#but am I hype about Thrawn

I NEED more Boba content. I really do. And I genuinely hope we get more. Obviously I’ll just have to write more to fill the void (and I will) but, but…
I’m just saying…
✨THRAWN✨

I love the small human moments in these aggressively competence porn-flavoured books sooo much.
I'm reading the scene where Thrawn invites Ziara/Ar'alani to go out with him as a thank you for her help with his kinda-sorta baby's first court martial, and it's so so realistically awkward and so so funny.
She is all hyped while preparing for it because hey, a tall and whip-smart cadet invited her out and oooohhh, perhaps there'll be music or dancing. But he brings her to an art gallery and takes the excuse to talk about his special interest for hours.
At some point he realizes she's not having as much fun as he is and openly goes "Oh :( I am boring you, am I?"
After a moment of awkward silence that literally radiates out of the page, she tries to salvage the thing by suggesting they go to her place so she can show him her sculptures. Any possible implications of this go completely over his head. He's confused as to why she is even suggesting it.

tl;dr - I want nothing but good vibes when it comes to Ahsoka and I will be blocking shit if I have to.
I am a huge Rebels fan, that show sort of changed my relationship with Star Wars and got me shipping and making art and on a personal note it played a huge part in me discovering my gender identity and sexuality. Then came the Thrawn books and I fell in love with reading again and started writing again and it saved my life.
I am so hyped for this Ahsoka show in ways you could not imagine. I am not going to be normal over it and I know I will love every second of it. I watch Star Wars for the world and the story, whatever may happen.
I will post art and memes and theories and long ass rambles about everything I loved in that weeks episode. I will not be engaging in any negativity, at all. Tags will be blocked, people may get unfollowed, but I remember the joy in the room when that trailer dropped at SWC23 and I remember going on discord to try and keep that joy going and seeing nothing but bitter unhappy people who just had to find fault.
I studied toxic fandoms for my dissertation and how they work, I am familiar with the life cycle of a fandom and know all the signs of toxicity and Star Wars fans are a particularly bad case (not all of course, many of you are amazing people who just want to share love for this show) My area of research was actually in gatekeeping and where that comes from and we are probably going to see a lot of Rebels and Thrawn fans turn the gatekeeping up to 11 and I just don’t want to have to watch that.

Thoughts on Ahsoka so far (Episode 4)
I could talk about what I enjoyed about this episode, like Sabine's emotional conflict or the lightsaber fights, or how great Diana Inosanto, Ray Stevenson, and Ivanna Sakhno are in their roles, or even how Ahsoka felt more rounded as a character this episode than previously.
I could also talk about everything else.
I could talk about the bizarre decision to cgi/de-age Hayden Christensen when he is already a middle-aged actor playing a middle-aged (and dead!) character.
I could talk about how Hera feels so flattened as a character in 2.5 hours Ahsoka compared to how alive she feels in 30 minutes of Rebels.
I could talk about how ludicrous an idea is one great military genius single-handedly reversing the fortune's of a crumbling empire, and how Filoni has bought into the Thrawn-hype that Timothy Zahn himself tried to dismiss.
I could talk about Filoni playing favorites with Ahsoka and bending the story around her.
I could talk about how annoying it is that the New Republic has been reduced to squabbling bureaucrats who exist only to get in the way of the military heroes, among Filoni's long list of reactionary politics.
I could talk about how irritated I am that all this is so that a white American man can smash his action figures together on-screen and ask us to pay Disney to watch him.
I could talk about the casual use of genocide in SFF merely for an individual character's sympathy points, and then immediately moving on.
I could talk about how the three main actors of color are 1) a transphobe credibly accused of a hate crime, 2) playing a lightwashed version of the character, and 3) playing the scary ethnic "indistinguishable-from-humans-but-actually-not-human-alien" sorceress.
But I'm tired today, so I'll just leave this as a list of complaints.

[OoC, contains !spoilers! for Ahsoka ep. 6]
Sadly, the Ahsoka Show did the one thing I feared: it ruined Thrawn as a character. While many discuss his bodily features and presentation, I really don't have an issue with that. There can be numerous reasons outside of the control of the crew why they had it to do and as many in-universe explanations. Yes, it contrasts Thrawns philosophy of training body and mind to keep in shape, but he is an old man by now who lived 30 years or so in exile.
The thing is:
I would've wished they had talked about that in the series too. Perfect moment for a witty comment by Sabine, something like "You've changed...". A short reply like "I am aware. The time I spent here has taken its toll" and I would've been satisfied. But I'm getting carried away as, again, this isn't my main issue. The whole introduction is.
Thrawns character was often a bit ambiguous. But when I took one thing from the new books, then it is the fact that he despises to stage a great show. The whole introduction sequence felt weird. His man love him, yes. And surely after this long time, they would've developed traditions that make it look like a cult. But Thrawn would've never wanted that. And he wouldn't have used it like that for no reason.
But the worst thing is, that now...he is basically a generic villain. Filoni has done that in Rebels already, yes. But it was a show targeted at kids and teens, so it's understandable that he wanted to have a villain the audience really can hate. Thrawn must be able to hurt the main characters, that's his job.
In Ahsoka tho, I hoped for a complex, layered depiction. And now, not only does he seem to despise Jedi in general, which doesn't even make sense regarding his history, he then pulls the classic "I'm not gonna break my promises, when I never promised to let them live in the first place". That's the same person who got out of their way to talk to a rebel leader he hunted for YEARS. And after the massacre on the planet he tried to avoid the whole time, he proceeded to low-key threatening his only ally in the political system with consequences for that because he hated losing lifes senselessly.
They better come up with an explanation why he has changed. But I fear it won't happen on screen, since it would have obliged to happen in the introduction scene. People being introduced to the character now will wonder why everyone was so hyped about this very generic villain. And I think this presentation of Thrawn, the fact that people will probably not be interested in "yet another Moff Gideon", that's the big crime Ahsoka did...

Ahsoka ep 7 thoughts time! It's not in order.
Hera is in court and of course THAT guy had to be there🙄
Mandaolore and Moff Gidon name drop! Mando S3 is took place before Ahsoka Comfriend! Looking forward to Din and Grogu will meet the ghost crew!
I know Hamato did not just say Moff Gideon was just a random warlord. Like...what? This guy knows nothing.
It's my boy CP30 in the name of Leia Organa!
"Mere droid" Chopper is about throw hands!
Hera has been saved! Leia is a queen!
Ahsoka is training with Anakin's training log. Apparently, it was the last one. 🥺
Also Ventress, Dooku, and Grievous name drop! Woo!
OH my god! They are shooting at the Space Wales! Leave them alone!
Oh good, the wales are noping out there.
Into the Space wale grave yard we go.
Meanwhile, more Sabine, Ezra, and space crabs!❤️
Ezra catching up on things. And hey...Zeb name drop!
"That's what they say" I believe that was a jab at the sequel trilogy 🤣
I believe Sabine left Jacen out on purpose. She wants Ezra see him for himself. I going to pass away when he finds out that he is the son of Kanan.🥺💚
Ezra is really asking how Sabine got and she keeps saying it's complicated. The truth is coming in the final. Oof🤧
"What? Why? I mean...Congregations." Oh, Ezra. Eman Esfandi is doing such an awesome job bringing Ezra to life. I'm going to make a separate post because deserves so much praise for his performance! 👏🏾
Baylan is leaving Shin? Come on now! What on this planet is so important to him leave his appearance like that?
Ahsoka is reaching out to Sabine. She hears her. And the night sister knows his location.
Ohhh, Thrawn knows Anakin was Ahsoka's master. Now the question is, are they going to make the books canon? Because Thrawn has actually met Anakin during the Clone Wars and later Darth Vader. It'll be interesting how Filoni will handle this.
Ahsoka and Huyang it on the way.
Ezra, Sabine, and the crab people are under attack!
"Take us a prisoners" That was SO Ezra!
Ezra taught them how use a slingshot! It's true! It has to be!
Ezra dosn't need his lightsaber, he has force! Ngl, he remind me of Chirrut Îmwe when he fought 🥺
Ezra got moves! Stopping that lightsaber! Only to grab a blaster 🤣
Ahsoka and Baylan rematch! Fight! Huyang is air support.
Ha! Ahsoka took his ride
Ahsoka has arrived! It's the big three people!
I really feel bad for Shin here. Ahsoka said she can help her but she ran off, a lot going on in her mind. Where is she going to go now?😢
Ahsoka and Ezra hugs! Ahsoak laughing 💚💙🧡
Ezra holding crab's hands🥺
Thrawn did that to buy to get the heck out of here. Always one step ahead. They are going to have to stop him in the final.🥶
And that's it! I'm pretty sure I missed some things, wooo! Anyways, can you believe we're down to the final already? Times flys. Rick Famuyiwa is directing the final and I am hyped and scared on what's gonna happen. Till then, see ya then.👋🏽

Reflecting on Star Wars Celebration 2023
For 2023, Star Wars Celebration was held in London, England, part of Europe. Fans had a blast, whether they actually attended in person wearing cosplay or just regular clothes, or tuned into the live broadcasts on the Star Wars Youtube channel. Like last year in 2022, there were a lot of surprises and awesome guests, but 2023 had a lot of special moments and emotional responses. The hosts of each panel also need some appreciation, I loved the energy and relatable moods they brought to each day. In this post, I’ll recap some of the amazing highlights of each celebration day, and share my thoughts on the panels I attended while tuning into the lives at home.
Starting off with Day 1, the excitement was at the top-level. Considering it was in London, the live started at 5 AM for me where I live. So I definitely did not get any sleep, but it was worth it. The Ahsoka series got the most recognition of the day with the teaser trailer dropping to all the fans. I woke up to the trailer being posted and immediately watched it, trying not to scream so loudly. Rebels fans were truly getting fed with the new live-action debuts of Hera, Sabine, Ezra, Thrawn, and Chopper. The Acolyte cast were given introductions, and I had no idea that a star from Squid Game (Lee Jung-jae) was going to be in it. I’m really excited to see more of this show. The Making of Andor was discussed with a few of the cast members and creators there, and Diego Luna really highlighted what Andor means to a personal level. Season 2 is in the making, and that will be something worth looking forward to. The next Star Wars films were also announced, and Dave Filoni’s directing one??? Let’s see what he has in store for us.
Day 2 included just as much fun as the first day had. There were more discussions on the Ahsoka characters, and Lars Mikkelsen IS PLAYING THRAWN?! Definitely a good live-action casting choice. Ming-Na Wen came to celebration to host the panel celebrating 40 years of Return of the Jedi, looking back at the characters and how that movie’s plot set up a lot of iconic memories. She also came to an interview to discuss her character, Fennec Shand, and how she is a “badass”. Andy Serkis came to the stage and certainly incited a powerful audience (”ONE WAY OUT!”). It’s unbelievable how it’s already been 15 years of The Clone Wars, with Matt Lanter, James Arnold Taylor, and Ashley Eckstein looking back at the legacy of all of it. Ian McDarmid served the iconic laughter of Palpatine, and Anthony Daniels arrived with his usual charm that makes C-3PO lovable, and got to meet one of his droid fans. Billy Dee William’s charm is irresistible, and we love to see Star Wars authors getting recognition.
In Day 3, there was a lot more looking back to look forward to. Starting off with the panel celebrating a few of the villains of the Sequels-Phasma, Snoke, and Palpatine-it was interesting to hear their perspectives. Cameron Monaghan served his look on the stage while rocking a poncho, and we love to hear the discussions about ponchos. He even gave it to a cosplaying fan, which was so sweet. Discussing “Jedi Survivor”, the sequel to “Jedi: Fallen Order”, there’s a lot more action to look forward to in the next game. Vivien Lyra Blair is just too adorable, and we have to agree with Hayden Christhansen; “This is where the fun begins” is one of the best Anakin lines. Along with Ewan McGregor and a few other cast members and creators, the team looks back at the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, getting nostalgia between the relationship of Obi-Wan and Anakin.
And finally, Day 4 was sad as it was to be the last day of celebration, but the energy was extra hyped this day. This day was filled with content of The Bad Batch, and we love to see everyone fangirling over Dee Bradley Baker performing the voices of a few clones. (Tech and Phee are canon now after they talked about it, you can’t change my mind.) Michelle Ang is so pure at heart, and we love to hear her takes on Omega and having her grow up a bit. The fact that Season 3 will be the last Bad Batch season is saddening, there’s still so much to discover. Ashley Eckstein is truly such a kind human being, and we love to see her giving the Ahsoka recognition that is truly deserved. A second season of Tales of the Jedi was announced, and we will be getting a Volume 2 of Star Wars: Visions, and I am in love with the animation. The fact that the studio who produced the film “Wolfwalkers” is getting to create a short in this makes me happy. Listen, Nubs, that little jedi from that upcoming Disney Junior show, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures, is so CUTE! The closing ceremony was filled with a lot of emotions, but we can’t wait until the next celebration to see everyone again. Star Wars Celebration is truly home.
My first celebration was back in 2022, and I had attended that one through the lives at home as well. Whenever I sit down to attend the live streams, I really feel like I’m there at celebration, and I have tons of fun every time. Let’s look forward to enjoying ourselves again in 2025 in Japan!

My mind is like incoherently screaming. Still. It’s been idk half an hour since I saw the Ahsoka trailer and I’m still so ohmygod about it. I did not expect it today. Tomorrow for sure.
But the space family. Sabine looks so pretty. I had to pause and check her twitter search to make sure that was her. I loved seeing Ahsoka’s return to Lothal from the Rebels epilogue filmed makes so much sense. And her looking at Ezra’s hologram… HERA. I loved Hera. And Chopper. My family.
I’m so intrigued about the dark Jedi or whoever Ahsoka is fighting??? I am 1000% going to be least interested in Ahsoka but that’ s okay.
And Grand Admiral Thrawn. The view from behind was all I needed to get hyped cause what a view it is. So instantly recognizable. I’m glad I’ve had plenty of time to prep for them to go the HTTE route for him cause all it earned was a small eyeroll. And I’ll probably mind it less in a Rebels framed show. But no way it’s making my canon. But as long as he’s still a sexy genius I’ll still love him.
Just… it’s my people? My Star Wars. Star Wars is best when it’s SWR. And it is.
August needs to get here now.

🛼 🥤🍄🪐🍬 for the writer truth or dare please, (sorry if that's too many lol)
HIII!! girl there's no such thing as too many! bring it on :)
🛼 - describe your latest wip with five emojis
🤱🔫🌄☠️🫂
(good heavens why was that so difficult???)
🥤 - recommend an author or fanfic you love
answered here!
🍄 - share a headcanon for one of your favorite ships or pairings
also answered here!!
but also, I absolutely headcanon that Tim Bradford is secretly a fan of classic romantic Hollywood movies, because his sister went through a phase and dragged him with, and actually he found them charming and kind of relaxing to watch, but not even the most advanced polygraph or the worst torture could make him admit it. BUT Lucy knows, because he always comes up with some random fact or when there's an old actor on a crime show or whatever, he'll be like wasn't that the guy from breakfast at tiffany's and whenever she's like ?????? he blames it on Genny never shutting up, but in reality he always just watched them with her and enjoyed every second of it. but Lucy knows. and she's waiting for the right moment to strike.
🪐 - name three good things going on in your life right now
ALSO answered here!! :D :D :D
BUT here are three more :)
I get to see my family again in 1.5 weeks!! they're flying across the ocean for a visit and I am HYPED. I've missed my little bros <3
I had the BEST cappuccino today. and while it's a small thing, it filled me with joy because good cappuccinos + dairy free milk don't often mix. but it was TOP TIER 10/10 <3
I'm starting to feel like myself again. I spent so many years in burnout and stress and overworking myself, that these few months have been a literal GODSEND, just to figure out what I want in life and to rest and recharge in every way, and it really is amazing what can happen when your brain isn't in fight or flight every. single. day.
🍬 - post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character
okay, this might just be because of the circle of following/mutuals I'm in, but everyone (and I mean everyone) in the star wars fandom seems to love Thrawn and I just.............. I hate him. so much. I think he's bland and boring and weird, and don't come at me with the "just read the Thrawn trilogy" because that's what STARTED me hating him. so yeah. there ya go :)

palm tree, papyrus, camellia?
this one got a little long, sorry.
palm tree ⇢ do you have a fictional villain you shouldn’t like but love regardless?
lmao oh yeah. i've always been prone to sympathizing with villains. and i'm gonna use the term villain here pretty loosely as just a "bad guy" (or someone who is portrayed as such), regardless of whether they're the protagonist or antagonist or a side character.
but a few "villains" i love: vader/palpatine/dooku/thrawn, light yagami (or L to a slightly lesser extent), azula (and zuko before his turn), kuvira, lelouch, itachi uchiha, silco, gendo ikari, griffith, walter white, littlefinger, dany, general hummel, general shepherd, captain ahab, dutch (he was a good man! a man with a plan! manipulated by a rat.), hans landa, judge holden, ozymandias, homelander (what can i say? he's literally me. thank you patriots!), satan, etc.
papyrus ⇢ if you put your ‘on repeat’ playlist on shuffle, what’s the first song that comes up? what do you like about it / associate it with?
lmao "endzeit" by heaven shall burn. it's not hard to tell what i like about it. first, it's high energy and aggressive. but the lyrics are what really get me. i used to listen to this song back in my "anarchist" days in high school, back when i had dreams of violent revolution and martyrdom. ah, youth! but the energy and the lyrics still resonate with me today. it gets me hyped whenever i listen to it. man, i haven't listened to this in a minute. brings me back. memories of listening to it in the locker room before football practice or walking home from school under the orange glow of the autumn sun. it reminds me of all those other anarchist and punk kids i used to hang out with. i can't believe that was over a decade ago.
camellia ⇢ what were you like when you were younger? do you think you’ve changed a lot?
i mentioned a bit about my siblings in another ask last night and how different i am from them. that should give you an idea. i was basically the opposite of them in almost every way. as a kid i was "the quiet one" or "the strange one." was always a running joke in my family that i was adopted or that i was secretly an alien or something. i was content being alone, i read a lot of books, i loved animals and catching bugs, i looked at things through my microscope and the stars through my telescope. my brother had posters of models and celebrities and dirt bikes. i had the declaration of independence and old glory hanging on my wall, and posters of dinosaurs and spartans and romans.
my brother had shelves full of trophies he got from playing a variety of sports. my shelves were full of books or random trinkets or oddities i've collected and displayed or science experiments or terrariums/jars of different insects and animals. my brother had a lot of friends and he was always going to parties. i had no friends except imaginary ones. i often attribute my very active, vibrant imagination to the fact that i spent so much of my childhood playing "pretend" all by myself. i was a very curious child. always a curious child, exploring and going on lonely adventures and doing experiments and reading books.
do i think i've changed a lot? not that much. i've gotten bigger and stronger. i used to be a small, scrawny little thing. i've also become a lot more confident/aggressive. as a child i was shy and timid. but for the most part i think i'm very similar. i'm look at my computer desk and my bookshelf and it looks much like my room looked as a child. i still have many of the same passions/interests, just deeper and more expanded. i'm still the strange one.

ur feelings about the show are very understandable and #relatable. I also very much agree on ezra and thrawn's casting, that's like the only thing I am personally excited about with the show. one can only hope they get good material to work with
im genuinely interested in the new characters tbh!! and if ezra ends up being the inquisitor, i'll be kind of hype ngl. the best possible outcome that can come out of this show is that timothy zahn might be allowed to write the ezra and thrawn wild space adventure which i'd pay so much money for

I fear that a large part of my personality may be based on performative outrage on topics I don't really care about. What's it called, virtue signaling? I see other people getting up in arms about something I didn't particularly enjoy, and for some reason I jump aboard the bandwagon and pile on the insults, "hey look at me, I hate this thing too! It's the worst!" No, it's not the worst. It means nothing to me. Why am I calling it the worst? Why am I expending effort to make fun of something that I honestly couldn't care less about?
Marvel movies, Star Wars movies, big budget franchise sequels, I don't care about them. I've stopped watching them, so why isn't that enough? I don't plan on watching Rings of Power, not because I hate amazon (which I do), not because it looks bad (I haven't seen any clips, I've only heard other people's opinions), not even because I want it to fail (it's success or failure is irrelevant), but because I'm not even a fan of Lord of the Rings! I've seen Fellowship twice in my life, Two Towers and Return of the King once, and the first Hobbit movie. The only books I've read was the Hobbit, and I didn't really like it. Why am I pretending to be a huge fan who is outraged? If it sucks, it doesn't concern me.
Star Wars. I'm a big fan of Episodes 4 and 5, and most of 6, and that's about it. I've seen episode 1 a few times, and didn't like it. I attended a sleepover where they had a movie marathon of all the prequels on in the background all evening, so I've seen parts of episodes 2 and 3, didn't much care for them. Never seen Clone Wars. But for years I pretended that I hated the prequels because that's what was popular to say. I don't hate them because I've never seen them. I like watching other people bash them online because they look ridiculous, but ultimately I don't care one way or the other. When episode 7 came out, I was HYPED AS FUCK, legitimately hyped, not a performance; I was excited to see my first Star Wars movie in theaters with friends who loved analyzing the originals just as much as I did. I bought and read the now non-canon Thrawn trilogy, bought and didn't read a bunch of the other legends books, and I REALLY enjoyed episode 7. It did exactly what it needed to do, and I left the theater with a smile on my face. I went into episode 8 with ao much enthusiasm, and I didn't like it at all. That was also legitimate. It's popular to bash episode 8, but my dislike didn't extend that far, I just thought it was a major dip in quality from 7. Rogue One, I was excited about the premise, didn't like the execution. Solo, didn't like it, thought it was more like walking through a Han Solo museum with a tour guide pointing out "remember when he said this line in episode 5? Here's where it came from? And that line in episode 4? That one's to your left." Episode 9 was the first one I actively hated, like passionately hated, real non-performative hatred. I love 2½, I'm indifferent about 5½, and I hate 1, so I have no real skin in this game. Star Wars excites me more as a concept than as a franchise. The idea of it excites me, but 9 times out of 10 I pass on the content. The Mandalorian and Boba Fett and Obi Wan and Andor just aren't my thing. I've never seen them, don't plan to, so what do I care if anyone else does?
Marvel movies. I have watched exactly 8 of the 29 movies that have been released as of my writing this. I loved the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy as a kid, but other superheroes didn't really do it for me; I'd never neard of Iron Man when I was 11, or Thor, though I did know about the Hulk, I still didn't care enough to ask my parents to take me to see it. The first MCU movie I saw was Avengers 1 when I was 15, because my older sister decided out of nowhere to invite me to the movies with her friends (she'd never done that before), and Hunger Games was no longer playing at out hometown theater. I LOVED Avengers 1. I thought it was hilarious! I thought it was a perfect movie, nowhere near as bloated as people said it would be online. Next one I saw in theaters was Avengers 2, didn't really care for it. I saw Captain America 2 on DVD at a friend's house, I actually really liked it. I saw Cap 3 because of Spider-Man, and I liked it too, and I got really excited for a standalone Spider-Man movie, so Homecoming was everything I was hoping for. Not as good as Sam Raimi, better than Amazing. Next I saw Black Panther with my mom because she REALLY wanted to see it; it wasn't bad, didn't really do anything for me, but whatever. This is when I got off the marvel wagon because Avengers 3 was way too bloated for my tastes; I didn't want to watch it until I caught up on everything I missed, so i never saw it. I saw Far From Home on a date, liked parts of it, didn't really like Peter becoming Iron Man Jr. No Way Home got my bloos flowing because they brought back all the old characters from Raimi and Amazing, but the story itself didn't do it for me, and Tom Holland Peter is way to annoying for my tastes, so I've sworn off any future disney marvel movies. I don't care about the franchise anymore. I don't enjoy it anymore. I have nothing to gain from watching them, and I can vicariously make fun of the ones that suck by watching youtube reviews. Sony's Spider-Verse was great, loved it, can't wait for the sequel. I hope they make a Raimi 4, and hell, I'd even be okay with an Amazing 3 (I never saw Amazing 2, but I like Andrew Garfield). It'll never happen, but I can dream.
DC movies. I saw the original Batmen; 89 was good, Returns scratched an itch I didn't know I had (though my family hates it), Forever is a legitimate guilty pleasure of mine, and &Robin is objectively terrible but fun to watch in a MST3K kinda way. Never saw Batman Begins. I saw the Dark Knight once when I was a kid, didn't care for it (though I'd probably like it more now). Never saw Dark Knight Rises, would probably enjoy it, it looks good. Never saw ANY Superman movies. I saw Dawn of Justice because it was supposed to be DC's answer to the Avengers, which I still liked at the time, but I actively hated it and wanted Superman to stay dead. Never saw Justice League. Suicide Squad was terrible, another instance of active hatred. And that's it! Never seen any of the others. No Wonder Women, no Snyder Cut, no THE Suicide Squad, no John Cena show, nothing! I just don't care! This franchise means nothing to me! I don't have the energy to make fun of it on purpose, it just exists entirely outside of my wheelhouse.
Avatar. I saw it in 2009. Everyone in America saw it. It broke box office records. Everyone in America forgot it. It never captured the cultural zeitgeist like other big bidget sci-fi films; until disney made the theme park, the fandom was so niche that it never cropped up in pop culture. Novody referenced it except to say it was the highest grossing movie ever and jokingly call it Dances With Blue Cats. I thought it was pretty and inoffensive, but not worth a 3 hour investment to ever watch it again. I own it on DVD, which I opened and started watching once, but never finished, and the only reason I still have it is because the producer Jon Landau has a vacation home down here and visited my freshman video productions class in 2010 or 2011, and I had him sign it.
Tumblr media
I don't actually care that they're making Avatar 2. I think it's a soulless cash grab, but so is every studio movie these days. It doesn't interest me, so I'm not gonna watch it. I don't hate it, it's just boring. I'm sure it'll look pretty, it'll make a ton of money and win a ton of awards, but I don't care enough to make fun of it just because the plot doesn't sound interesting to me.
Video games. I'm not a gamer! I've never owned a current gen console; my parents bought me a Gameboy Advance SP when I was a kid, and a DS Lite later, but the only actual console I ever owned was an N64 I bought on ebay in high school (I didn't even Buy It Now, I won it in an auction; I was super excited). I have Minecraft on my laptop, which I play once or twice a year for a week or two at a time before getting bored and stopping until a new update comes, and that's it! I don't care about console wars! I don't care about graphics! I don't care about triple-A developers making samey games, because I don't play any! First person shooters and open world sandbox survival craft-em-ups and liberating districts and this that or the other, I just don't care! I don't care if the games are good, I don't care if they're bad, I don't care if critics love them or hate them, I just like hearing Yahtzee Croshaw make fun of them on Zero Punctuation! I don't have a steam account, I've never played a valve game, but I enjoyed watching Portal 2 walkthroughs and reading the entire TF2 wiki lore (I love the comics; will never pick up the game), never played undertale, or papers please, or the last of us, or breath of the wild, of gtav, or anything. I watched roosterteeth/achievement hunter/letsplay on youtube from like 2011 to 2016 or 17, but I fell off that wagon due to lack of interest.
I am apathetic above anything else, and I need to stop acting like every new installment to such and such franchise I'm not involved with is important to me when it's not. I need to stop hopping on the bandwagon. I don't gain anything out of letting people know how much I love/hate a movie/game I've never watched/played. Maybe I get some notes on tumblr? Whoop dee doo. Number go up! Who cares? I don't.
I'm sorry for being a jerk. The media I do or do not consume should not influence my personality. It's dumb to act like it's important to me when it's not. If I really like something, I can be excited! When I really hate something, I can say so and move on. When I'm indifferent, I can just ignore it. Why do I let myself get up in arms like this?

Thats Right! Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic(KOTOR) is getting a remake(for PS5, i believe). I am not a gamer but it still is a huge news. The story focuses on Revan the Sith Lord. Since KOTOR already exists, we have to see what changes this remake will have. Of couse, graphics will be high. This must have been quite a shock for the people who play KOTOR. The important thing is the story. Will it change a bit or not. Will it be canon? We know that Revan is now canon. Even the people who don't play Star Wars games have heard of Darth Revan. Like Mara Jade & Grand Admiral Thrawn, Darth Revan has been a huge hit among the Fans. Huge discussion & debates regarding him still happen. Before the rise Of Darth Bane who created the Rule of Two. Before The formation of the Empire which is ruled by The successors to the Sith who are Emperor Palpatine & Darth Vader. There was the Old Republic fighting different Sith Orders and The Mandalorian. Against the strong Mandalorians Rose Revan.
What do you think about the news? Who is hyped for Star Wars Visions? How do you feel about the KOTOR remake? Do tell.
Hope you all have a well day.

Gotta put together (some of) my feelings and thoughts about the mandalorian S2 finale so spoilers, can’t put it under a read more on tablet but SPOILERs and it’s tagged so:
I didn’t get it until the x wing landed in the hangar... then I started crying in both hope and fear. I felt Luke was the option to go to but I never thought they would ACTUALLY do it. Then it was him on the cams and you couldn’t see the color but the SOUND. Then you saw the glove!!! And then the shot mirroring Vader with the green in the smoke like...wow (also kinda mirrored Vader’s slaughter in rogue one but with less human murder). And so many of Luke’s moves reminded me of Anakin and Vader that it was just undeniable. Like it all just compiled so nicely and it was just amazing. (the cgi on his face was a lil eh but it was still Luke) AND THEN R2!!! I jumped and yelped and cried again. And then of course Din removing his helmet for Grogu... come on... it’s too sweet. “‘let me look on you with my own eyes” come THROUGH FATHER SON DYNAMIC ITS POETRY IT RHYMES!!! But of course the thought crossed my mind when Luke was holding Grogu... his possible fate to Kyle at Luke’s temple... oof. I mean possibly not but ??? ALSO WHEN GIDEON TRIED TO SHOOT GROGU?!?! I HATED THAT SO MUCH! THAT SPLIT SECOND HAD ME REELING,SEETHING. Also I wonder if Grogu is the first kid recruited by Luke? I think that would be such an interesting dynamic, I mean aside from Ben of course but... that is just such an interesting thought for this to be the first recruitment of his temple. The weight it puts on that scene and Luke’s determination to get to him...like come on. The only thing I wanted more than Luke was Leia, because I am dying for more Jedi Leia, but it’s obviously a bit iffy territory to tread, sadly rip queen. Also also I need to see a Grogu/Din reunion. Particularly I think it would be great to see them years later, I mean I would love Din to have constant contact with his SON, but of course a years later reunion would be so interesting to see the dynamic. Do they settle back in? Is Grogu too young rn to be able to be taken away and have a good connection (without taking into account any force connection type vibes) later on? Grogu didn’t get his ball...
Also i was so engrossed I forgot about the actual kind of... inheritance of the darksaber, kinda due to Sabine giving Bo the darksaber in rebels?? and that was just such a moment. As soon as I saw Gideon smiling/laughing at Bo I was like.. wait a minute... The whole time, from Boba and Koska and Bo’s fight/bickering at the beginning, to when Gideon was holding it up to Grogu, I was just like Din doesn’t care about all this he just wants Grogu. And it broke my heart when he was telling her to take it, and she just couldn’t, knowing that’s not what he wants at all (i mean who knows where it will go now with Grogu gone but :/ still doesn’t seem like the rule Mandalore type but he really almost has a no choice.. also high key feel bad for Bo. She was just feigning for Gideon and the darksaber and made it clear but just happenstance and.. not even back at square one but now stuck in this weird place. She knows Din’s not like Gideon so she can’t justify going after him like that. But also lowkey wanted to fight her after she called out Boba as not a real mandalorian, and talking about him being a clone, at the beginning but I guess he doesn’t really care too much sinc he’s so sure of himself and doesn’t need recognition from other mandalorians). I am so interested in how Din moves forward. Also I love how they allowed Luke and Boba to just pass each other lol because 😬 (also is koska dead??) And according to Gideon they already got Grogu’s blood so :/ but also R2/Grogu recognizing each other??
BOBA SUPREMACCYYYY!!!! RIP Jeremy Bulloch 💕 The after credit omg... Fat Bib Fortuna physically taking Jabba’s place on the throne and manifesting the body to go with it lol but I loved how it mirrored Luke’s entrance at Jabba’s palace, and of course as soon as we see Fennec I know Boba was coming along, and I just... oof. The book of Boba... wow... I am so hype for next December. Him and Fennec running the criminal underworld?? Pls let Cobb vanth show up because I would love to see Boba stare down the dude who ‘borrowed’ his armor for a while. Also I wanna know a bit more of Boba’s escape/survival and time with the Tusken raiders, I loved seeing them a bit more this season compared to the very brief glimpses and Ani’s slaughter. Also Dark Troopers so good. Good love it.
I wonder if the book of boba is the next season, so an installment of this series.. that’s what I think it will probably be... but also Bo and Din on mandalore?? But also explore Luke’s Jedi Temple... him finding the force sensitives and how his methods differ from the old Jedi Order. How he changes it and improves or what he sticks to that works/doesn’t?? And of course we got the set up for Thrawn/Ahsoka/ EZRA??!?!? (pls rahul kohli) show and all the other shows which.. while I am hype for book of boba (the best title) I am still OBVI most hype for the Obi wan because baby boy ani and ewan, like if this?!? Had me crying... I am going to get destroyed when that obi-wan show drops. Dubstep droids... Also I really thought there would be something to the “‘pure Beskar” line, like one of the mando’s armor wouldn’t be pure and they get stabbed... listen I came into this thinking someone was going to die.
I have so much Feelings and Thoughts and just needed them somewhere. It felt like Star Wars... it felt like I was in the theaters. I was crying and talking to myself and silently yelling since it was 3am but... it just felt amazing. It was amazing. Like it’s just kind of insane especially when there were so many times when it seemed like Star Wars was gone or changing too much... which isn’t exactly bad but it was just kind of nice to feel like it used to. The nostalgia...and the love and the hope gosh ❤️
Edit: AHSOKA AND LUKE MEET. TALK ABOUT ANI! LET LUKE LEARN OF HIS DAD, LET AHSOKA LEARN OF HIS REDEMPTION! NOW LUCASFILMS🔫
