we all know posty is a tiny bit of a self-centered car; he thinks highly of himself to put others down (the mistake episode highlights this pretty well) but yknow why? i imagine him being in the prime of his life, where everyone praised him a little too much, now he thinks he's this God that can't do wrong

further backing up the last one, posty was probably just like benny (the blue car) when he was a child; mean little shit

cleany and posty's relationship is something that i invest in; episodes state that posty is best friends with cap (which i can see; two self-centered douchebags being the best of friends) but cleany balances out posty's mischief by being a nice and timid car, so they are best friends in my humble headcanon

this is not part of the actual headcanons, but it think it'll be fun; the context of the picture it may sound crude, but its one of the frames i could rack out of the show where they were incredibly close to each other; cleany and posty over cap and posty any day

the reason posty has the name posty is probably some writer's pitch to the director, but i headcanon that he was destined to be a mailvan; his creators specifically made him to become a mailvan and that's why his name is related to mail

hi! i feel like you’ve talked about this but i can’t find the post. i was wondering what your issues are with the personal essay bc i literally hate personal essays the way that people do them nowadays. thank you!!

ok prefacing this by saying i'm not, like, opposed to people talking about personal experience or connecting that to social commentary or whatever, BUT i do think the genre conventions of the personal essay as it presently exists tend toward solipsism in a way that's not even, like, artistically interesting. like i frankly just cannot muster the energy to be invested in someone else's personal revelations when that person is journalist #485948 with a communications degree from nyu and the same blogosphere voice as everyone else in the game. it's like hearing about someone else's dream. you care if it's someone you know or if there's a connection that runs from individual experience -> wider commentary. but like, so many of these publications go the other way around, where any invocation of the rest of the world is a tool for the writer to understand themselves. it's just not interestingggg. i also see these types of essays in the context of a broader quasi-artistic set of assumptions about, like, the inherent value of disclosing capital-t trauma, which again is not something i'm inherently opposed to, but the expectation that we all SHOULD do so bothers me, is never situated within any critique of psychiatry or effort to provide non-institutional social support, and tends to rely on the same stock institutionally-approved recovery narrative, which makes sooo many of these pieces feel cookie-cutter. like, it's not that i think the 'personal essay' (and, yknow, define that, lol) is inherently worthless, but when produced by the same handful of age 18–49 publications relying on clicks and employing writers with the same institutional credentials and training.... it just becomes so dull so fast lmao

I’m keeping up with it and it’s just not very engaging in my opinion. Out of 5 episodes 3 statements were written by guest writers, and like. You can very much tell (derogatory). Something I loved about TMA was Jonny’s writing, and it’s just. Not here anymore.

(And in my opinion I don’t like the new characters. They’re all sort of annoying. This show is extremely office banter based, very little is it about the statements I feel. There’s no discussing them or afterthoughts, they’re read and ignored. Idk people will hate me for this but I just don’t like how it’s all set up, it really is a completely new show.)

Also: It’s not confirmed Augustus is Jonah. It’s all 100% speculation and guesses. And like that alone is not a reason to listen because he only read a single statement and that’s it like the voices atm don’t play any actual role in the story, and they most likely won’t (Jonny and Alex keep pushing that you don’t need to know about TMA to listen to TMAGP so I doubt they’d be like “THIS IS JONAH MAGNUS THE CREATOR OF THE MAGNUS ARCHIVES AN INSTITUTE THAT”- etc etc yknow?)

You had been visiting LA with the triplets and Maddie for a few days. It was normal for you to go with them, as you had known the boys since your freshman year of high school. 

   You had changed since then, and you grew as a person and realized you were not a girl, and you did not want to be perceived as a girl. In your junior year of high school, you came out as a transgender male and you were thankful that the people around you had accepted you. 

    Now, you and the others were at the swimming pool that was close to your hotel room. The sun had just began to set and every you looked there was a soft, yellow-orange glow. It was beautiful honestly, and it was perfect for taking photos. Everybody else looked almost ethereal in their photos, and then there was you. 

   Somehow your brain had always found away to pick apart every photo of you and make you hate it. You didn’t like your jawline; it wasn’t sharp enough. You didn’t like your body; your hips were too wide. When you were in the boys’ Youtube videos, you absolutely despised the way your voice sounded. You grew silent as the others laughed and enjoyed themselves.

   You were sitting in one of two poolside seats. You were sat next to Matt, and you were both facing Nick and Maddie. Chris was sitting at your table with the umbrella coming out from the center. And the envy you got from the triplets was unmatched. You wanted to be able to walk around shirtless like Chris, you wanted to be as tall as Nick, and you wanted to speak softly but still be seen as masculine like Matt. Their flat chests, boyish charm, and the fact that they had boy childhoods made you so incredibly jealous. Not just jealous. 

  It made you feel so incredibly dysphoric. 

  “Guy’s, I think I’m gonna turn in for-for the night.” You spoke up. 

  Nick looked at you. 

“Why? It’s barely night. Is something wrong?”

“No, it’s just, I don’t feel very well. I’m going back to the room.” you said before grabbing your cell phone and sliding it into your pocket. 

“Do you want one of us to go with you?” Madi suggested. 

 “No. It’s fine, I can go myself.” you said as you started walking. 

“I’ll be ready in time for Denny’s though!” you called towards them from a distance.

“Good!” Madi yelled back. 

     You silently went back to your hotel room. As you entered the bathroom and saw yourself in the mirror, you felt so dysphoric. You placed your hand on your jaw, and turned your head. You tried to make the best of your situation by going over the gender-affirming things that have happened while you were here. At the grocery store, the cashier said “Have a good one, man.” which was good, Earlier that day, a woman had referred to you and Chris as “young men” which felt amazing. This thinking and recalling wasn’t doing enough, and you still felt too feminine. You hated it. You were snapped out of your thoughts when you heard the door begin to open. 

  You stepped out of the bathroom to go see who had entered, and it was Matt. 

“Oh- Hey dude. I just came here because you left your sunglasses on the table. 

He held out your glasses. You picked them up and muttered a small “thanks”. 

  “Be honest. What’s wrong.” he said abruptly. 

It caught you off guard, but you knew he had good intentions. 

“Dysphoria.” you finally admitted, your posture tense and stressed. 

   Right as you finished your sentence, Matt was hugging you. His arms were wrapped around you tightly and you felt yourself become less tense.

"I know it's tough, and I'm sorry, man." he said before quickly pulling away.

   Somehow, Matt always appeared to know what you needed when you were feeling dysphoric. A hug, comforting words, or just some company. 

"Would you like to talk about it?" he asked, looking directly into your eyes.

You thought about it for a second, then shook your head slowly. 

"Okay, uhm-" he furrowed his brows in thought. “Would you like a pep talk? Would that even help right now? I’m sorry if it doesn’t-”

“Yes. That would help.” you looked him in the eyes. 

   Matt was always trying his best when it came to your dysphoria, even if he had no idea what he was actually “supposed” to tell you. Miraculously, he’d always get it right. 

“Okay, sit there and listen to me.” he gestured to the high chair near the kitchen counter top. 

   The two of you were seated next to each other, and Matt began speaking again. 

“I know you probably feel like shit right now, and you do not deserve it at all. I’m very sorry that you feel like this, but I need you to remember that the way you’re feeling- everything you’re feeling right now- is temporary. Pretty soon you’ll be feeling better than a mother fucker, and we’ll be back home in Boston.” he said, his eyes meeting with yours every few seconds. 

  Your lips curled into a smile as his sentence ended. 

“Listen man, I love you like you're my own brother, you know that. I need you to know that we're the same. We think the same, we dress the same, hell- we even talk the same sometimes. You aren't afraid to stand up for people and sometimes- you're more of a man than I am.” he turned his head to look at you, signaling that his pep talk was done.

You let what Matt had just told you settle into your mind. He thought you were more of a man then him. You felt your eyes almost wet, but you stood up and hugged him before tears could fall.

"Thank you, Matt. That's exactly what I needed to hear." you mumbled as you held him close.

He wrapped his arms around you and rubbed up and down your back.

"It's no problem, I'm here for you. Always." He replied.

Cool Hand Fluke - 7/10

Finally, an episode about the mermaids that isnt shit... That is a sentence I just said.

Minimus is Missing - 10/10

Every pegasus in the kingdom has been Pied Pipered away and he mastermind behind this is revealed to be a spoilt kid wizard who really wanted a pegasus for his birthday and decided to steal every horse in the kingdom cos he can. He also gets a rock ballad villain song. Yknow, this show really surprises you sometimes.

Cedric Be Good - 9/10

After all this time, Cedric finally has the amulet by swapping it for a fake copy and goes through the five stages of grief cos he doesnt realise he stole his surrogate niece's most priced possession.

Princess Adventure Club - 1/10

Oh, a new princess who's an adventurer? Now that sounds cool! I wonder if there'll be regular adventures she'll take Sofia and the gang to- OH MY GOD AMBER CAN YOU STOP BEING A BITCH FOR 5 MINUTES?? This girl's characterisation really is the prime example of "depending on the writer"

Minding the Manor - 4/10

Aunt Tilly instructs Sofia to housesit her mansion for an afternoon whilst dealing with gargoyles. Then its revealed Tilly wants to pass onto Sofia the role of being a errand girl to everyone else's domestic problems, even though she's like 8

The Secret Library - 6/10

Okay, not a bad start to this Secret Library arc and its a good story about Minimus making amends with his free-spirited big brother. Also Cary Elwes is the villain in this, which was a delight to see. Also Merida's in this and she gives the last good advice out of all the Disney Princesses to Sofia.

New Genie on the Block - -3/10

This is the most whack shit Ive ever seen in a kids cartoon. So a genie is loose in Tangu and theres a genie patrol, who is run BY a genie and he's designed to look like an American cop for some reason and Sofia becomes a honorary deputy throughout the episode. Their flying carpets are designed to look like American police cars but we're in fucking Arabia. WHAT IS THIS DESIGN CHOICE? The kid genie that's supposed causing trouble is just doing party tricks for a group of kids but Sofia and the genie cop chasistise him anyway for breaking the rules (oh yeah there's genie rules and unlike Aladdin, there's like a bajillion of them even though this kid genie isnt even doing that much rulebreaking) and thus ends up causing more trouble. Wow, its like the actual American police. I dont know what the fuck the writers were smoking but its fucking hilarious

The Fliegel Has Landed - 1/10

Jessica DiCicco plays an mean alpha bitch fairy who's just moved next to the trolls and its up to Sofia and Cedric to teach this bully a lesson? Nice! I cant wait for them to squash this nasty bug- oh no theyre redeeming her, for fucks sake!!!

The Princess Ballet - 10/10

Kari is a wonderful side character and Sofia and Amber helping her overcome her crippling perfectionism whilst practicing ballet and hiring a special tutor to teach her in ways she can understand before the big show is super sweet. THIS. This is what Sofia the First is all about

All the Sprite Moves - -5/10

Vivian has moved into a new castle and hates it, so she enlists the help of the sprites to make the castle haunted so her family can leave. There was also a subplot where Clover gets drunk on love potion berries and obsesses over Crackle and apparently these berries are a plot device cos Sofia uses them again to drug the sprites to leave the castle. That was really weird, dont ever do that again.

Sofia in Elvenmoor - 10/10

The most kid friendly acid trip episode you'll ever get. A good lesson about being focussed on what you're doing and not getting distracted by whats around you. Also there was an adorable moment when the King tries to communicate with one of Sofia's critter friends (even though he cant understand squirrel) when he's trying to find her. He also didnt want to cut down an ancient tree when his men were constructing a road and wanted them to build around it, even before he noticed Sofia was in the tree. King Roland's environmentally friendly and thats just neat.

Stormy Lani - 1/10

They really pulled the magical native stereotype with Lani and had the gall to have a white girl teach an indigenous girl to calm her temper cos her emotions change the weather. WOW. That is Steven Universe levels of racist.

Lord of the Rink - 7/10

Huh, imagine that. A good Prince Hugo episode . This one's a flip-around from Just One of the Princes where Hugo worries his interest in a feminine sport like ice skating will cause his friends and his father to mock him and Sofia reassures him to just do the sport and not worry what others think. Nice to see theres no gender double standard in this show.

The Secret Library: Olaf and the Tale of Miss Nettle - 0/10

Once I found out Ms Nettle was getting redeemed, I skipped through the entire episode cos im so DONE with this show redeeming every villain in its path. Why cant we teach kids that sometimes people are just dicks?

Gone With the Wand - 9/10

We meet Cedric's niece, Calista, who adores her uncle as much as Sofia does. Now im entirely convinced Cedric cared for Sofia all this time cos she reminds him of Calista and I find that so sweet. They then go to Merlin's castle where Cedric goes into fanboy mode, manage to imprison an evil sorceress and have Calista learn not to steal stuff thats her favourite colour cos its still stealing. Only downside is why that evil sorceress had to be Morgana. Girl gets way too much hate in fantasy stories.

Bad Little Dragon - 7/10

Weird title aside, its a great Crackle episode where her jealousy over Vivian's new baby dragon is completely justified as the new dragon is not only an international jewel thief, but an adult dragon just with a baby body and talks like an old school gangster. This is the funniest shit

Bunny Swap - 6/10

It's a solid Clover episode where he gets his privilege checked by his doopleganger

Her Royal Spyness - -7/10

Dads and Daughters Day - 8/10

Sofia gets a similar problem like what she had in Mom's the Word, this time its with her dad. Her and Amber's class are going on a field trip with all their dads and after Hildegarde's remark about Roland not being Sofia's real dad, Sofia fears that because she doesnt have memories of previous dad and daughter trips like Amber, she doesnt believe she's truly his daughter. Cue heartfelt speech from Roland about how he'll always love her and in comes my unintelligble bawling.

Elena and the Secret of Avalor - 8/10

A Sofia the First episode tackling the destruction that imperalism causes to a nation, a new princess protagonist named Elena getting the upper hand and finally getting her crown, her family and her kingdom back from an imperalist bitch? Well, damn, I'm impressed. Although Sofia's family couldve done a lot more and the idea of a Latina princess being trapped inside an amulet that was used by white princesses really bothers me. Like, why couldnt Elena just be in forced exile thanks to the villain or have her be trapped in a magic mirror or some shit?

The Tale of the Noble Knight - 4/10

Kevin Michael Richardson plays an amazingly hammy knight. Shame he wasnt in a better episode.

The Bamboo Kite - 7/10

Nice to see the lesson of respecting both old and new technology and resources. Its just neat.

Beauty is the Beast - 9/10

This time, Sofia gets summoned to help a princess. She meets Charlotte, who's been turned into a beast as a punishment because she was racist to a goblin. Sofia tries to get the goblin and princess to get along and they end up being besties cos they both nerd out over royal stuff. Honestly, I wish Charlotte kept her beast form. Its very ugly cute.

Cauldronation Day - 2/10

Lucinda's having some witch graduation ceremony but her two new friends are both fighting over the position to be the witch of honour so Sofia tries to make them become friends, even though they clearly arent good enough friends to Lucy. Its fucking infuriating how Lucinda never puts two and two together and just makes Sofia her witch of honour and tell her friends to fuck off cos Sofia is right there being supportive.

Camp Wilderwood

Yknow that spoilt wizard kid Wendell from Minimus is Missing? That kid who stole a kingdom's pegasi cos he really wanted one instead of a magic lute? That kid who even took over a small kingdom for the evulz? Lets redeem him and have him befriended by James all because htey both hated going to a summer camp. Great, a terrible slap-dash villain redemption and a mediocre James episode. Man, this kid never gets a good episode.

Royal Vacation - 5/10

"See, parents? The best way to get your family to spend more time with each other is by forcing them to go on vacation! Even if the vacation turns out to be 90 percent a disaster. As long as you come home feeling happy at the end, that's all that matters!"

Hexley Hall - 8/10

Sofia has unlocked new amulet powers and Cedric takes her to his old wizard school to meet Billy West wizard to get more info about the amulet. I love how halfway throughout the episode, Cedric gets interested in Sofia's amulet and you'd think "oh no, is he gonna go back to stealing it again to take over Enchancia?" but thes its immediately dropped as Cedric's friendship with his pet raven suddenly becomes the focus and he goes into papa wolf mode when Sofia is threatened by Billy West wizard later on and he didnt even care about the amulet. Dont know if that was either a writing flub or an intentional twist, but I like it.

The Princess Prodigy - 10/10

Vivian gets manipulated by an evil musical baron who's preying on her musical talent to fuel his own musical magic, by isolating her from her bandmates and making her lash out at her friends, causing them to help her come to her senses and take down the baron. Cue an epic Scott Pilgrim style music magic battle between Sofia, Vivian and the others and you have an absolute baller episode.

One for the Books - 9/10

A nerdy prince named Desmond, who hasnt had a major appearance since Enchanted Science Fair, struggles with an eccentric assignment giving by the best teacher in the entire school (Seriously, I love Mr P, he's such a cool unorthodox teacher and those are the best. He reminds me of my old geography teacher when I was at school) and he's too embrassed to ask for help since he's usually the top student. A good lesson about never being afraid to ask for help and dont give magical growing food to an already magical plant. This is how you get Piranha Plants

the toaster that you can only refer to in the first person (SCP-426 “I am a toaster”): I can only be referred to in the first person. I think I’m a very funny scp, despite the thing about me causing people to harm themselves in order to become more like a toaster, but that’s standard scp bullshit

the regenerating cake (SCP-871 “Self-Replicating Cake”): cake that replicates itself every day and could theoretically end the world

SCP-963: ok look I KNOW he’s a meme and he’s earned his reputation as a meme but I think a lot of scp writers lean too hard on Dr Bright as a force of chaos and fuckery when he can actually be a really interesting character if you. do something with him. Like hehe silly man but also the inherent horror of immortality. Like Bright being sillygoofy is great and I think it’s good but sometimes that darker part kinda gets thrown away yknow. I put this down here because aside from its connection to Bright, SCP-963 isn’t super interesting tbh. All the cool things about it are connected to Bright, who tends to be a very hit or miss (and somewhat controversial) character from what I’ve seen.

SCP-021-J “Evil Water Bottle”: I love evil water bottle it makes me giggle every time I see it. the discourse this thing started is legendary. it’s a joke scp but it’s real to me. evil :(

About the tokyo revengers thing; the mangaka (wakui) got hate for the ending of the manga feelin poorly paced/slapped together (same criticisms a lot of manga endings get basically). I also had issues with it, but I've seen wayyyyy worse endings so it doesn't really phase me lol

And now I've seen people saying this new manga is a copy of tokrev because it also has gangs and supernatural stuff...like wakui can't just, yknow, like to write about that stuff.

Not the biggest tokrev fan, and just skimmed the chap of the new manga, but it seems like just typical anime fandom overdramaticizing everything :/

This is gonna sound rude, but that just sounds silly as hell to be upset because a mangaka wants to write with am aesthetic and such from the last work.

🌿 ⇢ give some advice on writer's block and low creativity

I try to take small breaks, though I do want to try writing once a day at some point when my mental health is better. I know it’s like “why not start now” and it’s just I’m in a lull right now of creativity lol. I’ll get there eventually! I do have two db fics in the works (as well as my lotr wip already published, though I don’t know when I’ll update it heh……)

Anyway, I say def listen to a lot of music. Read books, honestly do anything that’s creative with a story involved. It’s never a bad thing to draw inspiration from things :) Right now I’m taking a short break to hang it with a friend, but I plan to write again sometime this weekend. Just let your imagination run wild!

Fun fact about me it’s REALLY hard for me to actually hate characters. Like truly genuinely. Unless they did something truly irredeemable I usually at least tolerate them. Even db rn I haven’t truly hated a character, I find them all charming in some way.

But if I HAD to say, I’ll go for db since yknow.

Master Roshi. We all know why he’s here lol. I’ve become desensitized to the old man pervert trope long before seeing him, but still. He’d be such a catch otherwise, cause

-He is a good teacher. He gave Tien the reigns to become a better person, he made sure Goku n Krillin stayed humble, he had them do good things for people as their training. It’s admirable.

-While sometimes he does lament the fact that he used to be the strongest, he also desperately still wants to help even when things are hopeless and out of his power range. The way he wants to help with Z threats is so sad, you can tell he feels awful about not being able to do anything.

-He has cool drip. Goku is right to take his sunglasses all the time I would too

You know something I find annoying?

"[Insert comic book character] is so out of character in [Elseworld material]!"

You realize that no comic book character has consistent characterization, right? Like, in mainline comics?

Do you realize how many different writers comics have had? Writers for the same character who sometimes didn't read their history or straight up hate them for no reason and ruin them?

Like, people will wholly recognize Kory's "ooc-ness" in Red Hood and the Outlaws, or that Heroes In Crisis was "ooc" for Wally West and ignored it or made their own fixes (before DC backpedalled from the sheer backlash) but won't do the same for other characters.

My specialty being the Batfamily, I know people ignore some comics.

Bruce Wayne has canonically been both emotionally constipated to the point of not telling his children he loves them, but has also at times been very blunt about it because it's a fact.

Bruce also has, at times, hit his children. I personally ignore most of these instances.

Dick Grayson is overall been written as a kind and compassionate, if sometimes angry, person. Yet there's the canon history of him telling Babs "Don't make me regret having elevators put in this building" and sleeping with her to tell her he was marrying someone else.

Dick has a history of both being seemingly demisexual and also being slut-shamed.

Jason's personality has been thrown every which way and has too many times been given to writers who hated him. His character lacks consistency to the point where most people ignore his characterization outside of Under the Hood because it was huge for his character. Like, Battle For the Cowl was horrible; he was basically made a psychopath purely for the drama.

Tim's behavior, and the "Teen Titans" as a whole was so bad in the New 52 that it's overall ignored and/or retconned. One example I can think of is when Tim apparently slept with Cassie and also Solstice (who was seeing Bart, though this is Bar Torr not precious bean Bart Allen but still) despite Tim historically both being faithful despite being repeatedly accused otherwise and also being hesitant about sex. This was bad enough that it was retconned he was possessed by Trigon.

Stephanie is a mixed bag, in part because early misogyny but yknow.

Do I need to talk about Cass? There's a whole area about her turning against her core "Don't kill" tenent and becoming an assassin and trying to lure Tim to her side and kill him when he refused. This had to be retconned that she was drugged and manipulated by Deathstroke if I'm remembering right.

Outside the Batfam: remember when Clark fucking Kent had a machine that turned people black for Some Reason and Lois used it? And then asked Superman if he would love her even I she never changed back and he dodged the question?

Like...comics aren't like books where there's one consistent writer, or a TV or movie where there's a semi-consistent board of writers. These people change throughout this large history of these characters. Some of them are going to make mistakes. Some of them are going to be assholes who don't respect the characters.

Like, yes, complain when they are written very wrong so DC can know, but understand that "in-character" can be very loosely interpreted.

To add onto your post about misogyny (everything you said is incredibly true, btw), writing female characters as one dimensional people who can do no wrong and make no mistakes feels really misogynist to begin with. This is a ""strong female character"" caricature instead of, yknow, an actual person with depth and complexity. Which by definition HAS to include some faults and weaknesses, she can't just be Better Than Everyone all the time. There are exceptions of course, but in most cases I find it to just be lazy writing, it allows the writer to avoid putting any actual effort into writing a female character. The end result, imo, is almost as flat as if you just wrote some weak damsel in distress instead

everyone always want their problematic women but can't actually handle them when they have more dimension than, say, "righteous"

like people DO still do this with male characters too, but it's more balanced with the existence of people who genuinely enjoy them being fucked up, and of course the lack of societal baggage of hating them because theyre fucked up (when it's a non-white male character it's an entirely different story ofc)

i made that post originally because i saw someone saying it's unfair that people like zuko but hate azula when theyre both raised in the same abusive behavior and my first thought was that uh im sure some people's hatred for her is based on misogyny, but there's also this very glaring, obvious reason, in which she enjoys being a colonizer and part of the ruling class, while her brother has always been described as "too soft" (too moral)

just fyi i enjoy azula's character. she's a VERY fun villain.

as a kid i wasn't interested in female characters much, the male characters were almost always written better (oh and turns out im fucking gay so that contributes to the disinterest LMAO) but but but after i stepped back from fandom for a bit and enjoy things at my own pace? it becomes so much easier to find things i love in various female characters with no pressure to like them to prove that im not a misogynist and also because i allow myself to dislike several female characters because i found them annoying

You have a way with words that just makes me break and heal and smile and cry and I hope you appreciate that precious talent of yours as much as you should <3 cmi is a work of art from start to finish, and it is definitely the kind of story that will stick with me for a while. look, aemond is gonna become a horrible person, no doubt about that, but what would be so wrong to portray him as someone NOT wanting to be a kinslayer and killing his nephew right off the bat, while he’s still a teenager? we gotta remember that aemond is what, 19 years old? kids who have never known wars other than petty family feuds, they are just entering the horrid area of destroying and hating each others to the point of annihilation. now about vhagar *shrugs* i don’t know which direction the writers of the show will go with on that one. i think it was pretty obvious how they differenciated dragon bonds like daemon’s to caraxes, laena’s to vhagar to jacaerys to vermax or even tbh syrax and rhaenyra, where the dragons were put to chains and “forced” to obey (y’know, as dany said “a dragon is not a slave”), rather than properly claimed. maybe the writing will go with vhagar never truly accepted aemond and tbh, i wouldn’t be upset about that. as for daemon *shrugs* truly idk what you expected, yes there is love but it doesn’t change the fact that daemon is a dangerous, volatile and angry man, especially seeing his whole family’s legacy (because he sure doesn’t consider alicent’s kids to viserys as his kin) being destroyed by his worst enemy (otto). so ofc he’s gonna be moody and shitty. it’s not true pure, uwu love, it’s not gonna be that with a character like daemon, or even with rhaenyra. it’s also a perfect occasion to show the grip male characters and patriarchy have over either alicent or rhaenyra. they’re the ones suffering, whether on episode 9 (where alicent is the only one crying over viserys’ death or being tormented over the things happening) or episode 10 (with rhaenyra giving birth and then losing lucerys). that’s not a surprising angle coming from the show, and yknow, idc, throw all the male characters under the bus because in westerosi memory, it’ll all be blamed on rhaenyra and alicent *shrugs*

"I don't have a binary at all" You added a chuckle to your sentence as you faced the vastness, while the machine beside you, stared at you with a questioning face

You, Y/N, were an extra AI from the company that created you, the Regime, but who stole all the attention was Squid, the best AI that the entire regime created. You thought you'd never have a word with Squid, I mean, look at him compared to you! He is considered one of the best AI in the world, and you? You were like him, but you were less technologically advanced than Squid, but no! You and Squid managed to have a healthy and good friendship, you honestly like Squid's presence as you don't have many Regime workers checking on you unlike Squid.

Currently, the entire Regime is in the dark, all the workers have left, you believe there are some people working overtime, but well, as long as they don't bother. You, in your robotic body, were sitting with your back against the wall that Squid's giant screen was on, the screen was black and off, because right now, Squid's consciousness was in the robotic body that was designed for him recently. Sometimes you even question why the Regime gave you a robotic body before Squid, huh, maybe that's a stupid writer's mistake? Oh whatever.

You laughed, and faced Squid "No, no! Not like that. Technologically yes, I'm made of binaries, but not in identity, in the gender specifically."

"I'm not in the male or female gender binary, Squid. I'm just being what makes me happy" You calmly explained it to Squid, you had to admit, you got kinda happy to explain this to Squid.

"Oh, i see. Interesting..." He muttered the last part, and silence returned, and without a subject, you went back to staring at the dark and empty tables of the Regime.

"To be honest, I actually feel like I've experienced the same thing." The machine commented

This night, it was more than great for you, you hoped it would just end ok, with Squid accepting your gender identity and etc. But it turned out that he understood you, and even "come out" to you, telling the stress of what it's like to be who people think you should be.

Turned out you felt a lil' bit less alone than you ever were
