the house has, erhm, potential for those who likes to diy (according to the ad). it wasn't much and it had cost maisie almost all of her money, but she was determined to make it her own. maisie had loved tartosa ever since the first time she went here on vacation with her mom and sibling, and now she owns a house on a little island.

although her jewelry were becoming quite popular on plopsy, maise knew she needed more money to fix the house up, so she got a job as a gardener. with a steady income, maisie started repairing and decorating the house.

And in return, he respects her a lot more than Jack, even warning her to get out of this mess

Tbh this scene alone where he explains his own illness is kind of why Renfield is my favorite character.  It’s such a fascinating, tragic headspace.

Starting off this blog by listing the things I would change about Rey if I was given the chance to rewrite the sequels.

Is not fluent in Basic in the first film. She's an outer rim nobody, a poly-linguist, and knows her way around the streets, but just doesn't know Basic. As the trilogy progresses, it becomes clear she is being taught basic, and becomes better at speaking and understanding it, but there is still reasonable disconnect.

Similarly, she doesn't really know the First Order or anything else going on in the Galaxy. Her lack of understanding of Basic means she doesn't pick up on any news being spread unless its directly told to her by a friend or whatever. She sees change on Jakku, but has no idea about the scale of whats happening.

When she runs into BB-8, shes fully on board with selling him, and has to be pried away from the droid or else shes hellbent on getting the valuable parts from him. As her living situation becomes more stable with the Rebellion, she gets used to him, but it never feels like there is anything more then basic tolerance from either of them.

In the same vein as wanting to sell BB-8, she has the general mentality that it is every man for themselves. She hates relying on others, hates getting help, and hates that people would even assume she needs/wants help. When things go downhill, shes the first to run.

Doesn't consider past or future, is only focused on what can be done for her survival in the present-day. She doesn't really feel like becoming a Jedi right now, so why should she think about it any longer?

Her Jedi abilities are pretty obvious to people who know what the Jedi were, or at least have been around Luke, but to Rey herself? She has no clue. She thinks she's the luckiest person alive. No one on Jakku cared so she never brings it up.

Probably only joined the Rebellion because they swooped her up (either because they saw her abilities, or because she was just THAT set on BB-8). She isn't a fan of helping others, its hard enough taking care of herself, and it takes a long time before she even considers it. In fact, she probably only joined because she saw what the people like her were experiencing. Starving citizens who had done nothing wrong, prisoners who had clearly been abused, abandoned children whose parents left them behind so they could get away (eh, ehh? sounds familiar).

Speaking of Rey's parents, I'm tossing the whole Palpatine thing. It could be done well with the right people, but that doesn't include me. I'm personally a fan of Rey's parents actually being nobodies who sold her for money or left her because it was too much work to care for her.

She knows how miserable life was before she found a way to keep herself afloat. She doesn't think she could live with herself letting these people suffer without a choice... And she finally begins to understand the rebels doing what they do. She could care less about the political aspects of it all, all Rey wants is to prevent more people from going through what she did.

TBH I don't know how Rey fits into the whole Jedi thing, I like the idea of her being force-sensitive, I just don't see her (with these changes applied) as someone who would want to be part of a higher order. But, I do know that her lightsaber is not Luke's, that it is still a hand-me-down of sorts but from an era a hundred or so years ago, long before the Skywalkers started causing trouble. Its age shows in its appearance and form, and it is absolutely a fixer-upper, but so is Rey.

In general I want Rey to go through more of an emotional arc that's disconnected from other characters like Luke, Vader, and Kylo. Don't get me wrong I'm a Reylo and I WILL make it work, but I do believe Rey should grow on her own and not just be a function for others to grow. Thus, I strip her of the parts that made her inherently related to the Skywalker story, such as her ancestry and the saber, and gave her something new to work with.

Property abandoned for decades, owner unresponsive and living out of state.

What should I do? The property value is super cheap now, in total its value is $13,000. It's a huge piece of land. In my development that one plot is twice as large as the rest.

There's an old laminated for sale sign on a tree in the yard. I called the number and immediately got voicemail. I left a message expressing my interest in the property as a nice fixer upper. It's been broken into a few times (by me as a kid too) and there's BB holes in the windows. The whole inside is coated in decades of dust. No one has lived there in decades, let alone even visit the property.

I feel like it's my only chance at affording a house, and I could fix it up over time. Where I live right now the rent is cheap cause I'm renting from family, so I could afford to keep living in comfort while I make that place livable.

I searched the property on our county website and found the owner, and the number is still the same. That's how I found out they moved out of state well over 20 years ago. Is there anything I can do if the owner never responds? I really want to try and get this house.

I can't use adverse possession because my neighbors are nosey and would probably call the police on me for getting inside. And also I have kids, so they can't live there.

Although maybe I can pretend I live there by parking my car there and working on the property, while I still live in a clean danger free environment.

My husband also mentioned it would probably take thousands of dollars just to make the house livable since it's been abandoned for so long. Like plumbing, electric, sewage etc.

Smoking the last of the weed beside your armchair one night, just you and him, in your apartment's balcony.

It's cold he thinks, so he lends you his jacket that was around him and gives it to you, once you put it on you lean onto him.

Satoru hates you, he hates you because he can't find the right words to describe you, to describe how great you are to him, how you're the light for him and he's your firefly. You attract him like a nice warm house on a cold winter day. Satoru hates how you have that effect on him, how he looks at you like you're the stars, and he's the person wishing to see them up close.

Maybe it was for the better, you knew that this relationship was failing, you knew that if either one of you were to stay together then it wouldn't work out. Yet you tried to fix it, tried to make it work. But in the end, this wasn't your fault, no, it never was your fault. You were just trying to fix the already broken relationship. He was the one to blame, the one who couldn't put effort in the relationship, effort in communicating with you, he didn't put effort in anything. Maybe that's why he couldn't save Suguru, why he couldn't save your relationship. Satoru was never the one to have been committed to a relationship, yet you were the one that made him committed. Satoru Gojo was put on a pedestal just for being the strongest, he got what he wanted, he wanted you.

Yet he lost you.

And he knows he could get anyone he wanted, and he has. After the break up (can he call it that? were you two even a thing?) he started talking to people, dating them for a little while and then realize that they aren't you. He would try to explain all the little inside jokes you two had, all the stuff you found funny and the stuff you liked. Yet they never understood, so he broke up with them. Because they were you, he couldn't make a clone of you.

He really misses you, but he knows he's not the fixer upper, he's the villain (so he says).

And after all this time of thinking of the little things you two had, the good stuff of your relationship, he realized that while over thinking about the little things too much made him realize that all the good things left him. (You, Suguru, Haibara, Riko and others.) And now he can't wake up in your arms again.

Honestly? It’s a bit of a fixer upper but it’s a bad home. It’s the dream of every white family in a horror movie

They are doing EVERYTHING to convince this teenage girl that moving here was the right thing to do. It’s gonna FIX everything? Girl. Are the parents doing this to avoid getting divorced?? The obvious solution is to pack up your whole life and move to a farm in the middle of no where

But, uh, she just offered him a live rat which she then…you know that scene with Gollum and, well, I can’t remember if it was a fish or a rabbit, but she too likes them raw and wriggling

   IT HAD BEEN ANOTHER BUSY but all the same productive day at HAMMERHEAD GARAGE. With the day going on by-- nah, to be more exact-- rolling on by the like the laziest lil tumbleweed-- with how SWELTERINGLY HOT the season tended to get around this time of the year. Still, that sort of thing wasn’t enough to deter this peppy little snow child. As Itsuki had made it clear that she had wanted to do her part, upon being taken in and cared for by Cindy and her pa. 

   To repay them in whatever way she could, even if that was through HUNTING itself. For seeing as she didn’t necessarily have a GREY THUMB and wouldn’t have been of much help being the sis’ assistant, so had Itsuki decided to jump right at the opportunity, when the sis had mentioned a few jobs that she was just about to hand over to her usual contacts. Something that the sis herself had not at all expected-- until she was reminded that this lost lil girl ain’t no oridinary lost lil’ girl.

   And before they knew it, so had the little one begun taking on one job after another (Though Cindy herself had made certain to only assigns ones that were never too far off and of course, never too dangerous). As she went on off to retrieve whatever item that they so desired, with very little to no complaints. CLOBBERING whatever enemies needed to be clobbered, if so needed. Most of the time simply returning with an exhausted but TRIUMPHANT smile on her face, as she handed the QUEST ITEM (Hehe) over to the mechanic herself. Even offering a FLEX of her noodle arms to quickly assure her then, that she was still very much FINE AND DANDY... before quickly hobbling on off to to lie FACE DOWN on the couch in the back room for a quick snooze.

   But this time round, Itsuki couldn’t help but find herself being instantly REJUVENATED at the other’s offer. Happy to see that the successful retrieval would earn her such a wonderful reward! Easily enough returning the other’s sudden, crushing embrace, as a resounding cheer left her in a bubbly squeak. For it was an absolutely tantalising premise, and certainly the perfect way to end this very day. As she could already imagine the COLD SWEETNESS upon her very tongue, mmm-MMM! “Ohmahgawsh... it’s lahk ya read m’mind or somethin’, sis!” Tried as hard as she could not to end up being DEAD WEIGHT on the poor sis’ shoulders and back, Itsuki’s tired form would melt down upon the other like conked off hog. Resting her chin upon the other’s shoulder then, as she cast the other’s a sideways grin, “Can we git da biggest one, please, sis? Ah promise ah won’t git a tummy ache!”

new girl au rants cuz im weak n stupid

okay! so yk that apartment schmidt moved into across the hall? thats jules, kat, maddy and cassies apartment now! and the loft is taken over by our lovelies—lexi, rue, fez & ash.

i want lexi to be a struggling actor, going to college for fine arts, she’ll have this part time job working as a teachers assistant, i think. might change that. i want her to move into the apartment the same way jess did, except she’s gonna have rue with her instead of being alone and just going through a breakup. maybe i’ll have her go through a breakup? just for drama!

rue works from home, a writer, maybe? im not sure for her yet. in this universe they don’t know fez or ash or anyone else really, just grew up with each other, moved to LA together (probably bc suze & leslie felt a lot more comfortable with forever anxious and paranoid always on the verge of a breakdown lexi & former drug addict rue to be together, and also cuz theyr besties!) for college and never ended up moving back. cassie also followed for a ‘fresh start’ and met jules & kat & maddy n all of them. mutual friend & resident party animal BB comes by once n a while to deposit booze & trash the place with a banger before disappearing for another few weeks or days and then does it again, like a boss bitch.

fez & ash will run their business outta the loft, except for the fact that fez is gone a lot at night for parties and shit, usually leaving the teenage angst ash alone with lexi and rue (mostly lexi, bc rue likes to tag along with fez—and lexi trusts her now, enough not to follow.) and like. lexi makes them watch fixer upper and shit and ash is forever pissed he misses the walking dead reruns bc she wanted to watch houses get ransacked and slapped with a pretty stick.

grandma marie takes the spare bedroom in the back. they have a list of contacts in the fridge fez says to ‘give a call, hit em’ up’ if they’re ever in a bind or some kind of trouble. fez never, ever brings back work to the loft bc ‘its not fair to them, they jus’ need a place to stay—‘ and the brothers are slowy weaning off the drug dealing scene, anyway. hence the need for roommates. i want fez to work at a bar, like nick, obvi.

At some point i want to follow the fake dating trope—yk, they get invited to a wedding and lexi needs a date cuz she doesn’t want to look stupid and rue is going with jules so she enlists new bestie & sort of crush fez to take her in his fancy lil caddy and snazzy suit like the darling he is! maybe i’ll make the wedding cassies? she’s sort of cece in this situation, anyway. i think it’llbe funny if like at some point suze has to crash at the loft for the wedding and she makes everything hella awkward and ash is hovering in the background watching lexi argue with her ma like 😶‍🌫️

i also think it woukd be fun to have them play true american? but like instead of the boys teaching them its lexi and rue inviting all the girls over and teaching fez & ash the game they made up when they were teens. i think they’ll be in their mid twenties, 24-26–ish, so ash’ll literally be twenty one but for the sake of the teenage angst get up he’s sixteen going on seventeen! leave me alone! Ash does go to highschool, only bc i think its funny that lexi gets to be his teacher’s assistant and she like reports back to fez the drama ash has going around at school.

i’ll have faye come stay with them around the time lexi tries to get in the dating scene and rue is like!!! bitcch!!!fez!!! for some drama and stuff, but they end up being besties dw abt it. lexi does get a little heartbroken doe cuz she rly likes fez but doesn’t wanna intrude? also fez forgets to tell them that faye has a mf bf, so rue stomps in his room LIVID and is liek YOU LED HE RON MFFCKER—and hes like. wtf r u talking abt….

also i want lexi to get to put on a play about her teenage years sometime during this period too, except this time fez gets to come & custers a dead bitch. i think i am going to follow some canon episodes of ng just bc they have such good ones that would fit the euphoria context—(jules & rue run off to mexico and rue gets arrested for stealing a wrist band off a kid and running from the security staff, jules drives home and has to wrangle all rue’s roomates into helping get her out, etc,) & i jus love them sm. so

This may be a dumb question, but in the Chris piece when he’s back at home and blaming himself for Branch’s death, you said that Jake was able to buy the house with Nat’s blood money from WRU. What do you mean by that? Did some die and was she able to get compensation?

It's a reference to Jake finding out from the WRU handler who interrogated him during the Safehouse Raid miniseries that Nat used to work for WRU for years before she had a change of heart and started trying to help/rescue BBs. Essentially, she still has a bunch of savings that came directly from her time there and Jake calls it her "blood money".

She bought him a ramshackle fixer-upper using that savings money to start his own shelter. Jake still has some resentment against her for lying to him for so long and making him find out like that.

They arrived from many places around the world, and yet, they all seemed to know how to get to the village. Those from other nations found funds and tickets to planes waiting for them, as well as all information they needed to get to that place. The ones already in that continent traveling on foot, by surprisingly convenient rides, by rail, etc., all the same, to find themselves on a wide, easily traversed, path into the forests. The strange thing is, the only ones that seemed to be able to even see the path were the children, some very young, some older, carrying eggs or young dragons with them.

The village was rustic looking and the people there seemed not only unconcerned at seeing so many that were still quite young entering the village, but any time someone asked where they were supposed to go, pointed to a road that lead to a large building that looked like a large, old-fashioned, boarding school. They would finally get answers to where they were going, who the dragons were, and learn their destinies.

It had started as a heap on the brink of becoming condemned. Once, it had been a boarding school that promised a prestigious education for the mining town's social upper-class. It would, the builder promised, bring new business and prosperity. That dream died. Nobody came for a comprehensive education from kindergarten to college, with all the facilities one could want.

It was a landmark. The local kids went in its halls and spoke the names on the carved statues as a dare. Lee managed to buy it for a dollar at an estate auction. Her dragon, Elation, was already hunting the rats that had taken over the gloomy corners. It was a fixer-upper, but thanks to Uncle, she wasn't afraid of hard work.

She called herself Lee Draconis, now. And as it happened, her identity was part of an ongoing investigation since Uncle had no records of her birth. She was old enough to be naturalised regardless of her point of origin and had new paperwork to match her new life. An emancipated minor with an actual dragon by her side seemed to get a lot granted to them.
