was clear on your face.
Kiana took the seat opposite for you, shifting a bit in the tough chair. She never knew just how uncomfortable her chairs were, making a mental note to order different ones.
"I'm ordering, you talk." She spoke, eyes on her phone as she nodded at you, causing you to nod back.
"Okay, Spencer's being really fucking weird and it's freaking me out. He ran off set so followed him, which I know you saw." You narrow your eyes, pointing your finger at her. Kiana smirks, eyes still down on her phone as her fingers speed about the screen.
"He was in the kitchen and he seemed like he was pretending to be fine. He was acting normal, he hugged me, he kissed my forehead, he told me he was fine and promised me that he was okay:" You huffed as Kiana locked her phone, setting it down on the desktop as she leaned back, eyes meeting yours.
"I honestly think it's just starting to get to him and he just doesn't wanna say anything about it. He's apologized over this so many times, Ki, no matter how often I tell him that love it." You groan, resting your head in your hands as you feel that same gut feeling from before.
"Y/N," Kiana spoke softly, offering you a sympathetic smile. "Spencer tells you everything, maybe he needs some time to sort out his feelings, yanno? He probably just wants to figure himself out before he tells you, he hates stressing you out."
You nodded a bit, not fully convinced but not willing to argue as your head began to pound. As if punishment from the universe, Kiana's phone rang loudly, causing you to jump a bit.
Ki answered quick, offering you hushed apologies as she spoke quietly, before excusing herself, your food waiting at the front.
You waved lazily as you laid your head on her desk the exhaustion hitting you full force. The busy schedule and your highstrung emotions were finally catching up with you it seemed.
Kiana peeked into the editing room as she walked past on her way to the front, frowning softly as she caught sight of Spencer. He sat with his headphones on, his face bored with a half eaten sandwich beside him.
Alex, one of the Games' producers, gave Kiana a small smile anda nod as he passed her, heading into the office she had just been peering into.
Alex pulled your chair out, quickly catching Spencer's attention, his brows furrowed as his head snapped towards Alex.
"I come in peace, dude." Alex chuckled, his hands raised as he sat down beside him, bumping your chair gently into Spencer's.
Spencer grinned, quickly putting on a face as he removed his headphones. He wasn't stupid, he knew why Alex was here. Everyone saw him rushing off of the set, and he probably got texted about it by someone. He wouldn't be surprised if you were avoiding your desk to keep from being questioned or questioning him yourself.
"What's wrong, Spencer?" Alex asked nonchalantly as he picked up a pen from your desk, grabbing a sticky note as he began to doodle.
A small laugh left Spencer as he shook his head, roling his eyes. Alex raised a brow as he glanced over, not believing the act that was being put on.
"I'm good, I just wasn't feeling great. I think Josh tried to poison me." Spencer chuckled, turning back to his monitor, effectively ending their conversation.
Alex huffed, nodding as he placed the pen back into the cup he'd pulled it from. He stood from your chair, placing the sticky note to the corner of Spencer's monitor.
"Well, if you're lying and you wanna talk, I'm here." He smiled softly as Spencer nodded, mumbling a thanks.
Spencer placed his headphones on, his eyes drawn to the bright green paper covered in different doodles of dicks.
You made your way to Rachel's desk after you'd finished your lunch, pouting as you arrived. She cooed, pouting over dramatically back at you.
"What's up, buttercup?" She grinned, causing you to smile softly, her warmth radiating. You didn't want to leave work early today, but your headache just seemed to get worse.
Today was your announcement day. Rachel, Kiana, and Lizzy had spent weeks picking the photos you and Spencer were to post, which videos would be coming out immediately after the announcement video itself, and helping find everything you need this far before the actual wedding.
Rachel had specific instructions on when you and Spencer needed to post to your different social medias; the schedule outlined perfectly in your calendar by Erin.
You let her know that you were heading home but you promised up and down, pinkies wrapped together and all, that you wouldn't miss it.
You let your walk drag on as you headed back to your desk, your nerves only making your headache worse as you dreaded the possibility of seeing Spencer again. This wasn't usual, you'd never once wished not to see him. You normally spent so much of your alone time wishing you were alone with him.
You found yourself exhaling a breath you didn't know you were holding as you were greeted with empty chairs and blank screens.
You rushed to grab your things, no idea just how quickly he'd be to return. You pulled an irish exit as you left the building, longing for the comfort of your bed and your kitty.
Spencer hadn't planned on leaving his desk anytime soon. He didn't have any upcoming deadlines to meet, but he did need a distraction. Maybe these next few months of wedding-less videos was for the best.
Maybe the distance between the two of you was for the best at this point. He fucked up, and the realization of just how terrible the situation he'd put you two in was finally setting in.
You two were getting married over a stupid joke and he's still in love with you. He's definitely fallen so much more in love with you in this time, but that probably isn't a good thing.
His phone buzzed, causing him to jump a bit, lost in his thoughts again.
"come to my office need ur opinion"
"seriously come here spencer I will drag you here"
He felt a tug at the corner of his lips as the second message came through.
"otw calm down"
He rubbed his eyes, saving his work before trudging down the hall and into Kiana's office, sliding himself into the seat in front of her desk as she chuckles, shaking her head.
"Hey," Kiana began softly, her brows furrowed as she glanced at Spencer, noticing just how tired he looked. "Are you oka-"
"I'm okay." Spencer cut her off, sitting up in the seat, finally fed up.
"I swear l'm okay. Why does everyone keep asking me if l'm okay?" Spencer scoffed, shrugging. Kiana was quick to forgive him, knowing that Spencer's anger wasn't directed at her.
"Because you're obviously not okay, dude. Can you at least tell me what's wrong? don't have to give you advice if you don't want it, just think you should get it off your chest, Spence Kiana reasoned, desperate to allow him the space to vent.
Spencer slumped back into the seat again, glancing over his shoulder to ensure that the door has closed behind him before he looked back to Kiana, the concern in her eyes causing his guilt to grow.
"This stays between us, everything I say, okay?" Spencer sounded almost desperate as he looked to Kiana with his brows raised, crossing his arms over his chest. She nodded, sitting back as her silence encouraged him to speak.
"I love Y/N so fucking much and it's making this so hard. I didn't even think that would happen want it to be real so badly. It feels so natural I almost want to believe that she loves me too." Spencer chewed his lip as Kiana nodded her head, humming in thought. She always has to stall when she was in these situations. You two often bitched about your feelings to her, leaving her to find quick ways to cover up her knowledge.
She refused to meddle with your relationship, no matter how badly she wanted to. Kiana never revealed that the two of you liked each other, but she could try her best to hint at it.
"Why can't she want the same thing? There's no way to tell that she isn't feeling the same exact way that you are." Kiana sighed as an alarm went off on Spencer's phone, cursing under his breath.
How was it 4PM already? He had planned to be with you when you posted your photos to instagram, expecting to see a message or call from you when he checked his phone. His throat felt dry as he found nothing. Kiana looked to him with worry once more as Spencer's face fell.
"ls Y/N here?" He asked, brows furrowed as he began selecting the pictures from his camera roll slowly, still holding out some hope.
"No, she left a few hours ago, she felt terrible." Kiana shook her head as Spencer looked up to her, his heart falling into his stomach at her Words.
Was this his fault? He hadn't thought you'd stress this much over him. Maybe you were stressing about the whole thing. It had just hit Spencer just how deep into this you were, maybe itd just hit you as well.
He quickly hit post, expecting to see a notification of your post shortly after. He waits a few minutes, aimlessly refreshing his feed before finally locking his phone and shoving it into his pocket.
"Ki, I'm gonna stay home tomorrow, I'll work on my editing still, I just don't really wanna be here." Spencer spoke softly as he stood, Kiana following his actions, nodding softly. She rounded the desk, enveloping him into a warm hug. Kiana gave him a gentle squeeze as she rubbed his back.
"Let me know if you need anything." She smiled, walking him to the door before watching him sprint down the hall.
Spencer had exactly twenty eight minutes until the video was posted. Rachel had wanted to build the excitement beforehand, small hints being left in the other videos posted this week.
He wanted to be as far away from the building as possible when the video was posted, there was no way he could handle the chaos at the building without you. He was so grateful your in time was later than his, causing him to drive himself to work this morning, a rarity nowadays.
Spencer grabbed everything and left without any goodbyes. He went home and went through his routines, but stayed as far from his phone as possible, spending most of the night editing as a means for distraction.
As Spencer brushed his teeth, refusing to look at himself in the mirror, scared to see the tired man staring back at him, a buzz of his phone catches his attention. He finally unlocks it, his feed opening where he had left it. Your post appeared at the top, having been made just minutes ago. Six hours and nineteen minutes after the scheduled time with zero explanation.
Was this a point you were trying to prove? He thought you really cared about this, Spencer believed you two had been on the same page with that at least.
This didn't feel like you, you were punctual, you apologize for being minutes late to meetings. This felt almost intentional.
Meanwhile, you awoke in a panic, your vision blurry as you rubbed your eyes. Your phone buzzed on your nightstand. You unlock it to what seemed like hundreds of notifications, your sleepy fog clearly quickly as you cursed loudly.
Your cat, Craig, jumped from his spot at the edge of your bed, quickly darting down the hall as he meowed loudly.
Your fingers moved just as quickly as your cat as you made your post, sending it off before you sent off many, many apology texts to everyone freaking out over your silence and tardiness. Kiana felt a weight lift from her shoulders as your apology lit up her screen, quickly followed by a request to stay home, pulling a chuckle from your friend.
Spencer and you could avoid each other tomorrow, but probably not much longer.
You two were getting married, for fuck's sake.

Hi! I wanted to say I love the way you write everybody from Smosh. I think you capture their essence perfectly in the dialogues. I especially loved the Ian and Spencer fics :)
Also, I know requests are closed at the moment, and I'm sorry if I'm bothering you, but I wanted to share my idea. If you ever get the inspiration to write it (and the time, of course) it would be so cool. If not, no worries ^^
I would love a Spencer x reader fic where he gets jealous/overprotective. Maybe you're at a club and some drunk guy flirts with you, or you're at the beach in a swimsuit, or you're doing a collab with somebody etc. Whatever setting inspires you most. Maybe it gets a bit angsty too 👀
Thank you for the amazing fics! Have a great day, and I hope your pillow is always cold on both sides :))

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~°~❦~°~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
     “Ah, this reminds me of my clubbing days,” Amanda sighed, taking in the crowded scene around you. “We had some times back then.”
     “What are you talking about, we went to a club together last weekend,” Shayne reminded her.
     “Oh yeah,” she said. “I’m going to go get a drink. See you couples later.”
     She left and then it was just you, Spencer, Shayne, and Courtney standing together by the entrance.
     “Hey!” Courtney announced, looking at Shayne and listening to the song that was blasting at full volume. “This is our jam!”
     Shayne smiled at his wife. “We can’t ignore that.”
     Courtney grabbed their husband’s hand, pulling him into the center of the crowd to dance. You grinned at how in love they were.
     You turned to Spencer. “Looks like it’s just you and me.”
     He grabbed your hands, kissing you on the cheek. “Looks like it.”
     You were here at this club with some of the Smosh cast, a few of you having decided to have some fun after a long week of filming.
     You enjoyed their company, but you couldn’t pretend that you weren’t glad to be alone with Spencer.
     You two had recently started dating, and you couldn’t be more happy together. And you couldn’t be more happy that Spencer was here. Neither one of you were exactly club people and, well, at least you had each other in this chaos.
     “How did we get dragged into this again?” Spencer asked you and you giggled.
     “Let’s just try to have fun,” you said.
     “Alright, but I’m getting us some drinks or something,” Spencer told you. “You think they have any Kickstart here?”
     He walked over towards the other end of the place, and you lost him in the crowd. You rested your elbow on the bar in front of you, waiting for Spencer to return.
     You let your eyes scan the club, finding Courtney and Shayne in the crowd. You saw Amanda a ways off, chatting up some other woman, arms gesturing wildly.
     “So, do you come here often?”
      You looked around you. The man who had spoke leaned across the bar, waiting for your answer.
     “No,” you said. “Never been.”
     “Well, let me know if you want any drink recommendations,” he told you. “I know this place like the back of my hand.”
     “Oh, um, thanks,” you said, wondering exactly what that meant. “I’ll keep that in mind.”
     He took a sip of the drink he held, eyes never leaving your face.
     “You got a boyfriend?” He asked.
     “Actually I—”
     “‘Cause you’re awfully pretty to be here all alone,” the man interrupted.
     “Good thing she’s not then,” you heard Spencer’s voice from behind you.
     He came up next to you, staring down the man at the bar.
     “And who might you be?” He sized up Spencer.
     “I happen to be (Y/n)’s boyfriend,” he put his arm around your shoulders. “She’s mine. And you are?”
     “Yeah okay,” The man scoffed, standing up completely and setting his glass down. He ignored Spencer, looking at you. “Later (Y/n).”
     He left, but not before turning around to look at you one last time as he walked away.
     “Yeah you better run,” Spencer said, even though the man wouldn’t be able to hear him.
     “What a jerk,” Spencer turned to you. “They did not, in fact, have any kickstart, by the way, so we’re going to have to get through this sober.”
     “Okay what was that?” You put your hands on your hips.
     “What was what?” Spencer searched your face.
     “I could’ve handled that guy myself, you know,” you said. “And for all you know, he was just being nice.”
     “(Y/n), did you see the way he was looking at you? That wasn’t nice, that’s the way some snakes look at gerbils and stuff before they eat them.”
     You raised an eyebrow at him.
     “I don’t know, Amanda had me watch some documentary,” he waved the topic away. “But seriously, that wasn’t just friendly.”
      You knew he was right. You’d encountered enough men like him to know. Still, you wanted Spencer to know you could handle yourself. That you didn’t need him scaring men away for you.
     “Sure you’re not just jealous?” you joked, rolling your eyes at him.
     “Oh, one hundred percent,” Spencer said, surprising you. “Look at you. There’s probably loads of guys here who would give their right arm to take you home tonight.”
      A muscle ticked in his jaw and you saw his fingers form a fist by his side. “But I also know that there’s some people here who are real creeps, and that guy’s one of them.”
     “And you don’t think I can deal with them?” You asked, honestly.
     He shrugged, a stark contrast to the wild look that was still in his eyes. “Doesn’t matter, cause I want to…deal with them.”
      “Whatever, I’m going to see if I can catch up with Amanda,” you said, turning around before Spencer could catch up with you.
      You didn’t look back, making your way through the crowds of people and towards the back of the club.
     You knew you were being stupid and stubborn, but you didn’t want Spencer to think he had to fight your battles for you.
     You weren’t really paying attention to where you where going as you scanned the crowd for one of your friends.
     “Hello again.”
     You looked up to find yourself face to face with the guy from before.
     “Hey,” you said, smiling quickly before trying to walk past him. He stepped closer to you, stumbling forward.
     “Not so fast, pretty girl,” he slurred. “You haven’t let me buy you a drink yet.”
     “That’s ok,” you told him, taking another step forward that he blocked. “I should really head back to my friends.”
     “That pathetic excuse for a boyfriend?” He leaned even closer and you noticed the smell of alcohol on his breath. “Forget him. Let me show you a good time.”
     “I’m really not interested,” you tried again, trying not to panic as he cornered you.
     “‘Course you are,” he said. “Let me take you back to my place and we can—”
     “For the last time,” you started, your voice raising. You were done being nice to him. “I said I’m—”
     He grabbed your wrist then and you cried out, struggling against his grip.
     You were aware of the fact that he could easily overpower you and that no one around you was paying attention as they danced to the music.
    “Hey man, you wanna get your fucking hands off my girlfriend?” a voice said calmly.
     The man let go of you suddenly and you turned around for the second time that night to find Spencer. You didn’t know how he got there, but in that moment you were just eternally grateful that he was there
     “Get lost, bastard,” the man said. “This doesn’t concern you.”
     “Actually I think it very much does concern me,” he said, stepping between you and the man, grabbing your hand subtly as he did so, your fingertips touching his. “And I also think it’s time for you to go.”
     “Your girlfriend wants me,” the man said. “Go ahead and ask her.”
     He started to reach towards you over Spencer’s shoulder but Spencer backed up, pushing you with him, tightening his grip on you.
     “You so much as lay a finger on her again and I’ll throw hands,” he said, his voice like ice.
     You had never seen him like this before. He was usually pretty calm, even tempered, good humored—you hadn’t seen him so much as hurt a fly.
     But now he looked like he would actually beat this man up if it came down to it.
     The drunk man seemed to realize this too, and didn’t want to cause a scene, because he shook his head, relaxing his posture.
     “This isn’t worth it,” he mumbled, looking over Spencer’s shoulder at you. “You’re a bitch anyways!”
     He turned around and walked away. You let out a breath, your shoulders falling from their rigid pose.
     “Thank god, I almost thought I was going to have to fight that man,” Spencer breathed out. “I love you, but he was pushing 6’5”.”
     You laughed breathlessly as Spencer turned around to you, pulling you into his arms.
     “Are you ok?” He asked, pulling back to get a good look at you. “I’m so sorry you had to deal with that.”
     “I’m fine, Spence,” you said. “Thanks to you. How did you even know where we were?”
     Spencer rubbed the back of his neck with one of his hands. “I might’ve followed you.”
     “Well, I’m really glad you did,” you told him. “You were right.”
     “Really? I thought you’d be pissed.”
     You weren’t. You realized you didn’t care so much any more about making a show of taking care of yourself. Spencer had kind of saved your ass. If it wasn’t for him, who knows what would have happened. You shuddered thinking about it.  Besides, you were partners—and that meant being there for one another. You didn’t have to do everything on your own.
And seeing Spencer tonight, being so protective of you, made you realize how much he cared for you. It was sweet knowing that he would defend you and stand up for you.
     “I don’t know,” you said, your tone light. “I kind of liked seeing this side of you.”
     Spencer raised an eyebrow. “Well then, we might have to come to clubs more often.”
     “I vote no on that one,” you said.
    “I couldn’t agree more. Now c’mon,” he flicked his head towards the door. “Let’s get out of here.”
     You nodded. “What about the others?”
     “I’ll text them and tell them we got a cab.”
     You walked in silence for a moment, the noise of the club filling your ears.
     “I can’t believe you almost fought a man,” you teased.
     “Hey, it was about to be Fight Club in there,” he cracked his knuckles. “I don’t think you know what that movie’s about,” you laughed, grabbing his hand.
“Seriously though, you don’t think I could have taken him?” Spencer asked, amusement in his eyes.
     “If he was a character in a video game? Absolutely.”
     “Ouch,” Spencer clutched his chest. “Still have to work on my public perception.”
     You giggled as Spencer opened the door for you and you felt the cool, night air on your cheeks.
     “But, I don’t know, you did look pretty determined. I would have bet money that you would have at least knocked a few teeth out.”
      “I would’ve liked to. He was looking at you like…like…”
     “…like he wanted to make me his?” You finished.
     “Exactly” Spencer ran a hand through his hair, before kissing you gently.
     “And only I get to look at you like that.”
hello! i love your ianthony fics! for anthony’s day could you maybe do secret relationship ianthony?
thank you!! it took everything inside me not to do an angsty version of secret relationship (although who's to say i won't eventually...) but i hope you like this! it's very dialogue heavy and silly, but i do love a bit!
Courtney squints at her phone screen, zooming in on something.
“What’cha doing?” Angela asks, leaning over their shoulder. “Anthony’s Insta story?”
Shayne puts down his phone and clambers behind the two of them. “What, did he post a new one?”
“A painting one,” Courtney says, their thumb pressed to the screen to keep the story paused. “But . . . I swear . . .”
Angela glances between Courtney and the screen. “What?” he asks.
“Do you see it?” Courtney turns to Shayne.
“Right there?” Shayne points to the far edge of the easel. Angela squints, and she does see something there. It looks like something thin and gold on the shelf beneath the painting, obscured slightly by a paint tube.
“What is that?” Angela asks.
“I think . . . I think it’s glasses,” Courtney says.
“Glasses? Anthony wears glasses?” Angela can’t remember him ever wearing any, but maybe he needs them for painting.
Courtney drops her phone on the lunch table and throws her head back, hands in her hair groaning deep and guttural. “Augh!”
“You sound like Charlie Brown,” Chanse notes, looking up for the first time at the adjoining table. Amanda snorts beside him and adds, “Yeah, you do.”
“Okay, you figure it out!” Courtney shouts, shoving their phone into Chanse’s hands.
“Figure what out? What am I missing?” Angela asks frantically.
“I swear those are Ian’s glasses!” Courtney says. “I swear!”
Chanse picks up the phone and plays the story again. “I mean, maybe? Why does that matter?”
“I swear it’s not the first time it happened,” Courtney says. “Like, I’m pretty sure they were on the table in another one from a couple weeks ago.” “She’s also convinced she saw on of Ian’s jackets in a mirror reflection on a chair in a yoga story,” Shayne says.
“You guys! I’m not crazy!” Courtney insists. She leans down low over the table and instinctively Angela mimics her to hear. “I swear they’re dating.” Chanse bursts out with one loud laugh, then covers his mouth, turning a bit red, and Amanda gasps.
“What?” Angela asks. That seems kinda unlikely.
“I swear,” Courtney insists. “And it’s not just the Instagram stories. Ian said they went to dinner last week.” “That’s not that weird,” Chanse argues.
“No, but if you heard how he said it . . .” “I think we’d know if they were dating, don’t you?” Amanda asks Shayne.
Shayne shrugs. “I dunno. Truly, I think it’d be a little more obvious if they were, but I don’t know.”
“That rain sounds thing was crazy,” Amanda notes.
Angela frowns, running through the rolodex in her head. It’s a funny joke, a good bit, but maybe there’s some more that she hasn’t considered. “That face thing for the slap video?” she suggests.
Courtney whips their head to Angela aghast. “You think it’s that far back? I was thinking, like in the last two months!”
Angela holds her hands up. “I dunno, just brainstorming. But, like, come on. That was, like, weird right?”
“I thought it was funny,” Shayne says.
“I thought it was cute,” Amanda argues.
Angela is quiet for a moment, before she starts to consider the alternatives. “They do drive separately to work.”
“Well, not every day,” Courtney argues. “I’ve been keeping track—” “Courtney,” Chanse deadpans.
“No, listen!” she insists, quietly. “I swear. They drive separately every four or five days, but then they show up together on the next one. Then it’s back to four or five separate—I’m telling you, I’ve noticed. It’s not exact, but it’s just frequent enough.”
Angela hadn’t noticed that. They do occasionally leave at the same time, but she hadn’t tracked them out to the parking lot.
“You guys,” Courtney says, deadly serious even in her whisper. “I’m pretty sure they’re dating.”
“But, why wouldn’t they tell us?” Amanda asks.
Courtney goes quiet. “Huh,” they say eventually, sitting back in their chair.
“I mean, I get not sharing it with the whole internet, but us? I mean,” Amanda glances between Shayne and Courtney, “we’re not bad at keeping secrets.”
Shayne gives that a considerate nod. “True.”
Courtney’s mouth turns into a thoughtful frown, lips pouted. “I guess that’s a good point.”
“They might be Ian’s glasses,” Chanse says, nodding to Courtney’s phone. “But also, it might be some weird painting tool that we don’t know about.”
“Maybe he was over when Anthony took that one on the table. They do hang out,” Amanda adds.
“That jacket could have been Anthony’s,” Courtney relents.
“Maybe they like to carpool for the environment,” Angela adds.
The tables are quiet for another long moment before Courtney sighs. “Fine, okay, you’re probably right. But if I find out they are, you’ll never hear the end of me.”
“Hey.”
Angela nearly falls out of her chair, and by the looks of wide-eyed fear and shock, the rest of them are caught off guard, too. Angela turns and sees Ian and Anthony walking out of the meeting room across from the lunch area.
“Hey,” Shayne says, the first to recover himself.
Anthony raises one eyebrow as he appraises the group. “What, uh, what’s up, guys? Did we interrupt something?”
“No, you just scared us,” Angela lies, placing a hand over her quickly beating heart. Maybe it wasn’t such a huge lie.
“Oh, our bad,” Ian says. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” Courtney shakes their head. “Meeting go well?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah,” Anthony says with a grin.
“I have to get to the Games stage.” Chanse stands and gives Angela and Courtney meaningful looks.
“Oh, shit, me too!” Angela catches his drift.
“Oh, same!”
Amanda gasps loudly. “Oh no, Shayne, Selina’s gonna kill us!”
“Oh, shit, I didn’t realize what time it is!” Shayne checks his watch then begins to hustle towards the podcast stage. Amanda scrambles after him.
“C’mon, we’re not late yet but soon!” Courtney says, ushering Chanse and Angela with her.
And like a bad magic show, they all disappear.
***
Ian shakes his head. “Stupid.”
Anthony glances fondly after Courtney. “They’re so close.”
“Maybe the next one needs to be a little more obvious.” Ian brushes his elbow against Anthony’s and Anthony looks at him in surprise. That’s awfully forward at work.
Anthony grins. “I got one. How about you walk through the background of my next yoga story?” Ian laughs and nudges him to begin walking towards their office. Anthony obliges, but he still wants an answer. “C’mon, I think Courtney would actually faint.” “How about I take a pic of you sleeping in the bed?” Ian offers. “With something like ‘new sheets, who dis?’”
Anthony throws his head back and laughs. “We wanna tease her, not kill her!”
“You’re no fun, that’s gold,” Ian pouts.
Anthony licks his lips and lowers his eyelids when they enter the office and close the door behind them. “You can take a different kind of pic of me in bed if you want.”
Ian shoots him a heated look over his glasses. “I’ll be walking through that yoga story, because that one will be private use only.”
If you are taking drabble ideas👀 something angsty with Charlie and Shayne with “Are you okay? You don’t look okay.” ? Just an idea. (Not me being hit by lightning whenever I see you are about to write somehting🙈) @writing-whump
June Drabbles 2024
Thank you, Sol!! It's definitely more of a short fic than a drabble.
Word Count: 1,277
CW: anxiety, fear, nausea.
___
“Shayne!” Charlie yelped.
Before Shayne could turn his head to see what was wrong, he felt Charlie’s hand slap against his stomach. His jacket was grabbed and given a rough pull, dragging him back from the edge of the path just as a motorbike whizzed past.
Shayne saw the red pedestrian light then. A truck flew through the crossing, blurring his vision, and his knees felt weak.
He had thought that seeing Charlie would have put an end to the nervous energy that had been building inside his body over the past few weeks, but it turned out that being in the presence of the thing that you spent twenty hours a day worrying about and four hours a night having stress dreams about did very little to soothe the nerves. Butterflies should have swooped in and relieved the knots in his stomach once Charlie was by his side, but apparently, it was possible for a stomach to twist and flutter all at the same time.
“Are you okay?” Charlie was still gripping Shayne’s jacket with both hands. He was eyeing Shayne up and down, and not in the drinking-in-him kind of way that usually followed their reunions. “Because you don’t look okay, and you almost just flung yourself into traffic –”
“Sorry. I’m sorry.”
Charlie's mouth gaped, as though he couldn't believe that that was all Shayne had to say in response, but he said nothing.
Shayne shifted his feet, lining the toes of his boots up alongside the edge of the concrete. His heart was hammering in his ears, but he could barely hear it over the constant background roar of the traffic.
“Still not used to the city.”
“Yeah! Clearly." Charlie's hands hovered as he let go of Shayne's jacket. "What, do you just never leave the house unless I’m visiting?”
Shayne turned his face away from Charlie and flexed his jaw, breathing hard through a swell of nausea.
"They're still keeping you cooped up?" Charlie hummed uneasily. "That kind of sucks."
Across the street, the red standing figure switched to a green walking one. The colours seemed to blur and sway when Shayne blinked.
“Light’s green,” he mumbled, but Charlie didn’t move, so neither did he.
Charlie tilted his head so that Shayne’s couldn’t dodge eye contact for a couple of seconds. Fuck, Charlie was so pretty. His eyes were an even deeper shade of blue than Shayne had remembered. But they were so full of worry.
Next thing he knew, Shayne felt a hand rest against his temple, then brush across his forehead. Another surge of adrenaline almost tugged Shayne’s legs from under him.
“Seriously. You don’t look good,” Charlie frowned. “Your eyes are all glassy.”
“I’m fine. Just…” His mouth was dry, but Shayne tried to swallow. He couldn’t bear the concern in Charlie’s eyes, not on top of everything else, so he dropped his gaze again. If the tightness in his throat would have let him, he’d have tried harder to explain how being in the middle of the city, just a speck in a flat, noisy sea of people, made him feel. And how much worse it was that Charlie was here too, in the very same position. Exposed. Vulnerable.
“It feels weird,” he said quietly to the pavement. "Being out here."
He felt Charlie's gaze still pinning him, and his stomach twisted.
"It's not Ryan and Nancy who keep me in the house," Shayne said. "It's me. It feels... safer."
“That’s – oh.” Charlie turned to face the road again. He absently reached out to press the crossing button. “I – I mean, I offered to meet you at Ryan’s. We could have just hung out there.”
“Oh, yeah, sure,” Shayne said through his teeth. The fact that a few other people had wandered up and were waiting for the lights to change did his anxiety no favours. “So you could spend the entire day feeling like shit because of Nancy’s magic. Sounds like a great time.”
“And this is better?” Charlie was obviously not as concerned by the presence of strangers as Shayne was because he did not lower his voice at all. His eyes darted gently back and forth between Shayne’s, the creases between his eyebrows never easing up. “Lovely, it was bad enough a minute ago when I thought you were sick, but you’re this nervous..."
“I’m not – I’ll be fine. I’ll be fine, I’m…” Shayne rubbed his hands over his face and tried to catch a breath. It also didn’t hurt that he could hide his expression from Charlie for a few seconds, because holy fuck, those eyes were torturing him in ways he couldn’t explain. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. I just –”
“I-I think…” Shayne inhaled sharply. Stupid trembling. It wasn’t fair for him to be the one who broke down.
He lowered his hands and gulped once more around the knot in his oesophagus. The sidewalk was empty again, aside from the two of them; they had missed another turn of the lights, the little red figure returning to tell them to continue staying put.
“I think I need to go home. By myself.”
Charlie opened his mouth and let out a sound like he'd been punched. "What do you mean?"
“I know you came all the way here to see me, and I really needed – I really wanted to see you. I love you, I love you so fucking much that it hurts, it physically hurts me when we’re apart, but being together puts you in danger, and that’s worse, and if being apart from you means you’re safe, then – then that’s fine.” Shayne winced and shook his head as the reality of his own words struck him like a fist to the gut. “No, it’s not fine, it fucking sucks, but it’s – it’s better. It’s better, isn’t it, Charlie?”
“Stop.”
Shayne looked up. He hadn’t even realised he’d been staring down at his and Charlie’s shoes on the concrete.
“Stop. Protecting. Me,” Charlie said. “I know that’s the real reason you left. I – I hate to say it out loud because it makes me sound like a self-centred prick, but I know it’s the real reason you do a lot of the things you do.”
He knows. He knows. It was as though a line running through Shayne’s brain had just been fed a little slack after being pulled taut for a long time. His shoulders sagged a little along with it, and the muscles in his jaws started to tremble beneath his skin.
A sad smile tugged at one side of Charlie’s face, his eyes brightening with tears. “Correct me if I’m wrong and if I am just a self-centred prick.”
“You’re… You’re not.”
“But you did it. I’m safe, sweetheart. It’s done, and you can…” Charlie paused, letting out a sigh as Shayne dropped his forehead against his chest. He cupped a hand against the back of Shayne’s head. “You can stop now. You can let yourself stop.”
I don’t know how. Shayne felt the last of his defenses shrivel way under the gentle fingers that were now tugging their way through his curls. His hands found Charlie’s waist and he curled his fingers into the folds of his hoodie. And yet all that had been fueling him since he'd tried to break away from Madelyn's control still curdled in the pit of his stomach.
I don’t know how to stop.
The lights must have changed again, because car engines whirred in place, and footsteps clicked off the edge of the path and onto the road. Charlie didn’t move, so Shayne didn’t either.
I don't know if I can.
Here is a list of some of my favorite fics I wrote this year. I had so much fun doing it, and feel like I have gotten back into the groove of it! Only for adults!
Uncharted Territory: Ian and Anthony are just reunited, but Anthony spirals into a panic attack, thinking he should have been there for Ian all those years. Lots of sexual undertones...
The Hot One: a comedy of sorts, featuring jealous!Anthony, implied Shayne x Amanda and weed. I forgot I haven't finished this story, oops! Definitely will the coming year.
Black Widow: a story about Sarah Christ and a tentacle monster, need I elaborate?
Feet 2: part of my feet trilogy, featuring Angela x Arasha. They're doing yoga together but Angela is distracted.
Danthony2023: as one of the two only Danthony shippers, Dan being the other one, I felt the solemn duty of writing a fic for them. I am very pleased with the result.
Swaffling: a funny yet hot ianthony fic where Anthony feels insecure being the 'new' guy and Ian helps him find his confidence.
Just Like That: an Antmien fic where Damien is on holiday and has a certain encounter with a mystery person...
Then Do It: an Ian x Shayne x Courtney fic set in the Inbetween years.
All Of The Lights: Shayne and Damien accidentally sneak on Ian and Anthony doing questionable things in their office. Shayne gets in his head about it. Shaymian tension.
Bromance In Paradise: a comedy set in a reality show AU. I'm very happy with how this one turned out.
Without You: an angsty little fic about Anthony who's about to quit Smosh. He tries to reach out to Ian, but no luck.
Falling: about Anthony being jealous of that one time Amanda kissed Ian...
Walnut Grove: Ian and Anthony go on holiday together and watch the Milky Way.
Three's a party: my longest fic to date! It revolves around Ian, Anthony and a mystery girl. Feelings get explored, hands are held, very spicy times commence... there's empty parking lot weed smoking, lmao!
Can you give a sneak peak to your upcoming fics or anything that you're working on?
Yes! The big thing I'm working on I can't share because it is for Smoshblr Big Bang and I can't share my plot for challenge reasons!
Alternatively, I spun a wheel and wrote the pairing it gave me. I wrote based on a number @sheisaquarius-blog gave me for my prompt list!
So, here is a snippet of a Shayne/Ian angst (because I cannot stop writing angsty Shian 🥴)
Top 5 Taylor Swift songs + Top 5 songs you associate with someone on smosh? 👀🩵
STELLA!!! i'm giving you a hug through the screen bc these questions are making my swiftie heart so happy!
my top 5 fave taylor songs are
right where you left me - this song is a literal masterpiece. i think it captures that feeling of being stuck/ not being able to get over something SO well!
nothing new - this is such a vulnerable song and i love it so much! the knowing "nothing at 22 line" hits hard
out of the woods - i remember hearing this song back when it first came out and it was a major ear worm. the 1989 era is what really got me into taylor
cruel summer - this is my fave song off lover and and i'm so happy it's gotten a resurgence this last year
anti-hero - the inner-turmoil plus the synth beat had me bopping my head when midnights came out
i'll put the taylor + smosh cast songs under here so it doesn't get too long lol
ask me my top fives!
the top 5 songs i associate with smosh cast members are
the archer (shayne) - i LOVE some angsty shayne shit and this song really touches on my fave characterization of him and how he's got these deep-seated insecurities
the man (courtney) - this song gives me big courtney energy, especially in regards to some negative comments they've gotten from commenters over the years. but love seeing her thrive!
mirrorball (damien) - the "all i do is try, try, try" line has ALWAYS given me damien vibes. i love the characterization of how him trying to entertain people and keep them happy
castles crumbling (ian) - this song gives me ian post-anthony leaving smosh energy where he's getting all the "where's anthony?" comments and facing constant critcism
look what you made me do (arasha) - arasha is a reputation girly in my mind! and this song really fits her villain vibe
fake fic titles
lost in translation - shaymanda
why did i think of something sad. kinda angsty fic where shayne is in one side of the earth and amanda’s in another. both of them have left smosh for a bit now and are chasing different careers/living different lives. one day amanda decides to contact a few of her old friends and shayne was one of the first ones to reply immediately. basically a fic where their main form of communication is through text or call bc they’re constantly busy but still want to reconnect. there’s an underlying sense of “what if i/i shouldve/maybe if things were different” throughout the fic to make it hurt more :D
send me a ship + a fake fic title!
Idk if you make a playlist for fics you write but I was wondering if you listened to any specific songs while writing RMYLM and the Spider-Man AU? (other than the obvious RMYLM and Sunflower lol)
oh LOVE this question!! so - i didn't make playlists for either of these specific fics (though i might make one retroactively for rwylm bc brain worms real) BUT i do have answers for this.
for rwylm, i listened to a combo of the iwks playlist (for the silly goofy upbeat parts), the domo playlist (for the super angsty playlist), and guts (for everything in between). iwks mostly consists of upbeat pop songs, and that really drove me for like the bar scene and the shayne trying to fix everything montage and stuff like that. specific songs highlighted are 'stupid for you' by the waterparks and 'everybody talks' by neon trees. now the domo of it all was more important here bc its mostly pining, and although not quite the vibes, 'sweet tooth' by cavetown and 'pancakes for dinner' by lizzy mcalpine were both on repeat in here - and of course 'right where you left me' by miss taylor swift herself for all of your angsty shaymien friend breakup purposes. and guts was just my catch-all for when i was trying to focus but still wanted to jam. yk. alexa play 'lacy' by olivia rodrigo.
sunflower!! so sunflower i listened to a couple of things - i tried spiderman playlists for a while but i couldn't find one i loved. but i will say some songs i did vibe with were 'karma' by taylor swift, 'not going back' by donald glover, 'fallin (adrenaline)' by why don't we, and '8teen' by khalid. BUT i was on a time crunch so i really needed to focus and it was halloween. so i mostly ended up listening to my 'just clown vibes' playlist which has songs like. 'coconut mall theme' and 'killer klowns' by the dickies JDNFNLFFNLN
drabble prompt: shaymien and COVID19. both topical and on brand
“Heeeeeey, what’s up, Shayne?”
“So, I don’t think I’m straight.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
Damien fidgets in his seat, bringing his feet off the ground and tucking them closer. No one ever looks straight in the camera during video chats, but in the wide screen of his monitor, Damien can tell Shayne’s mind tonight is somewhere else entirely. There are a lot of things Damien wants to tell him, mainly that it’s okay—but he knows saying that would make Shayne wonder why being not-straight would warrant an assurance of everything being okay—and anyway, Damien has more pressing questions at the forefront of his mind.
“What, uh – what made you realize that?”
They sit in silence for a second. Shayne drags his hand over his face, then sighs, “Time. All this time on my hands.”
“Yeah.”
“But… I dunno. I was just thinking about this person I saw in the grocery store, this guy… and the more I think about it, I remember seeing him and thinking he was just… pretty. Like, that’s the only word I would use to describe him. Just pretty. And when I picture him, I still think he’s pretty.”
A small smile creeps onto Damien’s face as Shayne continues. “It’s weird because I’m, like, nervous about it. Not nervous about thinking the way I do, but just fluttery nervous. Like butterflies-in-the-stomach sort of nervous. Good nervous, I guess?” Shayne ducks his head, hiding beneath his arms. “Ugh. I’m gonna start having dreams about this guy.”
After a slow sip of water, Damien cocks his head and watches his friend. “So,” he starts softly, “are you gonna ask for his number if you see him again?”
“…No.” Shayne pulls his head up into view. “No, I couldn’t. I don’t think I want to, anyway. I haven’t been in the mood to date anyone since…whenever.”
Damien chuckles quiet through his nose. “Aw, baby boy. You’ve been out of the game for longer than I have.”
“Oh, since when were you keeping track?” Shayne snorts. The urge to apologize immediately swells in Damien’s throat, but the way Shayne drops his chin into his hands, the exaggeration of the movement, is playful enough to cut the tension. “But actually, one of us probably does need to go on a date. Have you noticed that all of our serious relationships started and ended at around the same time?”
Damien blinks, then giggles softly. “No, I haven’t. And I don’t want to think about what that implies, either.”
“Heh heh… yeah.” Shayne shrugs. “Well, like I said, it implies that one of us needs to go on a date.”
“‘Needs to’,” Damien mocks, grinning. “God, you’re starting to sound like Ian.”
“Hey, you started it!” Shayne laughs. He leans away from the camera to lie on what Damien recognizes to be his bed, where Shayne must’ve been sitting this entire conversation. He can tell they’ve reached a weird point in the face chat, where it’s too late to stay online but they’re too lazy to say goodbye. Damien merely watches Shayne’s profile now, as Shayne stares at his ceiling and sighs. “I’m so goddamn tired with this virus. I just wanna be with you.”
Damien’s smile softens. “I wanna be with you, too,” he says. He feels strange saying it in the warmth of a bedroom separate from a world in crisis, separate from his world in crisis. Nothing about the past week has felt quite the same—for Shayne or for anyone, Damien presumes—but here and now feels familiar, blessedly normal. And maybe also a good kind of nervous, but that’s another conversation for another night. So Damien smiles wider. “I guess for now you’ll just have to settle with cute-grocery-store guy.”
“Wow, okay. So this is what I get for coming out to my best friend.”
“Love youuuu,” Damien coos. “I completely support you coming out and I actually really care about and miss you but it’s easier to make fun of you so love youuuuu.”
Shayne shakes his head, beaming at the ceiling. “Ugh, I hate you.”
"Don't be embarrassed; it's/you're cute." with Sharlie? :')
100 Word Drabbles (98. Defiance) | Prompt Meme
CW: hunger, embarrassment, food mention, more fluffy than angsty for a change.
Early-ish Days Shayne and Charlie i.e. they're friends but not dating. (I struggled to choose an idea because I had so many but this was the one I settled on)
___
Charlie thought he must have been dreaming when he heard Shayne’s stomach growl.
Shayne, however, scowled in open defiance of the sound. He glanced at Charlie, as though confirming that he’d heard. He dropped his history book and pulled his knees up to hide his face.
"H-hey, don’t be embarrassed!" Charlie scratched his own neck. "You're... cute."
Why? Why am I like this? He screamed at himself.
Shayne groaned, but didn’t look up, otherwise he would have seen a very red-in-the-face Charlie.
"I-I'm hungry too,” Charlie said, hoping that would help. “Dad’s making lasagna tonight. I think you’ll like it.”
Hey! It's time for another post where I catalogue what I read and give some love to the authors!
What I've Read This Week:
You've Been A Ghost I Still Care About by @xxmoonch1ldxx Ian/Anthony - Ianthony - written for me by the wonderful Viktor and based on an angsty prompt. This is so soft and hurts but still has hope because you know what happens in the future. A gorgeous piece focused on a moment where Ian and Anthony run into each other in Sacramento during their split.
(Nothing Else Ever Felt So Right) Diving Deep Into You And I by @xxmoonch1ldxx Ian/Anthony - Ianthony - a very cute slice of life fic based on the Werewolf Smosh Games video where Ian works at Pinkberry and Anthony at Blockbuster in 2007. So cute and sweet and I love, love, love the universe built here!
Can I guess who kissed me? by @hecoxthirst - Ian/Anthony - Ianthony - based on the idea that Courtney pitched of having a guessed who kissed me episode. In this Ian is the one guessing and Anthony has a cute surprise for him. Fluffy and big smosh family vibes and ahhh I love it.
Show And Tell by @punk-gremlin - Shayne/Amanda - Shaymanda - a super interesting au where Smosh has an onlyfans and films for it as they would their regular series. I am super excited by this au! I love, love, love me some Shaymanda so!!!
everything was perfect, but that was until the fall came.
it started with mikey losing emma. next came draken, and then, he had to lose you too. with everything that has happened in the world of delinquents, your relationship with each other has gotten caught up in all of it. your and mikey's contradiction of ideas and beliefs resulted in lack of trust and respect for each other. what's even worse was that you two failed to reconcile with each other when you had to leave.
it was only then, when you returned, that you found out what happened to your boyfriend, along with his sister and brother. in those two years, mikey believed that you had left him for good, just like what takemichi did. it was either that, or something came up, and you ended up dying.
you couldn't really blame him and everyone else for believing so. when you left your boyfriend and his friends, you lost touch with them. you practically disappeared without a trace, along with your dad. you had to leave home to take care of business that involved your yuuji-nii's execution, as well as taking back the book of the damned that had been stolen from you.
as soon as you returned home, it was already september nine and you were in for a shock when you were welcomed by two ghosts. it was emma and draken respectively. you even almost mistook them for still being alive, but that was until you tried to hug emma. again, you didn't know.
"mikey has gone astray."
"save mikey."
you wasted no time using your chaos magic to locate where exactly he was, practically dropping everything you had and had no time to mourn and loom over their deaths.
you found yourself in the old cargo bay. gang uniforms of yin and yang filled your vision as you overviewed everything from the atmosphere. you instantly perked up at the ominous aura radiating from the white's side. with your heightened eyesight and senses, you instantly recognized the person radiating it. as violent fists and blunts rained upon the battleground, you intervened, using your red psionics to land on your feet, right in between the two separate gangs. everyone halted at your presence at that instant.
"[name]-san." takemichi, the second generation president of toman, gasped in shock.
it didn't take long for whispers about you to flood the atmosphere, but you thought nothing of them.
you sauntered your way towards the faux hawk haired boy, kneeling down to his side, using your red psionics to patch up his and the rest of the gang's injuries whilest keeping your gaze affixed towards the opposite gang, particularly towards the blonde boy that was sitting in a cargo container.
"y-you're alive?" takemichi looked as if he was going to cry. all this time, he too believed you were really gone, and now, seeing you alive and well, gave him so much more hope.
"yeah, not six feet under." you confirmed before standing up from your kneeling position.
as toman bombarded you with welcomes, you remained still and drowned out all their voices. the heels of your shoes clicked against the pavement as you calmly made your way towards the opposite gang when their gang members blocked you.
"who the hell do you think you are?"
"you've got some nerve to disrupt us!"
"so, you're mikey's dead ex-girlfriend."
you smiled at the men standing in your way with kindness before slicing the air by stretching your arm out straightforwardly, your eyes and fingertips glowed a menacing red color which all of toman's members were all familiar off. with just a simple movement, all of them were badly sent flying, causing the rest of kanto manji gang, including the supposed captains and vice president, to stiffen up and step away from you.
"out of my way." was all you uttered as your eyes hardened into a glare.
once a path for you had been made, your eyes made its way towards your supposed boyfriend.
"mikey.."
you watched your usually smiling and playful boyfriend stare at you blankly, almost glaring at you the same way you did at him. "aren't you supposed to be dead? do you think coming back here is going to make things better, [name]?" his voice was cold and almost devoid of emotions.
"huh, i'm sorry. i can't hear you. why don't you try saying that to my face?"
with the simple raise of your index finger, your red psionics took hold of him and yanked him towards you by the collar. once your faces were inches away from each other, you couldn't help but feel your heart crumble. he looked so different from upclose.
"well?" you raised a brow, urging him to speak.
"i should be the one asking you that." mikey replied, eyes staring blankly into yours. "what do you want me to do, [name]? what do you want me to say, hmm?"
"why are you doing this?" you spoke calmly this time, well, more like tried to, as you loosened your magic's grip on him.
"this is the path i choose, so stay out of my way and stay dead. you mean nothing to me now."
at that instant, you realized one thing. this was no longer the same mikey you knew and loved. your mikey would never look at in such a way, or talk like that to you.
"you don't mean that." you tried to convince him and you. "we both know you don't."
unable to hold it in, bitter hot tears filled the brim of your eyes. despite the vulnerability you displayed, mikey ought nothing of it.
"i mean it, fushiguro [name]."
his heart was no longer beating for you, instead it was empty and black as the void that corrupted and consumed him whole, and his mind was as dark as his heart.
he no longer loved you, and that was something you had to accept now.
you found yourself laughing not long after. you knew this all too well and fate did a great job of not just making you take after the scarlet witches that exists in the vast universes out there, but also your father, gojo satoru. he lost suguru, a person dear to him, and now you lost mikey too. you and gojo might be the strongest sorcerers alive, but not even the blessings bestowed upon you both could defeat and prevent the darkness from succumbing the people you loved. they were your imperfections to your near god-like powers.
"then, so be it."
your hand made it's way towards the ring adorning your finger, the same promise ring that mikey had given you in the past, only to pull it off from your finger.
promises were the sweetest lies that ceased to exist. promises were meant to be broken in the very end. god did you wish you listened to gojo from the very start when he refused to let you and mikey be. your daddy was right about him.
with that, you lifted the ring to his view before crushing it with your chaos magic imbued hand, letting all the memories and promises you onced cherished crumble and reduce to nothing. you shoved him away from you as you readied yourself into a fighting stance and stood among the tokyo manji gang who immediately lined up with you.
"tch, there's no way we are fighting a witch." you heard one of the kanto manji gang members utter, particularly the vice president, sanzu haruchiyo.
your bitterness was soon replaced by a smirk and you were the suddenly the splitting image of gojo satoru. "it will be fine. i'll make sure i'll go easy on you guys, after all you're weak."
the entirety of the opposing gang held a scornful yet intimidated look as they stared at you as you uttered those words.
"i'll stop you, sano manjiro, but i'm not going to let you end up like uncle geto.."
a single tear rolled down your cheek as flashes of your memories with the old sano manjiro, your mikey, played inside your head before you closed your glowing red eyes and opened them again.
"it's the least i can do for our closure and maybe, just maybe, make you come back to your senses."
you readied into a stance and glanced at takemichi as he and the rest of the gang gave you a look of sympathy, knowing how much you loved mikey and how this was heartbreaking for you. nonetheless, you held your head up high as you swiped away more tears from your eyes. even though you were vulnerable and overwhelmed by a lot of mixed emotions such as anguish, betrayal, and bitterness right now, you still had the strength to hold it together and be strong. takemichi and the rest of toman admired you for that.
"on your lead, president."
you swallowed the lump in your throat, hardening your gaze as you returned it towards mikey and the rest of kanto manji gang.
