So apparently KOSA (2024 edition) is getting either thrown out until next year or put into effect in six days. That was a guesstimate based on a different person saying that's when Congress is back in session and may be false.

Update that's going in the main post at the top: it has enough support to pass Congress.

It failed the last two times because people were voting against it.

This time, KOSA has traction among the pro-LGBTQ parties. Because nobody is fucking calling their bullshit and screaming from the rooftops that calling it the "Kids Online Safety Act" is misleading.

What will it passing do?

Nothing much, only prevent any education on LGBTQIA+ (it's that stupid fucking argument about us grooming kids again), shut down nearly every fandom space on the internet, and make it required for most big tech companies to have your ID.

Want to have resources for kids to discover their identity readily available? Yes? Then fucking speak up against this stupid fucking bill.

Fandom spaces like Tumblr, Twitter (? I thought the MAGA assholes liked Musk?), Tiktok, Archive Of Our Own, and any other website that hosts fanfic or fanart? Either shut down permanently, forced to uproot to a different country and down for a while (best case scenario, and they likely won't be able to send any data, and therefore fanfics, to the US), or gutted so that you only get to put G rated cishet ships on there, if any shipping at all. How to avoid that? I've already said it: Call your fucking representatives.

Want to avoid the fucking dystopic task of being legally obligated to give big tech your government issue ID? Again, cause an uproar. Call your goddamned representatives.

If they can pass this, the ripple effects could be catastrophic.

So, for fuck's sake, any Americans that can impact this stupid fucking bill and see this? Do everything in your power to shut it down because you have until February twenty sixth (26th) to send this bill back to where it belongs.

Boomerang is so popular, the other day I was scrolling through the ssktjl tag and there was so much boomerang content I thought I was in his tag, it kills me that this game is getting overhated he could be having so much more content coming out 😭

I think the problem for a lot of people is that the game takes place in the Arkham game universe. I also believe it could have been a game on its own and didn't need to be attached to any other franchise.

Plus, a lot of people were upset about Batman's death, but actually, it didn't bother me that much. I was much more shocked by Superman's death, which I find impossible to happen. For me, just like Flash having some lucidity moments (like when speaking to Wonder Woman...) I believe Batman had that lucidity moment, and that's why he let Harley kill him so easily. Cause he knew it was the only way to save earth from Brainiac. He knew he couldn't be redeemed. I know a lot of people will come after me for saying this, but that's just my opinion, everyone can have a different opinion, it's OK 👍🏻.

Also, I cried so much when Wonder Woman died. You can tell Boomer is so conflicted, he don't know how to react. Maybe he had the 'survivor syndrome'. And the fact Harley stayed by her side until she disappeared, yeah I cried hard.

All of this, to say that I agree with you, the game receives a lot of hate for almost no reason. Mostly because I believe the squad was the only real interesting thing about the game. CAPTAIN BOOMERANG was one of the only interesting things about the game. The dev team really puts a lot of effort into his character. That's why he is everywhere. That's why I honestly think he wouldn't have more content even if the game was more loved. Because, everyone who loves him, is already creating amazing art and writing about him. His Boomerang Nation is already by his side.

I put up with Fir/eafy for the good of the community and in the right circumstances I can like it. But I do have some problems with it and I want to say them right now.

I feel like it is currently being overexposed in two seasons that Firey and Leafy aren't even competing in at the moment. And Leafy is getting dumped on even in TPOT. I know "no ships are canon" but it seems they want to make its fans think it is/could be if JnJ had the courage.

And as a BFDI boomer I have issues with how it was set up in the first place, especially in BFDI 24-25. If I was Leafy I would tell Firey to go soak his head, and I don't care how insensitive that is, since he burned me to death. I saw a theory where Bubble was meant to win, but, well, she didn't, so now the end of BFDI makes no sense to me.

But that's not the only problem I have with BFDI-era F/L. They were friends and everything but their interactions felt shallow compared to those between Leafy and Bubble, and yet that is rarely even mentioned. I'm not trying to dump on the fans for it. The problem is mostly with the show imo.

No. I'm pretty neutral about myself but like... If I'm not me, what's the point you know? I really don't admire people in general.

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?

Most of it I do on my laptop. I'll sometimes write on my phone. Eveything is in my cloud. I'm employed and totally a boomer about the softwares I use, so I actually pay for Office and for a neat grammatical tool that doubles as a dictionary because English Is Hell.

What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?

I Don't Control The Hyperfixation.

(I'm just very weird about very specific things until they consume me)

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

I like stories about people utterly destroyed by life and who are forced to confront all that stuff. But they can't be fixed. I love sad/bittersweet endings that have you look at the last words of the story and dissociate on the spot.

I've never written a happy end in my entire life and probably never will.

I'm a depressed bitch, so nothing really shocking there.

What is your reason for writing?

The whimsy answer: My internal dialog is ON h24. Putting it on paper feels good.

The rational answer: I used to have a blog dedicated to literary analysis and meta posting (something I'm actually totally ok to say I'm very good at), but with the death of blogging and the current state of fandom discourse, I stopped writing these things. Instead I shit all my headcanons into my fics.

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

When people are as pretentious with my writing as I am with it in my head. I don't have to align with their understanding of the text, but I like to keep things ambiguous for that reason. I'm totally down for people overanalysing everything, because I do it as well. Keep in mind I'm the kind of weirdo who will spend 15 minutes thinking about what term I must use for "cock" to obtain the best effect.

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

Apparently people perceive me as cold and intimidating which is????

Like. I'm just some gal.

I hope people know that I always finish the stories I start, though. I want to be trustworthy in a sense.

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

I have no fucking idea. I'm a very analytical person, but it doesn't really translate to anything in creative writing... So going by what people have said of me: I'm good with characterization apparently.

How do you feel about your own writing?

When I write in French, it's all over for you (I literally never will).

But more seriously, English is challenging but I'm getting better at it. It's still a long way to go, though. I like to challenge myself to get better.

I just read your x reader post (and the anon response to it) and good Lord you are right. I read your whole rant and I felt it in my bones!!

I've been in this damn app for over 10 years, and written for almost as many fandoms, and I'll say that the x reader tag has NEVER been this bad. It's not just st, it's nearly all of the ones I've seen and it's just gone down hill. It's really so fucking sad.

I was huge in the SVU fandom, and there were So! Many! Writers! We all reblogged eachothers fics and not everything had to be about sex to get notes! We LOVED when reader kissed the character for the first time because we understood that it was the yearning, the 'Oh God finally I'm having you' and not all about just fucking! God now even the most hastly written, shitty smut gets thousands of notes just because it's smut. It's so fucking disheartening. I've written a few things for st (one of which is the piece I'm most proud of, ever) and it got like, 100 notes on here. That's it, but I swear some 'popular' writers get so much traction just because they write smut poorly.

And not to sound like a boomer (cause I'm not a SWEAR) but the tik tok-ification of fandom and fanfic is ruining it! The lack of reading comprehension, the fact that reader has to be as description-less as possible or else "its not realalistic, I'd never do that, etc etc" makes me wanna rip my skin off. Fanfic used to be an outlet for so many people but the way its treated now makes it near unbearable.

yes omg the way x reader fics have shifted over the last 10 years is INSANE— hearing that it’s not just stranger things unfortunately doesn’t make me feel much better lmao

i’ve picked this fight before back when i was in the spidey fandom because of this EXACT reason — where i was like hey…… sometimes things that have more notes….. are worse - because people have this insane thing where they will judge a fic? based on? its notes? and its like buddy how do u think a fic gets ANY notes if you act like that. truly its the worst, writers that are already big just keep getting boosted (even if they just write characters nasty fucking which is! ur prerogative! but it shouldnt be SUCH a factor in being popular/getting your fics read)

i’m not pointing fingers but yes i know a couple blogs that get HYPED because they both A) write smut constantly and B) write fast. and isn’t that just such a kicker if you can’t and don’t want to do those things? like even though it means nothing, there is no correlation between writing slow = bad writing, this site reflects that SO much because they never give that shit the notes it deserves

tiktok-ification god ur so right. it’s the way the mindset has shifted from these being wips, writing, pieces that you develop into instead content. consumable content. there’s such a disconnect between people that read shit tons of fic and the realisation that it’s produced by a person. they just hit the like button and go on anon to ask for an update and it’s like buddy it can’t work that way! the same way u like to read fic, writers want validation and engagement and questions and motivation!!! talk about biting the hand that feeds you 😭
