I want a low level adventure for investigating an old abandoned (why) temple/jail? Why they have been asked to go in is the adventure but as a plot hook for a future adventure they will find a locked up vampire (how) who they can leave, attempt to kill or let go. The key thing is he will offer something if they do the latter pertainent to a later adventure.

Dungeon: The Bargain At Barrowfort

A grim history and rumours of haunting keep people away from the old fortress, Once the domain of a wicked count who was all too fond of brutality and torture as a means of keeping his power. Though it has been many years since a heroic rebellion ousted the count and his patrons from power, time has yet to banish the shadow that has come to dwell behind it's battlements.

Adventure Hooks:

Using the area's foreboding reputation to avoid detection, a band of outlaws has claimed the Barrowfort as their base, striking out at caravans and small settlements with weapons salvaged from it's old armouries. When the party eventually raids the crumbling fortress, the scent of ensuing death will awaken a long slumbering hunger; the Barrowfort's ghoulish final garrison, starved out by besieging rebels and driven to unspeakable acts that cursed them with undeath.

Local lore has it that the fortress was built on the burial mound of an ancient queen, who's tomb-curse doomed the original builders and all those who laid claim to the fort in subsequent generations. Due to a quirk of inheritance, an ailing relative of one of the PCs has left them a deed in their will, and the party best get to the root of the curse (and claim their sick new base) before it brings doom upon them.

In the dungeon's deepest vault resides the last victim of the Count's cruelty: Before his capture Ser Karagol was a ruby knight of Wee Jas, goddess of death, passion, and magic. Ser Karagol was a vampire, but he was also a dutiful and pious man, living his life according to a code that restrained his appetites and directed his long centuries of unlife to the goddess's service. The count hoped to force the vampire into sharing the "gift" of immortality, binding him with holy chains and starving him for months at a time in an attempt to break him down. Decades after being forgotten in the dungeons, Karagol is in a sorry state, slipping between lucidity and feral hunger as he struggles against his bindings. Deliberation and mercy in rehabbing the vamp can earn the party a powerful ally in both the knight and his church, but a slip of awareness might result in one of them becoming gravely hurt.

Repeated acts of cruelty and deprivation have stained the Barrowfort to it's very foundations, marking it for Yeenoghu: demon lord of insatiable hunger. Some time in the future, whether the party is holding a feast in their new hall, or when an ambitious occultist claims the ruins for their own, a portal will open and allow minions of the gnawing god to steal through.

Finally done… only took me all week… feel free to ask questions about them! (please)

Funfacts:

- Xara is based off: the End, dragons, lizards, reptiles etc., bats. The people of the Oasis are fancy but still need to wear outfits suitable for living in a Mesa so it comes around to something like Xara wears.

- Fred is based off: the Overworld, birds, deer, bears, angels. People in Fred’s Keep are all farmers/builders/creatives and from what you see in-game of what they wear, it’s similar to what Fred likes to wear. He likes to be comfy ^_^

- Romeo is based off: the Nether, cats, goats, demons/imps. Romeoburg citizens which are of COURSE called Burgers, they all wear thicker clothing for the colder environment tucked away at the mountains & fjords. There’s a lot of leather and furs, and long hair.

Armour refs

I don’t really like these but the idea is there. I needed their armours to suit their fighting styles and their general aesthetics including the ones of their towns.

Quick weapon refs

- Ending Eye is a longbow and its arrows are the sharpest hit you’ll ever get from a bow, owie

- Hoemeo is Fred’s diamond hoe, named this as a joke and it stuck, Fred couldn’t think of another name. He thought it wasn’t going to ever need to be used as a weapon so it didn’t matter. All I can say is that Romeo is lucky he wasn’t the one who died because that would have been an embarrassing death message.

- Ruby is like minecraft zenith and is very good at killing Freds

The pets

- Bonbon is a smaller-than-average creeper that is diffused and acts like a therapy cat to Romeo. He didn’t get a normal cat because he’s Romeo.

- Jean is THE Ender Dragon and was raised from a baby dragon into fully-grown Jean. She is often badly behaved and will only listen to Xara, if anyone.

- Waffles is Waffles… ya. Silly immortal chicken who also has an immortal need to peck Romeo to death

- Nugget, the old Clydesdale horse who is just happy to be there, happy lad ^_^

SB x Animal Crossing Headcanons

Freddy

His island theme would either space themed or have a woodsy feel. Maybe he would have one half of the island start off as woodsy, and then further into it it becomes space. His villagers are definitely bears and cubs, maybe one bunny villager as a homage to Bonnie (he's definitely got a high friendship with said bunny villager). He's definitely a good island representative, making sure he takes care of his island and is always building something. His island is before his own needs, so his house would probably only be up to the 2nd upgrade. He's willing to help out other players by giving them NMTs and bells, since he seems to be rich in that aspect. He doesn't change out any of his villagers, and he gets sad whenever one of them wants to move...

His island is 5 stars.

His villagers: Beardo, Ike, Megan, Charlise, Grizzly, Stitches, Maple, Poncho, Bluebear, and Sasha.

Chica

Her island is bright colored, mostly pastel pink, everything is cutesy and food related too. She definitely has little shops and decorations meant to represent food stands. She's just enjoys collecting pink items and coming up with new build ideas for the island. She definitely has perfect fruit as well. She's got the full DIY cook book completed, having an overabundance of recipes which she gives to players and friends for free whenever they visit. She's also great at happy home design. She's a master at the stalk market... she's got the best prices. She's a 4 star island.

Most of her villagers are birds and bunnies...

Roxy

Her island is car themed, with a big makeshift salon she created. She has a lot of clothes and hair styles, it's a fashion show every week. She has a lot of wands too. Her storage is running out of space because of how much shit she has...

She forces her villagers to stay, she likes them a lot. She dresses them up, even Barold. She's got a good friendship with Viviane, that's her girl. She's not rich like Freddy or Chica, but she's just having a good time hanging around her villagers and collecting clothing items.

Monty

His island is country swamp theme, one side is country the other swamp. He's not a good builder but he's trying, he's got a few furniture items he's using the build with. Freddy's always giving him stuff, as much as he doesn't want it. A lot of unread mail...

He's not focused too much on the island, but he likes island hopping and collecting resources, mostly visiting his friend's islands to hang out. He prefers fishing and filling out his critter encyclopedia, and filling the museum. He doesn't really play that much but when he does he chills out with his villagers and fishes. His favorite villager is Dobie. He's rocking at 2 stars, but he's in no rush to get 5 stars.

Bonnie

His island is 80s bowling themed with some space elements (...coughs). Any leftover or duplicate items Freddy had he'd nab to put on his own island, most of which were space themed. He likes island hopping most for resources and to increase profits. He's got four stars, he's trying to reach 5 stars so he can brag to Roxy (she's at 3 stars). Most of his villagers are bunnies, a few cubs, and a bear. Of course, he's gonna have the highest friendship with the bear villager because it reminds him of Freddy. He's definitely using his secluded beach as a little hangout spot for him and Freddy when he visits his island.

Quartzes are lower ranking gems, less common than rubies but are common enough to appear to be soileder, guards, and escorts nonetheless, in home world

Above them are the Bismuths, the builders in homeworld

And between the two are pyrites, big and strong like quartzes and Bismuths, they bring Bismuths the supplies they need to build, after all, one who's job is to build wouldn't leave their work aside to look for things to build with, no? No, not at all.

Beyond that, nothing else is special about them, but ah to be like all those... Higher gems, what kind of life do you live, when your purpose is to put all you have to find and extract things... That are not for you

What a sad life it is, no? Why am I the only one who doesn't feel right about this, why does every other pyrite seem to accept their purpose besides me

"Pyrite!"

Pyrite was snapped out of her thoughts by another pyrite from her batch, the captain or leader of said batch specifically

Scolding her about slacking off again, any more mistakes from her will not be tolerated, not after what she had done

The batch was recently caught in conflict, which brought them up to the diamonds, all because of the doing of one pyrite

One disobedient pyrite who was found keeping a collection of different findings and supplies, instead of transporting them to the batch's designated bismuth

It was a collection big enough to raise concerns about where all the items were going and why the productivity of this batch was lower than the others, when the collection was found, it was a one so big it had to be brought up to the diamonds directly

Judgement was merciful, this time at least

And the batch was given a special name... Fool's gold, a playful name given by pink diamond, however it was used as more of a sarcastic insult now to this pyrite batch by other gems

Humiliation caused the rest of the batch to grow more and more bitter of that one pyrite that caused them trouble, and to stay out of trouble their leader only grew more strict around that pyrite, making sure she doesn't do cause trouble again

Selfish, selfish pyrite, biting her tongue and and getting back to work, A lot to say, yet who was she to speak when she was in the wrong? If she doesn't feel bad for the rest of her batch whom she had caused trouble for, she should at least feel ashamed... But no

All was there was... Resentment? Anger? Self pity? Hatered? An existential crisis?

A pyrite... I'm a pyrite, my job is to mine... And mine... And mine... Yet none of what I mine is... Mine

Ah to be like those gem elites, to have anything and everything you want, imagine having your own pearl!

And yet here they are, those very gem elites that you work for and yearn to be like are the ones who make your life worse, no?

Don't other pyrites feel despair knowing they'll forever live this life?

... Why is it only me?

Well, pyrite's existential crisis aside

Shift was over, and it was time for each pyrite batch to transfer the supplies to their Bismuths

That was the one time of the day pyrite looked forward for, to meet up with a pyrite of another batch

Black pyrite

A member of some of the older pyrite batches, someone definitely more experienced, and one that seemed to be exceptionally friendlier towards this troublesome pyrite

One thing they had in common.. Actually two things they had in common

Being physically different than other pyrites, black pyrite didn't share the same yellow color as the others, and pyrite, not being as big as the other pyrites, oh she is big no doubt, but compared to other pyrites, perhaps she's slightly skinnier

And both were called humiliating names, pyrite called as fool's gold, and black pyrite called as black-leg pyrite

It made pyrite question how an off-color like black pyrite was able to keep her position as the leader of her batch

Time would pass, perhaps weeks, months, years

The two would grow closer

Until one day, black pyrite shows pyrite a map, one for a very special cave, filled with things far more beautiful than those simple rocks pyrite sees all night and day, suggesting that they sneak there together. Pyrite agreed.

... But greed would have a different word

Perhaps it was greed, perhaps it was pyrite never fully trusting black pyrite, but without the knowledge of black pyrite, pyrite would snatch the map

And it all goes down.... In the next day

Pyrite's batch was furiously looking for her since she hasn't been seen since last night, looking and looking and looking, eventually they ask the only gem that's ever been seen talking to pyrite, black pyrite

Eventually, she was forced to lead them to the cave, noticing that her map was gone she could only assume that was pyrite's doing

And the second they step foot into the cave...

BOOM!!!

...

Pyrite was brought up to the diamonds once more, this time on her own, for sneaking out of work without permission, taking supplies from a cave without permission, and exploding the cave causing the gems around to poof... And some to even shatter

... Pyrite wasn't as strong as the others, she wanted to explode the mine to... Extract what's in it, since she couldn't do it on her own, spending all night placing the explosives, once the other gems arrived looking for her, they weren't prepared for the impact of the explosion

The diamonds were furious, and this time pink diamond wasn't around to bring mercy upon pyrite

Punishment was due

(Now idk how to exactly describe what the punishment was, think something like the diamond ray)

The events of this were... Messy

...

But pyrite didn't accept her fate

No

In the middle of it, she ran off

Barely escaping, but she escaped nonetheless, escaping homeworld as a whole

a small damaged spaceship with an unknown destiny

Pyrite looked at herself, something changed.. About her

It wasn't just how her face changed, how... Her color turned black, how her gem was displaced from the center of her body to her eye, leaving a hole at the centre of her body, oh yes those are all big changes, but she even... Felt different, on the inside

It was a matter of time before pyrite's ship would find a destination

A planet where she saw... A pearl with no owner, two different gems fused together, a bismuth who makes weapons, and a quartz That shattered pink diamond.

A rebellion by the name of the crystal gems

... Gems like pyrite

And although paranoid and distrustful, she joined them, not because she was so selfless no quite the opposite, it was for protection

Pyrite... Always thinking that it's each to their own, never letting herself be vulnerable to those who want to help her

And then the gem war happened

And near it's end, pyrite was tired, tired of fighting a war that wasn't her own, she didn't want to fight anymore... But she didn't want to get back to her old life either, she she certainly didn't want to be shattered

The pressure of war was breaking her

Hiding in a cave, the final battle was brutal, causing the cave to collapse on her, causing her to poof but thankfully not to shatter, and protecting her from the diamond ray. BECAUSE IF A TRANSLUCENT SHIELD CAN PROTECT ROSE AND HER GANG FROM LIGHT SOMEHOW THEN SO CAN ROCKS COVERING YOU TILL LIGHT CAN'T REACH YOU

And her gem would be trapped in that cave... For thousands of years to come

Growing to hate the darkness and tightness of it

Rumors say one day she was found... And took fork again

Rumors say amongst humans
