Nobody has ever really taken the time to get to know me. That hurts.

People talk to me, or should I say talk at me, we chat to pass time but nobody, not even any of my ex’s, has ever sat down and asked me about myself.

They’ve never even expressed an interest in what is beneath the surface of me, and it hurts.

There was a smear campaign at work against me (I think I mentioned it before) and because nobody knew me they listened to the crap being spouted by somebody who acted like a friend but was the one who started the campaign to make herself interesting I guess. One of the people who believed her spent one hour having a general conversation with me and said “I have to say I’ve never really spoken to you before but from what I heard about you I thought you were a monster, but now I’ve spoken to you I can see none of that was true”.

It’s been happening to me since college. People act as if they don’t see me or don’t like me and I would tend to shrink away. But then they overhear me joking around with my friends or we have a brief conversation and suddenly it’s like watching ice melt.

It’s so hurtful because many potential friendships and relationships never happened because they never took the time to get to know me.

To be honest, I am ready for outside to be open; creating projects, taking trips, and starting a new journey.

I’ve overslept and missed the opportunity to go to the Bazaar Farmers’ Market on 83, sigh.  Definitely was about to be my highlight this past weekend. I really wanted @theblacksaucekitchen signature biscuit sandwiches. It’s one of my favorite things to do on Sundays.

This pandemic got us into a little funk. But hopefully, with the season changing, we can lighten up the mood into some cheer and fun.

I am listing the hottest S/S 21 TRENDING OUTFITS FOR THE SEASON!

FLORAL- FLORAL BUSTIER DRESSES ARE IN! The dress is definitely great for date night with your babe or bubbly brunches with the girls. It’s has a bustier + form-fitting around the bosom and a sweetheart neckline. Most floral bustier dresses are designed with a slit, strapless, airy sleeves, and midi size. My fave thus far on Instagram is the white dress with the small red flowers, and 1/4 above the knee. MONOCHROMATIC- Monochromatic is different shades + hues of one solid color. The ladies on the gram definitely showing off with the monochromatic power suits, pleated skirts, and blazers in bold and bright colors. PASTELS- There is no spring without PASTELS. Pastel colors are soft, airy, whimsical. As stated in my previous blog posts, solid and print pastels are in style; lavender, periwinkle, sea-green.

CUT OUT: I love a good cut-out dress! Like the sheer, it’s semi revealing, causal, slim-fit but the skin is exposed under and/ or around the bosom +chest area. Shops: @SHEIN @thefashionaddicts @missguided

BRALETTES + WIDE LEG PANTS: This combo is a cute hipster, tom-boy, bohemian vibe. The fact of the attire is informal yet, flattering, just woo’s me. Most wide-leg pants are pleated, hug the waistline, gaucho, linen, and cotton. The bralettes set the tone of the whole fit; sexy, flossy with an edge. Shops: Urban Outfitters, Marshalls, Free People

When it comes to making decisions, are you a head type or gut type? I’m definitely a gut type. If I see or hear something that just resonates with me or my experiences, that’s pretty much all I need. (Keep the peer-reviewed studies, articles and proofs to yo-self!) My husband is totally a head type. No matter WHAT, his FIRST reaction when he hears something is to match it up to head knowledge or find the scientific proof.(What a party pooper, amiright?? 😄) For real though, as annoying as it can get sometimes, we need each other and balance each other well!(Just between you and me though, sometimes I just need him to trust me though, cause I KNOW that I know that I know… and he’ll see the light eventually. So recently I was in a situation where I had no choice but to trust somebody. I had to trust them with something extremely valuable and I had no choice but to trust.

It’s been a very strange experience. At one point I almost lost my shit and damn near accused them of plotting against me, but I was wrong. Totally wrong. This person did exactly what they said they would do and more. They went over and beyond to help me because they saw people take advantage of me and said enough is enough.

She said she knows how it feels because she has been taken advantage of too, but all she wanted was for me to trust her. I did. And she didn’t let me down.

It’s been an experience for both of us. We both have trust issues. We both are afraid of getting close to anybody so we understand each other. I’m even terrified of calling her my friend out loud because I’m scared of the disappointment that may come later.

But I do believe I have a true friend in her. She even dragged the hell out of the last person who took advantage of me. All I could do is laugh.

Is this a turning point with my trust issues? I don’t want to relax and start trusting people because soon enough the sting is gonna come from somewhere.
