Sometimes I feel like y'all negate a white character's whiteness by their neurodivergence or they're good writing. Like sometimes I'll see a post akin to "i thought he was just a white boy but then I saw he was a SPECIAL white boy" and I kinda shrivel up inside. A white character's good writing doesn't negate the fact that they're a white character cus that's not the point. There has been many good written white characters for centuries because well written white characters is the norm. To have white neurodivergent characters is also the norm! Just because you like a character doesn't negate them from falling victim to being like any other white character. They're still white, you just like them cus they're well written.

And this goes for any other character like, that character is still a cop, that character is still cis, that character is still straight. You can like these characters cus these characters do exist and are well written, but to bring a character's identity into it to say "oh i thought they were just _ but they're actually a special kind of _" is reductive. Me seeing a well written autistic white character doesn't suddenly mean me as afrolatina can excuse their whiteness cus I still haven't seen any character that looks like me or experience I can fully relate to.

We need to stop putting these well written white characters on pedestals for being white but different, and just ask the questions like "why couldn't they be black?" or "i wanna see more characters like this but a person of color"

just going to say it flat out, if this were the real world jax would likely die before confessing anything simply because he hates the concept of being vulnerable, as well as being the one to have to open up... god this wouldnt be so hard if it were the other person suffering; as terrible as it sounds... though, i dont think jax is the most.. emotionally mature of the bunch so he likely would have a mindset like that... in the beginning, after he notices the first petals he probably starts hiding them when he realizes whats going on.. probably legitimately starts swallowing the petals because he cant stand the idea of someone seeing him cough them up... and i dont know the health risks of digesting flower petals, especially ones that just spawned inside of you, but that probably worsens his overall health. thankfully (if you can even say that) he cant die in the digital world.... which... allows things to drag out for longer, and its going to take a lot for jax to just swallow his pride and confess something of this nature... even if it means hes in excruciating agony... though, i can also see him just wanting to get it out of the way when he finally hits his limit, as humiliating as it is

just saying, if hes ever cured and actually gets with the person hes in love with, theyre going to have to work on his fear of vulnerability

ZOOBLE:

very similar to jax in terms that they also dont like being perceived as vulnerable. but for a different reason. jax doesnt like showing that kind of stuff off because he thinks love is gross and yucky! how dare he be flustered when someone calls him cute! zooble, on the other hand, more so doesnt like the idea of growing an attachment. especially in the digital world where your mental state is so vital to your physical state... nope too risky and they dont want to make the other person feel they need to keep going to spare them the hurt blah blah blah, stuff like that. though... this makes me wonder where the flowers come from, since zooble doesnt have a mouth... maybe they just... spawn out of where the mouth would be? i think that would make it easier for them to hide it for longer, until someone actually sees the petals actively coming out... less of a clean up too, since they cant bleed... but perhaps they are covered in a black residue, not too different from the stuff pomni throws up in the pilot.. shrugs.. between the two, zooble is more likely to crack and confess, though. jax has his pride to protect, but zooble isnt nearly as invested in their ego.. though i do think they try to play it off after the confession.. shrugs

long time ago i saw a post from a zutara shipper that was like "the thing i hate most about kataangs is that they always insist that their canon is 100% good and when zutaras make metas on how canonically kataang arent a good couple they wont listen"

and i mean. i get the frustration partly because i dislike people who can't criticize the stories they consume but like. if your metas are basically just this ship bad blah blah blah obviously those shippers aren't going to agree with you. especially if in other posts you praise the "opposing" ship and act like it wouldnt also be fucked over by the writers if it was made canon, with their track record of writing lackluster romances.

beyond that, it's hypocritical because when kataang shippers make metas on how zutara also isn't really that grand of a ship, they lose their shit.

and like, just ship and let ship. i dont get why there has to be a "better" one. its fiction you're meant to be free to explore and enjoy different things. im not into zucest but i can respect others who are. its that easy

Zutarians at large operate under the system of "One rule for you, another for me." THEY can write meta criticizing the other ships and praising their own, and full on demand people to not only read that stuff, but consider it canon even if it full on contradicts what we see in the original show.

But if someone says "I really don't like Zutara and here's why", even if it's properly tagged, even if it's not attacking anyone, even if they are willing to hear the "other side", then that is suddenly a horrible attack against them, and you'll hear cries on "fandom misogyny!" for days.

They want "ship and let ship" to apply to them and nobody else just because they have big numbers - and that's part of why Zutara fans that like other pairings, or are into OT3s end up getting fed up with their own fandom. It becomes hostile to anything that might threaten their "supremacy."

Fuck it we ball thinking about Chev and how him ending but with Emma makes me tear my eyes out lmao. I hc him as aromantic and like I know it's not canon but he's expressed how he doesn't want romance and sees it as unnecessary and like for aro people in particular (and ace but this is a more romantic context) others say, "Oh you just haven't found the right person yet," and that's basically what happens in Chev's route. It's not outright said but it's basically the premise. Essentially Emma meets Chevalier and is scared of him at first yadayadayada Clavis makes her deliver thing I forgot the name of and then if I remember properly they were talking and it gets to the topic of romance (because of course it does) and he says something along the lines of, "I don't see the need for romantic relations because it clouds a king's judgment and I don't see it as necessary," and yeah that could just be seen as him wanting to be a perfect king and stuff but that shouldn't just cross a prince's mind you know? (Sadly i dont have the screenshots) So as his route progresses and Emma develops romantic feelings for Chev blah blah blah he opens up to her and shows his true colors. Now don't get me wrong I loved those part and the one at the soldier graves is one that comes to mind immediately. Once again I don't have the screenshots for some reason I suppose I'll just playthrough his route a third time I get the chance and edit if I even remember but anyways it was talking about how he doesn't remember names of people he doesn't see as important but he remembers the soldier's names BECAUSE of the fact that they were important to Rhodolite (if that's how you spell it lmao) and thus important to him. Back to the topic at hand they get closer and honestly I'm here for that. He's not as on guard and you can tell that he IS human and stuff and I feel like a close platonic relationship is perfect for that but alas it's an otome and at the end of the route they get together and even if it doesn't seem like it, it follows the trope of quote unquote, "finding the right person," and I hate that so fucking much!!! There could have been such great rep in my opinion if cybird had done that! Now that I've lost steam for continuing this I feel that I've sufficiently gotten my point across and would just like to say some things. But I understand you completely this show goes from 0 to 100 and the other way around ALL THE TIME. One episode is amazing and the next one is crap and so on. I hated the bible so much and I still hate so many decisions the writers made and I'm really not sure how things will end but I idk I thought quitting the show will help me but I'm too attached to it and my friends here and the truth is I can't just leave. I loved Destruction. I wanted to leave not because I was disappointed in the previous episodes - the season 4 finale was awesome and so was Evolution and Multiplication - but the spoilers got worse and worse. The more I read about them the more I hated them and nothing here was making me want to stay. The fandom sucks too but man there are some of my friends here whom I would sell my soul to the devil for so I can see them again every day. If you want to quit I fully understand and I don't judge you. I quit like three times now and every time I find excuse to come back. ML is addictive. If you need a break take it. We will get a lot of episodes now and when/if you come back you will have a lot of stuff to watch. Breaks help a lot. I felt so good when I didn't interact with the fandom for a while.

But just in case maybe you want to read the bible? And I will share the link for it and I can't say it will change your mind but I just think you should watch Multiplication and Destruction cuz I haven't met a person yet who was deeply disappointed by these episodes. I personally thought they were great. I wish every episode was this interesting and funny and I know this season will disappoint with some episodes too but that's how we roll. I will probably take more breaks again sometime when I decide. I understand and support you whatever you decide. You do what you want.
