So I'm currently writing a HC fic and realized how little I know about some of the hermits (I unfortunately don't have time to watch all of them), which made it really difficult to depict them properly in my writing. I'm assuming at least some of you might also struggle with this, so, here we are!

If you know of a catchphrase from any hermit from any season, comment, reblog, send me a an ask or dm, dm me on discord, whatever works the best :D

Note: when I say "catchphrase," I mean anything a hermit repeats over an extended period of time. It can be something said during a single season (like "You'll speak when spoken to!" or "Hermit Challenges!"), or something that spans their entire careers (like "Aww snappers!" or "Plonker"). I'm not looking for one-off quotes that are never bought up again — there's some great sources (like @hermitcraft-correct-quotes) for that already :)

Fandom: Honkai Star Rail

Characters: Caelus, Dan Heng, Welt Yang, Jing Yuan, Blade, Aventurine x gn! Reader

Caelus was surprised when he first heard you sing but after a moment to appreciate it, he’s not going to be able to resist humming along, immediately blowing his cover.

He’s definitely going to join in when you’re singing songs he knows and likes, whether he’s a good singer or not. If he can make you smile or laugh by doing that, he’s achieved his mission.

But at the same time, he loves hearing your voice alone. He’s especially fond of quiet days where he can relax with you, listening to you sing whatever song comes to mind.

I think Caelus’ favourite Hazbin Hotel song would be “Respectless”. He’s certainly been that a few times on his travels and he loves the sass you put into your voice whenever you sing it.

Out of everyone, I think Dan Heng would be the only one not surprised to hear you sing. He’s got a lot of knowledge about a lot of things so I think he would be able to tell you’d have a nice singing voice from the way you talk.

However, that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to enjoy listening to you. Whether you notice him or not, he’ll encourage you to keep singing while he works.

Occasionally, he may hum along to a song, but he generally prefers hearing your voice without any other auditory distractions.

This may seem like a strange match at first, but I think Dan Heng would like “Ready for This”. He likes the music, sure, but he also really enjoys hearing how different characters change throughout the song.

This music lover has found his soulmate. He’s sure of it. Someone who can sing as well as you can is the perfect match for someone who likes listening to singing as much as he does.

If you’re singing to yourself, Welt will do his best to quiet so he doesn’t interrupt you. He wants to keep listening for as long as possible.

He really wants to request songs from time to time but for the most part, he’s happy with whatever you pick.

I can see his favourite Hazbin Hotel song being “More Than Anything” just for the slow loving vibes. He might not be much of a singer, but he would like to duet this song with you.

Oh, Jing Yuan’s going to be insufferable as soon as he finds out how well you can sing. He’ll always be humming, hinting at you to sing something.

Has fallen asleep listening to you more than once. Thankfully he wasn’t doing anything important at the time…

Jing Yuan definitely has a nice singing voice, so he’d enjoy joining you in your songs sometimes, especially if it’s a duet.

This man loves “Loser, Baby”. That’s all that needs to be said here. He likes how fun it is while still conveying a good message.

I feel like Blade might be initially indifferent to your singing abilities. They’re not useful in combat so what’s the point of them?

At the same time, he’s likely to sulk around until you feel like singing yourself. As soon as that happens, he’s back on his A-game.

Because even though he claims not to care, Blade loves listening to you sing. There have been few sleeps as good as the ones he’s had after falling asleep to your voice.

Blade’s favourite Hazbin Hotel song is “Hell is Forever”. He originally thought it was going to be edgy and instead ended up really liking it for what it is.

I haven’t really had a lot of experience with Aventurine either as a character or writing for him so hopefully this isn’t too out of character, but I think he’d love your singing if only because it’s better than the music that plays in game.

Whenever he walks into a building that normally has music playing, he’ll turn it off (somehow) so your voice takes over.

I can’t see him singing along but he might hum a few notes if you’ve been quiet for a while and he wants to hear you sing. He can’t blow his cover, so he’s got s drop subtle hints that he wants you to sing for him.

I think his favourite Hazbin Hotel song would be "Stayed Gone". It seems to match the vibe he’s got going on and I definitely see some similarities between Aventurine and Vox.

maybe its bc your style of doodling (at least where color is concerned) emphasized it, but I only just noticed when looking at your latest sketch of Ratio and Adventurine that their eye colors mirror and/or match kavetham's. Like adventurine has two colors with a warm color surrounding a cool color, which is similar to haitham's cool color surrounding a warm color, while ratio and kaveh both have pure red eyes

alhaithams are cool color (teal) outside, warm color (orange/red) inside while aventurines are warm outside (pink) and cool inside (blue)

kaveh and dr ratio are extremely similar tho!! both going from gold/yellow to red/orange to darker

Why not use that color in your magickal practice? Color magick is an excellent form of magick, is beginner friendly, and is a great way to bring expression and magick into your daily life. Color can be used in the form of candles, art, clothes, makeup, and just about any other form you can think of. And the best thing is: all you need is color. How do I incorporate color magick into my magickal practice? Anything that is colored can be used. Use colored candles in spells to fit your intentions (also remember that white can be substituted for any color). Dressing in particular colors (including makeup and hair colors). You'll find that even stones and gems have similar properties to their colors (i.e. green adventurine for financial abundance, rose quartz for self love, black obsidian for protection, amethyst for divination/intuition). Can you tell us more about Damian please?

Also, how is his relationship with Bruce?

Okay, so this is kind of complicated.

So Damian is well… Damian. I grew up with him as my younger brother. I became Batgirl when I was sixteen and Robin/Damian was already ten. He was still seriously struggling with his relationship with Bruce.

Damian and Bruce both have a lot of anger issues and is easily overwhelmed and frustrated. Bruce has dealt with it for years but still struggles a lot more with his anger. Damian has grown up with a much better support system than Bruce did, and therefore has been actually dealing with his trauma and anger more. So while they don’t always get along, they have that strained father and child relationship growing up. It wasn’t until kind of recently, now that Damian is seventeen, that he has been more forgiving and understanding, especially towards Bruce.

But Damian was still a little sh*t. Think youngest child but times three. Love him tho. But yeah, he has a much better relationship now with Bruce than he did as a kid. As a kid, it was always strained and kind of awkward with one another. Like they didn’t know how to act with each other or were low key mad at each other at all times. But it’s better now and they’re pretty close. Sorry I hope this helps. ♥️

If you have any specific questions about Damian, I’ll be happy to answer. I’m just not exactly sure of what to say. He’s a little brat, a bit spoiled. But really efficient and funny tbh. He’s super serious when it comes to dating or if anyone is dating any of his sisters (Stephanie, Cass, and I). Like he will go undercover/follow the dates. He has no problem threatening/embarrassing people if he doesn’t like them. He’s a great Robin, very stubborn about certain things. He has a bit of OCD, especially when it comes to his art supplies or animals (things he’s very extreme about). Loves tea, dislikes (but not hate) coffee. He prefers spicy food. He loves the colors of green and blue. He likes manga and comic books, (Jon and I introduced him to it). He loves hiking. He likes small gifts, like a book, pencils, small plants, etc. He named all the plants with me in my garden. Prefers sketching/drawing and painting. He’s grown up a lot and much more mature (less stubborn/more trustful) now. He’s one of my favorite brothers tbh. (Does gloat about that). Once gave him a small, green adventurine crystal (‘cause I collect crystals) and he threw it at Tim.

I'd ne'er put much thought into flying. Snork has though, it seems. A ship that can fly, quite the thing! Imagine, another golden age fer piracy, all the way up in a different wild blue. 'Cept o'course if ye fall overboard, it's less Davey Jones an' more broken bones. At least the burial's still free! I Imagine the hole you'd make oughta be at least six feet deep. Maybe they ought t' tie rope to one another so they just dangle over the side a bit instead? [A small doodle of a grumpy looking moomin with an eyepatch dangling from a rope in the clouds below a flying ship fills the gap before the next line] 

Apologies on the grim jokes. Somethin' 'bout adventurin' brings back a bit o' the old me. Beneath my admittedly cuddly exterior these days, turns out I'm still a rough ol' sea dog at heart. Moominmama stuck a big ol' jar of things in my bag when I weren't lookin'. Lots of thoughtful things, little though they may be. A fine letter, as well. Her handwriting's a mite prettier than mine. Gon' stick it the next page over. She's a kind woman, and I've no doubt within her lies a raucous beast. Her husband writes about his "stormy youth", but I'd bet Moominmama's got some memoirs of her own t' write. 

Made landfall somewhere flat and dry in what I assume is Italy. Bound t' be a long trek to civilization, but that's all part o' the journey. Snork dropped me off, headed somewhere else. He said somethin' 'bout "making some adjustments" afore he goes off t' find his precious cargo. It's not often I find myself feeling that perhaps I'm in over me head, but if I'm not over me head, I'm at least over me snout. Got to thinkin' so much on people, and being in a strange place, and whether I'll like the food or what have ye, I ne'er even thought on where I were landing or even where I were going. Fixin' t' make camp fer now and see that I can't find my way toward something a lil more populated come morning. The adventure's only just begun.

Gem usually spent one week in Empires, then one week on Hermitcraft, then so on and so forth. If something big was happening, she usually jumped between in increments of two to three days just to catch up, but those sorts of things were few and far between now.

Tomorrow was the day of the summer solstice, and Gem was preparing to get ready over on Hermitcraft. She packed a golden-yellow dress into her bag, then some light blue eyeliner, and finally a golden hair clip that sparkled with sapphires. As she walked out of her house to go to the portal that she used to hop between servers, she ran into Joe Hills.

"Howdy, Gem," xy said, picking up its lime-green shulker box. "How are you?"

"I'm doing fantastic, thank you!" said Gem. "I'm off to Empires for the summer solstice festival tomorrow, with the sun being in the sky the longest during the day and all that."

"Ooh, a good reason to celebrate," said Joe. She tucked the shulker box under one arm and adjusted buns glasses. "I'd come visit, but tomorrow is HHH day, and besides, I don't think I can get there without the help of the Rift."

"I'd love to see you there, but I think that too," said Gem with a sigh, tucking a long strand of hair behind one ear. "Want me to bring something back for you?"

"That sounds incredible," said Joe. "What did you have in mind?"

"We have these little sun-shaped cookies with lemon icing," said Gem, making a circle about the size of the cookies with her hands. "I can probably get you a box if you want."

"That would be fantastic!" said Joe. "Do you know if the cookies are safe for the undead to eat?"

"Well, hmm," said Gem. She paused a bit. "Since they're sun cookies and the sun burns most undead, I'd normally say no, but if you're thinking of giving one to Cleo, I think they're a special case. It should be good for her to eat, unless you sprinkle arsenic over the top or something."

"Got it," said Joe, nodding seriously. Gem got the distinct impression that he was considering both her description of the cookies and the idea of poisoning them.

"I'll be going, then," she said, walking towards the portal. "Sorry to leave you hanging, but I have a lot of preparations to do today."

"It's all good," Joe said. "Keep adventurin,' Gemini Tay, and have a sun-tastic festival!"

"I certainly will!" she yelled over her shoulder with a grin as she walked off.

I headcannon Dorcas as being really artsy and crafty especially with jewelry and whatnot so I propose this: Dorcas making her and Marlene matching rings on Marlene’s birthday. Her being restlessly teased for it by the skittles and pulling like three all nighters and getting a million small injuries on her hands just to get them done and make sure they’re perfect (because Marlene deserves nothing but perfection) and her being slightly embarrassed that she put so much work into it and her just desperately hoping that Marlene likes it. Then it’s Marlene’s birthday and she decides to give her the rings later when it’s just them. Then later it’s just her and Marlene in their flat, laying down on the couch together, a movie on that they’re not really paying attention to, just them talking and laughing and spending time together and then Dorcas pulls out the velvet lined box she got that is quite big because it’s also a ring jewelry box (that dorcas bought and painted herself) so Marlene can keep all her rings in (she has a lot of rings) and not just the one Dorcas made. She hands Marlene the box and Marlene is confused and Dorcas says,“One last present for you sweetheart…hope you like it” and Marlene takes it and opens it and there are two rings inside. They’re both identical small moths outlined in silver and the only things that’s different are the wings. there’s a different crystal on each ring filling in the wings. Marlene’s moth has Lapis Lazuli wings, a sorta of royal blue colored crystal with small gold streaks running through it. Dorcas’ moth has Green Adventurine wings, and it’s a soft, light green color. Marlene is silent for a few seconds and then actually starts to tear up a bit. Dorcas is worried that she did something wrong and starts to say that she’s sorry and that if Marlene doesn’t like it she can take it back but then Marlene interrupts her by softly pressing their lips together. It’s gentle and sweet and passionate and Dorcas is so so so in love and then they pull away and all Marlene says is a breathless,”I love you…”. And that makes all Dorcas’ hard work worth it.
