Some more concept designs but this time for two guys I’ve never talked abt before oops
#keese draws#rain world#rain world oc#iterator oc#rw iterator#rain world iterator#these two are still mostly in the brainstorming phase but I do enjoy them#they share a structure and are also the worst <3#and by that I mean after the mass ascension they eventually start doing some mafia shit#synch started developing ways to carry out construction and repairs and such to the twos structure along with some renovations#the big one being to join the twos chambers so they can actually physically interact#and this gave light some ideas of ways to make sure the two would have access to enough resources to thrive long term#so they and synch worked together to develop different ways of transporting goods and supplies long distance mostly through organisms#and eventually as their fellow iterators began to slowly break down light started offering synch’s services to them#they’d use the chance to get all sorts of data scraping software into other iterators along with all sorts of other shit#and they’d use their newfound leverage over these iterators to blackmail them into giving up their resources for them and synch#often times at the threat of direct structural sabotage that they would follow up on if the iterator didn’t comply#synch is vaguely aware of the stuff that light is doing but doesn’t rly care that much since she rarely talks to other iterators#synch just wants light to be happy and would let her get away with pretty much anything

REMOTE WORK - OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES FOR DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES | iFour Technolab

One of the challenges that remote employees of Software Development companies face is overwork. It becomes difficult to balance work and life when it is under the same roof. Even though working from home means working on different days or hours, and being flexible. But some employees tend to spend more time on work during the day which is not required. Due to this, they feel exhausted, sleep-deprived, and lack of personal time.
The workload does not allow the employee to focus on the essential tasks and leads to a significant decrease in productivity.

As someone who works in the reliability sector of IT I cannot emphasize how much you have to give 0 fucks about professional standards and best practices in order to do something like what Crowdstrike did.
At the company I work for, which you have definitely heard of, there are thousands of people (including me, hi) part of whose job it is to sit in rooms for literal hours every week with the people building new features and updating our software and ask them every question we can possibly think of about how their changes might impact the overall system and what potential risks there are. We brainstorm how to minimize those risks, impose requirements on the developers, and ultimately the buck stops with us. Some things are just too risky.
Many of the practices developed at this and other companies are now in wide use across the industry, including things like staggered rollouts (i.e. only 1/3 people get this update at first, then 2/3, then everyone) and multi-stage testing (push it to a fake system we set up for these purposes, see what it does).
In cases where you’re updating firmware or an os, there are physical test devices you need to update and verify that everything behaves as expected. If you really care about your customers you’ll hand the device to someone who works on a different system altogether and tell them to do their worst.
The bottom line here is that if Crowdstrike were following anything even resembling industry best practices there should have been about twenty failsafes between a kernel bug and a global update that bricked basically every enterprise machine in the world. This is like finding out the virus lab has a direct HVAC connection to the big conference room. There is genuinely no excuse for this kind of professional incompetence.

Ballet confessions.

about time i wrote a ballet fic
You weren’t famous for it. It wasn’t part of your brand, or your content, or your online persona. It wasn’t something you shouted about or posted on Instagram. Ballet was just… yours.
A quiet hobby, a bit of discipline, a bit of escape. One that had been with you long before the cameras, the editing software, or the mad chaos of YouTube life.
So when Arthur asked where you disappeared to every Tuesday and Thursday morning, you shrugged and said, “I stretch.”
He didn’t question it. Just grinned, made some flirty comment, and moved on.
Until today.
You were running late after a private class, still in your pale wrap-around ballet top and shorts when Arthur showed up early at your flat for a video brainstorm. You were in the middle of your cooldown, standing while stretching your leg up into a split against the wall when he opened the door.
He froze mid-step.
“Jesus Christ—” he muttered, eyes widening.
You smirked without turning to look. “Told you I stretch.”
He whistled lowly under his breath, eyes very obviously glued to your silhouette. “You didn’t say you bend time and space. What the hell.”
You laughed, still holding the stretch. “Close the door. You’re letting the cold in.”
He obeyed but didn’t stop staring. “You—ballet? Like, actual ballet?”
“Since I was a kid,” you said, switching legs. “It’s never really come up.”
Arthur blinked like you’d just revealed you were secretly royalty.
“You’re insane,” he mumbled, walking around you slowly like he was trying to take in every detail. “Like in the best way. You’re out here doing... Swan Lake, and I thought you were just sleeping in on Thursdays.”
You let go of the stretch and dropped back onto your feet lightly. “Don’t make it weird.”
“Oh, it’s already weird,” he said, stepping behind you. “Here—do the leg thing again.”
“What?”
“Just—humour me.”
You hesitated, then raised your leg back into the wall split position. Arthur stepped closer, gently placing his hands on your waist to help steady you. You could feel his breath near your ear, but he stayed focused—surprisingly respectful for someone who was undeniably whipped.
“I don’t know how you’re real,” he murmured, more to himself than to you.
Your breath caught slightly. “Arthur…”
He chuckled, tightening his grip just enough to steady you. “I know. Shut up. I'm embarrassing. But you have no idea how long I’ve been into you. And now I find out you do ballet? Full ballerina? I’m done for.”
You slowly lowered your leg and turned around, still held loosely in his arms.
“You’re actually serious?” you asked, squinting slightly, almost not believing it.
Arthur blinked down at you. “I’m Arthur Frederick. Of course I’m serious. I’ve basically been in love with you since you beat me at Wii Tennis.”
You laughed, cheeks warm.
“And now this?” he gestured at your outfit, your whole existence, really. “I’ve been thirsting after you like some schoolboy.”
“You still are,” you teased.
“I absolutely am,” he agreed shamelessly.
There was a pause. Then something shifted in his gaze.
“Can I kiss you?” he asked, softer now.
You nodded.
He didn’t waste another second.
It was gentle, but eager. One of those first kisses that felt like a question and an answer at the same time. Like he’d been holding it in forever and finally got to exhale.
When you pulled back, you grinned. “So you’re not weirded out that I do ballet in secret?”
He stared at you like you’d just offered him the sun.
“I’ve never been more obsessed with you in my life.”

Writing Software I Use & Recommend
Brainstorming:
Campfire: Great for organising your thoughts and making detailed character profiles, customised maps, worldbuilding, plot organisation—amongst other features. You can write your manuscript here and post it; and they have many helpful writing tips on their blog. Here's a general overview (customisable):
Notion: Although not conventionally a writing software, I find it immensely helpful for getting my thoughts sorted out. It's organised and easy to navigate, and the interface is manageable and uncluttered. (Keep in mind it's hard to cowrite on Notion—if you're planning to, I suggest making a separate Gmail account and both logging in with that.)
Microsoft Word, with spellcheck off, in Comic Sans (I saw the font thing somewhere and hate that it works). This is what I use when writing excerpts or spontaneous ideas, and it's actually quite effective, though I couldn't tell you why.
Writing/Editing:
Reedsy: The manuscript editor is organised and lets you set writing goals, split chapters, and jot down notes for later. I highly recommend it for authors looking to self-publish—once you're done, you can format and export your book as an eBook or PDF; and you can connect with various editors and find the one that's right for your novel.
Scrivener: Although, unlike the others I've mentioned so far, this software isn't free, the formatting is great for making an outline, collecting any research and notes, and writing your manuscript.
Feel free to add on any more you know of! Hope this was helpful ❤

Random dating Joost headcanons

SFW and NSFW. +18 only! rpf below, don't interact if you are not comfortable with that
SFW
loves when you come to watch his show, knowing your eyes are on him the whole time makes it even more exciting. Winks and smiles at you whenever he comes dancing closer to the backstage where you are standing.
watching the rest of the head-liners after his show at the festival together. To avoid getting recognised, you both wear facemasks or hoodies with the hood up, but it adds to the fun. You both get a drink, sing along and dance together.
if you were not traveling with him, you always stay up to wait for him to come home. He often comes back tired after multiple sets back to back late at night. He crawls in bed into your waiting arms, head falling into your lap. you run your fingers through his hair, rub his back, whispering sweet nothings to him. He tells you about the show and the after party, all the shenanigans he got up to with his friends, his voice gets quieter and quieter as you rub his back, it turns into soft breathing with him falling asleep in your lap.
loves laying on your chest holding you close to him. Makes him feel safe and loved.
lets you play with his hair, as you sit on his lap facing him, you messily style it into different hairstyles. You give him a middle part, or brush his hair completely behind his ears and take photos of him while giggling. He acts like he is not a big fan of it, but secretly loves the feeling of your fingers in his hair and just watches you have fun.
the photo of him you took with two tiny pig tales, pink bows on each side, does numbers on social media.
you want to see how he will look like with eyeliner? Say no more, he is up for it.
in general loves every activity that involves you being as close to him as possible. Watching tv? he is right next to you, big spooning you or putting your legs on his lap. He needs to be touching you at all times.
an insane amount of inside jokes between you two. Sometimes you only need a glance at him and you both already know what the other is thinking and without saying a word, you burst out laughing at the same time.
he is your biggest hypeman. No matter if it is a small or a big project, he is ready to hype you up and give you all the motivation and affirmation he can. Sometimes it's cheesy phrases, but it works nonetheless. Even if you are simply picking out an outfit for the day, he is there to cheer you on. Hugs you from behind as you are looking into the mirror, covers you in compliments and kisses.
he is a workaholic, spends most of his free time either working on his ipad or in the studio, his brain always going a hundred miles an hour thinking of new ideas for the album or the tour. But he always makes time to plan a date with you, even if you have been dating for a couple of years, each date brings a thrill and you both crave spending quality time together.
loves when you join him in the studio while he is working. He says having you close brings inspiration ho him. You let him do his thing, while you sit on a sofa reading a book or scrolling on your phone, once in a while you hear him hum a melody to himself, while recording it to remember it and potentially use later in a song. Or he plays around with different sounds on the software. When he asks you for a rhyme to a word, you are excited to help him brainstorm. After a few hours he joins you on the sofa, burying his face into your neck kissing softly, while you suggest ideas of what to order for dinner.
loves being taken care of. it can be something small, like you bringing him a plate of food while he is deep into his work, or lather up shampoo into his hair in the shower, gently washing his day away. as you step out of the shower, you wrap a towel around him, drying him off. You lead him into your bedroom, he's had a long day, his eyes are already heavy with sleep, all he wants is to wrap his hands around you, your scent filling his nose and close his eyes.
says "I love you" as often as he breaths and it never looses the heavy meaning behind those words. He means it every time and you always make sure to say it back.
you send him a photo of the belt with a fun chunky buckle you found at the thrift store with a message "do you want me to get this for you? thought it fits your style." A smile spreads across his face, he loves that you thought of him.
gets you matching bracelets. He has your initials and you have a J.K. engraved. Often brings your hand, the one you wear the bracelet on, closer to his chest, sometimes he doesn't even seem to notice he does it, just wants it closer to his heart on an instinct.
facetimes you when he is in a car on his way to a show, sometimes it's short just to see you and hear your voice, or longer calls when he is traveling to another country. He tells you all about his day, asks questions about you. If his friends are also in the car, it becomes a group yap session. You team up with one of them to jokingly make fun of Joost for something he said or did that day. Laughter fills the room through your phone.
the biggest tease in the world. If you are shorter than him, he will use it to an advantage every chance he gets, like holding things you need above your reach. He is a better dancer than you, so he often ends up lightheartedly laughing at your attempts to replicate his dance moves. He loves that you can match his energy and understand his humour.
you tease him back as much. With every shared joke he falls inlove with you even more.
NSFW
as often as he is tired after the show, as if on a flip of a coin, he can also be wired with energy. If on a usual day the sex is great, after the show, both of you high on adrenaline, it is a 100 times better.
sometimes you don't even bother getting home first, you do it in his little room backstage. As soon as you lock the door, his lips collide with yours, hands find your waist to bring you flush against him. Shameless moans fill the room, you both know it's only the people you trust also backstage and no one will walk in.
always tries to make sure you cum first, he gets off on your pleasure. When you came or he feels you are close, he looks into your eyes asking for consent, you nod and he lets loose, hugs you as tight to him as possible still holding your hips and chases his own release, letting out heavy breaths and groans.
loves seeing your face while having sex, his hairy chest and stomach flush against yours, necklace dangling in your face with each thrust.
but also becomes absolutely entranced watching his dick slip in and out of you. If you let him cum inside, he sits back on his heels to watch the cum drip out of you, a reminder of what you just did. He will try to collect it all and push it back in hearing your moan. He likes to think he is not possessive, but doing this can absolutely get him hard again.
if he isn't cumming inside, he loves to do it on your chest or stomach.
because he loves being close to you as much as possible, it often ends in him up getting horny.
his hand slowly sneaking under your t-shirt while you are watching tv together him being a big spoon. A whimper falls from your lips as you feel him palm your tit and lightly pinch your nipple. It gets you in a mood really fast. You will have to rewind the show you were watching, as it was long forgotten when you end up getting pounded from behind or riding him.
loves having you sit on his lap. You are at your friends place on a private patio, he is smoking a cigarette, both of you in a conversation with your friends. His hand slips from your waist to your upper thigh and rests there for a while until he starts rubbing soft circles and grabbing at the soft exposed skin because of a skirt you are wearing. You turn to face him, a smirk spreading on his face, you already know you are in for a fun time when you get back home.
if you are not on his lap, but sitting on a chair beside him, his hand always finds your thigh or he has to be holding your ankle. He is also fine with just holding your hand intertwining your fingers. It grounds him and serves as a reminder that you are his and next to him.
seeing how much he loves the bracelet with his initials you are wearing, you get a necklace with a small pendant that says "klein" in cursive and decide to surprise him with it. To say he loved it, is an understatement, he kept getting hard round after round while looking at it dangling on your neck. (got carried away and wrote the whole thing on this Necklace)
#joost klein#joost klein rpf#joost klein x reader#i kind of got carried away. some of these turned out long#while writing this i simultaneously wrote a stand alone fic about one of the ideas in this hihi#joost klein smut#yapperwrites

Writing Notes: Cookbook

Whether you want to turn your own recipes into a cookbook as a family keepsake, or work with a publisher to get the most viral recipes from your blog onto paper and into bookstores, making a cookbook is often a fun but work-intensive process.
How to Make a Cookbook
The process of making a cookbook will depend on your publishing route, but in general you’ll need to work through the following steps:
Concept: The first step of making a cookbook is to figure out what kind of cookbook this will be. Your cookbook can focus on a single ingredient, meal, region, or culture. It can be an educational tome for beginners, or a slapdash collection of family favorites for your relatives. If you’re looking to get your cookbook published, a book proposal is a necessary step towards getting a book deal, and can also help you pin down your concept.
Compile recipes: If you’ve been dreaming of writing a cookbook, chances are you probably already know some recipes that have to be included. Make a list of those important recipes and use that as a jumping-off point to brainstorm how your cookbook will be organized and what other recipes need to be developed. If you’re compiling a community cookbook, reach out to your community members and assemble their recipes.
Outline: Based on your guiding concept and key recipes, make a rough table of contents. Possibly the most common way to divide a cookbook is into meals (appetizers, breakfast, lunch, dinner) but cookbooks can also be divided by season, raw ingredients (vegetables, fish, beef), cooking techniques, or some other narrative structure.
Recipe development: Flesh out your structure by developing beyond your core recipes, if needed, and fine-tuning those recipes which need a bit more work.
Recipe testing: Hire recipe testers, or enlist your friends and family, to test out your recipes in their home kitchens. Have them let you know what worked and didn’t work, or what was confusing.
Write the surrounding material: Most cookbooks include some writing other than the recipes. This may include chapter introductions and blurbs for each recipe.
Photography and layout: If your book includes photography, at some point there will be photo shoots where the food will have to be prepared and styled for camera. Traditional publishing houses will likely want to hire stylists and photographers who specialize in food photography. Once the images and text are both ready, a book designer will arrange them together and make the cover design, but you can also make your own cookbook design using software like InDesign or old-school DIY-style, with paper, scissors, and a photocopier.
Editing: If you’re working with a publisher, there may be several rounds of back and forth as your editor works with you to fine-tune the recipes and text. The book will then be sent to a copy editor who will go through the entire cookbook looking for grammar and style issues, and indexer for finishing touches. If you’re self-publishing, give a rough draft of your book to friends and family members to proofread.
Printing: After everything is laid out and approved, your cookbook is ready to be printed. If you’re printing your cookbook yourself, you can go to a copy shop to get it spiral bound, or send it off to a printer for more options.
Common Types of Cookbooks
More so than any other kind of nonfiction book, cookbooks lend themselves to self-publishing. Of course, cookbook publishing is also a huge industry, and a professional publisher might be the best route for your book depending on the scope and your reach as a chef.
Self-published: This is a cookbook made of up your own recipes, which you might give as gifts to family and friends. You can easily self-publish a cookbook online as an individual. But if having a print book is important to you, there are many options. You can print and staple together a short cookbook, zine-style. Many copy shops will also offer options for wire-bound cookbooks, and there are resources online that will print bookstore-quality softcover or hard-cover books for a fee.
Community cookbooks: A special subset of self-published cookbook made up of recipes from multiple individuals, usually to raise money for a cause or organization. Working with a group has the advantage of a large pool of recipes and testers, and is a great way to share your recipes with a larger audience while also supporting a cause you believe in.
Through a publishing house: If you think your cookbook has a wider audience, you may want to seek out a mainstream publishing house. Get a literary agent who can to publishers who can connect you with publishers who are interested in your cookbook. Large publishing houses don’t usually accept pitches from individuals, but you can reach out to small, local publishers without an agent as intermediary. To publish a cookbook through a publishing house, you’ll typically need a book proposal outlining your concept, audience, and budget.
Things to Consider Before Making a Cookbook
Before embarking on your cookbook project, it’s a good idea to get organized, and to figure out what kind of cookbook you want to make.
Photography: More so than other texts, cookbooks often include visual accompaniment. Beautiful pages of full-color photos are expensive, which is one reason publishers like to work with bloggers who can style and photograph their own food. Not all cookbooks need photos, however. Some of the most iconic cookbooks rely on illustrations, or words alone. Figure out what role, if any, visuals will play in your book.
Audience: Are you turning recipe cards into a keepsake family cookbook, or selling this cookbook nationwide? Your intended audience will greatly influence how you write and publish your cookbook, whether it’s vegans, college students, or owners of pressure cookers. You’ll need to consider your audience’s cooking skill level, desires, and where they buy their food.
Budget: Once you have a vision for what you want your cookbook to be, budget your time and resources. Do you need help to make this book? The answer is probably yes. Assemble a team of people who understand your vision and know what kind of commitment will be involved.

it's so hard to take criticisms of veilguard at face value in regard to 'straying from the concept art'. like. i work in the marketing department for a state university. i report to our director of marketing and team up with our artists and project manager everyday. our brainstorming sessions are ridiculous. they're incredibly chaotic. i throw out ideas left and right and most of them are stupid. our project manager gets overexcited and chimes in. then our social media manager responds at the actual speed of light. our artist fights the bodily urge to flee from the fucking room. none of it makes sense. we have another brainstorming session, and another after that. we start to organize the ideas three weeks later. our director daydreams about chugging vodka during every meeting. eventually our ideas make it onto our project management software and things start to come together. at some point in the *spongebob voice* distant future, we begin to formulate the actual product. i work in marketing and i literally do not know how we manage to push out consistent, high-quality products, but we do. but for those who are still confused about why ideas from the concept art were abandoned, it's because 80% of them are not actually appropriate for what the product will turn out to be. art is messy. and glorious. and it takes a team to push out something amazing, and i think that's what we got with veilguard
#obv i recognize this is subjective so bear in mind it's my take on things as a singular person who works in marketing#but godDAMN if half of our meetings aren't a giant shitshow with ppl talking over each other and the director wanting to khs#veilguard#datv#dragon age the veilguard#dragon age#veilguard positive#mine#and our team is pretty small so i can't IMAGINE working with the marketing team over there dude#i think i'd have an actual aneurysm tbh#i think i would cry every day lmfaoooo it's so overwhelming#meta analysis

Hi !! I'm a huge fan of you work, it all comes together sooo well !! Thank u for gracing us with all ur hard work :D
And if you don't mind me asking you guys, what software/website do u use to write the comic ?
Hi! Thank you so much <3 We love getting the chance to share it all with you guys as well!
For right now, the scripts of our comics are done through shared Google Docs, so it's nothing fancy lol. If you count the pre-script brainstorming as well, then I suppose Discord also counts? But for the most part it is just a bunch of docs. Ao3 is the hosting website for any and all completed fics, and if I can get my act together to refine the Sleepover script for publication we might start publishing finished scripts over there as well.
