Happy Aromantic Spectrum Awareness Week!

Here are parts of my webcomic with aromantic themes in them I wanted to post to join ASAW with some rep in webcomics.

First is a quote of main character Sunny June (purple/blond hair dye) who is greyromantic (and also ace).

Among the ways he experiences his greyromantic side, one aspect is that he can’t identify romantic feelings in himself and others easily and clearly. Therefore, he looks at external factors (e.g., behaving like couples in a movie) to find out if people are romantically involved.

Next one: Sunny June's mother (who is a famous musician) talks about creating music with non-romantic themes:

Back then Sunny June is still a teen. Even though Ally is not on the aromantic spectrum herself, she seems to consider people who are. The song she talks about is a song she wrote about/dedicated to her son who turns out to be greyromantic eventually. Maybe she already figured that out back then and her quote in the panel also refers to him.

These panels are from a prequel story of my webcomic Spotlights and Poison. I hope next year I can show here some panels of aromantic themes in the main story since they are yet to be introduced once the story and characters unfold further.

This is my first finished video I made with procreate dream! Rating: 5/10. It’s kinda ass right now but I trust it’ll get better with updates.

Context under break :)

Soul was the god of emotion, sex, fertility, water, etc. Most of her roles involved mortals, but she felt she didn’t have a great grasp of their cultures. So, in order to fix that, she disguised herself as a celestial elemental (basically an angel but mortal [species post coming soon]) and traveled down to Exernia. While on the beach, she found a dying woman, bleeding out from a large cut in her eye. Soul saved the woman, who introduced herself as Ghost, a human pirate. In exchange for saving her life, Ghost showed Souls the wonders of humanity. They also had sex that accidentally made Ghost immortal but that’s not important rn. When Soul decided it was time to return to the god’s realm, her and Ghost got into a big fight that ended up with Ghost insulting the gods. Soul is very touchy when it comes to her family, being she only has her brother left after The War™️. So she gets pissed, accidentally tries to drown Ghost (which doesn’t work cause she’s immortal now), and escapes back to the god’s realm.

KAZU TACHIBANA: Flame Nocturna

KAZU TACHIBANA, the leader of the mafia clan Arakan in a parallel world full of anthropomorphic animals with humanlike sentience. Ever since he was young he was always fascinated with parallel dimensions, which led him to become more and more distanced from his childhood friend Jun Kojima as he began researching on how to easily travel to these parallel worlds. And, without telling Jun, he disappeared one night… for two years.

Kazu had been building up his reputation as the leader of Arakan, in a city called Matsutori, for those two years. And he refused to go back because he believed humans had become far too corrupt to return to, as he and Jun were treated like almost nothing during their childhood after their parents died in the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Even when Jun tried to convince him to return to their home, he refused.

It only took the near-overturning of the entire mafia industry in Matsutori for Kazu to give humans another chance. The only condition he made was that he continue to be the leader of Arakan. Now, as one of the Nocturna, working with the Vanguard and Jotunhel, he still remains stubborn, impulsive and ill-tempered… but that only becomes worse when he betrays his friends for more power…

PERSONALITY: Short-tempered, brash, harsh, often rude, cynical, apathetic

WEAPON: Twin katanas

POWERS/ABILITIES:

Shapeshifting: can turn into a black cat

Fire manipulation

Heat control: can control levels of heat/temperature in any area

Minimal animal communication due to cat form
