She's everything to me 🫶🏻🫶🏻 She collects animal themed bandaids and notebooks, hunts for cool rocks on the school grounds during breaks, constantly is seen in the background lining things up perfectly or organizing them by color, and writes songs from journal entries she's made in the past about not feeling like a human because she's different in a bad way from everyone else. She has a hard time with change and an even harder time making friends because most other people can't follow her ways of thinking and get put off by the difference between her quiet shy masking state and the intense excited infodumping state she goes into when someone brings up a special interest. Every part of the anime that's narrated from her point of view is so raw and intimately relatable from an autistic view, there's absolutely no way there wasn't at least one member of the writing team that's autistic who designed her character to be autistic. Bruce carries around hair ties for Vance because he’s the kind of person that gets overstimulated and has a meltdown because of the overstimulation, but he’s becoming more overstimulated because his hair is itching and scratching his neck and it gets to the point where Vance ends up just flipping his hair upside down to get it away from his neck, so Bruce just starts carrying hair ties on his wrist whenever he goes out. With Vance or without he still takes a hair tie because it becomes a habit to stock up and put one on his wrist right before he leaves. Vance doesn’t really notice what Bruce is doing until his only way to become sort of grounded is by being near Bruce. He notices the hair ties on his wrist all the time and he notices that Bruce notices when he’s having a meltdown (especially since he isn’t the best at hiding it) and that’s why he hands Vance the hair tie in his wrist. Vance starts bringing bruces favourite chocolate everywhere after he realises that Bruce is bringing hair ties to help him

Projecting some of my own autistic traits onto Hizashi: has to eat his food in a clockwise order, starting with veggies first and ending on meats; cannot have curry over rice they have to be side by side so he can mix and match as required; can't be in the kitchen if certain foods [like raw fish] are being cooked because the smells make him nauseous; tries new foods ONLY if a friend orders it first so if he doesn't like it he knows it isn't being wasted; wears headphones for sensory reasons; can't work if he doesn't have some kind of ambient music playing in the back but this does mean he's spent 2 hours before trying to find the Perfect 4 Hour Ambience to fit his current mood. He does not know what mood that is until he finds the good ambience; his line in Vigi about having sensitive ears isn't just a joke he really is hypersensitive to noise; very bad habit of scratching his arms and neck when he's anxious or stressed; plays with his own hair a lot; chronic lip biter disease

I think that it's more common for Vance to have meltdowns than shut downs (which are usually presented through shouting and fighting) and if he starts getting an overload he likes to put headphones on and put music on one smidge louder than everything else (so it's just one sound) and play with a collection of marbles that Bruce gave him (if he can't play pinball)

Haru -

"He's really into the patterns of storytelling, and his goal in life is to be a "protagonist". Once he becomes an Appli Driver, he places a lot of his self-worth in being a protagonist and the role he fulfills (which, in my opinion, is a type of script-following) and he winds up in a bad place when he realizes him being a protagonist was built on a lie. He spends all of his free time reading & sometimes gets so invested in reading that he skips out on social activities (and lets his 2ft monster (Gatchmon) go trick-or-treating in broad daylight all on their own). He always has the same pair of goggles on his head but wears them maybe once. His buddy Appmon (digimon partners are often reflections of their human partners) is basically the personification of a search engine and will go on tangents about whatever they've looked up."

"Has special interests in ancient medicines and photography. Abstract thoughts and oblivious to social norms. Resists change (example: reacted negatively to the schools curry being unavailable since that is his possible safe food). Other characters notes him as being strange. Poor reasoning (example: Thinks it more efficient to just take supplements instead of eating). Ignores other in pursuit of his interests."

Akira Agarkar -

"A 25 year old man who works for a government agency named D.U.C.K., where flamboyant/eccentric people investigate aliens, and goes undercover as a highschooler to gain information about Haru; doing a poor job of trying to blend in. He is a quirky silly man and his best friend is a duck named Tapioca who he talks to. He also has a special interest in fishing and gets so excited by it that he sometimes yells "FIIIIIIISHH" in English when he reels them in. Bad puns upset him so much that he is physically incapacitated and lies on the floor. What else can I say, I love him."

"Can't tell when he's being tricked by other characters, and sees human connection as pointless because of how isolated he feels. Says that other see him as weird and that 'being difficult' is easier for him than acting like someone he isn't."

"His special interest is math. He uses math terms in regular conversations and calls people yoctograms/zeptograms which earned him monikers such as "math man" and "pi-face". Speaking of Pi, he once shouted 155 consecutive digits of it through a megaphone just because he could. He's so normal."

(Aizawa // Present Mic // Fat gum) Part 1 with students here! // MASTERLIST ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Content: Fluff?// Comfort?// Overwhelmed MC// Platonic relationships // Reader/MC is a student in Class 1-A // Reader/MC is autistic/stims. Here's part 2 to the previous request! I just picked a few heroes and teachers. I've also written these as platonic headcanons, with MC being a student. I apologize if these also seem repetitive, I'm really trying here T_T So to change them up I wrote them as mini scenarios/drabbles instead of headcanons. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aizawa Shota - Eraser Head Sitting across the living room couch in the dorm lounge, headphones over your ears, others could faintly hear music playing from them if they sat close enough or brushed by. Your a typical neutral face as you softly closed your eyes to listen to the notes and drum lines playing across your senses. Aizawa walked in, shuffling around getting ready for curfew checks that were due in the next few minutes. With your focus on the music, you struggled to realise that he had even opened the main door to the shared room you were in. This was it, your favourite part. You even fought the urge to fast forward to this one snippet of 30 seconds that seemed to hold your brain in a vice grip as it seemed to scratch every part of you. It started to bounce between each of your earmuffs and the music kicked in even more, without even thinking about it much it started as slightly swaying your head and rocking your body to the beat as you sat in your seat; to small happy hand flaps. No one else was in the room that you noticed from that point, and it's not like you hid your stims from anyone to many extents. You almost wanted to get up and jump, just to let out the energy…

“Evening, (name). You seem chipper this evening” He spoke, with his also monotone voice. You wanted to jump now, but for different reasons. “Oh, hi sensei- um yeah it's one of my favourite songs at the moment.” You explained lifting one ear of your headphones to hear the outside world better. “Don't worry,-” he continued as he started to walk towards the dorm bedrooms, “- I won't interrupt you anymore,” He stated as he started to turn the corner only to pop his head back around “-Oh and this stays between us,- if that was something you were worried about” He reassures as he finally walks off. 

You sat back down and repositioned the headphones and let out a small happy shriek and giggle to yourself.

Yamada Hizashi - Present Mic It was still only half way through the hour lesson of English class with Present mic, it wasn't even really a part of the hero curriculum, but they assured you it would be important if you ever did hero or support hero work overseas, or perhaps had to help tourists in the busy district of Tokyo. Except with everyone talking and practicing pronunciation, inside the slightly echo-ey classroom walls, the sound and atmosphere got overwhelming quickly. Your typical easy going and stoic nature was pushed aside and replaced with fidgety hands, it started with tapping the pen rather harshly against the desk. Then repeatedly cracking knuckles and humming to yourself, which has mostly gone unnoticed and covered by the room's echo of overlapping voices. It was unfortunate that it was then that your current teacher also had a voice quirk which he used to raise his voice loud enough to carry over the top of the current chatter, but it seemed all too much for you on top of the current situation. The room quieted down and everyone then turned back to their conversations at a quieter tone. Mic then waited a bit and slowly made his way around a couple groups of desks of your classmates, then to you. “Sorry for the noise kid-” he started as he sat on an empty desk next to yours. “Did the noise got too much? Is it better now?” He queried. “A little-” you continued to slowly rock in your desk chair. “-how did you know?” You asked back. “I may be loud, but I do notice the small, quiet stuff too, ya know?-” he muses, and leans back on his hands, “Plus you’re typically so…-” he hesitates, “- you’re fairly laid back and passive. If you get what I mean, I don't think I've ever seen you so clearly irradiated.” he explains, “If you have your headphones, you can put them on, if it helps, I wont mind-” He adds, “- or if you asked me for a toilet break, to get out and get some air, I won't stop you” he adds with a wink and walks off towards another cluster of classmates. 

Taishiro toyomitsu - Fat Gum Walking down the streets of downtown Tokyo during work studies became something you both loved and detested. You loved walking and chatting alongside your classmates, Kirishima and your upper class men Amajiki, and of course the man of the hour, Fat gum himself. You talked and asked amongst them easily and had a good relationship with all three of them, however they definitely described you often as: unique, interesting, open minded, introspective, ‘quirky’. And although it did not bug you, and you knew they all said it with absolute admiration for your character and personality that they all learnt to love, they would also call you; quieter, more neutral toned, - and not in the same way that Fat Gum noticed Amajiki was. But maybe that's why you got along, he always thought. Sometimes Fat gum felt like you repressed the way you expressed your emotions and reactions, especially while in the company with others. Although he would never say anything in front of others, he didn't want to push you too far, unlike he scared you off into hiding more. Like Suneater seemed to do in early days he was mentoring him. It was after patrol and winding down for a quiet night and he offered to take the three of you students to a ‘small hole in the wall’ restaurant nearby. After ordering a few different trays of assorted food, some you recognized as side dishes and snacks you loved and some you didn't feel too sure about, but as everyone started to dig in and share around different foods, you also ended up trying some new textures and tastes even after trying to stick to your ‘safe’ or ‘comfort’ dishes. It was when you were trying a particular seafood side dish and the texture got the better of you, and you scrunched your nose up and violently shook your head, “Mmmm, no. That's not fun” you explained trying to rid the texture from your mouth as soon as possible. Shaking and flapping your hands almost as if your body was trying to rid the bad reaction. Kiri chuckled softly, “I guess everyone has their dislikes, good on for trying something you weren’t too sure about” he smiled. “Yeah! I would say!-” Fat Gum chipped in, and started to laugh a bit “- I don't think I've ever seen you react so strongly to anything like that before” He added as you laughed back, “Yeah, I guess it just overwhelmed me more than I thought” You mused back. “You’re allowed to express yourself, whether you dislike something or enjoy something,-” Fat Gum adds speaking down to your level, “- and you’re allowed to in your own way” He added.
