wiwi whats ur favorite horror movie? or genre of horror?
Well, I don’t tend to watch horror movies all that often. They remind me too much of Deadwood, even if Deadwood has sorta desensitized me to some of the more fucked up things in horror.
I guess I like psychological horror, and my life already feels like a survival horror game half the time if that counts.
Not sure if this is a horror movie, but I like the Nightmare Before Christmas. Halloween AND Christmas? I’m pretty sure that’s better than prom night but I never got to go to prom so what do I know.

CERU. ceru. Beloved, who that redhead slut with the side braid? Do you know? Do you have tea?
Love <3 V
THE RED HEAD SLUT?!?!? HWJWBWKW AHAHAHAH!!!!
That silly little guy is from a Horror Mystery game called Zeno. It’s a Japanese psychological horror RPG created by Umami Mazu.
He’s introduced as Tsugino Haru to the player, a homicidal maniac.
The basic gist of the game is that two people wake up in a room together, with no memories of who they are. All they have is two files on the ground with them, with their picture clipped onto them.
One is Tsugino Haru, a homicidal maniac.
The other is Maeno Aki, a doctor researching… something. The rest of the information is blacked out.
Ohhhh I want to ramble about this game so so so bad. I have so many thoughts about Zeno. I want to infodump so bad but I’ll inevitably end up spoiling people- Zeno is best experienced blind guys trust me- I swear I am completely normal about little rpg horror games *visibly shaking*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here’s some official art of the silly little guy!
There’s an English version of the game available for free apparently, but I haven’t gotten around to actually downloading it and playing. Assignments do be kicking my ass….
The translation is also a bit wonky, but it works.
ALSO if you want to watch a stream of this game instead (which was what I did), I’m going to recommend my silly little guys Flayon and Altare from Holostars! I really enjoyed the dynamic between these two talents, and their amazing voice acting!!!
Flayon completely demolished the “angry aggressive” tone Tsugino had at the start, before it developed into a more concerned, emotional voice. Altare nailed the soft spoken, quivering way Maeno sounded, and the moments where the chase scenes happened? I was so scared, he conveyed the scare factor so so so well!!!!
I’m a huge fan, and I really enjoy the story heavy games they stream and play! They really really as passionate about the stories, and I know if they play a game, it don’t miss!!!!
Do check them out!!

Hi Arrow. Do you recommend trying TF2? I like the funny guys but I have no FPS experience
Em. I am gripping you by the face. I have not been thinking about anything besides TF2 for the past two months. I absolutely recommend it.
I’m also not really big into FPSs, but I really enjoy the gameplay for it. There’s a fairly outdated tutorial you can play where it walks you through how to play a few of the classes that I found helpful to get a feel for the game, but there’s also offline training with bots that you can play to get a little more practice with each class until you feel comfortable enough to play online (if you even want to).
There’s also a lot of custom maps that people make just to be silly on (the Mario kart and McDonald’s maps come to mind lol). I’m personally a big fan of Mann vs Machine, where you and five others just fight waves of robots.
The game isn’t super great at walking you through things, so you would probably need to either have someone play with you to explain things or do some quick research on it, like reading the wikis or watching some videos about it. It’s pretty easy to pick up once you get it tho!
Also, TF2 has had a huge problem with bots in the past few years, so to be able to communicate through chat, voice commands, or voice chat, you have to spend at least $5 on the game. I just bought some silly cosmetics from the community shop, but you can also buy taunts and other weapons if you want.
There’s a ton to explore in the game and I learn something new every time I play tbh!!!
But!!! If you want to enjoy the silly guys without playing the game!!!! There’s comics!!!!!!!!!!!
There’s a lot of smaller comics that were released to introduce new updates which is really fun, but then there’s the main comic series that focuses on a big overarching plot that’s sooooo funny and silly and heartbreaking <333
It also (imo) helps establish some of the characters in really interesting way. Like they’re all fucked up little clown dudes, but the comics give a bit of insight for some of them. A couple of the characters get brushed over a bit because there’s nine of them and you can only do so much, but it still did a damn good job of getting me attached to them all.
The only problem is…it’s not finished. The second to last comic was published in 2017 and the last one has been “coming soon!” since then. :( I’d still recommended it tho bc the comics are really good! The art is gorgeous and everyone is sooooo silly.
AND if you don’t want to do THAT! Theres the Meet the Team videos that Valve made to introduce each of the mercs, plus a few other videos for updates and other things. I LOVE these. I watch em all the time lol. My personal favs are Spy, Pyro, and Medic but it doesn’t take long to watch them all.
AND THEN There’s a whole wide internet of SFMs (SourceFilm Maker) on YouTube!! A lot of them are super silly YouTube poop-like videos that are rawrXDomgLOL random. This isn’t super my thing so I don’t have any recs unfortunately.
But there was an SFM recently released called Emesis Blue that is driving me to the brink. It’s a full length psychological horror/thriller movie that’s like TF2 but real fucked up. It’s been living in my brain for a solid week. It lowkey kinda gave me nightmares so you may check out the Does the Dog Die page for it if you’re sensitive to horror, or skip it all together.
Also kind of a blanket trigger warning for all media listed is blood, guns, violence, and bodies exploding into cartoon meat chunks. Fun stuff lol.
So there’s a lot of ways to enjoy the fun mess that is TF2. Let me know if you get into it bc hooooly shit I love this funny hat game so much.

Could I possibly request for a match-up 💀
( btw I prefer slashers if that's ok )
I'm half Filipino half brazilian, female ( and straight ) I'm more of a tanned skin color and have dark wavy hair, I have a pear shaped body and extremely thick thighs, dark eyes and my height is 5'5. I am also a capricorn.
I'm kind of introverted and observant around people ( also have anxiety issues ) but once I get to know them I'm more open with them showing my sassy or chaotic personality, sometimes I could be a bit stubborn or hot headed.
I like to spend my time drawing, listening to music (( big fan of doja cat, corpse, Olivia and the Orion experience )) , playing video games, knives, I also LOVE watching/playing HORROR while sipping my coffee/Boba tea. I have a minimalist and grunge style and take a huge interest into psychology.
I love my friend group so much to the point I consider them as my family, I'm very good with keeping secrets and is always open to be a shoulder to cry on. I can be calm and collected but can take a 360° turn and snap at you when you talk shit about me or my friends. And ye that's pretty much it ❤️
I think Michael Myers would take a liking to you.
Tumblr media
Like you, Michael is very observant. While he's not exactly introverted in the usual sense of the word, he definitely is quiet and is always incredibly observant of everything around him. He would appreciate similar traits in a partner.
It's Michael - the fact that he even spared you to begin with means he at least tolerates you, which isn't something that really happens, ever. As a result, he doesn't mind your stubbornness or hotheadedness. At times, he can find those traits even a bit endearing.
Enjoys it when you're willing to show him your more chaotic and and sassy side. Believe it or not, though you might not always see it, Michael does have a sense of humor, and he has fairly thick skin so any sass thrown his way won't bother him.
Is willing to partake in any horror-film binge watching sessions you have! It's no surprise that Michael would enjoy horror films, though he does have a preference for older, more classic thrillers and slashers.
You being calm and collected and able to keep secrets is extremely important to Michael - being able to be trusted with secrets is essentially dire considering he's THE Boogeyman of Haddonfield. Though, the likeliness of anyone taking it seriously if you had said you were with him was not very high, it's still nice to know that he can trust you to keep your head about you.
Also, you're pretty short compared to him. Definitely something he'll love to subtly tease you about!

NAME : rev
PRONOUNS : they / them , he / him , she / her
ZODIAC SIGN : capricorn
TAKEN OR SINGLE : single
— THREE FACTS
i am a HUGE slasher / horror fan. i'm still working my way through the classics and people's recommendations for movies / games / books (having strict parents put me back a few years lol), but i love scary / dark things! my only drawback is that i'm pretty bad with torture-porn horror (see: anything involving and made in the years after saw) and i prefer psychological horror or things that don't focus on people being HURT - i can handle them being KILLED though!
i'm a relatively new roleplayer compared to a lot of people in the community - ok, i used to write in like 2013, but i was a kid and it was solely warrior cats or "anime high school" threads on a now defunct forum. i then decided in my teenage brain that that was "cringe" and "bad" and stopped doing it for ages, but i've recently (with all the credit to my lovely friend flowers) regained my love for it!
i have an extremely fat cat. yes we've tried putting him on diets. yes we've tried exercising him. nothing has worked (he's lazy as hell and steals food), so now we just let him live out the rest of his life (he's pretty old now :( ) however he wants to. i would die for him. please ask me for photos of him at any given opportunity.
— EXPERIENCE
PLATFORMS USED : mostly just tumblr, although when i was younger i used to roleplay on deviantart, kik, and a now defunct warrior cats site known as warrior cats rpg / feralfront!
PLOTTING / WINGING IT / MEMES : my most-used way of interacting is memes and starters, but i am very up to plot with people - i'm just bad at saying it unprompted! i don't think plotting is always necessary if it's just a short thread, but for longer ones i'd prefer to plot!
—MUSE PREFERENCE
GENDER : cute girls! ok in all seriousness i will rp any character i enjoy, but i feel a LOT more comfortable writing female and / or fem-presenting muses, which i know is uncommon
MULTI OR SINGLE : a mix of both! i like the range of multis, but i feel like it makes it a little harder to explore them in as much as i'd like sometimes. i do also run a few single blogs though!
LEAST FAVOURITE FACECLAIM(S) : i don't have a problem w any faceclaims!!! as long as it's not someone that's like, a renowned bigot or something like that i don't really care who u use - i tend to use faceclaims very loosely anyway!
— FLUFF / ANGST / SMUT
FLUFF: fluff can be super fun!
ANGST: I LOVE ANGST. i love writing conflict and arguments and situations where characters do not like or trust each other, whether they have to co-operate or are at each other's throats! it's therapeutic :)
SMUT: i have not written smut in a roleplay context and honestly i'm a little scared to start - jokes aside i think i'd rather do that sort of thing in private rather than in public, and with people i trust! i am okay with flirting/more suggestive interactions though bc like with angst, i love writing tension ;)

Hello :) I'm pretty new to DnD so excuse me if my questions don't make sense haha, I was just wondering what your favourite kind of storyline is for campaigns? Also, do you like leading them or being one of the people who plays one character?
Oh hell yeah!! I love new D&D friends!! Thanks for the ask, and never be nervous about your questions not making sense, everyone has to start somewhere!!
So I’ve been playing D&D for 8 years now, the first few of which were me strictly being a player. My sophomore year of college though, I transferred to a new school and didn’t have anyone who wanted to DM (run the game) so I super volunteered, and that’s been my life ever since.
I recently unfortunately had to stop running a very high-concept Eldritch horror game, which was a delight while it lasted (some of the players made it impossible for me to continue in a way that was safe for my mental health). It was pure psychological horror with very VERY minimal combat.
I greatly prefer games that have very very strong roleplay interactions and character growth moreso than like a hack and slash XP earning game. I like telling the story with my friends, first and foremost. I’m also a big homebrew person, I don’t really prefer the modules, but I’ll steal things from them for my own games all day long! Also, being able to make the story up tailored specifically for the people who are playing is a massive plus, in my eyes, because that keeps people engaged longer!
(Before anyone sees this and tells me to try systems other than D&D, obligatory Yes, I Know, I Play A Lot Of TTRPGs, You Don’t Need To Suggest Anything I Am Fine Running These Games How I Do Within 5e! However if you have an actual suggestion I’ll gladly take it!!)
As far as specific storylines, I’m a huge political intrigue fan, I like weird funky planar magic, and I like very very complicated and entirely blurred definitions of what is “evil” vs what is “good”
Hard choices are the shit!!

QUICK GAME OF THE YEAR REACTION POST:
sorry for anyone who follows me for ofmd(ive been ofline due to work+school+writing 2 ofmd fic due Dec 15th), but really quick, here's my general thoughts about my Other unhealthy habit besides writing about gay pirates!! I love gaming and this year was STRONG, so I have THOUGHTS. This is my superbowl.
Rants first:
Pizza Tower was robbed for breakout indie. By a Mile. It had 40k community reviews compared to the winners 2k. The winners were an offshoot indie company that made fuckimg LIMBO. One of the games that started the indie scene vs. a passion project between friends. All the music is being written by 1 guy with 2 developers on the game. Pizza Tower released in the first few months of 2023 to a huge breakout fandom vs. Cacoon that just came out a few months ago. I think indie needs to be more community vs. reviewer based, as the community is selling the game to future fams vs. Games Journalists. I loved Pizza Tower, but it's not a pretty game the journalists choose. I loved it, from its fast-paced music to 90s cartoon art to challenging gameplay, and it sucks that this fan community will be the people that review bombed cacoon. To me, it feels like the last of us 2 winning everything a few years ago. No hate to the devs. But damn.
-I fucking hate Hideo Kojima. I generally dispise his work as it feels like he's afraid to create 'lesser' art and uses his influence to hang out with celebrities. I think death stranding is sloppy, and most of HIS work in the Metal Gear series is dumb. His action feels slow, and his plots vaguely empty. So when I saw a more psychological horror game with his studio slapped on it(a genra you need to be VERY careful with), i wasn't happy. HOWEVER. I admire the fuck out of Jordan Peele and his version of a more sociological horror. Of systems and society and PEOPLE influencing our horror. Of what being an outcast means. So we're combining a successful studio with money and a writer who hopefully can toe the line between offensive mental health tropes and the fiction of the universe. I was fucking SQUEALING when Peele came out. (If he's a shit head, I apologize in advance). This could be a story based game that grabs me.
-please limit all announcers to a standard time frame. They should be as pressured in their speeches as the winners.
-E3 is gone. This is why there are so many announcements and adds for games va time for awards. Can we please create a separate indie vs. AAA show to highlight indie general beyond farmlife/pretry games. I want indie horror and other smaller genre to get recognized.
(Also fuck Neil druckmann for being a POS)
BG3 getting Game of the Year: spent 300+ hours playing BG3. Replaying acts 1/2 with around 5 different Tavs who never beat act 3(thanks to anxiety of finally ending a story). Romancing Karlach, Shadowheart and Astarion(dark urge). As a dragon age fan, this is the best RPG in that style I can ask for. I am delighted with every award it got, and will cherish this game for years. The dark urge 'good' playthrough featuring a plot that inspires me to this day.
Games I need to play right now apparently.
I thought Alan Wake 1 had a bad story but apparently Alan Wake 2 is right up my alley. A better horror game with better story and unreality and pushing the medium of video games. Which is my shit. I also need to understamd that dance montage. (I want to see why this won story over BG3, BG3 takes into account player action. Why did this win over 100s of hours of story content?)
The Finals. I can't stand battle royal/rainbow 6 esk games in general, but the attitude and destruction looks fun, and it's free. So fuck it.
Hi-fi rush! No clue what it is but it looked lovely and up my alley!
New stuff to look out for
That game based on Journey to the West. I was freaking out the entire trailer. I feel a long form game is the perfect way to adapt the legend. I loved watching Ellen ring and can see this become a comfort streaming game to watch.
'BLADE'- GAME???? FUCK YEAH! I was so hyped when I put the pieces together. I'm thankful for my time in the marvel fandom but I'm happy Blade was mostly ignored and we'll get a passionate team creating what will likely be a game with Batman Arkham style combat.
Free God of War DLC looks amazing, and as a rogue lite fan, I'll love to watch the story unfold online
Lost Records- from the life is strange people, is my shit. I will play it.
I finally get to play my dad's favorite Sega games with this remaster!!! All 5 look amazing.
Any Syardew Valley, Elden Ring or Hades like game. Love that shit.

몽상가  ;  ACT I   💭  𝓐bout  𝓗im.
Greetings! I go by the name, Lucian Xaviera Valentine, but I’m more comfortable with my alias; Sean. However, feel free to provide me with nicknames you deem comfortable with, such as Eyan, Iyan, Sese and much more, as long as it isn’t offensive. Other than that, I’m absolutely fine with any pronouns, depending on the way you perceive me as and whichever you’re more comfortable in addressing me, but I’m more comfortable with they/them or he/him instead. Fret not, I’ve already reached the legal age (+21), too! One thing to note is that I’m a demiromantic demisexual, and I swing both ways with no lean. I’m also a certified INTJ with Gemini as my sun, alongside Leo as my moon and Virgo as my rising sign. Here are a few things to take note of, which may clear some of your confusion and refrain yourselves from asking repetitive questions in the near future;
As you may know, I’m not exactly fluent in Indonesian. I’m more of a mix-blood, so I tend to accidentally talk in Malay. I might mix my languages often as well, ranging from English to a slight hint of Mandarin. However, please do not let this fact burden you, since I’ll try my best to learn as time passes by!
I live in GMT+8 timezone, so there are times where the clock confuses  me. Please do bear with me, mistakes do happen especially when tiredness starts to dwell itself in me.
All in all, I’m always open to learning. If the construction of my words seems wrong or easily misunderstood, then do educate me. The same goes for learning new languages, I’m always up for opportunities!
공상가  ;  ACT II   💭   𝓘nterests.
The things I do purely because of my liking towards them and never an intention to dwell deeper into it is writing little drabbles and also doing art such as paintings, admiring most of any works, as well as photography — especially film ones, to be exact. As I’ve slowly work my ways and studied in the field itself, I’ve developed an interest in web-designing and editing, too. I’m not a fan of films, since I’ve never find myself a perfect time to relax and enjoy them, but I do love everything under the horror genre as I prefer to spend time scrolling through numerous horror films instead. One of my personal favorites are those containing psychological horror.
I wouldn’t consider myself a bibliophile, but I do love reading books that I deem unique and vast in terms of imaginary such as Illuminae Files and the Grishaverse. I’ve been diving deeper into the fantasy, — either the dark one or the dreamy ones — thriller and also science-fiction genre a lot. If you, by any chance, have any specific recommendations, then do let me know about it!
향유자  ;  ACT III   💭   𝓔ntertainment.
In terms of the artists I listen to; I am not picky of who I listen, though I mainly roam around the R&B, indie and pop category the most. I’m a huge fan of ENHYPEN, The Boyz, aespa and NewJeans; an avid listener of IVE as well as TXT and other groups I have yet to mention. I’m also a fan of Taylor Swift, Chase Atlantic, Arctic Monkeys, grentperez, Gracie Abrams and a lot more.
In terms of the games I’ve laid my interest upon; my main source of entertainment is usually League of Legends, Valorant, slight Genshin (since I’ve been in a burnout for months as of now) and Apex. I’ve played a lot of sentinels and duelists (and I am flexible in who I play, yes) according to who the team needs, as well as support / botlaner or midlaner. However, I’m more to an aggressive type of player, so please lessen your expectations whenever we have a game since there might be a time where I miss my shots.

A Little Help...
So, as you can see, I am experiencing extreme writer's block. So, I have put my writing on hold for a minute to get some inspiration...
And, back to gaming, I go... And I would love it if people could give me suggestions about which game(s) I should get to get my creative juices flowing...
I'm pretty picky about games; I only like a weird little sub-set of categories. But I want suggestions for anything dark, weird, scary, bizarre, etc. I like FPS, RPG, Story Rich, Horror, Psychological Horror, Strategy, Atmospheric, etc.
I am not a fan of anything that has a 1st Gen Nintendo aesthetic; that was what every game looked like when I was young, and those are the ones I got sick of. Annnnnd, lastly, I'm not a huge fan of the Zombiepidemic. It got tired for me a few years ago.
If anyone can think of any that I might like, ALL suggestions are welcome!

This is going to be an unpopular opinion but I don’t really love that Stranger Things has become just a straight out horror show.  And this is absolutely a personal thing and arguably an issue with me as a consumer than with the show itself but I still feel like a valid interpretation.
I don’t mind horror myself, but my family is not really a fan.  And back in season one this was a show that I could introduce to them without that being much of an issue.  It had horror elements to it, but it was mostly charming and utilizing a more lovecraftian sense of eeriness to it that didn’t fixate on this kinda... gore porn.  And steadily as the seasons have gone on, the horror elements have continued to kick up.  Never though was it to this extremity.  It was self-referential and never really about lets make a good horror show but rather about making an interesting blend of 80s culture, D&D, and horror ‘concepts’.  And the former two were filled with so much charm that it hooked into a lot of people who were never really horror fans but could enjoy it as it was blended in.
None of those elements came to the extreme as we are seeing in season 4 though, where the show has elevated beyond reference and decided that it wants to be as gruesome as any of the heavy hitters.  For... very little reason.  And yes, the horror elements are definitely still references but they are an uncomfortable departure from season 1 where only four named characters died.  And this is their choice but it feels as though it was a poorly marketed and advertised experience.  It feels as though it no longer cares about the people who were on the fringes of horror and watched the show more for the characters than the over the top violence, which was a huge reason for the shows original success.  It still has charm, in my opinion, though the rest of my family disagrees and I kind of can see there point when you book end both of your first two episodes with these scenes, leaving a bad taste in your mouth, as that is what you think about in the recount.  And I do also think some of the charm doesn’t work anymore.  Some new characters are bringing it but others like *sigh* Mike are really bringing it down.
And number two, this isn’t some criticism that is born out of someone who isn’t used to horror either.  Admittedly, I’ve never been into visual horror but I listen to podcasts, read books, and play games that are horror all the time.  Mostly I listen to things like Magnus Archives or Archive 81 and get most invested into cosmic horror or Lovecraftian genres (those are technically 2 different things that feed into each other) and my latest questline in my D&D campaign is heavily inspired by weird fiction horror.  But I also just... don’t think the horror in Stranger Things this season is very good.  Like it’s hard for me to criticize because I am not into slasher horror gore porn type horror, which if you are all power to you.  I ain’t trying to judge.  But I felt like the show did horror better when it was psychological or in the background, more akin to lovecraftian style when the motivations of the things were far more unknown.  This happened a bit with season 3, but we’ve reached a point now where the pulling back of the veil on these things is becoming less interesting than the theories everyone could have thought up for these mysteries (a common issue with this style of story telling) and the monsters to me have gotten a bit too... tangible and by that in my opinion actually less scary.
I don’t know.  I understand this is an opinion that is probably fairly limited.  But I really enjoyed watching this as a sit down family show, which yeah I do think you could do once upon a time, and now the show has reached a point where that it is losing that spark.

SSO Horrors
A post diving into how dark this franchise’s storyline gets and ideas for a horror game that will never actually be created. SPOILERS for the SL books and SSO storyline.
This idea originally came to me after reading the second book of the SL trilogy, The Legend Awakens. Props to Helena Dahlgren for the Pine Hill Manor scenes in that book; I was completely left on the edge of my seat the entire time. Linda’s whole experience was definitely an unexpected thriller for the children’s genre; cutting her leg on a broken window, exploring an old creepy mansion owned by the centuries-old psychopath that was targeting her, her friends, and their horses, being chased down halls and having to barricade herself in rooms to be protected from the apparent non-human dark riders (not to mention the way Dahlgren describes the animal sounds and scratching that they made, chills), and, to top it all off, nearly dying from sepsis due to her cut becoming infected.... if that’s not horror game material, I don’t know what is.
If you can’t already tell from the title of this post, I am a huge fan of the horror genre. The suspense-packed and often deep moral stories are always a fun watch/read. I personally am currently making my way through some classic Stephen King books that I haven’t read yet which was sort of what inspired this post.
Taking a look at SSO’s storyline on the surface level, we see a classic dark vs. light story, with horses and female heroines as the main points. However, there are quite a few darker elements hidden among the story quests, most of which would only be noticeable to the eye of the older audience of the game. The potential for this plot to be upped to a more mature level as far as darker themes go is definitely there. Regardless, the already existing underlying themes have some heavy themes...
- Teenagers, around the ages of 15-19, have been tasked with saving the world from a demonic entity. They have been granted special powers to do this with. These powers however can be extremely dangerous, as we see with both Alex and Catherine with their Lightning Circle incidents, in which they almost killed living beings. These factors combined would no doubt take some sort of psychological toll on the Soul Riders, as they are so named.
- Brainwashing and cult-mindset was a huge theme brought up with Justin’s kidnapping. He was abruptly cut off from the outside world, had his memories removed, and his mind artificially filled with thoughts of Garnok and world domination. It’s clear when he is rescued and goes back to his home that he’s depressed; his Midsummer dialogue a year back was “My dad thought it would be good for me to get out. I don’t do that much anymore” (not exact but close enough). When he talks to his mother during the memories quests the first thing he jumps to seeing her pregnant with him is “I wonder if she’d would be so excited if she knew all the terrible things I did”. To add to that, upon getting Justin back home, Thomas tells our character “If he keeps having these dark thoughts, I’ll have to turn to the druids.” That in itself was pretty unsettling. All this dialogue was put there to draw attention to the mental affects of literally having your brain tampered with.
- Elizabeth’s story was probably one of the saddest in my opinion. She had to stand by while her friend group fell apart, one going on to die, one going missing, and the other two continuing to split away from her. She then felt it was her responsibility to make up for her sisterhood’s failures, staying with the druids and eventually helping recruit new Soul Riders. Seriously though, imagine that. She saw what pain the magical war brought to her and her friends; knowing that she was pushing four more kids into a situation like that would’ve been devastating (here comes the morals vs. duty idea). Our character must have been a whole other level of that feeling. She saw what Catherine went through with her magic - the fear, the near madness. Then of course she goes on to imprison her close friend’s son (it appeared from the quests that she was closest to Catherine so that just adds to the pain). And to end it all, she sacrifices herself to save a girl who she considered a daughter.... jeez. - Catherine is another issue here for obvious reasons. A teenage girl is entrusted with goddess-level powers, then nearly goes psycho from the inability to control them. You can clearly tell from her last few diary entries how exhausting that was and how happy she was to finally have a somewhat normal life with her husband and son.
- And finally of course we have the DC gang. Mr. Sands is a basket case all on his own, a man who has used mind control (arguably in my opinion one of the creepiest forms of dark magic out there) on numerous victims including his own grandson, a man who legitimately worships a demon, and not to mention has it out for a bunch of teenagers. His whole backstory with Rosalinda made me feel some sort of sympathy for his character (he watched her nearly be drowned to death), and I’m actually quite curious as to where they’re going to take that. Also, The Nightmare Institute? That could be a horror game within itself. All we know so far about that place is that humans and animals are tested on with dangerous materials (ex. Mr. Anwir). Let’s not forget to mention the dark riders who apparently have animal qualities now? (as it was described in the SL books) Ok so we can clearly see that SSO’s storyline gets a bit dark. But just imagine; a Pine Hill Mansion first-person POV game, where you’re in a situation similar to Linda’s, or even one in DC or the Nightmare Institute. Honestly this entire storyline could be turned into some Resident Evil plot lol.
But that being said, as much as it’s fun to speculate these types of things, I enjoy SSO’s storyline just the way it is. It’s enjoyable for me as an older player, but it’s also filled with great moral stories and motivation for young children, especially girls. I love the atmosphere of female empowerment, and it’s especially unique to SSO because around the time of it’s initial release, that wasn’t seen much in video games.
Might start during these ‘chat’ or ‘random things that come to my mind’ posts more often.

Note
hello hello! if your matchups are still open can i request one?
(sorry if this gets long im not good at requesting these-)
-so uhh to start off with i use they/them pronouns and am AFAB (assigned female at birth) and have not gotten any transition surgeries so i still look more feminine (which causes some gender dysphoria around the time of my period and on some days i find it really hard to make myself shower because i don't like to look at my body)
- i'm an INFP-T which means i have the same personality trait as Zuko from Avatar the Last Airbender, Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Yuri from DDLC, Luke Skywalker from Star Wars, Dr.Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb, Fishcl from of course Genshin Impact and Sadness from Inside Out
- i'm a bit of a daydreamer and tend to zone out a lot, and i don't like to ask people to repeat themselves when i zone back in which will probably screw me over in the future (it has not yet)
- fantasy and horror are my go-to genres but i also really enjoy historical fiction and read a lot of classic novels (Crime and Punishment, Grapes of Wrath, Dracula, The Complete Works of Edgar Allen Poe, The Devils, The Great Gatsby, etc)
- very much a fan of animes (like Haikyuu, The Promised Neverland (i cried a bunch), Demon Slayer, Blue Exorcist, Hunter x Hunter, OHSHC, FairyTail, Bungou Stray Dogs, etc) and video games (like Danganronpa, YTTD, Ayakashi Akaashi, Until Dawn, Undertale, Detriot Become Human, Minecraft, Genshin Impact (obviously) and FNAF (yes i'm a Game Theory fan))
- whilst i do enjoy horror i prefer psychological horror to slasher films and straight up gore (i have a lot of nightmares from the time i was dared to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre and either screamed, cried or sat petrified in fear for almost the entire time)
- i get really emotionally attached to characters in books/TV Shows/movies which i know is a problem and they're not real but i cant stop myself
- i'm definitely an English History person instead of a Science Math person (i'm terrible at math please help me-)
- i forget to sleep and/or eat a lot, and im a huge hypocrite who preaches self-care but doesn't do any self-care for myself (i take the self out of self-care if you will)
- i ramble a lot as well about anything and everything that interests me and will not shut up for awhile
- i'm not too short but also not too tall at 5"8" with long brown hair and blue-grey eyes. whilst i do wear glasses usually i've recently started using contact lenses which i think are neat
- i adore musical theater and music, i sing, play piano, and know some guitar and cello. i think i'm an okay singer but people tell me i'm really good and my voice is really cool because i'm able to sing a lot of different styles (i primarily do musical theater and jazz music but i can also sing classical Italian pieces)
- i speak Polish, Spanish, French and English but i would love to learn Russian and/or Italian fluently.
- i hate having photos taken of myself, but love taking pictures of my friends for memories
- i have a sticker and pin addiction i'm such a little gremlin who hoards them
- my music style is pretty diverse because i usually listen to musicals or Paramore as well as classical music (i've been listening to a string quartet version of Howl's Moving Castle on repeat for weeks and it sounds like a gypsy romance which i adore, the version i listen to is by the Vitamin String Quartet) and metal
- i am very much a hopeless romantic and a biromantic disaster (meaning i'm bi and asexual)
uhhh i think that's everything (sorry it's so long-)
thank you so much and have a lovely day! <3 (also the option to be anonymous is turned off for your asks, i don't know if that's intentional or not so i just thought i'd let you know)
I match you up with Hu Tao!
I chose Hu Tao Because:
you guys would watch horror movies together
because of her job, she might smell like corpses
make her take a shower/bath if she does
she’d find it cute that you’re a hopeless romantic
she prolly is one too ngl
also was surprised by all the pins and stickers you have

I Read The DWD Screenplay...By A Literary Virtuoso
Harry Styles fans unite!
Many of you have probably read the screenplay for Olivia Wilde’s new film in progress “Don’t Worry Darling” starring Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, Chris Pine and Dakota Johnson. Talk about a cast!
And though many of you are sweating and highly anticipating the sex scenes between Harry and his on screen wife, I have a slightly different approach as to why I think this movie is a timeless, revolutionary piece.
If you have not read the screenplay, don’t worry! I will try my hardest not to spoil anything because I really want you all to take what I tell you in this post and hold on to it when you watch the movie in 2021. Granted, it’ll all probably slip your mind in the opening scene.
There are two important things that this satire covers that make me believe its so much more than just a psychological thriller: feminism and the development of neuroscience.
Of course, I’ve talked about what satire is before when I made my post about Big Mouth (which you can read here), but just to refresh your memory: it’s a genre in which criticizes a targets stupidity or vices, normally using humour as they did on Big Mouth. However, upon the creation of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and more recently Get Out by Jordan Peele, it was quite obvious that satire has breeched the concept of “only being funny” and had transferred over to horror, thriller and gothic fiction.
This story opens in the 1950′s, more specifically 1954. Science in the 1950′s was mainly focused within geology and genetics. Contraceptives play a huge part in this era as well as they were invented in the 50′s by Gregory Pincus and John Rock. This is especially important in this movie and it is a huge part of Jack and Alice’s relationship.
This new creation of contraceptives and birth control gave women a whole new stance towards freedom in terms of their sexuality as well as their freedom to choose whether or not they wanted to have a family (keep an eye out for the “Lysol” when you read). The female norm at the time was marry a man, have his baby and take care of it and the house - which is made very clear by Jack’s perception and expectation of Alice, who is not ready for a child. Already, this movie is playing with the contrast of these ideologies within the time.
Interestingly enough [SPOILER], Alice is told by a male doctor that she is in fact having a “psychotic episode” and her mental health is not great as she is hallucinating things. And fun fact, the word “hysterical” was created in the 19th century to mean over emotional or crazy. Hysteria was actually LITERALLY said to be a “female mental disorder.” So the fact that they would tell a woman she is overreacting  the day after she has an argument with her husband over the fact that she [SPOILER] says she wants to go to medical school to be a neurosurgeon and not have a baby...well, I’m just going to leave that there.
Another interesting thing is this idea of technology. Now when I first read this screenplay, the way they introduced this idea of technology made me furrow my brow and wonder if I was reading the same text. However, the over exaggeration of this not only relates back to the fact that women are hysterical and over exaggerating beings ([SPOILER] she’s the one who sees this technology) but it also is very satirical of the idea of how ridiculous science can be when put into the wrong hands.
I don’t want to say much, because it is a huge part of the film so I’ll keep it vague. The earliest video game was created in 1958. This idea of a virtual world in which you can win or lose, try your luck multiple times until it ends up your way. It sounds very progressive at the time. However, when this power of progression is put in the hands of old fashioned patriarchal squires, there’s a chance that this science will move backwards. I believe another interesting point this screenplay made was that technology is a strong thing. It’s a very powerful, revolutionary thing that could change the world. We’re taped to our phones all day idolizing men and women’s bodies, we learn using the internet, we have incognito mode, we hand in our essays through an online site that scans your paper for plagiarism?! Think of how many of those things are positive things. Yeah, I know.
“Don’t Worry Darling” brilliantly captures what it’s like when a progressive technology meets bad intentions. It creates a diversion between reality and technology. The lengths that one person will go to; creating an alternate reality using technology can influence groups, religions, genders so negatively.
Kudos to The Van Dyke brothers for this amazing satire on modern day technology and feminism. I literally read the whole thing in a day and was completely glued to my screen the whole time. Super chilling; had me on the edge of my seat this whole time. I am super excited to see what Olivia Wilde does with this screenplay, and knowing her, I can’t say it’ll be less than absolutely phenomenal.
Also, scary Harry? I am SO ready!

Reader’s Corner: Silver Spoon, Solo Leveling, and the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
Solo Leveling, Vol. 1 (novel)
The immensely popular webtoon, Solo Leveling, features a basic premise about a young man rising from the lowest of ranks of “hunting” to become incredibly strong. It’s most appreciated for its art, so the question is, if the story is mundane, does it’s forerunner, which lacks any illustrations, hold up? It does—surprisingly well. Volume one of Chugong’s novel series, originally published on the web and now being released by Yen Press, traces the story of Level-E ranked hunter, Jin-Woo, in mesmerizing detail as he “levels up” following an experience that should have lead to his demise. That opening is only one of a number of violent but engaging episodes in the novel, which also relies heavily on descriptions of game-like mechanics. As the rare anime fan that isn’t a gamer, my eyes usually glaze over such details, but Chugong’s vivid but spare descriptions kept me engaged, as the protagonist moves quickly along his journey, which still, is well structured, even if his characterization if less developed. That’s both a flaw of the series and a point of question: Is Jin-woo’s desire for “Money, honor, and power” meant to be admired, glossed over, or criticized? I’m not yet sure, and I wonder if Jin-Woo’s moral development will become a significant part of the story beneath the well-crafted verneer of fighting and powering up, which as imaginative as it is, can’t very well carry an entire series—can it? ~ Twwk
Solo Leveling is published by Yen Press, which provided a review copy.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The Shinji Ikari Raising Project, Vol. 18
I did it (insert GIF of everyone applauding Shinji here). I finally finished reading Neon Genesis Evangelion: The Shinji Ikari Raising Project. And let me tell you something about it: While there are science fiction undertones and references to the original series throughout that give you genuine laughs, by the end, the series is primarily just an ecchi teen romantic comedy with Evangelion characters as window dressing. Every chapter is an opportunity for Shinji to mistakenly trip, fall, and accidentally grope a girl. Every other chapter, by the end, sees a character with exposed breasts—sometimes because of said clusiness, sometimes because the mangaka just decides to draw an extended group bathing scene. This volume gives the final actual reference to an Evangelion, but once again, there’s no actual use of it. This alternate Eva-verse is, in the end, a school harem romance and not a science fiction epic that discusses about real issues like depression. For some, that’s fine. For others, the blatant fanservice will be too much. For me, I am still so very struck by how out of character both Shinji and Gendo act in this series when compared to the original . I guess Yui Ikari being alive really made a huge difference! ~ MDMRN

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya
First released in the U.S. eleven years ago, and originally published in 2004, Yen Press has rereleased The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (along with all the others) to coincide with the new Haruhi Suzumiya light novel. After all this time, it holds up surprisingly well, and in fact perhaps takes on more meaning now in the booming light novel industry as a series that—as with the anime—inspired so many of today’s writers. A quick read—it tells just one longer tale instead of several shorter one, coming in at under 200 pages—every sentence is meaningful, every chapter tightly structured, and every emotion hits with precision and sharpness as the series at once returns to an older act, takes the story to new places (and new heights), and brings in questions from the future as Kyon wakes to discover that the SOS Brigade has disbanded, no one has ever hear of a Haruhi Suzumiya, and Asahina and Nagato no longer have their peculiar powers. The volume works so well because it depends on those preceding it, not only for it’s “return to the past” plot but also as it ramps up the nostalgia and emotions in both Kyon and the reader. Everything is predicated on how the reader feels about these characters, leading to a tale that’s simultaneously a love fest for the series and one that is satisfying in its own right. Disappearance proves to be, much like its characters, a light novel that surely is timeless. ~ Twwk

The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt (Hey, How About Treason?), Vol. 1
What we have with this mouthful of a title is a more comedic (and non-isekai) take on the kingdom-running light novel. Prince Wein is appointed regent to run the country of Natra in place of his ailing father, but given how terrible the state of his nation is in financially, he would much rather just sell the country off and run away. Yeah, he’s lazy and a coward. The problem is, he’s also a bit too smart for his own good, and plans that he intend to go towards relieving his workload and avoiding confrontation only make people believe he can totally win wars and bring the country back to greatness. (It helps that the countries trying to deal with Natra have issues of their own…) The result is an amusing read as I had fun seeing Wein pull out plans that work a bit too well and have him suffering from success. I also liked how his relationship with Ninym, his childhood friend and primary aide, is framed in the story both as a teammate that Wein relies on to help run the country, and also a close companion (and love interest) whom he banters with but also trusts deeply and does not tolerate any insults toward her from others. Overall I’m definitely looking forward to reading more from this series and how Wein will continue to help his country more than he might want to. ~ stardf29

Dragon Head
Dragon Head was a horror manga series I picked up last year from a Kodansha Halloween Humble Bundle. Let me tell you—it is dark, earning its way into that genre heading. The first volume begins with three teenagers trying to survive in an underground subway tunnel after an earthquake event caused its collapse. As the story progresses, and effects on the surface world around them are revealed, the characters discover that the earthquake was no isolated incident but something that struck all of Japan. It is gritty and violent at times. Yet, the overall story and a desire to see how these characters survive kept me reading page after page. I finished the entire 10 volume series in about three days time as I had a hard time putting it down. The ending is is a hard one, and perhaps very fitting for this work, leading readers to consider how widespread the problems that struck and set the events of the series really are. Psychological horror indeed. ~ MDMRN
Dragon Head is published by Kodansha.
Silver Spoon, Vol. 1
With Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood continuing its tear through our annual AniMarch Madness tournament, I turn my attention to the other now-classic work from mangaka Hiromu Arakawa. Silver Spoon, which ended its run in 2019, is a fish out of water tale featuring high school freshman Hachiken, an academic-focused city boy who decides to attend an agricultural high school in Hokkaido. Volume one has fun with his inability to get used to farm life, though it also sensitively looks at his reasons for choosing this high school while showing that even early on, Hachiken is growing, such as when he condescends horses only to be taught how the majestic animals can show the rider a different perspective on life. It doesn’t take long for readers to grow attached to the series characters, like Aikawa, who is the determined to overcome his sensitivity to blood and death to become a veterinarian, and Nishikawa, who loves tractors and mecha. But most of all, Hachiken makes for a compelling character. Like Edward from FMA, Hachiken is easily frustrated but kind and open; it’s lovely to see him already developing among friends so different from what he’s used to, even while seeing him frequently fall (and slowly get back up)—a source of laughter page after page in this wonderful introductory volume. ~ Twwk

Survey #310
“i get pretty just to fuck my face up.”
Do you have a clock in your room? No. What book, movie, TV show, or video game have you been wanting to start up? I *want* to read The Testaments by Margaret Atwood, but I care more about reading Wings of Fire, so I probably realistically won't for a long time. I don't read enough for that; Sutherland will surely keep pumping out books in the series so I'll never catch up, haha. As for a movie, I've been interested in seeing Jacob's Ladder for a very long time; it served as a very large influence on the Silent Hill series, and boy, anyone who brings up video games in front of me knows SH is my SHIT. I also just know I'm bound to like it with how essentially legendary it is in the psychological horror genre, which is my favorite. Onto TV show, I'm not certain. Shows don't really interest me. I would like to keep watching A:TLA w/ Sara, but "start up" implies beginning something new, so. Lastly, video games. There are a LOT of games I want to play, but yeah, I have no operational gaming console above a PS2. I'm dyinnnngggggg to play a ton of PS4 remasters (namely the original Spyro the Dragon trilogy and SoTC), but as for a fresh game I've never experienced, Ico, which is from the same producers of Shadow of the Colossus. It's an old game, and Mom's bought it off of Ebay for me twice, but neither disc worked - they froze only minutes into the game. It's hella expensive in new condition though because of its age... so who knows when I'll actually get to play it. Do you put anything else on your grilled cheese sandwiches? Just butter. Have you ever read a book in a different language? I've read some simple fairy tales as well as the play Faust in German courses. Do you want to go to the Harry Potter theme park at Universal? I have no connection with the franchise, but I mean, I'd go if you're paying, haha. If you had a secret room in your house, how would you decorate it? I'm trying to think what kind of room I'd keep a secret... Ha, actually, IF my love of tarantulas expands so largely to having dozens (which I doubt, but I acknowledge the possibility once I get my own place), a room kept on the down low to others just for them would be pretty cool. Imagine someone not knowing they're sharing a house with like, a hundred Ts, haha. As for actual decor, I'm unsure. I'd definitely keep it generally dark for them as nocturnal creatures, maybe with some Halloween decorations, like lots of fake webbing and neon green or orange lights. Man... that sounds dope. What did you get your dad for his last birthday? I couldn't buy him anything, nor did I actually make anything since I didn't know what to create. I just told him happy birthday, of course. Do any of your relatives live in another country? No. Are you claustrophobic? In some spaces, yes. Ever seen Blair Witch? Without spoilers, you know "that part" near the end? Yeah, if you've seen it, you know. That would be a fucking NIGHTMARE for me. Even watching it made me squirm. When grocery shopping, do you usually buy brand names or store brand? With most items anyway, we just get the store brand bc we cheap. Around what time do you usually eat dinner? Generally between 5:30-6:30 nowadays. Do you have any clothing that you get dry cleaned? No. Do you like foods with coconut in it? Eugh, not a coconut fan. I don't hate it as much as I used to, but I still don't like it. Have you ever researched your family history? No, but some past relative researched our family tree. Have you ever had surgery that kept you in the hospital for over a day? No. Do you like carrots more if they’re raw, or cooked? I hate carrots. Did you play with Legos as a kid? Nah, I was more into Lincoln Logs. Which bothers you more… spelling mistakes or bad grammar? It really depends on the severity and simplicity of the spelling or grammar rule. Grammatical misuse of "there/their/they're" stand out very strongly to me, though. Have you ever bought anything off of eBay? Yeah, a good number of things. Is anybody in your family schizophrenic? If so, what is their life like? I have a scizophrenic half-sister that I've never met, so I couldn't tell you. How organized is your mind? How do you know it's organized/disorganized? My mind is running Windows '98 with multiple windows and even more tabs open, all of them not responding. :^) Why do you follow the religion that you do? I don't follow one. My personal religious journey was a train wreck liberating to jump off of. Do you feel superior to others because you're that religion? I don't care if you're atheist, Christian, Buddhist, Islamic, whatever - you are by no means superior to another person in any way just because you believe different things happen once you die. If you do, it's time for some introspection. Are you a blind believer, or do you frequently challenge your own beliefs? Seeing as I went from Catholic to Christian to briefly Neo-Pagan-ish to what I am now, just believing there's some higher power/knowledge and some form of sentience after death, I obviously challenge them. What's the greatest thing about science? Life itself. This universe, this planet, your state of just knowing is a product of science, and that's pretty damn beautiful. Are you emotional or very stolid? I know I'm too emotional. I'm trying to get better about it. Do your siblings look like you? To a degree, but not NEARLY as much as they look like each other. Ashley and Nicole have been mistaken multiple times in their lives and even asked if they're twins. How many states have you lived in? Just this shitty one. How many states have you traveled through/vacationed in? Traveled through, a whole lot. Up and down the east coast. I've stayed in New York, Florida, Ohio, Illinois, South Carolina briefly, and I think possibly Michigan as a baby. Which state was/is your favorite? I don't know. Not NC, haha. You have two weeks alone in any place in the world; where would you go? Alone? Um... I dunno. I'd get lonely through two weeks in absolute isolation. How old were you when you first moved out of your parents' home? I want to say I was 18 when I briefly "moved in" with Jason and our roommates. Did you ever have to move back in? Yeah; the apartment didn't last very long. None of us were ready. How old were you when you thought you were "in love" for the first time? I was in love at 16. I'd fight God literally for eternity to prove that fact. How many exterior doors are in your home? Two, or maybe three, depending on your outlook. We have like this deck in the back with a roof and mesh separating you from the outside, and then you properly go into the yard from the door beyond that. How many cars have you owned? I myself, none. How many email accounts do you have? Ummmm my very first one I misspelled, so I didn't use it long before making a new one with the correct spelling, then later I had no choice but to make a Gmail to use YouTube, and I know I've had at least one email specifically for school. I'm probably forgetting some other oldies I used for small things. What was the last movie you watched alone? The Shining. What (if any) one television program do you watch religiously every day/week? None. What (if any) is your favorite sport? Dance. Scoff at that shit and then try one dance session and tell me it's not one. What is your favorite musical? None. Have you ever seen a live opera production? No. Dressing up for an evening out: Pants or skirt? Pants. I don't show my legs. What do you currently hear right now? I'm listening to Dance With the Dead's "The Man Who Made a Monster." I LOVE the aesthetic of synthwave and rock mixed together, but the only problem I have with this song is that it's very repetitive. Still stuck in my head though, haha. What type of survey do you refuse to take? I'm not into bolding surveys, specifically. Do you like to run? bitch fuck no Do you think you could run the mile in 10 minutes? Zero chance. What was the longest movie you watched? Hm, I don't remember... It's faintly there in my head, I just can't identify it... Have you ever been to a job interview? Well yeah. Who was the last person to call you? My psychiatrist. Now that I'm doing the partial hospitalization program again, he calls once a week. When was the last time you talked to your last ex boyfriend? Uhhh I think around the start of this month? Missed him and felt like chatting for a bit. Is your dog mixed or full? I don't have a dog, buuuut... we're getting one soon! I'm quite sure she's a mutt. What was the last thing you and your mother did together? Rode to the pharmacy to pick up my meds. Do you take good pictures? I like to think so. What is your display picture on myspace/facebook right now? The most recent selfie I took and liked. I'm finally comfortable using makeupless photos as a display picture. :') Not that I like my body by any means, I just don't care enough to feel like I HAVE to wear makeup to be even remotely pretty in the face. As for everywhere else... ahahaha. What is going on outside right now? It's raining. Like it has been for what feels like literally weeks - and it might actually have been. There's been one or two sunny days in a huge streak of just nothing but rain. It's so gross outside by now; we've been under a flood warning for days on end. Who was the last person you kissed? My best friend, but we were dating then. What color looks the best on you? Black. Have you ever bought the wrong size because you were too lazy to check it? Oh, absolutely. I LOATHE trying on clothes. You have to essentially drag me to go do it. I don't have a good reason other than I don't want to, lol. What was the last thing you bought over 5 dollars? I put down the deposit on my tattoo. c: Do you have any mag subscriptions? No. What is something you're not scared of but a lot of people are? Snakes are probably the highest on the list. I adore snakes, all snakes. Would you ever have a threesome? No; I'm strictly monogamous and to me would be cheating even if your partner was in on it. Are you an U.S. citizen? Yep. Do you have any step siblings? I have a stepbrother, yeah, but I don't see him as my brother, honestly. He's a very quiet and reclusive guy I've had almost no conversations with, and they've only ever been short. Do they annoy you? Nah, he's fine. How many times a day do you talk to your mom on the phone? Well, we live together... What did you wear yesterday? The same pjs I'm in now. I'm changing when I take a shower later. The tank top is a Day of the Dead-esque skull pattern, while the pants are mostly navy with skulls and candy can crossbones that say "nice until proven naughty" arching over and beneath them. They were a Christmas gift from my sis and are really soft and comfortable. Really don't care that it's now out of season, I wear them anyway. I do not match colors AT ALL, but again, I don't care. What color straightener do you have? We don't have one; neither Mom or I use one. Do you listen to music really loud or really low? Turn that shit up LOUD. I'll be nearly deaf one day, but... worth it? lol Do you live with anybody other than your siblings and your parents? No. Both my sisters have moved out. I'm still here because I'm just not emotionally or financially equipped to live on my own yet. Who was your last crush? I still like my best friend, but agree with her that right now isn't the time for anything. How many tattoos do you have? Currently only six. :( What is your favorite thing to do? Car rides with Mom while I ride passenger, controlling the music nice and loud with my iPod. It's odd, considering I'm very afraid of being on the road, but it's just such a freeing, wild feeling to blare music and just go, letting your mind wander. How many pets do you own? I only have a cat and a snake right now, but we're getting a dog hopefully very soon, preferably today actually when Mom has to go to the appropriate city for her normal check-up to keep her cancer at bay. Her name is Vanna and sounds so perfect for us. Mom can barely wait. Are you close with your parents? Yes, very, Mom especially. Where do you shop the most for your clothes? Hot Topic or Wal-Mart. I'd really like more stuff from Rebel's Market; they have such a wide range of stuff that just scream my aesthetic. I got my purse from there, and it's fantastic quality and so cool-looking. Have you ever read a whole series of books? Well, one trilogy that I remember: Shiloh. I adored those books and the movies. I got very, very deep into Warriors by Erin Hunter, but then my interest in reading waned, and I'm immensely behind. I don't think I'll pick it up again, but I've thought briefly about it. When you tell someone you love them do you mean it? Yes. Are you going to walk at your graduation or just pick your diploma up? I walked. Do you ever eat anything everybody else thinks is gross? Hm, perhaps. I'd have to think for a while. What did you do for your last birthday? I just ate pizza at home with my one sister that was free that day, Mom, and a family friend, as well as opened presents. What do you plan on doing for your 18th birthday? I don't recall, but I think that may have been when I was in the psych hospital. Or was that my 21st? I don't remember. Do you have to type with good grammer? Yes. I type pretty much exactly how I talk. What is your favorite quote? It's hard to pick one singular favorite. Are you allowed to cuss in front of your parents? Dad could care less, but I try to limit myself with Mom, especially with "fuck." She's not a fan, nor does she like if I just swear too much in front of her. Like she won't yell at me or anything, she just makes it clear she wants me to stop. How long was your last phone conversation? Just a couple minutes. I didn't get the Zoom link to group therapy one day and let the place know. Turns out their email was fucking up. Which one of your friends annoy you? The family friend I mentioned a few questions above has the ability to be incredibly aggravating. I love her, but she has zero issue with inserting herself into everything (and sometimes we just don't want to see her), and she voices incredibly rude opinions literally no one asks for a whoooole lot. She's got a strong tendency to try to take control over every situation. Her being our landlord now makes it harder to speak up, and besides, no one wants to hurt her feelings. Don't be mistaken though, she truly is an incredible person with a heart more caring than probably any person I know. Have you ever lost a close friend to death? No, thank fuck. I mean, I think. I do believe one of my childhood online friends committed suicide because of sexual abuse from her own fucking brother, but I guess I'll never know. She was talking to me one night horribly depressed and scared and then just vanished. Bless her, I loved her. Do you know someone who suffers from addiction? Yes. Do you have a lot of pictures in your room? Tons of posters and artwork, anyway. I currently don't have any photographs, but I got this shadowbox thing for my bday to decorate with pictures of Teddy so I can use it in my "tribute shrine" or whatever for him, and I'd also like to frame the picture of Sara's and my first hug and maybe put it on my bedside table. Do you have Facebook? Yeah, I do. Have you ever found a dog/cat on the side of the road? I myself, no, but a friend's mom did find two poor kittens thrown aside in a fucking plastic bag... Some people are abominable. Knowing how much my family loved cats, she reached out to us, and we took them in and named them Aphrodite and... I can't remember the other's name. She disappeared kinda early. Aphrodite wound up being one of my most beloved cats and was even the mother of a kitten that same family adopted. Delilah is still alive, doing wonderfully, and incredibly loved. <3 Aphrodite, meanwhile, as well as all our other cats at the time, were taken by animal control because our neighbors were tired of them wandering, even though they were too fucking cowardly to confront us first. I've said in many surveys that I am very much against outdoor cats, but I wasn't then because I was uninformed and really didn't understand. I wailed and sobbed and just pure shrieked like a banshee outside when we came home to learn they were taken. I have no clue how any are now, and that's the worst part. Do you go bowling in your town? We are in the middle of a pandemic, lol. Even beforehand though, I rarely went. Last time I did was on a date with Girt. We had fun. Do you have a drive-in theater? No sir. What brand is your favorite shoe? Converse. Is your best friend's mom like your own? They're quite similar, yes. Both are very sweet and caring for others. Do you have anxiety or depression? Try both. What is your favorite fast food restaurant? Sonic. Do you own a pair of brass knuckles? Nah. Have you and your friends ever made up a word? Likely as kids. Do you have any embarrassing baby pictures of yourself? Not that I know of. What is the worst smell in the world? Anyone remember that survey I took mentioning my dog's old tumor? Yeah, that after he spent overnight in a diaper and inevitably peed himself in his old age. And he had a UTI. You probably can't even imagine how fucking vomit-inducing that smell was. Do you dye your hair a lot? No. :/ I really wish. I have so many colors I wanna try. Do you have anybody in your family who rides dirtbikes/fourwheelers? Not really? No one in my family owns one. My younger sister would totally go if you asked her and had one for her to use, though. She's done it plenty before. Have you ever rode a dirtbike/fourwheeler? Yeah, a fourwheeler, and it's really fun! Tell me how you got one of your scars? Hmmm, let's think of a unique one. Ah, my shins, left one especially. When I shave my legs, they get unbelievably itchy, even if I use lotion, and I would scratch my skin absolutely raw so often that I have permanent scars. It's partially why I barely shave my legs anymore. Have you ever had a friend who cut themselves? I know many, sadly. I don't know of any that still do, thankfully. I promise, it never helps. If you ever have the urge, I can't suggest enough running where you want to self-harm under cold water or slap the location (like your wrist) with a rubber band. The latter is especially helpful. It's a similar burning sensation and doesn't leave marks. It would help me refrain sometimes. What is your favorite thing to do in the summer? Swim in a nice, warm pool. Otherwise, become a hermit and wait for the outdoors to not be prepared to melt the flesh off my bones. x_x Do you go tanning or do you lay out? Neither, ugh. As you can guess from above, I hate the sensation of heat on me. What is your favorite skin lotion? I just really like cocoa butter. Smells really good and is perfectly moisturizing. Do you use a lot of hair products? The only hair product I use is shampoo, haha. Do you have a cousin you dislike? No. Well, one is incredibly brainwashed and misled by her psychopath of a father, but I love her nonetheless. We talk now and again because family is important to her. Have you ever heard Theory of a Deadman? Yeah, they're good. What is your comfort food? Absolutely ice cream. Who is your celebrity crush? Mark Fischbach/Markiplier is a perfect human being with the looks of a god and heart of a saint and you cannot convince me otherwise. What’s the song you most wish you had written? "Imagine" by John Lennon is a high contendant, for sure. Definitely something I'd write. Have you ever been stuck by someone very annoying on a plane/bus/etc? I think so at one point or another. Did you get lost at all on your first day of high school? Ha, for sure. Have you ever been interrupted during sex? A bitch knows how to act asleep if she hears a door so much as barely squeak, I'll tell you that much lmaooo. Have you ever been recorded doing stupid things while drunk? No. Has a significant other ever called you by the wrong name? No. Have you ever cooked anything and it turned out horrible? I've barely actually cooked anything in order TO fuck up. Have you ever made a bad first impression on someone’s parents? I can't say with certainty, but I think Jason's mom had her doubts about me at first because she commented on the ripped jeans I wore when I went to his house for the first time. She came to love me like her own though, and I love(d) her. I was actually just thinking about her and how she's doing the other day. What is a food that you always are in the mood to eat? Always? Perhaps sour candy, like Sour Punch Straws in specific. Ever held a newborn animal? Many kittens, yes. Do you make a wish when you blow out your birthday candles? I do, but just for the annual appeal of it. I don't actually believe it will have any effect on what I wished, it's just... normal, ig. What is the last thing you searched for online? Medical coding classes. Having trouble finding any free ones that are actually legit... Is it wicked hard for you to sleep when it's hot in your room? It's borderline impossible. Do you dunk your cookies in milk? Sometimes, and almost always with Oreos. Do medical terms make you uncomfortable? Ha, speaking of medical coding... No, not really. It's unnerving to hear "you have _____," but I understand it can be something so, so minor. Of course, it could be the exact opposite, but. I also actually find it quite interesting to learn the Latin roots of the terms. Are you afraid of failure? Beyond measure. Have you been called a bad influence? Yes, to my former friend's son. Not that that witch of a woman was a great person. I'd love to know how an infant can be negatively affected by receiving nothing but love from his "aunt," also having no concept of understanding about me being unemployed and not very "adult-ish" in general, which I'm sure is what she meant. Normally judgment hits me deep, but that shit I just rolled my eyes at.

EIGHT PEOPLE I’D LIKE TO GET TO KNOW BETTER.
one   /   (  alias / name  ) :  epicness1000 or HelenE with an E
two   /   (  birthday  ) :   17th February
three   /   (  zodiac sign  ) :   Aquarius
four   /   (  height  ) :   160cm, or 5′3′’. For some reason a lot of my friends think this is an absolutely hilarious thing to laugh about.
five   /   (  hobbies  ) :  DINOSAURS DINOSAURS DINOSAURS!!!!!!! Anything to do with prehistory!!! Also writing novels/stories (working on one right now, t’is very stressful), and I am also a film buff (big fan of sci-fi and psychological horror). I also enjoy drawing, debating, and gaming. I think Myers-Briggs personality types are fun too (INTJ over here)
six   /   (  favourite colour  ) :   Black, for sure. Followed by red and blue.
seven   /   (  favourite books  ) :  Battle Royale by Koushun Takami. Fucking masterpiece, film is among my favourites too. I also love 1984 by George Orwell.
eight   /   (  last song listened to  ) :  Um… does Beethoven’s 9th Symphony count?
nine   /   (  last film or show watched  ) :  Black Mirror. Great show. It’s an anthology, so while I utterly despise some episodes, the ones I love I REALLY love.
ten   /   (  inspiration for muse  ) :   Ghost: I first used her in a dragon RP where war among ice dragons, fire dragons, and humans was the main theme, so I decided to make her a pacifist ice dragon who opposes violence and killing. I ended up enjoying writing her so much, that I’ve used  different versions of her in multiple RPs now. She’s legitimately fun to write, because of how flexible she is with the directions I can take her character in, and how determined she is to make a change. The first RP I used her in ended with her having a huge mental breakdown, disowning her friends, and becoming a nihilist (granted the RP died before it reached its full conclusion, but HOLY CRAP all the character development that led to this…)
Sephiroth: Well, he’s my favourite FF7 character, so I thought ‘hey, I should give him a shot, right?’ It’s been really fun writing him, which is great because I was low-key terrified at first, since I’d never RPed as any canon character from anything. I try to make my portrayal of him scary and intimidating, but on the inside, he suffers (though he does not fully realise this). I love all the existential implications a character like him has.
Hojo: I just felt like I could add something to the character through my portrayal of him. I never liked how relatively one-dimensional he was in the games, so I wanted to make a portrayal of him that was more human. Still a terrible person, but a person nonetheless, not a caricature of a mad scientist. Am I being overly critical? Hmm…
I put pieces of myself in every character that I write, so I guess that’s another source of inspiration. I think a lot of people do that though? It’s common amongst authors and story-writers.
eleven   /   (  story behind url  ) :  Pacifistghost: Ghost is a pacifist (originally, the blog was single-muse). Onewingedxngel: Sephiroth is a one-winged angel. xbroken-science: Hojo is a broken scientist. I know, not the most creative ideas in the world, but it works. For me at least.
