like, hear me out. If no one helped Kino escape then he would still be there. And the ISB will be majorly interested in this prison break.
And since he and Cassian left the two people from the command center alive, they can also identify Kino as one of the leaders of the revolt. So the ISB is gonna interrogate him and it won't be pretty.
And after that? Well, it's the empire. They take pleasure in sadism and figuring out how they can ruin a person's life the most. So they won't just kill Kino. No, they will just transfer him to a different prison, give him 30 years or something as a sentence, the time doesn't really matter. The point is, they want to make clear that he will never ever have the chance to get out again. That he will die a prisoner.
Sorry but I'm just so emotionally affected by this because I loved Kino's arc, how he overcame his incredible fear and led the men to freedom, knowing he won't have a part of it. One of the bravest characters and one of the best arcs in the show

"You pulled me from the river. Why?"
"I don't know."
"Yes, you do."

i'm dying over that reveal. truly. truly. because on paper, the concept that ruby's mother was just an ordinary person and what made her so special was this belief everyone had feeding into her own mythology, creating something larger than life, is actually pretty cool. and, yeah, from wild blue yonder we know the doctor absolutely handed the power of suggestion over to an unknown entity that made it something tangible.. so it works.
sort of
but like. that 15 year old girl decided to drop her baby off at a church in the middle of the night in the most ostentatious, medieval looking cloak and then proceed to point mencingly at the road sign on the off chance the security camera would pick her up and that would somehow give someone the idea to name her daughter after said road sign??
i'm just saying... if that's the way you handle giving your baby up for adoption then there is absolutely nothing ordinary about you

Logan gives off such powerful butch lesbian energy in his plaid shirt in that last scene. Where are the AU fics with him working at Home Depot and Wade being a single father to an ugly dog who's obsessed with him and takes on more and more dangerous home DIY installations just for an excuse to go into the store and interact with his man. Like he just shows up increasingly more and more injured as the days go by, and Logan's forced to go check on him one day when he doesn't appear at his regular time. Maybe someone gets conveniently stuck inside a dryer for plot purposes.

Some of y'all trying to encourage empathy for these unethically wealthy people, who agreed to be bolted in to a metal tube, that was unapproved, unsafe and was controlled by a fucking off brand playstation controller from 2011 just for a cute lil death tourism trip is why we as a society will never be free.
They went to a part of the ocean that is so deep, more people have been to space than that far down. With a man who said safety shouldn't be a concern. Oceangate literally fired someone for saying that the window wasn't going to be able to withstand those depths. They'd lost another vessel before for 5 hours. Like plllsss the self preservation left the room. This whole situation is absurd.
Even this man's own stepson doesn't give a FUCK and you want me to? Nuh uh you have the wrong one I'm afraid😭😭

thinking about Charles never having learned his mother tongue properly, only being able to speak it in broken bits, because his mother never got to teach him and his father never encouraged it. and he went to some British boarding school where he was certainly not going to learn from either.
then, after death, he wants so desperately to learn it, to speak it, to connect to himself in that way. and he has the time now.
Edwin offers to help him. They learn it together, spending nights going over lessons. It becomes their thing, their way to communicate with each other when they don't want other people to understand them (and for shits and giggles).
thinking about Charles connecting to his culture in this way with Edwin, because Edwin wants to learn about Charles, wants to help him with this.
ps: and then (ty @hartigays for this one teehee) established relationship payneland spending time together, Charles running his hands through Edwin's hair while Edwin tries to get them through another lesson. it becomes too distracting and they end up foregoing it for a bit to fucking kiss about it instead.
