She could feel the snow on her lashes, taste it on her lips. It was the taste of Winterfell. The taste of innocence. The taste of dreams. Sansa VII - ASOS
a couple of photos I took haha:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way it’s written is so dreamy so I wanted to paint Winterfell as this castle in the clouds because, right now, that is exactly what it is for Sansa (and the rest of the Starklings). It feels like that far away place you can run to, for safety, for love, if in nothing but your dreams. I hope all of them come back home soon, it’s waiting, right behind the clouds, right behind their tired eyes.

This might be a surprise but I often don't see most people as equal to me. Not that they aren't people, more that I and the person/people I value are something greater, as the definition of something is defined by the majority of what that thing is, so the majority of people being basically, well, moronic animals, it's a feature of humanity. A select few, my partner, sometimes a few others irl, and some people I know from here and discord, I see as more than that, but most people are just... An obstacle, or a tool, to me. I try not to let that affect how I treat people but that's often difficult for me. I'm nice, even charming on occasion, to most people I meet, particularly when certain parts are in front, or I see the person I'm meeting as potentially useful as an ally, but it's not because I feel like they deserve the kind of respect I maintain for people I truly care about from me. It's because people are nicer to you if you're nice first. Even if it's "fake" nice, as long as you don't tell anyone (that's two-faced, also a crime in the eyes of egotypicals) they genuinely don't seem to notice that it's all an act.
I think most people deserve the maintenance of this veneer of respect, as not doing so is typically offensive, but genuine respect is vulnerability, and I only show my belly to those I both see as my equal, and whom I trust not to bite and tear at my softness.
Sometimes someone will be in this group of equals in my eyes, and they say or do something I resent, and a switch flips in my brain, and I just don't give a fuck about them anymore.
It worries me that one day, my partner is gonna be one of them. So far, she's my longest lasting exception to the rule of generally not liking or respecting or showing vulnerability to anyone.
She's also the only one genuinely in the position of having earned my complete respect and admiration. For everyone else, it's been temporary and negotiable, able to be lost and at its root, incomplete. For her it's been nearly eight years, and a lot of mistakes, and it still hasn't gone away, but every time my symptoms flare and the group of people I see as even worth giving the time of day shrinks, my concern grows that the only person I've ever truly loved unconditionally, will turn out to have some conditions after all.
She's the only one I care about the opinion of. And she knows how I feel about most of humanity and agrees with me.
I think we both may have ASPD.

Does anyone have tips on making and coding a tribute page? For example, how do you go about choosing a person for it? Is it bad practice to use a fictional character instead of a real one? Like, will a fictional character look worse if the tribute page is used in a portfolio, or does it not matter? Also, how do you keep the research for a tribute page from getting boring?

Sometimes after months and months of stressed induced illness progressively getting worse while feeling very alone and isolated, you’ve just got to read about two 18th century Swiss gays, one of which facing months and months of stress induced illness while NOT feeling very alone and isolated.
Thank god after tomorrow I’m off on study leave, I don’t think I can force myself through one more school day while progressively getting more and more out of it mentally and generally physically worse.

so. after some private discussion and further delving, we Most Likely (don't quote me on this, with a grain of salt, blah blah blah self doubt is a prick) have a CDD, probably OSDD [editors note 7.18.24: it's actually (most likely) DID]. depending on how deep the amnesia has to run (between every headmate? well, we don't have that necessarily unless someone opts out of adding a memory to the Collective Memory Bin. what we do have is amnesia between eras, with the amnesia getting worse the further back you go until you get "if a headmate from this era isn't there anymore then their memories just straight up do not exist" and "even headmates that formed during that era only have a foggy memory of their own experiences during then" during the very first distinguishable era; memories are also not shared between layers. on top of that, we have generalized memory issues that can lead to us forgetting things we'd heard quite literally seconds before, even when we're paying complete attention, and we have a solid amount of non-headmate-specific time loss), maybe DID [editors note 7.18.24: see above]. regardless, we are somewhere along the OSDD-1 - DID continuum, and which camp we're placed in depends entirely on whether we have "enough" or the "right kind" of amnesia in the eyes of others
now. to be absolutely clear.
1) we are still gateway, and the vast majority of our surface-level functioning (ie, with Yhine and how we function there) is deeply if not wholly metaphysical. we will still eat your teeth if you try to twist our metaphysical experiences into something psychological.
2) we're still mixed origins, still adaptive-spontaneous, still endogenic-out-of-spite (even if the adaptive origins played a heavier role than we originally realized). we've had enough identity-shattering realizations, we're not going to bend over backwards and rip out our own spine to be a Respectable Real System (derogatory) when we've already halfway fucked ourselves over in the process of trying to determine whether or not we had a CDD for the third fucking time in our life.
3) this only came up because we realized we fit the polyfragmented description almost to a T (we have trouble distinguishing fragments from whole headmates because so many only front once and then hang out in Yhine for the rest of their lives, and we have a policy of "assume complexity unless proven otherwise" to avoid being a dickhole to each other, and that's the only "criteria" we're somewhat iffy on. then again, we only have access to Yhine, maybe there's more fragments in other layers, who knows), but pretty much every single in-depth resource we found either implied or directly stated that being polyfrag is a CDD-only thing. had that not been the case, we would have gone through a lot less stress and strife trying to figure this shit out, and possibly would have been able to learn about this at a much less emotionally fraught time. (context for that last conjecture is on our main blog, not going to detail it here)
tl;dr, we (almost certainly) have A CDD (which one entirely depends on how lenient or stringent you are on how much/what kind of amnesia "counts" to have DID), this is the only thing that's changing about what we are and what we call ourselves, and we're pissed because this only came up after seeing basically every resource act like you have to have a CDD to be polyfrag (which near guaranteed that we Are), and had that not been the case, we wouldn't have had to put ourselves through excess stress and anxiety and frustration during a time when we're already distraught because of other major personal life things. regardless of whether or not you think being polyfrag is a CDD-only experience, surely we can all agree that it's fucked that we had to go through that just to be able to describe our experiences in a way that makes Other People--who likely do not necessarily have our best interests in mind--Happy. absolutely none of this tangibly benefited us beyond "we get to describe ourselves more accurately (as polyfrag specifically) with slightly less worry about people jumping down our throat". "oh but think of the long term!" in another world, the "long term" would be we figure out we have a CDD in a much less distressing way during a much less stressful time, and are ultimately healthier and happier.
ugh.

I’ve been designing collages with multimedia materials such as acrylic paint, stickers, magazine cutouts and excerpts of my poetry. And I’m wondering if anyone has any good recommendations of magazines that have a variety of body types and represent women of colour. Any are appreciated! Even if it’s an indie magazine, it doesn’t matter as long as it fits the criteria I’m looking for!

supporting communities & people impacted by the Southport attack and the far-right riots in the UK
here is a list of community fundraisers I found, starting with those aiming to support the Southport community after the appalling attack at a children dance party, to the fundraisers helping those affected by the subsequent racist and Islamophobic far-right/nazi riots
Edited on 5 August to include Middlesbrough fundraisers. Edited on 6 August to correct the link on the Books for Spellow Lane fundraiser, to adjust the name change for the Belfast fundraiser, and to adjust the wording in the second last paragraph.
Southport:
Southport Strong Together Appeal - organised by the community foundation for Merseyside, for those affected by the Southport knife attack
United for Southport families - the funds will be distributed among the nine families of the children who were at the party
Swifties for Southport - a fundraiser for the Alder Hey Children's charity, which supports the victims and the affected families, as well as first responders and clinicians. Extra funds will also support the wider Southport community
Fundraiser for the Southport Mosque - a fundraiser to aid rebuilding or possibly re-locating the Southport Mosque after the damages it suffered during the riots
Rebuilding Windsor Mini Mart - fundraiser to rebuild the locally-owned grocery store that was targeted during the attacks, broken into, and looted
Liverpool:
Fundraiser for the Spellow Hub - the Spellow Hub was broken into, looted and set on fire at night during the riots. The Spellow Hub is a newly created one-of-a-kind (in the UK) institution, which consists of a library as well as a community centre with a mission to help people get education and pathways to work
Books for Spellow Lane - another fundraiser for the library in the Spellow Hub, to replace the books and rebuild the library there edit: included the correct link
Hartlepool:
Fundraiser for the Nasir Mosque - the Nasir Mosque was attacked following Southport riots; this fundraiser is organised by Hartlepool citizens to help the mosque deal with the damages as well as to show appreciation for the role of the mosque in the community. edit: the funds will be also distributed to the local community!
Rebuilding the Farm Shop - the shop was targeted during the riots, and when the owner and his son tried to protect it, they were also violently attacked. The fundraiser is to help fix the damages to the store.
Sunderland:
help rebuild Citizens Advice Sunderland offices after arson - two of the Citizens Advice Sunderland offices were set on fire during the riots, and one of them is completely destroyed.
Hull:
Hull Help for Refugees - a local fundraiser to support the Hull Help for Refugees charity, the donated money will be re-distributed to community members affected by the riots
Fundraiser for Hull Help for Refugees and Welcome House in Hull - collected money will be donated to the two charities
Belfast:
help fix racially motivated damages - originally the fundraiser for the Sahara Shisha Cafe which was targeted by the far right in Belfast during the riots, now a fundraiser for all affected businesses in the area. edited to reflect the change of the name of the fundraiser to avoid any confusion
Middlesbrough:
Supporting residents after the riots - Middlesbrough has suffered so much during the riots, lots of businesses as well as just regular family homes were vandalised, had their windows smashed or even were broken into. This fundraiser wants to distribute the funds between affected people to help them fix the damages, and to generally support the local community. the newest fundraiser, imo potentially the most urgent one
Fundraiser for a Care worker's car which was set on fire - a car belonging to an employee of a care agency was set on fire during the riots while he was on shift at a care home.
If you want to donate locally but there is no fundraiser to support where you live, consider donating to your local charities oriented towards Muslim or PoC communities, or towards anti-racist and refugee organizations! And go support your local Muslim/Arab/Black/Asian/Refugee owned businesses!
If you have any information about other local fundraisers, feel free to add to the post or don't hesitate to let me know and I will add them here! We have seen so much hate in the past few days, we have to stay strong and keep supporting each other!
Stay safe everyone 💛
