You don't know what time it is.
You didn't dare to move to look at the clock, either. The only thing that mattered was the sleeping figure beside you.
You couldn't even scream after waking up. You've awoken with a panic that left you paralyzed. But the moment your eyes fell on Saturo, you seemed to be frozen on the spot.
Ever since then, you didn't move.
Simply looking at him.
Untill now, you could not push yourself to touch him. Too big the fear that he was just a fragment of your wishful imagination.
He was facing you, his chest rising and falling.
You took a deep breath, let a shaky one out, and somehow found the courage to lightly touch Saturo's face.
You almost choked on the sob that threatened to come out.
He was real.
Saturo was home. He was alive and well…
You turned to lay on your back, trying to gain composter.
You didn't want to wake him. It was the most sleep he got in weeks.
Your vision filled with tears again. Fealing your panic rise just thinking about your dream again. You could feel yourself trembling, the weight of it all hitting you again and again.
Saturo lying on the ground, his waist cut in half as his legs remained standing, and his left arm cut as he coughed up blood.
"I-I'm so… sorry…"
Fuck… it all felt too real.
"Baby?" Saturo's hand gently pulled you out of your trance.
You couldn't hold it in anymore. Everything you tried to suppress bubbled up the surface the second you saw those Azure eyes.
He pulled you in his embrace. "Shhh, it's okay, beautiful. I'm here…" He slowly made you sit with him on the bed. You cling to him like a lifeline.
"It was just a dream, love. I'm here- I'll always be with you."
Your cries of desperation and grief did not subside, and Saturo could do nothing more than protectively hold you against his chest and let you cry.
He never let go the entire time you were crying on his shoulder. He occasionally kissed the top of your head and whispered sweet nothings into your ear to comfort you while stroking your hair.
Saturo knew exactly why you were in the state you're currently in. It was all still fresh in your mind.
Him being sealed, Megumi being possessed by Sukuna, Saturo getting freed, Sukuna using Megumis's body to fight him, eventually killing him, and Saturo miraculously coming back to life, saving Megumi and somehow ending Sukuna.
It was all too much; he couldn't blame you.
To be honest, he believes that it's all his fault really. If he just hadn't fallen for that trap... maybe things would have gone differently.
"I'm sorry for scaring you like that." he whispered. Trying his best to comfort you was all he could do. He felt so helpless.
Saturo didn't know how much time passed until you somewhat calmed down. "I- I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you." he shook his head slightly. Of course, these have to be your first words to him.
Always putting everyone else before you. Even when you're the one needing to be comforted.
"Nonsense. Next time, wake me up, Baby." You just nodded your head. And Saturo did his best to brush your reminding tears away.
He would hold you for as long as you need.
"You don't know how scared I was..." You hated how fragile your voice was, how weak it sounded.
"You can't leave me like that 'toru… I need you. I need you here, with me." not exactly knowing what to say, Saturo leans forward and warily presses his lips to the crown of your head. He still didn't let go.
He couldn't help but tear up, too. It wasn't easy for him. Seeing you suffer like this because of him. You, Tsumiki, Megumi, and many more had to endure all this because of him.
Then he leans down to give you a kiss on your lips. His eyes closed, hoping to give you every last drop of his sympathy. Hoping to project everything he could not bring himself to say with a kiss.
You can feel everything he tries to communicate.
You are not alone. I am here, and I am with you. I'm glad to be here. I'm sorry you had to go through all of this because of me. Megumi will be okay. Tsumiki too. We will be okay. I'm sorry...
When he pulls away, his thumb is stroking your cheek, his eyes full of emotion, but the only thing he can form into words is, "I love you so much."
But you understand him perfectly. Every hidden meaning and feeling.
And for the first time in a while, you believe it: We will be okay.

the thing about larys strong is that i think he's been lonely his entire life, lonelier than even he realised/admitted to himself. he craves connection, someone to see him for who he is. and that's what's been guiding most of his actions throught the entire time we've known him.
when he saw alicent being unheard and unseen, he tried to form a connection with her as he saw himself in her (through manipulations of course, but his intention there when saying "i could be your ally" were sincere). but she rejected him (by refusing to see him as a man, by being horrified at his true self (the harrenhal fire), etc) and thus he grew to resent her and want to control her/humiliate her like she "humiliated him", probably thinking it was enough because of the power she gave him.
but then viserys died and alicent's power died with him.
spoilers for season 2 of house of the dragon below the cut
i think his "love" for her... changed or was put on the back of his mind after 2x04, especially after he sees the moon tea and she's in pain. when he asks her about criston, his reaction to her words is as if he is confused, as if he's recalculating what he thought of her because he's seeing her in a whole new light.
and maybe he is seeing her truly for the first time ever.
he said "you and i are the same", was always listening in on her conversations to gather information, maybe even convincing himself by doing so that she truly was like him. but, i think that, when larys says "you have not been yourself" is his way of saying "who are you? are you who i've always thought you were or someone i do not know?" and has to change his view of her, of what he convienced himself he saw in her.
maybe he sees that he's been living in a lie made of his own words.
so, when the council scene happens, he pities her and rejects her idea, because it has no ground and she's grasping at straws. (i do think he does feel sorry for rejecting her but he also doesn't have enough solid ground with aemond as regent (his position in the small council is fairly new) and slighting aemond would cost him the power he has, so he stays quiet and looks away).
however, he also manages to drive a nail to alicole's coffin but he walks away without looking back at the mess it left.
they then don't share a scene at all for the rest of the season.
from then on all his scenes are with aegon, and we see a side of larys we haven't seen before.
ageon gave him power (of course larys manipulated aegon with the Hand comment) because of his "loyalty" following blood and cheese (i still believe larys "let it happen") and made him his master of whispers. he placed larys in the small council (when alicent never did in the 6 years she acted as regent) and gave him status outside of the dungeons. he "brought him [larys] out of the shadows" in a way.
the show has made a point to tell us, since episode one of season two, that larys has been looking at aegon the same way he used to look at alicent in season one, staring him down as if he could see what he's made of, constantly analysing and calculating how to best approach him.
he made small attempts at conversations and funny lines ("that castle is more crippled than me") as the whole alicent thing is going on.
and then the battle of rook's rest happened.
with aegon barely holding on, we have a scene where larys is honest, vulnerable, sincere maybe for the first time ever (yes there's manipulation, but also genuine compassion). he sees the struggles aegon will have to face because he lived them himself.
like with alicent in the weirdwood, he tried to form a connection with aegon. but where alicent "rejected" his true self, aegon instead listened to what larys was saying, saw the truth in it and raged, which made larys feel seen and heard, beyond manipulation and twisted words, probably for the first time in his life
larys, for all his talk that love is a downfall, craves connection, the desire to not be alone in the world. he does feel love.
and whereas alicent rejected his love and was disgusted by his true self, aegon welcomed his help, invited his advice, and embraced his aid to become stronger
i think larys will be loyal to him as long as aegon allows his love and it does not fester into resentment, like his love for alicent did

If we find some other way for War Games to kick off (or just...not have that arc, idk), I think my ideal end for the Robin!Steph arc would be for her, not to fuck up and get fired, but decide, on her own, that she prefers being Spoiler.
What she wanted was training, respect, and (ugh, DC, why?) to get back at Tim for the misconception that he cheated on her. The first two don't require being Robin (Bruce gave her a smidge during the Brentwood arc) and the third can be resolved through communication, or if we really want some interesting character growth, Steph confronting her own vindictiveness, wrestling with whether she cares more about Getting Revenge or Helping People.
Actually, that could tie back into her intro and subsequent early appearances pretty well? She became Spoiler to get back at her dad, but later shows up solving crimes in the suburbs pointing out that the Bats tend to focus on the main island city. She also wants to impress her crush, but moves away from that impetus over time. So deciding, "I built Spoiler into something more than revenge, and I want to keep building Spoiler, not get mired back in revenge as Robin," would be some growth.
So yeah, wrap up with Robin!Steph arc by her showing up at the Batcave in her Spoiler suit, mirroring how she first showed up in her handmade Robin suit, and tell Bruce she wants to split time patrolling the suburbs like she used to, and patrolling the city with him for more training. That being Robin was an honor, but she's Spoiler, and she's proud to be Spoiler.
This could be a kick in the pants for Bruce; by reclaiming Spoiler and laying down new terms of partnership, letting go of her grudge against Tim, she's acting more mature than Bruce (who it's implied made her Robin in an attempt to lure Tim back). Maybe this sparks him to reassess how he's handling the Jack situation and Tim's absence, reaching out in their civilian lives or otherwise doing something direct to maintain that important relationship.
