✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ ✦ . ⁺ . ✦ . ⁺ . ✦
THE DELICATE FOLDS of the pale pink sundress fluttered like petals in a gentle breeze, framing your figure with a soft, ethereal elegance. As the front door yielded to the push, the fabric danced around your legs, caressing the tender skin of your thighs with a whisper of touch. Your radiant smile illuminated the scene, a beacon of joy amidst the fluttering fabric and nervous flutter of butterflies in your stomach.
“Hey!” The male voice chimed brightly, his tone cheerful as a songbird greeting the dawn, echoing through the air with an infectious energy that mirrored your own bright smile.
“Hey!” You respond with effervescent warmth, your smile stretching across your face like a sunbeam breaking through clouds. With a graceful gesture, you swing the door open wider, revealing the inviting warmth of your home’s foyer. The soft light spills in, casting a golden glow over the polished floors and elegant furnishing. The first thing to notice is the giant painting of a Ferrari Formula One car, hung high above the entry way table.
“Look who we have here! It’s Mrs. Leclerc!” A delicate blush warms your cheeks, a subtle reminder of the tender affection that tingles within you whenever you’re addressed as such. Though you and Charles have been together for many years, your marriage has infused your relationship with a fresh sense of intimacy and closeness. And despite that it’s been almost five years, the title of “wife” feels forever new and unfamiliar.
“On a scale of 1-10, how excited are you about life right now?”
“I would say 8, so I’m super excited!” With a gentle click, you shut the front door behind you, enveloping the foyer in a tranquility as you made your way down the hallway to the kitchen. Along the way, you stooped to pick up a scattering of children’s toys that lay scattered like confetti on the polished wooden floors, offering a quick apology for the perceived “mess. However, you couldn’t help but inwardly smile at the orchestrated chaos around you. While the house was meticulously maintained by the cleaning company before the video shoot, every detail was carefully curated to strike the perfect balance between lived-in warmth and elegance, ensuring a setting that felt both inviting and authentic to you and the viewers.
“Any reason for that?”
In the heart of the home lies a kitchen adorned with a stunning green cabinet motif. The cabinets, painted in a rich emerald hue, exude an air of sophistication and charm, perfectly complemented by gleaming brass hardware. Sunlight filters through the vast array of windows, casting a warm glow over the polished marble countertops.
“You mean other than the fact that the kids go back to school soon?” You and the interviewer let out a soft laugh as you made your way behind the kitchen island, opening the fridge in a smooth motion to pull out a water bottle. “Want one?”
“No, but thanks though!” His voice is light-hearted.
As the fridge door remains open, a tantalizing glimpse is offered to the audience of its well-stocked interior. A colorful array of fresh produce fills the shelves, showing an abundance of vibrant fruits and crisp vegetables. Among the healthy offerings, assortment of juice boxes catches the eye, adding a playful touch to the wholesome scene.
“That’s a lot of juice boxes you have in there.” He makes a comment, it’s not a question, but you take it as one.
“Two kids and a husband,” You start, your tone light and casual before lowering your voice into a conspiratorial whisper for the camera, “who practically is also a kid, results in a lot of juice boxes.” With a playful wink directed at the lens, you punctuate the statement, adding a touch of humor to the scene. Setting the water bottle down on the expansive kitchen counter, you resume your easy demeanor, effortlessly blending candor and charm for your audience.
“Hey!” Your head shoots over, the camera seamlessly following your gaze to where Charles, your husband, sits on the floor of the living room, two of your kids, aged two and three, beside him with an abundance of toys strewn about. “I heard that!” Charles retorts with mock offense, a playful grin lighting up his face as he joins in the banter.
The living room exudes a chic sophistication with a distinct Formula One flair. Charcoal-gray walls provide a sleek backdrop, accentuating the mounted flat-screen television. A striking statement piece dominates one corner—a display of artwork showcasing all of the racetracks Charles has conquered – infusing the room with a sense of triumph and energy. A plush white sofa, adorned with an array of vibrant red pillows, invites relaxation and style. Across the room, a sizable shelf proudly showcases a collection of racing helmets, some belonging to Charles and others gathered over time, adding a personal touch to the space. Below the television, was a long console table that was adorned in various plants and photos of your family. You couldn’t help but smile as you glanced at them.
With a casual wave of your hand, you dismiss Charles’s playful interruption, maintaining your position at the kitchen island as the camera refocuses on you. The gesture carries an air of affectionate familiarity, a gentle reminder of the dynamic energy that permeates your bustling household.
“If you could do a love scene with anyone, who would it be?”
“Definitely Austin Butler.” You answer almost immediately, no hesitance in your voice.
“Hey!” Charles’s playful yelp echoes through the room once more, accompanied by the joyful laughter of your children. One nestled in his lap, the other engrossed in a picture book, their presence adding warmth and vitality to the room. You share a knowing smile with Charles, the affectionate banter a familiar melody to your family life.
The laughter of the interviewer joins the playful exchange. The camera effortlessly captures the dynamic interaction between all of you with ease.
You roll your eyes playfully, “Restez en dehors de ça.” Stay out of this!
“Arrête de faire semblant de vouloir faire l’amour avec quelqu’un d’autre que moi!” Stop pretending you want to make love with anybody but me!
With a mischievous gleam in your eye, you turn back to the camera, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of your lips. “Can I change my answer?” You inquire, injecting a hint of playful anticipation into your tone.
“Sure,” the interviewer replies.
“You’re supposed to say no,” You quip with a chuckle.
“Oh, um no?”
With a playful pout, you glance over at Charles who is already staring at the interaction. A smile adorned on his face like he is in complete awe of you, regardless of what you are saying. “Sorry honey!” You wave your hand around. “Answers are final!”
Leaving the kitchen behind, you make your way towards the backyard, where the promise of relaxation and leisure awaits. Stepping through the door, you’re greeted by the sight of a large pool shimmering under the sunlight, its crystal-clear waters beckoning for a refreshing dip. Surrounding the pool, lounge chairs are strategically place, some on the pool’s ledge, inciting you to bask in the sun while enjoying the cool water. A wide arrangement of pool floaties from unicorns to racecars litter the pool as well.
It’s a breathtaking sight: a vast expanse of bright blue skies stretching overhead, adorned with barely a wisp of cloud in sight. The warm rays of sun dance upon your skin. With a stylish flourish, you slip on a pair of your favorite Ray-Bans, a subtle nod to your husband’s sunglass collection.
“Vintage or new?”
You ponder for a moment as you stand in the backyard, a breeze blowing your hair behind your shoulders. “Depends, but definitely vintage.”
“Window or aisle seat?”
“Aisle, although Charles likes to take the aisle more.”
“What are three things you can’t live without?”
“Wait, do my children count as two of the three?”
“Up to you.”
“Okay, so my two children. And my lip gloss.” You laugh, pausing for effect. “Kidding! My two kids, and my lip gloss…” You pause, jokingly. “And my husband of course.” The light-hearted remark reflects the joyful chaos of humor and love in your life. “He’s really the sweetest man. I’m so lucky.”
The glass door slides open with a whisper, and into the frame steps Charles, his presence incessant. With a carefree demeanor, he approaches you clad in a pair of baggy jeans and a plain white t-shirt that stretched at the seams from his muscles. He presses soft kisses to your cheeks, the stubble of his own rubbing against your smooth skin, his love evident in each tender kiss.
“Désolé,” Sorry. He apologizes before pecking another kiss to your cheek. “Tellement ambrassable.” Just so kissable. He places one more on your cheek, your face bright red from the camera’s catching all of this.
“Looks like he can’t be far from you for very long.”
Charles looks at the camera, a glint in his eye with a large smile, like he was the happiest man on earth, and nothing could dampen his spirits. Especially with you nearby. “Est-ce que tu la vois?” Do you see her?
The interviewer, unaware of Charles’s words, simply nods in response behind the camera lens, acknowledging the affection in his tone. Later translations will reveal the depth of Charles’s words no doubt. Elle est tellement belle. Bien sûr, je ne peux pas rester loin longtemps.” She’s so beautiful. Of course, I can’t stay far long.
Your face is bright red as Charles remains at your side.
“Where are the kids?”
“Put them down for a nap!” Charles answers, his arm slung over your shoulder as he leans on you comfortably.
As the interviewer continues the questionnaire, Charles can’t resist interjecting with playful remarks and comments on almost every question. His spontaneous interruptions add an element of humor and spontaneity to the video, turning what could have been a standard interview into an entertaining and engaging exchange.
“How do you define beauty?” “My wife.” “Charles, the questions are for me!”
"What do you love most about your body?" "That's an easy one...I think her--" Charles begins, but you swat his chest and cut him off. "I love my arms. Not because they're that nice but they give me the ability to hold my children." Charles clicks his tongue, hating that you even implied something about yourself as 'not that nice'.
"Least favorite color?" "Red." Charles lets out a large gasp with a string of phrases in French, clearly hurt by your response. "It's a joke, mon amour!" "How did you know you were in love?" You look at Charles then, his eyes already on you, a soft smile pulling on both of your lips. "I can't remember a time when I wasn't in love with him. Probably when I realized I would rather be awake in the middle of the night, since he was traveling so much, just to talk to him for even a few minutes, instead of going to sleep." Charles plays with the ends of your hair, twirling the ends around his fingers as he chimes in. "We've known each other for so long. But, when I first met her, it was like meeting someone I've known my entire life. There was no awkward silences between us. We just clicked."
“Diamonds or pearls?” “Pearls.” “Mon chou, don’t lie.” “I’m not!” “The diamond on your finger says otherwise!”
“If you made a documentary, what would it be about?” “Charles’ brain. I seriously question what goes on in there sometimes.” “Hey! It’s only you…” You raise your eyebrows at him, like he’s a liar. “And racing.” “Definitely racing.”
“If you had a tattoo, where would it be?”
Charles smirks deeply, like he knows something the world doesn’t, the interviewer picks up on it. “Wait, you have a tattoo? Can we see it?”
“No! It’s for me only.”
You playfully swat at Charles’ chest, a playful blush coloring your cheeks as you both wander throughout the house, showcasing its beautiful décor. Despite your embarrassment at Charles’ antics, you can’t help but be thankful for him easing your nerves. You weren’t one for the public eye, normally. So, when you agreed to this interview it came out as quite a surprise.
“Okay final question of the day.”
You both stand by the front door, the interviewer on the front step outside of the home.
“Hugs or kisses?”
“Definitely ki—” You don’t get to finish your answer as Charles’ fingers grasp onto your neck, his fingers sprawled along your jawline as well, and tugs your face into his. He shuts the door as soon as his tongue slips into your mouth.
It’s a few seconds before you push him off you. “You’re unbelievable!”
A giant smile spreads across his face as he looks down at you. “Only for you, mon chou!”

Orc x reader
You lived in alittle cottage on the outskirts of town. Many found you to be strange but you had the best fruits and vegetables anyone had tasted so when you came into town to trade and sell the line was never ending. The towns people had practically raised you so your booth was always busy. What you weren't expecting today was the fact an orc had set up a meat stand right next to your produce stand. You had arrived before the sunlight to set up as you always do but froze taking in the sight. An orc, well over 6 ft tall, was standing in front of the stand next to yours hanging up rows of wrapped meat. You swallowed as you watched the way his muscles moved, enjoying the dark green color on his skin. You took in the scars that littered his back. Wishing you could kiss each individual scar. Distracted you hadn't notice the orc had turned his head and notice your stare.
"I paid for this stand I won't leave even if you have an issue with my kind." He snarled snapping you out of your perverse thoughts.
"No! I.. I mean no I don't have a problem with orcs. I just hadn't seen you around before. I'm... I'm sorry I didn't mean to stare or make you uncomfortable." You stammered out your cheeks turning bright red in embarrassment. You looked him in the eyes finally taking in his features. He had four tusks in total. Two larger than the the others , his eyes a vibrant yellow that reminded you of the sunflowers you grew around your cabin. You were attracted to the orc and had already made him think you where racist, way to go.
"Agar Warbringer." He said holding out his hand.
"Agar thats a wonderful name." You whispered shaking his hand as you told him your name. Agar grunted giving you a curt nod before turning back to his meats.
You left him alone to continue setting up your stand. Little did you know Agar couldn't help but keep stealing peeks at the small little human. You hadn't been afraid and looked him in the eyes. Plus the smell of your arousal had been what caught his attention in the first place. A human female attracted to an orc. There must be something wrong with you. He watched from the side as you set out your produce. Watching the way your hair fell and how often you'd brush it out of your eyes. The way the dawn was starting to shine on your skin so very different from his. Then he thought back to your tiny hand in his. How soft your fingers where compared to his. He could feel his cock hardening at the thought of your hands wrapped around him. Agar cursed silently under his breath focusing on the task at hand. He couldn't sell his meats if he couldn't even control his own.
The bell that signaled the start of the market rang through the air and just as fast, people started to flood in. As you helped person after person you kept stealing glances at Agar unable to help yourself. He was so handsome and they way he handled people was incredible. Giving small children some jerky to nibble on while there parents picked through his assorted product. The way he laughed with the elders as they told him their own hunting tales. His patience was vast even with those who didn't deserve it.
"Honestly if I were you I'd ask to move your stand." You jumped looking at the young man standing at the front of your line.
"Excuse me?" You asked shocked at his statement.
"Why would they allow an orc to put up a stand next to yours? Your one of the busiest stands in the market that thing will scare away your buyers with his ugly face." You could feel rage boiling up inside of you. How dare he say something so nasty.
"If that's all for you, I think you should go." You said coldly. The boy looked at you in disbelief.
"Don't tell me you actually care about that orc." He gasped. Shaking his head he scowled and left muttering under his breath. You knew violence was prohibited but you wanted to beat some sense into that child. You quickly stepped behind the stand for a second to calm your nerves. As you started to prepare to head back you turned right into Agar slamming your head into his chest. He quickly grabbed your arms to stop you from falling.
"Are you okay? I saw you kick that man away from your stand." He asked with a wince. Why was he over here? The last thing you probably wanted was him so close. Without thinking since Agar had a hold of both your arms still you rubbed your nose on his chest it had stung to slam into him. As his musky scent started to fill your sense you froze. Quickly pulling back from him your face turning red in embarrassment. You had just practically harassed him.
"I'm fine. Thank you for coming to check up on me. Sorry about your chest. I mean sorry. I'm just gonna go back the lines waiting. Thank you again!" You rushed out the words. Mortified how could things possibly get worse.
As the day continued you stayed busy still stealing glances at Agar every chance you had. Then as usual the bell tolled signaling the end of the market. When you looked over at Agars stand again. The orc was quickly loading his cart not even sparing you a glance as he did. A deep ache settled into your chest. Why was it bothering you? You and Agar had barely meet. You needed to leave him alone. Ignoring the tears burning at your eyes you started to pack up your own stand. Working diligently placing all the produce back into the crates you'd brought them in. So busy you hadn't noticed Agar slid inside to stand behind you. Agar shifted on his heels he had come to help you, wanting to court you in the orc manner, but paused as he could smell your tears. Had that man come back? He'd crush his skull for making you cry. Agar chose to clear his throat to get your attention wishing to bring you comfort. What he wasn't anticipating was the terrified shriek that left your lips. Agar covered his ears stumbling back an slamming his head on one of the beams. He lowered himself to sit on the counter rubbing his large hand over the bump.
"Oh by the gods Agar I'm sorry you scared me." You cried out, pulling him down to inspect where he hit his head. Swatting his hand away so you could see better. "Luckily your not bleeding." You whispered as you gently ran your fingers thru his hair. His forehead was rested on your breast in this postion. Agar found his eyes sliding closed letting out a soft moan. You started to pull away worried that the sound he made was because of pain. Agar wrapped his arm around your waist resting his chin on your breast.
"It's okay I shouldn't have snuck up on you." Agar had opened his eyes to take you in once again, you looked so worried for him. He found himself smiling at the way you fiddled with his hair while holding eye contact with him. "Little one, what made you cry?" He found himself asking. You shook your head wiping at your eyes. You let out a sigh biting your lip.
"I thought I'd upset you. And that you'd no longer want anything to do with me. You were packing up your cart so quickly." You whispered looking down. Agar groaned in embarrassment.
"I was packing my cart up so quickly because I wanted to come help you. I hoped if I helped you perhaps you'd allow me to spend more time with you." Agar gently grabbed your hands unwillingly lifting his head from your breast. He couldn't help himself but to admire the differences between the two of you.
"You wanted to spend more time with me?" You asked drawing Agars gaze away from your hands. At the look of wonder mixed with delight on your face, Agar found himself moving once more this time pulling you closer to him as he sealed his lips against yours. He spread his thighs tugging you into the space in-between. Placing your hands onto his chest he groaned. He dragged his hand up your arm tangling his thick fingers into your hair as he deepened the kiss. You'd never been kissed like this before it was all fire, passion, and need. You felt as though Agar would never get his fill of you. As you moaned collapsing against him no longer able to hold yourself up on your shaky legs. Agar slid his tongue into your mouth, bringing you into a heated dance of your tongues. As Agar broke the kiss he chuckled at the soft dazed look on your face.
"Your so beautiful and kind. You smell like sunshine and taste like fresh fruit. How could I not want to spend time with you? Let's pack up your cart then we shall go for a stroll." You whined softly as he separated the two of you smiling brightly at your response. He was pleased that you where returning his affection. He had truly believed wooing you wouldn't be possible. Yet here you where looking at him with some much love he kept forgetting how to breath. You approached Agar as he put the last crate into your cart.
"Are you staying in town?" You asked. Agar look at you shaking his head.
"No the people normally prefer I don't stay in town. I rest in my cart." At his words you shook your head. You knew that humans and the mythical didn't get along but that felt like to much.
"Please Agar, come stay at my cabin. I'll make us a hot meal and you can sleep on an actual bed." You begged softly. Agar look down at you his eyes widened. He found himself nodding at a loss for words, especially when your face lit up in a bright smile upon his agreement. The travel to your cabin didn't take long. You lived in the forest, just outside the city walls.
"Why don't you live in town?" Agar asked. Taking in your home. You had paused a sad look settling on your face before you answered.
"Mmm my parents where what the towns people call wise men. My father would say they where historians. They'd take down knowledge of anything and everything they could. When my mother discovered she was pregnant they chose this forest. I've been here ever since." A soft silence once again settled between the two of you. You led the horses to the barn as Agar looked at you.
"How old where you when they left?" Agar asked softly.
"I was six. I really dont like talking about it. The people in town took good care of me helped me be an honest worker." You whispered entering your home Agar close behind. You showed Agar a place to wash up as you cooked dinner.
You and Agar enjoyed your meal sharing stories. Agar helped you clean up.
"I'll show you to the bedroom." You whispered leading the way down the hall. As you arrived to your bedroom and opened the door Agar blinked.
"This is really well furnished for a spare bedroom." He stated simply sitting down on the foot of the bed. You blushed fiddling with your fingers once more.
"It's my bedroom. I thought.... I thought we could sleep together." Agar smiled you where being so bold and brave.
"Come here little one." He groaned as he pulled you onto his lap. You whinned softly at the feeling of Agars cock pressed against your core. He chuckled at the needy sound lowering his head to kiss you. His hands gripping your ass slowly dragging you along his length. "You feel that little one. I've been like that all day watching you." He growled lowering his head to travel kisses and small nips with his tusk along your neck. He chuckled once more at the needy sounds leaving your lips. "So desperate love. Acting like I don't have every intention to stuff you full."
"Please Agar more. Want you to take me." You practically sobbed out. Agar burst out laughing at your antics making you pout.
"I have to prepare you little one I'm much to big for you to take me right away." He layed down flat on the bed. "Take off the rest of your clothes and come up here." At his order, you quickly threw off your gown and undergarments. Once again drawing a chuckle from Agar. He found your eagerness endearing. As you climbed onto his lap he shook his head. "Higher love. I cant feast on you from all the way down there." You looked at him swallowing heavily as he licked his lips and tusks. You made your way up untill your dripping cunt was hovering above his face.
"I what if I hurt you?" You asked holding yourself up. This time it was your turn to laugh. The look on Agars face was a mix between being insulted and bewilderment.
"I want you to try." He growled his hands closing around on your hips pulling you straight onto his face. Making you choke on your laughter as his tusk pressed right against your lips, opening you up for his thick tongue. At the first swipe along your clit you whined. He moaned low pushing his tongue into your opening. He rubbed his nose against your clit as he tried to touch the deepest parts of you with his tongue. Gasping and trying to pull away from the overwhelming pleasure he snarled in frustration. You where interrupting him, with a quick movement you where moving backwards. Finding yourself flat on the bed his face still buried inbetween your legs.
"Oh by the stars Agar I can't!" You cried out as he now had you fully pinned open to his assault. He was fucking you with his tongue every once in awhile giving special attention to your swollen clit. You continued to try to get away from the immense pleasure. Agar brought one arm up to settle on to your hips right under your stomach. Using his other hand he grabbed your leg moving it so he could slip his hand to your weeping cunt. He slid his ring finger into you. Just his one finger was already stretching you wider then his tongue had. You moaned your back arching. Agar didn't hesitate to add a second you where already so wet for him. Agar slid his fingers deeper, watching as you cum. You were such a sight spread out before him so ready, so willing, and so sensitive. As his fingers pressed against your g-spot you cried out the sensation dragging out your already intense orgasam. He groaned in delight making sure you rode out the high of your orgasm, continuing to fuck you with his fingers.
"Your so sweet little one." He sighed dragging his tongue up your sensitive cunt making you whine.
"I could live in between your legs, but now your ready for me. Catch your breath." His eyes were almost glowing with his need to have you. Agar was patient rubbing slowly circles on your thighs as your breathing slowed.
"Please Agar. I'm ready I want you." At your words, Agar moved pulling you towards him. He grabbed his cock in his hand dragging it along you wet folds. As he lined himself up with your entrance he locked his eyes onto yours. Slowly pushing himself in he gritted his teeth. Slow, he had to go slow, you were so wet and tight. He could fill his control slipping. Another soft moan left your lips. With that soft sound Agar could no longer resist. He pushed himself the rest of the way with a quick rough thrust, his balls smacked against your ass. You let out a loud groan your eyes sliding closed at the feeling of being filled.
"Oh no mate, your gonna keep those gorgeous eyes on me." Agar growled as he began to move. Your eyes flew open thanks to the way he was kissing your cervix with every thrust. "There's my pretty mate. So lovely so tight around me. Irresistible, I will never let you go."
Your nails where digging into his bicep. The pleasure was overwhelming you. You were getting close to cumming. With out thinking you sank your teeth into his chest. Agar groaned feeling your walls tightening on him. "My pretty girl your begging for my seed. Pulling me back so tight." At Agars next rough thrust you cried out into his chest
Agar roared as he slammed himself all the way into you, slamming into your cervix as he filled you with his seed. Agar brushed your hair away from your eyes taking in the way your eyes where dilated. How your breast rose and fell with each panting breath. Blinking away your tears you looked back at Agar.
"Did you mean it?" You asked softly. Agar looked at you with a soft tilt of his head.
"Mean what little one?" He asked as he ran his hands along anywhere he could easily reach.
"When you called me your mate?" You whispered hiding your face now afraid his answer would be no. You wanted to spend the rest of your life with Agar rather it be in your cabin or traveling by his side. Agar froze at your question he thought he had made that perfectly clear. Pulling his cock back he slid himself back in slowly to your sensitive cunt. Your eyes rolled back at the overwhelming pleasure. Agar leaned down resting his cheek against yours. Setting in a slow steady pace.
"I meant every word. Your mine little one. My mate, my lover, my heart. I'll make sure your always full of my offsprings. I'll make sure all you know is how much your mine." As Agar continued to thrust into you at his words your eyes flew open looking at him. Agar above you his green skin shining with sweat under the lanterns. His yellow eyes were filled with admiration and need.
Agar once again picked up his pace. Making you cry out.
"All yours Agar. Your mate. But please I'm so close. So sensitive." You sobbed out fresh tears falling down your cheeks. Agar groaned at your words sliding his hand under your waist he lifted you up to meet his thrust at his brutal pace. Agar closed his lips over yours Pulling you into a heavy kiss. As he slid his tongue into your mouth. You once again came on his cock. Agar slid all the way into you once more as he came. As Agar pulled out fully this time he watched his cum dripping out of your cunt and down your thighs. Dragging his finger along the cum he started pushing it back into your cunt. He wouldn't allow a drop to be wasted. Your back arched at this rate Agar would be the death of you.
"Agar please I...I need some rest." You stammered out. Agar looked at you letting out a soft grunt. He laid down back flat on the bed easily pulling you onto him. Your head rested on his chest while he had your legs inbeetween his thighs. He started to fiddle with your hair.
"Sleep my heart for once you awaken I will have you again." He stated smiling at you his eyes filled with the same look of love and admiration. Agar had finally found his heart and he would never abandoned her.

𝑬𝒏𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑶𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒅 𝑳𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔: 𝑨 𝑷𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒉𝒍𝒆𝒕
A few snapshots of the shenanigans you get up to with your dragon. - addendums to abundance and choice dragon!sylus x gn!reader, tooth-rotting domestic fluff, drabble format, sfw; 800wc
I. Provide a reassuring, secure dwelling.
Most of the peculiarities that accompanied living with a dragon were tolerable with the passage of time. There was one exception, when you woke up early for the nth time because every single muscle in your back was screaming at you.
You mentioned you couldn't sleep on piles of gold forever, and he'd muttered about picky mortals under his breath.
Hours later, you spotted him atop a treasure mound pulling out various delicate fabrics, delicately held in his claws. You were presented with a makeshift nest he put together for you, made of assorted drapes and velvet finery.
A strange ritual took place in the transitional period that followed: out of sheer stubbornness, he insisted on using the gold piles as his bed, flippantly stating he would sleep there, apart from you. After he thought you'd fallen asleep he would migrate to the nest without fail, his tail coiling around your leg to keep you pressed to him. The nights would unfold this way for a good while, until he finally surrendered to the temptation of the silken fabrics, swathed in the promise of your welcoming, warm embrace.
II. Offer a variety of food.
You bring up his exclusive diet of meat when you realise that's all he's eaten since you met him.
"Sweetie, I'm part dragon, if you haven't noticed." He says through a mouthful of raw antelope, his lips dyed scarlet with its blood.
"Yes, but even you need a healthy, balanced diet. Back then, I befriended a stray lizard in the Sanctuary by bribing it with fruits and vegetables," you reply straight away, having anticipated his response.
He arches a brow and opens his mouth to interject, but you continue, "not to mention, food can be a source of happiness too. There are so many flavours and textures you're missing out on. Allow me to show you."
Though he remains sceptical, he obliges you in gathering the ingredients for a salad with some simple dressing the next day. You'll never forget the look on his face after he took a bite.
III. Engage in novel forms of play.
"How about a chase or two around the den? I could use a stretch."
Any chance to exercise his human legs comes as a novelty – after all, flying is his main form of cardio. You manage to evade him for a few minutes, but he gets you when you tire, pinning you to the ground with a triumphant gleam in his eyes; not unlike the expression of a predator that's caught its quarry.
These games of tag turn into a regular amusement, and you're glad for it. At least there was another option besides hide and seek now.
Sometimes he initiates them during your late afternoon excursions to the valley bordering his city, and you aren't always the one being pursued. He enjoys it the other way around too, stealing playful glances over his shoulder as you run hot on his heels through the grassy slopes, the wind mussing up his hair, laughing as the waning light drenches his eyes in the splendid shades of a thousand blazing sunsets.
IV. Decorate the enclosure.
You'd been waiting for his curiosity about humans to surface again, and leaped into action the second Sylus brought it up, his tone almost shy.
"Show me more of this… art."
You first taught him how to combine water with finely ground clay to create pigments—he'd generously carved out wide stone bowls for you to hold them in, hollowing them out like they were made of paper.
A few adjustments had to be made along the way to account for your difference in species. While your fingers sufficed as artistic tools, the same couldn't be said of his rigid claws. He couldn't apply the mixture with any shape or form other than thin and crooked lines. To accommodate him, you went and plucked a handful of hairs from the wild horses that roamed his lands, and bound them to a stick with some rope to create a brush that he could use instead.
His cave served as a vast canvas from then on. You never told him what to make; just extended patient encouragements to stave off the occasional flashes of self-doubt that threatened his budding creativity.
Days became weeks, then months, as the walls were covered with his paintings, alongside yours. He gravitated to drawing the panoply of animals that called his territory home—aurochs, ibex, eagles, and bison, to name some—with intense earnestness, his brow furrowed in great focus. One time, you saw him tucked in a concealed nook of the lair, sketching a dragon and human cuddled together.
It took every ounce of willpower you had to wait until that evening to tackle him down and smother him in kisses. In between each press of your lips, you mumbled, "I— love you— so— damn— much, you silly man."

Reader sending a picture of her not very balanced very snacky but yummy meal captioned “girl dinner!!” while Spencer is away on a case and it just turns into Spencer calling her in front of everyone to kindly lecture on how that isn’t an actual meal and how she needs to eat something real/he’ll order something for her LMAO
You're not expecting the immediate call from Spencer after you send him a picture of your meal, but you pick it up anyways with the crunch of a pretzel stick.
"Spence?" You speak through your mouthful, long-since over the illusion of perfection around him.
"Angel," He greets you, worry lacing his sweeet voice, "Is that really your dinner?"
"Yeah," You laugh, looking down at the collection of pretzel sticks and cheesy popcorn that adorn the plate around your bowl of macaroni and cheese, "I don't feel like anything else."
"Sweetheart," He hums, "That's not a very nourishing meal. You're probably going to feel gross afterwards, it's going to make you tired and you're not going to feel very energized tomorrow."
"Spence, I know," You chuckle, adjusting the phone against your ear, "It's girl dinner. It's supposed to be unhealthy and mismatched."
"Girl dinner," He grumbles, his brows probably furrowed adorably. "What-?"
In the background you hear assorted giggles, Prentiss's the most recognizable. You assume that others are JJ and Garcia, and you hope they're enjoying themselves.
"It's a meme," You explain, "An internet joke, Spencer. I'm in the mood for junk food, so instead of forcing myself to eat healthy all the time, sometimes you just have to give in and eat like shit for a night. Girl dinner."
"If you paired it with a vegetable, you'd at least be getting some nutrients," Spencer tries, but you cut him off while you stir your macaroni.
"No vegetables. This is girl dinner. I'm okay, Spence, I'll eat something really good for breakfast tomorrow."
"Okay," He's hesitant to agree, "But- but honey, if you're having trouble preparing yourself food, I can order in for you, okay? Just tell me what you want and I'll wake up early to have it sent over."
"Spencer!" You giggle, eager to get to your less-than-balanced meal, "Okay. This is just a one-time joke, okay? I thought it would be funny to send you. You don't have to worry."
"I worry about you all the time," He confesses, and you know it's meant to be flattering instead of insulting, "I'll have fresh fruit delivered for you tomorrow, okay?"
"Okay, Spencer." You finally concede, "Okay. I love you."
"I love you too," Now you hear the relaxed smile in his voice, "Enjoy your- uh, girl dinner."

Cat reader idea: which one is your favorite. Like Damian would be nice but he’s always on you for improper diet (you ate fruit and not the horrid wet food he leaves out for you)
Dick has no sense of personal space and he wants to squeeze your adorable little toe beans despite your protests.
Jason would be okay but he practically steals you at night for cuddles and for your own safety. Nothing safer than sleeping with a knife under your pillow.
Tim is iffy, he just likes your company, but the moment you sneeze he’s sending you to the vet- even worse when you get out, using your chip to locate you.
Bruce and alfred just adore you, but only get to see you now and then due to their busy schedules, mainly petting you when they walk by or doing your training.
:3 hope this is accurate lmao
Okay, this is beautiful and a perfect way to incorporate some things into the fic.
More on cat shifter reader.
01
Damian is 100% on your ass, meticulously keeping track of your dietary habits, setting up charts to keep track of your meal times, ensuring that the family knows exactly what you've consumed and what not to give you. This way, he can ensure that you're sticking to the food plan he's designed, with zero room for deviation. He even resorts to constantly reminding Alfred and Dick not to give you anything, no matter how hard your adorable little eyes plead up at them. Determined to make sure you stick to his meal plan. It’s even worse when you’re in your human form, despite his repeated warnings. — and don’t get him started on Jason. The man is the most difficult of them all to control when it comes to your diet. He completely ignores Damian's instructions and will immediately scoop you up and secure you in the cat carrier attached to his motorcycle if you even hint at being hungry. Then, he'll spirit you away to his apartment without a second thought, offering you an array of forbidden human foods in exchange for your sweet meows.
Don’t think about attempting to escape through him however, that would only lead to being futile. He's engineered his bike with a series of safety precautions, meaning that if you even displayed the slightest indication of trying to jump out or escape, the restraints would immediately tighten, making it virtually impossible for you to break out. Let alone breathe comfortably.
Moving back to your diet; Damian has completely altered the Wayne Manor’s kitchen to cater exclusively to your feline dietary needs. He’s even managed to ensure that the rest of the family has adapted their own diets to match yours, to prevent any accidents regarding food you’re not supposed to eat. Despite your attempts to reason with him, Damian refuses to acknowledge that as a human, you can safely consume foods like chocolate without getting sick. You’re a kitten after all.
Though, if by some chance you do manage to infiltrate the kitchen, an assortment of only the finest fruits are packed at the ready for you. Small bits of cut up mango, fresh unpackaged pineapple, blueberries, melon, bananas, apricots, apples and watermelon at the ready. The fridge always stocked full of cooked meats, fluffy cooked rice, boiled eggs, and vegetables.
Damian might not be overjoyed when you venture from the specific meats and hundreds of lavish wet food brands that he's tasked Pennyworth to prepare, he still begrudgingly accepts it as a form of compromise. As long as you’re eating things that fall within his carefully controlled parameters, he can justify allowing it. He’s aware that you need some form of autonomy and independence to survive in the manor, unlike many of his brothers.
He treats you the most reasonably.
02
Dick is definitely one of the people who gets loads of little cat clothes to dress you up in and needs to have you in his little cat bag so he can take you around everywhere.
Who cares about the numerous concerned remarks regarding your drowsy appearance? Dick simply laughs off their concerns. His kitten is just tired, he promises! After all, it’d be quite a hassle to have to explain to every person who stops for a photo that it's nothing more than the effects of the medication he's given you to ensure you remain placidly content and docile during cuddle sessions and neighbourhood walks.
Once Dick starts on your adorable little toe beans, there's no stopping him. He gushes incessantly about the cute contrast of pink and black on your little paws and how they're just perfect for the miniature cat-themed socks that Alfred has patiently taught him to make. He gleefully coos over your small digits, marveling at how perfectly they fit into the little socks. Aren’t you happy your big brother made them for you? Can’t you just purr this once, please? He won’t even get mad if you kick them off or tear them to shreds again!
He’s definitely the type to have an entire wardrobe filled with little outfits for you. A nice red bow tie to get you to look nice and handsome or a warm purple sweater for you to look pretty.
Dick's affection for you remains steadfast, even when you shift to your human form. However, in his mind, you'll always be his precious little kitten, and no amount of whining, hitting, or swearing can convince him otherwise. He's stubbornly determined to shower you with love and care, undeterred by any resistance you may offer. The world’s just too big for you, and he needs to protect you from it. So come sit on his lap and stop whining, the movie’s starting.
03
In stark contrast to Dick, Jason has a clear preference for your feline form, showing little interest in you when you appear as a human. He often ignores you entirely, showering you with love and attention only in your feline body.
It's a double-edged sword, this dynamic with Jason. On the one hand, you've discovered a way to make him leave you alone – simply appear in your human form, and he'll instantly lose interest. He'll glare, shake his head in distaste, and then storm out of the room, grumbling incoherently under his breath as he goes. Unfortunately, when Jason realises your tactic to avoid him, he'll barge into Tim's room unannounced, no matter the time of day or night. Tim, due to his habit of staying up late, will inevitably be awake, and Jason will insist that he make you transform back. Following his forceful tactic of making you transform back, Jason will quickly switch gears and act as though nothing untoward has happened. He'll enfold you in a tight hug and bury his face in your soft fur, nuzzling against you affectionately, completely unbothered by his previous behavior.
Given your penchant for exploring the outdoors, Jason often takes advantage of the darkness of the night to whisk you away. He's aware that you need to experience life beyond the confines of the Wayne estate's gardens, and he prefers to do it when the rest of the family is less likely to notice your absence. Or rather, more occupied with their nightly duties so they’re unable to stop him from taking you.
You’re still under complete lock and key, but at least you get to experience the night air every once in a while.
04
If I had to pick my favourite out of the ones you’ve written I’d go with Tim’s. It’s the one I agree with the most.
Tim likes to keep you sedated. Having you laid out nice and docile on his lap, desk, or of the many cat trees that litter the place, while he works away on the batcomputer.
He’s the most precocious, being particularly meticulous when it comes to your well-being, even the slightest sneeze prompting him to arrange a visit to the vet. Monthly veterinary checkups are non-negotiable, and he ensures that your health is consistently monitored. Saying that, he’ll never take you to a hospital with doctors that specialise in anything other than animals.
A sleek, high-tech collar encircles your neck, constantly transmitting your vital signs in real-time to Tim's phone. Additionally, a microchip planted in your body and trackers strategically installed on various parts of your anatomy ensure that they can monitor your location at all times ensuring that under no circumstances are able to escape.
Tim is the one who suggested and ultimately confirmed your declawing, dismissing your protests and tears as mere tantrums. Despite your pleas and emotional outburst, stating that it would render you disabled — equivalent to cutting off your fingers down to the knuckle — he remains cold and uncompromising. Your objections are disregarded, treating your fears as if you were a pet throwing a tantrum, denying you any agency in the matter. If you didn’t want this to happen, you wouldn’t have scratched them in the first place. It’s easier this way, really. They get to look after you in human form and there’ll be no more scratching up their arms or the furniture.
Initially, Dick supported your side, recognising your profound distress and desperation. However, after a conversation about how you would be completely reliant on him while in your human form, he changed his stance. He stopped giving the issue a moment's consideration, fully accepting Tim’s conclusion.
When it came to the decision, Jason and Bruce were in favor from the beginning. For Jason, it meant his new couch would remain unscathed, and prevented you from clawing at Bruce during business meetings while he held you snugly in his lap.
The sole member of the family fiercely opposed to the idea of declawing you was Damian.
Nevertheless, to Damian's dismay and your own, you'll be made to undergo the declawing against your will anyway. Despite his disagreement, he'll still be there to gently bandage up the raw nubs where your former fingers once were, and he'll lovingly pet away your tears and sobs. You were still his kitten, he’d coo. Just a slightly less fierce one.
05
I’d have to disagree with you here.
Bruce will undoubtedly make time for you, despite any disagreements you may have. You're a top priority in his life, and he'll ensure that you receive the attention and care you deserve.
The eldest Wayne will go to great lengths to accommodate you in his busy schedule. He'll happily reschedule meetings and carve out special time just for you. If there's a vital meeting he can't avoid, he'll bring you along, insisting on having you by his side.
You’re theirs, through and through.
Thanks for the ideas! Any and all asks are encouraged and appreciated.

Robbie Jennings x fem!reader
Summary: You have the most embarrassing crush on your brother's friend.
Genre: Fluff <3
Warnings: both Robbie and reader are minors (15/16), no warnings except a reminder of soul-crushing crushes we all had in middle school lol
~ hope you like this 🫀anon! ~
When Robbie invited you over to his mother's shop for a study session, you had almost declined.
He had work and you didn't want to bother him, but when he'd overheard you complaining to your friends about not understanding your math test, he'd still offered.
Afterall, in his words, "how could he let his friend's little sister fail a subject he can easily help her with?" and you were speechless. He'd left you in the hall with a wink and a familiar sinking in your stomach.
So you didn't decline and now you find yourself sitting on a stool beside him, your math book open, tapping your pencil on the paper absentmindedly, as Robbie checks out Lindsay Marlings's assortment of fruits.
"Are you tutoring now, Robbie?" Lindsay asks, her tone lightheartedly hostile as she leans her chin on her hand and he bags her apples. You try your hardest to focus on the numbers, ignoring how warm your cheeks have become. This feels humiliating.
Robbie hums, looking your way as he nods. "Math help. Y'know I'm good at it," he quips, smiling at Lindsay and hands her the bag. "See you Monday," he says, successfully ending the conversation.
Lindsay huffs but leaves anyway and then Robbie's attention is on you again. "How's it going?" he asks, looking over your shoulder as you do your homework. You shift, moving your pencil so he can see and hold your breath.
You want to impress him. Robbie's arm reaches over your shoulder as he points to an equation. "This one's wrong," he says calmly.
"It is?" you whisper, tensing up. God, this stupid crush is killing you.
Robbie nods and holds out his palm and you stare at it for a moment. His hands are as gorgeous as the rest of him. "Pencil?" he laughs, opening and closing his hand. You startle and hand him the pencil.
You watch as he changes up the equation and you realize this was a stupid idea. You can't concentrate on math when he's standing so close to you. Robbie hands you the pencil again after having corrected your equation and then looks at you. He pauses, opening his mouth to say something when the words die in his throat and he ends up just staring into your wide eyes. You blink.
Has his eyes always been this blue?
"Excuse me, love." You both hear the sweet voice of Mrs. Smith, your elderly neighbor and one of the shop's regulars. She's with her husband and she places her small basket of vegetables on the counter.
Robbie jumps, tearing his eyes from you. He quickly recovers and moves away from you. "Hi, Mrs. Smith," he grins and begins to help her. You turn to your notebook again, chewing on your lip.
"Hello, Miss Y/n," Mr. Smith tilts his cap as Mrs. Smith makes a comment on how Robbie looks more handsome every day she sees him. She almost reaches out to pinch his cheeks but stops herself at the last moment when you answer her husband.
"Hello, Mr. Smith," you wave shyly.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith exchange glances between you and Robbie and then Mrs. Smith nudges her husband. "What I wouldn't give to experience young love again, Tom," she laughs.
Robbie almost drops the squash he's packing up when he hears this as he clears his throat. His cheeks are dusted pink.
"Oh, we aren't—" you quickly explain.
Robbie interrupts you, "Here you go. That'll be six pounds."
Mr. Smith sends Robbie a knowing look but hands him the money in silence. Mrs. Smith giggles and links arms with her husband as he grabs the groceries. "Don't work yourselves too hard, loves," she says, looking at your notebook, and sends you a kind smile. You nod, a little stunned from the entire interaction.
After they leave, you finish your work in silence as Robbie counts the money.
* * *
"Well, this is me," you pause, "thanks," you say as Robbie hands you your backpack and you hold it near your knees. You're standing outside your gate, heels rocking nervously. Robbie looks just as nervous as he rubs his nape and looks around, sending you a lopsided grin.
"I hope I helped," he says.
"You did! Very much so!" you exclaim, a little too enthusiastic and you instantly want to crawl into a hole and disappear.
Robbie laughs, seemingly charmed. "Good."
He looks behind him and he almost looks like he wants to ask something but he doesn't. "Tell your bruv I say hi, yeah?" he says and then turns to leave.
Your mind acts on autopilot as you panic. You don't want him to leave! You grab his sleeve and then your words become stuck in your throat when he turns around and your eyes go round.
"Are you okay?" Robbie asks, eyebrows pinched with concern.
You nod and then the word vomit begins. "I- would you like to hang out outside of school sometime? I- I know this really yummy fish and chips place near the—" you pause, remembering the look Lindsay had given you and all your insecurities jump out. "Sorry, this is so stupid," you whisper, moving to pull away from him.
"Hey, wait." Robbie grabs your sleeve this time and tugs you closer. He steadies you with a hand on your arm. He cracks a smile, looking you over. "You're the first girl who's been the one to ask me out, y'know," he says.
"I didn't—" you try to defend but he shakes his head.
"I like it," Robbie reassures you. "You're really weird sometimes," he jokes but quickly adds, "but I like you."
You scrunch your nose a little at the insult but his hand on your cheek makes the comment disappear. "I like you," he repeats, "and I'd be an absolute git not to accept your date offer."
Your shoulders relax and Robbie grins.
"Name a time and place and I'm there."

Zuko has been with the gang for a while now and you've been able to teach him how to do most any chore. He can set up tents, bathe Appa and even dry clothes off without lighting them on fire (it happened a couple times tho). But the one thing he just can't get is cooking.
He stands beside you as you lower a pot over the fire gently, his eyebrows knitted. He watches as you angle it so there's no chance of it falling as it small bubbles appear; signaling its commence of boiling. You sit down on a flat stone and take out a small knife, gesturing a c'mere motion with the blade.
"Can you hand me the tomatoes?" He grabs them and passes them over, ears flushing when your hand brushes his.
"You're going to boil them?" You giggle and shake your head.
"No, this is for the broth and the beef. Everybody has been craving it but Aang is a vegetarian, remember?"
He nods and pops a squat next to you on a large rock. Your ankles touch and his toes flex. "You're making him something separate." You agreed with a hum and begin to slice the fruit over a bowl in your lap.
"That's nice of you." You glance up briefly and give him a sheepish grin. He finds it endearing.
As you focus your attention back to the task at hand, Zuko wonders what he should say next. Before he can really consider it, you toss a piece of tomato at Momo and ask, "Your uncle makes tea right?"
"Uh, yeah. Uncle loves tea."
"How come you haven't learned how to?"
He doesn't want to admit that he didn't pay attention when he should've, when he had time to notice how Iroh did it. "I wasn't taught."
"Do you want me to teach you?" You look up and pause your slicing. The bowl has a small stack of tomato piled inside that tumbles when you shake it.
"I'm not very good at uh.. making things." You snicker, remembering when he burned lettuce a couple weeks ago.
"Yeah, I noticed," You smile to let him know you're teasing and he returns it a little shyer. "I could, though. Teach you. You don't have to be good at it."
"What's the point of teaching me if I'm not good at it?"
"I like spending time with you." You shrug and reach for an avocado across him. Your arm is just too short and he takes the opportunity to grab it for you, turning his head so you don't see his blush. "And you'd get the hang of it, tea is like.. your birthright."
Zuko chuckles. He always thought his birthright was violence. He wonders if it still is. He doesn't say that. "Because Uncle owned a tea shop?"
"Yeah," You laugh, "And you can use your fire bending, yunno? But I'm not sure if you have the patience for it."
"Why's that?" Suddenly Sokka is next to him, holding a pile of sticks and asking you where you want them. You point next to the fire and notice the water jumping in the pot. Standing up, you motion for the broth ingredients and Zuko hands you the pre-mixed bowl. Sokka is quickly distracted by Toph demanding to know where Aang went and Zuko turns back to you.
The crackle of the fire comforts the atmosphere as the sun sets, giving your face an orange hue that dances dramatically from your chin to your nose. You tuck a piece of hair away and Zuko can see the way your eyes glitter in the soft glow, your pupils swallowing the color of their rims.
It's silent for a bit, Zuko simply watching as you stir the pot and occasionally call out for Sokka and Toph to stop arguing. You set down the ladle and pick up a bowl of assorted vegetables and fruits, passing it to Zuko.
"Can you find that bread from the village? I think it's in Katara's bag?" He disappears to rummage and returns holding a half-eaten loaf.
"Okay, that should be enough," You remark as you turn away from cooking and towards his returning figure. You make eye contact with him and your nose wrinkles in the moonlight as you smile, "Can you cut that in half and make a sandwich?"
He sits down and follows your instructions, first wiping the knife you'd used earlier before slipping it in the loaf and beginning to separate it. His dominant hand slices down as he keeps it steady in the other and as he gets to the end, he takes his chance to look at you.
Your feet are bare on the ground, a little dirty and as you shift from side to side, your heels lift enough he can see your bridges. A daffodil is stuck to the bottom of your left foot, staring at him before being engulfed in a step again. You move around the pot, pushing the ingredients stuck to the side back in the middle and the flower is left upside down on a rock.
His finger burns in pain and he notices a small cut. He had finished slicing the bread and had dug into his hand. Cursing, he sets aside your assignment and stands up holding his hand as blood flows slowly. You notice immediately and rush over. You bend down and rip a bit of your skirt, wrapping it around his hand and shushing him back down onto the rock again.
"It's not too deep, you should be okay." He nods, hissing as the fabric rubs the sensitive flesh. "It hurts?"
"Yeah." You press his hand towards you, checking it again and clutching it from the palm.
"You can go back to cooking." You look up at him confused and he continues, "It might burn."
"It's fine, it needs to marinate. You need my attention more."
The firelight covers the furious burning of his face, "Are you sure? It's a small cut."
Your expression is hard to see in the dark but the coy fluttering of your features is obvious enough. You're nervous, and a shade darker on your cheeks and oh, you're blushing too.
"I care about you." You murmur and it's a blessing he hears it.
"I- I care about you too," He offers, the urge to look away would be worse if you weren't already doing that. He watches the twitch of your nose as your smile takes your lips again. You meet his gaze and he realizes how close you are. He feels your hot breath on his face and leans in just a bit more. "You look really... really pretty."
Your eyes crinkle in the corners as your mouth spreads wider and reveals your teeth, dimples making his heart flutter as he confesses, "You're glowing. The- the fire makes you glow."
You digest his words with a gentle laugh covered by your hand. "Yeah," You pause and quirk your head to the side, "You do."
He wants to faint and of course he doesn't know what to say. You help him out again and suddenly your nose is brushing his. "You like me?"
He nods because he's not sure he can speak without squeaking.
"I like you too.." Your words are felt on his lips as you get even closer. Your eyes dart across his face, seemingly checking for affirmation before your mouth is on his and all the blood rushes to his head. His hand comes up to hold your head as he kisses you back. For a second, it's so amazing as you lick across his bottom lip until pain is shooting up his hand and he has to pull away.
Your hair had brushed his still open cut and he cradled his hand a little closer to himself as you re-examine it. "Sorry.."
Zuko looks at you like you're crazy, "Don't be sorry."
You glance up and away, still flustered.
"I've liked you for so long," His admission fills the night wind and you prompt him to continue with wide eyes. He's a little quieter as he finishes with, "Since Ba Sing Se."
He misses your voice dearly as he waits for your answer. He gets it in the form of giggles ticklish as butterflies. He watches you with curiosity until you say, "I was wrong, you are patient."
He laughs too now and you both shake beside the fire with hands holding bellies. The spurt of broth leaping out of the pot brings you back and you scramble up to stir it. Zuko watches as you step over the daffodil again and it flips upright, showing him that it was two, smushed so closely it looked like one. He looks up at you in admiration as you taste the stew and feels a surge of affection for whatever luck landed him at your side tonight.
"You were wrong too," His face contorts in confusion and you elaborate, "You're good at making things... you made me like you."
He's the luckiest guy in the fire nation. He goes to tell you but you speak first. "And I want to teach you how to make tea, but I think I should let Iroh. When we find him."
Zuko's left with a mouth hanging open and a heart stuck between missing his Uncle and loving you for all your kindness and thoughtful nature. He settles on both. "I don't know if he'll forgive me."
You make a strange face as you gaze at him over the open flame, it looks intense in the orange heat. "You don't give his love for you enough credit."
Then you're coming over and pecking him on the cheek, making him dizzy again. You bring your lips to his ear and whisper "I think he'll do anything if you let him teach you to make tea."
His smile is warm and flustered when you teasingly add, "I would, and I like you a little bit less than he does."

The morning sun painted the bedroom walls in soft hues of gold and amber as you stirred from your slumber, feeling the warmth of Matt's arms around you. His steady breathing and the gentle rise and fall of his chest indicated that he was still asleep. You smiled softly, relishing in the peacefulness of the moment before gently extricating yourself from his embrace.
Padding quietly to the kitchen, you set about preparing breakfast, the aroma of sizzling bacon and brewing coffee filling the air. Matt emerged from the bedroom, his hair tousled and a sleepy smile gracing his lips. He wrapped his arms around you from behind, pressing a kiss to your cheek.
"Morning, love," he murmured, his voice still heavy with sleep.
"Morning, sleepyhead," you replied, leaning back into his embrace as you flipped pancakes on the griddle.
Breakfast passed in a blur of laughter and stolen kisses, the two of you enjoying each other's company before the demands of the day took hold. After cleaning up the kitchen, you decided to tackle a DIY project you'd been meaning to start for weeks.
Matt proved to be surprisingly handy with a hammer and nails, his tall frame towering over you as he worked on assembling the bookshelf you'd purchased. You teased him about his newfound skills, earning a playful swat on the arm in response.
Several hours later, the bookshelf stood proudly in the corner of the living room, filled with books and mementos that held special meaning to both of you. You stepped back to admire your handiwork, a satisfied smile spreading across your face.
"Looks good, huh?" Matt said, wrapping his arms around you from behind.
"It looks perfect," you replied, leaning into his embrace. "Thank you for helping me."
"Anytime, babe," he said, pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
As the day progressed, you found yourselves engrossed in various activities, each moment becoming a cherished memory of your life together.
With a mischievous glint in his eyes, Matt suggested playing video games together. You chuckled at the competitive edge that always seemed to surface whenever gaming was involved. Sitting side by side on the couch, you navigated virtual worlds together, trading victories and defeats with good-natured banter. Whether you were battling side by side or facing off against each other, the laughter and camaraderie that filled the room made it a game worth playing.
After a heated round of gaming, you decided to take a break and venture into the kitchen to try out a new recipe together. Armed with an assortment of ingredients and a recipe pulled up on your phone, you embarked on a culinary adventure. Matt proved to be surprisingly adept with a chef's knife, his skilled hands slicing vegetables with ease as you worked together to create a delicious meal.
The kitchen was filled with laughter and the tantalizing aroma of spices as you chopped, stirred, and seasoned your way to culinary perfection. You stole playful kisses between stirring pots and tasting sauces, the warmth of the stove matching the warmth in your hearts as you shared this simple yet meaningful moment together.
Finally, the fruits of your labor were ready, and you set the table with care, the vibrant colors and enticing aromas of the meal a feast for the senses. Sitting down to eat, you savored each bite, relishing in the flavors and the shared experience of creating something beautiful together.
As the day drew to a close, you found yourselves curled up on the couch once more, a sense of contentment settling over you like a warm blanket. With his arm around you and your head resting on his chest, you watched the stars twinkle in the night sky outside the window, feeling grateful for the simple pleasures of life and the love that bound you together.

college au! chrysos heirs headcanons

- aglaea, tribios and cipher who move into a share-house slightly away from campus in their first year of university; despite not knowing each other at all
- aglaea, tribios and cipher who call their share-house the “chrysos heirs abode” after the late owner, kephale chrysos
- cipher who is on a track scholarship, but seems to barely scrape through every academic requirement needed from her
- cipher, who spends a lot of her time alone training, in the gym – a large portion of her friends are from international track meets
- tribios who intentionally makes more food than she needs to, leaving leftovers for aglaea when she comes home after her busy day, and for cipher after a long day of training
- cipher who finds comfort in aglaea’s and tribios’ company on friday love-island nights – often falling asleep cuddled up in either of their laps’
- aglaea who is political science and international relations dual major
- mydei, castorice and anaxa who move into the share house when aglaea, tribios and cipher are in their second year
- aglaea and anaxa who do not share a SINGLE similarity and seem to be at each other’s throats constantly
- taste in food? sweet and savoury. favourite movie genre? romance and mystery. sexuality? fem lesbian and gay twink.
- phainon and hyacine who move in the year after the second group
- aglaea who is phainon’s upperclassman, tutoring him in areas he needs improvement (she doesn’t say it out loud, but she really does enjoy the small moments like these with him – he is also one of the best learners she knows)
- aglaea, hyacine, anaxa and phainon who spend a lot of their nights studying at the share-house’s dining table
- cipher who carries every single one of them to their respective rooms (yes even phainon)
- hyacine who organises a night every week where they come together and make dinner
- the chrysos heirs who share their clothes (most commonly: anaxa with cipher and vice versa, hyacine with aglaea, and tribios with mydei)
- it’s mydei’s favourite thing of the week, he tries to shrug it off and make it seem like he doesn’t care all that much but he does – going out of his way to grab the groceries for it each week
- (one of his favourite dinner’s was when everyone was making pizza from scratch– he recalls the way tribios and anaxa carefully measured out the ingredients for the dough and the way aglaea and phainon had swiftly kneaded it with their hands. he recalls how castorice’s nimble fingers wrapped around his wrists gently when showing him how to cut the tomatoes evenly. mydeimos recalls how hyacine had laid out the toppings on the marble counter, giving personal input to cipher who was flicking through their shared netflix account)
- poor hyacine who walks in on phainon and mydei getting hot and heavy when they failed to hear her calls for breakfast
- aglaea who is like enrolled into so many curriculars with the okhema university that she is practically famous on campus – she is students council’s leader after all
- cipher who works part time at a local cafe and makes everyone’s orders at home with her barista skills
- mydei who walks around the house with his shirt off 99% of the time, which initially startles a flustered castorice and a slightly disgusted aglaea
- mydei who complains about his neck, head and hands being cold in the winter but still wanders the house shirtless?? (how does that even work)
- with the help of aglaea’s sewing skills, tribios’ knitting skills and anaxa’s careful fabric selection they all made mydei a matching set that included a scarf, beanie and gloves
- needless to say, he wore it for the whole of winter
- castorice who finds joy in planting flowers and various vegetables and fruits in the backyard – pouring the very essence of love into her work
- castorice who very proudly presents the assortment of berries she has grown in the backyard, with sparkling light in her eyes and a beaming smile
- phainon who surprises both her and the other chrysos heirs with a cake he made using said berries, much to castorice’s delight
- hyacine who, in her health sciences major, uses everyone’s body to revise human anatomy by pointing or poking at various parts of their body in random moments
- cipher asleep in her lap? she is muttering to herself. mydei chomping on some lucky charms for breakfast? she is poking at his humerus. tribios is just typing something on her phone? she says, “did you know the primary bone that touches your touchscreen is called the phalanges?”
- tribios who spend the first three years of uni crocheting this massive communal blanket for the living room, using the heirs’ favourite colors for its base
- anaxa whose one of many contributions to the share house is the three tubs of ice cream he buys for everyone each week
- one salted caramel, for aglaea, hyacine and cipher, one french vanilla for mydei and castorice and one strawberry for phainon, tribios and himself

hey hey! i adore your work and i know you get a lot of stanxeno/reader requests but….if you’re willing to and comfortable with the topic, could you write a stanxeno/fem reader fic about the reader being someone who struggles really hard with depression? maybe struggling with getting out of bed frequently as a focal point? lack of pleasure in doing things, self care, and motivation in general could be some other topics. if you’re not comfortable with this, i completely understand! thank you ❤️
Bold of you to assume I don't want to continue doing StanXeno x Reader stuff okay I'm in love with them
Based entirely on what I need when I get like this
xFem!Reader
"Ow-"
"Sorry, sorry. You have a knot back here."
Stanley runs the brush through your hair again, more careful this time. Once the knots are cleared and the brush slides through your hair with ease, he drops it onto the table and grabs a hair-tie.
"I'm braiding it today," He says with full confidence, though you're not sure he actually knows how to braid hair.
"Okay," You mumble. Stanley goes slowly, muttering curses whenever your hair slips from his fingers. He had the general movements down, but even without a mirror you could tell it was going to be a mess.
But Stanley liked doing it, so who were you to stop him? It made your life a little easier on days like this.
"You should spray water on it," Xeno's voice comes from somewhere nearby.
"Shut it, I've got this," Stanley says, not even looking over his shoulder at the other man. "I can do it."
The hair tie snaps when Stanley tries to wrap it around his poorly-done braid, pulling more curses from him when it makes you flinch.
"Sorry, baby," He says, grabbing another hair tie and quickly finishing your hair. He leans down to press a kiss the back of your neck before moving around the chair and pulling you to your feet.
You're marched into the living room, where Xeno was placing a plate filled with an assortment of little food items on the small coffee table.
"I made a few protein options," He says. "As well as some fruits and vegetables. It isn't much, but you need to eat something."
"I'm not hungry," You say, plopping onto the couch.
"I know you aren't, my love," Xeno says. "But you must eat anyway. You haven't had anything since last night, and it is passing noon now."
You stare, dead eyed, at the food in front of you. It looks good, and you knew Xeno was a good cook, but you didn't have the desire to eat. Just the idea of picking up the fork felt like a Sisyphean task.
As if reading your mind, Xeno kneels next to you, and picks up the fork himself.
"You don't have to feed me," You say, guilt creeping in.
"I know," He repeats, stabbing the fork into a piece of egg and passing it to your lips. "But you are struggling, and I want to help."
It's hard to swallow, your throat closing up as tears threaten your eyes.
You hated this. Hated being like this.
It had taken both of them just to get you out of bed an hour ago, and now Xeno was insisting to feed you out of concern that you wouldn't do it yourself.
Loving you could be such a burden. You wonder why they stay.
As Xeno presses bits of food into your mouth, Stanley moves furniture around. He steals pillows from your shared bed, pulls blankets from where they're stored, and carefully crafts a little fort for you in the small living area. Xeno fusses at him at least once, lecturing him on the stability, but Stanley waves him off.
"We do this all the time," He says. "I know how to make it."
All the time. It really was all the time, especially now that the world was turned to stone and you no longer had access to medication or real therapy. You really were burdensome, weren't you?
Xeno doesn't force you to clear the plate. Once he's satisfied enough with what you've managed to stomach, he cleans everything and sends you into the fort where Stanley was already waiting to wrap you in blankets to make a little you-shaped burrito.
"Too tight?" He asks after tucking you under the soft material. You shake your head, earning a pleased hum and short nod.
You're left to take a nap, while they busy themselves around your little home, staying with you instead of going out and doing their usual work within the colony.
Stanley nudges you awake after about an hour, pulling you from the fort to have some water and lay on the couch instead, your head in Xeno's lap and feet in Stanley's.
Xeno talks at you about whatever he's been working on recently, letting you look at the papers with all his notes and thoughts on them as he does. Stanley rubs his hands over your legs, massaging your muscles with careful fingers and occasionally chimes in as well.
They move you again after another while, this time sitting you at the table with a tiny plate of more food while they work together to clean up the fort from this morning.
It felt like such a waste, but if you dared to look at the clock Xeno had made, you'd see it was already getting to be evening. Time moved so weirdly when you were deep in the storm of your depression. Hours had felt like minutes, and minutes had felt like years.
At some point, you're stripped of the blanket you'd been wrapped in all day, and marched to the bathroom where Xeno carefully undoes your braid and brushes your hair back out while Stanley prepares a bath. It takes some doing, as the piping in the colony was still technically under development, but eventually your clothes are pulled off and you're dragged under a stream of warm water, though you really just stand there and let your mind swim in guilt at having to be so thoroughly mothered like this by your lovers.
You lose track of whose hands are whose when they run soap across your body and in your hair, their voices melding together in streams of idle chatter and whispered worries.
By the time you're cleaned, dried, and in fresh clothes, it's somehow time for dinner. Xeno makes more finger foods for you, and smaller meals for himself and Stanley so you don't feel left out.
"I'm sorry," You mumble, staring blankly at the plate in front of you.
"Whatever for, love?" Xeno asks.
"Being so hard to take care of."
"You're not hard," Stanley says without an ounce of hesitation. "And even if you were, it wouldn't matter."
"You shouldn't have to give up your whole day just because I can't get my shit together," You say, the built up guilt finally spilling out of you. "I feel like I'm nothing but an awful burden to you, anymore."
"Stanley and I have been at your side for long enough to understand that your brain's chemical imbalance hinders your ability to function normally without proper treatment, which we currently do not have access to," Xeno says.
"But-"
"No buts, little lady," Stanley says, raising a hand to silence you. If you were feeling more...yourself, you'd giggle at how his accent slips out on the word lady. "It's our job to take care of you when you don't feel good. Like you would if it was one of us."
You sigh, somehow deflating even more. Once the heavy fog lifted, you'd realize that they were right. That if it was one of them with your disorder, you'd give everything you had to keep them afloat.
You weren't a burden to them because they loved you, and that would never change.

☆ chinese takeaway ☆
Modern!au Aemond Targaryen x Reader

• • • • • • • • • • • • ✦ • • • • • • • • • • • •
Your bestie and flatmate Helaena proposes a banging evening plan: get her brothers over, get a chinese takeaway, and binge the Lord of the Rings. It also helps her second brother Aemond is pretty easy on the eyes and also loves Tolkien.
Word Count: 1.5k
Themes: fluuuuuufff (veeery OOC lol but i need some sweetness rn), content warning of cigarettes and drinking
• • • • • • • • • • • • ✦ • • • • • • • • • • • •
Living with Helaena Targaryen is an adventure in itself. She's a wonderful flatmate and best friend. You bonded pretty quickly with her when you both signed up for Valyrian classes at your university, Blackwater Uni, in King's Landing. Her quirky charm is infectious, and the flat you both share is filled with small terrariums and ethereal string lights that make everything feel like a dream. Every night, the pair of you cook together and look after Helaena's array of babies, even if the spiders make you a bit squeamish. You love her, you love her family too.
It’s a lazy Saturday morning after a cheeky pub trip the night before when Helaena bursts into your room with a bright smile, her platinum blonde hair shining in the sunlight streaming through the window.
“I have an idea!” she announces, plopping down on the bed beside you and nearly knocking your jewellery box Nyra got you from Lys off your bedside table.
“You have lots of those, careful not to hurt yourself,” you tease, setting aside the book you were pretending to read for your latest university essay.
“I think we should have a get-together here tonight. A family night! You, me, and my brothers. We could do a Lord of the Rings marathon!” she pokes your arm, wiggling her eyebrows. She knows your weaknesses to a tee.
The thought of hosting a cosy evening (with some extracurriculars) sounds delightful. You’ve always had a soft spot for her brothers, especially Aemond. There's something about his intense gaze and quiet demeanour that draws you in, and your mutual love for all things Tolkien only deepens that sweet connection.
“That sounds perfect,” you agree. “What do you need me to do?”
“Just be your wonderful self!” Helaena grins. “I’ll take care of snacks, and Aegon said he’d handle the food.” You raise your eyebrows. Sounds like this night was happening regardless of your opinion. You grab a pillow and thwack Helaena, who screams lightly and crumples onto the floor, laughing her ass off.
• • • • • • • • • • • • ✦ • • • • • • • • • • • •
As the day transitions into evening, the flat transforms into a snug haven. Soft fairy lights cast a warm glow, and the aroma of freshly popped popcorn fills the air. You and Helaena arrange an assortment of snacks on the coffee table, including gummy worms (Helaena’s favorite), chocolate-covered pretzels (your favourite) and a colourful array of fruits (only Daeron will touch them).
Aegon arrives first through the door, arms laden with bags of Chinese takeaway and closely followed by his blond brothers. His carefree grin is infectious as he sets the bags down and immediately begins sorting through the contents.
“Alright, listen up! I got everything. Chicken chow mein for me, sweet and sour pork for Daeron, Kung Pao chicken for Helaena, and Aemond, you get your usual, Szechuan beef.” He looks at you with a cheeky smile. “And for our lovely host, your favourite, vegetable dumplings and egg fried rice.”
You smile, touched by Aegon’s thoughtfulness. The last time you'd gotten Chinese was after Baela's birthday 3 months ago, and whilst you expected him to remember your chippy order, this was quite sweet. “You remembered.”
“Of course,” he winks, settling onto the couch with his carton of noodles.
Daeron dives right into his sweet and sour pork, chatting animatedly about his latest adventures at university. He's like a sweet younger brother to you, and you ruffle his hair when he tries to nick some of your dumplings.
Aemond's presence is a bit quieter but no less significant. He offers you a small smile, one that you return warmly, feeling your heart skip a beat.
"Hiya Aemond," you say. He nods, passing you his fortune cookie. He's not the biggest fan, you remember, quite touched he gave it to you and not Helaena, who huffs comically at her loss.
With everyone settled, the movie marathon begins. You and Aemond exchange knowing glances as the opening scenes of 'The Fellowship of the Ring' play. Both of you gaze quite longingly at The Shire, and you feel your heart stutter a little when Aemond glances at you when Arwen declares her love for Aragorn. The moment is broken by Aegon cracking open a Strongbow cider and tossing you a pre-mixed vodka soda can. You sigh lightly and settle in for the movie.
• • • • • • • • • • • • ✦ • • • • • • • • • • • •
As 'The Two Towers' progresses, Aegon sprawls across the couch, lazily consuming anyone's uneaten cold noodles, while Daeron animatedly discusses his favorite characters (Merry and Boromir) with Helaena, who favours Galadriel most of all.
"Imagine how useful the gift of prophecy would be," she dreams aloud. "I'd know all the answers on my entomology exams."
You find yourself nestled comfortably between Aemond and the armrest, stealing glances at him whenever Aragorn and Arwen share the screen. His focus is unwavering, and you find yourself asking him about his opinions of the plot, as if you both haven't watched a million times. It's worth it for the smile he gives you as he describes his love of Faramir. You argue Theoden's case with such passion that he laughs so loudly even Aegon is startled out of a snooze.
By the time 'The Return of the King' reaches its climactic battle hours later, Aegon is fast asleep, snoring lightly with an empty carton resting on his stomach. Daeron and Helaena aren’t far behind, having dozed off to the comfort of the couch, nestled under soft blankets.
That leaves just you and Aemond, the room silent save for the movie's soundtrack and the rhythmic breathing of the others.
You catch Aemond’s eye during the scene where Aragorn is crowned king, and Arwen finally steps forward. You like how Arwen and Aragorn's love is quiet almost, all words expressed through gazes. You feel your heart constrict a bit when Aemond holds your hand for the departure of Bilbo.
As the credits roll, Aemond stretches and stands, offering you a hand. “Care to step outside for some fresh air?” he suggests.
You nod, taking his hand as he leads you to the balcony. The night air is cool against your skin, and the city lights twinkle like distant stars. King's Landing is a great city to live in. You love it dearly.
Aemond pulls out a pack of cigarettes, offering you one. You accept, though you really only smoke for special occasions. You cringe remembering Jace's 18th at Dragonstone nightclub where you tried to chainsmoke. Thank Gods Aemond was there with water to help you.
The two of you stand in comfortable silence, the smoke curling up into the night sky.
“Thank you for tonight,” Aemond says softly, his gaze fixed on the horizon.
You smile, exhaling a puff of smoke. “I should be thanking you. I loved every minute.”
He turns to you, a hint of vulnerability in his expression. “You know, Aragorn and Arwen’s story always resonated with me. The idea of finding someone who sees you for who you truly are...”
His words hang in the air, heavy with meaning. You feel your heart flutter, warmth spreading through you like the gentle glow of a hearth.
“I know what you mean,” you reply, meeting his gaze. “It's about finding someone who understands the depths of your soul.” Big words for a young girl at uni, and usually you'd cringe at such dramatic speeches that are reserved for club toilets with the girls after too many tequila shots, but with Aemond, poetics seem right.
Aemond steps closer, the distance between you shrinking until it's almost nonexistent. The world around you fades, leaving only the two of you bathed in moonlight.
His voice is barely above a whisper. “I think I’ve found that person.”
Your breath catches, the world standing still. The sincerity in his eyes is undeniable, a reflection of your own heart laid bare.
In that moment, words are unnecessary. The connection you share speaks louder than anything you could say.
With a gentle touch, Aemond cups your face, his thumb brushing softly against your cheek. You lean into his touch, feeling the warmth of his hand against your skin.
And then, as if drawn together by an invisible force, his lips find yours in a kiss that’s both tender and profound. It’s a promise and a realization, a moment that feels like the culmination of every shared glance and whispered conversation over years of your friendship. His lips are warm and soft, and you feel perfect.
When you finally part, the world around you slowly comes back into focus, the sounds of the city distant and gentle. Aemond smiles, a rare and genuine smile that lights up his entire face.
“Let’s make this a tradition,” he suggests, his voice laced with hope. “Movie marathons, Chinese takeout, and us.”
You nod, your heart swelling with happiness. “I’d like that. I’d like that a lot.”
As you stand together on the balcony, the night stretches on, filled with endless possibilities and the promise of new beginnings. It’s a moment that feels both timeless and fleeting, a memory you’ll hold close for years to come.

chicken & candy

notes from poppy: i was looking at my (more like my husband's. i have like two things in there lol) spice cabinet and was like "hmm. wakatoshi probably wouldn't season his food." and now we're here.

WAKATOSHI doesn't say what he likes to do for stress relief.
And it's not that he necessarily lies when he's asked about his backyard garden or the puzzle he's currently building. He does do those things, but he considers those as hobbies. The truth is, he's scared of what kind of looks he'd get if he admitted he likes grocery shopping as a form of stress relief.
So he just doesn't say.
It's his little secret of Wednesday mornings being the most sacred time of the week to him - a quick half hour run and a scalding hot shower, and then it's off to the store. A blissful time picking out proteins and produce, surrounded by others just like him, trying to avoid any sort of human interaction unless absolutely necessary.
Or at least that's what it used to be.
Because with you, his new partner, tagging along right now, it's no longer zen shopping. No, now it’s quite the opposite. Usually you don’t accompany him during these trips, but he didn’t really have a choice this time around.
“You need snacks? For you?!” You had asked him a week ago, unable to believe that your boyfriend, who considered cottage cheese and fruit as an actual sweet treat, wanted your help in picking out snacks.
Your excitement, however, was short-lived. Wakatoshi explained quickly that he was to be partnering with Atsumu for a week long volleyball camp for a local primary school. It was already stressful enough trying to plan a curriculum for children that probably had no interest in the sport at all, so he just simply didn’t have the time to sort out what kind of snacks they liked best.
"If you show up with celery sticks, they're gonna gang up on you." You had teased him.
But he's had nightmares of faceless children chasing him down and chucking vegetables at his head ever since, so he isn't willing to risk it.
"Can we get this? Not for the kids, obviously, but for your house?"
Wakatoshi looks up from his grocery list to see you standing in front of him, hugging a bag of assorted candy that would easily take anyone a millennia to consume.
"No." He answers, turning his attention back to the paper list in his hand.
God help him. He regrets asking you to come along now. It was a nightmare trying to keep track of you in the grocery store earlier, always wandering off into a different section while he thought you were right behind him.
He doesn't know how he's going to do it now inside this wholesale warehouse. Honestly, babysitting Satori's twins is easier than keeping track of you. At least with them he can bribe them with dried apple pieces.
"But why not!?" You say, lifting the bag up with a huff and it teeters on the far end of the cart. He feels your steady gaze on him as he takes the ball-point pen from behind his ear down.
"Because we aren't here for candy." He says calmly, but the grip he has on the pen says otherwise as he scratches ‘oatmeal’ off of the list. (He wanted to get his tried and true plain, but you demanded he get the variety pack, and after a round of rock paper scissors, a cannister of good ol’ unflavored sits in the cart).
There's silence from you, but he'll take it. He'd rather have you be silent and close by than wander off again.
"Oh, my apologies for trying to bring fun into your diet. I'll put these back." You finally say, and you toss the massive bag back onto the pallet.
Are you being sarcastic right now? Are you actually mad? You don't usually give up this easily...
"Please, let us go get your chicken so you can eat it unseasoned like you always do. And don't forget to pick up your asparagus." You say, bowing low and motioning for him to go ahead of you.
Ah. So you are being sarcastic.
"Chicken and asparagus is balanced, and it provides me with--"
"OH MY GOD," You cut him off, clambering up onto the end of the ultra-wide cart and shaking it wildly, "Have you ever even had junk food!?"
Wakatoshi thinks back to when he was pulling an all nighter with Satori in college. It was very unlike him to not finish a paper weeks before it was due, but time had gotten away from him with volleyball practice.
Hence, how he had found himself shoving fistfuls of m&ms and potato chips into his mouth at 2 am in the common room, trying to finish his paper on Moby Dick, while Satori was being incredibly unhelpful across from him, doing his best Gordon Ramsey impression with an Easy Bake Oven someone had left in the dorm's kitchen.
"Once." Wakatoshi finally answers.
"ONCE!??" You shout incredulously, gripping the cart tighter and leaning hard into it.
Wakatoshi nervously glances at the family to his right, hoping they aren't staring at you two, but they are. Good god. You've even got the attention of the toddler who's got a plastic toy car in his mouth.
"You're telling me..." You say slowly, hopping down from the cart, "That you've only had junk food once."
He nods.
"Correct." He says, starting to push the cart down the aisle and away from the family that’s enthralled by your outburst.
"No wonder you're always so uptight." You say, doing your best to keep up with his strides, "What about caffeine?"
Wakatoshi then thinks back to his last training camp with the Black Jackals. Shoyo and Kotarou had toasted their energy drinks before they started, and then proceeded to be more of menaces than they already were on the court.
Shoyo forgot how to bump more than once, and Kotarou continuously was making the ball go out of bounds. And after witnessing embarrassment after embarrassment from them, Wakatoshi had come to the conclusion that energy drinks were surely an inhibitor. A poison for concentration and overall health in general.
"I drink green tea sometimes on the weekends." He says instead, not wanting to risk another outburst from you, and he turns the cart into the next aisle.
You jog ahead of him and hop in front of the cart, stopping him in his tracks.
"Not even soda?" You ask.
"At holiday parties in primary school, I had--"
"Are you FUCKING KIDDING ME!?" You yell, wrapping your hands around the end of the cart and shoving it back into him.
He doesn't budge.
Wakatoshi watches as you then whip your phone out of your back pocket and start mumbling to yourself, your thumbs moving with lightning-quick speed across the screen.
"What are you doing?" He asks.
"Making a grocery list for you." You say, still not looking up at him.
Wakatoshi's heart drops into his stomach as he's filled with dread over what the list looks like. Probably a ten year old's dream food list. There's no possible way he's going to survive this. His insides are going to deteriorate after two meals.
"Wait, hold on." You look up from your phone, "What do you do with the sweets that Satori gives you all the time?"
"I eat one and then I give the rest to the team."
The look you give him in response lets him know that 1.) this isn't the answer you wanted to hear, but 2.) somehow was exactly what you were expecting.
"Of course you do..." You mutter, shaking your head and going back to your phone.
He waits patiently for you to finish your list, but you're still muttering to yourself, typing away madly into your phone, so he figures he might as well get the rest of the shopping done.
It’s not until the pasta aisle that you finally speak again.
"Here." You say, handing him your phone.
He takes your phone and reads the list…
… And it's not at all what he was expecting.
"These are all spices." He says, handing your phone back to you.
"Yeah! Because I'd be a horrible partner if I let you go one more day eating unseasoned chicken!"
"I like the way it tastes." He responds simply.
You blink up at him, before turning back to your phone.
"What are you doing now?" He asks, unable to now hide the growing agitation in his voice.
"Texting Osamu.” You answer, “He probably has a bunch of cardboard set aside. You're gonna save a bunch of money if you eat that instead."
You just don't know when to let things go, do you?
Wakatoshi continues to push the cart faster down the aisle. Maybe if you find yourself out of breath, you’ll leave this be.
"Look! I even made it easy for you!" You say, keeping up with him perfectly and shoving your phone into his face, "These little columns right here! All you gotta do is follow them! You can put any of these on eggs for breakfast, and you can grill your chicken with these, and then if you put these on your veggies before you roast th—"
The cart comes to a halt and so do the both of you.
"If I pick out some things, will you stop with this?”
"YES." You shout at him, and he raises both eyebrows at you.
“Yes.” You repeat, much more calmer this time.
“Fine.” He sighs, “Lead the way.”
You practically skip out of the aisle as Wakatoshi trudges behind you, cart in tow.
When you finally stop in front of the spices, Wakatoshi just looks at row after row after row and then back at you.
“Go on!” You encourage him.
Wakatoshi reaches out for the salt and pepper set, but then pulls his hand back immediately.
This hesitancy from him is brand new to you. There’s never been a single time during a game that you’ve seen him unsure. It’s always been all in – for all the marbles - the confidence of someone who knew without a shadow of a doubt he was good and could beat you into the ground before you even realized what was happening.
Who would have known spices would make him fall to his knees?
You watch on as Wakatoshi reaches out again and snatches the salt and pepper shaker duo before tossing it into the cart with a huff. When he looks back up at you, expecting some sort of praise, his brow furrows when he’s instead met with reprimand. How dare you.
"Required seasonings don't count." You say, plucking the set from the cart and dropping it back into the pallet.
“Why do I need to season my food?” He asks, “I told you, I like it the way it is.”
"And I'm telling you that you will be thanking me when you start seasoning it. Now go on! Try again!”
He examines each box and jar as if they’re opponents, and you wonder what’s going through his head. The level of concentration he has right now is incredible. It’s almost as if the world has fallen away, and it’s only him and his immortal enemy: flavor.
He finally settles on two bottles – one that proclaims itself as the only poultry seasoning you’ll ever need, and one that you honestly don’t have the heart to tell him is a chili mix and will basically be useless to him.
It’s a start.
“Are you happy now?” He asks, his fingers wrapped around the cart handle in a death grip and he narrows his eyes at you.
“Very.” You smile up at him, and then turn on your heels, "Now let's go get you snacks that will make you the most popular boy at camp."
