tiefling twednesday!!!!!
my friend is running the wild beyond the witchlight starting end of january and i'm SO EXCITED!!!!! i've wanted to play witchlight since it came out and i kept getting closer to just giving up and running it myself just so someone would get to play it but now!! i get to play!!
i'd been toying with a few ideas for various classes since the dm said she wanted to run it but the moment it became real i tossed them all out the window and went back to my warlock roots
meet Foxglove! i don't have all their details ironed out yet, but their vague backstory is that they were abandoned as a baby in the forest by their birth parents who didn't want a tiefling. they were found and brought into the feywild by a clan of pixies who raised them. they're fun loving and carefree and mischevious, as befits someone raised by pixies. their warlock patron is Zybilna the fairy godmother.
some fun facts are that they are 6.5 feet tall (with the antlers), they're a vegetarian (really more of a frugivore), they collect little things (lost objects, shiny rocks, etc), and they looked very different as a baby but being in the feywild for so long influenced their appearance as they grew up
#and yes i know who zybilna is#the dm said i could have the fairy godmother who made the carnival as my patron and i said 'oo yes please' and then googled her and Realize#as much as i love warlocks and joke about how many i make i feel like i really haven't played any#i played moxie for a tiny little bit#celeste hasn't gotten to become a warlock yet#so it will be fun to finally play one#also thank you to the gay people in my phone for helping with the name#foxglove was one of my favorites on the list i had and it got a bunch of votes in its favor so foxglove it is lmao#i think. this is my first hooved tiefling as well#i'm not good at drawing hooves so i don't usually but i'll figure them out#hooves just fit the vibe better than feet this time#fel's ttrpgs#dnd: wild beyond the witchlight#oc: foxglove#doodles

if sam is truly in a position where he has to introduce a new character, what kind of build would you wish he would try out? or would you like him to still go with a cleric?
Good question! My answer below comes down to "it depends, but I do lean towards a new but very differently flavored cleric."
I think cleric is still probably the best option. It is rough to be a party without a cleric (having played a non-cleric primary healer myself), and Fearne would have to shift pretty dramatically in playstyle if he did not at least play a strong healer. He could go for a more healing-focused druid, but that's a tall order to jump into at L13, or return to a class he knows well and play a bard. @captainofthetidesbreath suggested cleric/wizard multiclass which would also be a great idea; this party does not lack for high charisma with the witches, but could use a high intelligence character, and it's an incredibly powerful multiclass for a reason (though it would mean no higher-level resurrection spells, since the classic split is a cleric dip for a wizard thus granting them scalable healing and armor).
If I were like, Sam's advisor here (so...Liam), I'd say knowledge cleric. It would give them the perspective of a different god (Erathis? Corellon? Ioun?), it's an excuse to play high intelligence and have very good INT-based skills, it would be a very different take on cleric, but it would still have all the useful core abilities. Twilight Cleric is also RIDICULOUS (positive) and would solve a number of problems and, I mean, FCG stats but shift around Charisma/Int/Con scores a bit to be slightly less tank, much more intelligent, and uncharismatic. Would be an interesting way to bring in Sehanine. And, I should note, either knowledge or twilight could be used to make a Marquesian character which might also help fill in some lore gaps.
To talk through some other healing options: I do love Tary but I believe he was played as a Battlesmith and so that's only half healing. Paladin is an option, actually, if he plays one of the more healing-focused ones (65 lay on hands points? no joke), and I think Sam would make a good paladin in many ways (and paladin auras at L13 would be MASSIVE for the party. My one concern is that because paladins need to have good charisma and strength and a decent CON score, filling the intelligence gap gets tougher unless he rolls very good stats. I wouldn't go for divine soul sorcerer because three sorcerers is ridiculous, but Celestial Warlock wouldn't be bad either. I actually am a big fan of rangers now that the Tasha's and Xanathar's options are far better than the core build, and I really do think hybrid classes are a great fit for Sam, but I'm again a little worried about the stat demands and the quantity of healing. If I were Sam's advisor I would also have a serious talk with Ashley to see how she feels about Fearne taking on more healing to guide my decision.

Beau Cyclone Simpson x Fem!WifeReader
Warnings: pregnancy, terrible fathers, cursing, alcohol, abandonment, navy, death
Author - couldn’t get this concept out of my head! not edited, just needed to write it all out, so i apologize if it’s terrible.
photo from pinterest:
For how stern Beau ‘Cyclone’ Simpson was, his wife was the epitome of sunshine. If Y/N Simpson worked in the Navy, Warlock joked your callsign was ‘Sunshine’. You added the softness to the relationship in public, however you would say that your husband was a romantic. You viewed him as the love of your life, your protector, and the only person either of you loved more than each other would be your newborn son.
Beau planned all your dates, would always randomly bring you flowers, and made sure every day you knew you were the most beautiful woman in his eyes.
You were Beau’s heart, and although some of the Navy guys teased he didn’t actually have one, no one could deny the personality change that seemed to happen when you were around. You were the light of his life, and your newborn son was another beacon that made Beau’s heart brighter.
“Baby, do you want me to hold him?” Beau asked, concerned as he watched you walking up the with your Tommy in your arms. You didn’t look like you were in pain, but since delivering less than two weeks ago, he was still nervous.
“Sweetheart, I love you, but I’m good. He’s good right now” You said, with a soft smile, before looking down at your son who was awake but just sucking on his pacifier for now. Smiling, Beau kept walking besides you, as he rolled the stroller with plenty of “in case” bags.
As first time newborn parents, you didn’t know what was going to happen with leaving your house for more than a few minutes. As a Navy Admiral, Beau usually planned for everything - so he packed multiple bags for multiple scenarios - crying, sleeping, eating, etc. Another reason you two got along so well was because you both were very “type A”.
Today was Admiral Kazansky’s funeral however, and although you had not brought Tommy to the actual funeral, Sarah Kazansky had requested that he appeared at his namesake’s house afterwards.
Tommy - Thomas Jeremy Simpson - was named after Admiral Tom “Iceman” Kazansky, the man who was basically a father to Y/N after her own father had ignored her. In all sense of the word parents, that was Admiral and Mrs. Kazansky to Y/N. They had been the ones at her high school graduation, college graduation, wedding, and this past week, birth of her son.
Only a few people had been at the hospital the day Tommy was born - Sarah and Tom Kazansky, Warlock, and Y/N’s best friend. Ice was incredibly honored to have been his ‘grandson’s’ namesake, tears streamed down his face when Beau had broken the news.
Her actual father…well he cared more about the son of his best friend to ever pay attention to his own. Most people didn’t even know he had a daughter.
You met Beau after a dinner party at Kazansky’s. He’ll never forget when he saw you in that dress, how you radiated beauty with your kind smile. Despite his reputation, he couldn’t help but stare at you, as you talked with many others before making your way over to his group.
“Y/N darling, this is Vice Admiral Beau ‘Cyclone’ Simpson” Ice introduced, and he watched as you smiled warmly at him, before looking at Ice, a smirk appearing on your lips.
“This is the infamous Cyclone? He doesn’t look so bad” You replied, your hand reaching out to shake his. Surprising the group, he took your hand and pressed a kiss to the back of your palm, keeping his eyes locked onto yours. The Kazansky’s looked to each other with confusion on their faces.
“What have you heard about me?” He replied, a raised eyebrow but playfulness in his eyes. You smiled widely, and Ice couldn’t help but feel a smile creep on his face.
“Ice thinks you’re too much of a rule follower” You replied, as Ice sighed, rolling his eyes at your comment.
“Well someone has to be. Can’t keep letting Maverick off the hook every time he pisses off an admiral” Beau says, slight annoyance in his tone about Maverick, but as he watched Tom and Sarah’s head turn swiftly to you, gauging your reaction, he could see he said something wrong.
“I’m going to get some more to drink. Would anyone like more?” You said, a forced smile on your lips. He nodded caught your gaze, following you over to the bar. He could feel Tom’s staring on his back, which he shook off as he looked at you.
“I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable. Do you know Maverick?” Beau asked, curiosity over taking him. You looked back at him, nodding before pouring some more wine in your glass. He poured some more whiskey in his glass.
“I’m assuming you don’t like him very much?” You replied, deciding to not give much away about how you know Maverick. He shrugged, when you met his gaze again. Your expression wasn’t alluding to a positive nor a negative relationship. Did you date him?
“There’s a reason he hasn’t had a promotion more than Captain. He might be friend’s with Ice, but…” Beau said, trailing off on how best to describe him.
“He doesn’t care about rules. Very his way or the highway” You replied, rolling your eyes as you took a big sip of your wine. Beau looked at you curiously, and when you looked back at him you sighed. “Trust me, I’m with you on it. He’s my father, but we haven’t spoken in about ten years” You said, and Beau froze.
“I’m so sorry” He said, but you smiled warmly at him, reaching out your hand to place on his shoulder.
“Please, don’t worry about it. Ice is more of my father than he is. Now, should I call you Beau or Cyclone? Which would you prefer?” You asked, switching topics easily. He smiled, putting his hand over yours.
“You can call me Beau. What do you do for work?” He asked, as he saw you smiled wider.
The whole night the pair of you stayed by each other’s side, causing Sarah to rearrange some of the dinner place cards so you two could sit together. The Kazansky’s, as well as the rest of the guests at the dinner party, watched as you laughed and flirted with the Vice Admiral, and Cyclone smiled for almost the whole night, a rare sight for those involved with the Navy. The other officials were in shock.
“Did you give him drugs?” Warlock asked Ice, as they both stared at Cyclone and you, laughing together.
“No… Sarah?” Ice asked, looking to his wife, as she glanced over to the couple.
“I think he likes her” Sarah said, smiling, as she watched you blush over something Beau said. They watched as he grinned wider, a twinkle in both of their eyes.
“Maverick is going to hate this” Warlock stated.
“Maverick hasn’t spoken to his daughter in 10 years. I don’t think he has any room to comment” Sarah stated conclusively, looking to Ice with a knowing glance. He nodded, looking at you.
“She deserves happiness” Ice said, and everyone nodded in agreement.
“Y/N, Cyclone, it’s so good to see you. Tommy! Oh he’s so adorable” Sarah Kazansky - Y/N’s “mother" said, looking at the couple and child. Y/N smiled softly, not a bright smile considering the circumstances, but Sarah looked genuinely happy to see the child.
“Do you want to hold him, grandma?” You asked, causing the woman to smile wider.
“Oh I would love too” Sarah said, picking up Tommy from your arms and cradling him. Tommy looked up at her with wide eyes, and Sarah looked back at the couple who also seemed enamored with their newborn.
“Where should I put Y/N’s pie?” Beau asked, as he put aside the bags and stroller in the hall closet.
“I made some other meals so you won’t have to cook as well” Y/N said.
“Oh just in the kitchen. Thank you both” Sarah said, warmly, before looking back down at her ‘grandchild’. Beau gave Y/N a forehead kiss, before heading to put the food in the kitchen fridge.
“Y/N! And little Tommy!” Warlock said, bringing you into a hug before turning his attention to Tommy in Sarah’s arms. He was getting a bit fidgety so you held out your arms to take him back, and Sarah passed him into yours.
“I can’t believe you just gave birth. You look beautiful” Sarah said, and you smiled.
“I can’t believe Cyclone let you two out of the house. I was certain he’d make you keep recovering” Warlock teased as you chuckled, rocking Tommy back and forth which seemed to calm him.
“Well it’s a celebration for his namesake after all” You smiled sadly, as you watched Warlock reach out to Tommy, who held onto his hand.
“He’s got a strong grip. If he didn’t have your eyes, I would say he was a mini Cyclone” Warlock said, as everyone chuckled.
“Sarah, my condolences” Pete Mitchell said, walking over to the woman and giving her a hug.
Warlock and you shared a glance, as you tensed. You diverted your gaze down to Tommy.
“Let’s go find your father” You whispered, and Warlock nodded, patting your arm before you left to find Beau. He was talking to two men, who looked a bit younger than yourself, in their naval uniforms.
As you walked over, the blonde caught your eye and smiled at you, before Beau saw the lieutenant’s attention was somewhere else, and followed his gaze. He smiled, which seemed to surprise the men, before reaching his arm out to put around your waist and lead you into his side.
“Hey sweetheart, I was just about to come back to you. This is Lieutenants Jake Seresin and Javy Machado. Lieutenants, this is my wife Y/N and our son Tommy” Beaut introduced, as the men smiled and nodded.
“I’d shake your hand but this boy has my hands full. It’s nice to put faces with names, Hangman and Coyote, right?” You said, and they all chuckled.
“Congratulations! How old is he?” Coyote asked.
“Not even two weeks” You said with a smile.
“Are you in the Navy too?” Jake asked, before another woman and two other lieutenants came to join the group.
“No, but most of my kindergarten students have naval officers for parents because the school is so close, so I like to say I’m ‘Naval affiliated’” You said, and the group chuckled.
“You’re also an admiral’s wife, remember?” Beau teased, and you laughed, as the group chuckled, although it seemed slightly awkward, in surprise that your husband was capable of teasing. You were used to it at this point.
“Lieutenants, this is my wife Y/N and son Tommy. Y/N, this is Lieutenants Natasha Trace, Robert Floyd and Bradley Bradshaw” He said, giving you a look as you tensed, looking at Bradley.
“He’s talked about this group all week, so let me guess - Phoenix, Bob and Rooster. It’s a pleasure to meet you all” You said, your smile a bit more forced than usual as you felt the stare of Bradley on you, although you couldn’t meet his eyes.
“He’s so cute! How old is he?” Natasha asked, cooing over Tommy. You focused on Tommy and Natasha.
“Two weeks” Beau said, with a smile, gazing lovingly to his wife.
“Wow, I can’t believe you’re here. Was it easy?” Natasha asked.
“Stubborn boy gave me twenty two hours of labor” You said.
“If it was up to me, you’d be resting at home” Cyclone said, rubbing your shoulder.
“Yea, well I think I have some veto power since I delivered him, and Tommy was named after Ice” You said, as Beau rolled his eyes but with a smile on his face.
The lieutenants watched both of you interact with curiosity. Cyclone was acting so strangely compared to normal, but seeing the two of you together, it made sense.
“There they are, Warlock, with Cyclone. Is that a smile I see on his face?” Maverick said, and you tensed. The smiles instantly dropping from both of your faces, you looked to Beau. You hadn’t actually looked at him yet, and now that he was so close, you didn’t know how to escape.
“Maverick” Cyclone acknowledged, and the lieutenants were almost confused as to why the energy changed so drastically. You looked up and coincidentally made eye contact with Bradley, who seemed to put the pieces together, before you looked down at Tommy, rocking him to calm your own nerves. You looked at Warlock who looked guilty.
“Cyclone, was that a smile I saw before? I didn’t know you could do that. Is this your wife? I didn’t even know you got married, let alone had a kid. How old is he?” Maverick said, leaning closer, before you stepped away, looking straight at him. Your father.
As soon as you two locked eyes, Maverick’s eyes widened.
“Yes, this is my wife Y/N, and our son Tommy, named after Ice. He’s two weeks old” Beau said, holding onto you. You broke your eye contact with Maverick, looking back at Beau and Tommy.
“Y/N?” Maverick asked, and you sighed.
“Yes?” You asked, annoyed.
“Could we speak, outside?” He said, and looked back up at him. His face was tense, his eyes blazing with hurt and anger. You looked to Beau, and he nodded.
“It was nice to meet you all. We’ll be right back” You said, smiling at the lieutenants, before leading Maverick and Cyclone outside.
Inside, the dagger squad watched as Cyclone, Maverick and you all walked away from the house to have your discussion.
“So, ex-lover? Maverick seems to get around” Hangman said, theorizing with a smirk on his face.
“No, no. That’s Maverick’s daughter” Rooster explained, as the group looked to him and then the group in shock.
“Holy shit” Bob said.
“That doesn’t look like a happy reunion” Phoenix stated.
“That’s because it isn’t” Warlock stated ominously, as they all watched, eager for gossip.
“You got married and didn’t even invite your father?” Maverick yelled as softly as he could, once you three were far enough away from the house outside, his face red with annoyance. You sighed, rocking Tommy in your arms, kissing his face to keep him from crying.
You could only roll your eyes, but saw Beau’s jaw clench, ready to defend you with harsh words. The veins in his neck were throbbing, and you could see this ending badly.
“No, Beau. I got this” You said, in a soft tone, placing a hand on Beau’s chest, staring up at your husband with a smile, watching him look down at you before kissing your forehead.
You stared at him for a moment longer before removing your hand, looking over to Maverick, your gaze shifting from warm to a frosty chill. It felt like the space around you could be an icebox.
“Do you even know what I do for a living?” You asked, your face becoming cold as you watched the emotions all over Maverick’s face.
Everyone watched how calm you were, and shivered at the iciness in the air. If it was a cartoon, Maverick would be having smoke come out of his ears. Warlock had gotten the attention of Sarah, but held her back from going over to you.
“Do you know where I went to college? Do you know where I lived before here?” You asked, raising an eyebrow, at his lack of answers. You could see the flashes of regret in his eyes, as his anger became one of remorse.
“You know, everyone thinks you’re so admirable - keeping track of your best friend’s kid, making sure you’re there for him - at least in the background because Bradley doesn’t speak to you, right? Does he know you keep only his picture in your wallet? Go to his parent’s grave at least three times a year - one for the anniversary of Goose’s death, Goose’s birthday, and Bradley’s birthday, right? Now, can you tell me when my - your daughter’s, your actual child’s - is?” You asked, and you watched Maverick’s Adam’s Apple move, swallowing hard.
The other lieutenants looked at Bradley, who just stared at you, eyes filled with sympathy.
There was a long pause, and everyone was shifting eyes back and forth between you, Maverick and Rooster.
You rolled your eyes, already knowing the answer to your questions before you even began your reply.
“I didn’t think so. You know, I didn’t purposefully keep you away. I told Ice that if you ever asked about me, he could tell you. But only if you asked him” You said, your bite on your words getting harsher, feeling the rise of emotions in you. Biting the inside of your cheek, you looked up to Beau, his eyes raging with anger.
“So to answer your question, there was always a wedding invite for you. Always. It’s in Ice’s desk. If you ever asked him or Sarah about me, he would have given it to you” You said, before turning away, feeling Beau’s hand on your back, and leaving.
“Y/N! I’m your father. You can’t walk away from me!” Maverick shouted, causing you to stop and take a deep breath, before turning around.
“That didn’t stop you from turning your back on me. You aren’t my father, Ice is.” You said, feeling Beau’s arm tighten on you, before walking away with him.
“I love you” Beau stated, stopping the two of you when you finally got far enough away from the crowd of people.
“I love you too” You replied, gazing up at him as he put his hand on your cheek, bringing his lips to yours.

eavesdrop :eyes:
You've made your way to Ghouston again, to check in with Dirk about your hand, to see just how far along he is in rebuilding it. He says he wants to look at the old wiring again-- and it is old.
He works carefully, with surgical precision, eyes focused on the skeleton Kareem built ages ago, sending small volts through the wiring to test your reflexes (they're shit, you've discovered), watching as electricity reacts with the magic that Cyther Kaiser had written into your skin. Frustrating, but fascinating. It wasn't going to be a clean build, but the more Dirk learned, the better his prosthetics would be.
At least, that is how both of you consoled yourself.
"We should get some… I don't know, a warlock? To scrub your arm of spells."
"Oh, Cyther Kaiser would be devastated if he learned his Uncle Dirk was upset at his handiwork." You smirk, and he sends another pulse through your arm, almost in retaliation.
"Yeah, well, I can be 'The Dirk formerly known as Uncle' if he gets pissed. He can get over it and readopt me later, if he feels up to it. Your kids have more uncles than just me, don't they?"
"They used to have many. Rufioh and Theodore and Saturn and Phylus and so many more… But now, it's just you, and Sollux."
"Sollux. Which one?"
You smile warmly, and he looks up at your face for a moment, waiting for an answer. "Ghosty. But you know, with a two instead of an 's'."
"Par for the course for those guys." He smirks, and you follow suit.
"It is rather interesting what holds across timelines, across lifetimes…" A gentle musing, and there is silence from Dirk as he pokes further into your forearm, but you know he's able to be attentive to both his task and you. "He is Sollux, like so many of his alternates, but so very one of a kind. He's kept his quirk, and wrigglerish humour-- at least with me, but he's grown so much since I saw him. He kept a place for our friendship, too. I am grateful he brought that along with him."
"You think he would've left it behind?"
"I think… I wouldn't fault him for it if he had. Considering I left everything behind."
A small pause between the two of you as you press your own lips together tightly, and he delivers another zap to the wires. "Not everything. You brought love with you, there and back."
"I can't imagine a life where I do not love him. He is one of my best friends, one of the oldest, one of the ones I fought to keep close for sweeps. I told him I had his portrait painted early on, so I wouldn't forget his face. I never forgot our jokes, how easy being with him was, how fun it always was… He's different from when I knew him well, though. I suppose, so am I."
"Addie…" The soldering iron is placed down for a moment, and he makes sure orange meets teal, that your eyes are locked together. "That's a good thing. You grew up, apart, and then back together. He wants that, even if you think you shouldn't have that. He's a good friend. And so are you."
You hold his gaze for a little, and you know he can feel your heartbeat, a quickened pace for a moment, then a slower count once he's said his piece. Your good hand reaches for him, squeezing at his wrist, and he smiles softly with you, then rolls his eyes.
"He can be a good friend all he wants, though. I'm the better one, and I'm the best uncle, too."
"Try telling that to him when he fully lifts you above his head to toss you like a ragdoll."
"Oh shit? He can do that?"

Nah, bc I have tingz to say about Halloweentown!
I'll start off saying that I wouldn't really want a re-write or a reboot or something like that, but the way it could have been spread out was a missed opportunity I'll always lament on. What do you mean Gal? I'm glad you asked ghost in my corner! I mean to say that HT really could have been the Cromwell series and not just about my gurl Marnie. But instead ALL of the Cromwell children and their relations with magic and the magic worlds.
(Is she about to go into a tangent? Yes, yes she it)
Let's talk about little Sophie. Movie one demonstrates just how much more powerful she was to Marnie with her being much younger and already using magic without her knowledge. Now the argument could be that its just how all the children were since at that age of course they wouldn't know how to control their magic. However, never once was it mentioned either offhandedly or directly that Marnie or Dylan also experienced such a thing. Perhaps they did, but for argument sake, I'm only using the facts shown in the movies and the fact is, Sophie wanted that cookie and gonna get that cookie 🍪. All that being said, I wish we got more of Sophie and that struggle of obviously being the Family's prodigy but being overlooked by Aggie's favoritism towards Marnie (*I'll be going over this much much later in a different post 👀).
Perhaps we could have seen the fear that she'll never be as good as Marnie despite being stronger and since she's not getting that same level of training, Sophie might fear that her abilities will diminish instead of flourish into the Witch we all know she could be. I think the third movie should have been more about Sophie and that internal struggle of knowing deep down she's naturally stronger, but could never measure up to Aggie's high expectations. I'm not saying I'd like to see Sophie suffer or turn "Evil" but I'd love to see the turmoil that would arise from that internal struggle and how she views her relationships with her grandma and Marnie. Maybe she sees Aggie the way that her mother sees Aggie, maybe Sophie gets Gwen a little deeper. Maybe she understands Dylan in a way that makes Sophie a bridge between him and Marnie.
Speaking of Dylan. My poor boy, Dylan. OK, where to start. Oh, I know! (Bit of a rant incoming) How about the blatant disrespect for his boundaries and preferences? How many times has he stated he doesn't want to identify as a Warlock or that he doesn't feel comfortable with Magic to begin with? Since movie one this man has stated that he didn't like magic and that's more of a science guy. Cool, that's cool right? Nope, not for Marnie and Aggie apparently.
Yes, we all know that Dylans isn't the strongest warlock and that's because he has successfully locked it away within himself, that's his prerogative, he's happier with the "Normies" he's comfortable. Yet time and time again he's pushed into uncomfortable situations for the sake of Marnie's comfort (end of rant). Dylan is a muti-layered character that's actually very complex, however the story seems to continue this one note narrative of him being the "buzzkill" the "party-pooper" the one always complaining about having an amazing gift. But what may be a gift to you can be a curse to someone else. To Marnie, discovering that she's (genetically and historically) special was one of the greatest days of her life while simultaneously, it was crushing to Dylan. That gap of weirdness to normalcy has just widened and now its not as simple as being an outcast (for early 2000s standards lol) but it's inherently linked within. To Dylan, he knows he could never really be normal. Like Sophie, we really needed to see that turmoil played out without it being a joke because after the first and second movies, it's not funny anymore. He's not Marnie, he doesn't see Magic as a deep fundamental part of his being.
Can you imagine the feeling of being told your family name is important enough that it links to the founding of an entire world and that very world expects so much from you, but you don't have the drive to deliver? And why should you, it's just a name, right? You didn't choose to Heir from greatness, why is there so much pressure to do what you don't want to? That's what I think rings through Dylan. Because even in a place of Monsters and ghouls and magic, he's still the outcast. A Cromwell who doesn't have the ambition to become as great as their line before them? It's unheard of, it's strange. So, something must be wrong with them right? I think the fourth movie (we will FOREVER ignore HT4, what HT4?!) Should haven been about Dylan and his full acceptance as he is without the influence of his family. I think it should have been him going to a college of his own choosing (bc why would you make one child attend the same college as the other child just to keep an eye on them – uh, huh!?) we watch him find his footing and meets another witch/warlock who also finds mortal normalcy comforting. I think if he finds people like him who validates his feelings Dylan would be able to come to terms with so many internal struggles that be has such as he quiet resentment towards Marnie and Aggie. I think at even at a young age, Dylan truly understood Gwen and that's why he was always on her side with everything (also bc he's a mama's boy. Let's be real ✨️).
Often times I just that there were several missed opportunities for flesh out these characters and their importance in the world of Halloweentown and how they each interacted with their magical roots and culture.
I want to talk about Gwen as well, but I think that deserves its own post so I'll be doing another long one on her (and Aggie). But I will say you do look at things from her perspective as an adult in comparison as a child. I actually feel sort of sad for her, but I'll get into it soon. I have so many things to say about Halloween town and alot of the old 2000s disney spooky movies we grew up with and how they connect. I did an entire video on TT on how I believe HT and nightmare before Christmas is connected which I'll be placing here but in a more written cohesive format.
That's all I have for now, there's still so much i want to talk about, I'll be back soon 🖤

Thank you for the tags @reliablemitten @btsgotjams27 @kkulfm-2 @the-boy-meets-evil 💕
5 works I'm proud of:
Gonna cheat a bit and put my 12 Lays of Kinkmas fics as one choice - I'm pretty proud that I managed to bang out 28K in less than a month and ended up with 12 different fics
Versus: It's by far my least popular series on tumblr but it's the one that is closest to my heart - my love letter to comic books and supervillain stories 💜
And They Were Roommates!: I branched out more into mxm this year. I really love the dynamic here between Joon and Jimin.
Sorry I Motorboated You: It's sheer nonsense. I'm glad everyone got a kick out of it.
Covert Affairs: Still super proud of this one, how it just flowed out of me so quickly, unfolding like a movie in my mind. Made me realize just how much I love writing action scenes!
4 WIPs I'm excited about:
I have sooooo many WIPs, y'all 😭 I'm not including any ongoing series/sequels here, just brand new ideas/fics I'm excited about:
Down and Out: part of the Room for Rent collab. Boxer!Jimin is going to be angsty af, y'all. Also features a supremely devilish JK.
Untitled YoonJin fic: part of a yet-to-be announced collab. Basic plot is E2L warlock Yoongi vs vampire Jin.
Untitled Stoner!Hobi fic: can't stop won't stop with this agenda
Untitled Yoongi fic: I really don't want to give too much away about this one, but I'm planning a possible new series (haven't decide if it will be a big oneshot or series) that I'm going to start writing after I finish my current series… all I'll say is the idea was sparked by Everything Everywhere All At Once
3 biggest improvements:
I'm terrible at questions like these. I don't think my writing has gotten any better - but I don't think it's gone downhill either? I think it's fine. But I guess if I must:
Focusing less on perfection - I don't spend as much time fretting over what I've written now, I just kinda write it and throw it out there. Either people will like it or not. I'm trying not to spend hours rereading a piece, looking for ways to improve it, but it's a hard habit to break.
Letting myself get sillier if the fic calls for it
Incorporating new genres/kinks into my fics
Top 2 resolutions:
Stop letting note counts get to me (an eternal resolution)
Stop comparing myself to other writers (another eternal one)
Number 1 line written this year:
“Oh, Jesus!”
“No,” Jungkook says, thrusting again, and again, faster and faster, “Jungkook.”
That's a dumb throwaway line from Joyride that makes me laugh so much. Like 75% of my writing is just that - dumb jokes I've written solely to crack myself up. 🤣
I feel like I'm behind on this one, so I'm only going to tag a few writers: @herecomesjoon @sugalaritae @thatlongspringnight @augustbutwinter @bangtanintotheroom sorry if you've already been tagged! No pressure as always 💕

C2OneShot Part 2 - reaction
Small reaction this time, because both combats were great but not much to say aside from that I loved it.
I feel like I don’t have much to say about this whole first section. It’s a long combat, but it’s fun to see the players and PCs messing with high level capabilities and moving back in to the M9 combat feel. I feel bad for Taliesin, jumping straight in to 17th level of a homebrew that you haven’t played in ages and has changed since then? With new weapons and items and multiclassing? NOT EASY. (Travis’s delight at having four eldritch blasts? AMAZING) I’ve enjoyed watching the combat, it’s fun, there’s fun choices being made, nothing else to say.
Actually I lied, I do have a comment. I wish they went less to the map as the main screen and more with the players being the main screen. I know that the fanbase is pretty split on this, with a lot preferring the larger map, but I prefer the corner map and bigger players.
Oddly, I LIKE Kingsley leaping at the chance to take the pact with Zehir? It does feel super in character for a number of reasons. I was wondering if it hit that same point of “keyleth trying to serve the Dawnfather rather than Vex”, but it doesn’t have that same type of awkward interruption. It felt a lot more natural. (and of course there’s the not-so-small part of me that would love for him to be Zerxes’d off of Exandria forever) Travis did a very interesting mix by having Fjord take on the pact but then giving Kingsley the blade. Odd that Matt chose a rapier though, because Fjord literally can’t use it? It’s not a Simple weapon, which is what warlocks have proficiency in. Only Kingsley or Yasha could use it, and both of them had special blades already. With the rapier theme, it 100% feels like Matt designed the weapon for Kingsley, which….I dunno, feels weird thematically? Like, I would have thought that Matt would have focused this temple and such around Fjord with the whole Uk’otoa thing, but to have a weapon designed for Kingsley? I get it in terms of ‘let’s give Taliesin something fun because this is a new PC and he’s out of his familiar zone’, but how does Kingsley narratively tie into the whole Uk’otoa arc? *shrugs* I don’t dislike this, I’m just a bit confused by the intentions behind it. It’s totally possible that I’m reading way too much into this, and the sword is just one that has been already designed and just happens to fit where it does.
Color me SUPER fucking impressed that Matt was able to jump into the Plank King’s voice SO DAMN quickly omg. Absolutely glorious. I’m a bit more thrown by the Adella voice though. I feel like I’d have to rewatch both C1 and when she’s in C2, but the voice feels slightly more Kima-like to me?
UK’OTOA MINI HOLY FUCK LET’S GOOOOOOOOOOOO THIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder how this scale compares with Thordak?
*watches Matt move the head far from the others* Oh yeah, not comparable. Thordak was fucking huge too, but didn’t have the ability to stretch his body. Don’t know how the actual size would compare if, say, Uk’otoa was curled up, but stretched out is definitely bigger.
AND A BUNCH MORE COMBAT lots of fun not much more to say
I wonder how many times they have to force the groan? Sam’s jokes are actually pretty good a lot of the time. I liked all three of them!
THEY HAVE AN UNDERWATER BACKGROUND HOLY SHIT I LOVE IT
Combat has been amazing, btw.
I’m glad that they didn’t make Fjord indebted to Zahir going forwards.
That was such a sweet ending! I didn’t expect them to do little epilogues again, and they pretty much all matched up with the 141 epilogues (with one glaring exception). I do really hope we get more one shots with them, at least one more!

(Agreeing with OP, btw)
This
Okay, so, first of all,
His whole bad boy image is a self proclaimed (and also, in my humble opinion, a very obvious) facade.
This man is very, very feeling. He feels so much and he’s not emotionless ((he’s just low empathy. I’d also argue the logistics on that however I am a huge Donnie kinnie and don’t quite know the exact details on how it really feels to ..have empathy?? The normal amount of it????))
For you neurotypical folk, it’s not the same! It’s actually very very VERY different. Please treat it as such.
Actually, this is a perfect Segue to my second point. So….
….COMING FROM AN AUTISTIC PERSON…!!!
PLEASE, AND I BEG OF THEE—PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF WHATEVER YOU MAY (OR MAY NOT) BELIEVE IN, STOP IT WITH THE EMOTIONLESS, UNFEELING DONATELLO!
You’re wrong! Blatantly wrong! Nobody has been as wrong as you have been in the history of time and space!!!!!!!!
Have we even watched the same show!?? ((I’m a really new rise and TMNT fan by the way. And even so, I can tell in other iterations he is just as feeling and emotional if not more?? Sometimes?? Correct me if I’m wrong.)) But he gets happy when people are interested in his special interests. He gifts his brothers their own special….nick knacks …that he built . He craves validation from a “parent aged figure” and also gets excited and sad and loves his brothers to death and BACK.
And you heathens dare accuse him of being UNEMOTIONAL? EMOTIONLESS???
Do you guys not realize that your observations are sheer humbug????
And, “lightheartedness” aside, there’s so much ableist rhetoric with the whole “Donnie is emotionless” sentimentality that should be really obvious but apparently isn’t (looking at you, archives authors) that I’m just gonna unpack real quick.
So.
Autism.
Donnie is autistic coded.
The notion that the literal GOLDEN CHILD of autistic coded characters is unfeeling and emotionless and cold is wrong on SO many levels. I feel like a lot of fics I’ve seen straight up just don’t depict him correctly—he’s literally, half of the time, this alpha bad boy from character ai.
Truthfully, it’s pathetic. It is what. Practically 2025 now. The years about to end and 2024’s gonna slide past us. And still, STILL!- we’re here generalizing autistic people as emotionless and stoic to such an insane degree that we’re back to regarding us (autistic people) as “inhumane” or , rather. “Alien.”
Do you understand what I’m getting at here? We get such good autistic rep, so realistic, not harmful, not used as a gag or a joke or some other third bother, but as a REAL CHARACTER, as a part of the cast, a person……and so many people then simply throw that aside instead of seeing the nuance there is. Writing ND characters is hard, I know, from a NT’s perspective, but really, really, it isn’t hard to try.
I love Donnie. I LOVE his character, what he stands for, his flaws, the lessons that he learns because I see myself first and foremost within that stupid teenage turtle mutant ninja. You know? But Donnie isn’t “Donnie” if he’s just some cookie cutter sigma male. You know??
I feel like autistic characters in media is such an ebb and flow type of pattern. You either have a shitty character that the fandom wonderfully rewrites or a wonderfully written character thhat just gets oversimplified by the fandom.
Tldr?; please don’t oversimplify Donnie. Don’t make him some emotionless warlock that does as he pleases. Please.
P.S—to each their own. This is subjectively my opinion and should be treated as such.
Goodnight.
I present you my "Donnie, the Emotionless, Absolutely Never Crying Badboy" collection:
and, of course:
Yep, definitively no emotions here!
#donatello#tmnt donatello#tmnt donnie#rottmnt#rottmnt donatello#rottmnt donnie#autism#autistic#autistic donatello#nuerodivergent#I LOVE ROTTMNT DONNIE OH MY GOD ILL DEFEND HIM TO HELL AND BACK#Please someone say that they get the point I was trying to cross#its almost 2am#and i am so tired

Welp, time to do another media log where I forgot to record every media I consumed in the past 2 months
(TL;DR: here are my ratings for all the media)
GotG3: 9/10
Bandersnatch: Black Mirror: 8/10
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent: 9/10
UK Taskmaster: 8/10
Bob’s Burgers: 10/10
The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth: 9/10
The Used - Lies for the Liars: 6/10
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about some fucking media!
Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 is one of 2 movies that I have cried 3 times watching across the whole thing (the other being JoJo Rabbit). Incredible VFX, amazing acting, Rocket becoming one of my new fave Marvel characters (I feel like he is similar to Nikolai from cod zombies where they were first joke characters but then became the best well written characters in their respective areas). My one complaint about this movie is just the fact that Adam Warlock didn’t have as much impact as I would’ve liked to see. Still, great movie! 9/10
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch is a movie that is very meta in its sense of interactive film thriller that had me hooked for 2 hours (when the film said it was like 1.5 hours, fecking liars). 8/10
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent had sort of a slow start I felt, but once it got rolling oh my god it got rolling and I was in the crossfire of the massive boulder of comedy! Felt like it was meta in the way they constantly referenced Nick Cage movies while also making it work and be hilarious, loved Pedro Pascal as Javi so much! 9/10
The difference between American and British game shows is wild and it can be shown clearly here with Taskmaster. Simple premise of Greg Davies getting British comedians to complete tasks for his entertainment. Loved the banter between Greg, Alex, and the contestants! Really good just to watch before bed or just if needing some ear/eye candy. 8/10
I don’t think there’s ever been a TV show more meant for me and the comedy style. Just the combination of the absurdism humor in the world with Bob’s dry, monotone humor meshes really well to create a show that I kept laughing my ass off watching. 10/10!
It’s weird that I’ve played so many Roguelikes (BPM: Bullets Per Minute, Hades, Enter the Gungeon, Crypt of the Necrodancer) and I hadn’t played the Binding of Isaac. This is the quintessential roguelike, music also goes incredibly hard! 9/10
It sucks ending the log on a low note, but it’s also how I felt listening to the album. It might be that Ripper, Pretty Handsome Awkward, and the Bird & the Worm were such good songs that heightened my expectations, but I just didn’t find myself enjoying this album that much. 6/10

woe, numbers be upon you (for the dark urge questions) 1, 3, 4, 11, 13, 16, 21, 25, 30
WOWIE YOU SPOIL ME. THANK YOU
For context in case you or anyone reading this don’t know, Aeryn is an oc i’ve had since looong before bg3, he’s basically a self insert (except he’s isn’t, at all, because we have very little in common) who is my go-to guy to play as in video games. his personality, appearance and all that was all already in my head so. idk some things might not sense because i bend little things here n there to make him more like he is in my head.
ANOTHER thing is that i initially created this guy for the soul purpose of like. tortureporn. just a little meow meow for me to force all of sad horny little edgelord impulses onto with the hope that if i put it all into one character, i wouldn’t do it as much with my others. and then he kinda just evolved from there as i got more invested in him. but he’s still that tortureporn deep down so that’s why there’s So Much going on with him. just thought i’d warn ya.
1) What circumstances led to your durge picking their class/subclass?
Aeryn’s a level 8 “the great old one” warlock/level 4 “gloom stalker” ranger. for warlock, well. the thing you need to know about Aeryn is that he is. very pathetic. i always play him as a glass cannon. he likely wasn’t living up to Murder Daddy’s ambitious expectations for him as being the ultimate killing machine, so he made a deal for an arcane edge. as for gloom stalker urban ranger well. it’s the dark urge.
3) what would your durge consider to be their greatest skill? is this accurate?
seduction, and no. he is off-putting and desperate and only certain people find that charming. i’d say it’s his love. his empathy.
4) what would your durge consider to be their greatest flaw? is this accurate?
just… all of it. the Urge, the rampant sex addiction, (by extension, the need for people to find him physically attractive, that’s so strong it stops him from physically or socially transitioning, which leads him in this weird purgatory, flitting from girlmoding to boymoding depending on he wants to gain sex or respect from a social situation. suffice it to say, no one ever knows what to make of him.) desperate pathetic clingyness and people pleasing borne from a life of profound isolation and rejection, the fact that he’s so so so scared all the time. and, yeah. i’d say that’s pretty spot on.
11) what motivates you durge to either embrace or resist the urge?
fear. love. both ways. he never embraces the urge, never. not deep down, at least. he spends the whole span of the game trying to resist. he’s just… not very good at it. his vibe has always been that “as if it’s my fault my love language is acts of service and all i know how to do is kill” post.
13) how does your durge feel about killing?
horny. jokes* aside, Aeryn is um. more than a little suicidal if i’m being honest. (bear with me) and memory-fucked as he is, that feeling alongside the urge is all he really knows. the belief that life is nothing but one painful disappointment after another is his soul consistent trait. he honestly doesn’t know that life can be more than that. he also doesn’t know that others don’t feel the same. so that’s essentially how he keeps his guilt and shame on a leash. cant be guilty about killing if you see it as an act of mercy.
*it wasn’t a joke at all.
16) what is your durge’s greatest desire?
now this is one i’ve thought about. basically his perfect life would be as the right hand man (executioner or perhaps assassin) and lover (pet) of a great leader who supplies him with many shitheads and sorry bastards to take out his murderous urges on. and have whoever that leader is give him a pat on the head and tell him he’s doing a good job :) and they fuck scary style. (minthara hiiiiii) (yes i am a durgetash exes truther why do you ask)
21) what are two to three songs your durge would relate to?
so glad you asked.
stupid girl by garbage is Thee Signature Aeryn Song to me.
something rotten by placebo
and, as much as i hate to recommend a song by the worlds evilest band, this hurts by msi.
25) how does your durge feel about Sceleritas Fel?
conflicted. he’s like a mascot for his dark urge, and his arrival always means the worst. and yet, he just can’t not fall this silly little freak’s charms.
30) what are your durge’s intentions/goals at the end of the game?
this would be easier to answer if i knew what his canon ending was, but i don’t. i just finished my first ever playthrough earlier today, where he rejects Bhaal and the emperor and becomes a mind flayer and i can safely say that’s not it. (i romanced lae’zel, realised aeryn would be better suited with minthara around the end of act two, and came to the conclusion that this is not his canon run, so i’m just gonna do what feels right and whatever happens, happens) i’ve watched a few videos of the accept bhaal’s gift -> kill the netherbrain -> kill yourself or go crazy and piss yourself ending (which is so unsettling and i really shouldn’t have watched it at 5am) and its REALLY good but. yeah i don’t know.
thanks so much again for asking and letting me talk about my wretched thing. kisses

Kay absolutely jokes about having been (and being) a shitty wizard. Average intelligence (which is considered low for a wizard) & has a hard time remembering spells (especially remembering *which* somatic component goes with *which* verbal & so on, just so many variables). She relied to heavily on her spellbook to really memorize much, only to lose it when she got stuck on the Astral Plane. And then lost her next spellbook when she *left* the Astral Plane.
But also, after getting close to Gale & meeting Lorroakan, she notes how other wizards tend to have a penchant for hubris (Elminster is much more chill but he does see much of himself in Gale), meanwhile she's... kinda not? Like yeah, part of her hoped that *maybe*, with her time spent in the Crystal Spire she might end up as Kelemvor's apprentice or something & eventually become a god of death herself, but that was more of a "wouldn't that be cool if it eventually happened" kind of thing. She doesn't actively seek out godhood, & she's generally pretty humble (and when she does act confident, it's usually because she thinks that's what will make the situation go smoothly; it's not really genuine confidence, but a part to play), hence her not shying away from jokes at her own expense.
Gale makes a comment after a development with Wyll along the lines of "that's why I would never be a warlock", & Kay kinda internally winces. She knows that most wizards look down on other forms of magic, that warlocks are lazy or foolish or both in their eyes. She feels the need to get defensive about warlocks even though her case, her pact, is a somewhat unusual situation. Kay has been lucky enough that the gods & god-likes she's come across (Kelemvor and The Raven Queen) aren't evil like Shar or Mizora, or jealous & possessive like Mystra. She's incredibly lucky that they've actually been helpful (Kelemvor for allowing her to reside in the Cystal Spire for so long, even if part of it was because her father was a devoted cleric of his; RQ for granting her safe passage to the material plane as well as magic at the "cost" of basically getting to play grim reaper) rather than utterly ignoring her (that one Astarion line lives rent free in my head). It's because of that that she believes that not all warlock patrons are sadistic manipulative fiends (literally or figuratively), & warlocks tend to get a bad rap in general, so she's a little defensive.
On a different note, I'm thinking of respeccing her again & going with her getting a couple levels in warlock before decides to multiclass into cleric (for Kelemvor), & then after another level or two she takes up wizardry again (particularly divination, as there doesn't seem to be any resources on chronurgy on the Sword Coast) but goes back & forth between leveling as a warlock & as a wizard. She also considers dabbling as a bard; she's certainly got the charisma for it, but despite her love for theatre, music is not her forté.
When Gale mentions Sorcerous Sundries, she hopes they might have some materials on chronurgy, but of course only ends up disappointed (especially after she & Gale ran around where they shouldn't have trying to find the Annals of Karsus & stumbling across what they needed to unlock the Necromancy of Thay, & yet NOTHING on chronurgy; sometimes she really does miss the home she made of the crystal spire). After killing Lorroakan, she wonders who will take over the Sundries... and if maybe, *if* all goes well in taking down the Chosen and the Elder Brain, she could possibly step into the position. Surely if so asinine a man as Lorroakan could run the place, then she could?
#[i hear from the witches]#Kay.bg3#for the record it *does* feel weird talking about a character who is me but also isn't but as if they're just another OC

There's other things happening but those are big highlights have a big war going on with the clones
Right now the clone facilities are almost gone and it's on to the next type of Base and they're really ancillary and they're after ships and they're trying to stop the cloning inside and it's inside ships that are not ready mostly which changes what they're doing and give us an opportunity and excuse so huge armies are for me up massive armies of warlock
They're going to go in momentarily. We did find out that our son and daughter were smuggling beard and whiskey too Australia tons of it we had to prove the project and we did approve it in the past and they've been sending huge ship loads and it's in kegs and beer cans and just a ton of it tons of it is in 2 l bottles and it comes in warm and it's just a massive number of beers it's enough beer for the United States for a week it went out for the past 2 months recently increased and took all the plastic bottles and we're starting to make that whiskey and we're bringing it there and it is spreading and we are using their likeness and not paying them a dime not a dime unless they want to be a sales rep and that's what you made money before us and you could be regional managers at this time we didn't offered before but he is and it's not bad thinking so you have several people who want to including the Russian Adolf likes it he likes it and she does too he looks strange enough to sell just about anything I still wants to buy a Russian tank and he says how many this is three thousand and three zeros he says it's going to work on it it's real too so we'll bring the vodka down and try to make a deal I might be with his cousins so he likes that and he's responding so it's going to work and we know what he said he's into it and they are kind of Warhammer starcraft tanks and that's what we're looking for his face haha no we always says that look at his face but he's starting to feel a little better... And we're going to go to town this idea is great so we're going to use this alcohol to sell it yes
, we have a few more things going on we have a bunch of people who are tuckered out here and don't want to do anything you keep asking they keep saying no and we're wasting time asking them we asked a bunch of people a bunch of times to do the lawn mower thing and every one of them is like no so our son said why don't we just get a factory together and look like the guys and start doing it so we're out there doing it and Tommy Allen says who's doing that and it says why since we're selling them to you. And he noticed it and it said okay so he wants to send people into work I said you got to be kidding me can I pay them in beer he says no okay we'll have to pay them decent money and again and give out gift cards and stuff. People that actually work 4 hours when they said they're going to so he's trying to be kidding me since it incentive program so any of these cars and a lot of restaurants we have interest in and it's like Panera bread and the outback and Chipotle's and Sparrow Subway D'Angelo's actually a whole bunch of places Burger King so we're doing that you might hang up McDonald's even though we don't have interest and a lot of people love that one one day we handed out 50 just because they showed up and we started hiring his people he's wondering who the hell it was since it's Brian sent his people and they said we're already your people and he heard I sent you and it's the CIA. So he smiles because he's making a joke there he goes no it's not we're both out of there it's those are pretty much not allowed there but we are there that's what he says so we've got this facility going and it's a good idea and we're going to do it elsewhere.
Thor Freya he had this like took took thing going and now it's going to be the palomino and you have to have in a dumbass make the trailers is next to our frowning he gets the ones that don't work and didn't really tell the guys what he's using them for they figured it out Wilson one day one Summer wondering around saying we're giving him crap the ring around town giving him crap and he's going they don't work and they're going that's right it all sudden it was you don't work so they're like trying to get some working ones over there and they delivered a delivery to it and they're working it says what are these doing here since we don't want you bothering you so give me someone at work cuz I need the ones over there and I'll buy them it's kind of the same factory so we tried to buy them and it wouldn't let him buy them and sent over what he needed and he started going people are d****** with me then the guys next door went over there and said what exactly are you doing you're buying these things and we see you zooming around with these carts on the back and nobody in them. So they heard you what we have here is a retarded Mexican standoff and they all said the laughing instead of building these carts from the lawn mowers that don't work and they said you got to be s******* me they fooled all of us he goes don't you mean me he says no so that's what it's like and you're right next door to each other. They started communicating and thought it was a hoot and yeah this is actually going on it's working we're going there and start it and then they show up and we hire them they ask what it is and we hire them yes bja and he sees what's going on and it's going to work and we're going to put the beer places in and he said to start with their beer places and just to put in bigger ones and we're going to do that having tons of beer and whiskey went to the island's tons huge huge numbers of ships and we're doing those two things there
, truth as they made a whole bunch of companies that are making them and we are making them too but I wasn't coming out much better and they'll see what it is and copying it and they think they're stealing from us and they sort of are and this would have to be watched so we're watching but there's a lot of these being made I mean there's tons they saw those Jeeps and flipped out they said those are our size I'll look our look and they heard oh yeah they're red and they said screw you so that'll work in your areas lol then start getting mad I said who's this this is a Mac. His smile and said that we're going to make more now so they're pumping out these jeeps and they're pretty cool and they're not using the company that was making them know they called him up and said we need to size and stuff and there's a way to extend the wheels out and they figured out stuff from what they saw no they got our design somehow nope second copy it with an open one and we're going to cut the palomino and here we might have one and they're filtering in and the design is going out and they're better looking than they pulling the road better it's just safer they're going to make tons of these. Now we found the design it's not a Australia and they're making them there and they're making them calling them palomino and they look kind of like African Jeeps and that's an Australian thing and they're making probably 5 million a day and people going to see this and they're going to start to sign up
Thor Freya
This is used to fight the clones and hopefully they'll stop fighting us
MacDonald
Yeah we see this they don't like us either there's a lot of them we don't like what he's doing he can care less and he says we can jam our retard clean up her ass and it's not exactly who or what he is but he fits in at the circus but the circus is much bigger than they we think I was trying to wonder what we're taking on and we're taking on everyone probably just keep doing it he says and he needs the stuff anyways it's kind of a vulgar attitude but he's going in and putting bases all over the world and we don't care so we just have to sit here and see where the best we should leave them alone and get him something to do other than screw us you're an idiots
Ben Arnold

⤷ female, ambiguous race, and any size reader. Requests are open, thank you for reading!
a/n: Frost Giant Loki doesn’t get enough attention and HE DESERVES MORE.
ᴹᵃˢᵗᵉʳˡᶤˢᵗ
𝑺𝑭𝑾🌿
・Jotun Loki has had a much better upbringing than the Loki raised by Odin.
・He has so much more vigor for life, and is much nicer to the general public. He wouldn’t dream of having to prove himself, or by taking over any cities or realms.
・Frost Giant Loki is actually one of the sweetest beings alive, you just have to get past the lingering arrogance of a prince.
・Likes to show you off; “Hey Thor, have you met y/n?” “Yes Loki, we have had the pleasure of meeting.” “How amazing is she? I mean -”
・He makes sure that you’re always safe, because you are very very small compared to him
・Always making sure you’re having a good time, no matter where you are “We can leave if you no longer desire to be here, my love.”
・Fun-loving and always wants you to have a smile on your face
・You met at a wedding you were working at. Thor and Jane (in this universe) were getting married and you were employed to serve the food and drinks.
・It was verging on ridiculous, how much food had been prepared. Even though Loki and only a few of his close companions were the only frost giants at this event, they had overcompensated for their food and drinks.
・Your first encounter with him was surprising; he was flirtatious but mindful. Knowing that humans were much more fragile than he.
・However, he was a prince, and you were expected to treat him as such. But there was something so enticing about him that you wanted to be in his presence more and more.
・The venue where the wedding was held, also fronted as a restaurant. And whenever Loki visited Thor, that’s where he insisted on going. “Loki, why is it always this place? There are many other food vendors we can try!” “I ... really like the pasta...”
・Jane caught on, Thor was oblivious. “Ask. her. out.” Jane had prompted. Loki’s cheeks darkened; a prince embarrassed.
・He did not want to scare you away, but Jane insisted he needed to be the one to talk to you.
・And he did, somehow getting your number but not being 100% what to do with it. Since the technology wasn’t the same in his world. And yet, that was the great thing about having a scientist friend. Jane made a way for you to communicate from your differing realms.
・You were stunned; caught off guard that you would even be considered. Since you came from two COMPLETELY different worlds. But it worked. Somehow, weirdly enough it worked.
・You usually sleep on him. It’s like having the cold side of the pillow always. And it actually helps with headaches
・Likes it when you stroke his face
・He makes a lot of inappropriate jokes
・Likes to take you to his realm, his home. He also likes showing you the other realms; making you feel so amazed at this life.
・Teaches you about his culture and how he grew up “Yes, and they actually throw you over the cliff to see-”
“Loki! No! Did they really?”
“No, but I do like seeing that look on your face darling.”
𝑵𝑺𝑭𝑾🔞
・You guys get creative ... you have to, I mean Jotun Loki is huge and it is physically impossible for him to be inside you.
・BUT, I do think that Jotun Loki would approach a witch or wizard/warlock, maybe even Doctor Strange, to make him a potion that allows him to shrink to human size. He still has his physical attributes of blue skin, red eyes etc. But the potion allows him to shrink as much as he can (which is to 6′9, compared to his usual 10′)
・The potion worked for only a limited time...but that didn’t matter. Even though vaginal sex was great, you and Loki came up with ideas to keep both of you satisfied.
・There’s a lot of rubbing, humping, and toys involved.
・Frost giant Loki likes to make you laugh during sex - you’ll be in the heat of the moment and he’ll lick inside your ear.
・Oh he does like licking though, just licking everywhere ...
・Everything feels amplified because not only is a giant, but his temperature is also cooler. It makes your nipples so hard, and he loves playing with them. Sometimes it feels torturous, how hard and sensitive your nipples get.
・Loves dirty talk; he’s very good at it. Sometimes he can get you to cum just by talking
・He’s a louder moaner, and it’s so awkward when he’s at your place. Your neighbours give you weird looks - well even weirder looks as your boyfriend is blue

Dracula DnD AU
So I actually did sit and come up with DnD classes for Lucy & her polycule however bear in mind that a) I'm a first time Dracula reader so for all I know maybe some characterisation/information changes later idk, and b) the most I know about DnD comes from tiktok skit compilations on youtube & occasionally listening to dnd podcasts so EXTENSIVE creative liberties up ahead:
Lucy Westenra
She's a race of human shaped cat creatures, since I love cats and I love Lucy I combined my two favorite things and she looks like this:
(Idk if it can be seen but she's somewhat chubby and it's not plot relevant but I want you to know it's there)
As in canon her family's part of the gentry, though not the nobility, and she was very sheltered growing up. What's different is that for her community polygamy is favored and seen in a good light - cats are communal raisers and also Lucy wanted polygamy so she gets polygamy.
Lucy is a warlock and what happened was this: her deity takes the form of a scrungly little goblin creature, and more than anything what it really wants is to be loved. One day teenage Lucy found them crying in the bushes and was like "Who are you?? Are you okay??? 🥺" and the deity was so surprised she wasn't repulsed by them that they instantly befriended her and got an idea. In exchange for them giving Lucy protection and powers, Lucy will gather the affections of people and it'll get siphoned to them.
It works something like how it does in the anime Sugar Sugar Rune, where whoever it is that takes a shine to Lucy has their momentary feelings absorbed into a small jewelry on her person, and this doesn't hurt them, alter their personalities, or make their memories/feelings vanish.
The deity receives the affection that Lucy gets and in exchange Lucy has strong persuasion, luck, and invisible protections that aid and guide her to safety, plus she also receives little gifts from her deity like trinkets and useful & pretty little items. To other people Lucy appears as someone with a melodious voice, a sweet and gentle smile, having an aroma of honeysuckle and lavender, and accompanied by the sound of bells from charm bracelets on her wrists and bells on her ankles.
The relationship between her and her deity is like the flip side of the sugar daddy/sugar baby dynamic I've seen described for this class. Every time they meet Lucy goes "Who's a good puppy?? You are!!!! :D" and gives them pets and they become a happy, adoring puddle at her feet, it's very silly and cute.
Arthur Holmwood
The thing about Arthur is that he's surrounded by so much death, so as an exchange or comfort or running with the theme of it I made him a Witch Lord. That is, his family has magic running through them, most likely through an otherworldly ancestry, and because he's a Lord this means he has responsibilities that someone of the nobility would - responsibility towards the protection and safekeeping of a peoples, territory, and dominion.
His family's responsibility is towards aiding lost souls and guarding the boundaries between death and life. And because this is Arthur "Get Shit Done" Holmswood this man has connections. He has wealth, power, influence, and an extensive network of resources and contacts. He can call upon those souls that linger and so long as he does his duties and pays respects then they will give him information and guidance.
Lucy's race being cat adjacent, they are more than capable of seeing and interacting with the dead and hold a lot of respect for witches. So by her people's standards, Arthur is A Catch. As far as appearances go, he looks mostly human though there's something just a little otherworldly about his features but it's hard to put a finger on what. Some of the more obvious ones are that he has night vision and glows faintly in the dark.
Quincy P. Morris
Quincy multiclasses in Ranger and Barbarian I feel like there's a joke in that one. He's traveled to many places and been on many incredible adventures, and has collected allies and knowledge alike. Analytical, perceptive, a man of action but also very noble and kind, Quincy is a fighter and a thinker possessing skills, stats, and charisma across the board. Were it not for him having little to no magical ability he would've been very much OP but I'm trying to curb my obvious favoritism here
John (Jack) Seward
He's a half-dragonborn wizard, and despite having dragon features he's still as much of a soggy wet paper bag man as canon. Being draconic gives him strength that can match up to Quincy if he wanted, though he prefers to rely more on his studies. He tries his best to keep up a somewhat tidy appearance but is usually impeded by frequently molting scales, askew glasses, and a generally sleep deprived and frumpy disposition.
Mina Harker
Mina is a dark elf and also a witch. Unlike Arthur's lordly upbringing, witchcraft was something she took pains to learn, what with her being an orphan and all. She teaches magic to students and is as much a lover of the dark and creepy crawlies and things that go bump in the night as any elf born amongst them.
In appearance, Mina is a tall and politely intimidating but otherwise neatly put together elf woman. She feels most at home in dark forests and chats with the supernatural on the regular. Her being a witch also means her and Lucy were encouraged to be besties from the get go.
Jonathan Harker
A regular ol' human and perhaps even a solicitor here too. Just like in canon he shows a deep well of strength of character in this au, and being a human of not much special abilities doesn't stop him from being courageous, determined, loyal, and deeply kind. He's the Connecticut Clark to his big, scary, amazing Goth wife and he's got a warm, sunshiney nature that's so in line with Lucy's that the rest of the polycule loves him just as much. He's always ready to help and protect and fight for those he loves.
And if you want an angstier angle, he can have some qualities of the supernatural lurking underneath the surface - a pallor to his skin, slightly elongated teeth, a taste for meats, being drawn to darker magics, etc - after a terrifying run in within the forests.
As for Van Helsing of the alphabet soup degrees, I feel like similar to canon he'd be a mysterious figure of sorts, but giving off the air of a sorcerer or monk. He's a scholar, a potioneer, an artificer, and many, many more that most don't come to know. He plays the role of the polycule's favorite uncle who occasionally drops by to send them all careening off on an adventure.

Ineffable Con 2020 Fun Facts
Fun facts from the Ineffable Con 2 (2020) guest panels :):
Neil Gaiman, Douglas Mackinnon and Rob Wilkins
David G. Arnold (the music composer)
Claire Anderson (the costume designer)
Peter Anderson (Peter Anderson Studio created the opening title animation and in-show graphics)
Paul Adeyefa (Disposable Demon)
Jeremy Marshall-Roberts (the owner of Mary the Bentley)
1. Neil Gaiman, Douglas Mackinnon and Rob Wilkins
What do they have from Good Omens:
Rob has the statue from St. Beryls, all four motorbikes from the four horsemen, Crowley’s Devon watch, box signed by David Tennant with Crowley’s sunglasses and Aziraphale’s cocoa mug with Michael Sheen’s DNA :).
Douglas has the playing cards from Episode 1 and heavily annotated Good Omens book they used for filming with inscription by Neil: ‘For Douglas, make us love, make us cry, 3rd August 2017’.
Neil has Aziraphale’s chair from the bookshop that he bought from the BBC and he uses it for Zoom meetings.
What is their favourite thing that was not in the book and was added to the TV show:
Neil: all of the first half of Episode 3 - an absolute joy.
Rob: also the beginning of Episode 3.
Douglas: David Arnold’s music and Peter Anderson’s front titles.
Could Aziraphale get out of the Bastille easily if he wanted to?
Neil: if he could: absolutely. Did he have any conception of the mess he was in: probably not. It’s one of Neil’s favourite pieces of acting - the absolute delight on Aziraphale’s face when he realizes that Crowley’s there and then he turns around and rather petulantly, grumpily goes oh it’s you - that moment of joy on Aziraphale’s face when he realizes that he’s been rescued is one of Neil’s favourite things.
Neil and yoghurt starter: I had this slightly mad thing where I would explain to everybody that fans were yoghurt starter. And I said, ‘Basically you start out with yoghurt starter and you put it into your warm milk and you leave it, and the yoghurt starter goes off and turns the entire thing into yoghurt.
Neil realized that there was a cat in his house (Neil doesn’t have a cat :)). After the panel Neil said that he was going to look for the cat with a can of sardines and Douglas joked that he would find Michael Sheen in a cat costume.
What was the best and worst about making the series:
Douglas: the best - the camaraderie, getting to know the people, the cast and crew.
Rob: the best - realizing that the book could be translated to the screen and watching it happen. The worst - coming to the end of the shoot and saying goodbye to everybody.
Neil: the best - the amount of love from everybody, the worst - fighting budget battles (producers wanted gone all of the cold opening and the death of Agnes Nutter).
Did they expect that Good Omens would attract so many LBGTQ+ people and how they feel about that:
Neil: Yes, absolutely. There are definitely people out there who seem to think that I accidentally wrote a love story with all of the beats of a love story including a break-up halfway through, without somehow noticing that I’d written a love story. And I may not be the brightest candle on the candelabra, but as an author who’s been doing it for a long time, I’m very well aware of when I’m writing a love story, thank you very much. And so from my perspective I knew that the love story would be one of the driving things that would get us from the beginning to the end. And I also made a bunch of decisions about our angels and our demons in terms of casting, in terms of gender that everybody backed me up on, which I loved. You know, the idea that the archangel Michael is played by Doon [Mackichan] is something that is... or Beelzebub is Anna Maxwell Martin, whatever, there’s... it’s not like we are going: these are women, there are men, we are going: these are demons, these are angels. They... this is not a thing. And also doing something like Pollution, where you go in and go: okay well if we were doing this in... if 1989 was now, if there were they pronouns, we probably would have done that. We didn’t think of it at the time but that’s no reason why we can’t do it now. And we did and I remember having a... not exactly a battle, but a... my very tiny skirmish with one of our execs who was very nice and very bright and was like: ‘Why are you saying they?’, and I’m like... and I... explaining, and he’s like: ‘Well I’ve never heard of that before.’, and I’m like: ‘Oh, okay, but trust me, just trust me, it’s all fine, just trust me.’
Douglas: And you know I have to say, just following on what Neil’s saying, I’ve been directing for quite a while, and I tend to notice if characters are falling in love, I tend to notice a love story happening in front of me, and I think it’s there, and everything is meant, guys, everything is meant.
Neil added: I would just say, there are some things that you do while you’re writing a script intentionally. The fact that... I wanted to do this, well, it was a thing I did that I really enjoyed doing... where whenever people accuse them of being a couple: they don’t deny it, they don’t argue, there’s no flustering on their part. They absolutely… you know, everybody… what I’m trying to say is: yes, other people in the story are perceiving them as a couple too. And here is Uriel perceiving them as a couple, here is wonderful Dan [Starkey, playing the passerby] …and you know, you do scenes like that because that’s... you are trying to make a point here and you’re trying to make a point on how people are perceived.
Season 2, yes or no [fiends, all three of them!]:
Douglas: What’s that?
Neil: Of what?
Rob: Is it muted for me as is for everyone else?
Neil confirmed that they are going to be Funko Pops. [yay!]
2. David G. Arnold (the music composer)
He didn’t read the book before he was approached to do the music. He was asked to do it by Douglas Mackinnon he knew from the Victorian episode of Sherlock and he said yes before even knowing what it was about because he wanted to work with Douglas again.
The first piece of music he wrote for the show was the brass band doing the Lazing on a Sunday Afternoon [Episode 6, in the park before the kidnapping].
The second piece of music he wrote was the lullaby that Crowley sings to Warlock. He always liked the lullabies like in Mary Poppins so he said to Neil: Why don’t we do it like Walt Disney, but if Walt Disney was possessed by Satan? That was about 7 months before he needed to write anything again while they were shooting and it kept going round his head the whole time - the melody stuck with him and when it came to the Opening Title of the show, this became the middle bit.
The original opening title was Everyday by Buddy Holly and each episode was supposed to be closed with a different version of it: a death metal version, an angelic choir version, a carmina burana version... and he actually made all those. But he likes to find the musical identity of the show and put it in the opening titles because it’s important and it tells you: ‘This is the word you’re going to experience’, so he wrote his own opening title with the lullaby in the middle and played it to them [probably Neil and Douglas] with Buddy Holly as the backup and: Neil just turned around in his chair and said, ‘That’s Good Omens.’. From that point the instructions were with no rules, just to create whatever he wanted: the further you can go the better, the weirder and the stranger you can think the better. It’s a rare thing to be shown a world like Good Omens and be let free to run around in it.
His favourite ending title is the Queen one in Episode 1.
One of the reasons he didn’t do a theme for Crowley and a theme for Aziraphale is that the theme of the show is theirs - it’s theirs and they share it and it’s both of theirs and there is no separating in that regard.
About Aziraphale and Crowley’s relationship reflected in the music score: It’s interesting isn’t it, because the relationship changed in a way slightly frequently and majorly infrequently. It seemed right from the start that their relationship was somehow seeded and planted and had begun by the time we saw them even though they may not have realised it themselves, you know, with the pair of them on the wall, considering one is a demon in the Garden of Eden and one is an angel. They act very charitably towards each other and they act with a lot of things you might not expect. And underneath that there is a sort of sense of togetherness and support even though they both know that their paths are going to diverge and they have different responsibilities. So I always felt like, right from that moment, when the wing came up on the wall, that there was something special about their relationship. Three moments that stuck with him: in Episode 3 saving the books in the church when they completely rely on the other for survival in the way that they were very open about, one in the car outside the nightclub in 60s Soho - the Holy Water, you go too fast for me, that genuinely tearing, that there was reluctance in those words that he spoke and that sort of things as a composer is gold, it’s about making those moments more, and in the last episode in a scene they’re not event in when we see Adam and Dog in the fields and Anathema that music there which celebrates Crowley and Aziraphale’s music which is the theme of the show - their shadow has passed over everyone’s emotional journey, and everyone’s emotional journey is theirs as well. The argument in the bandstand was important as well.
His favourite leitmotif from the series is the lullaby.
About the scene in the car in episode 2 when Thomas Tallis changes into Queen: Terry’s favourite piece of classical music was the Thomas Tallis piece [Spem in Alium] so Neil asked if they can go from Thomas Tallis - a choral piece from 16th century - to We Will Rock You, and: ‘You never say no. You don’t say that you can’t do it. What you have to do is to be the first person who solves the problem.’ In the end it was a two-days work just for this little bit and he mentioned that he never had these sorts of challenges anywhere else before.
His favourite non-musical detail in the show - the crucifixion, how the scene was shot, how it was upsetting, and how it was made more effective by Aziraphale and Crowley’s inability to stop it, that they had to observe and watch it, that it had to happen. I remember seeing that at the time and thinking, I wasn’t expecting that level of brutal honesty, in terms of the pictures that I was looking at and what they chose to show. And I think all the more effective for it.
3. Claire Anderson (the costume designer)
When creating the costumes for the characters she started with mood boards.
Aziraphale - she knew that he needed to have something winglike in his collar so that’s why there are sweeping lapels very often. Using velvet [for the waistcoat] because that was nice and soft and had all the appropriate qualities. His watch and fob that has little gold wings hanging from it and other tiny bits of symbolism. Tartan bow tie. Beautiful cashmere checkered trousers - not quite tartan but a nod to it. A mid to late Victorian coat, Michael only made his decision on the coat a couple of days before the filming. Aziraphale in the present settled on a ring with angelic symbol and harp cufflinks, earlier his ring in ancient times has got a much more roughly hewn set of wings on it, so before jewellery making became sophisticated he modernised slightly - he magicked it up to be a bit more modern, more gentleman signet type of ring, but he never modernises entirely. His heart is much more in the past.
After they began to define Aziraphale they started to look at how the Heaven army of angels might look - the element of tartan came sort of from Aziraphale and the angels have a not-tartan kilt with a semi military type jacket and a military band across that might hold arms or not, because they are not really violent. She used spats to make them look quite neutral and genderless so hiding fastenings and concealing little details like that seemed a way to do that.
Gabriel doesn’t wear spats because he’s on Earth such a lot. His shoe has a cover with two buckles on the side giving the same neutral element. He wears a cashmere light-as-air suit.
The other angels are all in bastardized versions of what era they may have died in, so they could have died in the 1930s or the 1800s and the costume would have an element of that era about it - though of course as an angel you can change things.
The Quartermaster Angel - the costume is a combination of slightly Indian type military, maharaja pants, longer spats from another era, all combined pieces of military tailored to be magical and slightly nonsensical, as Heaven might be.
Crowley - she felt that he wrapped around like a snake sheds its skin so she wanted something double breasted because that seemed to envelope his snakey charm. David wanted to be more casual than wearing a suit. Under his collar he always has a flash of red like the snake that he comes from - the red belly. They put a red seam into the sole of his boots so always there is a hint of where he came from. The red tie in the blitz. He was more rock and roll than Aziraphale and modernised more to a snakehipped rock and roll star really. His present jacket - the fabric there is quilted, they found an 80s jacket that had elements of things they enjoyed - part of that was that it had a slightly quilted quality to the fabric which was like a textured snakeskin. It took quite a long time to create the fabric and then to make the jacket from that - they quilted some fabric and washed and whooshed it repeatedly to create a bit of puckering in it. He has a snakey scarf around his neck like a chain mail linked scales of skin scarf that he wore that complemented his neck chain. The trousers he wore in Victorian times are the same he wore in the 60s when he meets young Shadwell. His present trousers - slightly waxy denim - we just were looking for a slithery finish. Crowley’s neck chain - there is only one in the world - her tailor has a Gothic church full of interesting stuff like busts and drapes with old things, this chain mail scarf was there and David was looking for something to complete his costume and liked it.
Hastur and Ligur are her favourite characters - they were so enjoyable to create. She had an amazing book of 1920s and 30s criminals and they used that as a starting point, because they were all quite worn out and bedraggled and poverty stricken and like hell might be ideally. They burnt and decayed the bottom of them as if they were rotting from the Earth and rotting back into the ground - all demons have sort of gators as if they were rotting from the ground up.
One of the most difficult things was the demons - when they realized they had a few days to create hundreds of demons in South Africa (4-5 days for almost 200 demons). It was as if I had been dissolved in holy water when they asked me for another 150 costumes.
The sleeves of Anathema’s coat have been inspired by a Victorian cycling coat.
The historical costume that Newt’s ancestor wore influenced his and Shadwell’s costumes - they used elements of the historical costume to put a little cape on Newt and Shadwell and their wax coats to give them the quality of that look. Newt's costume has a lot of mustard to make him feel a bit awkward and uncomfortable - it's not the most flattering colour on a northern European complexion.
The nuns’ headdress needed to look a little bit demonic - she bought a whole book on nuns’ headdresses for research. They also used the V in the nurse's apron because that was nicely demonic. The nurses' watch has got this Satanic symbol at the top - a little take on the medical since old nurses’ uniforms used to have watches.
For Madame Tracy she went back into the 70s, slightly Biba-esque makeup and a cape. They had only one pair of her goggles so it was always a nightmare to find them.
Which part of the cold opening is her favourite: I love ancient Rome because there is at least 6 to 12 metre of fabric in a toga and that was quite fun wrapping that around the boys and creating those., and her favourite was the Globe.
The lapels represent wings in every way and every shape and every form. Wings are very important.
4. Peter Anderson (Peter Anderson Studio created the opening title animation and in-show graphics)
The first thing that the director Douglas Mackinnon (with whom he worked on Doctor Who and Sherlock) said to him was: for all the graphics, for all the title sequence, for everything, I want you to promise me one thing, and that is very, very simple, promise that you send me emails that say: ‘this might be absolutely nuts, but my idea is...’.
The opening title it’s full of easter eggs - it’s a type of sequence that’s been designed to watch a thousand times, for example: on the escalator down to Hell there is one character running up deciding that he doesn’t want to go to Hell or the sea is full of plastic bags because we don’t look after the planet.
Every single face in the title sequence is either Crowley’s or Azriphale’s, they are repeated all the way through - inspired by Neil saying that there’s good and evil in all of us, so there is a grand procession of people of all the characters from the story - marching towards Armageddon - but all the characters have been taken over by good or evil. And along the way our two heroes are kind of playing tricks on each other, doing good, doing evil
The opening title combines multiple elements - two dimensional animation elements, three dimensional animation elements, CGI and live action (the people in the procession were created by live action on a travelator). So the result is a kind of strangeness - such as 3D figures with 2D animated tracked heads - which makes it unique.
Their first idea and version of the opening title was based on tapestries of old, subverting them, but then they wanted something more new and fresh.
Both Douglas and Neil were an important part of the opening title creation process.
The opening title sequence took about a year to make from the creative start with four intensive months towards the end.
One of things that inspired him was a Bauhaus theatre image from 1930s.
Question if the hand-drawn font for the graphics will be a purchasable font: no, because it was original and it’s unique and it was created just for this - it was for the love of the show and the story and it will be kept there.
In the scene where there are three photos of witchfinders - Neil and Douglas revealed in the DVD commentaries that two of them are their grandfathers - the third one is Peter’s great uncle.
Originally the signs telling us things like ‘Thursday’ or ‘Mesopotamia’ - were done as if somebody (who was living inside the television screen) ran up close to the screen and showed us the sign. In the end they simplified it, only showing the signs. The one time that it was sort of left in the show was when in Episode 5 a little demon in the video game shows a sign ‘GAME OVER’.
Outside of his work on it, what was his favourite thing on Good Omens: spending time with Douglas and Neil, and also working with Milk VFX - I think I can honestly say it's the best job I've ever worked on with the nicest people.
5. Paul Adeyefa (Disposable Demon)
He first read the book when preparing for the audition - the character wasn’t in the book but he got into it, loved it and couldn’t put it down.
He didn’t know about the name Eric until the script was published and people started calling the demon that, he really likes the name and thinks it fits.
There was a version of the script where the demon was going to be dressed in different costumes each time he was discorporated (for example one in long hair wearing a dress) - they would be all the same but different incarnations, in one version they had different accents.
The first scene he shot was the one where the demon goes to Heaven to deliver the Hellfire (and also wants to hit ‘Aziraphale’ which was cut). That first day was also his favourite moment of shooting because there was an immediate welcoming atmosphere and everyone was lovely and in love with the production.
Disposable Demon is like a permanent intern, running errands for the higher ups in Hell.
His favourite part of the costume were the eyelashes (though he loved the whole costume).
If he could change anything about the costume he would also want cool contact lenses - some brightly coloured ones.
Question what animal (like other demons have on their heads) comes to mind when we see the Disposable Demon: he didn’t think about it at the time, but later he saw people talking about his horns as bunny ears and found it interesting, and also the facts that there are so many of him and that he is quite happy and friendly for a demon so the bunny makes sense, so he might be a sort of a rabbit. Or perhaps something goat type because of the horns.
Question if there is another role in Good Omens he would have liked to have played: he always thought that the four horsemen were very cool and Pollution was his favourite so probably Pollution (also was the most jealous of Pollution’s contact lenses).
If there were a season 2, he would be there in a heartbeat.
Question about Eric’s feelings on Crowley, if he’s a bit of a Crowley fan: I think he might be. There is something about Crowley and how he is somehow a little bit different from the rest of the demons. - and the Disposable Demon has, much like Crowley, interest in the human world. He could well be 6,000 how many years old, the same as everyone else, but he seems to have this younger vibe and I think he thinks that Crowley is quite cool.
Good Omens fandom is his first experience with a fandom of this scale. It speaks a lot, the fact that this kind of very, this minor character, a character who is only on screen for a very short amount of time gets any kind of attention at all, it's quite amazing really, it goes to show how big and enthusiastic the fans are. I never experienced anything like that.
6. Jeremy Marshall-Roberts (the owner of Mary the Bentley)
When Crowley used a miracle to switch off the Bentley lights in Episode 1 at nuns manor it was done by: there was actually a very small guy called Louis turning on and off the switches quickly.
David Tennant was allowed to wear the snake eye contacts for only 3 hours a day otherwise they could damage his eyesight.
For Mary, the Bentley, it was the second time she was ‘blown up’ on film - first being in the Endeavour with Inspector Morse about three years earlier.
He was a bit nervous during filming the bookshop fire scene because the Bentley was so close to a real fire - not wanting the paint to blister. The car was moved off after a few minutes of filming but still.
About the damage to Mary: Unfortunately, we overran, and Rob my stunt driver had already booked a holiday and off he went and so when he returned in January, on the 10th of January, I had this new driver who really had no clue how to drive old cars, so I showed him around, I showed him to go around corners. He came around the corner, the door was not closed properly for some reason and the door flew open as he went around. And instead of slamming on the brakes which is extremely efficient and would stop him straight away he kept on going, hit another car and really smashed the door quite badly. It did take the car off the roads for 10 months. The door was completely remade because of this accident and it cost the total of £24 000 to rebuild the car to get it back to running as it is today.
The Bentley’s part most difficult to maintain and service is the engine.
Would Mary be available for a potential season 2: definitely!

Magnus Bane: Story Arc (Theory/Thoughts)
So I’ve been thinking about Magnus Bane (as one does) and about The Black Volume Of The Dead.
We all know that Magnus Bane has a strong moral compass, which is focused more on his emotions (for example fear/anger/love/…) than the laws made by Mundanes/Downworld/Shadowhunters.
It can be seen in The Bane Chronicles, where Magnus and that one woman he dated over summer stole money from the rich, we can see it with his former joke cult.
His general story arc is set around that compass, and how that compass leads Magnus through his life with many different situations and also many different generations. Throughout the books, there’s one concept that gets teased very often, yet is never explored in its full potential:
Magnus own relationship with his magic and most importantly the fear of changing morals awoken by the usage of to much power.
The way, Magnus is seeing his magic is getting touched different by TV-show and books (I rarely compare those two, but now it’s kinda fitting)
TV!Magnus
A huge Magnus story-arc in Season 3 was him loosing his magic and having to live with the consequences. He said himself that magic makes him feel alive. It’s his connection to the people around him. In both medias we see Magnus expressing his affection by helping the ones that are dear to him. TV!Magnus felt withdrawn without his powers. He felt useless, because that’s how he shows his love. We see this in an episode, where Izzy gets bitten by Simon and falls back in her YinFen addiction and Magnus couldn’t do anything to help her.
Long story short: The TV-show focused on Magnus’ magic being a part of his life energy and his ways to show affection
Book!Magnus
These things don’t get talked about in the books, even though we know that all of the above is fitting Magnus’ book!character too. In the books, Magnus is more wary of his powers and what he can do with it. I’ve seen a lot of people here on Tumblr asking, why Magnus doesn’t use his powers to his full expense, and the answer is simple. Magnus is scared.
Scared to be like his father. He saw the ways power affected his warlock friends twice in the books, first with Shinyun and then with Malcolm Fade. In The Red Scrolls Of Magic, Magnus compared himself to Shinyun Jung, saying that “she is his dark mirror”.
We have multiple teases to Magnus almost becoming a bad person:
1. In The Lost Book Of The White, Magnus was in danger of getting a third stab from the Svefnthorn and then being completely under Sammael’s control
2. Thule Magnus/ QoAaD, where he almost got turned into a demon due to the warlock sickness
Magnus had a failsafe in both instances. He asked Alec to kill him, if he ever where in the danger of getting possessed/ turned evil.
Also we can’t forget about the warlock squad failsafe (which at least doesn’t result in death), where they’d stop each other with whatever it takes, if someone would decide to perform necromancy.
In conclusion, Magnus is a very careful person, filled with doubts and fears, and we often got little teases, that were close to pushing him off the edge. And here comes my point:
If Magnus wouldn’t have a morally wrong aspect (if only for a short period of time) in future books, his arc would feel incomplete.
Something about him still being only on “the good side” in the future books just doesn’t sit right with me. It feels like all his backstory and all these little teases are there to build up tension. I would like to see a little Dark!Magnus in The Black Volume Of The Dead (as TWP is already packed and TEC is a series, where he’s a main character).
(This isn’t actually a theory, rather a wish or something idk, but thank you for being a patient reader. And hey, you made to the end, good job😌)
I would love to hear your thoughts on Magnus’ story arc as well, if you want to…👀❤️
#also I had to look up the name of that stupid thorn for more than 10 minutes#how do you even pronounce it?.?#magnus bane#thoughts/theories#the black volume of the dead#the shadowhunter chronicles
