Bruce looking past the fact that (recently adopted) Danny is a powerhouse and recognizing that he has other skills also. <3
Danny is a STEM kid and just as brilliant as his sister, you cannot convince me otherwise
Danny gave Bruce the handwritten list of powers in the morning. Bruce stared at it over his cup of coffee, then gave Danny a flat, somewhat disbelieving look. Danny shrugged sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Sorry,” he said, perching on one of the stools. “I can point out the ones I don’t use if you just want to work on the ones I do. At least I have an idea of what needs improving with those.” Alfred gave him a cup of coffee and a plate of bacon and French toast, and Danny smiled at him. “Thanks, Alfred.”
“We’ll have to prioritize your training,” Bruce allowed after a moment, frowning down at the paper. Dick leaned over to look and whistled. “But all of these will be addressed eventually. You should have at least a moderate grasp of every tool at your disposal.” He looked up. “You intended to work in the lab today, correct?”
Danny nodded, playing with a strip of bacon. “I’ll probably spend most of today making a big batch of phaseproof coating,” he said. “Then I can experiment with mixing it with paint and maybe coat some of your spare weapons in it? That should work for the bo staff and escrima sticks, maybe a set of brass knuckles. But I’ll need to make a different solution for the edged weapons.” His mind wandered, thinking of how he could adapt what he knew of the Bats’ gear to work against ghosts.
“Who’re the brass knuckles for?” Dick asked, raising an eyebrow at Danny. Danny flushed and shrugged.
“Batman,” he said. “You don’t really use a weapon, right?” Bruce grunted. “But phaseproof cloth isn’t something my parents ever really figured out. I can work on it, maybe, but I thought brass knuckles would be an okay compromise for now.”
“Hn.”
“Good thinking,” Dick praised with a smile. “It’ll be easy to add to the utility belt too. Should we ghostproof my main set or a spare?”
“The main, I think, if you’re okay with it,” Danny said, tilting his head thoughtfully. “You probably won’t even notice. But the edged weapons should all be spares. Ecto-treated metal tends to glow.”
“Not great for stealth,” Dick nodded. “Whatever you think is best, baby spook. We have the resources.”
“You’re hyper-specialized,” Bruce noted without inflection, sipping from his coffee. Danny winced.
“Sorry,” he muttered. It was easy to forget that all this was pretty useless outside of Amity Park. Bruce shook his head.
“It’s not a problem. But we’ll need to diversify your skillset. Your talent for chemistry and engineering should expand beyond ectoscience alone.” He studied Danny contemplatively. “Higher education might be beneficial, perhaps a PhD.”
Danny’s eyes went wide. “What? I’m barely passing high school!”
“I had Casper High send over your transcripts,” Bruce said. Danny flinched. “You had a B+ average in middle school, with a particular bent for math and science. You also participated in several advanced extracurriculars, including a junior astronaut program, space camp, and competitive robotics. Further, you clearly have a comprehensive understanding of your parents’ work, which eludes both the Justice League engineers and JL Dark. You had these talents prior to acquiring your powers, and it would be a waste to discard them in favor of your raw combat ability.”
Danny stared at Bruce, open-mouthed and speechless. He couldn’t remember the last time he’d considered even the possibility that he could have a future outside of his hero career.
“…Do you think I could do that and be a superhero?” he managed after a minute, quieter than he’d meant to.
Bruce nodded sharply. “Most Justice League heroes maintain a career outside of heroics,” he reminded Danny, without even sounding like he thought Danny was an idiot for asking. “Aside from myself, there is also a Pulitzer prize-winning journalist, a museum curator, a forensic scientist, and a fighter pilot.”
Danny had known that on some level, but it had always seemed unreal. Practically a myth. “When am I going back to school?” he asked, hardly able to believe that he was suddenly looking forward to it.
“At the beginning of next semester,” Bruce said. “Your parents’ trial should be completed by then. I assume you don’t want to be announced publicly until that happens.” Danny shook his head fervently. “You may need to complete some make-up classes online, but we can discuss that next week.”
“Thanks,” Danny said sincerely. He was talking about a lot more than his re-enrollment.

zayne: a doctor's companion
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: A certain healthcare companion finds its way into Linkon City, and a particular doctor is about to discover what it means to say ba-la-la-la-lah.
tags: established relationship, baymax (big hero 6), fluff, canon-complaint, one-shot, medical terms, phone call, gender neutral reader mentioned, mostly zayne's POV, first meetings
word count: 1.8k | (ao3)
notes: inspired by this tweet! also i just love baymax a lot and i think him and zayne would be a cute duo thank you ; including the stanford article i read for the surgery mentioned here! (not necessary for understanding though) (also if i get any med stuff wrong apologies i did my best! i was a girl in stem but not Stem yk)
+ update: the cutest zayne baymax art just dropped everyone say thank you mimi (zaynefied) (i cried)
⊹˚₊‧───────────‧₊˚⊹
Zayne was sure he had slept well the night before. Had his full eight hours, breakfast accomplished and a handful of kisses from his partner before heading out in his pristine, white coat. The drive to work was the same scenery of Linkon City rushing past, soon parked in his designated lot and tracing a familiar path towards Akso Hospital’s entrance.
So, even with such a practiced routine, how did he end up here?
“I will scan you now. Please remain in place, Dr. Zayne.”
Zayne raises a hand in an effort to dissuade his unforeseen guest. “That won't be necessary.” But his rejection, in turn, was rejected itself—his brows narrowed at the losing notion.
“But it is. I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion.” The robot calmly states, reflecting a similar monotone diction to the doctor. “I was alerted to the need of medical attention,” he continues, plush footsteps along the hardwood floor squeaking as he approaches the seated doctor. "When you said 'Oof.' So, I am here."
That singular oof traced back to the faint murmur under Zayne's breath just minutes ago when pushing through the growing crowd of peering eyes at Baymax's unprecedented presence. An unusual sight for everyday work life, the mysterious yet kind robot drew in the attention of incoming patients and passersby who happened to catch a glimpse. Zayne’s opportune timing and arrival to work hurriedly whisked away the looming inflatable as crowds huddled in growing excitement, geeking and gossiping alike. Most of his efforts thus far were put into escorting the curiously soft giant through the pristine halls and past the doorway of his office without garnering further unwarranted attention.
And currently, Zayne found himself subjected to a consultation by said robot.
“On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your pain?” Baymax inquires. A chart of faces ranging in emotion and color flash over his chest in display. At the highest end stood a red expression painted in anguish, and to the lowest was a green facade of serenity.
Quickly, Zayne plainly states his number to mirror his current state. “Zero.”
Baymax stares him down with the abyss of his rather blank eyes wordlessly after receiving the response. In mere seconds, a pixelated, monotone hum with a hint of warmth made its way to Zayne’s ears. “Scan complete. You have sustained no recent injuries. However, your cortisol and neurotransmitter levels indicate that you are experiencing stress.”
No, really? Zayne’s brows and posture straightened then, removing his glasses and setting them aside. He echoes the conclusion, pushing down the unspoken remark with a bite of his tongue. “Stress? Is that so?”
Baymax nods, holding up a singular finger as he continues to reveal his findings. “This can be attributed to, for example, overconsumption of sugary foods or work overload. Have you had any of these two things recently?”
Zayne’s lips purse in thought, remembering the new maple syrup you had doused his pancakes in over an hour ago. ‘I picked this up during an overseas mission and thought you might like it,’ you explained to him, drawing an intricately sticky pattern of hearts atop his breakfast. It was still just syrup—not so much a difference in flavor to a regular one you could find at the nearby supermarket—but he was grateful for the gift nonetheless as he indulged in the sweet treat with you.
“Sugar, yes. Nothing wrong with it when done in moderation.”
Sure, he had a sweet tooth. But had been doing well to maintain a healthy intake of sugary pieces, lest he wanted another round of your ‘scoldings’ and an appointment to the neighboring orthodontist again.
With a slight sigh, he clasps his hands together over the expanse of his desk and continues. As for workload? He was almost always caught up in it, whether it were hands-on procedures or consultations. Today was no exception to the rule.
“And I do have work, if that’s what you’re referring to.”
“I see. May I make a suggestion?” Baymax asks.
Zayne gives him a curt signal of acknowledgement. “You may.”
“I can assist you with said workload. I am equipped with several modules and sensors that will be of use.”
Zayne contemplates for a moment, curious to the veracity of such a claim. Well, when one forms a hypothesis, the best way to test out the theory was through a designed experiment; and he was ready to do just that. “Alright. Give me just a moment.”
With a couple of speedy taps, Zayne pulls up a recent patient file and gestures for Baymax to approach. As the airy robot bounces into place beside him, Zayne points towards a diagram, a series of numbers and waves indicating observational data. “Here. Based on what you see, can you tell me what surgery this patient underwent?”
Baymax follows the trail of red lines, analyzing quickly in succession. “Their ECG fluctuations are affected by the noraderaline administrations over time. This line,” Baymax points to a blue parallel. “Indicates the oxygen levels throughout the surgery duration.” Calmly, he turns to blink at Zayne. “Diagnosis? The patient underwent a coronary artery bypass grafting procedure.”
Zayne nodded. Each detail was right on par, much to his surprise. “I’m impressed. Your creator must have put a lot of great effort into you.”
“He did. He was wonderful.” Baymax gives a thumbs up in return. “Am I to take it that I have passed your test?”
So he knew, even without having to say anything. “You have,” Zayne confirms with a small smile.
“Here.” Baymax raises his fingers and curls them into a fist, waiting for Zayne to meet him halfway. Slowly, Zayne does just that, meeting the soft plush before it was pulled away and sealed with a robotic tune.
“Ba-la-la-la-lah.”
“Bah… What now?”
“We have completed our first task together. This warrants a celebratory fist bump.” Baymax returns his enclosed fist towards the confused doctor once more. “You must also say it while our fists connect.”
Not finding it in himself to disagree, Zayne repeats the actions from before and adds on with an unsure, “Ba-la-lah.” Slightly strange, though it held a tinge of endearment that reminded him of a certain someone; he suddenly didn’t mind it as much then, shaking his head to himself.
It satisfied Baymax all the same, hand wiggling away before a sound disrupts the next file to be displayed. Zayne’s phone rings then, a custom set of notes indicating there was only one special caller. Your name flashed on his screen, buzzing in patience as his gaze flicked between that and Baymax.
“Do you mind if I take this?”
Baymax blinks. “I do not mind.”
“Thank you.”
With a swipe, Zayne presses his phone to the cup of his ear, voice softening to answer your call. “Good morning. Are you heading out now?”
“Morning! How did you know?”
Zayne could make out the rustling of keys with the pattern of your footsteps, a light yet amused scoff from him trickling into the receiver. Even if it weren’t for the traces of noise, you usually left around this time and always texted him a new emoji without missing a day. So, of course he knew. You followed up almost immediately with another answer to support your stance.
“New mission just came in, and it happens to be near Akso. Guess we’ll be seeing each other again pretty soon.”
“Oh?” His brow quirks at the idea. “What requires you to be in the area, exactly?” Zayne’s hazel hues instinctively settle on the black pools of Baymax’s blink, already knowing the answer that you proceeded to relay.
“There was a… Wanderer sighted?” Even over the phone, your voice relayed doubt amidst a warm crackling sound. “Well it’s not exactly one…allegedly. But rather something big, round and white? Tara said it looked like a walking marshmallow,” you chuckled. Well, it’s not like you were wrong, Zayne confirms with another glance.
“Either way, it’s caused an uproar and the Association is sending me to check it out. I’m assuming you already know what it is?”
“I do.” Baymax tilts his head, pointing a finger to himself in quiet curiosity. Zayne raises his own to his mouth, indicating for a secret to be kept as he muses into the call. “And no, not a Wanderer. Stop by my office when you get here and you’ll see.”
“I’ll be there in 15 if traffic is kind to me,” you chirped in reply. He could make out the humming of your motorcycle come to life, indicating the start of your journey. “See you then! Love you.”
“Alright. Love you too. Be safe.”
As the call came to an end, Zayne shifted his gaze to the even shiftier companion before him. Though Baymax couldn’t necessarily smile, the doctor could feel it radiating off of its plush form as he lifted a familiar finger.
“Your pulse and heart rate have quickened greatly. The rate went from 87 beats per minute to 102 in about ten seconds.” Baymax pauses, and a screen with infographics begins to luminate across his chest once more. “Symptoms may include, but are not limited to, your pituitary glands—“
“I’m aware of how hearts work.” Zayne gestures around to their environment, the glimmer of his name tag reflecting the morning sun filtering through the tall windows. “And… everything else.”
He was a cardiac surgeon, first and foremost. His efforts and contributions have earned him plenty of accolades in the field, a testament to his brilliance and especially at a younger age in comparison to his medical peers. But second to none was he also your partner—naturally, his heart would’ve soared regardless. He was aware of the source to his increased palpitations.
“You are also smiling,” Baymax comments. “Does this person make you happy?”
Zayne freezes then, unbeknownst of how the edges of his lips were curled into a gentle grin. His mouth almost straightens, fingertips brushing over them in thought. He lets out a resounding hum in confirmation, looking away bashfully for a brief moment. “Very much so.”
“That is good. Having someone who makes you ‘happy’ will improve your quality of life.” As if sending him his seal of approval, Baymax gives an affirmative fist of encouragement. No sooner did a wrapped lollipop appear between said fist, and he held it towards Zayne in offering. “Here, have a lollipop.”
“Thank you.” Zayne takes the candy in acceptance, wrapper crinkling in removal before a taste of winterberry spreads across his tongue. “Shall we go through another file until a certain someone comes barging in?”
He could already imagine how your grand entrance would play out, and this time, knowingly smiles to himself at the thought.
With an enthusiastic nod, Baymax takes a nearby chair and places it beside Zayne’s own. Deflating slightly to fit the mold, he puffs up once more in preparation.
“I am ready. Let’s work together, Dr. Zayne.”

STEM SISTER SCUFFLE: ROUND 3 MASHUP 4
Jade Harley (Homestuck) vs Entrapta Princess of Dryl (Netflix She-Ra and the Princesses of Power)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jade Harley is a Nuclear Physicist, Roboticist, Ectobiologist, and Cosmic Manipulator (warping space and planets)!
Entrapta Princess of Dryl is a Roboticist, Programmer and First Ones' Tech Historian/Archaeologist!
Why you should vote for each contestant:
Jade Harley:
"She's soo fun and silly and her symbol is literally an atom. she regularly irradiates steak to feed her weird dog"

"Built a modded bass guitar that's only playable when she's in her robot form and has extra arms. Became a doggirl. She also plays the flute :)"
"i think you have enough ramblings about her already but i couldnt NOT submit her, she is so dear to me <3"
"bbg has THREE scientific specialties!! she genetically modifies plants and makes them grow beautifully high just because she can and loves science. in her alpha timeline she’s a tech mogul and creates technology that challenges the evil empress that brought earth to ruin. AND she’s a furry"
"Doggy"
"She plays a silly flute refrain. She's a furry. Literally, she's a doggirl. She's also a god and created the universe. JADE BEST GIRLIE!!!!"
Entrapta Princess of Dryl:
"She builds robots!!! She's curious and inquisitive!! She loves her robots!! She has the coolest hair and also I want to be her bestie. She's an absolute love"
"autism :)"
"Builds robots and computers for fun and companionship. Can take apart and understand almost any tech she is presented with. Autism lever set to max and I love her. Mandatory boob window in all her outfits and I've never related harder to a character."
"autistic icon, amazing inventor and app round excellent character"
"she has prehensile hair it’s literally the best thing i’ve ever seen in my life, it’s never once acknowledged by any of the characters as abnormal or explained in any way i’m literally obsessed with it. also autism queen"
"PIGTAILS!!!! autism"
"Entrapta is very bubbly and positive. She never lets anything like losing her friends or going to the bad side or getting put on a death-sentence island stop her from scientific pursuits! She actually drives a lot of the conflict in the story, as she explains the technological backstory of the world, and helps both sides be better at fighting. She loves data, doing experiments, and the scientific method. She's also in love with space. She is an autistic queen <3"
"phenomenal canon autism representation without being weird & shitty. also she’s so strange & wonderful & relatable in so so many ways. my computer is named Darla bc that’s what she named the AI for the spaceship in s5"
"She is THE science queen because she loves science so much and her love of it is INFECTIOUS. I don’t know anything about science but Entrapta makes it seem like the coolest thing in the universe. I love her"
"She ourple. I luv her"
"She's so passionate about her work. Takes through notes! Figured out how to hack her home planet!!! She's autistic as hell and I like her overalls."
"You won’t get autism like this anywhere else bestie"
"amoral mad scientist who flips between the good guys and bad guys, loves building so many inventions, ends up converting the head bad guy (for most of the series) to good through the power of love"
"She has outfitted her entire castle to be a maze, and installed electronic locks on some. Her staff seems to be mostly robots she has built herself. In good part reverse engineering or adapting ancient tech found on the planet. She's incredible at what she does and personally fixes, invents and builds a wide range of stuff from space ships to portals to a prosthetic exoskeleton to trackers to war machines. She can do it all. Autism win! Girlie has been criticised for being treated childlike or being unable to understand those around her to a ridiculous degree, but I'm honestly just glad she's not a Sheldon Cooper. Her favorite bots have personalities and therefore implied AI (but not the shitty kind), which means she's pretty fucking good at software too. She likes tiny foods."
"So very autistic about technology. Initially believes robots are way better than people, eventually makes human friends but also very much still has robot friends (I love Emily so much). Gets so excited about finding new First One's tech. Also her happy spinning around in a space suit in that one season 5 episode heals my heart every time I watch it"
"She's the planet's leading expert on ancient tech (sci-fi/fantasy universe) and develops most of the tech in the show and is very autistic about it. i love her"
"She is fun and funky. Chaotic neutral. Definitely some autism coding going on, which is very charming. She has a pet robot? It is cute"
"Bc she is ENTRAPTA!! No srsly she is such a well-written character. At times kinda morally grey but always lovable and great and she is truly amazing at what she does!! I'm pretty sure she's already been submitted but I wanted to make sure :)"

TOTTMNT SPOILERS!!!!!!!
the one thing that bugs me from tales (which i could kind of glean from how they marketed it in the first place) is bishop as a character. like its a bit ehhhhh to be all proud of your diverstiy "bipoc women in stem who wants to help the disabled" on uh.... the character who exists to be a shady xenophobic government suit whos been hellbent on killing all aliens/mutants even if it means killing humans in the process. like i know bishop hasnt always been the bad guy (which also hasnt always worked tbh) but making THAT character the diverse one is.... like its just not well thought out? especially since she still ends up at the EPF at the end. shes still in that role. even if theres a secret double agent plotline later its not great cuz shes there filling that role for now.
and they tried their best to make it just a spur of the moment traumatic event happened that she blames mutants for but it doesnt work that well. shes still got the funding from rod's dad. her life wasnt even ruined, she did lose one robot and that WAS sad but.. idk. if it was her actual sister or something it would have worked better? like her sisters personality in that robot that she couldnt make another one of? or like i think it needed to be that rod's dad was more evil or something and cut her funding cut her project cuz that aspect just doesnt work the way they did it. like she's too sympathetic and then too evil. like i think theres a world in which this could have worked? but the way its written is shallow. if that makes sense.
and again they reallyyyy marketed the diversity in her which is why its worse
Tumblr media
diversity win! this xenophobic war criminal is now a disabled latina! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

spoilers!!!! hello!!! you asked for chishiya x reader request? can i request oneshot or headcannon of them reuniting in the hospital in the last episode?(they both were in borderland) so they were dating before and during and after borderland (maybe they were walking together in shibuya that kind of thing so they both are alive)
It's been a while so I might be rusty :') For this, I decided to set pre-borderlands reader and chishiya at the beginning stage of their relationship (think first date) so the reunion impact has much more oomf (in my silly little head, this makes sense). I hope you like it!!
What's Missing?
Summary: You had made a promise, but you can't remember for the life of you what nor to whom—but a certain blonde with a Cheshire smile may help you recall.
TW: blood, SPOILERS FOR S2
Genre: fluff, alice in borderland au, hinted established relationship
Pairing: reader x chishiya
Words: 1.1k
Tumblr media
You couldn't feel your dominant hand. The pain had dwindled into numbness, but you were certain a silver bullet had dug its way in between the bones of your lower arm. Chishiya had managed to take his jacket off despite the blood pouring out his own side. Through his shallow breathing, he tied it it tightly around your wound, trying his best to ignore your pained groan.
The bullet-fire had stopped a good hour ago, leading you both to think that the King of Spades was long gone. But your wounds didn't stem from that game—it was from the godforsaken shootout Niragi started.
You and the blonde sat side by side, huddled behind a dented car Usagi and Arisu had dragged you towards. You tried your best to shift a little so you can face him better, bringing your other arm to press against his blood-soaked torso. He spared a small grunt, the only thing telling you that he was in as much—if not, more—pain as you are. His warm hand covered yours, the two of you trying to put pressure on his wound.
"___," he exhaled slowly. "Promise me."
You hummed in response, whispering, "Okay."
Chishiya let out a low chuckle, "I haven't said what for yet."
"You don't need to," you turned your head up, eyes meeting his. "I'll do anything for you."
He gave you a small smile—the type void of his usual snark. In a way, he seemed almost sad, fearful. "I know. Sometimes I wish you wouldn't."
The blood pool underneath you grew. You didn't know which blood was whose, and you'd rather not find out.
"Promise me you'll remember," he quietly murmured. If you weren't paying attention you would have most likely missed it underneath the boom of fireworks, suddenly appearing the way they did when you first came into this wretched place. The familiar robotic voice greeted all surviving players with a congratulatory message, one you drowned out in favor of focusing on the only person that mattered: Chishiya.
"I promise. We'll find each other again."
Unbeknownst to you, your eyebrows knit together in worry upon seeing his paler complexion. The blush in his cheeks and the color from his lips have drained out, blooming on the cement instead. A dull spark in his deep brown irises fought to stay alive. You wanted to kiss him so bad.
You would've done anything to feel his lips against yours again, or his fingers in between your hair. Even inches from death, he looked so beautiful, but you were scared that the slightest touch would rip him away from you.
"That's all I need," Chishiya gave your hand a small squeeze, the light of fireworks reflecting off his cat-like eyes.
The disembodied voice in the background asked one last question, one you both knew the answer to. In a blink of an eye, everything melted away.
Disoriented, you found yourself back in Shibuya, waiting for your date outside a coffee shop. You blinked twice, as if waking up from a dream, the only thing grounding you being the buzz of the hundreds of people coming and going. From the corner of your eye, you saw the flash of platinum blonde hair—and felt the impact of the meteor immediately after.
   .❀。• *₊°。 ❀°。
The first thing you woke up to was systematic beeping.
Your body hurt all over, especially your dominant arm. With a glance, you realized that it hung in a cast. With enough effort and pain tolerance, you could still wiggle your fingers.
Something was missing.
Your thoughts were interrupted by a nurse walking into your room, her small gasp catching your attention. She quickly scampered off to most likely find a doctor, but you couldn't have cared less. Your mind was stuck on somewhere—someone?—else. There's something important you had to do, but you didn't know what.
You needed to meet someone.
It would be days later when this thought would flash across your head.
That's right. There was someone you had to see.
You've healed enough to roam around the hospital now, but you still couldn't be discharged because they had to monitor the fracture in your lower arm. The way the bones have splintered could've only been caused by a gunshot wound, which stumped the doctors because how on earth could you have been shot during the impact?
Subconsciously, your walk has led you to a patient lounge area. Looking around, you saw a girl with chin length-hair laughing across a boy with long, shaggy hair, a small bandage stuck across his cheek. Other patients were scattered among the tables, some watching TV, others silently reading by themselves. That's when you locked eyes.
At the furthermost corner, a man sat with a set chessboard and an open pack of crackers. A flash of recognition sparked across your mind, and a part of you knew he felt it too.
You promised something. Promised what? To whom?
Without breaking eye contact, you walked towards the bookshelves his table was placed next to. He raised an eyebrow, light blonde strands of hair framing his sharp eyes. You gulped, second-guessing yourself.
You promised.
Half-heartedly browsing the shelf, you picked a book out, halting when you heard the blonde clear his throat.
"Your supposed to sign the logbook before borrowing," he nodded towards a bookstand, which was set beside a large window overlooking the hospital's garden.
"Ah, thank you," you replied meekly.
It was only when you were in front of the logbook that you realized: shit, you couldn't write.
Struggling, it took you an embarrassing amount of time to properly hold the pen. You could feel him watching you, smirking at your helplessness. Weirdly enough, you didn't feel offended or annoyed. Instead, warmth nestled within your chest.
I promise I'll find you.
You had barely scrawled three letters when you felt his presence closer to you. You looked over to your side, slowly taking him in.
His hair was tied into a small ponytail, a few loose strands poking out. His eyes looked less cold upfront, specks of sunlight entrapped in the rich brown. He felt like home, like hot chocolate after a long day or the rediscovery of a childhood toy.
"I thought you needed help," his lips curled slightly, a boyish grin adorning his features.
You chuckled lightly, "Thank you. My name is—"
And before you even finished, he had written your entire name—as if he knew it by heart, as if it was an oath he'd held onto dearly.
You tore your eyes from the paper, meeting his intense gaze again. He gingerly raised his hand, his heart yearning to reach out to you. He didn't know why but it all felt right when he first saw you. Everything was in its place.
You held his hand in midair, bringing it over to your cheek.
You've done this lifetimes before.
"Chishiya," his name left your mouth like a whisper—a wish scattered upon the heavens to come true.
"You were late to our date," you teased him.
He snorted a little, eyes crinkling as his grin widened. "I'll make it up to you, I promise."

My Jay, Nya, Pixal, Zane, Kai, and Lloyd Headcanons about their expertise in STEM
I was struck by inspiration and I just had to write it down. It doesn't help that I'm taking a programming class and have a bunch of STEM friends and family, so I was given plenty of ideas
Please excuse any spelling and grammar mistakes. I forgot to switch my keyboard from Portuguese to english
Jay
He is good with circuits and hardware
If he had the funds and motivstion, he would have been an electrical engineer, or at least become certified as an electrician
He practically already has the experience since he always tinkered with circuits and wires as a kid
His parents would always have him fixing the toaster, fridge, TV, basically any electrical appliance at home
He never had once touched a computer program until he came across his first computer at the junkyard
After tinkering with it and booting it up, he began to mess around and trid his best to understand the programs in it
He understood a little, but he wasn't a pro at it until Pixal came along (she taught him about different programming languages and the fundamentals, and he found out he's not into programming as much as he is with messing with circuits)
He does know mechanics and car stuff thanks to his dad, but he's more interested in wires and circuits
Nya
Mechanic
She definitely has a certification as a mechanic
Thanks to Kai, she had the time to study for a technical education
She also knows enough about electrical engineering to make all the cool cars and mechs
She didn't know very much about programming but she was very interested in it
She went to the library and read outdated books on programming (the local library near their village isn't the most well funded)
Hey, at last she grasped the fundamentals even though she learned an ancient language that most programmers don't use or learn anymore
When Pixal joined the team and started to teach her about programming, she was ecstatic
Now all her inventions could be more modern!
Pixal
She is just like her dad, so robotics and computer science are her thing
She does know a bit about everything since she has an entire database in her head to glean info from
Still, programming is her favorite thing and the thing she considers herself the best at
She leaves vehicle maintenance to Nya and any circuitry to Jay
When Jay, Nya, or Zane aren't around, she handles all the things they handle even if she doesn't enjoy it as much as programming. Someone has to be there to take care of all their tech
Whenever there's a bug she can't seem to fix, she explains her code to Zane to help herself think
Zane listens and i happy to be helping his gf <3
When Zane isn't there, she talks to Nya, her bestie, instead
When neither are there, she talks to Jay
Jay only listens since he's not very experienced with programming, but he does try to help from time to time
Zane
Zane doesn't consider himself to be an expert in any tech related field
Like yeah, he knows basically everything and can do it all, but he's not very interested in them
He will fix cars or fix a line of code, but only when it's necessary or if he's asked to
Unlike the others, he doesn't spend his free time inventing or tinkering with anything
He's mostly meditating or hanging out in nature
He likes plants, like, A LOT
Plants, cooking, and animals are his expertise
He also knows a lot about herbs and tea, so he's basically the team's medic
Pixal is his medical assistant just like he is her programming assistant <3
Zane and Cole go out on walks and hikes a lot, and they drag Kai along just for fun
Kai
He knows a bit about mechanic since he sometimes helped Nya with her homework and projects
Him and Nya know exactly what they're talking about when Jya asks him to bring her the thingamabob
Kai had to teach Jay what the hell a thingamabob and a doohickey is so Jay could actually help Nya
In return, Kai learned some of Jay's weird names for tools like the thing and thingamajig
If things are really dire (like none of the team's inventors and Zane are with them) then Kai will try to fix a vehicle
50% chance of failure, 49% chance of success
The 1%? Who knows
It explodes
Lloyd
Like Kai, he knows a bit about mechanics, if not more because he spent a lot of time with Nya when he was younger and when nobody knew he was the green ninja
He has more success fixing vehicles than Kai, so Kai is always the last resort
Lloyd also knows about plants and herbs since he read about them after Wu was gone
Someone had to take care of all the plants for Wu and Zane after the merge happened
Lloyd also knows a bit of programming and electrical engineering, though it's not very useful
He could tell you what a variable is but he cannot write a program to save his life
He can tell you what XOR does, but he can't build a circuit
Due to his interest in video games, he's been trying to learn programming, but due to everything that happened in his life, he hasn't learned much
He's still trying, and that's what matters

Hey just wanted to come out and say real quick that I think I've confirmed a new kintype. It actually falls under a whole new category of alterhumanity that I've never been in before.
I am Post Apocalyptic Survivor Conceptkin
Trying to figure this out was... certainly a challenge. Quite honestly I'm still not 1000% sure that is exactly what I'm experiencing, but for the time being it feels right.
This is an identity that is very deeply rooted in my sense of self and is a very personal experience. I struggle to even properly explain what this identity feels like, as there aren't really words in the english language (or any other language that I'm aware of) to describe the extremely abstract thoughts and emotions that come with it. The best way I can describe it is it just feels like something that's intertwined with the essence of my being, like I can just sense it all around me in the most subtle ways. I believe it's spiritual in nature, maybe stemming from a past (or future??) life. I think I have some vague memories of it, but it's hard to say because they don't feel like memories from a specific individual, hence why I use the conceptkin label. It's something I've sorta always felt with me, lingering in the background, dropping hints that there's something much bigger than myself out there. But it's grown more and more prevalent in my life as Ive gotten older, usually making itself most apparent in the spring and summer time. It's difficult to define, everytime I try to focus on it and make out any specifics it squirms out of my reach, like trying to remember a hazy dream from the previous night. Sometimes I'll see or hear something that strikes something familiar in me and I'll know Ive found another small piece to the puzzle, but I greatly struggle to make rational sense of it. But there are a few things I think I know for sure about it. Here are some things that remind of and make me feel more connected to it.
☣️🌿• TV Shows/Movies: Kipo and The Age of the Wonderbeasts, Ghostbusters II: Frozen Empire, I Am Legend, Love Death and Robots
☣️🌿• Video Games: The Last of Us
☣️🌿• Books: The 5th Wave
☣️🌿• Music: ACHE by emawk, Tumblr Girls (Christoph Andersson Remix Sped Up) by G-Eazy, Lady Killers II (Slowed Remix) by G-Eazy, Resonance (Sped Up) by Home

I don't see many other conceptkins around so if you're out there hiiiii :3 I'd love to be friends and hear about your experiences! Maybe it will help me to make sense of my own in some way. Also feel free to ask me any questions about it! ^^ I'd love to answer them and it'd probably be helpful for me to try learning to verbally express some of the things I experience lol, thank uuuu <3

Any info on Peri’s roommates? Would they find out he’s a fairy?
Charlie -> He/it, transgirl bisexual homoromantic. Stem major, really interested in engineering and stuff. Loves robots, in the science way and the objectum way. Lost his leg and eye in a nasty accident when he was younger(prob has ptsd for it. never getting diagnosed). can be very loud and a bit obnoxious but they all love the girl. It would probably be the last to figure out that Peri is a fairy cause yeah girlie is booksmart, he's not the best at figuring out what is considered normal like, socially (blame the undiagnosed adhd). Peri and him are quiet close, they go out for coffee and stuff together all the time. works at like a gamestop or something. Moved in a bit after Peri and ? had been living together.
?->she/her, cisgirl aroace, autistic. this is the pink one i haven't named yet but honestly, might never reveal it. everybody just gives her a nickname. She's doing an art degree, she adores making little sculptures and taking photos of them out in nature, Peri always goes with her when she does her photography. As previously stated, she's non-verbal, although she has never explained why, always coming up with a different reason. While she does know asl, she usually communicates by writing stuff down, so she always has a notebook on her (both for drawing and talking). Peri and her are best friends, spending most of their time together (they are both vocaloid fans she got him into it). Due to how close they are she has come close to finding out he's a fairy so many times and would probably be the first to find out. she does think he's a bit odd but she usually shrugs it off. The apartment is in her name, she let Peri live with her first. she's very enthusiastic about everything.
Ray->he/him, transmasc bisexual. you guys haven't seen him yet cause I am stuck on his design. He's not really going to uni, just working retail for now but considering maybe eventually going into trade. Only one with a partner, he has a girlfriend and they love each other, he would probably be the first to move out so he can live with her. Peri is def the most distant from him, Ray is more friends with ? and Charlie. Despite barely seeing Peri, Ray is a bit suspicious of them. Ray's always had an interest in magic so Peri has slightly sparked his attention. He moved in last. He can be a but overconfident, gets into a lot of fights.
yeah thats his roommates. i think i might only do the au tag cause this isnt even fop at this point this is my ocs
