Bad first impression: When A and B meet, A is in a bad mood. They're snappier than usual and make a rude remark / completely ignore B. B decides then and there that they hate A, causing A to hate B back.

Bad reputation: B has been told time and time again that A is bad news (e.g A is mean, shallow, manipulative, stuck up, etc.). When they meet A, they decide not to give A a chance and presume the worst of them.

Association: A associates B with a bad person / a bad time in their life. For example, B is friends/related to A's worst enemy or B had something to do with a bad experience that A had. B isn't directly responsible for anything bad in A's life, A just associated them with bad things and therefore dislikes them.

Conflicting Ideas: Even if they're on the same side, they may both have different ideas/opinions that they're unwilling to give up.

Misunderstanding: Very simple. A believes that B wronged them in some way or that B is a bad person when, in reality, B did nothing wrong.

Jealousy: It's a vicious force, whether it's for something physical, something emotional, or anything else. One of them might have something that the other one wants. Your character might be jealous that the other one has a relationship opportunities, acceptance, etc.

ppl are too quick to point to laios' disability as the reason his friends think he's a freak sometimes. so many instances of laios getting yelled at are, in my eyes, a case of "this guy had to emotionally mature very early in order to be there for his little sister" combined with "much older friends who never had to learn to manage their own emotions to the same degree"

a lot of the time he's right about needing to be more direct/deal with things in a way that may seem scary/needing to put your gut reaction aside. he tries not to make his friends uncomfortable and he puts up with a lot because he's trying to keep the peace, but he also pushes the others out of their comfort zones purposefully to try to get them to think more constructively. everyone else in the party is prone to acting on their gut instincts and avoiding uncomfortable situations even when facing them head-on is very much necessary. part of what makes laios such a great leader is the fact that he knows from experience how to put his own feelings aside to help someone else grow.

yes, he does make a lot of social blunders by accident and he does struggle to connect with others, but not all of his positive influence on others is accidental or "despite" making people uncomfortable. a lot of the time, I think it's clear he knows exactly what he's doing and he's trying to help the people around him process emotions in a healthy way as they all go through some truly harrowing shit. all the main characters support each other as well as they can with their unique emotional skillsets. laios' skillset just happens to be "gently talk child into eating her vegetables"

   David is trying not to freak out. He’s trying not to panic but it’s so hard. He can feel it climbing up his gullet, feel it clawing at the back of his brain. The main cause being he doesn’t remember how he got here. Here, inside Dazzler’s penthouse which he apparently set alight. He tries to stay standing tall, tries to seem in control but her horror, her singed wig and clothing, the smoke in the air and crackling of small fires, all of it compounding with his fear, his guilt. It’s making his head pound, making his breath come in short gasps.

   “I … I-I’m sorry,” he finally manages to murmur. David shrinks in on himself, making his lanky form as small as he can go. Shoulders hunch, one hand grips the opposite bicep, and his nails dig into his skin. “I didn’t … I didn’t mean to … I don’t even know h- Fuck, fuck!”

   Eyes dart away from Alison, his gaze no longer seeing the room around him. Eyes shift as if he’s watching something unseen. David searches his memories, looking for the last thing he remembers before whichever personality took over. It’s fractured, uncertain, but he remembers the lab beneath Xavier’s mansion. He remembers Dr Nemesis and his father talking about treatments. He remembers a needle; one meant to put him under. Then he remembers the desperate need to escape. One of his alters gave him that escape but the pit in his gut tells him it wasn’t one of the good ones.

So I finally finished the game last night and it absolutely wrecked me :') the Chapter House scene in act 3 left a huge impression on me and since I couldn't find much on the deeper meanings of the murals Andreas drew, I tried to analyze the symbolism and what they each represent :) I'm not an expert by any means so if anyone has more insight on something I haven't mentioned please feel more than free to add your own thoughts, I'd love to see them

jason took a minute to figure out what a marshmallow was. upon discovering, he ate it raw, much to leo's disgust and horror. he amended this by setting one on fire with his hands and shoving the burnt marshmallow at jason. this very quickly became a sticky mess. they were put on chore duty for accidentally starting a food fight while trying to get the marshmallow off.

they debated for a solid hour and a half whether fireflies were called lightning bugs or fireflies. the other demigods have 'nam style war flashbacks when jason points out a roly poly on the sidewalk and leo responds "no, thats a doodle bug." his region of texas didn't even call them doodle bugs. he was just being a prick for entertainment. this also occurs with otterpops.

youve heard the saying familiarity breeds indifference. no. everyone swears that they get more publicly affectionate and adoring to each other by the DAY. it started small, like leo hopping tables to sit with jason cause he was stuck alone (much to jason's protest, because RULES, leo.) and eventually evolved into leo spending his time following jason's every step. jason paces a lot so leo is always like two steps behind him while ranting about something neither of them really understand. jason is listening to leo more than leo is listening to himself.

they both sit in and wait for the other to be done with work. jason keeps quiet. leo will talk anyways, whether it be him working on a project and jason sitting near him in bunker nine, or jason studying and leo sitting against his chair.

speaking of studying, i have a hc that jason never learned much about math in CJ. he knew basic math up to like, sixth grade level, but no where near the level he needed to actually go to school with his age group. leo spends a day with him teaching him more complex concepts like pi, algebra, and imaginary numbers. leo falls asleep first.

jason is a massive hypocrite and tells leo to sleep when he doesn't himself. leo has made a game of dragging jason to bed with him whenever he tells him that he should sleep. jason thinks he engineered the game and he succeeded in making leo sleep. leo knows the game, and that jason thinks he made it because hes not dumb, but he sleeps with jason anyways because it helps the nightmares. plus, jasons always there for him, so he's there for jason.

peter thinks that the Avengers have it all together because they're his teachers and they're constantly telling him to use his brain but it's really because they, for the first time, saw their own "fuck it we ball" mentality in a teenager, and thought "oh my god maybe that is like... super dangerous." like when a parent was younger and they partied a lot and sometimes got into dangerous situations and thought "this is normal" until they had a kid and they quickly realized "oh that's why my mom was insane."
