As an act of what is perhaps futile masochism, I counted how far my collection is & then got the numbers for my archival wishlist. I just wanted to see how far along I am in achieving my own unreasonable goals. These are the results.

Current to-buy list count: 900+ books

Playing loose and fast with math that means I'm, what--20-22% of the way there? With that in mind, if there are any sugar mommies out there who have a niche interest in insane & unreasonable nerds, I would like to point out that I am available and also capable of mostly behaving. <3

yep i really spent 18 hours drawing….a lunch table…. tried to hide a lot of little details zoom in for a fun little game of eye spy. don’t know how many eyes are here but you can try counting. haven’t really drawn many backgrounds before but I think my passion for Magnus archives must mean something if I’m spending hours drawing paperwork

À dix-huit heures pile la caissière de mon supermarché passe de bonjour à bonsoir. Aucune dérogation. Ça m'arrive encore d'oublier, j'offre un "bonjour Isabelle" malencontreux, il est 18h03, je repars avec un sentiment de faute originelle. Tu peux avoir huit personnes qui entrent derrière toi les unes après les autres avec un "bonjour" frontal elle y opposera ses huit bonsoir avec la neutralité parfaite d'un guichet administratif. J'admire beaucoup en vrai, elle est la personne la moins influençable que je connaisse. La gardienne du seuil entre le jour et la nuit. On peut être en juin sous un soleil radieux, ça sera bonsoir, elle vit sa vie selon l'horloge atomique, la météo n'a aucune importance. J'en discutais avec la bibliothécaire récemment et elle m'a dit que certains prétendent qu'il y a une dizaine d'années de ça, un vendredi, cette caissière aurait laissé échapper un bonsoir prématuré. Heure approximative 17h56. Pendant quatre minutes ça a été le chaos, des oiseaux sont venus s'écraser contre la devanture, des conducteurs dehors ont allumé leurs phares sans savoir pourquoi. On a convenu que ce bonsoir diurne quitterait sans doute bientôt la tradition orale pour intégrer l'un de ces livres de légendes locales que personne n'emprunte jamais parce qu'ils sont rangés sur l'étagère Patrimoine & Terroir avec ceux sur les strates calcaires de nos régions et les recueils de photos de cèpes de 1997.

okay but imagine you are a researcher at the magnus institute looking through the archives for a paper you're writing and one of the statements you're using as a source happens to be on tape so you put it into the tape recorder and this absolute THEATRE KID of a millenial starts girlbossing his way through a spooky story about a soldier being slowly hypnotized by a supernatural mythical representative of war and at the end he abruptly switches off his dramatic voice and returns to "snobby scholar" disses the account entirely and throws in a random but clearly gay snide remark about one of his coworkers for good measure and the tape clicks off after a dun-dun-DUN and at the end of it all youre just sat there completely baffled at this chad of an academic who is apparently so annoyed at the disorganization of his new position that he must mention it seven times per sentence (along with the side comments about that other case with the guy who was haunted by an immortal spider and ended up wrapped in spiderweb post-death TOTALLY COINCIDENTALLY) like "well i can sure use this in my research because it has lots of useful verified information in it and definitely does not exist just so a man can spout his poorly disguised homoerotic yearning out loud into an outdated device full of lo-fi charm"
