okay, so I really wanted to like Big Fish (2003), but I don’t get it, I think? Myth-making and imagination are lovely, but not at the detriment of relationships…I’m dissatisfied with the parenting here…
also, was he cheating on his wife or not?? I’m still confused. I’ll read about it and think about it and form an opinion, I guess

just watched a movie for english class called Big Fish, and i could not recommend it enough. It is very much an artistic movie, so if you’re in the “maybe the curtains were just blue” crowd you’ll just be angry at it, but it has a very interesting commentary about how truth and reality aren’t always important or the same.
also it has ewan mcgregor, danny devito, steve buscemi as some of the main roles but the actual movie itself is good and i encourage watching it for the writing and screenplay, not just the actors

I can’t help but think this is a story directed at writers specifically. It doesn’t hit all the bases of a great story but i think it achieves what it sets out to.
Big Fish is a 2003 American fantasy comedy-drama film directed by Tim Burton, and based on the 1998 novel of the same name by Daniel Wallace. The film stars Ewan McGregor, Albert Finney, Billy Crudup, Jessica Lange, Helena Bonham Carter, Alison Lohman, Robert Guillaume, Marion Cotillard, Steve Buscemi, and Danny DeVito.
